A man falls overboard and is lost at sea. He washes up on a strange island with no means of
escape and no possible way of contacting anyone to rescue him. He is trapped on the island. This
is one way the setting of The Most Dangerous Game enhances the plot by adding suspense, action
and mystifying image in the readers of the setting and adding an atmosphere of mystery.
The first area that the setting enhances the plot is in the feeling of suspense in the story. If the
story hadn t taken in a place with thick forest, a large swamp, and most of all being on an island,
this story wouldn t have as interesting or suspenseful as it is. Since the setting is on an island
with only Rainsford and Zaroff, this gives a feeling of being trapped. As there is no escape but if
the story was on the mainland there would be a much easier means of escape. The forest also
adds greatly to the plot, as without the forest Rainsford could not have hid as well as he did, set
many traps to help even odds, and beat the Zaroff at his own game and ambush him in his own

This paper is about the different characteristics of the Southern colonies for use in the plausible
war. Based upon the areas of geography and climate, resources, and political and social life, the
southern colonies will prove to be an asset to England in a possible war with France.
The geography of the southern colonies consists of deep wide rivers, the Atlantic coastal plain,
and good harbors. These will all be positive attributes due to the rivers and harbors can be used for
transportation and the Atlantic coastal plain is easy to travel on. The climate however, can be
challenging at some points. The summers are very hot and humid which could be difficult to

The Synagogue or Beit Knesset, the Jewish house of worship, is a very intriguing and complex
institution, and when conducting a tour, it requires a great amount of knowledge for the tourist
who have never visited a Synagogue, to have an adequate understanding of the institution. Being
enrolled in Religious Studies 217, I have gained a lot of knowledge that allow me to believe that I

The first two ceremonies I would explain are the Bar Mitzvah and the Bat Mitzvah, which are
quite similar to each other. At the age of 13, Jewish boys become a Bar Mitzvah and at the age of
12, Jewish girls become a Bat Mitzvah. The ceremony, which usually takes place during the Shabbat
morning service, may feature the bar/bat mitzvah child leading prayers, or reading the Torah

The world has a perception of the American people and it s not as flattering as we would like to
be. In Yanko Tsvetlov s image The World According To Americans 2012 he illustrates in a
brilliantly colored map exactly how that perception appears to the rest of the international
community. Using a map of the entire world, Tsvetlov somewhat comically and perhaps accurately
labels countries or regions of the map in condescending statements or stereotypes (Tsvetlov). These
labels are Tsvetlov s interpretation of how the Americanpeople, either through lack of education or
culture or perhaps simple misconception, see various regions of the globe. Our arrogance and
ignoranceas a nation has painted a picture for the rest of the world to easily judge us by. From
tourists misbehaving to soldiers acting foolishly abroad, the world sees too much of the wrong side

If interpreted in this fashion the map provides us with a simplistic Americanized view of the
world according to Tsvetlov. We can see the reduction of entire continents to comical phrases or
the summation of whole peoples to on word (Tsvetlov). In fact, the continent nation of Australia
was referred to as kangaroo riders reinforcing the idea that Americans characterize the world into
simple groups (Tsvetlov). Further evidence for this mentality towards the world can be seen in the
title given for all of Central America. Seven countries are degraded in to one offensive term

Whether we admit it or not, we have a tendency to judge others.We generate perceptions about other
people without any hard facts. What we see on the surface seems to be enough for us to come up
with a quick assumption about that person that leads to fundamental attribution error. At a young
