2. Existing Product
This is the official xbox magazine, it has two main
stand out colours, black and green with white also
there but it is less prevalent, the reason for these two
colours is because Xbox has really always used them,
if you look at the first xbox it was black and had the
green X on top of it, this is the classic xbox look and
so they have kept using these colours ever since, in
the middle of the page we have Batman from the
’Arkham Knight’ game, the top of his head is in front
of the ‘Official’ which makes him seem like he’s
coming out of the page, around him we have
information about what’s in the magazine, there’s
also the Xbox logo at the top left corner, you can
instantly tell this is THE official Xbox magazine, it has
the big headline right in the middle ‘BATMAN’ this
grabs the attention of any batman fans instantly and
could make them want to read more about the game.

3. Existing Product
This magazine is a lot more colourful than the last,
featuring orangesm yellows, blues, greens and
even reds, at the top you can see ’NARUTO’ in big
letters this instantly tells you what it is you’re
looking at, below the main title there’s a three
which shows you this is the third edition of this
magazine, there is then two characters below the
title, they are there because they are some of the
main characters in the show, they are both wearing
the iconic ninja headbands from the show and the
character on the right is wielding daggers, the main
colour of this magazine seems to be yellow, it also
at the bottom advertises the fact that a new
Naruto film has been released, this makes people
want to buy the magazine to find out what it’s
about.

4. Existing Product
This is the Empire magazine, it has a gold title which
stands out greatly, this magazine seems to be focusing
on the Hobbit mainly, as we see a large picture of Bilbo
Baggins holding a sword, again his head is in front of
Empire, creating the effect that he is coming out of the
page, the Hobbit title is below Bilbo and confirms that
it is indeed about the Hobbit, to the left of the page we
have other films that are being talked about or
showcased in the magazine, there is a real contrast
between the dark cave background and the gold
Empire title, I believe this is intentional as it makes the
Empire stand out even more and so grabs peoples
attention, right at the bottom of the page we see ‘The
Finest Middle-Earth Coverage Continues Inside’ this
makes people want to buy the magazine and see what
this amazing coverage is.

5. Research Analysis
• What common features do the researched
products have?
– All the magazines I researched are about a media topic I.e Gaming, Anime and Film, I did this because I like these
three topics and will most likely want to base the product around them, this is because I know a lot about these things
and so I think I will be able to my best by doing these type of topics.
– Each have a big bold title on the top of the magazine, this is to instantly tell the customer what the magazine is and to
grab their attention, and if their attention is gotten then they will probably want to find out more about the magazine
inside, and so they will buy it
– Each magazine features a character on the front, this peaks any interest of fans of the show, film or games that the
characters are from.
• What aspects of the research will you include
within your on work?
– I think the main thing I will need to include is a big title, as this is essential for a magazine, if you don’t grab the
customers attention from the front page they won’t give it a second look.
– I will have a big character on the front page as this will attract people who are fans of whatever this character is from,
and so they will buy the magazine to see what we’re talking about inside.

Age Range
13-20 • The majority of gamers are probably this
age, therefore I will try to appeal to them
rather than any other age.
Gender
Male and Female Males and females can play games, there is no
reason why I would only have to cater to one of
them, this in my opinion would be sexist.
Psychographic
Gamers • Gamers will be the main psychographic for
this magazine as it will be talking about
games.
Social Status
Any • There is no need to target a certain social
group for this.
