Working Title:
Dark Pixels
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
Product’s Purpose:
The products purpose is to do a many few things, but mostly it is to entertain, but I also want the
people who are playing to feel certain emotions, dread, hope etc etc, if you achieve this you truly
achieve a good game, I will achieve this by making the game atmospheric and interesting.
Genre:
This product is a game, more specifically an 8-bit game, the game itself however is a fantasy
horror genre, as it features lots of magical beings and places but has some areas that are terrifying
this will make it truly atmospheric and allow for different types of play.
Content
My product is about a land that has been ravaged by a curse of hollowing, where if you have no
motivation to do anything you go ‘hollow’ (Turn into a violent undead) the main character is the
chosen undead and must break this curse by fighting his/her way through multiple bosses in the
world, the world is filled with mean and difficult enemies to fight, to get past them, you must kill
them, but this is no easy task, as they will be in great number and great strength.
Audience:
Finding the right target audience is a very important part of planning, so I have chosen
what I need carefully.
The age range I’m looking for is about 15-25, this is because the game is quite mature and
teenagers shouldn’t really be playing it, but I don’t think it’s made for people that are over
25 either.
I believe malesor femalescan play this game, this is because the character can be either
males or female.
The psychographic is people who enjoy playing games, this is a fairly obvious one as it is a
game that I’m making.
Any social status.
Research and Planning:
Most of my research and planning will be connected to my final piece as that is where I
have gotten most of my ideas, using this plans I will integrate them into my final piece and
hopefully with this it will be a much stronger product, it will mostly go into the environment
on the game.
Legal & Ethical Considerations:
There will be no offensive material included in this game, this is because there is no need for it.
It will be a fifteen+ but I believe it is that it is the job of the parents to restrict them from playing
things they shouldn’t.
No, this shouldn’t really offend anyone as I haven’t gone after any specific groups.
I haven’t planned for there to be any offensive material but who knows theses days.
Yes, I am using some names from Dark Souls as this is HEAVILY based off of it.
There is no Dark Souls pixel game.
