The layout of this
magazine, and the
colours used are very
dark and the general
feel for the magazine
is quite creepy, we
also can tell this
because of the dark
“foggy” yellow colour
at the top.
The main image is of
the characters out of
“Twlight saga”, no one
is looking directly at
the camera, and they
all seem to have quite
blank expressions on
there face and look
serious, they are also
all wearing black
clothes, this makes
them blend in to the
background more and
adds to it
The masthead is very
bold and has been laid
out in all capitals to
stand out to the
audience
The barcode is there for
the consumer to be able
to buy the product, it also
tells the consumer how
This is a buzz word,
putting the word
“Exclusive” on the
front cover makes the
buyer think that they
will find out new

attracts the buyer to read
the magazine if they see
someone they are
interested in on the front

The Masthead is in bold
font, its also very
colourful, this allows it to
stand out to the audience,
there’s also a mixture of
blue, white, black and
red.
The background colours
are very dark and
“gloomy” this fits well with
the main image
The main image is the
leading character out
of the movie “Sweeny
Todd” the actor is
looking face on at the
camera, and is giving a
very serious stare, the
image fits well with the
background because
his face is very pale
and grey like, just as
the background
The date has been put in a
smaller font, this is because it
isn’t very appealing to the
consumer when buying it
Using this type of wording
makes the consumer feel
more involved, as if they
are the first ones to see or
read it, using the “scoop”
makes them feel as if they
know information before
anyone else

“creamy’ gold colour,
this could indicate
wealth and high status,
everything James bond
is.
The main image is of
the fictional character
James Bond, he is
looking to the corner of
the camera and giving
quite a serious stare,
this is expected
because James bond is
a serious sequel of films
with a lot of action in
The background is
very plain and it
doesn't’t give off a
lot of information, its
quite mysterious,
exactly as the films
are, this will make
the reader want to
buy the magazine to
see what information
is inside.
The date and price displayed
has been put in really small
front because it isn’t interesting
or appealing to the audience,
this magazine is issued
monthly, the price is also
displayed in different currency.
The barcode is so
the consumer can
purchase the
product, it also tells
the consumer the
price of the product.
This is a buzz word,
this attracts and pulls
people in to buy it,
because it’s a limited
edition people will want
to buy it to own a copy.
Research Analysis
• What common features do the researched products have?
• The common features that my researched products have are they all have “buzz words” on the
front of the magazines to pull in and attract there audience to buy the product, they are all pretty
similar in the way that they all of the main images on each magazine fits in with the general
background of the magazine, all the magazines mastheads stand out and are all in block capitals,
this is also to attract the audience and pull them in. Also every character in each main image is
giving a very serious facial expression, every magazine is telling you a little about what’s inside,
one magazine tells you about what actors are going to be in it, while another one tells you about
“Exclusive” information they have on an actor, one magazine is different instead of giving you
information on an actor or telling you who’s going to be in the issue, they have made the
magazine a “Limited edition” and one of a kind that only a handful of people will get.
• What aspects of the research will you include within your on
work?
• The aspects that I will include in my work are, I will include a “buzz word” on the front cover to attract
my target group’s attention, I will also put my masthead in block capitals to again attract my target
group’s attention, I will also make sure my main image fits well with my background, I think also I will
take away the idea of making my magazine a “Limited Edition” because I think my target group will be
really attracted to the idea of having something that only a handful of people have, I think it will make
them feel really involved when buying the issue

because romance is a genre that connect more with
females than males because its feminine.

audience in to the
“Balanced” group
• My product will appeal to this audience because my
product is aimed at people that like to express there
feminine side, and people that do are more likely to
do things that will benefit man kind

My product is aimed
at all social status
because my product
does not offend
anyone
• My product will appeal to all social statuses because
I haven’t included any offensive material that may
offend some people. I haven’t limited a certain race
or religious group from buy my product either.

Existing Product The layout of this magazine, and the colours used are very dark and the general feel for the magazine is quite creepy, we also can tell this because of the dark “foggy” yellow colour at the top. The main image is of the characters out of “Twlight saga”, no one is looking directly at the camera, and they all seem to have quite blank expressions on there face and look serious, they are also all wearing black clothes, this makes them blend in to the background more and adds to it The masthead is very bold and has been laid out in all capitals to stand out to the audience The barcode is there for the consumer to be able to buy the product, it also tells the consumer how This is a buzz word, putting the word “Exclusive” on the front cover makes the buyer think that they will find out new This is a buzz word, this attracts the buyer to read the magazine if they see someone they are interested in on the front
  • 3. Existing Product The Masthead is in bold font, its also very colourful, this allows it to stand out to the audience, there’s also a mixture of blue, white, black and red. The background colours are very dark and “gloomy” this fits well with the main image The main image is the leading character out of the movie “Sweeny Todd” the actor is looking face on at the camera, and is giving a very serious stare, the image fits well with the background because his face is very pale and grey like, just as the background The date has been put in a smaller font, this is because it isn’t very appealing to the consumer when buying it Using this type of wording makes the consumer feel more involved, as if they are the first ones to see or read it, using the “scoop” makes them feel as if they know information before anyone else
  • 4. Existing Product The masthead is in a “creamy’ gold colour, this could indicate wealth and high status, everything James bond is. The main image is of the fictional character James Bond, he is looking to the corner of the camera and giving quite a serious stare, this is expected because James bond is a serious sequel of films with a lot of action in The background is very plain and it doesn't’t give off a lot of information, its quite mysterious, exactly as the films are, this will make the reader want to buy the magazine to see what information is inside. The date and price displayed has been put in really small front because it isn’t interesting or appealing to the audience, this magazine is issued monthly, the price is also displayed in different currency. The barcode is so the consumer can purchase the product, it also tells the consumer the price of the product. This is a buzz word, this attracts and pulls people in to buy it, because it’s a limited edition people will want to buy it to own a copy.

Research Analysis • What common features do the researched products have? • The common features that my researched products have are they all have “buzz words” on the front of the magazines to pull in and attract there audience to buy the product, they are all pretty similar in the way that they all of the main images on each magazine fits in with the general background of the magazine, all the magazines mastheads stand out and are all in block capitals, this is also to attract the audience and pull them in. Also every character in each main image is giving a very serious facial expression, every magazine is telling you a little about what’s inside, one magazine tells you about what actors are going to be in it, while another one tells you about “Exclusive” information they have on an actor, one magazine is different instead of giving you information on an actor or telling you who’s going to be in the issue, they have made the magazine a “Limited edition” and one of a kind that only a handful of people will get. • What aspects of the research will you include within your on work? • The aspects that I will include in my work are, I will include a “buzz word” on the front cover to attract my target group’s attention, I will also put my masthead in block capitals to again attract my target group’s attention, I will also make sure my main image fits well with my background, I think also I will take away the idea of making my magazine a “Limited Edition” because I think my target group will be really attracted to the idea of having something that only a handful of people have, I think it will make them feel really involved when buying the issue

Audience Profile Category Demographic Content to appeal to this audience Age Range The age range for my product is 17-20+ as my product is fit for anyone of any age • My product will appeal to my audience because the films I will include in my magazine, the age range of people would of seen them or at least know about them. Gender My product is aimed at more female than male, this is because women are more interested in romance than men • My product appeals to more female than male because romance is a genre that connect more with females than males because its feminine. Psychographic I have put my audience in to the “Balanced” group • My product will appeal to this audience because my product is aimed at people that like to express there feminine side, and people that do are more likely to do things that will benefit man kind Social Status My product is aimed at all social status because my product does not offend anyone • My product will appeal to all social statuses because I haven’t included any offensive material that may offend some people. I haven’t limited a certain race or religious group from buy my product either.
