A piezoelectric crystal is commonly used in ultrasonic transducers to generate and detect ultrasonic waves. In this ultrasonic distance measurement system, an 80251 microcontroller analyzes the time of flight for ultrasonic pulses to calculate the distance to a target and displays it on an LCD screen. The system provides an inexpensive, compact solution for distance measurement.
