Survey Results
I made a survey on surveymonkey.com because I needed to know what the target audience like and expect to see in a ska punk video.  I created 5 questions which will give me results and help me to plan what to include in the video. I posted the survey on facebook, The King Blues fan page and Kerrang! website.
In the first question which was about colours, the results showed me that most people like to see bright colours in a music video. Other responses were a colour to suit the mood of the song.
As shown by the picture above, people are split as to whether they prefer a music video to have a storyline or not. This doesn’t help us with our planning but we know that some people will like having a storyline and that’s what we are choosing to do.
The answer for this question about conventions of a punk video showed various results but the general answers were lots of people, live shots, busy places, working class people, dark clothing. This reflects the genre of the music and the attitude of the band which shows an anti establishment attitude.
The majority of people who answered this question about seeing the band performing in the video answered yes, that they do want to see the band perform in the video. Therefore in our music video we will show the band performing as our target audience will enjoy that.
In our video we want to show the contrast between a boring office job and the wild, crazy, happy side of life. We asked our audience what things they find fun to do and a lot of the answers were running around, seeing friends, being in town, drinking, playing sport. For most of our video we will be showing fun activities and we will use some of our audiences answers to include in the video so they understand the contrast of the two different lifestyles.

Survey rusults

  • 2. I made a survey on surveymonkey.com because I needed to know what the target audience like and expect to see in a ska punk video. I created 5 questions which will give me results and help me to plan what to include in the video. I posted the survey on facebook, The King Blues fan page and Kerrang! website.
  • 3. In the first question which was about colours, the results showed me that most people like to see bright colours in a music video. Other responses were a colour to suit the mood of the song.
  • 4. As shown by the picture above, people are split as to whether they prefer a music video to have a storyline or not. This doesn’t help us with our planning but we know that some people will like having a storyline and that’s what we are choosing to do.
  • 5. The answer for this question about conventions of a punk video showed various results but the general answers were lots of people, live shots, busy places, working class people, dark clothing. This reflects the genre of the music and the attitude of the band which shows an anti establishment attitude.
  • 6. The majority of people who answered this question about seeing the band performing in the video answered yes, that they do want to see the band perform in the video. Therefore in our music video we will show the band performing as our target audience will enjoy that.
  • 7. In our video we want to show the contrast between a boring office job and the wild, crazy, happy side of life. We asked our audience what things they find fun to do and a lot of the answers were running around, seeing friends, being in town, drinking, playing sport. For most of our video we will be showing fun activities and we will use some of our audiences answers to include in the video so they understand the contrast of the two different lifestyles.
