A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.

2. Intelligence
• The word "Intelligence" is derived from the
Latin word "Intelligentia" which means the
capacity of understanding and reasoning.
• "Intelligence is an innate ability to solve
problems”.

5. Theories of Intelligence
1. Single Factor Theory Binet
2. Two Factor Theory Spearman
3. Triarchic Theory Sternberg
4. Multi-Factor theory Thorndike
5. Group Factor Theory Thurstone
6. Multiple Intelligence Gardner
7. Crystal & Fluid Intelligence Cattel
8. Structure of Intellect Model Guilford
6. Alfred Binet 1857-1911
• French psychologist
• University of Paris
• Father of Intelligence Testing
• Identify school kids
• He develop first IQ test
• He give Mental Age Concept
7. Binet define Intelligence
“Intelligence means the capacity to judge well, to
reason well and to comprehend well.”
Students prefer traditional method instead online
Exams.
Judge: Best way to express ideas
Reason: Not fear of error
Comprehend: Benefits of it
8. Single Factor Theory Intro
• Presented by Alfred Binet
• Theory is known Monarchic, uni-factor and
traditional theory of intelligence
• Binet, Johnson, Darwin, Herbert Spencer,
Ebbinghaus, Terman and Stern emphasized
that intelligence consists of one factor which is
universal for all activities of the individual.
9. Different Intelligence Definitions
"Intelligence is an ability
to abstract, compare,
contrast and classify."
Ebbinghaus
"Intelligence as ability to
adjust the new
environment with the
continuous new
thoughts and abstract
reasoning"
Terman
"Intelligence as the
power of making good
responses"
Thorndike
“Mental activity directed
toward purposive
adaptation to and
selection and shaping of
real world environment
relevant to one's life”
Sternberg
12. Single factor or Unitary theory
• This theory claims that
intelligence is one’s power or
energy which effects all the
activities of the individual.
• It’s a General ability of the
individual that enables us to
succeed in every sphere of
life.
13. Criticism
Charles Spearman criticize this theory and
claim that "Intelligence is the combination of g
and s Factors, Intelligence is the general ability
made of several different abilities“. Like
• Muhammad Ali
• Abraham Lincoln
• Robert Sternberg
