Working Title:
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
The Jungle Mystery. This is because it is set in a Jungle in South America, and it is about a
mysterious species of lion there that the main character is investigating.
Audience:
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc. Use the
Audience Classifications PowerPoint on Blackboard to help you develop this section.
Why would your project appeal to this person? Discuss each audience element in relation to
content (why would your product appeal to the age group? Why would your product appeal to the
gender? Etc.)
My primary age demographic target audience is teenagers, age 12 – 18. This is because
teenagers usually tend to watch more action, adventure or even sci-fi films more than other age
groups, so I am aiming my work at teenagers because they will enjoy it. My secondary age
demographic target audience is the younger audience 8 – 12. This is because my video game is
animated using pixel art, and the storyline isn’t too complicated for children to understand. With the
video game being animated, you will have to run away from the lion and avoid obstacles which will
be enjoyable for anyone, as well as the younger audience. My primary gender demographic is any
gender, this is because it is an adventure film for anyone, stereotypically males will watch
adventure or action films or play games more, but this piece of work is for anyone. My work is also
for any social status, this is because it is a game, film idea and magazine cover, and anyone with
any social status could be interested in one of these.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
Review your progress throughout the year- what skills and knowledge have you acquired?
How has the subjects you have studied this year informed your choice for this project?
What have you studied and how will it have a direct impact upon your project?
This college year I have done my music video last half term and this half term I have done the
magazine, sound, pixel art and animation experiment. I have learned a lot of new things and
improved at how to make pixel art in photoshop, how to do animation and new skills and details in
photoshop, how to improve at GarageBand and making sound (with the experiment), and a lot of
new skills on graphic design by making magazine covers. I will use all my new knowledge on
photoshop and skills to make a good project and to learn more.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
What is the concept for your project and what are you going to make?
What research will you need to conduct and how will it help you make your project/
I am going to make an adventure film concept, with a video game and magazine cover. My overall
idea for my adventure film is a main character called Thomas, who is an animal researcher, he
travels to Peru to find out more about a new species of lion there. He faces many problems and
meets new people and eventually finds the lion and gets lots of research and photos despite he
has to run away because of how dangerous it is (this is when the video game is set). After this, he
returns to England with lots of information on the lion which goes in newspapers and online, and
after risking his life with the lion his job gives him a very big pay for it, which helps him and his
family after not seeing them for a month. I am going to make a magazine cover for it, which is
going to be similar to all adventure posters / magazine covers, it will have the main title logo in
large font at the top, with the jungle background (the main setting), and the main characters on the
front, and more information and reviews on the front cover. I found out all of this by doing my
research and experiments. Also, I will be doing my video game which will be set during the film
where the main character will be running from the lion in the jungle, similar to the mobile game
‘Temple Run’. After doing my research and research I knew what my background will be like, with
jungle trees and a lake with extra details like clouds and rocks. My video game will also have a

cutscene which will be set at the lake at the end of the level, I will be doing sound effects (foley),
and dialogue between the characters too, which I will record. During my game I will have audio
over it, which will be my own music I create, from my research I know I will be having fast paced,
intense adventure music.
Production Techniques (approx. 150 words)
What specialist techniques do you need to consider? (e.g. green screen, Steadicam, post-
production, sound, etc)
Does this require any specialist equipment/training/demos?
I won’t be using a green screen because I will be taking my photos in front of a wall near where I
live, this is so I can get it done during the Christmas holidays, then I will be able to add the
characters to my magazine cover. I will need my phone to record my sounds for my video game,
and my cutscene dialogue. I also will need photoshop to do the video game, cutscene and
magazine cover, which is why it is important I get my work completed on time in college. I will get
my sound effects at home by doing fast paced steps, slow paced steps, dialogue, water splashing
sounds etc.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
How do you plan to evaluate the work? Reference conducting on-going evaluation and your final
self-reflection, analysing your work and its outcomes.
I will be self-evaluating my work with my production log, at the end of every day in college I go onto
my production log and write up what I have done that day and what I like about it, and what I need
to do the next day. Also, I include screenshots of what I have done too.
