Working Title:
Dream of Dreams
Audience:
My target audience is people aged 15-25 but mainly aimed towards women, the game will be
widely available to people of all social statuses if they have a game console like an Xbox or
PlayStation for the game to be played on. I have decided to aim my game towards 15-25-year-old
women is because I don’t think there are many video games targeted towards women even though
they take up about 41% of the gaming population. The age range goes up to 25 because the
average age of a professional gamer is 18-25.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
The planning from the music video project helped me to do the planning for this project because It
gave me an idea of what I had to do and how much writing was needed for each section. The
video editing skills I gained from making the music video will be useful when it comes to making
the cut scene for the game. I have also been working on my photoshop skills a lot recently so this
will be useful when I’m making the magazine cover and other movie/video game advertisements.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
My concept for the movie is a woman called ash takes part in a science experiment that goes
drastically wrong making her become trapped in her own dreams. The only way for Ash to get
back to this reality is for her to finish her dream but if she falls asleep in the dream, she will wake
up in a different dream with a new mission for her to complete to be able to get home. I’m going to
be making a video game based off the movie where each level is based off of a different dream.
The cut scene I am making will be of an archer in her dream briefly explaining to ash (the player of
the game) what they have to do to finish the dream and warning them not to fall asleep otherwise
they will have to start again. I will need to research other adventure games that are similar to the
one I want to make, I’ll be looking specifically at the types of gameplay, colour schemes and pixel
art. I also need to look at different types game advertisement and their layout like magazines,
billboards and movie/game posters.
Production Techniques (approx. 150 words)
For production I will need a computer with editing software such as photoshop installed. I will use
You Tube tutorials to learn different techniques and effects on photoshop to improve my skill set so
I can execute my ideas better when it comes to production. I will need to book out the photography
studio and a camera where I will also be using the green screen. This will mean I am able to work
on and improve my camera work/skills. I will need my phone so I can record the foley sound
effects for the game and record the speech for the cut scene.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
I am currently using a progress log to evaluate my work there is a different slide evaluating the
work I do each day saying what I do and don’t like about my work, how I can or did improve my
work and what I did to get to the point I’m at. For my final evaluation I will use a power point to
evaluate all the aspects I like and dislike, things I could have done differently, if I had to change
something from my original plan.
