Working Title:
What is it called? Location Change: On An Island
Audience:
Who is your audience?
My target audience will be the ages of 13-17 and the reason of that is because I think it is suitable
game for that age range as the game is not that violent to a point where it should be rated 18+ and
the game does not have a gender target as young teenage girls and boys can play willingly. I think
this age range is a perfect target for tis game as this age teenagers start to get interested in
gameplay or already have an interest in game play and especially in adventure game. As this
game has an adventure theme to it and being lost on an island seems interesting to that age
range.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
I think I have improved with my editing skills and being able to use adobe applications was a
struggle I had when started the creative media course and although I do think I would know more
and improved even more if it wasn’t for the current pandemic, we are facing but there’s nothing we
can do about it. But what I think has significant for my progress in doing media for the first time in
my life is watching tutorials on YouTube, YouTube has been a great help of trying new effects for
my projects as I would search it up the effects I want to try and I watch it then try it myself and of
course I wouldn’t get right the first time all the time, I would just try again or try to find a different
effect. Creative media has definitely opened my eyes about possible things I could do in the future,
it has also helped me experiment with different sides of media and gives an idea of what I like and
do not like about media. And as someone who has never done media, this course has been such
an eye opener of what media is like and yes although I am not getting the true authentic college
media experience, I am still delighted in the fact I get to do media on the first place. One thing I
think I definitely noticed that has impacted on my learning on media is there is fair amount of
planning you need to do when it comes to a new project and the ideas need to be realistic or have
ideas can be achieved and when I did my first project, I was stressed at the fact most of my ideas
were not going the way I had planned and I had adapt or completely change my ideas/concept of
my project.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
In this project I will be doing various things to appeal to the target audience. As in this project I will
be making:
- A Film Synopsis
- A Logo for the film with a tagline
- A Magazine cover
- Making advertisements such as making a magazine ad, billboard poster bus driver ad
- Making a menu screen, character design, a cut scene level design and sound design
With list stated above is things I will be making by myself. With the theme of adventure in this
project, I have decided to use a lot of colours that give the sense of adventure but also danger like
dark green, brown, dark blues and reds. With that colour scheme is most appealing and suitable
as most adventure films and games have those colours such as Indiana Jones, Avengers and etc.
The concept of my project is fitting to adventure theme but it’s additionally about survival which I
think is really appealing to an audience and at it is set in a high school setting which is the target
audience of this so there is a sense of relatability in there.
With research I don’t think I need that much of research as I am part of the age group this targeted
towards to, I like to think I have a good thought of what people arounds this age range will like and
will not like.

Production Techniques (approx. 150 words)
In this project I don’t think there will be specialist techniques I will be using as of the current
situations I am doing my project remotely and there’s only so much I can do if I was in college, I
think I would’ve been able to use products to make my ideas for my project even better. With
making the sound effects I will be using beep box to make my own songs for different scenes of
the game and film also I’ll be going outside and record the sounds effects with my phone for game
such as walking, running, jumping and etc. With doing sound effects I have had experience with it
before and I think I’ll be able to do it and maybe do it better than the first time did it. The equipment
I will be using my camera Canon 400d and my iPhone XR in case something happens to camera
such as it breaks or it not working or battery running out. And with editing my magazine, making a
poster, making the logo I will be using the Adobe Photoshop application.
What specialist techniques do you need to consider? (e.g. green screen, Steadicam, post-
production, sound, etc)
Does this require any specialist equipment/training/demos?
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
When evaluating my work, I will be asking for external feedback of what they liked about my
products and specifically what other people thought needed improvements. I will also ask them
how I could improve and alternatives to my original idea. And when self-reflecting my work, I most
likely have seen other people’s products of the same project I’m doing. So, I’ll have an image to
compare my work to and it’ll give insight of what I could’ve done better with my work.
