2. Initial Reaction
• I have a few ideas of what I could make, I was thinking of a game that’s like Mario
but the characters I was going to create would be based of an existing television
programme or movie, such as Game of Thrones or Breaking bad. My other idea
was a sort of ninja game and they have to jump from buildings and they play as a
ninja.
• I found in the experiment, that I quite enjoyed creating the game on Photoshop,
such as adding different frames and I quite enjoyed making the background as
well.
• I think when it comes to audio and fitting it in with the game it has to match the
theme and paste of the game so I need to work on doing that when I make it, I
also need to add sound effects as well, because that will make the game better to
play.
6. Mood Board Analysis
Is there any repetition in the images you have collected?
Repeated colours/images styles/fonts/tone/mood
- Snowy landscapes are repeated a lot in my images, so is the colour blue and white, the mood
of the images looks fantasy like. It also makes makes the game look like a survival game and
also a killing game, with the bow and arrow, and sword.
- The tone of it looks quite dark to me in some images, but in others it looks quite fun as well
but I think that’s because I chose quite a few cartoon images.
- The style of it looks quite like an old school video game, I included some Mario pictures in
there to try and set the style.
- How will your mood board influence your final product?
- My mood board has given me an idea of what kind of graphic style I want my game to be, as
well as setting the aesthetic of the game with the snow, because now I know I will include an
icy landscape for my game and possibly snow falling if I can do that.
- The images has also helped me have a better plan of what I want to do for my video game as
well, because I now have an idea of how I want to design my characters and what the
gameplay is going to be like.
