Project proposal title and date:
Top Films Magazine. This will include upcoming 2021 films, audience’s favourite films and my own
film idea. ‘Escape’ Film Trailer and Advert. This will include my own idea called ‘Escape’ which is
an action and adventure film that I will make a trailer for.
Main area of activity:
Graphic Design, as I am making a magazine. Video Production, as I am making a film trailer.
Rationale:
This year so far, I have made and learned a lot about music videos, I used PremierePro to make
my music video to the song ‘Gods Plan’ by Drake, I also did a lot of research and planning for it so
that will help me with the pre-production on this FMP. I also did the adventure project unit, where I
made a video game animation on photoshop, as well as graphic design on Photoshop with
magazine covers and posters, this is good because I am producing my work on Photoshop, so I
already have some experience working on this software and I also have knowledge on it from our
last project. I am the right person to make my own film magazine and film trailer because I have
some experience using Photoshop and PremierePro and I have a good idea of what I want both to
be like, and my location / date for filming my video production part. It will be a Sunday a few weeks
into production and filmed in Malton in a forest.
Project Concept:
My concept is a film magazine. I will have a front cover, contents page, pages with information,
reviews etc and back cover. I will be making this about films coming out soon, and films that are
already out, and about my own film idea. I did research and made a magazine cover last project
for my adventure game, so I know what aspects of the magazine covers are important, the title,
background, colour etc. I will also do more research about the other parts of the magazine,
including the contents page, the back cover and the pages inside with all the writing and
information. Also, I am going to do an experiment on photoshop for my back cover because I
haven’t done one before, and include images, information about the magazine etc. I am also doing
video production, I will make a trailer and tv advert for my own film idea called ‘Escape’ which is an
adventure and action film about a group of friends having a normal day, until they meet a
mysterious character who chases them through a forest, and they need to escape before it is too
late. My tv advert will be shorter, and I am aiming for 30 – 45 seconds and 2 minuites for my trailer,
as these are similar to other tv adverts and trailers I have seen in the action and adventure genres.
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed:
I will evaluate my work in my post-production after I’ve finished all my work before the deadline, I
will evaluate what I think went well and what I could do better next time in all parts of my work. I
will also do daily reflections on a Word document, which will include what work I have done,
screenshots, main successes in the work, difficulties and what I will do next.

Week Tasks to be Completed: Specific Tasks
1 Initial Ideas and Proposal  Complete the initial ideas PowerPoint and
Proposal word document in detail anf start getting
ideas together for my production, which is
graphic design and video production (magazine
and trailer/advert).
2 Research  Research different film magazine covers,
contents pages, back covers for my existing
products and annote them, this is to get some
ideas for my own magazine. Also, I will do my
questionnaire analysis which includes my
audience research on google forms, I will ask
questions relevant to my work so I can get
answers that I can use in my production,
including films I should write about for my
audience’s favourite films section, and what
stands out the most in a front cover so I can keep
it in mind when I am creating my own, favourite
genres, films etc. My target audience is
teenagers and people in my class and my friends
age 16 – 17 will be answering, and this is my age
demographic primary target audience.
3 Research  Continue my research by interviewing my target
audience, and ask them questions relevant to my
production I will need to know, about genres, if
they like or dislike certain shows, and questions
about my magazine idea. I will also do my
biblography too to reference my work. I will do
experiments for my pre-production too, I will use
photoshop to make a back cover and contents
page as I haven’t made them before so I will
need experience and need to experiment on
them so I can get an idea what mine could look
like.
4 Pre-production & Planning  I will plan my whole magazine from start to finish
including my front cover, contents page,
magazine double page spreads, back cover etc. I
will do this on my pre-production PowerPoint.
This will include my layout plans for all of these,

colour schemes, risk assessments etc incase if
anything goes wrong. I will also plan my trailer
that I will do on PremierPro, including the risk
assessments, equipment lists (which includes my
clothes I will wear, props, things to edit etc), my
shot list and storyboard which will be important
when getting footage and filming for my trailer.
5 Production  I will start my production on this week, and I will
make good progress and complete my contents
page, and complete some double page spreads
too, this is because I am getting my photos for
my front cover and back cover which is based on
my own film idea, on this weekend. Therefore I
will complete as much as I can before getting the
photos for my front and back cover for the next
week. The double page spreads I will plan to do
will be for a few upcoming 2021 films. I will also
start my reflection word document for production
and write about what I did everyday, what went
successful, what difficulties, what I will do next
etc.
6 Production  I will have my photos when I am in college for my
production this week, so I will make my front
cover and back cover, which will be about my
own film idea I am doing a trailer for. I will stick to
my planning and make them as eye-catching and
appealing as I can with a similar colour scheme
of green, brown, orange and yellow for both of
them. I will also be getting my footage for my
trailer/advert on this weekend, so my film crew
and actors who are in the trailer will be aware of
the time and date of filming and the location too,
which should be Sunday afternoon in my area.
7 Production  This week I will be aiming to finish my double
page spreads about audience favourite films, my
own film idea and exclusive interviews from the
actors in the trailer. I will have my footage for my
trailer in this week so I will be able to start editing
on Adobe PremierePro and make my trailer.
8 Production  I will finish my production, my TV advert which
will be shorter than my trailer, and make sure I
have finished all my magazine, and make
changes if I need to, this includes my front cover,
contents page, all 6 double page spreads, back
cover, trailer and tv advert.
9 Evaluation  Evaluate my work and write about it all on a
PowerPoint, and also complete reflections on my
work to make sure I can finish it to a high
standard.
