Existing Product
- This game has implements of fantasy but is
mostly inspired by Medieval European
history.
- The box art is more eye catching, having the
main characters in the centre of attention.
- The gameplay is very similar to what I want
to implement.
- The colours in the background are more
dim, with different shades of grey and blue,
to make the 2 main characters stand out
more, since they are the main characters of
the game.
- Takes place in olden Medieval times.
Existing Product
- The pure white and blue colours stand out
against the darker goldish background.
- The main characters stand out.
- Takes place in Medieval times.
- This product has similar ideas I really want to
use in my product.
Existing Product
- Shows a lot of the environment around
the characters.
- Fantasy theme.
- Similar gameplay to Fire Emblem.
- Brighter colours, with the green, the
whites and the blue.
- Similar themed characters, with a wizard,
archer, another magic user and a sword
using knight.
- The location that is shown could possibly
be an actual location in the game itself.
Existing Product
- Similar theme, with it being set within the fantasy genre.
- Has implements of turn base strategy, mostly with
attacks rather than movement and character placement.
- Takes place in Medieval Times.
- The box art is a castle inside of a blue orb thing, with a
sword and axe, possibly to represent the weapons that
would be used in the game, and a black background,
possibly to make everything stand out, and the font is in
a more classic Medieval style.
- The dark colours make the white brighter colours really
stand out and look appealing.
Research Analysis
• What common features do the researched products have?
– Similar colours, blue, green and a goldish yellow, to maybe fit with the
fantasy theme, as well as having pure colours to represent the good
characters, with the darker colours to represent the tone of the
games, or the evil characters.
– Use of characters, since the games are about them characters.
– The games have a similar turn based gameplay style.
• What aspects of the research will you include within your on work?
- The Fantasy theme of the various different fantasy style characters,
Pegasus’s, knights,.
- Colours will be similar, green for the grass, darker colours for the
background
- Maybe the layout with the characters up close, the location in the
background to establish where the game is set.

Research Evaluation
Research Evaluation
• Give an overview of how you conducted your research. Discuss the strengths and
weaknesses of each method
– Product Research
Strengths:
- Gather ideas I want to incorporate.
- Good for gathering information.
Weaknesses:
- Gathering the correct information can be quite hard depending on where you are looking.
- Misinformation.
- Hard to pick which product you want to look at.
– Questionnaires
Strengths:
- Good for getting general individual opinions.
- Nice and accurate mostly.
- Get the opinions off of other people.
Weaknesses:
- Can sometimes be inaccurate.
- Having to wait for the responses.
– Interviews
Strengths:
- Get more in-depth answers.
- More accurate opinions by other people.
- Have a conversation whilst doing so.
Weaknesses:
- Trying to set up a interview could be tricky sometimes.
- Incorrect information off of the person you are interviewing.
Research Evaluation
– What sort of a response did you get?
- Most people differed with their opinions.
- There was 4 answers in 2 questions which had the same percentage.
– How did you distribute your survey? Give an advantage and a disadvantage
- I distributed it by people finding it on the SurveyMonkey site itself, or the link I
posted in the Microsoft teams chat.
- One advantage could be that by copying and pasting the link to other places, it
was easier for people to find and fill out.
- One disadvantage could be having to wait for people to fill it out.

  • 2. Existing Product - This game has implements of fantasy but is mostly inspired by Medieval European history. - The box art is more eye catching, having the main characters in the centre of attention. - The gameplay is very similar to what I want to implement. - The colours in the background are more dim, with different shades of grey and blue, to make the 2 main characters stand out more, since they are the main characters of the game. - Takes place in olden Medieval times.
  • 3. Existing Product - The pure white and blue colours stand out against the darker goldish background. - The main characters stand out. - Takes place in Medieval times. - This product has similar ideas I really want to use in my product.

Existing Product - Shows a lot of the environment around the characters. - Fantasy theme. - Similar gameplay to Fire Emblem. - Brighter colours, with the green, the whites and the blue. - Similar themed characters, with a wizard, archer, another magic user and a sword using knight. - The location that is shown could possibly be an actual location in the game itself.
  • 5. Existing Product - Similar theme, with it being set within the fantasy genre. - Has implements of turn base strategy, mostly with attacks rather than movement and character placement. - Takes place in Medieval Times. - The box art is a castle inside of a blue orb thing, with a sword and axe, possibly to represent the weapons that would be used in the game, and a black background, possibly to make everything stand out, and the font is in a more classic Medieval style. - The dark colours make the white brighter colours really stand out and look appealing.
