He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

3. What is Project Management?
The Association Of Project Management define project management as:
"Project management is the application of processes, methods, knowledge,
skills and experience to achieve the project objectives."
4. In other words:
Project management is the process of planning and managing events of a
given project.
Ensuring the project includes the required features is delivered on time,
within budget and meeting all pre-set requirements.
Projects needs to achieve the following in order to be successful:
Objectives (milestones)
Acceptance Criteria
Timescale
Budget
5. The Project Management Triangle
Before creating the project plan, we need to understand the relationship
between time, cost, scope and quality.
Any limitations to the project will have an impact on the other parts of the
project management triangle.
6. Scope
Is the requirements for the project being developed. (analysis stage)
Just like the software development process, project management uses the
waterfall model and any subsequent changes to the scope will impact time,
cost to the project because more time and more resources will be required to
deliver the project to the same required level of quality.
7. Time and Cost
Time is the amount of time it takes to complete the project, to the scope
requirements, within budget and to the required quality.
Cost is the budget for the project. If the budget changes then less or more
can done.
An increase in budget may increase the quality of the work to be done, allow
more to be achieved (increased scope) or for the work to be completed in less
time.
The Agile Scrum method is used as it removes unwanted requirements and
replaces them with new ones, a product backlog is created.
8. Scheduling
The schedule of the project depends on the order in which the tasks are to be
completed.
In any project, before tasks can be carried out the requirements will
determine where on the timeline these tasks will appear.
If there are tasks that do not depend on each other, then they can be
distributed with the team and completed at the same time.
Interactive Modules are not dependent on each other.
Resource scheduling may be required when the same resource is required of
different tasks.
9. Gantt Chart and Evaluation
Used to show the timeline schedule:
The beginning an end of the entire project – critical path of project (no gaps)
The start and end of an activity – including dates
The duration of each task - float
Where the activities overlap in time
Dependencies between tasks
The reason for creating a Gantt chart and for planning all activities within the
project is to ensure that it is delivered on time and within budget.
10. Project Monitoring and Management Tool
The project manager uses all documents as a base line plan for the project.
The progress of the project is checked against the base line plan and
adjustments made as required:
Allocating more resources to help get back on schedule (additional costs to client)
Speak to the client about the timescale
11. Goal Tracking
Each aspect of the project needs to be monitored and evaluated.
Each project has a set of goals which need to be tracked.
Each goal is monitored to ensure it is completed effectively.
Product Backlog – each item is identified as project goal to be achieved.
