3. Education In Pakistan
In Pakistan the education system is three tier:
1: Elementary (grade 1-8) Elementary education in
Pakistan has two stages :
Primary stage: it comprises classes 1-5 and enrolls student of age group 5+
to 9+….
Middle stage: A three year Middle stage consists of classes 6 to 8
corresponding to age group 10+ to 12+
2: Secondry (grade 9-12) has two stages:
High (grades nine and ten,leading to the secondary school certificate)
Intermediate (grades eleven and twelve ,leading to a higher secondary school
certificate)
3: University programs:leading to graduate and advance
degrees.
4. Higher Education Curriculum
The higher education curriculum in Pakistan is the function of the
respective departments of the university or colleges.

5. Role of Ministry of Education
The 1976 act of parliament authorized the Ministry of education (MOC) To
appoint competent Authorities to perform the curriculum Function.
The main function of the ministry of education is
to plan and review the National Curriculum and to
make it more vibrant and responsive to the
modern socio-economic ,technical ,professional
and labor market needs of the country and
comparable with international standards
6. Curriculum Wings
The fedral Government through notification in 1976
nominated the curriculum wings of the ministry of
education as the competent authority for classes 1-12
and the University grand commission.

7. Text Book Board
Textbook board (PTTB)of one in each province.Within
their respective jurisdictions ,these PTTBs are responsible
for preparing,publishing,stocking,distributing and
marketing school textbooks
The provincial textbook in addition to
development of textbook,are conducting
the following function:
Research and surveys of textbook by the staff of textbook
board.
Training of authors, Writers, designers, etc.Of the
textbook.
