SUMMARY OF STRENGTH
20 + years of experience in education and program development, with an in-depth knowledge of
school education reform system in general and teacher education theory and technique specifically,
my interest spark to leverage my experience while continuing to be challenged. My background as
trend setting educational instructor at teacher training institutes and holding multiple positions in
Educational Administration and Management represent a unique combination of disciplines.
Personally, I have the drive and determination to consistently achievesuccess as I have proved as a
leader in all of the organizations that I have worked with in the past. My strengths include but not

A general overview of major career achievements in different areas is given below;
EDUCATION
Formal/Non Formal Education: developed & implemented formal education interventions to
reform the teacher education and general education system in Pakistan specificallyProvince Punjab.
The reforms introduced include; Teacher education curriculum review and development,
practicum, teachers’ standards, programs accreditation, teachers licensing body, Skills based
teachers’ training for secondary school science teachers of KPK, study non formal basic education
in underperforming districts of Punjab and make recommendations.
Educational Planning: Supported in planning the secondary school science teachers’ training
program one of its kind in province KPK Pakistan, Supported the public sector school education
system to develop the public policy for education, designing, planning, piloting and implementing
the new teacher education degree program in all (9) public sector Universities and (33) colleges
across province Punjab Pakistan. Effectively conducted follow up of the strategic plans of the 9
Public sector Universities through participatory assessment process. Supported in developing,
introducing, improving, implementing and following up the Institution development plan in 20
teacher training institutes across the province Punjab. Effectively planned, and arranged capacity
enhancement activities for planners and managers at all tiers of government and nongovernment
educational organizations, leading to effective strategies and practices to accelerate gender parity
and equality in education.

Assessment in Education: Contributed in developing training module on assessment for teacher
educators and teachers sponsored by EDC/Pre-STEP (2010). Trained a team of 23 master trainers
of DSD-SED, Govt. of the Punjab (2010), on Blooms’ taxonomy based assessment. Conducted
training for over 400 teaching faculty from 9 public sector Universities and 20 GCETs in Punjab
(2010-2013)on assessment. Developed assessment material for student teachers of B.Ed. program
sponsored by CIDA/CP-BEP (2007-2008). Selected as one of three members of the pioneer
committee established by Govt. of the Punjab to work on developing test items, based on SOLO
taxonomy for primary level (2005). Lead trainer for training master trainers on SOLO taxonomy
(2005-2006). Contributed in development and conduct of teachers’ assessment by SED-Govt. of
the Punjab (2000). Developed mock tests for various private schools on O’LEVEL Chemistry and
Biology (1999-2006).
CAPACITY BUILDING
Designing the subject based and capacity development material:
Technical advisor for material development on Chemistry and Biology for Secondary school
Science Teachers under Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Sector Program-KESP sponsored by
DFID (Dec 2015-Jul 2016). Author Mathematics textbooks grade 2 and 3 being published by
Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board PCTB and sponsored by DFID (2016-17). Contributed to
the designing, piloting and improving the professional development training modules for teacher
educators, student teachers and school teachers under the USAID-Teacher Education
Project(2009-2013), Materials Development Specialist (Science, Math) for "EQuiPP" (Educational
Quiz Preparatory Pack), a support material for B.Ed. students of Punjab, sponsored by CIDA/CP-
BEP Canada Pakistan-Basic Education Project (2007-2008). Consultant on Professional Practice
Manual (Practicum Guides for University faculty, College teachers, School teachers and B.Ed.
students) development by CP-BEP (2006-2007).
Development Plan: Successfully undertaken needs assessment and facilitating capacity
development plans for secondary school science teachers in KPK (2015-16). Successfully
undertaken capacity-enhancement, needs assessment and facilitating capacity development plans
and activities for the teacher educators across province Punjab (2009-2014). Developed and
implemented an integrated follow up plan for around 400 teacher educators across province
Punjab.
Training Skills: Designed, developed and conducted hundreds of training sessions for public
sector and private sector teachers range from primary to post graduate level. Built initial program
of workshops and developed a highly visible and well-respected resource for the desired audience.
Delivered professional development sessions for the teacher educators from 35 Universities and
colleges and set commendable standards for the training events. Designed and delivered needs
based training sessions on mentoring and feedback. Designed and delivered capacity building
programs for in-service teachers under DSD (Directorate of Staff Development Punjab-the apex
body for public sector teachers in Punjab) initiatives.
Resource Mobilization: Identified, interviewed, recruited, and hired top material development
specialists, trainers and instructors for specific provincial level and local workshops for teachers,
teacher educators and educational managers in provinces Punjab and KPK.
ToTs-Training of trainers: Identified, selected on merit and successfully trained 37 master
trainers for conducting training for science teachers in KPK, Identified, selected and successfully
trained 43 master trainers from the Universities and DSD on a series of professional development
modules on pedagogy, alternate assessment, developing mentoring skills, materials development
and evaluation mechanism.
Public Speaker: Selected as moderator, speaker, workshop leader and panelist for numerous career
development forums at national and international conferences/seminars
Recruitment in Education: Interviewed, recruited and operationalized teams for Education
related projects

Designed and conducted TNA for developing science training program, Data analysis and
recommendations for PITE-Department of Elementary and Secondary Education KPK, Merit
based selection of material development specialists in the subject of Biology, Chemistry and
Physics, Pilot-review and develop Resource pack for science teachers (the resource pack contains the
active learning based lesson plans on selected topics from TNA report, DVDs of the recorded and downloaded videos
supporting the lessons, list of equipment and other material required for effective delivery of lessons, instructions for
head teachers and teachers for effectiveuse of the resource material), Identified and selected merit based master

Support Teacher Training Institutes currently offering the new degree programs to strengthen
strategic planning and management capacity. Strengthen faculty capacity to deliver the new degree
programs through series of professional development workshops and onsite follow up. Follow up,
support and monitor the progress on College Improvement plans CIPs developed during
USAID/Teacher Education Project. Support and coordinate efforts to develop and integrate
reading instruction curricula and assessment into degree programs and continuing PD (CPD).

Support the efforts of the school education department to develop teacher certification and
licensing programs. Support efforts of TTIs to provide students with opportunities for revised
practicums in primary schools. Provide scholarships and mentoring to students seeking higher
education. Identify and coordinate to train material developers for new reading and instructional
material, and develop a mechanism to institutionalize reading and instructional material
development processes at the provincial level. Support innovative approaches of learning material
development, such as teacher-generated materials, sponsorship of child or community authors, and
turning local oral histories into storybooks. Support materials that promote a culture of tolerance
and inclusion, boost the concept of safe (girl-friendly) schools, provide disaster preparedness
guidance, and reinforce other messages deemed by Pakistani counterparts to have social value

Support Deans, Department Directors, Principals of Colleges and faculty in implementing
Professional Development Plans. Development of College Improvement Plans for 33 TTIs.
Participate and facilitate the design of assessment tasks and marking criteria for coursework in
affiliated universities and colleges for each semester. Plan professional development activities for
faculty in university and colleges in the Punjab province. Facilitate/conduct TEP training and
other professional development activities with partner college and university faculty. Ensure and
take part in, a program of regular on-site follow up, support and mentoring for teacher educators in
colleges and universities. Monitor the the quality of professional development activitiesprovided by
government and university trainers and take action to make improvements as required. Help
establish and support professional networks of teacher educators (within and between institutions)
to share experiences of learning and teaching and to provide peer support for professional
development. Ensure that training and other professional development activities are documented as
per TEP protocols. Collect and analyze information to monitor and evaluate professional
development activities for M&E team. Review and provide feedback on the design of professional
development activities and materials. Lead identification of trainers in provincial government
teacher education management institutions and universities to lead the roll out of the ADE
(Associate Degree in Education) and B.Ed.Hons. Via co-preparation, co-facilitation and reviews of
professional development activities, enhance capacity of provincial government and university
master trainers to support faculty implementing the ADE/B.Ed. Monitor the performance of non-
government training partners working with Pre-STEP against their scope of work and recommend
action to the Sr. Technical Director where there are problems. Identify college and university
faculty and others within the province to contribute to curriculum development. Participate in/help
organize and facilitate curriculum development activities at national level. Organize and help
facilitate curriculum development activities within the province, and orientation training to use the
new curriculum. Provide suggestions and recommendations to provincial apex body for teacher
education on policy matters. Provide technical support to the Professional Development team.
Coordinate within the office to ensure that the Professional Development team receives adequate
administrative support. Conduct an annual performance review for all PD specialists. Ensure that
complete and adequate records of training and other professional development activities are
maintained and accessible in provincial office. Meet regularly with the apex institutions of education
in Punjab province for planning and sharing professional development activities

 Voluntarily trained a number of gardeners and nurseries’ owners on the horticultural plants
species, their mass propagation, pest control and marketing
 Designed and developed the land scape of a number of farm houses, town houses,
institutions and public parks
 Learned the rearing of livestock and milk dairies at rural level and problems faced by the
farmers
 Learned the farm to market chain for the dairy and livestock products and the areas of
improvement for the farmers
 Owned a few cattle to understand the problems of the field
 Establishment of Research and Training Centre (RTC-2007) at GCET Lahore first of its

The reforms introduced include; Teacher education curriculum review and development, practicum, teachers’ standards, programs accreditation, teachers licensing body, Skills based teachers’ training for secondary school science teachers of KPK, study non formal basic education in underperforming districts of Punjab and make recommendations. Educational Planning: Supported in planning the secondary school science teachers’ training program one of its kind in province KPK Pakistan, Supported the public sector school education system to develop the public policy for education, designing, planning, piloting and implementing the new teacher education degree program in all (9) public sector Universities and (33) colleges across province Punjab Pakistan. Effectively conducted follow up of the strategic plans of the 9 Public sector Universities through participatory assessment process. Supported in developing, introducing, improving, implementing and following up the Institution development plan in 20 teacher training institutes across the province Punjab. Effectively planned, and arranged capacity enhancement activities for planners and managers at all tiers of government and nongovernment educational organizations, leading to effective strategies and practices to accelerate gender parity and equality in education.
  • 2. 2 2 Assessment in Education: Contributed in developing training module on assessment for teacher educators and teachers sponsored by EDC/Pre-STEP (2010). Trained a team of 23 master trainers of DSD-SED, Govt. of the Punjab (2010), on Blooms’ taxonomy based assessment. Conducted training for over 400 teaching faculty from 9 public sector Universities and 20 GCETs in Punjab (2010-2013)on assessment. Developed assessment material for student teachers of B.Ed. program sponsored by CIDA/CP-BEP (2007-2008). Selected as one of three members of the pioneer committee established by Govt. of the Punjab to work on developing test items, based on SOLO taxonomy for primary level (2005). Lead trainer for training master trainers on SOLO taxonomy (2005-2006). Contributed in development and conduct of teachers’ assessment by SED-Govt. of the Punjab (2000). Developed mock tests for various private schools on O’LEVEL Chemistry and Biology (1999-2006). CAPACITY BUILDING Designing the subject based and capacity development material: Technical advisor for material development on Chemistry and Biology for Secondary school Science Teachers under Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Sector Program-KESP sponsored by DFID (Dec 2015-Jul 2016). Author Mathematics textbooks grade 2 and 3 being published by Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board PCTB and sponsored by DFID (2016-17). Contributed to the designing, piloting and improving the professional development training modules for teacher educators, student teachers and school teachers under the USAID-Teacher Education Project(2009-2013), Materials Development Specialist (Science, Math) for "EQuiPP" (Educational Quiz Preparatory Pack), a support material for B.Ed. students of Punjab, sponsored by CIDA/CP- BEP Canada Pakistan-Basic Education Project (2007-2008). Consultant on Professional Practice Manual (Practicum Guides for University faculty, College teachers, School teachers and B.Ed. students) development by CP-BEP (2006-2007). Development Plan: Successfully undertaken needs assessment and facilitating capacity development plans for secondary school science teachers in KPK (2015-16). Successfully undertaken capacity-enhancement, needs assessment and facilitating capacity development plans and activities for the teacher educators across province Punjab (2009-2014). Developed and implemented an integrated follow up plan for around 400 teacher educators across province Punjab. Training Skills: Designed, developed and conducted hundreds of training sessions for public sector and private sector teachers range from primary to post graduate level. Built initial program of workshops and developed a highly visible and well-respected resource for the desired audience. Delivered professional development sessions for the teacher educators from 35 Universities and colleges and set commendable standards for the training events. Designed and delivered needs based training sessions on mentoring and feedback. Designed and delivered capacity building programs for in-service teachers under DSD (Directorate of Staff Development Punjab-the apex body for public sector teachers in Punjab) initiatives.
