The Student
My name is Riamae V.
Jardin. I was born on
January 7, 1997,19 years of
age. Currently residing at
Poblacion West Moalboal,
Cebu.
I'm a third year
student taking up
Bachelor of
Elementary
Education Major in
Content at Cebu
Technological
University Moalboal,
Campus.
“When Can Technology be harmful to man?
 Mobile phone is handy in dealing, talking,
making video film, e – mailing, and sending pictures.
Mobile phone are being extensively used by students
at all levels, doctors, engineers, service man,
jobbers, and common man and woman in their day to
day activities. It is used for a variety of purposes,
including keeping touch with family members,
conducting business and having access to a
telephone in event of an emergency.
 The student are just addicted to mobile
phones and they can be seen playing games,
chatting to their friends most of the times. That’s
why they don’t have time for their studies and in
facts, students are more interested in wasting their
time rather spending it on studying.

Is technology a boon or bane?
“Technology is in our hands. We can use it to build or destroy.
Boon – means a blessing.
Example: It encourages innovation and creativity.
Bane – means a curse.
Example: It can cause laziness, or being too dependent.
Technology
Refers to the systematic ways of applying technique as
well as the use of inventions and discoveries to satisfy
people’s desire.
Traditional way – as delivery vehicles for instructional lessons.
The learners learns from the technology and the technology serves
as a teacher.
Technology serves as a partner in learning.
Technology serves as sources and presenter of knowledge.
It is assumed that knowledge is embedded in the technology
presents that knowledge to a students.
Technology like computers is seen as productivity tool.
Constructivist way – as partner in the learning process.
Educational technology serves as learning tools to learn with.
It engages learners in active, constructive, intentional,
authentic and cooperative learning.
It provides opportunities for technology and learner interaction for
meaningful learning.
ROLES OF
TECHNOLOGY
IN LEARNING
1. TECHNOLOGY as tools to support knowledge
construction:
For representing learner’s ideas, understanding and beliefs.
For producing organized, multimedia knowledge bases by learners.
2. Technology as information vehicles for exploring
knowledge to support learning – by – constructing:
For accessing needed information.
For comparing perspectives, beliefs and world views.
3. Technology as complex to support learning – by –
doing:
For representing and simulating meaningful real – world
problems situations and contexts.
For defining a safe, controllable problem space for student
thinking.
4. Technology as a social medium to support learning by
conversing:
For collaborating with others.
For discussing, arguing and building consensus among members
of community.
Technology as intellectual partner to support
learning – by – reflecting:
For reflecting on what they have learned and how they came
to know it.
For helping what learners to articulate and represent what
they know.

domain, and inferring rules

Is a learning with a
purpose, learning which
allows those who
engage in it to attach
more meaning to the
world around them,
learning in which things
make more sense.
The first rule of any
technology used in a
business is that automation
applied to an efficient
operation will magnify the
efficiency. The second is
that automation applied to
an inefficient operation will
magnify the inefficiency.

  • 4. My name is Riamae V. Jardin. I was born on January 7, 1997,19 years of age. Currently residing at Poblacion West Moalboal, Cebu.
  • 5. I'm a third year student taking up Bachelor of Elementary Education Major in Content at Cebu Technological University Moalboal, Campus.
  • 6. “When Can Technology be harmful to man?  Mobile phone is handy in dealing, talking, making video film, e – mailing, and sending pictures. Mobile phone are being extensively used by students at all levels, doctors, engineers, service man, jobbers, and common man and woman in their day to day activities. It is used for a variety of purposes, including keeping touch with family members, conducting business and having access to a telephone in event of an emergency.  The student are just addicted to mobile phones and they can be seen playing games, chatting to their friends most of the times. That’s why they don’t have time for their studies and in facts, students are more interested in wasting their time rather spending it on studying.
  • 7. EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY A complex, integrated process involving people, procedures, ideas, devices, and organization for analyzing problems and devising, implementing, evaluating, and managing solutions to those problems involved in all aspects of human learning.
  • 8. Is technology a boon or bane? “Technology is in our hands. We can use it to build or destroy. Boon – means a blessing. Example: It encourages innovation and creativity. Bane – means a curse. Example: It can cause laziness, or being too dependent.
  • 9. Technology Refers to the systematic ways of applying technique as well as the use of inventions and discoveries to satisfy people’s desire. Traditional way – as delivery vehicles for instructional lessons. The learners learns from the technology and the technology serves as a teacher. Technology serves as a partner in learning. Technology serves as sources and presenter of knowledge. It is assumed that knowledge is embedded in the technology presents that knowledge to a students. Technology like computers is seen as productivity tool.

Constructivist way – as partner in the learning process. Educational technology serves as learning tools to learn with. It engages learners in active, constructive, intentional, authentic and cooperative learning. It provides opportunities for technology and learner interaction for meaningful learning.
  • 12. 1. TECHNOLOGY as tools to support knowledge construction: For representing learner’s ideas, understanding and beliefs. For producing organized, multimedia knowledge bases by learners. 2. Technology as information vehicles for exploring knowledge to support learning – by – constructing: For accessing needed information. For comparing perspectives, beliefs and world views.

Technology as complex to support learning – by – doing: For representing and simulating meaningful real – world problems situations and contexts. For defining a safe, controllable problem space for student thinking. 4. Technology as a social medium to support learning by conversing: For collaborating with others. For discussing, arguing and building consensus among members of community.
  • 14. Technology as intellectual partner to support learning – by – reflecting: For reflecting on what they have learned and how they came to know it. For helping what learners to articulate and represent what they know.

  • 19. Constructivism Is a the theory of knowledge that argues that humans generate knowledge and meaning from an interaction between their experience and their ideas.
  • 20. Generative Learning Is theory that involves the action integration of new ideas with the learner’s existing schemata.
  • 21. Discovery Learning Is a type where learner’s construct their own knowledge by experimenting with a domain, and inferring rules from the results of these experiments.
  • 22. Meaningful learning Is a learning with a purpose, learning which allows those who engage in it to attach more meaning to the world around them, learning in which things make more sense.
