INTRODUCTION
Some say that the educational technology is a barrier or
destruction in learning. Computer technology and
Internet is a very important tool in transforming the
traditional classroom into one that is learner-
centered. We cannot deny the fact that the modern
students are into the technology and gadgets, so the
best way to learn all the stuff inside the classroom is
the integration of technology in learning.
Educational Technology is a field of study
which is concerned with the practice of
using educational methods and
resources for the ultimate goal of
facilitating the learning process.
WHAT IS EDUCATIONALTECHNOLOGY?
ļ¶Educational technology is a ā€œcomplex, integrated
process involving people, procedures,ideas,devices
and organization for analyzing problems and
devising,implementing evaluating and managing
solutions to those problems involved in all aspects
of human learning.ā€
ļ¶Educational technology is a profession like teaching.
ļ¶Educational technology ā€œconsists of the designs and
environments that engage learners and reliable
techniques or method for engaging learning such as
cognitive learning srategies and critical thinking
skills.ā€
TECHNOLOGY: BOON OR BANE?
After understanding what educational
technology is all about, it may be good to
reflect on whether this thing called
technology is a boon or a bane to education,
a blessing or a curse to education.
TECHNOLOGY IS BOON
ā€¢ It can make us feel
comfortable and make things
go faster
ā€¢ Make our daily lives become
convenience
ā€¢ It benefits human beings in
many areas such as work,
communication, health and
leisure
ā€¢ You will be closer to someone
miles and miles away when it
comes in communicating,etc.
TECHNOLOGY IS BANE
ā€¢ Made humans to reliant on
them
ā€¢ Can harm the environment
to a certain extent as they
all need power to operate
ā€¢ Radiation will harm people
ā€¢ Can make userā€™s mind lazy,
etc.
Technology is a blessing for man.
With technology there is a lot that
we can do which we could not do
then.
Information Technology is transmitting, sharing,
comprehend knowledge through the use of
technology.
The focus of ICT is the instructional medias that the
learners and teachers can use to acquire learning and
information about a specific lesson.
Information and Communication Technology
(ICT)
Hypermedia
Hypermedia is a multimedia. It is a educational
computer software where information is shown and
student activities are integrated in a virtual learning
environment.
In using hypermedia, you can get the learners'
attention, recall prior learning, guide and access the
learning and performance of the student.
Cooperative Learning with the
Computer
The goverment cannot provide the appropriate
number of computers. The cooperative learning will
be the answer to the implementation of IT in schools.
In a way that the students can use one computer by 2-
3 students.
Coopertive Learning is a leraning by small group of
students who work together in a particular task.
Computer as a Tutor
Computer can be a tutor in a way that it can be
used in facilitate the learning process of the student.
Student can follow easily the flow of the discussion of
a teacher when they are using computer/technologies.
The computer is just a guide for the student to be
more knowledgable in a specific topic.
Computer as a Teacher Tool
The teacher can employ the computer as
information tool, communocation tool, constructive
tool, co-constructive tool and situating tool.
The computer can provide access information,
foster creative social knowldege building , and
enhance the communication. Also it can help the
teachers and students to focus on more high level
cognitive tasks.

learning.

for the learner to become aware, appreciative and
equipped to use educational technology 1 tools
ranging from traditional to modern educational
media.
Truly, the foundation for a truly satisfying
exposure to educational technology has been firmly
laid down by the ET- 1 course, starting with the
through treatment of the history of educational
technology, quality education, and the roles of ET in
the 21th millennium.
LEARNING THROUGH EDTECH1
AND EDTECH2
ā€¢ There are many reasons why educational technology
is very important. There is a purpose why educational
technology is taught in schools. Because educational
technology 1 and 2 wants the student to know what is
the use and how to use the instructional media in
relation to education/teaching
ā€¢ Using instructional material is an effective way of
engaging the students to the real world situation.
Nowadays, the teahers are discussing their lesson
with the use of instructional medias Also, based on
observation, the technology help us to have a better
learning. We can easily understand and receive the
information.
ā€¢ Using instructional material is an effective way of

use of instructional medias so that the computer will
never replace the teacher. The teacher must be the one
who will manipulate the computer, it is just a material
that will help the teacher and the student to be more
connected to one another.
ā€¢ Educational technology 2 is concerned with ā€œIntegrating
Technology into Teaching and Learning.ā€ Specifically this is
focused on introducing, reinforcing, supplementing and
extending the knowledge and skills to learners so that
they can become exemplary users of educational
technology. Mainly directed to student teachers, also
professional teachers who may wish to update their
knowledge of educational technology, it is our goal that
this course can help our target learners to weave
technology in teaching with software (computer
programmed learning materials) becoming a natural
extension of their learning tools.
THE STUDENT AFTER
EDTECH
ā€¢ Today, the students are called the 21st century
learners. When we say 21st century learners the
students are living in a modern world who are using
end encountered technology in their everyday life.
They are individuals that can use technologies in
good way to have a better learning.
The 21st century learners are able to:
ā€¢ apply technology to their lives effectively, in a way they
can use it to learn better.
ā€¢ what is the importance of educational technology
ā€¢ know what is the purpose of the educational technology
ā€¢ make instructional material that is connected to a
particular topic
ā€¢ know the right way of using technology
ā€¢ know the limitations of using technology

  • 7. INTRODUCTION Some say that the educational technology is a barrier or destruction in learning. Computer technology and Internet is a very important tool in transforming the traditional classroom into one that is learner- centered. We cannot deny the fact that the modern students are into the technology and gadgets, so the best way to learn all the stuff inside the classroom is the integration of technology in learning.
  • 8. Educational Technology is a field of study which is concerned with the practice of using educational methods and resources for the ultimate goal of facilitating the learning process.

WHAT IS EDUCATIONALTECHNOLOGY? ļ¶Educational technology is a ā€œcomplex, integrated process involving people, procedures,ideas,devices and organization for analyzing problems and devising,implementing evaluating and managing solutions to those problems involved in all aspects of human learning.ā€
  • 10. ļ¶Educational technology is a profession like teaching. ļ¶Educational technology ā€œconsists of the designs and environments that engage learners and reliable techniques or method for engaging learning such as cognitive learning srategies and critical thinking skills.ā€
  • 11. TECHNOLOGY: BOON OR BANE? After understanding what educational technology is all about, it may be good to reflect on whether this thing called technology is a boon or a bane to education, a blessing or a curse to education.

TECHNOLOGY IS BOON ā€¢ It can make us feel comfortable and make things go faster ā€¢ Make our daily lives become convenience ā€¢ It benefits human beings in many areas such as work, communication, health and leisure ā€¢ You will be closer to someone miles and miles away when it comes in communicating,etc. TECHNOLOGY IS BANE ā€¢ Made humans to reliant on them ā€¢ Can harm the environment to a certain extent as they all need power to operate ā€¢ Radiation will harm people ā€¢ Can make userā€™s mind lazy, etc.

The focus of ICT is the instructional medias that the learners and teachers can use to acquire learning and information about a specific lesson. Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
  • 15. Hypermedia Hypermedia is a multimedia. It is a educational computer software where information is shown and student activities are integrated in a virtual learning environment. In using hypermedia, you can get the learners' attention, recall prior learning, guide and access the learning and performance of the student.
  • 16. Cooperative Learning with the Computer The goverment cannot provide the appropriate number of computers. The cooperative learning will be the answer to the implementation of IT in schools. In a way that the students can use one computer by 2- 3 students. Coopertive Learning is a leraning by small group of students who work together in a particular task.
  • 17. Computer as a Tutor Computer can be a tutor in a way that it can be used in facilitate the learning process of the student. Student can follow easily the flow of the discussion of a teacher when they are using computer/technologies. The computer is just a guide for the student to be more knowledgable in a specific topic.
  • 18. Computer as a Teacher Tool The teacher can employ the computer as information tool, communocation tool, constructive tool, co-constructive tool and situating tool. The computer can provide access information, foster creative social knowldege building , and enhance the communication. Also it can help the teachers and students to focus on more high level cognitive tasks.

Because educational technology 1 and 2 wants the student to know what is the use and how to use the instructional media in relation to education/teaching

Nowadays, the teahers are discussing their lesson with the use of instructional medias Also, based on observation, the technology help us to have a better learning. We can easily understand and receive the information.

  • 26. ā€¢ Educational technology 2 is concerned with ā€œIntegrating Technology into Teaching and Learning.ā€ Specifically this is focused on introducing, reinforcing, supplementing and extending the knowledge and skills to learners so that they can become exemplary users of educational technology. Mainly directed to student teachers, also professional teachers who may wish to update their knowledge of educational technology, it is our goal that this course can help our target learners to weave technology in teaching with software (computer programmed learning materials) becoming a natural extension of their learning tools.
