2. I am Maria Ericka Taruc
19 years old
Studying Bachelor of Secondary
Education Major in Filipino
at Bulacan State University
Future Educator
3.
4. Educational Technology 2 is concerned
with "Integrating Technology into
Teaching and Learning"
This is focused on integrating,
reinforcing, supplementing and
extending the knowledge and skills to
the learners.
5. • to provide education in the use of technology in instruction
• to impart learning experiences in instructional technology
• to acquaint students on Information Technology
• to learn to use and evaluate computer-based educational
resource;
• to engage learners on practical technology integration issues
• to inculcate higher level thinking and creativity
6.
7. There is a need to
prepare for bridging
the digital gap in
society. First, we
need to understand
the potentials of
ICT:
• The new network
of instantaneous
8. • Much of what elders
believe may not be
applicable anymore to
the new generation
10. Much of old technologies are quickly
vanishing today. Traditional education
systems and approaches become futile.
"If schools fail to respond
to emergent changes and
needs, new learners may
lose appreaciation of the
educational system..." -
Educational Technology 2
11. In the field of education, it us important that critical differences in
perceptions between old and young which create a generation gap need
to be discussed.
• Text versus Visuals
• Linear versus Hypermedia
• Independent versus Social learners
• Learning to do versus Learning to pass the test
• Delayed rewards versus Instant gratification
• Rote memory versus Fun learning
21. Entering the new world of information
and communication technology opens
the way for complex and higher
cognitive skills.
22.
23. By developing higher thinking skills, the
schools today can inculcate the digital
fluencies
The structured problem-solving process
known as 4Ds exemplifies the
instructional shift in digital learning:
• Define the problem
• Design the solution
• Do the work
• Debrief on the outcome
24.
25. Much like reading, the modern student can now interact
with computer messages, even response to questions or
to computer commands.
Like writing, the learner can form messages using
computer language or program
26. Within the first decade of 21st
century, computer technology
in education has matured to
transform into an educative
information and communication
technology (ICT) in education.
27.
28. Constructivism
was introduced by Piaget
(1981) and Bruner (1990)
They gave stress to
knowledge discovery of new
meaning/concepts/principles
in the learning process
Social constructivism
is an effort to show that the
construction of knowledge is
governed by social, historical
and cultural contexts.
29. Informative tool
The computer can provide vast amounts of information in various
forms such as text, graphics, sound and video
Constructive tool
The computer itself can be used for manipulating information,
visualizing one's understanding and building new knowledge.
Co-constructive tools
Students can use co-constructive tools to work cooperatively and
construct a shared understandingof new knowledge.
Situating tool
By means of virtual reality (RS) extension systems, the computer
can create 3-D images on display to give the user the feeling that
are situated in a virtual environment.

32. After discussing Educational Technology
2 this semester, I've learned a lot of things
about technologies more especially in using
computers. As time goes by changes always
occur. As a future educator I've learned that
I must know how to adapt in every changes
that is happening because change is very
constant. If I don't adapt on those changes
most particularly by the use of technologies in
teaching I will not be more effective. Also it
will affect the learnings of the students.
Because of Educational Technology 2 it helps
