When Can Technology Harmful to
Man?
A computer is an electronic digital
device emerged in the mid 1940’s and
have since entered most field of
human activity as tools for the storage
and processing of information
Rapid development of computer is
continuing to be embraced in the
whole place of our country. However
there are also advantages and
disadvantages of computer usage.
Technology: Boon or Bane?
Technology is boon or a
blessing to man when it is
used properly and does not
cause harm to man. More
over technology can be
considered boon also when it
gives comfort, save time ,
materials and energy.
Technology is Bane or a
curse when it is being abused
or misused. Like in the life of
a student, when this student
becomes addicted to a video
game that’s the time
technology is already a bane.
TECHNOLOGY:
 Serves as a TEACHER.
Serves as a source and
presenter of knowledge.
Technology like computers
is seen as productivity tool.
TECHNOLOGY:
Serves as a PARTNER IN
LEARNING.
Serves as learning tool to
learn with.
Engages learners in active ,
Constructive , intentional ,
authentic and cooperative
learning.
Edgar Dale’s
Cone of
Experience
Technology as tools to support
knowledge construction:
For representing
learner’s ideas,
understanding and
beliefs.
For producing organized
multimedia knowledge
bases by learners.
Technology as information vehicles
For exploringknowledge to support
Learning by constructing:
For accessing needed
information .
or comparing
perspectives, beliefs and
world views.
For collaborating with others.
For discussing, arguing , and
building consensus among
members of a community.
For supporting discourse
among knowledge-building
communities.
For helping what learners to
articulate and represent what
they know.
For reflecting on what they
have learned and how they
come to know it.
For supporting learners
internal negotiations and
meaning making.
For constructing personal
representations of meaning.
For supporting mindful
learning.

CONCEPTUAL MODEL OF LEARNING
Meaningful Learning – refers to the
concept that the learned knowledge is
fully the individual and that the
individual knows how that specific fact
relates to other stored facts. Rote
learning refers to a learning.
Discovery Learning – is a technique of
inquiry-based learning and is
considered a constructivist based
approach to education.
Generative Learning – is a theory that
involves the active integration of new
ideas with the learners existing
schemata.
Constructivism – is a theory of
knowledge that argues that humans
generate knowledge and meaning from
an interaction between their
experiences and their ideas.
I learned that Educational
Technology is a combination of the
processes and tools involved in
addressing educational needs and
problems with emphasis on
applying the most current tools:
computers and their related
technologies.
