My name is Mary Grace A. Sevilleno.
I was born on October 2, 1998. I am
17 years of age and a resident of
Kanguha, Dumanjug, Cebu.
I'm a third year student taking up
Bachelor of Elementary
Education Major in Content
Education at Cebu Technological
University – Moalboal Campus,
Moalboal, Cebu.

Educational Technology is a “complex,
integrated process involving people, procedures,
ideas, devices and organization for analyzing
problems and devising, implementing, evaluating
and managing the solutions to those problems
involved in all aspects of human learning."
What is Educational Technology?
Educational Technology is useful in school
for the learners to be an efficient and effective
individuals who are capable of adopting the
modernize and very competitive world,
nowadays. In this subject, the students will learn
how to use technology in acquiring better learning
that can surely help the them in becoming a
successful one.
Technology in Education
It is the application of technology to
any of those processes involved in operating
the institutions which house the educational
enterprise.
Instructional Technology
It is a part of educational technology which
refers to those aspects of educational technology that
are concerned with instructions as constructed to
designs and operations of educational institutions.
It is also a field concerned with improving the
efficiency and effectiveness of instruction involving:
designing instruction and applying learning theory to
instructional design.
Technology Integration
It means using learning technologies to
introduce, reinforce, supplement and extend skills.
Educational Media
These are channels or avenues or
instruments of communication.
It is the use of technology tools in general
content areas in education in order to allow
students to apply computer and technology skills
to learning and problem-solving.
Technology: Boon or Bane?
“Boon means a blessing. Technology is considered
to be a blessing when it helps a man to have a
comfortable and satisfying life that leads into an
enjoying living. It is certainly useful in man’s life and
with the aid of technology, works become easy and
fast.
“Bane means a curse. Technology becomes a
curse to man’s life if it will be abused and if it will
not be properly used by man. Technology gives a lot
of advantages to mankind but once it is abused,
disadvantages of it do occur like addiction, health
problems, negative influence and poor interaction to
people.”
The Roles
Of
Education in Learning
Traditional Way
The learner learns from the technology and
the technology serves as a TEACHER.
In the traditional way of learning, technology:
plays as the delivery vehicles for instructional
lessons.
assumes that “knowledge is embedded in
the technology and the technology presents
that knowledge to a student.”
like computers is seen as productivity
tool.
serves as source and presenter
of knowledge.
Constructivist Way
Technology serves as a PARTNER IN LEARNING.
Educational technology serves as learning tools to
learn with.
Engages learners in active, constructive,
intentional, authentic and cooperative learning.
It provides opportunities for
technology and learner interaction
for meaningful learning.

TECHNOLOGY IN LEARNING
Technology as tools to support knowledge construction.
Technology as information vehicles for exploring knowledge
to support learning-by-constructing.
Technology as context to support learning-by-doing.
Technology as a social medium to support learning by
conversing.
Technology as intellectual partner to
support learning-by-reflecting.
When used effectively, research indicates that
technology:
1. augments motivation to learn to learn;
2. encourages collaborative learning;
3. supports the development of critical thinking
skills; and
4. supports the development of problem
solving skills.

The world is moving towards technology at a
breakneck pace. That’s why educators have the
responsibility to introduce, encourage, and help students
master technology as it applies to school and the future.
So then, Educational Technology subject exists .
This subject aims to awaken the minds of every learner to
the importance and the usefulness of technology in our
daily living. This subject also, transforms an individual
into literate one who possess wide abilities and skills
about technology.
The technology is not only beneficial to the
learners but so with the teachers. It helps the teachers
to easily give chances to the students that can excel in
class by applying medias/computers in their learning
process. Through technology, teachers can easily
assess the learning of the students in just a short
period of time.
In addition, teachers must facilitate the
learners when engaging technology. They must
motivate and help students be aware of the advantages
and disadvantage of it, if it will not be properly used.
Technology can be blessing and at the same time a
curse.
The Student
After EDTECH
Nowadays, we are facing this so called
“Highly modernize world” where computers and
other technological devices are rampant. As
population increases, the more consumers of
technology will be existing for educational and
for household purposes or for entertainment.
As this generation continues, humankinds
are becoming more advance and the students are
now called “21st century learners.”
Where 21st century learners are able to:
• apply technology to their lives effectively, in a way
they can use it to learn better.
• what is the importance of educational technology
• know what is the purpose of the educational
technology
• make instructional material that is connected to a
particular topic
• know the right way of using technology
• know the limitations of using technology
As a future teacher, I must get myself
literate with technology because I believe that I
can’t give what I don’t have. In order to give my
future students a better learning, I must be well
equipped with knowledge with the help of
technology as the best and easy source of
information. I must be the best as I can be.

Educational Technology is a “complex, integrated process involving people, procedures, ideas, devices and organization for analyzing problems and devising, implementing, evaluating and managing the solutions to those problems involved in all aspects of human learning." What is Educational Technology?
  • 8. Educational Technology is useful in school for the learners to be an efficient and effective individuals who are capable of adopting the modernize and very competitive world, nowadays. In this subject, the students will learn how to use technology in acquiring better learning that can surely help the them in becoming a successful one.
  • 9. Technology in Education It is the application of technology to any of those processes involved in operating the institutions which house the educational enterprise.
  • 10. Instructional Technology It is a part of educational technology which refers to those aspects of educational technology that are concerned with instructions as constructed to designs and operations of educational institutions. It is also a field concerned with improving the efficiency and effectiveness of instruction involving: designing instruction and applying learning theory to instructional design.
  • 11. Technology Integration It means using learning technologies to introduce, reinforce, supplement and extend skills. Educational Media These are channels or avenues or instruments of communication. It is the use of technology tools in general content areas in education in order to allow students to apply computer and technology skills to learning and problem-solving.

This subject aims to awaken the minds of every learner to the importance and the usefulness of technology in our daily living. This subject also, transforms an individual into literate one who possess wide abilities and skills about technology.
  • 29. The technology is not only beneficial to the learners but so with the teachers. It helps the teachers to easily give chances to the students that can excel in class by applying medias/computers in their learning process. Through technology, teachers can easily assess the learning of the students in just a short period of time.
  • 30. In addition, teachers must facilitate the learners when engaging technology. They must motivate and help students be aware of the advantages and disadvantage of it, if it will not be properly used. Technology can be blessing and at the same time a curse.

As this generation continues, humankinds are becoming more advance and the students are now called “21st century learners.”
