The Thermal Power Station burns fuel & uses the resultant to make the steam, which derives the turbo generator. The Fuel i.e. coal is burnt in pulverized from. The pressure energy of the steam produce is converted into mechanical energy with the help of turbine. The mechanical energy is fed to the generator where the magnet rotate inside a set of stator winding & thus electricity is produced in India 65% of total power is generated by thermal power stations. To understand the working of the Thermal Power Station plant, we can divide the whole process into following parts.

Here we report for the first time, a failed prediction of atpE gene knockout of no growth in the most recent E. coli reconstruction iJ01366 model, and a positive experimental growth on glucose, enabling a model-driven biological discovery of the underground metabolic function of this gene in E. coli metabolism. These findings unfolded what could be described as either scope gaps in the reconstruction or true biological gaps (knowledge gaps) on the missing atpE gene function in E. coli metabolism. This study informs other studies that the gaps could be pursued into the E. coli metabolism, leading to a model-driven discovery in the future.

Corrosion is a relevant problem caused by water in boilers. Corrosion can be of widely varying origin and nature due to the action of dissolved oxygen, to corrosion currents set up as a result of heterogeneities on metal surfaces, or to the iron being directly attacked by the water.
While basic corrosion in boilers may be primarily due to reaction of the metal with oxygen, other factors such as stresses, acid conditions, and specific chemical corrodents may have an important influence and produce different forms of attack.

8. Why the High Pressure Boiler ?
• Where 30 bar pressure & steam rate of 30 tones/hour is
required the fire tube boilers are preferred due to lower cost.
• In the power plant it is necessary to produce the steam at

27. Fluidized bed combustion Boiler
• Fluidized bed combustion (FBC) is a combustion technology
used to burn solid fuels.
• In its most basic form, fuel particles are suspended in a hot,
bubbling fluidity bed of ash and other particulate materials
(sand, limestone etc.) through which jets of air are blown to
provide the oxygen required for combustion or gasification.
• The resultant fast and intimate mixing of gas and solids
promotes rapid heat transfer and chemical reactions within
the bed.
• FBC plants are capable of burning a variety of low-grade solid
fuels, including most types of coal and woody biomass, at high
efficiency and without the necessity for expensive fuel
preparation (e.g., pulverising).

• Production of NOx is temperature depended as in FBC
temperature is less than other combustion processes Hence it
results in low production of NOx.
• Lower production of SOx because SO2, SO3 etc. are captured
by limestone.
• FBC has 10 times more heat transfer then other combustion
processes because of burning particle, hence it has a high
combustion efficiency.
• FBC has a lower combustion temperature of 750 °C whereas
an ordinary boiler operates at 850 °C.
• Less area is required for FBC due to high coefficient of
convective heat transfer.
