• Open Education can widely contribute to develop
citizenship and participation skills in a democratic
manner by opening up resources to train people in
every educational context either formal or informal
• For example, Open Data when used as OER can
help educators to create participatory projects
where students can attempt to resolve real life
problems using active citizenship as an approach
to learning
