  • 1. Opportunity knocks! Have your say in shaping EDEN2030 Conversation A conversation with selected experts to collect oppinions on EDEN future development and to frame the EDEN SWOT Excercise
  • 2. If you think about EDEN: What does it stand for for you…? What are the values coming to your mind…? • We are the leading open and inclusive, European, authentic, appreciative community with a shared purpose, where members feel at home in the family of distance and e-learning professionals • We foster leadership, networking, dialogue and curiosity and deal with up-to-date rersearch and forefront innovation in education • It is important to us to be valuable for our members, reliable, transparent, foster transformation and bridge between tradition and innovation.

Main Messages for EDEN Futures • EDEN – Better & more explicit craft & catalyse the message of future of learning and skills (instead of organising conversations between the members about our own institutions) • EDEN – Organise European policy dialogue: Become the forum to invite EU stakeholders on digital learning policies (EUA, EURASHE, ESU, ENQA)

Main Messages for EDEN Futures • EDEN – Use membership power to develop Exploratoriums: Start with policy labs • EDEN – Become the European reference: Engage (Fellow) Experts to publish regular seminal/ reference reports • EDEN – Invent new community formats (i.e. Micronetworks, Leadership forums)

I - EDEN – Host of Learning Futures Conversations • EDEN – Better & more explicit craft & catalyse the message of future of learning and skills (beyond organising conversations between the members about our own institutions) • More: Foster multistakeholder dialogue as default format for events (practice, research, policy)
  • 8. II - EDEN: Have a stronger Policy Voice • EDEN needs to develop further its policy voice: Start an agenda setting process • EDEN points of policy contact: Organise points of contacts with policy makers • EDEN policy task force (from Fellows Council)
  • 9. II - EDEN: Have a stronger Policy Voice • Develop EDEN policy labs: Smart, small scale membership led Exploratoriums in which practice and policy is formulated/ shaped/ further developed • EDEN organises EU Stakeholder policy dialogue on learning futures with EU stakeholder organisations (EUA, EURASHE, ESU, ENQA, etc.)
  • 10. III - EDEN: Which Community futures? •EDEN – Invent new community formats (i.e. Micronetworks, Leadership forums) •EDEN needs to develop new formats/ ideas/ concepts for the community

III - EDEN: Which Community futures? •EDEN is too introvert (cease opportunity: from an emergency to an inclusive concept of TEL) •New target groups, EDEN needs to map communities which are not reached yet (from GOF to new) •EDEN discussed too much challenges of our own institutions (makes us feel loke a family but not open enough)
  • 12. III - EDEN: New Community Formats •EDEN: New Community Formats - Develop Experts’ involvement • EDEN needs to make more of its expertise • Network of Academic Professionals • Fellow Council • More visibility • More operational & More involved

IV - EDEN – Valorise Expertise • EDEN needs to develop a systematic interface to the Corporate World • EDEN needs to produce visible regular products (branded research/ practice reports/ whitepapers/ policy statements) • Become the European reference: Engage (Fellow) Experts to publish regular seminal/ reference reports
  • 14. V – Open issues? • Should we expand the membership? • How can leadership be better expressed? • How can membership be involved in more transparent real-time strategy development?
