Comparing One Summer And When Everything Change
In One Summer 1927 and When Everything Changed, the authors are both showing the reader
different ways in which America was shaped over the years. The author of One Summer mainly tells
the men s role in history, while When Everything Changed focuses more on the Women s role in
history. Between these two time periods, there is a lot that took place. Some of the events included;
Charles Lindbergh and the flappers in One Summer and the Women s right movement and struggles in
becoming equal in When Everything Changed. By showing both the men s and women s side of each
story, the reader can come to the conclusion that men and women are equal when making history. By
making these points, the reader can identify with these two books and say that the ... Show more

1960 s, the world was changing. Modern day utilities we use today such as the washer and dryer and

American women cut their workload in half and they now had more time to do other things with their
time. Which led women to start to expand their views and think about college and working in the
workforce instead of being a stay at home mom. Women in the 1960 s did not necessarily go to
college to get an education. Instead, at the time the only thing on most women s minds was to get a

French Revolution Dbq Essay
The French Revolution was caused by social inequality, economic depression, mistreatment from the
monarchy, and the new idea of the Enlightenment Era.
During the French Revolution, there were three different social categories that separated you
depending on how much money were making, and who you were. The First Estate were the clergy, or
priests, the Second Estate were the nobility, and last the Third Estate were peasants. For example, there
was a picture on the Do Now: The Causes of the French Revolution, that depict the difference in
treatment each social group were receiving. The priests were in charge of the Church the main
government, and they were rich, they had fancy clothing and lived a great life. The nobles were also
rich, if you were a noble back in 1789, you were a police officer, or someone who worked in the
community. The peasants were very poor due ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The nobility had to pay little taxes, but nothing compare to what peasants had to pay. The commoners
were really the foundation of France. According to the DBQ, document six it states, The Third Estate
is the People and the People is the foundation of the State; it is in fact the State itself. The commoners
lived poorly because of all the taxes they were giving directly to people who were above them.
According to the DBQ, Document one, it states, Lands held by the nobility are taxed very little. Lands
held by commoners are taxed very heavily. So by this information I believe the peasants were poor
because of paying high taxes. They didn t have much food, no freedom nor money, raggedy clothes,
they had to work extremely hard, they had poor living conditions, and mistreatment of the monarchy,
the clergy, and the nobility. The peasants were beginning to feel frustrated and outraged by the
Monarchy s inability to adhere, to the change of life that the peasants were demanding

Comparing Carnivores And The Immune System
Science Assessment
Question 1
The slice of apple enters the mouth, which is the first component of the digestive tract. Inside, the
teeth break the apple down into smaller pieces through chewing, which is a form of physical digestion.
The tongue moves it around in our mouth, and the salivary glands produce saliva which mixes with
the apple to begin the breaking down process, which is called chemical digestion. The enzyme in the
saliva, called amylase, begins breaking down starch from the apple into sugars such as glucose. There
also other enzymes in our mouth that begin the digestion process and these include lipase, which
digests the very small amount of fats in the apple; mucin which coats and lubricates the food and
bicarbonate ions which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A horse s stomach is small as it doesn t eat 3 large meals a day, instead it eats several smaller meals. A
herbivores stomach (including a horses ) is much smaller in comparison to a carnivore s stomach as
herbivores eat less in one go, therefore needing less processing of food at any one time, resulting in
smaller stomachs.
Liver: does not produce much uric acid.
Saliva: Contains digestive enzymes such as amylase which break down carbohydrates and starch from
the plant matter.
Large Intestine: Long, puckered and winding in order to slow down wastes with a high water content,
so there is time for the water and nutrients to be extracted from the waste and filtered back into the
bloodstream.
Mouth: developed, muscular tongue to move food around in the horses mouth as well as smaller
mouths and molar teeth to grind the food down into swallowable pieces.
A herbivore also has an enzyme which can digest cellulose, which is the main building block in a plant
s cell wall. Carnivores do not have this enzyme.

National Incident Management System NIMS
The National Incident Management System (NIMS) was put into place after 9/11 and is the standard
for all first responders when dealing with large scale events (NIMS, 2014). The Incident Command
System (ICS) is the structure for the NIMS and establishes separate but unified sections and divisions
to include operations, a commander, logistics, plans and finance (NIMS, 2014)). The ICS can grow or
shrink depending on the size and scale of the event. The term Span of Control implies that within the
ICS, any individual with a supervisory position should oversee 3 to 7 subordinates. The span of
control is key to effective and efficient incident management (ICS Resource Center, 2008 p 3).
In one of the ICS s most basic forms, it empowers the Incident Commander (IC) to manage the
responding organization. It also puts forth an operations section chief to direct responders within
operations and communicate the IC s plan (NIMS, 2014). Depending on where an incident occurs
correlates to how well the responders are prepared, equipped and ready to deal with large scale events.
In some areas with less logistical resources and funds, incidents can turn into disasters that challenge
the local citizens and responders. That is exactly what happened in a coal mine in 2006 in Sago West
Virginia.

Personal Statement For Marine Biology
Personal Statement
Education has always been an important foundation upon which my family encouraged the most. Not
just the education pertaining to structured schooling, but the fundamentals in life that require you to
interact in society and be a part of something bigger than yourself. They demonstrated how to commit
to values such as responsibility, motivation, and consistency; and, how to be open minded and
passionate about the things you believe in. These things all required a sacrifice in various ways. They
always stress how sometimes you need to give up something to get ahead, or how sometimes
sacrificing the familiar and what you expect from yourself to get the results that you are seeking in the
long run.
The dream of having majored in marine biology is one thing, but to get to have a marine biology
degree is a fifth grader s dream come true. The environment is heading in a rough direction. For
example, ocean acidification is already a problem. The decrease in pH of our ocean acidity is causing
coral reefs to die out which houses thousands of organisms homes and food sources. Due to the
contaminants, we release into the natural environment, we are slowly losing ecosystems every day.
Therefore, I want to be the researcher to help save the oceanic life from these horrible conditions.
Also, the career of marine biology can take a person anywhere, from the coasts of the Bahamas all the
way to the depths of the Arctic Ocean. This provides the advantage

An Analysis of Ford s Career Website
An Analysis of Ford s Career Website
Introduction
Communicating human resource potentials to the general public might not be at the forefront of most
human resources managers and personnel, but in the age of computer and Internet based networking
the need to present an informative and effective face to the general public should be a concern for the
human resources department at every major firm. Websites are now the expected means by which
potential applicants, recruiters and job placement specialists, and other interested parties can learn
about human resources initiatives at various companies. Though these public career websites or
webpages are not a part of the traditional human resources information system, they must incorporate
much of the same architecture and should provide a decent level of transparency into the company s
human resources workings (Kavanagh at el, 2011). The following pages present a brief analysis of
Ford Motor Company s career website as an illustration of these larger principles.
Site Summary Ford Motor Company s career website is largely devoted to photographs and
accompanying headlines for news and human interest stories regarding the company s human
resources activities (Ford, 2012). There are also clear sections for job seekers and a variety of other
navigable elements on the page, with the homepage serving exclusively as a gateway to all of the
other sections of the career website (Ford, 2012). This presentation make it initially

How Did The Big Bang Theory Exist
Stephen Hawking, a physicist cosmologist, and dreamer, main goal has always been to find out how
the universe works and to determine why it exists at all (Hawking). To accomplish this goal, he creates
a theory that explains the origin of the universe and the steps leading to the formation of the elements.
The universe is about 14 billion years old and consists of many clusters that has approximately 400
billion stars. In fact, the Earth and everything around us are made by stars (Hawking). The Big Bang
Theory is used to tell how the universe and earth was created. The universe started with a small hot
ball of energy, it went from a small atom to expanding across space within seconds. As the universe

After carbon sinks to the middle of the star it also fuses with itself and creates oxygen and now
oxygen is at the center of the star. The same process repeats with oxygen and it forms iron. Iron is the
last thing that is formed because it does not produce energy, therefore it will not fuse with itself, so it
forms the core of the star. The elements in these layers have formed an onion. After iron is settled in
the center, the star begins to cool and the star will start to compress. When the star compresses, the
temperature begins to increase and eventually the star will explode resulting in a

John Whiteside s Daughter
The Innocent Death Bells for John Whiteside s Daughter, (1924) by American author John Crowe
Ransom (1888 1974), is a poem that has five sets of stanzas with four lines in each which are usually
called quatrains a rhyme scheme is in each quatrain as well. The poem deals with a group of neighbors
at a funeral dealing with the sudden death of a young girl. Ransom s main point is that death can be an
unexpected, merciless, and permanent event and to show how fragile life can be. The speaker is one of
the neighbors of the recently deceased young girl. The character who speaks in the poem does not
have a clear gender; therefore, this character will be referred to as a male, for clarity. He is speaking to

It is easy to ignore the possibility of our friends or family dying at any moment or day. Death always
seems categorized with a person being of older age. If an elderly person passes away from a disease or
an organ failure in a hospital, it is expected. If a little girl is murdered or died in an accident; then it is
an unforeseen tragedy. When at a funeral, the friends and relatives of the deceased all think about the
same thing. The memories of the past clash with the reality of the present. They wonder how a person
who was previously so full of life and character now a motionless corpse being placed in a dark hole.
The realization that this person will never be seen or interacted with ever again is emotionally
crushing. Even if it can be a difficult event to endure, death is an essential part of the cycle of life.

The Pros Of The Black Pearl Conspiracy
Despite the work of piracy being an exercise of serving self interest, a single pirate alone could not
become successful in creating a force strong enough to make any sort of living. Pirates depended on
the ability of their crewmates to get done what had to be done. The crew of a pirate ship live in close
quarters with each other when ever they were at sea and because of this, ships formed floating
societies that, like all societies required social rules and governance institutions to function (Leeson
203). These rules and governances were instituted through the pirate code. The concept of a pirate
code has become popular through its appearances in films like Disney s Pirates of the Caribbean: The
Cures of the Black Pearl. However, unlike ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The shared goal of obtainment of wealth was not enough to hold the pirate crew together and other
stipulations had to be put in place to avoid as many opportunities for violent conflict that could erupt
into fighting and tear their criminal organization apart (Leeson 69). Unlike the unequal division of
wealth on a merchant ship, the pay scale [was] established in the piratical contract (Leeson 71). For
example, on Captain John Phillips ship, the Revenge, the Captain shall have one full share and a half
in all prizes; The master, Carpenter, Boatswain and Gunner shall have on share and a quarter (Defoe
342). This division of wages was very common and was accepted by other pirate codes such as the
ones under Robert s and Edward Lowe (Leeson 68). The codes of piracy involving the spoils of piracy
also encouraged the pirates to act in their self interest as many had stipulations that you could obtain a
bonus from the common purse (Leeson 72) for going beyond the duties assigned to them. These
bonuses also ensured that the crews would work effectively, and that no one would be able to profit
from the work of others, which increased the pirates ability to profit from plunder (Leeson 72). The
division of wealth on the Pirate ship is a perfect example of a private

Data Storage And Communication Systems Essay
Abstract Encryption is widely used to ensure security in data storage and communication systems.
This paper introduces a new concept for image encryption using a new method we named it Meaning
Of Location (MOL) . In this method, the private key is an image that converted into RGB numbers
and the public key is random integers used to permutate the image. The location of the RGB will be
used to encrypt the plaintext. The performance of this algorithm is investigated against many different
attacks such as ciphertext attacks, plaintext attacks and brute force attack. The analysis and statistical
tests show the strength of this algorithm. The results show that the MOL algorithm is suitable for
securing wired and wireless communication systems such as smartcards and cell phone services.

Urbanization Of The United States
When we take a look on our current life, we definitely will not be strange to everything surrounding
us. But what if we lived in the past and traveled to the present, we must be shocked by this great
urbanization in our city. What is urbanization? Urbanization is defined as the process by which towns
and cities are formed and become larger as more and more people begin living and working in central
areas. In Boston, the government sets up a freedom trail that reflects the history of the United States.
However, there is also a latest freedom trail that is constructed by my own, which shows how
urbanization in Boston was going step by step. The core factors indicated by this new freedom trail are
trade, immigration, education and manufacturing. Long Wharf is the first stop. It was constructed
around 1710 in downtown Boston. Why does Long Wharf play a determined role in the development
of urbanization? Going through the history, when the British colonists came to Boston, they were
seeking to find clean water for survival. They began to set up home around the Quonehassit and then
built Long Wharf. From the geographical point of view, Long Wharf was at the mouth of several
rivers extending inland, which made a naturally ideal port. At the time of the society and even today s
society, trade is essential in the survival of the community. By looking at trade between one colonial
and another colonial, and between the New England region and the other countries, Long Wharf

Frank Sinatra was a huge fan of rock and roll music. He defended fashionable, high class, and lyrical

Capital Planning And Budgeting System Process
Capital planning and budgeting is a very vital piece in the Public Budgeting System process. It is an
essential implement in the financial management practice and is effective in both public and private
organizations. It is the method which consists of the determination and the evaluation of the
investments and the possible expenses by an organization. As explicated by Lee, Johnson, Joyce
(2008), capital budgets help in determining how much of each form of investment is needed, and it
supports an organization in assessing the available revenue which includes loans that are required to

Significance Of The Zoot Suit
There are three iconic symbols of the presence of Mexican Americans in the history of the United
States: The role of Mexican Americans in the WWII, the Bracero movement, and the Zoot Suit Riot.
All three moments provide insight on the participation of Hispanics in the construction of the
American society and more importantly, on the way the Mexican American identity has been
constructed and on the ways this community has been considered, in general terms, a group of
domestic aliens. As a consequence, Mexican Americans have been segregated and denied equal

This attire became a symbol of identity of Mexican Americans in the California area and those men
who wanted to contest the life conditions and the social and economic situation of their community.
Wearing the Zoot Suit became a symbol of identity that would later be criminalized. The soot suit
consisted of an oversized suit, a very long jacket and exaggerated pants; with very especial
characteristics. One of the most distinctive accessories was the watch chain hanging from the pants,
between the legs, a symbol of their manhood. The other significant element was the real leather soled
shoes. These two traits were especially shocking for those who did not accept the community: They
were symbols of a more open sexuality and a disregard for the rationing policy that reign in the
country. The zoot suit became a strong political symbol due to the Zoot Suit Riot and the Sleepy
Lagoon murder, two shocking events that derailed the relationships between Anglos and Mexican
Americans. The first one occurred on May 31st, 1943, when a group of youngsters dressed in zoot

Entombment
The Weyden and Pontormo paintings both are trying to depict a similar story in different styles. In
Weyden s piece the first thing you notice different from the Pontormo is the colors. In Weyden s piece
the colors pop right out you since he used harsh bright colors for their clothing. Unlike Pontormo
where he used very soft angelic colors like the pink and light blue and peachy colors. My eyes are
attracted to the Weyden more than Pontormo even if its older because it looks so much more realistic
than Pontormo. The drapery in Weyden s piece is very realistic as it falls on the bodies of each human
standing or falling. The shadows of the drape make them look real as if you can pick them up directly
from the painting. In Pontormo the drapery is more of a flowing feel to it. You can tell where it sits but
it isn t as realistic and looks as if they were angels helping God up.
In the Weyden piece the emotions are very upfront. They seem very upset at the sight of God sacrifice.
There is a women who looks as she has fainted and two people caught her ash she fell. Her arm is
almost in the same angle as God s arm is as they bring him down. This might have been purposely

Emotion and Procedural Memory
Do you remember how you learned how to ride a bike, read a book, or read a book? These and many
more activities you are allowed to do are all cause of procedural memory. Procedural memory are the
motor skills that you have developed from repeated times. These things, such as walking, talking,
eating, start when you are born. You do these motor skills and actions so much that they become more
of a habit and you do not notice that you are actually do them. People do not stop and say to their
selves Remember to breath, in, then out or to walk, you put your right foot out first, then your left .
That would make life a little more difficult than it already is. Humans and animals can learn with
feedback. For example, when we start driving, we will learn the amount of pressure we have to put on
the peddle for the car not to go to fast or too slow. Perceptual learning training with feedback is not
formally different from that experienced by a rat required to choose between a triangle and circle, say,
when one of these is followed by a given outcome (e.g., access to food) and one is not. Contemporary
associative theories of animal discrimination learning (e.g., that proposed by Rescorla Wagner, 1972)
provide an explanation of such learning (Mitchell Hall, 2014). Another habit we have as humans are is
superstitious learning. Superstitious learning is actions performed even when there is no causal
relationship between the action and its consequences (Eichenbaum, 2008). For

Child Prostitution Should Not Be Punished For Their Children
By: Aroob Fatima
Do you remember your childhood? You must be recalling stories of afternoons on the playground with
your friends or that heavenly feeling of eating freezies on a hot, summer day. Did the memory of child
prostitution run through your mind? No? How about having your rights and innocence completely
stripped away from you? About ten million children are involved in prostitution worldwide (B.Willis,
2002), with India consisting of one million child prostitutes; forty percent the country s total
prostitution population (CNN, 2009). In most cases, children are kidnapped and forced into
prostitution or take part in what is known as survival sex to provide basic needs for their family. But
what happens when a child prostitute finally comes across a police officer whom they believe have
come to their rescue? They get arrested. Children forced into the sex trade should not be punished for
their actions, but instead, should be provided with assistance to cope with the severe mental trauma
they face.
Many government officials and police officers don t recognize child prostitutes as victims of sexual
abuse but treated as offenders who need to be punished for their crime. According to a 2011 FBI
report, about two hundred thousand U.S. children are at risk of being exploited and trafficked for sex.
The majority of these children are girls between the ages of twelve and fourteen and in foster care.
The government suggests that child welfare systems should be

Summary Of Digging By Seamus Heaney
The free verse poem called Digging by Seamus Heaney is about a boy who admires his father s work,
but wants to be different from him. The poem takes place at a farm in Toner s Bog; we know this
because during the time when he flashes back, the father and grandfather are working on digging, and
also because they are harvesting potatoes it must be on a farm. The poem is about the speaker who is a
boy, and who wants to be someone different from his father. He looks out the window when he hears a
rasping sound of his father putting the spade into the ground, and then he flashes back 20 years before.
Although he admires the work his father does, he himself does not have it in him to follow in his
footsteps. But I ve no spade to follow men like ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He flashbacks 20 years behind and remembers seeing his grandfather and father dig and work. The
poems atmosphere has multiple moods some of which include, loving, proudness, respect, and
nostalgia some of which are similar or the same as the attitude of the speaker. Heaney uses similes,
metaphors, alliteration, and imagery to enhance the readers view and description of the poem. The
poem was written as a free verse but contains one stanza that has a rhyme scheme. Heaney has
multiple ways of conveying his message of follow your dreams or do what you want in life, and don t
let others control it his use of some figurative language are quite exceptional in adding meaning to the
poem and enhancing the readers view of the

Attila the Hun
Why were the military campaigns of Attila the Hun successful?
Attila s military success will be explained through his ability to lure the Romans into war on a pretext
whenever the Romans were vulnerable. His motives behind each war was to abstract as much money
from the Romans as possible. Also to be explored will be his ability to assert psychological
domination over the Eastern Emperor at a time when the two Empires were at peace. Furthermore to
be examined will be his ability to portray himself as diplomatic through treaties and embassy
consultations between the Romans and the Huns. Also to be looked at will be how successful was
Attila s at creating and seizing opportunities This will be done by looking at Attila s campaigns in the

On the other hand, they may have been quite capable of such construction for it is well documented
they had enslaved many tradesmen. As for example in the bath which was made for the Hunnic noble
Onegesius by a craftsman who was captured at Sirmium. Nevertheless the Huns ransacked and
pillaged the Balkans taking fortified cities along the way such as Viminacium, Illyricum and defeated
the Roman army at Chersonese. According to Brian Croke, In 441 the Huns invaded Illyricum only
and in 442 broke into northern Thrace . The Romans sued for peace and the Treaty of Anatolius was
agreed. Attila terms demanded that the annual tribute be tripled to 2,100 pounds of gold. He also
compelled the Romans to surrender all Hun deserters and to ransom their own deserters at a rate of
twelve solidi each. The treaty, however, contained one provision that had no precedent. Attila forced
the Romans to make an immediate payment of 6,000 pounds of gold. Attila s plan to force a war to
bring about higher subsidies had worked. He would devastate the Balkans for a second time in 447
when he came looking for subsidies that were in arrears.
When Atillas second campaign of the Balkans began in 447 he was sole leader of the Huns after

Consider Rent To Own When You Have Bad Credit Essay
Consider Rent To Own When You Have Bad Credit But Need A Car
If you have bad credit, it puts you in a tough spot when you need to buy a new car. You may need a car
to get back and forth to work. It s certainly more convenient to have your own car for grocery
shopping and running errands. However, when your credit is bad, you ll have difficulty getting a loan.
An alternative that might work for you is to buy a car under a rent to own program. Here s what you
need to know.
Why Bad Credit Loans Are Dangerous
It s difficult to get a loan at all when you have bad credit, but if you can get one, then you ll probably
have to take out a subprime loan. These are loans from companies that specialize in lending money to
people with bad credit. Because of the risk they take, they charge a high interest on your loan. This
makes your monthly payments higher. To find a car in your monthly payment range, you may need to
settle for a car you don t like. If you buy a new car with a subprime loan, you may end up with
monthly payments you struggle to make on time. This can wreck your credit and lead to financial
problems. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Of course, you ll probably need proof of income along with identification and references, but your
credit history doesn t matter. The process is very similar to renting a vehicle like you do when you go
on vacation. The difference is the money you pay each week applies to the cost of buying the car. You
can keep renting it until you pay it off, but if you run into financial problems, you can return the car
without damaging your credit.

Quinceanera Analysis
The Latino USA podcast was about in general the world of Quinceanera s where it is the right of
passage for girls to become women in Latin America culture. This podcast looked at Hailey s as an
example. This ceremony is one of the many cultural rights of passage that occur around the world and
across latin America but has no real root of origin. The many aspects of the ceremony such as the
dress, the venue, the guests, the music and the ceremony itself are very important in a Quinceanera.
The church that held Hailey s ceremony said there were too many similarities to a wedding and
encouraged sexual relations of becoming women earlier than marriage which is in turn untrue. As she
chose her dress and other needs, it was explained that her Godmother

White Supremacy In The Bluest Eye
You cannot hate your origin and not end up hating yourself is a quote by Malcolm X in his speech,
You Can t Hate The Roots of the Tree Without Hating The Tree. This quote relates with many of the
focal themes of The Bluest Eye, such as internalized racism, colorism and white supremacy. Malcolm
X s speech and Toni Morrison s, The Bluest Eye both highlight self hatred and white supremacy, as
well as the effects it has had on the black community.
Pecola Breedlove, the protagonist of The Bluest Eye, feels insecure about her features: Each night,
without fail, she prayed for blue eyes. Fervently, for a year she had prayed. Although somewhat
discouraged, she was not without hope. To have something as wonderful as that happen would take a

In The Bluest Eye, the subject of white supremacy is addressed through the character of Cholly
Breedlove, Pecola Breedlove s father. As a young man, Cholly was going to have sex with a white
woman named Darlene. Before that could happen, he was disrupted by two white men and was forced
by the white men to have sex with Darlene, telling him to Get on wid it, nigger and make it good
(Morrison 148). This scene is a metaphor for white supremacy, the idea of white people controlling
black people in everything that do. Malcolm X explains this concept through the idea of uniting black
people: You know why [white people] say Negroes are lazy? Because they want Negroes to be lazy.
They always say Negroes can t unite, because they don t want Negroes to unite. And once they put this
thing in the Negro s mind, they feel [black people] try to fulfill that image. If they say you can t unite
Black people and then you come to them to unite them, they won t unite, because it s been said that
they re not supposed to unite (X 1965). Both of these passages highlight how white people can control
the way black people think as well as the way they act. X makes it seem like it is a game of mind
control, while Morrison puts it in a dark, graphic and horrifying

African Americans Dbq
Why do we hate? Why do we lie? Why do we forget? Three questions provide a strong explanation of
how African Americans were treated, whether it was the use of verbal or physical abuse. These
questions also describes how African Americans were implied into education. Authors wrote many
issues regarding the ignorance and abolishment of slavery in more of a Whites perspective to teach the
American society what they want to hear and not what actually happened. And further more, forgotten
sources. Some want to forget was has happened over the course of our time, some want to hide the
truth of how this has affected society and the race around us. Three documents were discussed with

This document describes the results of blacks are no different than whites. It is stated that we are
taught that they were to hide the truth of matter in which would state otherwise. The literature of the
blacks cause racial and social problems between them and the whites. This document really undergoes
the value of isolation and the attempt to keep the blacks located into a rural area where they don t
associate with whites. This is what whites wanted in the South and the North, they truly wanted
segregation. The wanted separation from colored people. In Chapter 7 Negro Population stated the
following: Therefore, the dominant American valuation is that the Negro should be eliminated from
the American scene, but slowly. These words right here provide proof of segregation among races. The
whites feel if black population was decreased the economic structure of America would hold value and

Modern day utilities we use today such as the washer and dryer and instead of the ice box, the refrigerator was made popular. With those new conventional items. American women cut their workload in half and they now had more time to do other things with their time. Which led women to start to expand their views and think about college and working in the workforce instead of being a stay at home mom. Women in the 1960 s did not necessarily go to college to get an education. Instead, at the time the only thing on most women s minds was to get a ring by the time they graduated. During the French Revolution, there were three different social categories that separated you depending on how much money were making, and who you were. The First Estate were the clergy, or priests, the Second Estate were the nobility, and last the Third Estate were peasants. For example, there was a picture on the Do Now: The Causes of the French Revolution, that depict the difference in treatment each social group were receiving. The priests were in charge of the Church the main government, and they were rich, they had fancy clothing and lived a great life. So by this information I believe the peasants were poor because of paying high taxes. They didn t have much food, no freedom nor money, raggedy clothes, they had to work extremely hard, they had poor living conditions, and mistreatment of the monarchy, the clergy, and the nobility. Inside, the teeth break the apple down into smaller pieces through chewing, which is a form of physical digestion. The tongue moves it around in our mouth, and the salivary glands produce saliva which mixes with the apple to begin the breaking down process, which is called chemical digestion. The enzyme in the saliva, called amylase, begins breaking down starch from the apple into sugars such as glucose. There also other enzymes in our mouth that begin the digestion process and these include lipase, which digests the very small amount of fats in the apple; mucin which coats and lubricates the food and bicarbonate ions which ... • 8. National Incident Management System NIMS The National Incident Management System (NIMS) was put into place after 9/11 and is the standard for all first responders when dealing with large scale events (NIMS, 2014). The Incident Command System (ICS) is the structure for the NIMS and establishes separate but unified sections and divisions to include operations, a commander, logistics, plans and finance (NIMS, 2014)). The ICS can grow or shrink depending on the size and scale of the event. The term Span of Control implies that within the ICS, any individual with a supervisory position should oversee 3 to 7 subordinates. The span of control is key to effective and efficient incident management (ICS Resource Center, 2008 p 3). In one of the ICS s most basic forms, it empowers the Incident Commander (IC) to manage the responding organization. It also puts forth an operations section chief to direct responders within operations and communicate the IC s plan (NIMS, 2014). Depending on where an incident occurs correlates to how well the responders are prepared, equipped and ready to deal with large scale events. • 9. Personal Statement For Marine Biology Personal Statement Education has always been an important foundation upon which my family encouraged the most. Not just the education pertaining to structured schooling, but the fundamentals in life that require you to interact in society and be a part of something bigger than yourself. They demonstrated how to commit to values such as responsibility, motivation, and consistency; and, how to be open minded and passionate about the things you believe in. These things all required a sacrifice in various ways. They always stress how sometimes you need to give up something to get ahead, or how sometimes sacrificing the familiar and what you expect from yourself to get the results that you are seeking in the long run. The dream of having majored in marine biology is one thing, but to get to have a marine biology degree is a fifth grader s dream come true. The environment is heading in a rough direction. For example, ocean acidification is already a problem. The decrease in pH of our ocean acidity is causing coral reefs to die out which houses thousands of organisms homes and food sources. Due to the contaminants, we release into the natural environment, we are slowly losing ecosystems every day. Therefore, I want to be the researcher to help save the oceanic life from these horrible conditions. Also, the career of marine biology can take a person anywhere, from the coasts of the Bahamas all the way to the depths of the Arctic Ocean. This provides the advantage ... An Analysis of Ford s Career Website An Analysis of Ford s Career Website Introduction Communicating human resource potentials to the general public might not be at the forefront of most human resources managers and personnel, but in the age of computer and Internet based networking the need to present an informative and effective face to the general public should be a concern for the human resources department at every major firm. Websites are now the expected means by which potential applicants, recruiters and job placement specialists, and other interested parties can learn about human resources initiatives at various companies. Though these public career websites or webpages are not a part of the traditional human resources information system, they must incorporate much of the same architecture and should provide a decent level of transparency into the company s human resources workings (Kavanagh at el, 2011). The Pros Of The Black Pearl Conspiracy Despite the work of piracy being an exercise of serving self interest, a single pirate alone could not become successful in creating a force strong enough to make any sort of living. Pirates depended on the ability of their crewmates to get done what had to be done. The crew of a pirate ship live in close quarters with each other when ever they were at sea and because of this, ships formed floating societies that, like all societies required social rules and governance institutions to function (Leeson 203). These rules and governances were instituted through the pirate code. The shared goal of obtainment of wealth was not enough to hold the pirate crew together and other stipulations had to be put in place to avoid as many opportunities for violent conflict that could erupt into fighting and tear their criminal organization apart (Leeson 69). Unlike the unequal division of wealth on a merchant ship, the pay scale [was] established in the piratical contract (Leeson 71). For example, on Captain John Phillips ship, the Revenge, the Captain shall have one full share and a half in all prizes; The master, Carpenter, Boatswain and Gunner shall have on share and a quarter (Defoe 342). This division of wages was very common and was accepted by other pirate codes such as the ones under Robert s and Edward Lowe (Leeson 68). The codes of piracy involving the spoils of piracy also encouraged the pirates to act in their self interest as many had stipulations that you could obtain a bonus from the common purse (Leeson 72) for going beyond the duties assigned to them. These bonuses also ensured that the crews would work effectively, and that no one would be able to profit from the work of others, which increased the pirates ability to profit from plunder (Leeson 72). This paper introduces a new concept for image encryption using a new method we named it Meaning Of Location (MOL) . In this method, the private key is an image that converted into RGB numbers and the public key is random integers used to permutate the image. The location of the RGB will be used to encrypt the plaintext. The performance of this algorithm is investigated against many different attacks such as ciphertext attacks, plaintext attacks and brute force attack. The analysis and statistical tests show the strength of this algorithm. The results show that the MOL algorithm is suitable for securing wired and wireless communication systems such as smartcards and cell phone services. But what if we lived in the past and traveled to the present, we must be shocked by this great urbanization in our city. What is urbanization? Urbanization is defined as the process by which towns and cities are formed and become larger as more and more people begin living and working in central areas. In Boston, the government sets up a freedom trail that reflects the history of the United States. However, there is also a latest freedom trail that is constructed by my own, which shows how urbanization in Boston was going step by step. The core factors indicated by this new freedom trail are trade, immigration, education and manufacturing. Long Wharf is the first stop. It was constructed around 1710 in downtown Boston. Why does Long Wharf play a determined role in the development of urbanization? Going through the history, when the British colonists came to Boston, they were seeking to find clean water for survival. They began to set up home around the Quonehassit and then built Long Wharf. From the geographical point of view, Long Wharf was at the mouth of several rivers extending inland, which made a naturally ideal port. It is an essential implement in the financial management practice and is effective in both public and private organizations. It is the method which consists of the determination and the evaluation of the investments and the possible expenses by an organization. • 21. Significance Of The Zoot Suit There are three iconic symbols of the presence of Mexican Americans in the history of the United States: The role of Mexican Americans in the WWII, the Bracero movement, and the Zoot Suit Riot. All three moments provide insight on the participation of Hispanics in the construction of the American society and more importantly, on the way the Mexican American identity has been constructed and on the ways this community has been considered, in general terms, a group of domestic aliens. As a consequence, Mexican Americans have been segregated and denied equal opportunity historically. However, they are here to stay, an Anglos better learn to deal with their presence. This attire became a symbol of identity of Mexican Americans in the California area and those men who wanted to contest the life conditions and the social and economic situation of their community. Wearing the Zoot Suit became a symbol of identity that would later be criminalized. The soot suit consisted of an oversized suit, a very long jacket and exaggerated pants; with very especial characteristics. One of the most distinctive accessories was the watch chain hanging from the pants, between the legs, a symbol of their manhood. The other significant element was the real leather soled shoes. These two traits were especially shocking for those who did not accept the community: They were symbols of a more open sexuality and a disregard for the rationing policy that reign in the country. The zoot suit became a strong political symbol due to the Zoot Suit Riot and the Sleepy Lagoon murder, two shocking events that derailed the relationships between Anglos and Mexican Americans. The first one occurred on May 31st, 1943, when a group of youngsters dressed in zoot suits were attacked by Anglo youths, many of them in Navy attire. Giotto Virgin and Child Enthroned The Giotto and Cimabue are obviously different versions of the Virgin and Child Enthroned. But because they are different versions they have their differences. When i first look at the Cimabue piece the first thing i focus my eyes on is the sweet, tender, loving face the Virgin has on her warm yellow face. Her eyes are looking outward towards the audience which i feel helps you feel like you are part of the enthroning. Giotto depicted the Virgins face with a little bit more of a stern look to it. Its not as soft as the one in Giotto. Also the colors are much more cooler so when i look at Giotto s piece i look at the creamy colors like her shirt first instead of ... Pontormo Entombment The Weyden and Pontormo paintings both are trying to depict a similar story in different styles. In Weyden s piece the first thing you notice different from the Pontormo is the colors. In Weyden s piece the colors pop right out you since he used harsh bright colors for their clothing. Unlike Pontormo where he used very soft angelic colors like the pink and light blue and peachy colors. My eyes are attracted to the Weyden more than Pontormo even if its older because it looks so much more realistic than Pontormo. The drapery in Weyden s piece is very realistic as it falls on the bodies of each human standing or falling. The shadows of the drape make them look real as if you can pick them up directly from the painting. In Pontormo the drapery is more of a flowing feel to it. You can tell where it sits but it isn t as realistic and looks as if they were angels helping God up. In the Weyden piece the emotions are very upfront. They seem very upset at the sight of God sacrifice. There is a women who looks as she has fainted and two people caught her ash she fell. Her arm is almost in the same angle as God s arm is as they bring him down. This might have been purposely done to somehow symbolize that they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 23. Emotion and Procedural Memory Do you remember how you learned how to ride a bike, read a book, or read a book? These and many more activities you are allowed to do are all cause of procedural memory. Procedural memory are the motor skills that you have developed from repeated times. These things, such as walking, talking, eating, start when you are born. You do these motor skills and actions so much that they become more of a habit and you do not notice that you are actually do them. People do not stop and say to their selves Remember to breath, in, then out or to walk, you put your right foot out first, then your left . That would make life a little more difficult than it already is. Humans and animals can learn with feedback. For example, when we start driving, we will learn the amount of pressure we have to put on the peddle for the car not to go to fast or too slow. Perceptual learning training with feedback is not formally different from that experienced by a rat required to choose between a triangle and circle, say, when one of these is followed by a given outcome (e.g., access to food) and one is not. Contemporary associative theories of animal discrimination learning (e.g., that proposed by Rescorla Wagner, 1972) provide an explanation of such learning (Mitchell Hall, 2014). Another habit we have as humans are is superstitious learning. Superstitious learning is actions performed even when there is no causal relationship between the action and its consequences (Eichenbaum, 2008). For ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

You must be recalling stories of afternoons on the playground with your friends or that heavenly feeling of eating freezies on a hot, summer day. Did the memory of child prostitution run through your mind? No? How about having your rights and innocence completely stripped away from you? About ten million children are involved in prostitution worldwide (B.Willis, 2002), with India consisting of one million child prostitutes; forty percent the country s total prostitution population (CNN, 2009). In most cases, children are kidnapped and forced into prostitution or take part in what is known as survival sex to provide basic needs for their family. But what happens when a child prostitute finally comes across a police officer whom they believe have come to their rescue? They get arrested. Children forced into the sex trade should not be punished for their actions, but instead, should be provided with assistance to cope with the severe mental trauma they face. Many government officials and police officers don t recognize child prostitutes as victims of sexual abuse but treated as offenders who need to be punished for their crime. According to a 2011 FBI report, about two hundred thousand U.S. children are at risk of being exploited and trafficked for sex. The majority of these children are girls between the ages of twelve and fourteen and in foster care. The government suggests that child welfare systems should be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

White Supremacy In The Bluest Eye You cannot hate your origin and not end up hating yourself is a quote by Malcolm X in his speech, You Can t Hate The Roots of the Tree Without Hating The Tree. This quote relates with many of the focal themes of The Bluest Eye, such as internalized racism, colorism and white supremacy. Malcolm X s speech and Toni Morrison s, The Bluest Eye both highlight self hatred and white supremacy, as well as the effects it has had on the black community. Pecola Breedlove, the protagonist of The Bluest Eye, feels insecure about her features: Each night, without fail, she prayed for blue eyes. Fervently, for a year she had prayed. In The Bluest Eye, the subject of white supremacy is addressed through the character of Cholly Breedlove, Pecola Breedlove s father. As a young man, Cholly was going to have sex with a white woman named Darlene. Before that could happen, he was disrupted by two white men and was forced by the white men to have sex with Darlene, telling him to Get on wid it, nigger and make it good (Morrison 148). This scene is a metaphor for white supremacy, the idea of white people controlling black people in everything that do. Malcolm X explains this concept through the idea of uniting black people: You know why [white people] say Negroes are lazy? Because they want Negroes to be lazy. They always say Negroes can t unite, because they don t want Negroes to unite. And once they put this thing in the Negro s mind, they feel [black people] try to fulfill that image. If they say you can t unite Black people and then you come to them to unite them, they won t unite, because it s been said that they re not supposed to unite (X 1965). Both of these passages highlight how white people can control the way black people think as well as the way they act.
