The Pros And Cons Of Bombs
Bombs. The ultimate attention grabber has proven to be a weapon of mass destruction against
humanity numerous times throughout the short life of the weapon, even as recent as the bombing in
New York and New Jersey that took place in late September of 2016 prove exactly what they were
intended to prove: that humans are vulnerable in the face of fear. So many weapons have been used to
prove multiple points, so many that it s hard to list them all; racism, sexism, discrimination against
religion and sexuality, drugs and alcohol, all of these factor into the roles of fights everyday. The
continued assaults have caused every single person to question those around them, to be constantly
concerned about whether they ll come home that night or whether the night before was the last night
that they will see someone they love without having been murdered. Although my generation wasn t
alive before 9/11, which was one of the most devastating events of American history, we have come to
coexist with bombing of our own time (the night club shooting in Orlando, the bombings in New York
and New Jersey, the I 10 shooter in the early ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The belief the America is a melting pot (or should be a melting pot) is wrong for many reasons, one of
them being that, in trying to create this melting pot , people have been severely injured to the point of
being crippled and/or death. The American Identity can t be pinpointed to just one conclusion for my
generation, given the conflict throughout the differing minds of them. However, the American Identity
should consist of being truly free, and not having to worry about being killed for anything that you can
t control (race, sexuality, religion, etc). It should be the symbol for hope, freedom, integrity, and joy,
not murder and being

Dove Gray Tulle s Influence On The Human Body
One of the many dresses at that SCAD museums is a dove gray tulle gown that was custom made by
Carolina Herrera. The gown was worn by Renee Zellweger wore to the 2011 Golden Camera Awards
in Berlin Germany. The gown is made out of layers of dove gray tulle layered one on top of the other
giving the gown an A line shape of the dress instead of a ball gown feel if it was mad out of another
material. The tool also gives the gown a light airy feel and would give the gown a lot of movement as
the wear walks. On the bodice of the dress is strapless with a straight across neckline give it a modest
look to the wearer. On the dress is platinum embroidery lines the dress going up and down, with some
curve where the top starts to flair out into the gown.

Case Study The Vla And Its Mobile Sticker Propaganda
The solution to this problem, the VLA and its mobile sticker propaganda, is to educate parents with
infants and children on the safety of childhood vaccines. By creating a non profit organization that
educates, promotes, fundraises and campaigns vaccines as safe and effective is the best solution to end
the anti vaccine war. Using data and statistics collected from case studies on vaccine preventable
disease outbreaks, parents can then make an informed decision on vaccinating their child. This non
profit campaign will effectively work if presented in the right setting. An appropriate approach would
be recruiting volunteers to campaign outside of places that parents and their children often go such as,
pediatrician s offices, grocery stores,

John F. Kennedy Not Only A Great President But A Naval
John F. Kennedy not only a great president but a naval hero to our country. He stopped The Cuban
Missile Crisis in which was almost a nuclear world war and he is recognized as one of the best
presidents ever. John F. Kennedy is one of the greatest presidents ever and he had many great
achievements.
John F. Kennedy was president from January 20, 1961 through November 22,1963 when he was
assassinated in Texas. John F. Kennedy was born on May 29th, 1917 in Brookline, Massachusetts. He
was the 35th president of the United States. He had 8 siblings and their names were Joseph Junior,

JFK has had many achievements in his life and he was much more than a good president. In my
opinion JFK was a naval hero and one of Americas greatest presidents.
The Cuban Missile Crisis was October 16th through the 28th in the year of 1962, and it was one of the
scariest situations that could have ended in a nuclear war. Earlier that month John F. Kennedy send a
plane to spy on them and see if they were doing anything they were not supposed to and he saw that
Cuba had nuclear missiles set out and they could fire them at any given moment if they wanted to.
John F. Kennedy saw this and the next day he immediately went to talk to the leader of the Soviet
Union. The leader of the Soviet Union was named Nikita Khrushchev and it was very hard for John F.
Kennedy to make a deal with him so that he would put his nuclear missiles away. The deal was that if
John F. Kennedy would remove his nuclear missiles from Turkey and Italy then The Soviet Union
would have to remove their nuclear missiles from Cuba. John F. Kennedy also had to make an
agreement that he would never invade Cuba again without direct provocation. This agreement also set

United Nations Mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea
UNMEE in Ethiopia and Eritrea Introduction In June 2000, after the two years of a border dispute,
Ethiopia and Eritrea agreed on Cessation of Hostilities organised by Algeria and the Organization of
African Unity (OAU). In July, the Security Council established the United Nations Mission in
Ethiopia and Eritrea (UNMEE), and in September, UNMEE was authorised by the Council to ensure
the observance of security commitments and to monitor the cessation of hostilities. UNMEE was the
most recent case of a traditional peacekeeping operation deployed from 2000 to 2008. The paper

points of the mandate (if any)? First of all UNMEE s original ... Show more content on

Later the number of UNMEE forces have reduced slowly and been reconfigured over the period due
to several reasons: the less activities in the Boundary Commission, better stability in TSZ area, the
less need of physical presence due to the increase of air surveillance use and, the change of parties
attitude. . What challenges did the mission face? As mentioned earlier, despite of main military
actions, UNMEE operation was limited to quite sensitive and was repeatedly hindered by reluctance
of the parties towards the Mission. When UNMEE relation with the two states deteriorated highly in
late autumn 2005, Eritrea forbidden all UNMEE air forces from its air zone and restricted the UNMEE
personnel´s freedom of movement. In addition, Ethiopian authority refused a decision of the Eritrea
Ethiopia Boundary Commission without precondition. One of the most crucial event happened when
the Agreement on Cessation of Hostilities was violated by forcible entrance of about 1000 Eritorean
Defence Forces at the UNMEE checkpoint in Maileba, which is located in TSZ. In the consequence,
Jordanian battalion who were in charged in this UNMEE checkpoint, were overthrown by the
temporal control of the armed Eritrean militia. Another great challenge for the UNMEE was that
although a Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) was signed by Ethiopia and the UN on March 22nd

Visual Cliff Experiment Essay
Gibson Walk conducted one of the most interesting studies we learned in class. In 1960, the two
researchers conducted the Visual Cliff experiment. This study used infants and tested their visual
abilities. The researchers tested the depth perception in the infants used in the study. They put the
infants on a glass table that had a shallow side as well as a deep side, and the infant would crawl on it.
I was wondering if the mothers of these infants could have any effect on the experiment. I wanted to
know if the infants were told to crawl over by their mothers from the shallow side of the table before
the deep side of the table. I figured if the mother was on the shallow end of the table and the infant
crawled to her that they would trust the mother more and crawl over the deep side. It turns out the
mothers didn t really effect the experiment. In the experiment, the mothers actually called them over
from the deep end side of the table before they went over to the shallow side. In 1995, Leichtman and
Ceci started their study on challenging preschooler s eyewitness testimonies. Children were divided in
4 groups and were asked about a class visitor named Sam ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

difference in gender for this study. I also wanted to know how he recorded the answers the children
gave for the pictures. Elkind did not include gender differences in the results of his study. If the child
answered correctly to the figure the child was given a point. If the child looked at the parts of the

Least Restrictive Environment
According to Heward, (2009), IDEA required each student with disabilities be educated in the least
restrictive environment (LRE), which is when the severity of a child disability endure them from an
education in a regular classroom, even with the use of supplementary aids and services. A LRE setting
is comparable to a regular classroom and meets a child educational needs, but a LRE for a child with a
disability might not be a good fit for another child with a disability. Some educators and parents
believe any place, not within a regular classroom can be restrictive, but they understand that placing a
child that can t function in a regular classroom would be inappropriate. Therefore, the three
consideration that would be essential to deciding

The Importance Of The Electronic Communications Privacy Act
The Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA) is a United States government statute that denies
an outsider from blocking or uncovering interchanges without approval.
Foundation: The Electronic Communications Privacy Act and the Stored Wire Electronic
Communications Act are generally alluded together as the Electronic Communications Privacy Act
(ECPA) of 1986. The ECPA refreshed the Federal Wiretap Act of 1968, which tended to block attempt
of discussions utilizing hard phone lines, yet did not make a difference to interference of PC and other
computerized and electronic correspondences. A few resulting bits of enactment, including The USA
PATRIOT Act, elucidate and refresh the ECPA to keep pace with the development of new interchanges

Bernard Malamud Short Stories
Zinsule Bonner
Pride Comes Before the Fall In the short stories The Bill (1951) and Take Pity (1958) by Bernard
Malamud, the author focuses on the theme of victimization that can be associated with the characters
pride, and in their cases, willfulness. In The Bill, Ms. Panessa, an elderly woman who partners with
her husband in a family owned delicatessen, unwittingly victimizes herself and others with her own
sense of honor. Similarly, in Take Pity, the main character, Eva Kalish, owns a grocery store with her
husband in a dead neighborhood (175). Akin to the relationship Panessa develops with Mr. Schlegel in
The Bill, when Kalish becomes a widow, she is caught in a vicious cycle wherein her pride and ...

In this case, Mrs. Panessa s pride victimizes her own husband, and consequently, he falls.
Similar to the Panessas, Eva and Axel Kalish have two daughters, and they have, likewise, purchased
a grocery store. The Kalish family were polish refugees, and the father and husband, Axel Kalish, was
a hard worker. When he got to America, he saved up as much money as he could so that he could buy
this grocery in a dead neighborhood where he didn t have a chance (175), as said so in the story.
Rosen new that they would make it, and warned his that buying this store was a mistake because he
didn t want the family to have to suffer. Rosen said, Here they will bury you if you don t get out
quick! (175), sharing his strong feeling about the Kalish family and their investment in the run down
grocery. Unlike the parent/child relationship the Panessas have with their children, Mrs. Kalish values
her relationship with her younger daughters. Furthermore, while Eva admits that she never expects to
become a millionaire, all [she] wants is ... a little living and [to] take care of [them] (177). In an effort
to accomplish her goals, she and her husband purchase the small grocery. Despite their best intentions,

Generations Research Paper
People are at the heart of every company, be it a large corporation with thousands of employees
worldwide or a small, family owned business that just opened its doors. People pioneer ideas, solve
problems, and take care of the customer. As such, it comes as no surprise that one of the biggest
challenges for every company is finding and recruiting top talent. With a new generation entering the
workforce, employers are forced to be more creative in their recruiting methods in order to meet the
different priorities and expectations of the new generation.
Since the 2008 financial crisis, one of the biggest issues to plague the American workforce has been
work life balance (Taylor, 2016). While salaries and minimum wages have experienced an ... Show

Additionally, there would be no cap on the amount of vacations an employee is able to take. Typically,
the only requirement is to make sure colleagues are up to date on the employee s work and that the
employee s absence will not cause issues to the business in any way (Branson, 2014). The rationale
behind this is that employees will manage their own time well because it is in the best interest of their
careers to do so. This is different from a relatively more traditional Paid Time Off (PTO) policy, which
essentially groups vacation, sick, and personal days under the same umbrella while establishing a cap
on the overall time off (Sine, 2017). While PTO policies do not give employees as much freedom as
an unlimited vacation policy, it still touts the same general principles and may be a better option for
companies with more nonexempt employees or who are otherwise not ready to implement an
unlimited vacation policy.
Netflix
Unlimited vacation policies have been increasingly popular over the last few years with many
companies in a variety of industries taking advantage of it. While traditional PTO laws tended to be
based upon state regulations, this new perk was pioneered by Patty McCord, the former Chief Talent
Officer at Netflix, and popularized by the viral deck that she wrote with Reed Hastings, the CEO of
Netflix (McCord, 2014). Companies from GE to Virgin to StitchFix have all credited this infamous
deck of 127 slides as the

How Is Harrison Bergeron A Dystopian Society
Imagine if we were equal in all ways. Think about being exactly the same in all aspects; the same
haircut, intelligence level, the same routine everyday over and over again. In the short story Harrison
Bergeron by Kurt Vonnegut, it shows us the theme of equality through a futuristic dystopian society,
which can relate to the society we live in today. In the dystopian society, Harrison is an athlete and is
extremely intelligent. He tries to be above equal, therefore he is considered to be extremely dangerous.
Although equality may seem to be a necessary component in a modern progressive society, forced
equality could be harmful to itself by eliminating competition, individuality, and motivation.
Competition is a major factor in our lives today. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Individuality is what makes everyone different, without it we wouldn t be who we are today. Above
all, individuality is what makes us unique. It s what sets us apart from everyone else. Everyone
deserves a chance to express themselves. In the story Harrison Bergeron, it says that the ballerinas,
...were masked so that no one, seeing a free and graceful gesture or a pretty face... (Vonnegut 5)The
main reason that the ballerinas had to wear masks was to eliminate the felling of them making people
feel unequal because they weren t as beautiful as the ballerinas. Another example of individuality
would be the story of Talia Joy. Talia was diagnosed with two types of cancer, neuroblastoma and
leukemia. Due to the cancers, she lost her hair and her hair was what made her feel beautiful. After her
diagnosis, she found another way to express her beauty. The way that she had learned was to express
herself through her makeup. She once said, Make up is my wig. Since she was unable to express her
beauty and individuality through her hair anymore, she directed it through another form, her makeup.
Take pride in what makes you different; individuality is what makes you different form the rest.
(Unknown) Whoever was the author of this quote was most certainly right. Our differences are what
make us stand out. If equality were to be forced, individuality would only be a

better tasting product, they often load it up with sugar. This does not work well, as our body cannot
process the sugar fast enough. So this amount of sugar tells the pancreas to make insulin, which is the
fat producing hormone. High insulin levels also have the problem of blocking the Full! signals that
travel to a person s brain. From there, the converted sugar energy gets stored in the liver, and the
excess gets stored in fat cells, creating, well, the bad fat no one wants on their body. This is often
common with low fat foods, and certain carbohydrates, as they turn into sugar, and eventually, fat.

William Clover, talking about his experience in Lyon, the second largest city in France in his book The
French Don t Diet Plan, says, A... search on the official Lyon website revealed that there are no gyms
in that city. This might confuse some people, as they think about the thin, and small waistlines of our
Parisian counterparts. How can people not work out, but still say so thin? The answer is simple, they
get their exercise elsewhere. They are very active people, while Americans are often lazy, or only
exercise without taking diet into consideration. Actually, before 1953, it was common knowledge that
exercise could cause heart attacks and diminish sex drive. That was until a study in 1953 showed that
a fat and a skinny mouse ate the exact same, but had a difference due to the fat mouse s unhealthy
habit of not exercising on his wheel. Fast forward to 1980, and in the next two decades, fitness club
memberships doubled. The only problem is, obesity rates doubled as well. Billions went to trying to
lose weight, and a fitness revolution sparked across the nation. It was easily seen that gyms were
expanding, but waistlines expanded as well, and a decade later, two thirds of Americans were
overweight or obese.

Family relationships are not always easy. You have grown up in a different generation and a different

He begins his autobiography with the lines My father s mother lives with us. She s a nasty old lady

Memory Vs Information Processing Model
Memory Learning has persisted over time information that has been stored, and in many cases, can be

Information Processing Model The principal model of memory is the three box model, also called the
information processing model. This model proposes the three stages that information passes through
before it is stored.
Sensory Registers Also called sensory memory, refers to the first and most immediate form of memory
you have. The sensory register is your ultra short term memory that takes in sensory information
through your five senses (sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch) and holds it for no more than a few
seconds.

Washington Irving s short story Rip Van Winkle is a way to understand how society had evolved at the

Teens And Mtv s Unrealistic Beliefs On Teen Pregnancy
Research article authors Nicole Martins and Robin E. Jensen, intended to study the relationship
between MTV s series Teen Mom reality show and teenagers unrealistic beliefs about what is like to
be a teen mom. The seven motivations for asking why are used to convince the audience that it is
worthy of research by exploring the relationship with the intentions to discredit the previous findings
that state, Teen Mom and 16 and Pregnant is one of the best public service campaign to prevent teen
pregnancy. This topic presents a number of complications in the lives of both induvial and societal as a
whole; providing evidence to answer the readers question on why this topic is of importance and
worthy of research. Yearly, $7 billion are taxed to all U.S citizens for welfare and healthcare relating
to teen pregnancy, driving the United States to the top as the highest rated country with teen
pregnancy. Consequently, almost half of teen mothers are unable to receive a high school diploma;
leading to lower occupation income for both fathers and mothers. I myself have personally witnessed
the toll it takes on one s life from three women who became mothers at a young age. Many teens are
unaware of the high risks and consequences of becoming pregnant or are in denial of the possibility.
Being able to be a part of their journey has increased my belief of the importance on this topic and
related research.
When comparing this article to a good literature review, it successfully provides an adequate overview
of previous research done and uses it to enhance the project at hand. When evaluating the quality and
relevance of this article, Martins and Jensen do an admirable job communicating the purpose of
research to the reader and organizing its literature review. The data from other studies is in
chronological order and are structured from broader studies to more specific ones which is seen when
the sources are cited. An analysis was provided after presenting the findings from previous studies and
the authors were able to communicate how those studies influenced their own research. As a whole,

The Challenges to Henry VII Security Between 1487 and the...
The Challenges to Henry VII Security Between 1487 and the end of 1499 Henry VII faced many
challenges to his throne from 1487 to the end of 1499. These included many rebellions and pretenders
to his throne. To what extent was the success he dealt with them differs although the overriding
answer is that by the end of his reign he had secured his throne and set up a dynasty, with all
challengers removed. Lambert Simnel challenged Henry s security when Richard Symonds passed
him off as Warwick. Simnel was taken to Ireland, which had become the centre of Yorkist plotting.

The success of the win was therefore undermined, as he did not have the full loyalty of his men at the
battlefield. However, all in all, by using a large army to deal with the rebels demonstrated to other
challengers the strength Henry had at his hands and this must surely be a success. Simnel was put to
work in the royal kitchens. This was a successful way of dealing with Simnel as it showed Henry to be
a merciful and forgiving man. Henry called a Parliament in November 1487. The nobles and gentry
who had supported the rebellion were attainted and their lands were confiscated by the crown. This
was successful as it made examples of these men to warn off other contenders or rebels. In addition,
by attainting them and confiscating their lands, this meant that if a noble was to get involved in a
rebellion not only would he be affected but so too would his family, heir and subjects. This was surely
a lot more threatening then death. Henry quickly tried to mend relations with Maximilian. A new
treaty in January 1488 restored friendly relations with close trading ties between England and
Burgundy. As soon as Henry found out about the Simnel conspiracy he

Do Not Pet ! Service Dog On The Job

Do Not Pet! Service Dog on the Job
Walking into my final class of the day, I noticed that a fellow student is with a dog. As I got closer to
the couple, the urge to pet the animal washed over me. My hands began to itch to feel the fur on my
skin and to find the extraordinary spot behind the ear that all dogs love. However, a red vest caught
my eyes with the words SERVICE DOG and DO NOT PET that yelled at me to not go through with
my actions. Reluctantly obeying the warnings, I sat down next to the pair with an unaccomplished
mission that was put before me. Trying to ignore the desire to pet the dog, another student asked if
they could pet the dog. I heard the owner respond with, I m sorry. He s still in training. After hearing
this, I realized that we forget that these dogs are on the job to help out their owners with their medical
or mental disabilities and we, the outsiders, only see these dogs for our amusement. By defining what
is considered a service animal, what the policies are for college campuses, what these animals are
trained specifically for a certain numbers of tasks and we, as students, must respect their job and their
owners. However, there are those that abuse the power of the loose definition of a service animal. The
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 opened the gateway to service animals being used.
The ADA helps the individuals with

The risk of generic substitution is also increasing with especially China dominating the production
market. Customers will substitute for a generic product if the disposable incomes of the customers
reduce resulting in customers willing to trade down for a inferior but cheaper product. 5. The
bargaining power of buyers The market greatly depends on how powerful buyers are in terms of their
willingness to pay certain prices. The following determines the bargaining power of buyers Buyers
concentration Switching costs Backward vertical integration Ratio of purchase price to total cost
Information The bargaining power of buyers stands in a direct relationship with the bargaining power
of suppliers. If the bargaining power of buyers is substantial it increases the opportunity cost of
suppliers. The greater the buyers concentration the greater their bargaining power. This bargaining
power is also increased in markets where the suppliers concentration is high. The bargaining power is
also increased when the cost of switching from one supplier to another is low. In instances where
backward vertical integration is possible i.e. buyers setting up their own chains of suppliers the
bargaining power of the buyer increases in that their prices may become more competitive. In a
market where the buyers are more concerned over quality than price their bargaining power decreases
as they are less inclined to shop

I Am The Most Football Inquestion
As many of you may of heard about deflategate by now but, I can can tell you the truth on this matter
for I am the very football inquestion. So my life started the same as any other inflated dead cow in
Ada, Ohio. I was made in the second week of January which meant I was going to be used for one of
the upcoming championship games. Before I was shipped out I was dreaming of being thrown by Tom
Brady and Andrew Luck or being carried by Beast Mode and Eddie Lacy. After my fellow footballs
and I heard we were going to Foxborough I knew we would play a role in a historic game that could
be Brady s last chance for four rings or Luck s first of many super bowl appearances. We arrived a few
days before the AFC Championship Game. I was thankfully one of the 6 outdoor footballs and not one
of the balls only used for kicking or practice because I wanted to feel what it was like to be thrown by
what could two of the best quarterbacks of all time when it is said and done. I also didn t want to be
the football that missed a field goal because of the wind or snow that is present at a night game at
Gillette. We were picked up by Jim McNally and John Jastremski, the Patriot equipment managers.
They took us to their office and set us in the corner behind their desk. I was on top of the bag so I had
a perfect view of their computers and I was stunned by what I saw. Jim and John were talking to
Brady about how he wanted us prepared. This is pretty normal for teams to do and with a star

Surcharge Essay
The process is done by simply placing a surcharge fill on top of the soil that requires consolidation.
The excess load is referred to as surcharge load. The load must be placed in several stages so as to
prevent instability. Once the predicted consolidation is achieved, the fill can be removed and
construction can be started. Surcharge which was installed as a temporary load, can be removed when
the settlements exceed the foretold final settlement. Normally this is done only after the remaining
excess pore water pressure becomes less than the stress increase caused by the temporary surcharge. If
the surcharge is higher than the work load, the soil will always be in an over consolidated state.
The secondary compression for over consolidated soil is much smaller than that of normally
consolidated soil. The secondary settlement can be reduced or even eliminated either by increasing the
time of temporary overloading or by using a heavier overload.
Advantages of preloading:
Equipment cost is less since only conventional earthmoving equipment is needed.
Any contractor can perform the work, as specialized knowledge in not required.

Generally this technique requires the application of a surcharge loading to squeeze water out of the
soft clay soils. Such loading must be equal to or in excess of the service loading to which the
developed land will be subjected. In vacuum consolidation, the vacuum pressure applied contributes to
the surcharge loading, an actual surcharge heights are reduced. An additional important advantage of
the vacuum is the isotropic nature of the vacuum pressure and the correlated improvement of the
stability under preloading, reducing considerably the risk of slope failure resulting from the

The Ethics Of The Bridge
Ethics:
The bridge we have created is ethical in the sense that it has a dependable purpose relative to its
location, and its uses. By implementing a floating bridge, in a non linear terrain in the city of
Champong Chnnang it allows for effective, and efficient commute between two villages. This idea
allows for the saving of time and money, by not implementing a less efficient method of transportation
and trade between the two villages. THIS ISN T GOOD ENOUGH, LET EDWARD ADD SHIT TO
THIS TOO.
Sustainable Design:
The bridge has a very well designed sustainability concept, relying on upcycled materials to complete
the bridge. These upcycled materials consist of the wood, the fishing net, the oil barrels and the plastic
shielding for the barrels. These materials can be used for functional roles in the design, such as
platforms, floatation, safety lines across hand rails, and so on. The bridge s sustainability concept can
be further supported by the ease of replacing materials, and not throwing them in the bin. The
materials such as wood, plastic and pieces of metallic bolts and nuts can be recycled and reused for
other purposed such as furniture, storage or completely recycled back into a molten form for the
metallic objects.
Lifecycle Analysis:
Before
Wood: The wood used in the project will be locally sourced, to reserve costs of importation. The wood
will start in the surrounding rainforests of the lakes. After chopping down sufficient trees the wood

Aristotle s Philosophy On Ethics
Nicomachean ethics is the name of Aristotle s work on ethics based on his lectures. It is said that
Nicomachean ethics were named after either Aristotle s father or son , as they were both named
Nicomachus. Aristotle believed that happiness is what makes a person pure. To prove his point,
Aristotle believed that there were four moral virtues that worked together; the virtue of great soul, the
virtue of justice, the virtue of practical judgment and the virtue of being a truly good friend. Ten books
have been written from Aristotle s lecture notes.
Aristotle s first seven books focus on the virtues he believed were important and was believed to have
his thoughts on ethics based on Plato and Socrates philosophy. In the first seven books, Aristotle goes
over basic virtues and how they relate to each other and to moral values. Over the next few
paragraphs, I will explain my understandings of Aristotle s virtues from these books.
In Book I, Aristotle starts to discuss what Plato stated about the Theory of Forms, but mainly wants to
define happiness, what is also known as Eudaimonia. Aristotle states in Book I, three ways in which
people associate with happiness; slavish way of pleasure (majority of people), refined and active way
of politics, (which aims at honor), and the way of contemplation (Aristotle: Nicomachean Ethics).
These three things are said to be what people aim for in their own sake of happiness.
In Book II, Aristotle speaks about the nature of human

Legal Liability In Corrections

Article Source
Jail employees may be legally liable for their actions (Clear, Reisig, Petrosino Cole p.77). This is
relevant to the first half of the class because as we discuss corrections it s important to know who is
responsible within the system. I chose it because I experienced a warden stepping down for the actions
of another staff member. Everyone should be responsible for their own actions but Supervisors,
including wardens can be liable for the actions of their staff members (Clear et al., p.78). I understand
that an administrator should be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I agree, staff being held accountable for behaviors toward inmates is good because it reduces abuse
towards inmates. Administrators being held accountable for their staff is necessary because they are in
charge of their work group but to penalize the administrator for the staff s mistake I don t agree with. I
believe the person that did wrong should be penalized although that administrator may become
harsher on the policies imposed to reduce the chances of a mistake to reoccur in the future.
Legal liability in corrections is an important concept because it addresses who is responsible for what.
It is important to know that staff is legally responsible for their actions and administrators are
responsible for their staff. It s important to know that inmates can also hold staff accountable if being
mistreated but unfortunate to know inmates can dispute an allegation not harmful such as

Lgb Social Work
From above paragraphs we have learnt that lesbian, gay, bisexual youth face discrimination and
marginalization fostered by the social systems that serve them. As a result a social worker should
analyze prudently the use and misuse of power in the client s life (critical consciousness) and promote
engagement to foster social justice (Wagaman, 2016). As stated by Wagaman (2016), the positive
wellbeing of LGB youth can be ensured through such services in accordance with their empowerment.
In order to achieve that as a social worker, I should ensure the programs and interventions for young
LGB people to address structural inequities as well as I should create awareness and engage them in
efforts to challenge the systemic that cause or reinforce ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is understood from the above understandings, that due to violence, stigma and discrimination that
LGB youth face daily, the majority among them face adverse mental health such as depression, suicide
and anxiety. As an ally of LGB youth, I should foster awareness and dialogues by participating in
social activism in order to create safer space for LGB youth to break the social isolation and provide a
safe place to explore their self identity (Vaccaro, August Kennedy, 2012). Meanwhile, I should
consider the social stigma associated with LGB youth and be prepared to counter the backlash from
family members of youth, the heterosexual community and even the supervisors (Lee Brotman, 2015).
Besides, this provided the awareness of human rights of LGB youth in a larger community is more
likely an initiative of individual worker (Lee Brotman, 2015) which requires proper wide angle
knowledge on the issue and the above reflection equipped me well. By fostering collective and
individual empowerment, I as a social worker can enable the vulnerable LGB youth to have control
over the issues that affect them directly (Lee Brotman, 2015). To achieve the same, I realise I should

Advantages Of Statistical Process Control (SPC)
3.1 Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Statistical Process Control is an analytical decision making tools which allow us to see when a process
is working correctly and when it is not. Variation is present in any process, deciding when the
variation is natural and when it needs correction is the key to quality control.
The foundation for Statistical Process Control was laid by Dr. Walter Shewart working in the Bell
Telephone Laboratories in the 1920s conducting research on methods to improve quality and lower
costs. He developed the concept of control with regard to variation, and came up with Statistical
Process Control Charts which provide a simple way to determine if the process is in control or not.
Dr. W. Edwards Deming built upon Shewart s work and took the concepts to Japan following WWII.
There, Japanese industry adopted the concepts whole heartedly. The resulting high quality of Japanese
products is world renowned. Dr. Deming is famous throughout Japan as a God of quality . Today, SPC
is used in manufacturing facilities around the world.
3.2 Advantage of SPC Implementation
It provides a means of detecting error at inspection.
It leads to more uniform ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Supervise the process so that the operators quickly notice if a new assignable cause is introduced in
the process, in such case eliminate it.
When the SPC program is performed the process variation will be reduced, the cost of poor quality

tools called the Magnificent Seven can be used. The Magnificent Seven or the Seven Quality Control
(7QC) tools are graphical statistical tools and methods for continuous improvement. A list of the tools

when in fact, they are really not. Because of this perception, Import beer costs more than domestic

product that is not very differentiated. The main differences can be attributed to the brewing process,
price, and packaging. Scale economies is high among national companies due to their large size. Their
ability to distribute fixed costs is easily done because of the large volume that is produced. Their is
also economies of scale in product extension and brand proliferation. Regional companies have
moderate economies of scale. Regionals do not produce as much as larger natioanal companies but,
they can still spread some of there costs over their moderate volumes. Local brewers have low
economies of scale. Production is so small that it is very difficult to distribute costs. A local brewer
cannot spread the cost of advertising over their product without having to raise the price of their
product considerably. Capacity utilization in the U.S. Beer industry is between 75% and 85%. The
beer industry is suffering from overcapacity. Despite this, a few companies are still expanding while
others are closing down some operations. Because of flat sales, their is no need to overproduce.

guided the prosecution that devastated the legal groundwork of Jim Crow segregation. Second, as an
associate justice of the Supreme Court and the nation s first black justice. He crafted a particular
jurisprudence distinguishable by uncompromising liberalism, unusual attentiveness to empirical
scrutiny beyond the formalities of law, and an indefatigable willingness to dissent. Thurgood Marshall

During this period, Thurgood was asked by the United Nations and the United Kingdom to help
allocate the constitutions of the emerging African nations of Ghana. It was perceived that the person
who so auspiciously fought for the virtue of America s tyrannized minority, would be the impeccable
choice to warrant the rights of the White citizens, in these two former European colonies. After
accumulating an imposing record of Supreme Court opposition to state sponsored discriminatory
chauvinism, including the landmark Brown v. Board decision in 1954, President John F. Kennedy
appointed Thurgood Marshall to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. While in this

in Italy near Genoa (Heat Moon 4). Columbus had four other siblings (Phillips 64). Columbus
childhood was a tough one, even though he had a great parental guidance. Columbus grew up in a

widespread spiritual dissolution and social pessimism, a continent deeply in need of a rebirth (Heat
Moon 5). The era of which Columbus lived in was really in need of a make over. The way people
acted, their decisions, and the changes in their religion were not acceptable to any standard. That time
period was very boring and depressing and it was difficult to be happy. Christopher spent some of his
early years at his father s trade of weaving and later he became a sailor on the Mediterranean [Sea] (
Christopher Columbus ). By the time he was 31 or 32, Christopher had become a master mariner in
the Portuguese Merchant Service ( Christopher Columbus ). Later in life, Columbus had married Doña
Felipa Perestrello o Moníz (Heat Moon 7). After eight years of persistence and two rejections from
Portugal, Columbus was granted the finance needed to complete the voyage from Spain ( Christopher
Columbus ). He wanted

So many weapons have been used to prove multiple points, so many that it s hard to list them all; racism, sexism, discrimination against religion and sexuality, drugs and alcohol, all of these factor into the roles of fights everyday. The American Identity can t be pinpointed to just one conclusion for my generation, given the conflict throughout the differing minds of them. However, the American Identity should consist of being truly free, and not having to worry about being killed for anything that you can t control (race, sexuality, religion, etc). The gown is made out of layers of dove gray tulle layered one on top of the other giving the gown an A line shape of the dress instead of a ball gown feel if it was mad out of another material. The tool also gives the gown a light airy feel and would give the gown a lot of movement as the wear walks. Case Study The Vla And Its Mobile Sticker Propaganda The solution to this problem, the VLA and its mobile sticker propaganda, is to educate parents with infants and children on the safety of childhood vaccines. By creating a non profit organization that educates, promotes, fundraises and campaigns vaccines as safe and effective is the best solution to end the anti vaccine war. Using data and statistics collected from case studies on vaccine preventable disease outbreaks, parents can then make an informed decision on vaccinating their child. This non profit campaign will effectively work if presented in the right setting. United Nations Mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea UNMEE in Ethiopia and Eritrea Introduction In June 2000, after the two years of a border dispute, Ethiopia and Eritrea agreed on Cessation of Hostilities organised by Algeria and the Organization of African Unity (OAU). In July, the Security Council established the United Nations Mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea (UNMEE), and in September, UNMEE was authorised by the Council to ensure the observance of security commitments and to monitor the cessation of hostilities. What challenges did the mission face? As mentioned earlier, despite of main military actions, UNMEE operation was limited to quite sensitive and was repeatedly hindered by reluctance of the parties towards the Mission. When UNMEE relation with the two states deteriorated highly in late autumn 2005, Eritrea forbidden all UNMEE air forces from its air zone and restricted the UNMEE personnel´s freedom of movement. In addition, Ethiopian authority refused a decision of the Eritrea Ethiopia Boundary Commission without precondition. One of the most crucial event happened when the Agreement on Cessation of Hostilities was violated by forcible entrance of about 1000 Eritorean Defence Forces at the UNMEE checkpoint in Maileba, which is located in TSZ. In the consequence, Jordanian battalion who were in charged in this UNMEE checkpoint, were overthrown by the temporal control of the armed Eritrean militia. This study used infants and tested their visual abilities. The researchers tested the depth perception in the infants used in the study. They put the infants on a glass table that had a shallow side as well as a deep side, and the infant would crawl on it. I was wondering if the mothers of these infants could have any effect on the experiment. I wanted to know if the infants were told to crawl over by their mothers from the shallow side of the table before the deep side of the table. I figured if the mother was on the shallow end of the table and the infant crawled to her that they would trust the mother more and crawl over the deep side. Typically, the only requirement is to make sure colleagues are up to date on the employee s work and that the employee s absence will not cause issues to the business in any way (Branson, 2014). The rationale behind this is that employees will manage their own time well because it is in the best interest of their careers to do so. This is different from a relatively more traditional Paid Time Off (PTO) policy, which essentially groups vacation, sick, and personal days under the same umbrella while establishing a cap on the overall time off (Sine, 2017). So my life started the same as any other inflated dead cow in Ada, Ohio. I was made in the second week of January which meant I was going to be used for one of the upcoming championship games. Before I was shipped out I was dreaming of being thrown by Tom Brady and Andrew Luck or being carried by Beast Mode and Eddie Lacy. After my fellow footballs and I heard we were going to Foxborough I knew we would play a role in a historic game that could be Brady s last chance for four rings or Luck s first of many super bowl appearances. We arrived a few days before the AFC Championship Game. I was thankfully one of the 6 outdoor footballs and not one of the balls only used for kicking or practice because I wanted to feel what it was like to be thrown by what could two of the best quarterbacks of all time when it is said and done. I also didn t want to be the football that missed a field goal because of the wind or snow that is present at a night game at Gillette. We were picked up by Jim McNally and John Jastremski, the Patriot equipment managers. They took us to their office and set us in the corner behind their desk. I was on top of the bag so I had a perfect view of their computers and I was stunned by what I saw. Jim and John were talking to Brady about how he wanted us prepared. • 27. Surcharge Essay The process is done by simply placing a surcharge fill on top of the soil that requires consolidation. The excess load is referred to as surcharge load. The load must be placed in several stages so as to prevent instability. Once the predicted consolidation is achieved, the fill can be removed and construction can be started. Surcharge which was installed as a temporary load, can be removed when the settlements exceed the foretold final settlement. Normally this is done only after the remaining excess pore water pressure becomes less than the stress increase caused by the temporary surcharge. If the surcharge is higher than the work load, the soil will always be in an over consolidated state. The secondary compression for over consolidated soil is much smaller than that of normally consolidated soil. The secondary settlement can be reduced or even eliminated either by increasing the time of temporary overloading or by using a heavier overload. Advantages of preloading: Equipment cost is less since only conventional earthmoving equipment is needed. Any contractor can perform the work, as specialized knowledge in not required. By implementing a floating bridge, in a non linear terrain in the city of Champong Chnnang it allows for effective, and efficient commute between two villages. This idea allows for the saving of time and money, by not implementing a less efficient method of transportation and trade between the two villages. THIS ISN T GOOD ENOUGH, LET EDWARD ADD SHIT TO THIS TOO. Sustainable Design: The bridge has a very well designed sustainability concept, relying on upcycled materials to complete the bridge. These upcycled materials consist of the wood, the fishing net, the oil barrels and the plastic shielding for the barrels. These materials can be used for functional roles in the design, such as platforms, floatation, safety lines across hand rails, and so on. The bridge s sustainability concept can be further supported by the ease of replacing materials, and not throwing them in the bin. The materials such as wood, plastic and pieces of metallic bolts and nuts can be recycled and reused for other purposed such as furniture, storage or completely recycled back into a molten form for the metallic objects. It is said that Nicomachean ethics were named after either Aristotle s father or son , as they were both named Nicomachus. Aristotle believed that happiness is what makes a person pure. To prove his point, Aristotle believed that there were four moral virtues that worked together; the virtue of great soul, the virtue of justice, the virtue of practical judgment and the virtue of being a truly good friend. Ten books have been written from Aristotle s lecture notes. Aristotle s first seven books focus on the virtues he believed were important and was believed to have his thoughts on ethics based on Plato and Socrates philosophy. In the first seven books, Aristotle goes over basic virtues and how they relate to each other and to moral values. Over the next few paragraphs, I will explain my understandings of Aristotle s virtues from these books. In Book I, Aristotle starts to discuss what Plato stated about the Theory of Forms, but mainly wants to define happiness, what is also known as Eudaimonia. Aristotle states in Book I, three ways in which people associate with happiness; slavish way of pleasure (majority of people), refined and active way of politics, (which aims at honor), and the way of contemplation (Aristotle: Nicomachean Ethics). These three things are said to be what people aim for in their own sake of happiness. In Book II, Aristotle speaks about the nature of human ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Variation is present in any process, deciding when the variation is natural and when it needs correction is the key to quality control. The foundation for Statistical Process Control was laid by Dr. Walter Shewart working in the Bell Telephone Laboratories in the 1920s conducting research on methods to improve quality and lower costs. He developed the concept of control with regard to variation, and came up with Statistical Process Control Charts which provide a simple way to determine if the process is in control or not. Dr. W. However, Leif Ericson, a Norseman or Viking, was the first European to see the Americas. Columbus was born to Domenico Colombo and Susanna Fontanarossa sometime between August 25 and October 31, 1451 in Italy near Genoa (Heat Moon 4). Columbus had four other siblings (Phillips 64). Columbus childhood was a tough one, even though he had a great parental guidance. Columbus grew up in a medieval world exhausted by war and bigotries, religious corruption and intolerance, a time of widespread spiritual dissolution and social pessimism, a continent deeply in need of a rebirth (Heat Moon 5).
