Life Insurance Coverage
Many people make the mistake of spending a lot of time choosing the right type of life
insurance for their families but they don t spend enough time choosing the amount of coverage
to opt for. Obviously, it s important to choose enough coverage to protect your family. However,
you don t want to choose too high an amount because your premiums may be unnecessarily high
and the cost of your premiums may cut too deeply into your budget. Below is a list of the 4 main
areas of coverage to consider when choosing your life insurance coverage amounts. 1) Major
expenses. It is suggested that the major expenses that your spouse and children will face should be
covered. Figure out how much it will cost to pay off your home. As long as the home is paid

Research Paper On Japanese Cuisine
Japanese cuisine is an appetizing art form brought to us by an ancient food culture. Japan s cuisine
reflects their traditionally shaped and evolutionary food culture. Normally, food in any other
country is just a sustenance for the body, but in Japan there is a deeper meaning. Japanese cuisine
is very authentic in terms of the type of food served and the manner of which it is served. The art
has been influenced by numerous countries only to perfect their cookingstyle and eating habits.
Japan s art in cooking manifested during the Yayoi period (200 B.C. 250 A.D.) when rice was
added to the Japanese diet. It is said that Chinese and Korean descent wanderers introduced this
crop that will later be known as their signature side around the world. Buddhism influenced Japan
and there was a big shift in their daily diet. Around the 7th century Buddhism became the official
religion of the country and the eating of meat was prohibited. This new religion declared that they
should stop eating meat because it was against a Buddhist precept of taking one s life. In this time
period poor people had poor quality of rice in small portions. These people were impacted the most
by the meat and other dietary restrictions.
Since the introduction of Buddhism Japan had taken their food and ... Show more content on

The original type of sushi was developed in Southeast Asia and spread to south China before
being introduced to Japan sometime around the 8th century. Fish was salted and wrapped in
fermented rice. A type of dish called Narezushi was made of this gutted fish which was stored in
fermented rice for months at a time for preservation. The fermentation of rice prevented the fish
from spoiling. The fermented rice was later discarded and the fish was the only part consumed.
But few people saw throwing the rice was a waste and so decided to eat the rice with the sushi.
Thus sushi was

Transformation of Humphrey Van Weyden in Jack London s The Sea Wolf
Jack London s The Sea Wolf is in some ways a philosophical text and a product of its time. The
strain it puts on the reader between a social Darwinist and utilitarian perspective against that of a
more idealistic one is great. Many times the character of Wolf Larsenis a more consistent articulator
of the Darwinian position and seems to always be getting the upper hand argumentatively. However,
it is due to a phenomenological outlook on the events presented within The Sea Wolfthat the
alternative becomes intelligible. After all, the endeavor to improve is one thing which identifies us
as human. The understanding of what constitutes this improvement varies, ... Show more content on

Thus, since both the protagonist and the antagonist of this story read in order to educate
themselves, they both demonstrate a desire toward self betterment.
Yet the two character s understanding of what this self betterment is supposed to be is poles apart.
Where Wolf s view is purely materialistic and Darwinian, Hump s position is, at least initially,
entirely idealistic and metaphysical. And in the outset, each can only see the possibility of their
own position, discounting the other s. Hump confesses in his thoughts, how could I explain my
idealism to this man? How could I put into speech a something felt, a something like the strains of
music heard in sleep, a something that convinced yet transcended utterance? (35). Yet Wolf remains
unshaken from beginning to end. I believe that life is a mess ...It is like yeast, a ferment, a thing
that moves and may move for a minute, an hour, a year, or a hundred years, but that in the end will
cease to move. The big eat the little that they may continue to move, the strong eat the weak that
they may retain their strength. The lucky eat the most and move the longest, that is all, (35). This
contrast endures throughout the entire novel, and even in the end Wolf utters his last word as
BOSH! So, once again, Wolf and Hump hold two entirely different and very singular

Capitalism In The Great Gatsby And The Grapes Of Wrath
In America, most of our parents at a very early age that we should be grateful for what we have.
Even with these teachings Americans are finding it hard to do just that. American Capitalism is
built off of the concept that anybody can buy property, open a practice/start a business, and profit
off of it. One thing that both The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgeraldand The Grapes of Wrath by
John Steinbeck teach us is that the system of American capitalismisn t perfect. Both of these books
show both sides of capitalism, those who make it and those who don t. In both books the rich are
ignoring the bad things they inflict on the poor because it makes them richer and more powerful.

America has been a superpower for about one hundred and ten years. Is it not a coincidence that
about one hundred and ten years ago we as a country started to fully adopt capitalism? Around
that time also America started expanding. Manifest Destiny and expanding our colonial borders
were only able to happen because of the mass amounts of material items we had and the use
/income they provided. It is still one of the reasons why we re still a global superpower and are
home to the best living conditions in the history of mankind. Our poor today still have more money
than the poor people in underdeveloped countries. Even though capitalism is great and had
benefitted the American people in many ways, not everybody has been a winner of the system. No
system can be perfect which is why governments have to learn to adapt and react to situations.
Sometimes the government willingly neglects certain people, or just doesn t know that they haven t
adapted well. For instance, segregation and the Great Depression. In the case of segregation the
government willingly allowed itself to constantly cut down

Bear Creek Ecosystem Lab Report
Introduction In stream based ecosystems, there is a rather delicate balance between the life found
and the relative levels of particular substances in said stream. We use Bioindicators to give us an
idea of the health of a particular ecosystem, which are in turn heavily influenced by the contents of
the environment. Keeping this in mind our group set out to investigate two streams that are in two
completely different areas. This was organized in attempt to get samples from two streams that
would have very distinct contents, serving as a control for our overall hypothesis. Being that the
bioindicators found in each stream would evidently coincide with the levels of substances such as
oxygen, nitrogen, and phosphate to name a few. Organisms... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

It is difficult to gauge to what extent many of the substances measured by the chem contributed
to the bioindicators considering there was little difference between the majority the
meausrments. However conditions such as temp and pH which showed significant differences
coincide with what we already know of animal ecology and homeostasis. Though we didn t see a
large difference between the ion concentrations, the difference was enough to create slight shifts
in pH such that the stream as whole would be more basic at Cherry Creek as opposed to Bear
Creek which was closer to a neutral pH. Which for most organism is ideal in a habitat allowing
them to regulate their own pH without dangers and thus allowing further reproduction. However
our overall results do not completely account for the differences in pH we saw due to the lack of
measurements of phosphate in the Bear Creek analysis. This would further be exasperated by any
mistakes made in the measurements of oxygen and ammonia. It should also be noted that we also
had to account for the fact that it was summer and thus much hotter than what we would normally
expect; thus if a higher temperature in conjunction with other factors discourages or incourages
bioindicators we would have no way knowing since we cannot create a control for the

Supply Irrigation Water Irrigation Systems
Increasing threats of freshwater shortage, reduction in arable land, and more frequent and severe
droughts due to climate change has stimulated research into water saving irrigation strategies
aiming at producing more crop per drop (Morison et al., 2008). The trend in recent years has been
towards conversion of surface irrigationto drip irrigationto improve water use efficiency, plant
quality and, crop yield. Drip irrigation systems have increasingly been used to supply irrigation
water, fertilizers, and pesticides to a wide range of vegetables, field crops, and fruit trees due to
their ability to enable highly localized application of water and nutrients to crops (Kandelous et al.,
2011; Selim et al., 2013). Drip systems can achieve... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Saito and Kitahara (2012) used ground penetration radar to predict the changes in water content
under subsurface drip irrigation. Studies also used disturbed soil samples by gravimetric method
(Al Mefleh and Abu Zreig, 2013; KUMAR et al., 2015) and point based soil water sensors such as
TDR (da Silva et al., 2009; dos Santos et al., 2016) and capacitance probes (FernГЎndez GГЎlvez
and Simmonds, 2006) to estimate SWC variations under drip irrigation. Most of these studies have
investigated two dimensional (2D) wetting patterns changes while three dimensional (3D) wetting
patterns could provide more insights into the changes of wetted radius and depth under drip
irrigation. This is due to the fact that spatial variations in soil properties induce spatial variations in
water distribution patterns between drippers (Or, 1996) and consequently sensor placements to
detect wetted soil volumes around drippers become challenging. Because it requires large number
of measurement points distributed vertically and horizontally around an emitter to monitor
variations in wetting patterns which is laborious and time consuming and practically infeasible
sometimes if point based sensors used. Therefore, it is necessary to explore alternative soil water
sensing techniques which could provide spatially dense measurements at small to field scales.
Distributed temperature sensing (DTS) systems are optoelectronic devices which

Partnerships are usually inexpensive and easy to form. II. General partners have unlimited
liability for all debts. The general partnership is terminated when a general partner dies or

advantage is the cost of getting started. The disadvantages are: 1) unlimited liability, 2) limited

The complexity related to the manufacturing process allows producing only certain number of
unique labels which are replicated over and again for all the products. Thus, every label does not
carry unique identity rather a group of labels carry same identity and which is different from other
group. These labels cannot act as DNA for one item and therefore neither useful in supply chain
management nor for the blue prints information of the product.
For addressing these problems, few other techniques have been proposed which includes such as
Radio frequency identification tag or RFID, encrypted bar codes (1D and 2D). Bar codes (1D)
contain the linear lines of different width arranged parallel in different sequences depending upon
the code associated with it. Similarly, 2D barcodes contain rectangles of different dimension
arranged in matrix form and, each rectangle denotes a character. Thus, the combination of
rectangles arrangement in 2D square matrix makes a unique code for identification. Information
related to the product can be uploaded on a central server and coupled with the code given on
product barcode. Therefore, information regarding any product can be accessed using code
generated by scanning barcode. Similarly, they are very useful in product tracking in supply
chain. The labels having barcode are easy to produce by simple printing on paper or polymeric
film which can be attached or sewed to the fabric. For avoiding the

The Dissolution of Yugoslavia The country of Yugoslavia was first formed as a kingdom in 1918
after combining land areas from the now both defunct Ottoman and Austro Hungarian Empires and
then recreated as a Socialist state in 1945 after the Axis powers were defeated in World War II.
The Soviet Union took control of Yugoslaviaafter the war and wrote a new constitution for the

Exceptions to this pattern of stability were the marked increase of the Albanian population and a
steep decline in the numbers of Jews, ethnic Germans, and Hungarians after World War II
(Cushman). Another definitive cause of the Yugoslavian breakup was the nationalism of ethnic
groups in the early 1990s. Nationalism replaced communism as the dominant ideology in the
country. Slovenia and then Croatia were the first to break away, but this caused Serbia to become
hostile towards the two nations. Consequently, the war in Croatia led to hundreds of thousands of
refugees and also brought back memories of the harsh acts of the Nazis in the 1940s. By 1992 a
further conflict had broken out in Bosnia, which had also succeeded from Yugoslavia. The Serbs
who lived there were determined in remaining within Yugoslavia and to help build a more
homogenous Serbia. They received strong backing from radical groups in Belgrade. Muslims
were driven from their homes in carefully planned operations that become known as ethnic
cleansing . By 1993 the Bosnian Muslim government was besieged in the capital Sarajevo,
surrounded by Bosnian Serb forces who controlled around 70% of Bosnia. In Central Bosnia, the
mainly Muslim army was fighting a separate war against Bosnian Croats who wished to be part of
a greater Croatia. The presence of United Nations peacekeepers was required to contain the
situation. The idea from culminated in the Yugoslav Peace Conference,

Effects Of Pesticides On The Environment
Over two thirds of the plant (planet I assume?) is covered by it, and humans will die within 3 to
7 days without it. Water is the most precious resource on the planet, but can also be taken for
granted especially in first world countries where it is always available at the faucet. This modern
marvel of having clean water so easily accessible is threatened by another modern invention, the
application of pesticides. While pesticides have narrowed the gap between actual yield and yield
potential in our conventional crops, they are also a source of nontarget poisoning responsible
for fish kills, reproductive failures in birds, and human illnesses (Arias Estevez et al, 2007). In
fact, only about 0.1% of pesticides actually reach their targeted pest (Pimentel, 1995). Most
pesticide ends up in the environment where it is transported or degraded through volatilization,
runoff into surface water and groundwater, or taken up by nontarget organisms (van der Werf,
1996). The movement of pesticides into groundwater poses a grave threat to the health of our
communities. According to a 1999 USGS survey, around 50% of water samples collected from
wells contained at least one pesticide (Arias Estevez et al, 2007). In Ohio, a well testing program
started by the Water Quality Laboratory of Heidelberg College found that wells were
contaminated most frequently by atrazine and alachlor, albeit at very low levels and in less than
5% of wells (Baker, 1990). There is a need to identify pesticide

Analysis Of The Interlopers And The Machine That Won The War
What do you prefer to read about? Maybe you like reading fiction or nonfiction, about heroes and
villains, in past or future. Whatever your preferences, when most people read a book, they typically
want to read about something relatable. People want to read about people that are like them. The
Interlopers and The Machine That Won the War
are both short stories full of interesting plot points
that keep the readers hooked right until the last word. The Interlopers is about two men hunting
each other in the night, until a twist happens. The Machine That Won the War
is about three men
revealing secrets about how the war was truly won. However, The Interlopers offers a more realistic
plot and relatable characters than The Machine that Won the War. In The Interlopers, the short story
starts out by taking us to a forest of mixed growth somewhere on the eastern spurs of the
Carpathians (Saki, The Interlopers). The winter night is cold and stormy, with the wind blowing
wildly and the animals uneasy, there was movement and unrest among the creatures that were wont
to sleep through the dark hours (Saki, The Interlopers). The forests are very steep, and the game it
kept for hunting was not that great, however the two characters and their family have quarreled
over it for years. The narrow strip of precipitous woodland that lay on its outskirt was not
remarkable for the game it harbored or the shooting it afforded. (Saki, The Interlopers). Hunting in
these woods is the character

A Brief Note On The Upper Wabash River
The Upper Wabash River faces a vast majority of issues that affect the quality of the watershed. The
watershed has long been used for agricultural purposes that cause stress on the watershed. Through
various point source and non point source pollution various water systems have been affected with
some being even impaired.
3.1 Nutrients
One of the major stresses within the Upper Wabash River is nutrients. The state of Indiana has a
target of 10 mg/L of nitrate levels. During an water quality study there were 178 nitrate samples
collected with 109 of the samples exceeding the target. Nitrate concentrations ranged from 9.34 mg

annually. The nitrate load is above the target load (51,380,095 pounds) of the area, along with
total phosphorus (1,541,400 pounds), and E. coli (5,479,370 billion of organisms). Every
subwatershed within the Upper Wabash River Watershed is over the target load for E. coli and
every subwatershed but one is over the nitrate target load. (Upper Wabash River Watershed

3.2 Agricultural Run off To enhance crop production in the area farmers apply commercial
fertilizers, legumes, crop residue, manure, and land applied sludge to their crops. While these
products help with crop production they contain high nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus.
Excess nutrients are a major cause to impaired biotic communities and algae blooms. When algae
blooms occur the dissolved oxygen content within the water decreases. (Upper Wabash River

The Tragedy Of Hamlet
In The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark by William Shakespeare, many scholars are known
to debate the controversial topics that are present within the play. This includes whether or not
Hamlet is pretending to be mad, if an Oedipus complex is present within the play, and if it is the
reason for his delay to action. In Hamletthere is evidence that Hamlet is only feigning madness and
in reality identifies with Claudius, thereby delaying Claudius death. This is largely in part due to
the Oedipus complex that is present within Hamlet. In Hamlet it is debated whether or not Hamlet s
madness in the playis real. However, the evidence points to the idea that Hamlet is only pretending
to be mad. When Hamlet tells Horatio As I perchance hereafter... Show more content on

Ultimately, the reason for the delay to action in Hamlet is left ambiguous but, one such credible
explanation is that the delay is due to the Oedipus complex. Hamlet sees his own sexual desires
manifested in Claudius so therefore he is unable to take action and kill the man he identifies with.
Sigmund Freud states that, Hamlet is able to do anything except take vengeance on the man who
did away with his father and took that father s place with his mother, the man who shows him the
repressed wishes of his own childhood realized (41). Hamlet is unable to punish Claudius for
killing his father because Hamlet realizes that he himself is literally no better than the sinner whom
he is to punish (Freud 41). This idea is confirmed in the last moments of the play when Hamlet s
mother dies. Hamlet throughout the play struggles to kill Claudius because he represents Hamlet s
childhood wishes, however, only after Gertrude dies is Hamlet s childhood wishes killed along with
her. Hamlet is finally able to kill Claudius because Gertrude has now died. Because Gertrude is
the object of Hamlet s desire, and she has now died, Hamlet s desire for his mother has also died
(Schaeffer). With nothing left to cause him to identify with Claudius, Hamlet is finally able to
complete the task that was given to

Osteoporosis Is Caused By The Reduction Of Bone Density...
Osteoporosis is caused by the reduction of bone density and quality; especially in the case of the
spine, hips, and wrists. It is known as the silent epidemic , because this disease has so symptoms
and is usually not noticed until a bone fracture occurs.
Some diagnostic methods are Bone mineral density measurement and classification, Peripheral dual
energy x ray absorptiometry (pDXA), CT based absorptiometry, Quantitative computed tomography
(QCT), and Quantitative ultrasound densitometry (QUS). Patients indicated for these test are ones
who qualify for high risk.
Osteoporosis is mostly found in women that are postmenopausal and in men 50 and older.
Osteoporosis happens with age, poor diet, unhealthy lifestyle, and it can be genetically indicated.
When the body ages, bone creation is decreased, or bone degeneration is increased, or both at the
same time. Without the necessary nutrients and minerals the bones start to thin out or hollow out,
and this causes them to weaken and become fragile.

Placing the Blame in Macbeth Essay
Placing the Blame in Macbeth
The blame for the tragedy of Macbeth must be apportioned between the three witches, Lady
Macbeth and Macbeth himself.
The three witches play a very important role in affecting the actions of Macbeth with their ability to
steer him in the direction they desire. They not only use their supernatural powers but also prey on
his greed and ambition.
All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee thane of Glamis!
All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, thane of Cawdor!
All hail Macbeth! That shalt be king hereafter!
These predictions are effective in attracting Macbeth s attention because they feed off his desire for
what they promise. At this point in the play he is the newly ... Show more content on

His vivid imagination, coupled with his fear of the witches and the supernatural in general, is
shown in the lines:
Macbeth I conjure you, by that which you profess
(howe er you come to know it) answer me;
though you untie the winds and let them fight against the churches, though the yeasty waves
confound and swallow navigation up
His weakness is also shown in the way that once he starts his path he becomes consumed by the
process and plunges deeper into a quagmire of murder and tyranny:
Macbeth I am in blood
Step t in so far that, should I wade no more,
Returning were as tedious as go o er
Another set of beliefs held at that time was that all things were set in their correct places and this
applied to people as well. The play could be hinting that Macbeth should have been able to master
his own ambition and reconcile himself to his place in life.
The fact that the witches can affect Macbeth so easily shows what a weak character he has. The
first predictions have such a strong influence on Macbeth that he sends his wife, Lady Macbeth, a
letter asking her advice on how to respond to the witches words, showing again the weakness of his
character.
The tragedy of Macbeth could simply be the tale of a hero who is destroyed by a certain weakness
of character, by ambition

The Carbon Cycle And The Earth s Climate
The carbon cycle on Earth is essentially how all organisms maintain life on our planet. According
to the article The Carbon Cycle and The Earth s Climate, carbon is stored inside our Earth and is
released in our atmosphere, plants then combine this element with sunlight and water to go through
the process of photosynthesis. Photosynthesis allows plants to form carbohydrates that store energy
and this energy is later used to carry out life functions. Photosynthesis is also responsible for other
organisms to carry out their life functions as well because the byproduct it produces is oxygen. The
carbon cycle is not only accountable for making byproducts that organisms need to live, it is also
responsible for maintaining the climate on the planet. CO2 is a greenhouse gas that traps infrared
radiation heat in our atmosphere, it maintains temperatures on Earth so that it never gets too cold or
too hot for organisms to maintain life (Columbia University). The Carbon Cycle is responsible for
maintaining temperatures on our planet but it does need help from living organisms to aid with the
process. According to the article What are Phytoplankton, organisms such as Phytoplankton are
responsible for the transfer of carbon dioxidefrom our atmosphere to our oceans, Phytoplankton
take CO2 from the atmosphere absorb it and either get eaten by other organisms or fall to the
ocean floor. This process takes greenhouse gasses from our atmosphere and puts it in the depths of

Main Theme Of The Aboriginal View Regarding The Natural...
AboriginalIn Canada, many Aboriginal people highly value traditional knowledge that the
environment can teach them. They have traditional ways of using natural resources. They also
have a sort of theory that a person is connected by the food they eat, their environment, and the
impact of lifestyle choices. These three things are essential to have a good quality of life. In
Aboriginal communities, oral history is very important. It is passed down, from Elders to children
about practical knowledge of how to live off the land and their other cultural history. They always
try to heal and protect mother nature. SocietalSociety has two completely different sides on the
subject of environmentalism. The one side will brush of the problems that the environment faces

What is the main theme of the Aboriginal view regarding the natural environment? The main
theme that appears constantly throughout the history of the Aboriginals is to have respect for the
natural environment. The Aboriginals will have complete disregard for anything that is
processed or man made, because it does not allow for the environment to be appreciated as it
should be. Generation after generation of Aboriginals are taught that the land that they live on is
sacred, and if the land is respected, then you will respected in return by the land as well as Mother
Nature. 2.What is the relationship between the Creator and the people? The relationship that
people have with the Creator is a sacred one that should not be disturbed in any way. Sometimes
people take that relationship for granted and lose their way to happiness because they have lost the
Creator s guidance. In order to maintain that stable relationship, respect for all things living is
essential. 3.Based on the Catholic reading of Christian stewardship, how are we to distribute the

Baba Joon Essay
Baba Joon is the newly released movie by writer/director Yuval Delshad. With a film career that
grew from the documentary world, this is his first feature. Never one to shy from reality,
Delshad turned to a subject that spoke to his heart; the father/son relationship. To create
authenticity, the movie is filmed in the dusty village where Delshad grew up and the actors
speak a blend of Hebrew and Farsi, just like it was in the 1980 s of his childhood. Delshad loves
the fact that life imitates art, My baby, Yitamar, was conceived during the start of photography
and he is already trying to crawl! Baba Joon centers on the conflict of a traditional father,
Yitzhak, whose life has been hard and demanding, and his gently defiant son who, as a pre teen,
is refusing to learn how to farm turkeys. The mother understands that their son, Moti, has no
passion for the family livelihood but Yitzhak takes the decision badly. And thus ends the hopes
of all good dreams; the father s desire to pass on his father s business is doomed by his son s
utter disinterest. Here is a kid who has no love of turkeys, no desire to learn the trade and no
appreciation of the art of poultry manufacture. More painful is the perceived lack of respect that
the father senses in Moti s lack of interest. This is the farm that his father built with sweat labor and

have a difficult time seeing the way they response to events. We must understand the culture before

Persuasive Essay On Respect In Society
And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do
for your country. My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but
what, together, we can do for the freedom of man , states the revered and sound late President
Kennedy, a man who truly believed in the cruciality of respect within and for the nation one
inhabits. A society is not only the making up a community, but it is a factor reflecting the ideals of
justice, morality, and the overall character of every individual within the given society. Without
respect, without consideration for the greater good, there is simply no reasonable possibility of a
prospering and flourishing society ever emerging. In this current world one experiences day in and
day out, the slaughtering of the innocent, the unrelenting violence, the angst between races, and the
lack of integrity all influence the declining of our once thriving nation, therefore causing a
termination to the aspects of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Within the last year, if one
were to access any form of news media, more than half of the material displayed would include
one of the three following topics: terrorism, massacre, death. In correlation to the definition of
respect, a feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities,
or achievements, those three topics do not seem to elicit one s pride and devotion to bettering

Aristotle Segregates
Aristotle segregates virtues into two categories and they are moral and intellectual. Aristotle
believes that moral virtues is a product of habits, while intellectual virtues come from learning or
life experience. He stated that since nothing...can form a habit contrary to its nature (Book II, 1),
virtues are only possible to form by habits. For intellectual virtues, it can only be perfected over a
period of a time, as well with experience. A more concrete point that will solidify this conclusion is
that virtues are first learnt, then it will be presented, and the everyday life experience of the virtueis
in diversified position and situations will lead a way for development. Aristotleas well goes in detail

The study essentially looked upon different variations and means to figuring out ways on how to
catch lies using alternative CKT or Concealed Knowledge Test methods. This particularly focuses
itself on the recognition of introspective, privileged information using participant reaction scores.
Before going over the actual study, the paper lends itself to explaining what may be considered
confounding factors later shown in the study by listing out problems that might arise with lie
detectors. The Lykken study led to researchers using something called the Guilty Knowledge Test

There were two variables installed, one of which focused on a photo stimuli and the other using a

were then randomly assigned either levels of constraints in which they enacted upon the tasks at
different intervals and sessions using something called familiar or unfamiliar methods. As stated
earlier, multiple probe methods were used during the tests varying in degree to the order in which
participants went through the tasks. The students, 36 of them, went through photographs of faces on
the photo constraints and a couple were chosen at random to observe said faces in a limited
amount of time. After the observations were over, the students were asked questions regarding

looks. In the second constraint, the rest of the participants worked on different words and, like the
earlier photo variable, there were students picked at random to participate in a smaller probe in
which they were revealed particular words and asked to memorize the order in which they were

Evaluation Of A Risk Corridor
For clarification a risk corridor is a formed idea that if insurance companies rake in higher cost
than expected the government will reimburse the insurer to a certain percentage. As an example,
if an insurer s actual claims in 2014 are at least 3% greater than the claims projected when the
insurer set 2014 rates, the government must reimburse the insurer for half of the excess
(Radnofsky, 2014). On top of that, if total claims jump 8% the government would be liable for
80% of the excess costs. This is a really risky move because the unhealthy population with insurance
could be extremely costly. The risk corridors gave third party payers the re insurance by
providing insurance to all parties. These insurers in 2015 needed massive bailouts from the
government for substantial losses reaching 2.5 billion. This can become an increasing expense
over the years. Most of all the taxpayers will be on the hook for these enormous losses, while
funding private shareholder owned insurance companies. The main issue at hand was the
Department of Health and Human Services didn t pay the full percentage that was applicable
under the risk corridor, which bankrupt some insurance providers. These small changes slowly
deteriorate the free exchange market the affordable care act was built upon. The CEO Kelly
Crowe of National Alliance stated few businesses can sustain hits like the CO OPs and other small
and new insurance companies have endured because of the federal government s

The Marketing Environment A.The Macroenvironment: PEST Analysis We shall see how
Spotify integrates this broader set of forces in its strategy. Political factors: We believed that if
we could build a service which was better than piracy, then we could convince people to stop
illegal file sharing, and start consuming music legally again (Ek, 2013). It tries to attract
customers who previously relied on illegal options for their music needs. Digital piracy is the
single most important factor restraining development of the music business. Governments were
involved to fight against it and established laws such as Digital Economy Act in the U.K. The
turnaround dates back to 2009 when these anti piracy laws combined with The Pirate Bay trial
inclined customers to try the new Spotify platform. It has successfully helped curb the illegal
downloading of music since it does not allow you to download the track. If you want to own the
track, you will be redirected to a legal vendor. Therefore Spotify claims to have reduced the
number of people who pirated music by 25% between 2009 and 2011. As such the streaming
industry helps governments to combat piracy but in the medium; to long term some political forces
could play against this industry: pressure from governments to ensure that the laws are created to

Endangered Animals Are Endangered
Tigers are primarily killed to supply underground black markets with its organs, pelts, and bones.
These items are highly regarded in eastern medicine (although these treatments have been disproven
and have no real medical value). Innocent endangered animals are being killed for false hopes and
cures within the eastern culture. Poachinghas traditionally been defined as the illegal hunting,
killing or capturing of wild animals. The difference between poaching and hunting is one, is that
poaching is hunting without the approval of whomever controls or owns the land. Even though
some people believe poaching creates lots of business and brings in major income for certain
smaller, poorer countries, it endangers our species because it reduces the population of rare or

Catullus Poetry Analysis
A less theoretical definition of poetry is, putting the best words in the best possible order. A poet
may incorporate the theory as follows. The poet may astutely choose words possibly with a
double meaning in order to indirectly convey a message, evoke emotions, or to slander. Then, the
poet may unconventionally place such words and phrases perhaps out of expected order for the
sake of creating a wordpicture, emphasizing the speaker s feelings, or offering tangibility to the
poem. By implementing this idea onto poetic works, the poet will have auspiciously written a
superb poem. This theory may be applied to a few of Catullus s poems specifically Carmen 5 ,
Carmen 8 , and Carmen 85. Catullus s meticulous choice of words and arrangement highlight the
central focus of the poem, obliquely criticize traditional Roman law, manipulate the audience s
attitude, transmit the speaker s emotions, paint word pictures, and offer symbolic meaning
consequently producing a successful poem. For starters, Carmen 5 is an amorous poem Catullus
wrote directed at his forbidden lover, Lesbia. Catullus insists they should disregard the rumors of
old men, because while the sun is able to return, they only have one life to seize. Therefore,
Catullus demands hundreds and thousands of kisses in a jumbled up manner from Lesbia, so their
ardent passion cannot ever be cursed by the wicked ones. The strategic placement of the words let
us live and let us loveliterally place Lesbia as the central focus of the work. In the original Latin
text, the opening line reads as, vivamus, mea Lesbia, atque amemus, which the words vivamus and
amemus enclose Lesbia and thus point to her as the center of the poet s life and love
(Fredricksmeyer 436). It suggests Catullus viewed Lesbia as much more than an erotic, love poem
topic. Evidently, the poem is enhanced through Catullus placing the best words in the best possible
order, because the main subject of the poem is intentionally given significant importance.
Furthermore, in Carmen 5 Catullus chose the best words, when describing the people, whose
comments he and Lesbia should not be concerned about as sour old men (Gregory, L. 2). The
actual Latin words for the

European Colonization and African American Development
European Colonization and African American Development During the period of 1885 1905, as
Africa was divided into 55 small states, an era of economic tug of war between the British and the
French known as The Scramble for Africa became the target of prosperity. While campaigned to
end slavery and all affiliations with the slave trade, this method of colonial rule not only effectively
controlled various territories, but also altered the lives of indigenous African people. Through
tactics of indirect and direct control performed by the Europeans, land was seized in the midst of
turmoil between the opposing parties as imperialism was established in the continent of profitable
resources. As a significant and major impairment in the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The thingification of indigenous African people equates to European colonization in a way that
inevitably works to the disadvantage of the oppressor s victims. Despite the difference between
French and British colonialism, the impact on blacks remained the same, and is clearly displayed
through the gradual assimilation with each foreign group. Their actions reinforced slavery in a new
light of mental captivity, which was the very thing that Europeans sought out to destroy as
redeemers of the new land. Africans were not allowed to maintain any connection to their original
cultures at all, and were even placed in positions as elite French leaders to represent examples of
what they could one day potentially become. Black slavery, ingrained racial prejudice against
blacks, and, after its partition by European powers, the necessity to rid Africa of colonial rule and
exploitation, are all factors of what eventually provided for the stimulus to the pan African idea
and action (Lynch, 32). This new wave of liberation is what motivated blacks to make a change for
the better, and sought to unite separated Africans in the struggle for freedom. Africa for Africans,
as this philosophy came to be known, called for an end to decolonization, and a start to the
emergence of

Psychology Study Tips
Tips
Tips are ways to shift the balance of influence or power. When dealing with students that have
special need challenges some tips to shift the balance of influence that affect their behavior or
mood can include length of time on the bus or van, distractions, and/or disturbances. The length of
the trip on the bus can be a stress trigger for a student with special needs, such as a student with
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or Autism. Some students may not be able to
verbally express that the length of the trip home or to school to, is stressful for them. Another tip
which can shift the balance of influence during the commute would be to identify what distracts or
disturbs each student, especially students who cannot speak. They may give you clues by
responding the way a baby would by making sounds, and/or body movements such as clapping,
reaching out, hitting, or biting. Seating and identification of triggers can tip the balance in the
favor of a safe and peaceful trip.

Sociocultural Theory in Early Childhood Development Essay
Sociocultural is defined as relating to, or involving a combination of social (relating to human
society) and cultural (taste in art and manners that are favored by a social group) factors.
(Socialcultural , 2010) You might ask why we are defining these words. It gives a better
understanding of Vygotsky beliefs that children seek out adults for interaction, beginning at birth,
and that development occurs through these interactions. (Morrison, 2009 sec 14.6) I agree that his
theory is the best process for learning. Many people feel that social interaction and learning begin at
birth, but there have been research conducted that fetus can learn through parental interaction.

Lev Vygotskyconcept is showing or helping children with a task. They are taught everything
through social interaction no matter what it is. They are taught by example, by getting help with
the task and are expected to be able to complete it by themselves. With this concept of learning
every child is able to learn and evolve into completing activities independently and progressively
from what they have learned. It is important that the environment for the child be set with ideas and
task that will allow them too mentally, educationally and physically develop with or without adult
and peer assistant.
Children are taught to mimic things like sounds and action; by mimicking this will help teachers
understand how a child learns and what they know. It is important to know what each child
understand and what they can progress on from previous teachings; by having them explain what
they are doing. Intersubjectivity is another concept of Lev Vegotsky individuals come to a task,
problem, or conversation with their, own subjective ways of making sense of it . (Morrison, 2009
sec 14) This is for the child to verbally discuss their issue, to show that they understand what they
are doing, and that they can talk themselves through a problem. In Early Childhood Development
Today stated that Lev Vygotsky theory did not focus on children with behavioral issues, learning
disabilities and children whose language is other than

Public administrators across the United States of America strive to provide its citizens with

Community Development Block Grant Program that give a positive impact to individuals by
creating jobs and rehabilitating poverty stricken neighborhoods that not only provide a community

The funding was taken from Baltimore s local county highway improvement project. The funding
reallocation creates two major problems for Baltimore. The first problem is that city commuters
use the local highway daily to get to work. Secondly, funding for the Baltimore s rapid bus service
to transport commuters to the city no longer exist and therefore increasing traffic congestion.
Commuters now have to endure increasing traffic congestion because more cars are on as road that
cannot improve because funding was given to another project.
Comparing the financial cost of the interstate with the cost of having to reallocate funding or
stopping programs in an effort to decrease traffic congestion will create a greater economic
downturn if not done in moderation as well as a decrease in confidence in lawmakers. The
lawmakers will feel the decrease in confidence by citizens during elections. Unless the local
government can generate and use other sources of revenue to continue highway improvement, the
decision to remove the city s funding is not practical.
Revenue Sources
Baltimore is no different than any other metropolitan city trying to close the gap between its
resources and meeting the needs of the city. In past years the city s major source of resources came
from state and federal funding to finance projects such as road improvements. Because the
increasing economic stress has begun to diminish the

is a world within itself, it is a language we all understand. Music can change our moods, bring up
emotions, and trigger memories. Although, the changes in rock roll throughout the last sixty years
have been significant, the way music makes us feel continues to be the same. Periodically
throughout the history of music, there are special artists/bands that come along at the perfect time
with the perfect message to making a lasting impact on music and change music in the future. In

The Brown vs. Board of Education ruled segregation in America s public school
unconstitutional. At 19, Elvis released his first single, That s All Right , a cover of an R B song
written and recorded by Arthur Big Boy Crudup who was a 1940s African American Bluesman.
The single was released two months after the Brown vs. Board of Education ruling. The single
integrated black and white cultures showing people that everyone could live side by side
through music. Elvis had a tremendous influence on millions of American s and broke through
these racial barriers (Elvis and the Race, 2016). This was the time of Rosa Parks not giving up
her seat on the bus for a white passenger and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. taking a nonviolent
stand to the civil rights movement. It was also when groups like the Ku Klux Klan and Jim
Crow laws were forming. America was divided and there were protests on both sides. The radio
stations white DJs refused to play African American music. Elvis broke through these barriers by
creating his own style of music. He exposed Americans to music they had never bothered to listen
to before because of the racial divide. Elvis allowed white Americans to accept and appreciate the
black culture (Wallace, 2012). Elvis truly paved the path and opened the door for white Americans
to listen to African American music (Wallace, 2012). He played a significant part in

  • 3. Research Paper On Japanese Cuisine Japanese cuisine is an appetizing art form brought to us by an ancient food culture. Japan s cuisine reflects their traditionally shaped and evolutionary food culture. Normally, food in any other country is just a sustenance for the body, but in Japan there is a deeper meaning. Japanese cuisine is very authentic in terms of the type of food served and the manner of which it is served. The art has been influenced by numerous countries only to perfect their cookingstyle and eating habits. Japan s art in cooking manifested during the Yayoi period (200 B.C. 250 A.D.) when rice was added to the Japanese diet. It is said that Chinese and Korean descent wanderers introduced this crop that will later be known as their signature side around the world. Buddhism influenced Japan and there was a big shift in their daily diet. Around the 7th century Buddhism became the official religion of the country and the eating of meat was prohibited. This new religion declared that they should stop eating meat because it was against a Buddhist precept of taking one s life. In this time period poor people had poor quality of rice in small portions. These people were impacted the most by the meat and other dietary restrictions. Since the introduction of Buddhism Japan had taken their food and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 4. Transformation of Humphrey Van Weyden in Jack Londonв Ђ™s... Transformation of Humphrey Van Weyden in Jack London s The Sea Wolf Jack London s The Sea Wolf is in some ways a philosophical text and a product of its time. The strain it puts on the reader between a social Darwinist and utilitarian perspective against that of a more idealistic one is great. Many times the character of Wolf Larsenis a more consistent articulator of the Darwinian position and seems to always be getting the upper hand argumentatively. However, it is due to a phenomenological outlook on the events presented within The Sea Wolfthat the alternative becomes intelligible. After all, the endeavor to improve is one thing which identifies us as human. The understanding of what constitutes this improvement varies, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thus, since both the protagonist and the antagonist of this story read in order to educate themselves, they both demonstrate a desire toward self betterment. Yet the two character s understanding of what this self betterment is supposed to be is poles apart. Where Wolf s view is purely materialistic and Darwinian, Hump s position is, at least initially, entirely idealistic and metaphysical. And in the outset, each can only see the possibility of their own position, discounting the other s. Hump confesses in his thoughts, how could I explain my idealism to this man? How could I put into speech a something felt, a something like the strains of music heard in sleep, a something that convinced yet transcended utterance? (35). Yet Wolf remains unshaken from beginning to end. I believe that life is a mess ...It is like yeast, a ferment, a thing that moves and may move for a minute, an hour, a year, or a hundred years, but that in the end will cease to move. The big eat the little that they may continue to move, the strong eat the weak that they may retain their strength. The lucky eat the most and move the longest, that is all, (35). This contrast endures throughout the entire novel, and even in the end Wolf utters his last word as BOSH! So, once again, Wolf and Hump hold two entirely different and very singular ... Even with these teachings Americans are finding it hard to do just that. American Capitalism is built off of the concept that anybody can buy property, open a practice/start a business, and profit off of it. One thing that both The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgeraldand The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck teach us is that the system of American capitalismisn t perfect. Both of these books show both sides of capitalism, those who make it and those who don t. • 7. Bear Creek Ecosystem Lab Report Introduction In stream based ecosystems, there is a rather delicate balance between the life found and the relative levels of particular substances in said stream. We use Bioindicators to give us an idea of the health of a particular ecosystem, which are in turn heavily influenced by the contents of the environment. Keeping this in mind our group set out to investigate two streams that are in two completely different areas. This was organized in attempt to get samples from two streams that would have very distinct contents, serving as a control for our overall hypothesis. Being that the bioindicators found in each stream would evidently coincide with the levels of substances such as oxygen, nitrogen, and phosphate to name a few. Organisms... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is difficult to gauge to what extent many of the substances measured by the chem contributed to the bioindicators considering there was little difference between the majority the meausrments. However conditions such as temp and pH which showed significant differences coincide with what we already know of animal ecology and homeostasis. Though we didn t see a large difference between the ion concentrations, the difference was enough to create slight shifts in pH such that the stream as whole would be more basic at Cherry Creek as opposed to Bear Creek which was closer to a neutral pH. Which for most organism is ideal in a habitat allowing them to regulate their own pH without dangers and thus allowing further reproduction. However our overall results do not completely account for the differences in pH we saw due to the lack of measurements of phosphate in the Bear Creek analysis. This would further be exasperated by any mistakes made in the measurements of oxygen and ammonia. It should also be noted that we also had to account for the fact that it was summer and thus much hotter than what we would normally expect; thus if a higher temperature in conjunction with other factors discourages or incourages bioindicators we would have no way knowing since we cannot create a control for the ... Supply Irrigation Water Irrigation Systems Increasing threats of freshwater shortage, reduction in arable land, and more frequent and severe droughts due to climate change has stimulated research into water saving irrigation strategies aiming at producing more crop per drop (Morison et al., 2008). The trend in recent years has been towards conversion of surface irrigationto drip irrigationto improve water use efficiency, plant quality and, crop yield. Drip irrigation systems have increasingly been used to supply irrigation water, fertilizers, and pesticides to a wide range of vegetables, field crops, and fruit trees due to their ability to enable highly localized application of water and nutrients to crops (Kandelous et al., 2011; Selim et al., 2013). Studies also used disturbed soil samples by gravimetric method (Al Mefleh and Abu Zreig, 2013; KUMAR et al., 2015) and point based soil water sensors such as TDR (da Silva et al., 2009; dos Santos et al., 2016) and capacitance probes (FernГЎndez GГЎlvez and Simmonds, 2006) to estimate SWC variations under drip irrigation. Most of these studies have investigated two dimensional (2D) wetting patterns changes while three dimensional (3D) wetting patterns could provide more insights into the changes of wetted radius and depth under drip irrigation. This is due to the fact that spatial variations in soil properties induce spatial variations in water distribution patterns between drippers (Or, 1996) and consequently sensor placements to detect wetted soil volumes around drippers become challenging. Because it requires large number of measurement points distributed vertically and horizontally around an emitter to monitor variations in wetting patterns which is laborious and time consuming and practically infeasible sometimes if point based sensors used. Therefore, it is necessary to explore alternative soil water sensing techniques which could provide spatially dense measurements at small to field scales. These labels cannot act as DNA for one item and therefore neither useful in supply chain management nor for the blue prints information of the product. For addressing these problems, few other techniques have been proposed which includes such as Radio frequency identification tag or RFID, encrypted bar codes (1D and 2D). Bar codes (1D) contain the linear lines of different width arranged parallel in different sequences depending upon the code associated with it. Similarly, 2D barcodes contain rectangles of different dimension arranged in matrix form and, each rectangle denotes a character. Thus, the combination of rectangles arrangement in 2D square matrix makes a unique code for identification. Information related to the product can be uploaded on a central server and coupled with the code given on product barcode. Slovenia and then Croatia were the first to break away, but this caused Serbia to become hostile towards the two nations. Consequently, the war in Croatia led to hundreds of thousands of refugees and also brought back memories of the harsh acts of the Nazis in the 1940s. Water is the most precious resource on the planet, but can also be taken for granted especially in first world countries where it is always available at the faucet. This modern marvel of having clean water so easily accessible is threatened by another modern invention, the application of pesticides. While pesticides have narrowed the gap between actual yield and yield potential in our conventional crops, they are also a source of nontarget poisoning responsible for fish kills, reproductive failures in birds, and human illnesses (Arias Estevez et al, 2007). In fact, only about 0.1% of pesticides actually reach their targeted pest (Pimentel, 1995). Most pesticide ends up in the environment where it is transported or degraded through volatilization, runoff into surface water and groundwater, or taken up by nontarget organisms (van der Werf, 1996). The movement of pesticides into groundwater poses a grave threat to the health of our communities. According to a 1999 USGS survey, around 50% of water samples collected from wells contained at least one pesticide (Arias Estevez et al, 2007). In Ohio, a well testing program started by the Water Quality Laboratory of Heidelberg College found that wells were contaminated most frequently by atrazine and alachlor, albeit at very low levels and in less than 5% of wells (Baker, 1990). Whatever your preferences, when most people read a book, they typically want to read about something relatable. People want to read about people that are like them. The Interlopers and The Machine That Won the War are both short stories full of interesting plot points that keep the readers hooked right until the last word. The Interlopers is about two men hunting each other in the night, until a twist happens. The Machine That Won the War is about three men revealing secrets about how the war was truly won. However, The Interlopers offers a more realistic plot and relatable characters than The Machine that Won the War. In The Interlopers, the short story starts out by taking us to a forest of mixed growth somewhere on the eastern spurs of the Carpathians (Saki, The Interlopers). The winter night is cold and stormy, with the wind blowing wildly and the animals uneasy, there was movement and unrest among the creatures that were wont to sleep through the dark hours (Saki, The Interlopers). The forests are very steep, and the game it kept for hunting was not that great, however the two characters and their family have quarreled over it for years. The nitrate load is above the target load (51,380,095 pounds) of the area, along with total phosphorus (1,541,400 pounds), and E. coli (5,479,370 billion of organisms). Every subwatershed within the Upper Wabash River Watershed is over the target load for E. coli and every subwatershed but one is over the nitrate target load. (Upper Wabash River Watershed Management Plan ~ Phase 2, 2015) 3.2 Agricultural Run off To enhance crop production in the area farmers apply commercial fertilizers, legumes, crop residue, manure, and land applied sludge to their crops. • 18. The Tragedy Of Hamlet In The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark by William Shakespeare, many scholars are known to debate the controversial topics that are present within the play. This includes whether or not Hamlet is pretending to be mad, if an Oedipus complex is present within the play, and if it is the reason for his delay to action. In Hamletthere is evidence that Hamlet is only feigning madness and in reality identifies with Claudius, thereby delaying Claudius death. This is largely in part due to the Oedipus complex that is present within Hamlet. In Hamlet it is debated whether or not Hamlet s madness in the playis real. However, the evidence points to the idea that Hamlet is only pretending to be mad. When Hamlet tells Horatio As I perchance hereafter... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ultimately, the reason for the delay to action in Hamlet is left ambiguous but, one such credible explanation is that the delay is due to the Oedipus complex. Hamlet sees his own sexual desires manifested in Claudius so therefore he is unable to take action and kill the man he identifies with. Sigmund Freud states that, Hamlet is able to do anything except take vengeance on the man who did away with his father and took that father s place with his mother, the man who shows him the repressed wishes of his own childhood realized (41). Hamlet is unable to punish Claudius for killing his father because Hamlet realizes that he himself is literally no better than the sinner whom he is to punish (Freud 41). This idea is confirmed in the last moments of the play when Hamlet s mother dies. Hamlet throughout the play struggles to kill Claudius because he represents Hamlet s childhood wishes, however, only after Gertrude dies is Hamlet s childhood wishes killed along with her. Hamlet is finally able to kill Claudius because Gertrude has now died. Because Gertrude is the object of Hamlet s desire, and she has now died, Hamlet s desire for his mother has also died (Schaeffer). With nothing left to cause him to identify with Claudius, Hamlet is finally able to complete the task that was given to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 22. The Carbon Cycle And The Earth s Climate The carbon cycle on Earth is essentially how all organisms maintain life on our planet. According to the article The Carbon Cycle and The Earth s Climate, carbon is stored inside our Earth and is released in our atmosphere, plants then combine this element with sunlight and water to go through the process of photosynthesis. Photosynthesis allows plants to form carbohydrates that store energy and this energy is later used to carry out life functions. Photosynthesis is also responsible for other organisms to carry out their life functions as well because the byproduct it produces is oxygen. The carbon cycle is not only accountable for making byproducts that organisms need to live, it is also responsible for maintaining the climate on the planet. CO2 is a greenhouse gas that traps infrared radiation heat in our atmosphere, it maintains temperatures on Earth so that it never gets too cold or too hot for organisms to maintain life (Columbia University). The Carbon Cycle is responsible for maintaining temperatures on our planet but it does need help from living organisms to aid with the process. According to the article What are Phytoplankton, organisms such as Phytoplankton are responsible for the transfer of carbon dioxidefrom our atmosphere to our oceans, Phytoplankton take CO2 from the atmosphere absorb it and either get eaten by other organisms or fall to the ocean floor. Evaluation Of A Risk Corridor For clarification a risk corridor is a formed idea that if insurance companies rake in higher cost than expected the government will reimburse the insurer to a certain percentage. As an example, if an insurer s actual claims in 2014 are at least 3% greater than the claims projected when the insurer set 2014 rates, the government must reimburse the insurer for half of the excess (Radnofsky, 2014). On top of that, if total claims jump 8% the government would be liable for 80% of the excess costs. This is a really risky move because the unhealthy population with insurance could be extremely costly. The risk corridors gave third party payers the re insurance by providing insurance to all parties. These insurers in 2015 needed massive bailouts from the government for substantial losses reaching 2.5 billion. This can become an increasing expense over the years. Most of all the taxpayers will be on the hook for these enormous losses, while funding private shareholder owned insurance companies. The main issue at hand was the Department of Health and Human Services didn t pay the full percentage that was applicable under the risk corridor, which bankrupt some insurance providers. • 39. Catullus Poetry Analysis A less theoretical definition of poetry is, putting the best words in the best possible order. A poet may incorporate the theory as follows. The poet may astutely choose words possibly with a double meaning in order to indirectly convey a message, evoke emotions, or to slander. Then, the poet may unconventionally place such words and phrases perhaps out of expected order for the sake of creating a wordpicture, emphasizing the speaker s feelings, or offering tangibility to the poem. By implementing this idea onto poetic works, the poet will have auspiciously written a superb poem. This theory may be applied to a few of Catullus s poems specifically Carmen 5 , Carmen 8 , and Carmen 85. Catullus s meticulous choice of words and arrangement highlight the central focus of the poem, obliquely criticize traditional Roman law, manipulate the audience s attitude, transmit the speaker s emotions, paint word pictures, and offer symbolic meaning consequently producing a successful poem. For starters, Carmen 5 is an amorous poem Catullus wrote directed at his forbidden lover, Lesbia. Catullus insists they should disregard the rumors of old men, because while the sun is able to return, they only have one life to seize. Therefore, Catullus demands hundreds and thousands of kisses in a jumbled up manner from Lesbia, so their ardent passion cannot ever be cursed by the wicked ones. The strategic placement of the words let us live and let us loveliterally place Lesbia as the central focus of the work. In the original Latin text, the opening line reads as, vivamus, mea Lesbia, atque amemus, which the words vivamus and amemus enclose Lesbia and thus point to her as the center of the poet s life and love (Fredricksmeyer 436). It suggests Catullus viewed Lesbia as much more than an erotic, love poem topic. Evidently, the poem is enhanced through Catullus placing the best words in the best possible order, because the main subject of the poem is intentionally given significant importance. Furthermore, in Carmen 5 Catullus chose the best words, when describing the people, whose comments he and Lesbia should not be concerned about as sour old men (Gregory, L. 2). European Colonization and African American Development European Colonization and African American Development During the period of 1885 1905, as Africa was divided into 55 small states, an era of economic tug of war between the British and the French known as The Scramble for Africa became the target of prosperity. While campaigned to end slavery and all affiliations with the slave trade, this method of colonial rule not only effectively controlled various territories, but also altered the lives of indigenous African people. Through tactics of indirect and direct control performed by the Europeans, land was seized in the midst of turmoil between the opposing parties as imperialism was established in the continent of profitable resources. The thingification of indigenous African people equates to European colonization in a way that inevitably works to the disadvantage of the oppressor s victims. Despite the difference between French and British colonialism, the impact on blacks remained the same, and is clearly displayed through the gradual assimilation with each foreign group. Their actions reinforced slavery in a new light of mental captivity, which was the very thing that Europeans sought out to destroy as redeemers of the new land. Africans were not allowed to maintain any connection to their original cultures at all, and were even placed in positions as elite French leaders to represent examples of what they could one day potentially become. Black slavery, ingrained racial prejudice against blacks, and, after its partition by European powers, the necessity to rid Africa of colonial rule and exploitation, are all factors of what eventually provided for the stimulus to the pan African idea and action (Lynch, 32). This new wave of liberation is what motivated blacks to make a change for the better, and sought to unite separated Africans in the struggle for freedom. Africa for Africans, as this philosophy came to be known, called for an end to decolonization, and a start to the emergence of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When dealing with students that have special need challenges some tips to shift the balance of influence that affect their behavior or mood can include length of time on the bus or van, distractions, and/or disturbances. The length of the trip on the bus can be a stress trigger for a student with special needs, such as a student with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or Autism. It gives a better understanding of Vygotsky beliefs that children seek out adults for interaction, beginning at birth, and that development occurs through these interactions. (Morrison, 2009 sec 14.6) I agree that his theory is the best process for learning. They are taught everything through social interaction no matter what it is. They are taught by example, by getting help with the task and are expected to be able to complete it by themselves. With this concept of learning every child is able to learn and evolve into completing activities independently and progressively from what they have learned. It is important that the environment for the child be set with ideas and task that will allow them too mentally, educationally and physically develop with or without adult and peer assistant. Children are taught to mimic things like sounds and action; by mimicking this will help teachers understand how a child learns and what they know. It is important to know what each child understand and what they can progress on from previous teachings; by having them explain what they are doing. Intersubjectivity is another concept of Lev Vegotsky individuals come to a task, problem, or conversation with their, own subjective ways of making sense of it . (Morrison, 2009 sec 14) This is for the child to verbally discuss their issue, to show that they understand what they are doing, and that they can talk themselves through a problem.
