Motivation
It is some kind of internal drive which
pushes someone to do things in order
to achieve something.
Extrinsic motivation
Comes from the environment; it is a result of
any number of outside factors.
Intrinsic motivation
Comes from the individual (inside).
The Factors are:

students
perceived by
themselves

motivation
and attitude).
The society
we live in
Society has
some
attitudes that
influence the
student
motivation.
People around us
Student’s attitude
will be influenced
by people who are
around and close
them. (Support
and approval)
Curiosity
It is the
initial
motivation.
(not
underestima
te natural
curiosity)
It is represented by
The motivation Angel
It is formed by
Affect
It isrelated to the student’s feelings.
As a result the teacher must be
helpful and respectful with them.
(Rapport)
Achievement
Set an appropriate level of challenge
for the student in order to keep the
initial motivationandinvolve them in
the learning process.
Attitude
It is about the teachers’ confidence.
The teachers must be able to
demonstrate their professional
abilities to teach.
Activities
The activitiesmustbe interactive and
dynamics.The teachersneed totry to
match activitiesinordertoinvolve
the students.Thus,the teachers
knowwhatactivitiesworks.
Agency
To encourage studentstomake
decisionsovertheirlearningprocess
inorder to become more active inthe
classroom.
Teachers should be able to adopt variety ROLES within the
classroom such as
Controller
Theyare incharge of the class“leadingfromthe front”,
tell things and organize drills.
Prompter
Teachers help students in order to push them to think
creatively.It is important to help them sensitively and
encouragingly but with discretion
Participant
The teachers participate in their own right with the
students in the activities.
Resource
Act as a guide forstudents(guidance).If students want
know something, teachers must be able to give
appropriate information.
Tutor
Teachers are combining the roles of prompter and
resource. This role is useful when teachers have small
students’ groups.
Teachers must be able to use different
techniques to improve the students’
knowledge such as
Spirality
The teacher must
organize the contents
according to
complexity.Asa result,
the contents will have
a logical organization.
Scaffolding
The teacher must act
as a prompter in order
to extend and long the
student’s knowledge.
