This document discusses classroom management strategies based on William Glasser's Choice Theory. Choice Theory suggests that behavior is driven by an individual's need to satisfy five basic needs: survival, belonging, power, freedom, and fun. The theory states that teachers should act as managers who build positive relationships with students and provide engaging learning experiences so that students understand working hard in class will benefit them. Coercion through rewards and punishments is minimized, and the focus is instead on quality work through self-evaluation and redoing assignments until mastery is shown.
