When Sarah s aunt told me this story I thought she was being silly. A long time ago Jane had a new
baby, a new house, and no husband. She was lucky when her sister Eloise offered to come stay with
her and help out, until her husband returned from working in Alberta. The sisters had almost finished
unpacking, but Eloise found one small box, labeled for the baby, that sat alone in the dark hallway.

The next morning Eloise sat with her sister, while Jane fed the baby pureed carrots. Kate resembled a
jack o lantern, her face was caked in orange and she was smiling naughtily.

Throughout the movie Ofelia sees creatures from the fairy tales but appears to be the only who sees
them. Additionally, she never once panicked about seeing the creatures, she treated them like normal

I Am A Great Leader
Leaders are everywhere and when I think of great leaders I have had the pleasure of interacting with,
the first ones that come to my mind are my Grandparents, Virgil and June Watts. After my first
thought, my mind floods with many other people who I consider great leaders but my Grandparents
are always the first that I think of as great leaders. My Grandpa taught me about hard work, respect,
the importance of family, and the ability to understand you may not always get along so you have to
learn to compromise sometimes. My Grandma taught me how to love, give to others, cook, and
provide for ourselves and others with what we have available. One of the most important thing my
Grandparents taught me though was, to have a passion and put one hundred percent into it. My
Grandpa with his love of music and entertaining people with playing music and my Grandma with her
love of sewing and making beautiful dresses and quilts.
I spent many nights and days with my Grandparents and often see them as playing the biggest role in
the person I turned out to be. When it comes to personal values and morals, I ve shaped most of mine
from what they have shown me. Although we disagree politically, I learned so much from them about
what it means to be a great leader. They taught me honesty, even when it gets myself in trouble.
Loyalty, is another trait that I learned from my Grandparents, even if it means standing up alone. They
taught me compassion, having the ability to show everyone kindness
