Essay on To Be or Not to Be in the Gange
To Be or Not To Be In The Gang Tyrone walks into Jefferson High School. To him, the world is out to
get him. His folks recently divorced. His dad, the person he absolutely admired and respected, had
cheated on his mom. His mom met someone new and she moved herself and the kids in with him. The
new boyfriend is ok, but he tries too hard to be nice, and Tyrone wants his old family back together. To
make matters even worse, his girlfriend of two years decided she couldn t handle the long distance
relationship. He feels his life has been very spurious. During his 2nd period class, Tyrone bumps into
Wayne, a very muscular, intimidating jock. Watch it, says Wayne, pushing Tyrone out of the way.
Sorry man, Tyrone mutters. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Can I take a rain check? Sure. I have play practice after school tomorrow. How about we meet at the
Shake Barn after that? Play practice? Yea, I have the lead in Oklahoma . I am so excited! I ve wanted
to go into acting since I was a little girl. That s cool. I did the lead in Grease at my old school. It was
kind of fun . Awesome! You should try out for the next production. Maybe I will. Why don t you walk
me to practice and I will introduce you to the teacher. Knowing he is supposed to meet Wayne, he
hesitates. He wants friends, but he thinks Sharon is cute. He decides to walk her to practice. Sharon
heads into the cast room. Tyrone looks around and sees all the costumes and remembers the fun time
he had doing Grease . Sharon finds Mr. Brown and introduces them. Tyrone says he will try out for the
next production, but he really needed to get going. He looks around for Sharon. He finally spots her
over by the chiffarobe putting on a corset. She waves at him and he leaves. Tyrone heads to the Pizza
Shack. Wayne and his buddies are already sitting at a table with a huge pizza and a pitcher of pop. The
jukebox is so old the music is very staccato. They are acting in a brash way, but no one seems to be
doing anything about it. Wayne sees him, and waves him over. Guys, this is Tyrone. He just moved in
and needs some friends. Everyone says hey, and Tyrone asks what s up. Wayne laughs. We are

Equilibrium Of I-Point Object Essay
Equilibrium of à Point Object Background
Aim
Our aim in this experiment is to determine the magnitude of an unknown force by using two known
masses on force table.
Variables
Independent: Magnitude of two known masses
Dependent: Angle between two known masses
Control:
Unknown force
Acceleration of gravity (9.81 m/s2) (Pearson Physics)
Hypothesis
Q, the angle between two known masses is directly proportional with the of two known masses.
Theory
We have already stated in our aim that we are trying to find an unknown mass by using two known
masses. For our force table to stay constant, it has to be at equilibrium. Equilibrium is à statement
where opposing forces are balanced, which means that

Conclusion
Conclusion
Our hypothesis is supported by the calculations we made.
Evaluation
Even though the experiments we did generally supported our hypothesis, as we understood from the
graph, there were points which aren t even close to best fit line. Random errors in this experiment may
cause this aberration such as our point of view. Also, we didn t include the weight of the strings, which
might also affect the accuracy of the calculations.
Improvements
→ We only made 5 trials. We can increase the number of trials to decrease the possibility of random
errors.
→ We could check the flexibility of the strings.

September 26, 2010 Team B Analyzes the Genovese crime family originated from the Morello crime
family of East Harlem in Manhattan during the early years of the 20th century. The Morellos started
arriving in New York from the village of Corleone, Sicily around 1892, and soon became involved in
criminal activities. The family was run by brothers Tony, Nicolo, and Giuseppe Morello, and half

Eventually Genovese s plan worked, and he was made the boss of bosses, which, unfortunately for
him it did not last very long. Several of his underlings turned on him when they were arrested and
began to speak of his heroin smuggling operation. After an investigation into those activities,
Genovese was arrested by federal authorities on drug charges, tried, convicted and sentenced to 15
years in a federal penitentiary. He died in prison in 1969. Luciano was had a vision of creating a
national crime syndicate and to do so he needed to dismiss the bosses that did not care much about
their men. The first two victims of this plan were Giuseppe Joe the boss Masseria and Salvatore

creating a national crime syndicate across the country. Luciano dream succumbed when convicted on

Why Vietnam Invaded Vietnam
To commence, I decided to peruse historical novels associating with the Cambodian Vietnamese
Conflict. The Martin Luther King Jr. library was the only library I could think that held numerous,
historical chronicles. Primarily, I strived to find a specific book called Why Vietnam Invaded
Cambodia: Political Culture and the Causes of War by Stephen J. Morris. By quickly examining the
book on the Internet, this book was perfect for my topic; the title of the book was even a giveaway.
However, the library lost the novel; I looked everywhere on the shelf and came up with nothing. So I
had to improvise to find similar books, I found two novels which would greatly satisfy my research
topic. One was The Rise and Demise of Democratic Kampuchea by Craig ... Show more content on

Reactions from the Cambodians fluctuated negatively; when the invasion was victorious for the
Vietnamese, the Cambodians felt relieved about foreign influence. Also, they believed foreign control
would be quite the benefit for the nation. However, the educated population migrated to Thailand
because they did not want to more exposure to Socialism. Numerous countries felt threatened by the
Vietnamese invasion of Cambodia; Thailand authorized for Khmer Rouge authorities to seek refuge in
their nation. The United States was insecure about the situation as they believed Vietnam strived to
spread Communism with Soviet Union s assistance through their alliance. In 1981, the U.S. Secretary
of State, Alexander Haig, condemned Vietnam and the Soviet Union of using chemical weapons
against Democratic Kampuchea; which violates the 1925 Geneva Accord. However, China expressed
the most vexation; after Vietnam signed a treaty of cooperation with the new Cambodia and Laos,
China began to invade Vietnam. Despite this, China suffered numerous losses and withdrawn the
troops. Within Cambodia, there have been multiple attempts to overthrow the new government.
Politicians, including Son Sann and Khieu Samphan, and King Sihanouk have planned many
operations to establish domestic authority over Vietnamese control. In terms of the

Being Materialistic Is Just a Waste of Time.
People now are more concerned with making more money and what money can buy. The more money
they have, the greater they think of themselves. Is money really important? Does money guarantee you
success and happiness in life? I do not think so. People who are materialistic are the kind of people
who do not see much in life. They only see life as a medium for them to make more money and be
happy. To me, being materialistic is a waste of time, not to mention a waste of effort in making so
much money and spent it on goods. I also think that by being materialistic you are defined yourself
indirectly and it sets a boundary in your life. Why do I say that being materialistic is a waste of time?

Money And Money In Geoffrey Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales
Last year alone Americans spent 70.15 billion dollars on lottery tickets. This exemplifies people s
desire for money and all the luxurious factors that coincide with wealth. For example, in the poem,
The Canterbury Tales, written by Geoffrey Chaucer, a major theme of money and greed is discussed in
the Pardoner s Tale. The story shared by the Pardoner involves three drunken and greedy men who go
on a hunt for death, but in the process they encounter gold sprawled out beneath a tree. Each
individual devises a plan so they could gain the most money, however when all their plans occur it
leads to all three of the men dying due their abundance of greed. Overall, this story can teach people in
our current society that people s desire for wealth and money never comes without a serious cost.
Since the beginning of time the drive to acquire wealth was always a prominent thought in people s
mind. People believe that with money comes happiness and power. However, in today s world and in
the story told by the Pardoner in Canterbury Tales many instances prove that theory to be wrong. For
example, the Pardoner a man of pure acquisitiveness completes his job of preaching about avarice for
the sole purpose of gaining money from the people he preaches too. As stated in the following line, the
Pardoner values wealth immensely and believes it will provide him with everything he needs in life,
The curse of avarice and cupidity Is all my sermon, for it frees the pelf. Out come the pence,

Live Theater Research Paper
Live theater provides an experience that not even television or movies can portray. It reveals the true
face of the actors and not someone hiding behind a screen. And there are some emotions that can only
be achieved through seeing a show being performed live. My mom gives this quote, Live theater is a
shared experience. Interacting with the other patrons is part of the fun. In some cities there are areas
that are geared entirely towards live theater. When you are at a show you are part of a collective with a
common interest. Before, during and after is spent in discussion of the show. Movie theaters, while in
most communities, do not encourage interaction. There are few social events that occur around
attending a movie. She regularly goes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Just take the Broadway show, Cats, which is one of the longest running Broadway shows to date.
Some may not know this but they made a movie on Cats and it did terrible. Rotten Tomatoes, a
renown critic site, only rated it as 20%. But just take Shakespeare s plays which still are performed
today even though they were made centuries ago. Plays will still be continued to be remade and
replayed over and over again until people finally get bored. Movies however can be played but it can t
be remade with new actors or with a twist. Just take the reboot of Ghostbusters with a female cast and
many people were disappointed at even the idea of a reboot. This image represents that amount of
people who go watch a play despite being outside in the open and exposed to the elements and far
from the stage. And they still continue to go and watch wonderful plays performed for their viewing
pleasure. And they all are enthralled by the wonderful show being performed for them. In conclusion,
live theater is an experience all on its own. It doesn t matter if you are in a theater at a school or in a
large open theater like the Muny, it is truly a wonderful experience. You get to enjoy with friends and
others and you are always amazed that they can do so much without computer generated effects or

Sir Tim Berners Lee is the computer scientist who created what people know as the World Wide Web.
After graduating from Oxford University, Berners Lee became a software engineer at CERN, the
European Organization for Nuclear Research, near Geneva, Switzerland. Here, Berners Lee noticed
that scientists were having trouble sharing information. Berners Lee once stated, In those days, there
was different information on different computers, but you had to log on to different computers to get
at it. Also sometimes you had to learn a different program on each computer. Often it was just easier to

Deer Season Should Be Longer
Do you think Deer season should be longer? Where the deer are overpopulated there should be a
longer season. Anyone should be able to shoot deer if they are destroying your property. The deer
population has outgrown any other animal population.
One problem about having a longer season is that if we have too many long season hunters then the
deer might go extinct. Another problem would be that the deer would bed down and not move as much
as they do now. Longer deer season will cause less people to spotlight.
If you ve been hunting for long enough, chances are pretty good that you ve found yourself in an
argument or two about the viability of a year round hunting season. For some hunters, year round
hunting is almost a possibility, whether through the hunting of a wide range of both big and small
game animals or thanks to nationwide and international hunting trips.
However, for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, a yearlong hunting season would also give states an opportunity to create more appropriate
and consistent hunting regulation methods that, when employed for 12 months at a time rather than
one or two, could actually stand to help create more balanced deer populations rather than destroy the
animals and their chances of survival. This one probably goes along with the more regulation point
above, but it bears repeating due to the level of hunting related accidents and injuries that still result in
so many tragedies every year. A yearlong hunting season, as well as the extra regulation it would
bring, would force hunters to be more vigilant with following safety measures.
When you have 10 or 11 months off from hunting, it s easy to let safe practices slip to the back of your
mind. If we were all hunting all of the time, safety rules would have a better chance to take firm root
and could also be more easily

Our Group Organized A Science Event
THE EVENT: Our group organized a science event titled Nap15 , a word play on the mathematical
notation of power . Our objective was to dispel and debunk the myth that any duration of a powernap
is beneficial for increasing productivity and alertness. Instead, we sought to establish a key message of
a fifteen minute optimal powernap time, which yielded recuperative effects without any detrimental
side effects (Hayashi, Motoyoshi, Hori, 2005).Our target audience was current university students at
the University of Western Australia (UWA) who are about to sit for the end of semester examinations.
I, together with a few other classmates, was involved in planning and brainstorming ideas during the
pre event stage. We were in charge of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We also wanted to exude an informal, cosy ambiance at our booth. Hence we came up with the idea of
bringing cushions, pillows and inflatable mattresses for visitors to play with and sit on, complete with
background music. Having interactive activities has been shown to increase satisfaction in participants
(Bultitude Sardo, 2012). Atmosphere plays an important role in marketing, and a cosy ambience helps
to make people feel at ease and more receptive (Kotler, 1973).
On the actual day of the event, I was part of the Advertising and Recruiting Team, where were dressed
up in pyjamas and approached passers by to answer a short question and visit our booth to try our
crossword puzzle challenge and find out more about power napping. I managed to bring in about 20
people to our booth.
EFFECTIVE SCIENCE COMMUNICATION:
Effective science communication is essential because it allows scientists to communicate important
knowledge and beneficial findings in a clear, easily understood way to the masses (Burns, O Connor,
Stocklmayer, 2003). When scientists are able to translate technical jargon into plain language for non
experts, they are able to dispel myths incorrect beliefs more effectively and convincingly. This would
increase erudition and quality of life in society as a whole, as people are able to make sound, informed
decisions. (Aguinis, Pierce, Bosco, Dalton, Dalton, 2011)

Review Of The Interlopers
Katelyn Lindsay Mr. Titherley World Literature Honors Period Five 25 September 2017 First Draft of
Interlopers
Blinded by Beliefs Saki, in The Interlopers, says that because our family plays an important role in
who we are, we choose to see only evil in our enemies for the sake of our kin, our blood, until the
threat of death opens us to more options. We choose to imitate certain individuals whose beliefs we
associate with more than others. More likely than not, the individuals we choose to imitate are our
close relatives; they often have a bigger impact on our mentality than someone merely acquainted with
us. Because we are raised with them frequently present in our lives, we tend to inherit the same

The beliefs that we adopt, excluding those crafted with a significant purpose in mind, limit our
perspective and blinds us from seeing other possibilities. Once we adopt a vision or belief, whether it
be about a person or event, we tend to refrain from all other perspectives that have the power to
contradict our own. Ulrich and Georg were brought into the feud as enemies at a young age. Even as
boys they had thirsted for one another s blood, and this disposition stuck with them for as men each
prayed that misfortune might fall on the other, (6). Their families view of each other, being such a
prevalent part of their childhood, had influenced them to show the same hatred as well. Instead of
outgrowing the childish behavior they developed by watching their families quarrel, the men continue
to see themselves as enemies, even developing a stronger dislike for them. While searching the strip of
forest for Georg, Ulrich finds himself face to face with the man he sought, and now they stand, glaring
at one another for a long silent moment until they are pinned underneath a fallen beech tree (7). The
men physically see each other, glare at each other, but neither is given time to speak. Their long silent
moment interrupted by a chaotic act of nature leaves Georg blinded with the blood which trickled

Some recommendations would include reconsidering pay for performance for company executives.
Typically these type of incentives can foster a climate of unethical practices as employees tend to look

company that was directly responsible for the known chemicals that were found to have contaminated

This is slammed against the stage by John Flansburgh (or in the early 90 s, a fan from the audience) to

The Swimmer John Cheever
In John Cheever s short story, The Swimmer he conveys the transformation of the character through
the use of setting. The story begins in the suburbs of Neddy Merill s neighborhood. After a night of
partying and drinking, Neddy the main character seems optimistic, he has a perfect family, a high
social status, and not many problems going on in his life. He feels young and energetic therefore
decides to swim across town through backyard neighborhood pools. However, his journey becomes
less fun as the day grow goes on. The water becomes dirty, uninviting and Neddy becomes tired. The
times when Neddy is in and out of the pool also represents the emotions he is going through. For
example, when Neddy is not swimming, he tends to depressed ... Show more content on

One way that Cheever did an excellent job was the way he never mentioned what time of day it was.
For example, the first time Neddy almost headed home Cheever says, ...he wondered what time it had
gotten to be. Four? Five? Or when he was trying to remember when he last saw the Welchers, he
thinks to himself it seemed only a week or so ago. We can see here that it also seems as if Neddy is
getting older because words such as lame and ached show Neddy s change from his prior state to a
weaker one. This confusion of time, was clever in that he showed the reader that Neddy was losing

The Contributions Of Freud And The Case Of Sigmund Freud
Sigmund Freud, the father of psychoanalysis, is predominantly recognized as one of the most
influential and authoritative thinkers of the twentieth century. Freud gave a broad perspective on
things involving dreams, religion, and cultural artifacts while still focusing on different states of the
mind, such as unconsciousness. Freud also relied on a local sexual repression issue to create theories
about human behavior. His theories and ideas of psychoanalysis still have a strong impact on
psychology and early childhood education today. Freud s most important claim is that with
psychoanalysis he had invented a new science of the mind, however, remains the subject of copious
critical debate and controversy. Sigmund Freud was born ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Freud believed that people could be cured by making conscious their unconscious thoughts and
motivations, which will allow one to gain insight. The aim of psychoanalysis therapy is to release
repressed emotions and experiences. For example, making the unconscious conscious. Freud had a
massive impact on the way people viewed mental illnesses during the First World War. During this
time, many psychoanalysts were drafted into war efforts, as physicians or as psychiatrists, due to the
rise in war neuroses. Many psychiatrists at the time believed that when soldiers showed symptoms of
constant nervousness, nightmares, and traumatic memories of war experiences, they were merely
cowards trying to escape combat. During the First World War, this perception started to change and
people began to think that these symptoms were signs of real psychiatric problems. Shortly after,
Freud created a model of the mind called the Psychic

Descriptive Essay About Identity
Nothing in a Name Molly, dinner time! my mother yells in a sing songy voice from the first floor. My
father calls the waitress over, Excuse me, Molly he states, trying to get her attention. The doorbell
rings, and I answer it, Hi, I m Molly says the cheerful little girl scout standing at my doorstep. Names
are universal identifers; they shed no light about one s personality. They are labels, they fail to display
our identity because identity is a unique part of what makes you, you. Names are a terrible way to
understand someone s identity because names are regularly replicated. In my sixth grade class, there
were three Mollys. We all had different backgrounds, different religious affiliations, and different
personalities. If our names displayed who we are, wouldn t our identities all be the same? Instead of
staring at names and trying to understand their meaning, one should focus on a person s personality,
for personality depicts our identity. In fact, I have learned from experience to not infer one s identity
based on their name. For instance, in middle school, I was mutual friends with a girl named Kassidy.
One Tuesday afternoon, my friend, Katy told me that Kassidy was going to sit with us at lunch that
day. I shrugged my shoulders and replied with a casual okay . Before Kassidy walked in, I had a
whole image of her in my mind: blonde hair, cute pastel colored clothes, and religious, all stereotypes
that I thought a person with an innocent name like Kassidy

Functional Movement Analysis Essay
Intro: This movement analysis project examines the free throw of a male college basketball player.
The foul shot was broken up into four segments of movement which can be listed in order as the wind
up, the set, the shot, and the follow through. We also examined the athlete s
Functional Movement Screen (FMS), highlighting where the athlete excelled and where he had
deficits. The FMS findings were applied to the skills needed to compete in basketball at the collegiate
level. Lastly, we analyzed the arthrokinematics and osteokinematics of the joints during these
movements, the angles of those joints, as well as the muscles involved during the movements.
Description: To begin the study, our group was given an athlete. First, our athlete was asked to

Technique. The video captured the full movement in two lines of sight.
Using the app, the motion was broken into segments, paused and a still shot was taken. A still shot was

brought from waist level to just anterior to the head. Next was force producing movement where the
ball was positioned slightly inferior to its previous position to where max power could be produced.
Then critical instant , where the ball is pushed with great force (up until ball leaves fingertips), Lastly,
follow through where the ball leaves the fingertips and the hand continues through its motion. Angles

America Has Too Much Gun Control Essay
When a person hears the word gun, he or she usually associates the purposes and uses of a gun with
crime related issues and plots of terrorism because of modern culture. They are used for that purpose
by some people, but those people do not represent all aspects of the relationship of firearms to society.
In the United States, many laws have been passed in order to regulate the use of guns by certain
individuals, along with the establishment of associations that specialize in the usage and handling of
firearms. With the regulation of firearms passed by the government, guns has become an integral part
of modern society, attributing atrocities such as homicide with them, but also providing a portable

Under the United States Constitution, Article V, Amendment II, all people have the right to bear arms,
allowing them to own a gun and use it, but the government believes some types of guns, such as
automatic rifles, should not be accessible to people, violating the Constitution ( Gun Control ). On
February 28, 1994, the Brady Bill was passed by congress to add more conditions on firearms by
establishing a five day waiting period to people purchasing a handgun in order to give enough time for
a licensed dealer to conduct a background check on the customer (Agresti). Not only do customers
have to wait additional days in order to receive their handguns for protection, but they are evaluated
by a stranger to see if they are competent enough to do as much as even own a gun. Associations such
as the National Rifle Association (NRA) have been established in order to comply with government
concerns of firearms by creating licenses for gun owners and teaching proper use of firearms. As of

Western Views On Human Nature
Eastern Human Nature In our quest for wisdom, the question of human nature is still up to debate.
Many philosophers ranging from Socrates to Buddha has questioned the nature of human life and of
our existence. But these philosophers do not share the same beliefs about our nature. Their beliefs are
as different as their place of origin. Socrates own philosophy may not be the same as an eastern
philosopher such as the Buddha. In western philosophy there is often a focus on the individual in the
case of human nature. In eastern philosophy there are various interpretations of the idea of human
nature and our existence.
In buddhism the goal is to reach Nibbana, enlightenment. TO reach enlightenment one would,
according to Buddhist belief, is to get rid of beliefs that stem from ourselves and reality. The Four
Noble Truths represents the realities of nature that cannot be denied. The first truth is that life is
suffering. Meaning that to live is to suffer, it is not to say that the entirety of life is to suffer, but that
suffering is a part of life. The second truth is the desire for what is liable to birth, impurity, decay, and
death. All examples of suffering as a part of the normal course of life. The third truth is that the
elimination of the desire, as told by the second truth, eliminates suffering. Simply saying that by
removing these desires one also removes the origin of suffering. The fourth noble truth is that to
eliminate the desire, one must follow the Eightfold

Nucleus And Other Organelles Research Paper
Nucleus which is an organelle is found eukaryotic cells. The nucleus is the control point of the cell
which helps control movement, eating, reproduction and also contains genetic material. The nucleus
and the other organelles are surrounded by the nuclear envelope; it is similar to the cell membrane.
The nucleus contains something called chromatin which is made of RNA, DNA and nuclear proteins.
DNA contains genetic material and also instructions to how to make our body work properly. DNA is
tied up by chromosomes. As the DNA cannot travel outside the nucleus to give instructions, it makes a
smaller copy of it self which is known as RNA. The RNA which does travel from the nucleus then
gets read by the ribosomes, which then proceeds on to make proteins. The main function of the
nucleus is to control gene expression and to help the replication of DNA which takes place during the
cell cycle.

cells may not contain ER for example our red blood cells. Cells found in our liver contain cells with a
large structural ER. There are 2 different types of ER called smooth ER and rough ER. Although they
have the same types of membrane they are both shaped very differently. The smooth and rough ER is
made of a double membrane which forms s a sac known as cisternae. When the protein molecules are

The Important Aspects Of The Catholic Church
Elizabeth Stevinson
110 C
Catholicism is a world renowned faith and has expanded throughout history to become one of the
largest faiths known today. Two of the important aspects of the Catholic Church are the worship rituals
and the texts of the Sacred Scriptures. The worship rituals are important within the Catholic church,
because many rituals are used to Increase faith and to advance oneself to a higher state of spiritual
perfection. (Why The Rituals)
The sacraments are designed to build up the body of Christ and to worship God. It is also another way
to nourish and further strengthen our relationship with Christ as our lives progresses. (Sacraments of
the Catholic Church.)
Norton Herbst states in his article The term catholic comes from the Greek word katholikē which
means according to the whole or universal. The difference between (Protestantism and Catholicism).
The term was designated for the most accepted form of faith passed down from the first followers of
Christ. The worship rituals in the Catholic Church and the importance of the Scriptures make
Catholicism unique and help create something that has never been known.
The worship rituals in the Catholic Church include, mass, baptism, confession, anointing of the sick,
confirmation and Eucharist. The word mass is described as the source and summit of Christian life.
(The Eucharist: The source and summit of the Christian).
For centuries the Mass was celebrated almost all in Latin and was only based on

I would describe myself as someone with a deep understanding of self, someone who can recognize
and yield meaning from all of the life s experiences, both the good and the bad. Viktor Frankl said, if
there is a meaning in life at all, then there must be a meaning in suffering. From my experiences of
personal and family tragedies, I know that suffering is part of life and is unavoidable, it is as certain as
death and completes our journey here on earth; however, we should not let this suffering go to waste

Individualized Educational Programs Should Be Available...
Individualized Educational Program Equal education should be available to all children without any
exclusion or segregation based on mental or physical disability (Woolfolk, A.E., Winne, P.H., Perry,
N.E, 2010). Teaching should, therefore, be adjusted to meet each student s learning styles and needs as
much as possible as each child is unique in the way that they learn. A teacher should get to know a
child s personality as well as their strengths, skills and weaknesses and use information from previous
teachers and parents, as well, in order to get a better understanding of how that child learns best.
Teachers must, therefore, always be prepared to encounter students different abilities and learning
styles. Thus, instructors must set different expectations and goals for each student according to their
abilities and modify the curriculum if needed. Additionally, educational resources should always be
accessible to students in order for them to excel to their full capacity and to teachers in order to help
them achieve this success. An IEP, or individualized educational program, is a type of written
statement which is tailored specifically to help students with diverse learning needs (Woolfolk et al.,
2010). IEP s are designed to help students who are gifted, students with learning disabilities, students
with hyperactivity and attention disorders, students with language and communication disorders,

Major Themes In The Fifth Wave By Rick Yancey
The Fifth Wave Theme Essay
The author of the The 5th Wave, Rick Yancey, had several prominent themes. Three were most vital;
first, war cannot change who a person really is at their core, second, people are defined by the choices
they make, and third, family is worth living for. These are the best and most important motifs of The
5th Wave. The first theme, war cannot change who a person really is at their core, recurs during
several incidences which reinstates the significance. For example, Ben tries to make Ringer smile
despite being in the midst of the end of the world. When Cassie and Sammy reunite, he goes back to
his five year old self despite his being in boot camp for months prior, and lastly, Cassie and Evan flirt

hand sliding across my neck... Despite Cassie being shot in the leg by an unknown shooter, aliens
trying to take over the Earth, her brother being taken, and her family being dead, she is still a teenage
girl who enjoys male interaction.
An additional theme heavily shown throughout the book is people are defined by the choices they
make . Ben left his little sister, Sissy, to die, even though he could have made an effort to save her;
because he left her, he now vows not to run from danger or those things which scare him.
Furthermore, Cassie promises Sammy that she will find him and, because she makes that promise, she
will stop at nothing to be with him again.
At the beginning of the arrival, Ben and his family stayed at their house. One night, there are gunshots
and screams heard coming from their neighbors house; Ben s mother demands them to blow out the
candles which lit the rooms and his father told Ben that If anything happens to me, take care of your

Marfan Syndrome Pros And Cons
Marfan syndrome (MFS) is an autosomal dominant disease of the connective tissue, affecting mostly
the skeletal, ocular and cardiovascular systems, caused by mutations in the FBN1 gene. (Fernandes et
al 2016) It was first described just about 100 years ago and was one of the first conditions classified as
a heritable disorder of the connective tissue. MFS lies at one end of a phenotypic spectrum, with
people in the general population who have one or another of the features of MFS at the other end, and
those with a variety of other conditions in between. (Pyeritz 2000) One in four cases of MFS occur
through due to a random mutation the rest are inherited. (Lima et al 2010) Marfan syndrome affects
anywhere from 1 2/10,000 individuals and has a large amount of variation in its symptoms and
severity. The incredible variability of Marfan syndrome and the lack of identifiable phenotype
genotype correlations point to the occurrence of modifier genes. (Fernandes et al 2016) According to
Groth et al. the prevalence of MFS could increase because during their 38 year study they saw a clear
rise in prevalence. The age of diagnosis for MFS can range throughout an entire lifetime however the

How Technology Is Affecting Families
October 13, 2015 my group class and I went to Galleria to observe the people. After watching several
families I came to the conclusion that technology is affecting families, during the observation families
were more on their cell phones stead of having a conversation with their families. The family look as
if they were stranger. They look with a very serious look. They did not take the time to have a
conversation. One of the kid was in his phone most of the time when he was with his family. I was
surprise because the parents did not said anything not even the parents took time to ask or said
anything. The table was in silent they just were looking around. Is very hard to understand that the
family that I observe did not make no connection. It was not the only family that didn t not have not
communication there was few more. My mother is a very old school when we are with the family she
doesn t want us in the phones or computers she said that family time is family time. I think that my
mom is right because most of the time we work and go to school. Most of the family don t have the
time to have a conversation with their families for the same reason because everyone is busy with

on the true story in 1971 of African American coach Herman Boone. Set in the time during

In Remember the Titans we witness Coach Boone fighting for civil rights, signifying the image of an
outsider integrating into a foreign white team as their coach. Director Boaz Yakin, uses techniques to
strengthen Coach Boone s character where the initial hate and disrespect towards him succours the
development of a meaningful arc. The disrespect and aggression is employed when a brick is thrown
through his house window, threatening him with the derogatory coloured comments calling him Coach
Coon . The pressure of quitting was not felt and heroically he encompasses the journey with Yakin
emphasising Boones evocative discipline and determination forcing integration amongst the

pushing equality for the players in a determined strike to stop racial abuse for good. His actions
initiate the forced building of friendship and acceptance when he forces both races to get to know and

the troops together to support their team mate during a sad time. Instinctively, the implicit segregation

Analysis Of Alfonso Cuaron s Children Of Men
STATEMENT This essay analyses how mise en scene informs both what is seen and how we are

film is set in England in 2027 and humanity has become infertile. Every other society has collapsed
due to dwindling populations with many migrating to England a former activist, Theo Faron (Clive

use of setting and staging in key scenes that frames the state of affairs in this imaginary society and
the use of omnipresent media in the film and how audience is invited to see it by resembling their own
reality. Using close textual anlysis of Children of Men, combined with an ideological critique of post

Essay About Jose San Martin
About Jose San Martin Jose San Martin was one of the Latin American liberators. He was the leader
of Argentina, Chile, and Peru as they revolted against the Spanish rule in the area. San Martin was a
military ruler. He was born in 1778 and died in 1850. Chile attained its independence in 1818,
Argentina, 1812 and Peru, 1821 (Fernandez 14). Most of his tactics involved boldness and patience
along with military tactics. He lived at a time when most of the people in America who were well
educated were Creoles. In fact, some of them had gone to Europe to further their studies. Despite
being quite significant to the liberation of the Latin Americans, he was not always known historically.
In fact, some people today call him the quiet Liberator because he did not always make himself known
(Mayochi 2012) Specifically, San Martin was a leader in Argentina. Argentina was the first country to
gain independence out of the three countries he led (Verley, 2009). The Spanish rule was still in
modern day Peru and Chile. San Martin and Bolivar met and agreed to liberate the country. How they
come to the agreement is not clear. What is well known is that San Martin gave Bolivar his army for
him to rule. Bolivar, with the help of San Martin s army then brought independence to these countries.
Out of these three countries liberated from Spanish rule, Argentina and Peru ... Show more content on

His life, education, and important relationships have been discussed. He helped the people of South
America recover their land from Spanish rule. However, he was more of a quiet Liberator, perhaps
because he was in exile. He is, therefore, not as recognized as Bolivar. Even so, he is highly revered in
Argentina. A clear indication of the admiration and respect can be seen from his burial and the
monuments erected in his honor. These memorials show his importance to the Argentinean people
especially in Bueno Aires, the surrounding area, and near river

Dea Sea Scrolls Imperfection Essay example
The Dead Sea Scrolls are a series of complete and incomplete scrolls containing biblical literature, as
well as some other writings that have not been identified as parallels to any biblical books. Found in
Qumran, located in the Judean Desert, these scrolls have been a controversial topic in an archeological
sense as well as in a religious aspect. Apparently, the scrolls were copied from other scrolls and then
stored in caves near the place that they are assumed to have been written. There s been a lot of
speculation as to the true origin of the scrolls, but common opinion has it that they were copied at
Qumran, a settlement near the site that they were found, and then were stored in nearby caves
surrounding the settlement.

Not to mention the beloved machine known as the Xerox that creates instant, photographed duplicates
of virtually anything on paper. Even when an author is writing a novel, they are afforded the
opportunity to use a word processor in which they can input their ideas directly into a machine that is
capable of checking their spelling and grammar within a few seconds of the command. And the luxury
of having a button that instantly gives synonyms for words that they are at a loss for. How much easier
can writing be?! In this time where such lovely machines play such a huge role in our everyday life, it
s so easy to forget that the human race still reigned this planet without their use. Meaning, life went
on. Humans did the same things two thousand years ago that we do now. Events were probably
modified a bit, but the typical things that humans do today had to have been done long ago, without
the comfort of technology as we now know it.
It s a safe bet to say that the chairs that we sit on during a normal day are by far more comfortable than
beds used by the princes of old. The tables from those ancient times were most likely not made with
the same amount of care and perfection as they are today. Tables were made of stone and raw wood.
How hard it must have been to get a tabletop to be flat, without bumps and without the sloping and

Beatles Modern Music
It has been 50 years since The Beatles were featured in the motion picture Help! And the
accompanying soundtrack hit record store shelves. But as popular as the movie and the soundtrack
were at the time of the 1960s release, no one could predict the value of some of the memorabilia
connected to them. A jacket worn during the filming of Help! fetched $46,500 this week in an online
auction conducted by RR Auction entitled Marvels of Modern Music.
The black, double breasted wool jacket is adorned with six black buttons, soft gray pin striping, and
Ringo sewn on the inside.
The buyer is an unnamed top rock n roll collector in Rhode Island, according to a report on MSN.
Ringo s wool jacket isn t the first bit of Beatles memorabilia from Help! To fetch big bucks. Two
jackets worn by George Harrison and Ringo Starr were sold during a 2014 auction conducted by
Omega Auctions in Liverpool. The jackets, worn during the filming of Help! And also featured on the

The Indian Independence Movement
The history of the Indian Independence Movement against the British in the 20th Century was
evidently influenced and motivated by the underlying differences and perceptions of communal
identities. The freedom struggle in essence was also an assertion of the interests and aspirations of the
diverse communities of the Indian subcontinent. The Indian National Congress and the Muslim
League were the two big powers that sought to mobilize public sentiments in the quest for
Independence. While the Muslim League (formed in 1906), stood as a symbol of Islamic nationalism,
the INC on the other hand was seen as pro Hindu (with a strong influence of radical groups like the
Hindu Mahasabha).
Mohammad Ali Jinnah, initially a Congress nationalist, joined the Muslim League in 1913 in order to
align the views of the two communities in their collective struggle for freedom. The result was The
Lucknow Pact which laid down the constitutional framework of seat and power sharing arrangements
for elections to the Provincial Legislative Councils. Muslims were provided with separate electorates
and one third representation in the Central government. Congress that claimed to fight only for secular
goals and considered religion as a private matter of individual granted the separate electorates for
Muslim went against their very own ideologies. This lead to the settlement of differences between the
two parties and immediate goal of both the parties through the pact called for greater autonomy as a

July 26, 2015 OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) Standard Revision and Needlestick Injuries
Did OSHA revision to the Bloodborne Pathogen (BBP) Standard that requires greater use of anti
needlestick technologies result in reductions of BBP incidents among healthcare workers?
The purpose of this paper is intended to provide a review of the above formulated topic and backed up
by research compiled through scholarly peer reviewed literature as well as supportive statistical from
entities such as: the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Institute for
Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), World Health Organization (WHO), and the Occupational
Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Further consideration was given to areas within OSHA
Bloodborne Pathogen Standards that may have contributed to the mitigation of injuries in healthcare
settings as they relate to occupational percutaneous injuries. Scholarly peer reviewed literature and
journals dating from 2002 to 2015 obtained from the University of West Florida library database were
used to validate the findings on the impact of needlestick injuries since the BBP revisions were

The Martin Luther King Jr. library was the only library I could think that held numerous, historical chronicles. Primarily, I strived to find a specific book called Why Vietnam Invaded Cambodia: Political Culture and the Causes of War by Stephen J. Morris. By quickly examining the book on the Internet, this book was perfect for my topic; the title of the book was even a giveaway. Reactions from the Cambodians fluctuated negatively; when the invasion was victorious for the Vietnamese, the Cambodians felt relieved about foreign influence. Also, they believed foreign control would be quite the benefit for the nation. However, the educated population migrated to Thailand because they did not want to more exposure to Socialism. Numerous countries felt threatened by the Vietnamese invasion of Cambodia; Thailand authorized for Khmer Rouge authorities to seek refuge in their nation. The United States was insecure about the situation as they believed Vietnam strived to spread Communism with Soviet Union s assistance through their alliance. In 1981, the U.S. Secretary of State, Alexander Haig, condemned Vietnam and the Soviet Union of using chemical weapons against Democratic Kampuchea; which violates the 1925 Geneva Accord. • 8. Money And Money In Geoffrey Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales Last year alone Americans spent 70.15 billion dollars on lottery tickets. This exemplifies people s desire for money and all the luxurious factors that coincide with wealth. For example, in the poem, The Canterbury Tales, written by Geoffrey Chaucer, a major theme of money and greed is discussed in the Pardoner s Tale. The story shared by the Pardoner involves three drunken and greedy men who go on a hunt for death, but in the process they encounter gold sprawled out beneath a tree. Each individual devises a plan so they could gain the most money, however when all their plans occur it leads to all three of the men dying due their abundance of greed. Overall, this story can teach people in our current society that people s desire for wealth and money never comes without a serious cost. Since the beginning of time the drive to acquire wealth was always a prominent thought in people s mind. People believe that with money comes happiness and power. However, in today s world and in the story told by the Pardoner in Canterbury Tales many instances prove that theory to be wrong. For example, the Pardoner a man of pure acquisitiveness completes his job of preaching about avarice for the sole purpose of gaining money from the people he preaches too. As stated in the following line, the Pardoner values wealth immensely and believes it will provide him with everything he needs in life, The curse of avarice and cupidity Is all my sermon, for it frees the pelf. Individualized Educational Program Equal education should be available to all children without any exclusion or segregation based on mental or physical disability (Woolfolk, A.E., Winne, P.H., Perry, N.E, 2010). Teaching should, therefore, be adjusted to meet each student s learning styles and needs as much as possible as each child is unique in the way that they learn. A teacher should get to know a child s personality as well as their strengths, skills and weaknesses and use information from previous teachers and parents, as well, in order to get a better understanding of how that child learns best. Teachers must, therefore, always be prepared to encounter students different abilities and learning styles. Thus, instructors must set different expectations and goals for each student according to their abilities and modify the curriculum if needed. Additionally, educational resources should always be accessible to students in order for them to excel to their full capacity and to teachers in order to help them achieve this success. • 34. Major Themes In The Fifth Wave By Rick Yancey The Fifth Wave Theme Essay The author of the The 5th Wave, Rick Yancey, had several prominent themes. Three were most vital; first, war cannot change who a person really is at their core, second, people are defined by the choices they make, and third, family is worth living for. These are the best and most important motifs of The 5th Wave. The first theme, war cannot change who a person really is at their core, recurs during several incidences which reinstates the significance. For example, Ben tries to make Ringer smile despite being in the midst of the end of the world. Despite Cassie being shot in the leg by an unknown shooter, aliens trying to take over the Earth, her brother being taken, and her family being dead, she is still a teenage girl who enjoys male interaction. An additional theme heavily shown throughout the book is people are defined by the choices they make . Ben left his little sister, Sissy, to die, even though he could have made an effort to save her; because he left her, he now vows not to run from danger or those things which scare him. Furthermore, Cassie promises Sammy that she will find him and, because she makes that promise, she will stop at nothing to be with him again. At the beginning of the arrival, Ben and his family stayed at their house. One night, there are gunshots and screams heard coming from their neighbors house; Ben s mother demands them to blow out the candles which lit the rooms and his father told Ben that If anything happens to me, take care of your mother and baby sister, (Page 117). Marfan Syndrome Pros And Cons Marfan syndrome (MFS) is an autosomal dominant disease of the connective tissue, affecting mostly the skeletal, ocular and cardiovascular systems, caused by mutations in the FBN1 gene. (Fernandes et al 2016) It was first described just about 100 years ago and was one of the first conditions classified as a heritable disorder of the connective tissue. MFS lies at one end of a phenotypic spectrum, with people in the general population who have one or another of the features of MFS at the other end, and those with a variety of other conditions in between. (Pyeritz 2000) One in four cases of MFS occur through due to a random mutation the rest are inherited. (Lima et al 2010) Marfan syndrome affects anywhere from 1 2/10,000 individuals and has a large amount of variation in its symptoms and severity. The incredible variability of Marfan syndrome and the lack of identifiable phenotype genotype correlations point to the occurrence of modifier genes. (Fernandes et al 2016) According to Groth et al. the prevalence of MFS could increase because during their 38 year study they saw a clear rise in prevalence. Director Boaz Yakin, uses techniques to strengthen Coach Boone s character where the initial hate and disrespect towards him succours the development of a meaningful arc. The disrespect and aggression is employed when a brick is thrown through his house window, threatening him with the derogatory coloured comments calling him Coach Coon . The pressure of quitting was not felt and heroically he encompasses the journey with Yakin emphasising Boones evocative discipline and determination forcing integration amongst the segregated football team. This technique is employed when we witness Coach Boone stepping up, pushing equality for the players in a determined strike to stop racial abuse for good. His actions initiate the forced building of friendship and acceptance when he forces both races to get to know and accept each other at the camp. Yakin heightens the themes of overcoming racism when Boone rallies the troops together to support their team mate during a sad time. Instinctively, the implicit segregation is evoked further bringing unity to the team, Coach Boone emerges as a hero to both the coloured and white community. The Indian Independence Movement The history of the Indian Independence Movement against the British in the 20th Century was evidently influenced and motivated by the underlying differences and perceptions of communal identities. The freedom struggle in essence was also an assertion of the interests and aspirations of the diverse communities of the Indian subcontinent. The Indian National Congress and the Muslim League were the two big powers that sought to mobilize public sentiments in the quest for Independence. While the Muslim League (formed in 1906), stood as a symbol of Islamic nationalism, the INC on the other hand was seen as pro Hindu (with a strong influence of radical groups like the Hindu Mahasabha). Mohammad Ali Jinnah, initially a Congress nationalist, joined the Muslim League in 1913 in order to align the views of the two communities in their collective struggle for freedom. The result was The Lucknow Pact which laid down the constitutional framework of seat and power sharing arrangements for elections to the Provincial Legislative Councils.
