Oil Palm And Palm Oil
Since its establishment in the beginning of twentieth century, oil palm plantation management
has evolved rapidly in terms of efficiency and productivity. Oil palm is a versatile plant that almost
every single part of it proven to be useful (Figure 1). Oil palm produced two types of oil: palm oil
and palm kernel oil. They are both extracted from mesocarp and the seed or kernel (hard shell
mesocarp) by delicate separation at certain phases in palm oilfactory/milling processes (Basiron
2007). The two oils have different uses for different market niches. While palm oil is mainly used
as food material, palm kernel oil is usually used as raw material in oleochemical industry such as
detergents, toiletry, and cosmetics products. Therefore, almost 50% of products that can be found
in the supermarket contains oil palmand its derivative (WWF 2009) Figure 1. The versatility of oil
palm. Apart from the produced oil and its derivatives, oil palm biomass is a valuable commodity.
Taken from IOPRI (2009)
According to Basiron (2007), oil palm produced a significant amount of fibrous products such as
empty fruit bunches and fruit mesocarp fibres, which have been reused in the plantations and in
the mills as soil mulch and material to be burnt in boiler to produce energy, respectively. Further
use of this fibrous biomass will be second generation biofuel which based on fibre conversion into
a liquid fuel.
In plantation practice, oil palm has been used integrated pest management

Clarkson Lumber Case Study
CLARKSON LUMBER CASE STUDY B RADY CLIFFORD DAN HORTON EMIL HYMAS
Y RICH WILKINSON EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Clarkson Lumber Company, owned by Mr.
Keith Clarkson, has been in business for 15 years and currently has 15 employees. Firms who
have worked with Clarkson speak very highly of him, saying that he is conservative and his
operating expenses are low. The company s revenues are projected to continue to grow. Recently,
Clarkson Lumber s accounts payable and notes payable have increased significantly. The company
has not been able to take advantage of trade discounts in recent years because of lack of funds and
because of investments due to the company s growth. While Clarkson Lumber has been increasingly

Even with the growing trade debt, CLC still was comparable to the overall percentages of other
lumber outlets (see Exhibit 3). It is also important to recognize specific ratios related to the
company. The current ratio, which is helpful in understanding asset liquidity or inefficient use
of cash flow, decreased from 2.5 in 1993 to 1.1 in 1995. High profit companies have a current
CLARKSON LUMBER CASE STUDY FINAN 6022 002 PAGE 2 ratio of 2.52. ROE for
Clarkson Lumber remains relatively steady; it increased from 1993 to 1994 but decreased to
17.1% in 1995. This ROE is only slightly lower than the ROE for high profit companies which is
at 22.1%. After reviewing Clarkson Lumber s financial situation, several key issues became
apparent. First, the company is clearly growing at an unsustainable rate. Exhibit 3 (various
statistical ratios), shows the average internal growth rate of the company at 6.06% and the
average sustainable growth rate at 15.78%. However, over the three full years analyzed, the
company has an average growth margin of 24.5% and an average asset growth margin of 33.69%.
This continues in the forecasted 1996 year as the company is projected to increase revenue by
roughly 21.7%. At the company s current level, it cannot continue to support its current growth rate
going forward and will require more debt to finance this growth. Therefore, the company seems to
be overly reliant on short term financing for its operations.

Why Don t We Complain By William F. Buckley Jr
Who Can Complain As human beings we strive for more. The ultimate goal is to live a luxurious
life and accomplish the goals we set out for ourselves. Sometimes a person has to be grateful for
what they have, and just allow faith to run its course. There is a saying in my country, if you
have everything you want in life, and everything goes your way, you will die . What I mean by
this is, once a person as accomplished all their life goals, there is nothing left in life to fight for.
Above all the material wealth one could wish for, the most important thing is respect. In Why
Don t We Complain by William F. Buckley JR, Buckley really found the lack of respect and the
lack of consideration some people have, for him, intolerable. Compared to The Fourth of July by
Audre Lorde, her parents did not contradict any of life s circumstances, because they couldn t
complain. Complaining would have made the matter worse. Looking at these two essays I realize
that complaining about something you feel is unfair is not good, but there are certain complaints
which are more serious than others.
Surprisingly, Why Don t We Complain and The Fourth of July both had problems with the train
system. A person would expect Audre s family to complain more about the trains; instead it was
William who mentions how uncomfortable he felt in that situation. In the Audre essay she mentions
how they could not dine in the diner car, meanwhile William was complaining about how hot the
train was. He was

Hildegard Alleluia Essay
Egeria is perceived as a mysterious worshipper of her time, around the fourth century. Hildegard
of Bingen is believed to be a twelfth century renaissance woman. Due to time and lack of proper
records, details about Egeria are not well known. However, people speculate that she was a
Spanish nun who lived in the fourth century. Hildegard existed between the years 1098 and 1179
and she was a German medieval composer (Newman 273). Notably, the musical works of Hildegard
are set in a liturgical way.
Hildegard s Alleluia is a typical plain chant with the main message being unending praises for
Virgin Mary. It is done by a group of soloists who take a lead in turns as the others give
responses. The piece is monophonic, that is one note per syllable, with minimal movement.
Notably the single melody has no accompaniment (Newman 273). Being a sacred text, it is meant
to be used during worship and mostly during feasts to honor Mary especially in the Roman
Catholic setting. The work of Hildegard generally portrays great knowledge and wisdom in the
field of music. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The noblewoman was called to pilgrimage and she wrote letters to her fellow women at her home
country, Spain (Egeria 18). She gave an account of the place where Jesus had set His foot many
years before. Since the pilgrimage took a long time, Egeria got a chance to witness liturgical year
of the local Christians in Jerusalem. She wrote and sent the liturgical practices to other women in
her church in her homeland. The readings of both the old and New Testament, and the ritual of the
Holy Eucharist were generally fascinating to her. She further informed her people of the teaching of
catechism leading to baptism. Other issues that she wrote about include the holy week and the

Fall Of Roman Empire Essay
Multiple aspects of Rome s economy led to the fall of what was once the most powerful empire in
the world. The Roman Empire was established in 27 BC, and it stretched throughout parts of
Europe, Africa, and Asia. Their economy, which was once the idealistic financial system for
countries worldwide, started to worsen. An empire, especially one as strong and powerful as Rome
s, cannot survive on an unstable economy. As finances, the work force, and diplomatic relations of
Rome started to decline, so did the country. In 476 AD, the Roman Empirecollapsed. The
deterioration of Rome s overall economy led to the fall of what was once known as The Capital of
the World. The finances of Rome played a key part in why the empire collapsed. Rome... Show

Anytime Rome had a problem with another country, the legions would engage in war with them
and usually win. Rome s strong fighting force enabled them to control almost anything they
wanted. However, it was not as easy with the Vandals. The Vandals were a Germanic tribe led by a
man named Gunderic. This tribe, which was highly dangerous, consisted of mainly farmers,
craftsmen, and jewelry makers. The Vandals launched their fleet out to the Mediterranean Sea,
eventually gaining control of many territories that used to belong to Rome, such as North Africa.
Gunderic had his hostile tribe raid coastlines and destroy every ship that crossed its path. The
Vandals stole gold, precious jewels, and more from countries around the world, including ones in
the Roman Empire. The Romans could no longer handle having the Vandals in their territories, so
they engaged in war with them. Surprisingly, the Vandals beat what was once the number one
fighting force in the entire world. In return for winning the war, the Romans gave the Vandals
permission to do whatever they wanted wherever they pleased. This disrupted the trade between
Rome and other countries, for the Vandals had war ships around many important ports and docks.
In addition, the Vandals were constantly raiding and stealing precious items, which made trading
with Rome very risky

Write An Essay On Hemophilia
Hemophilia describes a group of sever congenital coagulation factor deficiencies. It is a lifelong
genetic disorder with a prevalence of 1:10,000 birth and that of the most severe form of the
disease to be approximately 6% per 1,00,000 Population (1). Depending on the activity of
coagulant factor VIII or IX in blood, hemophilia may be labeled as severe ( 1% of normal),
moderate (1 4%) or mild (5 25%) (2) . hemophilia is characterized by recurrent haemarthroses
inside the less muscular padding joints as knees, elbows and ankles joints (3).
Because immature cartilage is even more susceptible to spontaneous bleeding, most of hemophilic
children experience repeated episodes of hemorrhage into their joints (4). Intra articular bleeding of
synovial joints has a direct destructive effect on cartilage which triggers the joint degenerative
process (5) and impact on the total motor development of children and youngsters (6). Patients with
hemophilia often used to have a sedentary lifestyle because of repeated uncontrollable hemarthroses

Intelligence Theory And Its Impact On The Development Of...
Abstract
In attempting to understand intelligence, it can be alleged that someone who is intelligent is able
to make logical reasonable decisions, to assess situations, has read extensively, has good ideas and
is an expert on a particular subject. This then leads to the question, how is intelligence measured?
This article is concerned with discussing the involvement of David Wechsler and his role in the
development of the IQ (Intelligence Quotient) test by describing the history and content of such
tests . This will be done by employing secondary data from journal articles, newspapers and
credible sources via internet.

With age and experience being key factors, there are other concepts of importance which were left
out such as emotions and the impact of the environment. According to Psychological Corporation
(1997), Wechsler viewed intelligence as a multidimensional construct, consisting of both general
aptitude and specific abilities, the latter of which are composed of elements which are
quantitatively different, yet contribute to general ability as a whole. He believed intelligence
should be measured by both verbal and performance tasks, although later in his career, he began to
explore other factors related to intelligence that is the ability to perceive and respond to social,
moral, and aesthetic values.
Kaufman and Lichtenberger (1999) posit that the development of the Wechsler tests was not based
on theory, except for, general intelligence theory. Instead, Wechsler applied his clinical skills and
experience, as well as his extensive statistical training in development of the scales for his
intelligence tests (Kaufman Lichtenberger, 1999; Wechsler, 1997). However, extensive theoretical
perspectives have been applied to the Wechsler scales, the nature of the tests, and the meaning of
their scores. The subtests Wechsler selected for his tests comprises of many different mental
abilities such as abstract reasoning, verbal skills, and processing speed. Wechsler recognized that
his intelligence scales sampled an individual s

English Language Barriers
Even though some immigrants come into the U.S and go into the field of entrepreneurship by
either starting from scratch or having the requirements needed, it s harder for most immigrants
to find employment with well paying jobs because not all have a safe place to go home to and
not every immigrant comes into the U.S breaking the language barrier. Essentially, not every
foreigner that comes to the U.S is prepared to handle the stress that comes with communicating
with one another, that can be experienced as a result of not knowing enough of the language to
speak English and be understood. This problem is presented, creating multiple obstacles for a
newcomer to achieve their goals, either to obtain a good job to support their family or hoping
the money in the United States is better than what they earned in their original country. But
because many lack the skill to communicate with others, people who speak fluently English may
get frustrated with those who can t connect or have difficulty understanding what one is trying
to get across to the other, decreasing the chance of the migratory to be granted a job, able to ace
a job interview, open opportunities to find a home, make friends or even struggle with great
difficulty getting the information they need. Struggling with their fluency will impact
dramatically their self esteem, causing one to feel ashamed and afraid due to them knowing
they don t have the ease of speaking freely their broken English without being laughed at or
criticized. Furthermore, another disadvantage new settlers have is the insufficiency of
transportation. When families come in a hurry to the U.S, it s highly likely almost every
newcomer doesn t have someone or a way to transit from one location to another. Let s say, a
man doesn t have access to a car to drive from his house to the building he works in. Let s not
forget his workplace is on the other side of town. He has a couple options now, to mount up
earlier in the morning to walk to his workplace and still manage to arrive on time, take a bus to
the nearest stop to his work building until he can afford a car or ask a friend to give him a ride
until he has saved enough. Saving enough money will take a couple of months depending

Diet And Paleo Diet
The term diet has many assumptions as to what it means or what it is or which kind is the best.
The term Diet is a balance of energy nutrients and adequate levels of vitamins, minerals, and water
(Mader, 2016). There are so many different types of diets that are made popular by mainstream
media such as the Atkins Diet which is a low carbohydrate diet and the Paleo Diet which mimics a
caveman approach to eating, which means eating only meats and vegetables. Not all the diets that
are being advertised nowadays are perfect or with in nutritional range of what the human body was
designed to consume.
According to Health.gov, my caloric intake should be at least 3000 calories per day consisting of
meats, grains, vegetables, and fruits. My typical diet consists of high protein coming from
meats and whey protein supplements, low carbohydrates consisting of brown rice and quinoa
and low saturated fats which come from olive oil and the meats I eat. I eat around 5 to 6 servings
of vegetables and 3 to 4 pieces of fruit every day. I consume approximately 1/2 a gram of protein
per pound, which is about 190 pounds which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

eat a low calorie diet and I also do the occasional 24 hours fasting to detox and clean body. The
fasting is not meant for everyone but it works for me.

The Role Of Christ s Body And The Relics Of Bodies Essay
Bodies, living and dead, play an immense role in Christianity. The body and the relics of bodies
are actually able to become places where one can have direct contact with God, but only if there are
sanctified (Nachaj, Lecture 12). There are many examples of ways to sanctification including but
not limited to, celibacy, poverty, martyrdom, preaching and spreading the gospel, leading
communities through teachings, and performing miracles (Nachaj, Lecture 12). Many of these
important practices and ways of living are discussed in the following paper including the
importance of JesusChrist (in his living and dead form), martyrs such an Julian of Norwich,
shrines, relics, and monks and nuns. In most cases provided, it is explained how to body is a sin
like possession that Christians are constantly trying to strive away from but this is proved wrong
through way of looking at God s creations.
By far, one of the most prominent bodies to playa role in Christian teaching and practice would
be that of Jesus the Christ s body; in physical and spiritual form. Jesus was seen as being both
human, in the flesh, and God, in the spirit (Nachaj, Lecture 12). For Christians, Jesus is seen in
direct relation of God as either sharing a father son relationship with him, or as actually being the
bodied version of God himself. Christianity s central doctrines the incarnation, the crucifixion, the
resurrection and its essential rituals baptism and communion are all theological assertions in

The Issues Caused By Rapid Urban Growth And Spatial...
1.Introduction:
The issues caused by rapid urban growth and spatial reconstructing in developing countries have
generated considerable concerns and attention from governments and planners (Hamnett Forbes,
2011; Kasarda Parnell, 1993; Park Wheel, 1983; United Nations, 1996, 2000). As one of the
largest cities in Asia and the core political center, urban development in Beijing has proceeded at
an accelerated pace in the last two decades (Robin Visser, 2005). However, it still suffered lots of
ethical dilemmas after 28 years successful city construction on urban planning. This assignment will
pick the eviction issue to analyzed, the final aim is not only to demonstrate the particular
phenomenon in Beijing but also try to find out the reasons of the issue through the comparison with
UK planning system.
2.The forcing demolitions issue in Beijing:
Major cities in developing countries face similar issues related to high development pressure, a
lack of concern for cultural heritage (Kong and Yeoh, 1994 and Steinberg, 1996)
As one of the most historical cities, the Beijing s culture is disappeared as rapid as the economic
booming and reconstructed city growth. Although, the reasons of death of city culture are
complicated, there is little doubt that demolitions have a negative impact on the cultural
conservation especially on heritage preservation. For instance, the area of quadrangle dwellings is
only about 300 square meters in 2010 but was about 1700 square meters

Evaluation of perioperative variations in the levels of inflammatory markers in open reduction and
internal fixation of maxillofacial fractures INTRODUCTION
Infectious complications are commonly encountered following ORIF (Open reduction and internal
fixation) ever since it has been adopted as a treatment modality for maxillofacial fractures. Early
detection of infection can be difficult in the postoperative phase as many signs and symptoms may
actually mimic a SIRS (Systemic inflammatory response syndrome).
There is a wealth of literature supporting the use of various inflammatory markers in diagnosis and
monitoring of treatment of infectious complications in post operative patients[1 4]. Various authors
have studied markers including (Total leucocyte count) TLC, CRP(C reactive protein), AST
(Aspartate Transaminase) and ALT (Alanine Transaminase) in patients with SIRS and sepsis [5].
Behaviour of inflammatory markers and their correlation to infection in the postoperative phase
have been evaluated in various disciplines of surgery. However, similar studies in maxillofacial
surgery have been found to be very scarce. We therefore designed a study to evaluate perioperative
variations in the levels inflammatory markers in Open Reduction and Internal Fixation (ORIF) of
maxillofacial fractures.
An attempt was made to establish an acceptable range of variations in the values of inflammatory
markers in ORIF and co relate these variations to the length of surgery, type of

IDEA was originally enacted by Congress in 1975 and was then called The Education for All

Mainstreaming with regards to education is a term that alludes to the act of instructing understudies
with exceptional needs in standard classes amid particular eras in light of their aptitudes. This
implies custom curriculum is conveyed outside the general classroom, where the understudy with
the unique need leaves the normal classroom to go to littler, and more concentrated instructional

In a full inclusion setting, an understudy with an inability is in the general instruction classroom all

Mental health as Pilgrim (2005) stated is used positively to indicate a state of psychological
wellbeing and negatively to indicate its opposite, or euphemistically to indicate facilities used
by, or imposed upon, people with mental problems (pg 3) although Richards (2002) argued the
concept of sanity and insanity are relative and may vary according to individual and social
perspectives, and illustrated that an acceptable behaviour at an arts festival may not be perceived
similar in a private home and that there are times when every one of us could be considered to be

COMPARE AND CONTRAST OLIVER TWIST
INTRODUCTION
Everyone is aware that books have a richer backstory and more intrigues than a film, and that is
natural due to the length of the book compared to the film. But why does everyone always say
that the book was better than the film, even though, the film is way more focused and fast
paced? Is it really that big of a difference between the book and the film? I will use this compare
and contrast essay to try and explain in which way the Oliver Twist book is both very similar and
very different from the film adaptation of Oliver Twist. I will also try to explain why people
generally think that the book is better than the film.

The differences in this scene are a product of the different timelines, once again. This contrast is not
very significant because the outcome is the same for both the film and the novel.
I would like to end up with saying that I thought the novel was better than the film and I will
explain why I think so and why I think others think likewise. It has to do with the fact that the
more focused the content becomes, the less room is left for the significant side facts so to speak.

Green Barrier to China s Export

As the world economy moves towards globalization, China has become more open to trade with
other countries. Its international trade volume had risen from US$20.6 in 1978 to US$1,422 billion

resource intensive industries, this exports pattern causes a serious environmental problem in China.

development of technology increase people s income and living standards. On the other hand, it has
irreversible negative influence on the natural resources and environment, such as desert
encroachment, deforestation, water shortages, acid rain, biodiversity reduction (Wang amp; Liu,
2007, p.2). Therefore, many regulations and principles point out that international trade must
integrate with the environment and the economic development. To this extent, green barriers have a
rational and positive effect on protecting environment as well as the health of human beings,
animals and plants. Specifically, the reasons are explained as follows.
First, a green barrier has been widely accepted by WTO members in principle as an environmental
measure related to trade. The European Union has applied ISO 14000 to request all imported goods
meet environment standards. Second, green barriers are not only embodied in environmental and
technological effects, but also in aligning world production according to true comparative
advantage. One country will have a positive effect on its neighbor and global environment through
protecting the environment, so green barriers has a positive global externality. Third, strict
environmental regulations can improve efficiency and encourage innovations that improve

Boxing Is Boxing
Boxing is not a dehumanating sport because it is legal to the government, others consider it
poetry in motion and it captures a big part of the history. According to Jonn E. JaGozza, boxing is
the science of mentally multi tasking on several levels simultaneously and displaying skill in an
overt, disciplined and aggressive manner. It is a combat sport in which two people engage in a
contest of strength, speed, reflexes, endurance, and will, by throwing punches usually with gloved
hands against each other. But for others, it is not just only a sport, but also an art that everyone
could express through boxing. There are some evidences why boxing is considered legal, reasons
why others express their feelings through boxing and consider it poetry in motion, and there can be
more added knowledge in our history.
Boxing can prove that it is legal to the government through evidences. There are some
requirements that is needed and required in order to be a boxer. Like the consent, medical
papers, etc. Nobody can take part who is not licensed, and all who wish to box are warned of the
risks of the sport and are given thorough medical examination and tests. It means to say that there
is a process before you go in boxing. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

show it in a motional way. And one of that motional ways is the boxing. Every punch they give,
emotions and feelings are also express. Even in training. If it is just a training, we cannot deny the
fact that we give our full energy to give the best punch that we could give. What more if it is in

God By Simon Blackburn God Analysis
In this text titled GOD by Simon Blackburn, the protagonist agues of beliefs and other things. I
am going to argue that there does not exist a super or godlike being who is all good, all
knowing, all powerful. (40 words) In the text titled The problem of Evil, Blackburn infers that god
is not fit to be worshipped and should not be the origin principle of right and wrong. God
supposedly has perfect morals and is infinite in power allowing him to accomplish anything he
desires. God is an all powerful, all knowing, and an all caring god. However, the idea of God
being all of those things seems to be contradictory. The existence of poverty, lust, envy, and other
vices points to inconsistencies in the idea that God is almighty. The greatness... Show more content

Being all powerful means he can execute and accomplish any given task, meaning God in truth
can fix and change anything and everything for the better. And if God is all knowing, then God
should already know the outcome and destination of every single individual in the world. Lastly,
if God is all caring then he is looking for our best interest. God wants us to live comfortably
among each other. And if we do in truth live comfortably and everyone lives comfortably among
one another then. It would enable a world where wars are extinguished, along with crime and
poverty. But that is not the case. God willingly watch us live our lives miserably in an even
more miserable world. A world where humans, animals are placed in a chain; where our very
own survival is based upon fitness. So in actuality this happens to be false, and if this is false then
god is not genuinely all caring. If god is actually all knowing, all powerful, all caring, he would do
something about this. He has the power to intervene and change things but for reasons unknown
chooses otherwise
Furthermore, god is supposedly full of wisdom, his wisdom is infinite, yet the world lacks
heavily. One way this can be viewed is with nature, how nature scarcely tends to the need of
human and animal happiness. One question that one may ask is can and is god able to prevent
evil? Does he have what it takes; maybe god is impotent (lacking power, strength). According

Importance Of Freedom Of The Press
The freedom of the press was given to all Americans at the very start of building our union and
joining the 13 divided colonies into a more united nation. To get all the thirteen colonies to agree
on the signing of the Constitution a Bill of Rights was promised to the framers. The Bill of
Rights is comprised with ten amendments giving a sense of security to the framers in making
sure that the government won t take all power away from the citizens residing the the country.
The first amendment included in the Bill of Rights states that Congress shall make no law
respecting an establishment or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press. This freedom of
the press given to citizens was something that the framers took serious and gave great importance
to. Since this freedom lets the citizens of America know what goes on behind the scene in the
governments offices. This information is shared with the public making it so that the government
doesn t keep important information from its citizens which would prevent its citizens from
speaking out in the wrongdoing they see led by the government. Thereby not letting the
government sly by and take actions that would deem to be unfair for its people and the rights of
its country. This was the kind of tyranny the framers were concerned about, and the more a person
is concerned about tyranny the freer you want freedom of speech and press to be. One grave
imprortance that freedom of the press gave to its citizens was assurance

As the only company in current industry, ODI faces a problem about future marketing, including

Marketing Analysis
Locations of Regional Offices
According to Exhibit 3, California and South Atlantic are the top two areas that have significant
difference in the number of farms having flock size over 50,000. Since these two locations contain
about 45% of farm with flock size between 50,000 and 99,000 and about 46% of farms with flock
size 100,000 and over, regional offices should be set and more selling effort should be invested. The
specific numbers are as following: CaliforniaSouth AtlanticTotalTotal Number of FarmsPercentage

Flock size 100,000 and over877015734546%

Since four to five regional offices should be set, the other locations should be Middle Atlantic and

How Did Hippies Change The World
Revolutionising not only America but around the world, hippies completely changed the way
we think about the world and altered our perception of societal norms. The word hippie is
derived from the word hipster which in the 1950 s meant hip or up to date. Most believe believe
the only places hippies were influential or successful had to do with drugs or the Vietnam War,
but that s false. Hippies had influence in many areas, including fashion, gay rights, and women s
rights. Hippies have forever changed the fashion world. Huge designers like Coco Chanel and
Emilio Pucci continue to create new works inspired by what the hippies wore. Hippies believed
fashion was all about wearing what you love. The very existence of hippies went against society
norms; they were all about going against what society told them they had to be and was just about
being yourself. However, typical items you could find hippies wearing included homemade beads,
tie dye clothes, headbands, and most women began wearing what men typically wore like jeans,
but also loved flower print items. Before this time, women would never wear jeans, but today it s

Franchisees will also gain their experiences during the franchise period and the process to meet
franchisors requirements.
It is fair to highlight that franchising is a popular and successful mode for foreign market entry,
however there are a few potential drawbacks to this mode of entry. The drawbacks include:
decreased brand quality due to not having full control over franchises, not maximising profit as
franchisor only receives a royalty fee and not the full profit made, and the responsibility of
supporting and training a future competitor.
The franchising strategy is excellent for expansion. This recognition value of the brand helps to
attract possible partners, which want to benefit from a proven business concept, without having the
effort to seek after ones in potential target markets. There are 37,777 Subway restaurants in 100

that subway is the fastest growing franchise system worldwide. In terms of restaurant numbers the
company managed to out compete the major competitors worldwide and there is no end in sight for
this growth. This shows that this kind of entry mode is definitely a way towards a successful and

It wasn t easy at first for Ludi to move to suburbs. The first time she heard a proposal from her

The novel continues to open up people s minds and take us all back in time with its setting and

Sun. This novel revolves around fraternal twins Noah and Jude, who used to be basically
inseparable. Now that they re getting older, they begin to drift apart. The reasons I d save this
novel from the firemen are that it deals with very real things for teenagers and kids such as
puberty, sexuality, deaths in the family, and divorce. It teaches readers that you should never be
afraid of being who you truly are, that if things are tough right now then they will get better with
time, and that your family will almost always be there for you when you re going through
something. It focuses on the mannerisms of teenagers who are just being themselves, who are
only human, and are still trying to find themselves. I feel that this novel would help teens grow
and help find themselves and develop, just like Noah and Jude. The fourth book I d choose to
save from the firemen is the book of Genesis from the Bible. Genesis speaks of beginnings, of the
heavens and the earth, animals, humans, plants, family, society and civilizations, and of sin and
redemption. The list really goes on and on. The book of Genesis is foundational to the

Essay 2
Human Behavior in Perspective Intersex is the general concept used for a variety conditions in
which an individual is born with genitals, or a reproductive system, that does not fit the typical
sexual anatomy of a male or female. The measurement of this norm, is considered as Phall O
Metrics , which decides what is the right size of a male or female s genitalia at birth by a scale of 0
5 centimeters. Although there might be constraints to deciding whether the individual at birth is
a male or female, I believe that surgery to overcome intersexual conditions of a newborn, or even
a premature child, should be decided by the individual once they grow and develop to the
appropriate age, possibly at around of 18 25 years of age. In concern of moral rights, the own

The horror genre is synonymous with images of terror, violence and human carnage; the mere

all that is worst in us. It is morbidity unchained, our most base instincts let free, our nastiest

Horror employs this archetype, which is similar to Freud s description of the battle between the
ego and the id, the struggle between the normal and abnormal. The shadow archetype represents
the inner person we try to keep under control and hidden as much as possible, in contrast to our
outward, everyday personality (Fordham, 1966, p.49). Solomon suggests that the monster in
film and literature is our surrogate, a representative of our baser instincts, our uncontrollable
impulses toward evil (Solomon 795). This theme is evident in Drayton Sawyer s character in
Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. One side of Drayton is the small businessman, enjoying the win of
the local chili cook off; he may be a little abrasive but he is socially adept. Drayton comments No
secret, it s the meat. Don t skimp on the meat. I ve got a real good eye for prime meat. Runs in the
family. Must a missed peppercorn. (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2). His explanation provides a
window into both sides of his personality, the inner cannibal and the exterior businessman. He hides
his dark shadow, the side that supports his cannibalistic family traditions and serves human meat to
unsuspecting customers. By identifying with the monster, be it a werewolf or maniac with a
chainsaw, the viewer learns to reconcile the dichotomous personality within each of us; the

How Does Shakespeare Use Metaphors In Romeo And Juliet
Language can change the way we read a passage. Authors write in a way that the reader can feel
a certain way. If authors didn t write their books like this reading would be boring. In Romeo and
Juliet Shakespeare wrote so that you could feel the love between them. In John Green s The
fault in our stars he uses metaphors. Martin Luther King, jr` a strong persuasive voice, he could
use this to make his speeches even stronger than they already were. Romeo and Juliet is a drama
about a boy and a girl different families who fall in love with each other. Shakespeare uses the
power of his love to show how strong their love is for each other. In scene 5, act 3 Juliet wakes

He does this Because if you just read it you won t get anything from it. Some things in this book
you really have to think about and look at it s other meaning. For example, on page nine teen
Gus has the cigarette; this is a metaphor because he says that can only hurt you if you light it.
What this means is that you can have something deadly, but it won t hurt you unless you play
with it. Another example of this is when Hazel goes to het support group in the literal heart of

group is held in a church basement; the basement is shaped like a cross. The group meets in the

Life During The Renaissance Era
The renaissance was a period of rapid change in many European countries. The constant struggle
between Catholicism and Protestantism alone created a country torn between both political and
spiritual ideologies. As different kings and queens came into power, many were forced to change
ideologies simply based on the beliefs of these monarchs. During this time, literature was used as a
way to protest these ideologies. The works of Edmund Spenser, author of The Faerie Queene, Sir
Thomas More, author of Utopia, the records of Anne Askew s burning, From the First
Examination of Anne Askew and John Foxe s Acts and Monuments, provide insight into the
political climate of spiritual reform in the renaissance era. These authors critiqued life during the
renaissance and used their writings to protest the old ways, encouraging England to abandon its
Catholic roots in favor of Protestantism. Sir Thomas More s radical ideas portrayed in Utopia
help lay the foundation for the religious reformation in England. In order to bring about this
reform, More creates a fictional utopia where he addresses the problems he has with England s
current state of being. In the analysis of More s fictional character Raphael Hythloday s, his trip to
Utopia draws a parallel with reforming England, including transitioning England from Catholicism
to Protestantism. According to Hythloday, on the island of Utopia, they believe in the idea of a
God but, different people define him differently, and each supposes

What happened to Bikini Atoll when the United States had a nuclear weapons test series?
Operation Crossroads was a nuclear test that was held during the summer of 1946 at Bikini

Picture this, jello, except not at all, because this jello has had the artificial fruity goodness life
sucked out of it and some genius had the brilliant idea to replace it with chicken of all things. The
concept of it is just so bizarre. Why would anyone want to submerge perfectly good chicken in
gelatin? The answer to that question is beyond me but somehow this giggly abomination on a

the chicken gelatin to find its way in.
Another Russian dish that not a particular favorite of mine would be cow tongue. It s a very
unusually dish to eat outside of the Russian community and if we re going to be honest its rather
unusual to me as well. It seems more like something a middle school age boy would attempt to
make his friends do on a dare rather than an actually palatable food. From first glance even before

and the meat, very soft and chewy. It s almost too soft really, in that it would be easy for
herbivores to eat it, even with their complete lack of canines. While

Max Brooks World War Z
World War Z Essay
In the novel, World War Z by Max Brooks, the protagonist interviews several characters that have
confronted the zombie crisis. Throughout the book the experiences and encounters of the
characters are related to international relations. The concepts that are most helpful in understanding
the International Relations of World WarZ include a security dilemma, zero sum game, and
bureaucratic politics model. In this essay I will analyze four different interviews of Bob Archer,
Travis D Ambrosia, Whako, and Ernesto Olguin while evaluating the individual, state, and
international levels of analysis, and argue the realist and liberalist theoretical approach best explain
the International Relations of each event or conflict.

The individual level of analysis is when the moral principles of individuals may translate into
that of the nations of the values and principle of the leader is reflected in the nation. First,
Whako and the president were very different. They came from diverse parties and had opposite
personalities but still worked closely together. Based on his personality and perspective, the
reader learns that he is passionate while the President is more logical which made them a good
team. However, based on the past experiences and personality of the Whako it creates biases on
how he perceived events. In his opening statements, he discusses that he had been a rising political
star until he self destructed, according to the media. From this statement it ruins his credibility as it
is difficult to know what is true and false. During questions regarding the election process, the
interviewer notes that Whako at first did not support the elections, but the President was able to
convince him that they were necessary, as they needed to know the public opinion and set a tone
for the administration. One of the president s policy was strict punishment laws. These laws kept
no one above the law and set order in the nation. Most importantly, it reflects his moral principles
and sets his approach to the crisis. The theoretical approach that provides the best explanation for
the situation is a

Determining the Effect of Potential Household Repellents...
Introduction:
The purpose of this project is to determine the effect of household substances, which contain
naturally occurring ant repelling chemicals, on ant behavior. While there are many plants that
chemically repel ants, this project will test if there are any household products, which contain some
of the same naturally occurring repellents, which ants will avoid. This paper will first identify what
plants repel ants.
The herbs and plants that best repel ants are tansy, catnip, pennyroyal, peppermint, sage, coffee, and
spearmint. All of these but catnip have some of medicinal use. Catnip and pennyroyal are both in
the mint family. It is already known what makes catnip a repellent nepetalactone, a chemical that
simulates pheromones. It is repulsive to insects, but attractive to cats. Tansy is also a repellent, and
was used to repel insects as early as the 19th century. However, this is for a different reason tansy
contains a volatile oil that becomes toxic when broken down. However, the components of this oil,
such as 1,8 cineole, thujone, camphor, and myrtenol all have various chemical and pheromonal
properties. The herb sage is more useful than tansy, but still contains many of the same chemicals
cineole, camphor, alpha thujone, and beta thujone. It is highly possible that these chemicals have
some sort of pheromonal effect on ants. On the other hand, there is pennyroyal repellent to ants
because it contains toxic oil, mostly based on a chemical called

How Racism Caused By Colonization, Age, And Gender Have A...
In 1958 Martin Luther King Jr. was quoted saying Hate begets hate; violence begets violence .
Unfortunately for some, the violence and hate they receive begets violence and hate deep into
themselves. For the Inuit people of northern Canada, racism presented through colonial violence
and acculturation has caused a crippling affliction. The effect of this violence has manifested itself
into various other forms of viciousness; domestic violence, substance abuse, neglect and self harm
are only a few. The perpetuation of this malicious cycle has created an exponential rise in violence
against oneself. Additionally, the process of growing up and creating an identity is extremely
difficult. Whereas, developing into an adult when faced with violence is exceptionally harder.
Many young Inuitmales succumb to this hardship. In comparison to the general population,
adolescent Inuit males have a disproportionately high suiciderate. Through an intersectional
analysis, I will examine the how racism caused by colonization, age, and genderhave caused one of
the highest suicide rates in the world.
The act of committing suicide in Inuit communities has changed drastically. Previously, an ill or
elder person would take their lives. This would be considered dying with ancient dignity as a
response to the burden they may put on their families (Kral, 2013). There were very few recorded
suicides amongst Inuit youth before the 1980 s (Working Group, 2009). The figures began to rise

Controversies In The History Of Medical Ethics
The history of Medical Ethics is the goal to try to do the right thing while also being able to
achieve the best outcome for the patient. As a result, official information, ideals, and rules for this
practice, while valuable, usually ignore consideration of the ethics and morals while completing
medical actions. Medical Ethicsis addressing a value that occurs during interactions between
providers and patients. The principles address the issue of being fair, honest, and respectful to
another human. Every situation is different and requires a different ethical medical approach
without any sort of bias. There are many controversies in the practice of medicine, and that s where

Longitudinal Studies Vs Cross Sectional Studies
You can talk about age related differences, but you cannot show age related changes with a cross
sectional studies. The old cross sectional studies tended to show that age related differences
began early in adulthood and continued to be apparent later. But, we have a more contemporary
view and it is a lot more positive. The notion is that while there are some age differences and
decline, it is less extreme than initially reported. There is a difference between cross sectional
studies and longitudinal studies because: 1. Cohort effects Years of Education Good health
Cognitive complexities of life 2. Practice effects If they know they are going to be tested, and if
they keep coming back, participants may be better, more calmer. 3. Selective

Abstract Cloud computing has been envisioned as the next generation architecture of the IT
enterprise due to its on demand self service, ubiquitous network access, location independent
resource pooling , rapid resource elasticity and usage based pricing . The fundamental aspect of
cloud storage computing model is that data is being centralized or outsourced into the cloud
without the burden of local hardware and software management thereby new and challenging threat
on data arises. Fingerprint Authentication , a significant security element and popular biometric
modality which is used extensively in several applications for person authentication, which provides
high uniqueness and acceptable performance. In existing system the security of fingerprint data is
not highly ensured . In this project A new approach of remote user fingerprint authentication
scheme using the concept of Boundry Segmentation ,Spatial Taxons , RGB Colour of Image

Comparing Shakespeare s Sonnet 18 with To his Coy...
Comparing Shakespeare s Sonnet 18 with To his Coy Mistress by Andrew Marvell I will be
comparing two poems, Shall I Compare Thee...? with To His Coy Mistress , I will examine the
purposes of each poem and the techniques used by the two poets to convey ideas and to achieve
purposes. Sonnet 18 was written by William s Shakespeare between 1564 and 1616. The poem
To his Coy Mistress was written by Andrew Marvell. The Purposes of the two poems are
different, the purpose of Sonnet 18 is for Shakespeare to write this poem for a girl or woman he
likes, to praise her by comparing her to wonderful things in life, such a Summer, also to grant her
immortality through lines of the poem; meaning as long as the poem will exist and be... Show more

Marvell does this to put her under pressure to have sex with him; this is a fear tactic and a
persuasive technique. He also associates the passing of time with her beauty fading, to make
her more self conscious and see that she should have sex with him beauty fades and she
becomes ugly, then nobody will have sex with her. He uses fear tactics throughout the poem to
persuade her to have sex with him; this affects the mood of the poem making it more threatening
and tenser. For example; To talk and pass our long love s day In line 11, Marvell talks about sex
using phallic imagery when saying vegetable love , this makes it humorous which will affect the
mood making it less tense and relaxing. Marvell uses many different tactics, such as exaggeration,
by comparing her to the Indian Ganges; Thou by the Indian Ganges side This affects the mood of
the poem making it flattery, imagery such as this will flatter the girl and persuade her to have sex
with him, and this establishes that this technique is persuasive. Marvell is Romantic in the poem in
line 19; For, lady, you deserve this state This makes this part of the poem calm and sensitive, which
contrasts to the following verses of the poem as they are threatening and

very worn down. You have to have a break or your work performance could suffer. The last part of
winter or the first part of spring, is when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To save money on dining out, purchase groceries to last you for the week. You can buy things to
make sandwiches so that you do not have to spend a lot of your vacation in the kitchen. Also,
purchase things for several home cooked meals so that you will not be tempted to eat out often.
The final step will be packing for your trip. Make a list of things that you will need while on
vacation. Be sure to pack all clothing and toiletries that you will need for a week. Also be sure to
pack any medications that you will need for the length of your stay. As you pack, take the time to
mark things off your list. Did you remember all of the kids swimsuits, floats, water toys and
sunblock? Did you pack snacks for the ride to your destination and games for the kids to play
while riding to keep them from getting bored?
Planning in advance and thoroughly for your vacation is the best way to enjoy your vacation when
the time to go finally arrives. As long as you have planned correctly by reserving your room,
purchasing your supplies, and packing properly, you will have a fabulous and worry free vacation.
You and the whole familywill be able to enjoy your time away, and you will make many
memories to enjoy because you took all the stress and worry out of your vacation by properly
planning the trip. Later on, you will be able to reminisce about all the great times you had with your

  • 2. Oil Palm And Palm Oil Since its establishment in the beginning of twentieth century, oil palm plantation management has evolved rapidly in terms of efficiency and productivity. Oil palm is a versatile plant that almost every single part of it proven to be useful (Figure 1). Oil palm produced two types of oil: palm oil and palm kernel oil. They are both extracted from mesocarp and the seed or kernel (hard shell mesocarp) by delicate separation at certain phases in palm oilfactory/milling processes (Basiron 2007). The two oils have different uses for different market niches. While palm oil is mainly used as food material, palm kernel oil is usually used as raw material in oleochemical industry such as detergents, toiletry, and cosmetics products. Therefore, almost 50% of products that can be found in the supermarket contains oil palmand its derivative (WWF 2009) Figure 1. The versatility of oil palm. Apart from the produced oil and its derivatives, oil palm biomass is a valuable commodity. Taken from IOPRI (2009) According to Basiron (2007), oil palm produced a significant amount of fibrous products such as empty fruit bunches and fruit mesocarp fibres, which have been reused in the plantations and in the mills as soil mulch and material to be burnt in boiler to produce energy, respectively. Further use of this fibrous biomass will be second generation biofuel which based on fibre conversion into a liquid fuel. In plantation practice, oil palm has been used integrated pest management ... Clarkson Lumber Case Study CLARKSON LUMBER CASE STUDY B RADY CLIFFORD DAN HORTON EMIL HYMAS Y RICH WILKINSON EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Clarkson Lumber Company, owned by Mr. Keith Clarkson, has been in business for 15 years and currently has 15 employees. Firms who have worked with Clarkson speak very highly of him, saying that he is conservative and his operating expenses are low. The company s revenues are projected to continue to grow. Recently, Clarkson Lumber s accounts payable and notes payable have increased significantly. The company has not been able to take advantage of trade discounts in recent years because of lack of funds and because of investments due to the company s growth. It is also important to recognize specific ratios related to the company. The current ratio, which is helpful in understanding asset liquidity or inefficient use of cash flow, decreased from 2.5 in 1993 to 1.1 in 1995. High profit companies have a current CLARKSON LUMBER CASE STUDY FINAN 6022 002 PAGE 2 ratio of 2.52. ROE for Clarkson Lumber remains relatively steady; it increased from 1993 to 1994 but decreased to 17.1% in 1995. This ROE is only slightly lower than the ROE for high profit companies which is at 22.1%. After reviewing Clarkson Lumber s financial situation, several key issues became apparent. First, the company is clearly growing at an unsustainable rate. Exhibit 3 (various statistical ratios), shows the average internal growth rate of the company at 6.06% and the average sustainable growth rate at 15.78%. However, over the three full years analyzed, the company has an average growth margin of 24.5% and an average asset growth margin of 33.69%. This continues in the forecasted 1996 year as the company is projected to increase revenue by roughly 21.7%. At the company s current level, it cannot continue to support its current growth rate going forward and will require more debt to finance this growth. Therefore, the company seems to be overly reliant on short term financing for its operations. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Why Don t We Complain By William F. Buckley Jr Who Can Complain As human beings we strive for more. The ultimate goal is to live a luxurious life and accomplish the goals we set out for ourselves. Sometimes a person has to be grateful for what they have, and just allow faith to run its course. There is a saying in my country, if you have everything you want in life, and everything goes your way, you will die . What I mean by this is, once a person as accomplished all their life goals, there is nothing left in life to fight for. Above all the material wealth one could wish for, the most important thing is respect. In Why Don t We Complain by William F. Buckley JR, Buckley really found the lack of respect and the lack of consideration some people have, for him, intolerable. Compared to The Fourth of July by Audre Lorde, her parents did not contradict any of life s circumstances, because they couldn t complain. Complaining would have made the matter worse. Looking at these two essays I realize that complaining about something you feel is unfair is not good, but there are certain complaints which are more serious than others. Surprisingly, Why Don t We Complain and The Fourth of July both had problems with the train system. A person would expect Audre s family to complain more about the trains; instead it was William who mentions how uncomfortable he felt in that situation. In the Audre essay she mentions how they could not dine in the diner car, meanwhile William was complaining about how hot the train was. He was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Hildegard Alleluia Essay Egeria is perceived as a mysterious worshipper of her time, around the fourth century. Hildegard of Bingen is believed to be a twelfth century renaissance woman. Due to time and lack of proper records, details about Egeria are not well known. However, people speculate that she was a Spanish nun who lived in the fourth century. Hildegard existed between the years 1098 and 1179 and she was a German medieval composer (Newman 273). Notably, the musical works of Hildegard are set in a liturgical way. Hildegard s Alleluia is a typical plain chant with the main message being unending praises for Virgin Mary. It is done by a group of soloists who take a lead in turns as the others give responses. The piece is monophonic, that is one note per syllable, with minimal movement. Notably the single melody has no accompaniment (Newman 273). Being a sacred text, it is meant to be used during worship and mostly during feasts to honor Mary especially in the Roman Catholic setting. The work of Hildegard generally portrays great knowledge and wisdom in the field of music. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 6. Fall Of Roman Empire Essay Multiple aspects of Rome s economy led to the fall of what was once the most powerful empire in the world. The Roman Empire was established in 27 BC, and it stretched throughout parts of Europe, Africa, and Asia. Their economy, which was once the idealistic financial system for countries worldwide, started to worsen. An empire, especially one as strong and powerful as Rome s, cannot survive on an unstable economy. As finances, the work force, and diplomatic relations of Rome started to decline, so did the country. In 476 AD, the Roman Empirecollapsed. The deterioration of Rome s overall economy led to the fall of what was once known as The Capital of the World. The finances of Rome played a key part in why the empire collapsed. Rome... Rome s strong fighting force enabled them to control almost anything they wanted. However, it was not as easy with the Vandals. The Vandals were a Germanic tribe led by a man named Gunderic. This tribe, which was highly dangerous, consisted of mainly farmers, craftsmen, and jewelry makers. The Vandals launched their fleet out to the Mediterranean Sea, eventually gaining control of many territories that used to belong to Rome, such as North Africa. Gunderic had his hostile tribe raid coastlines and destroy every ship that crossed its path. The Vandals stole gold, precious jewels, and more from countries around the world, including ones in the Roman Empire. The Romans could no longer handle having the Vandals in their territories, so they engaged in war with them. Surprisingly, the Vandals beat what was once the number one fighting force in the entire world. In return for winning the war, the Romans gave the Vandals permission to do whatever they wanted wherever they pleased. This disrupted the trade between Rome and other countries, for the Vandals had war ships around many important ports and docks. It is a lifelong genetic disorder with a prevalence of 1:10,000 birth and that of the most severe form of the disease to be approximately 6% per 1,00,000 Population (1). Depending on the activity of coagulant factor VIII or IX in blood, hemophilia may be labeled as severe ( 1% of normal), moderate (1 4%) or mild (5 25%) (2) . hemophilia is characterized by recurrent haemarthroses inside the less muscular padding joints as knees, elbows and ankles joints (3). Because immature cartilage is even more susceptible to spontaneous bleeding, most of hemophilic children experience repeated episodes of hemorrhage into their joints (4). Abstract In attempting to understand intelligence, it can be alleged that someone who is intelligent is able to make logical reasonable decisions, to assess situations, has read extensively, has good ideas and is an expert on a particular subject. This then leads to the question, how is intelligence measured? This article is concerned with discussing the involvement of David Wechsler and his role in the development of the IQ (Intelligence Quotient) test by describing the history and content of such tests . This will be done by employing secondary data from journal articles, newspapers and credible sources via internet. With age and experience being key factors, there are other concepts of importance which were left out such as emotions and the impact of the environment. According to Psychological Corporation (1997), Wechsler viewed intelligence as a multidimensional construct, consisting of both general aptitude and specific abilities, the latter of which are composed of elements which are quantitatively different, yet contribute to general ability as a whole. He believed intelligence should be measured by both verbal and performance tasks, although later in his career, he began to explore other factors related to intelligence that is the ability to perceive and respond to social, moral, and aesthetic values. Kaufman and Lichtenberger (1999) posit that the development of the Wechsler tests was not based on theory, except for, general intelligence theory. Instead, Wechsler applied his clinical skills and experience, as well as his extensive statistical training in development of the scales for his intelligence tests (Kaufman Lichtenberger, 1999; Wechsler, 1997). However, extensive theoretical perspectives have been applied to the Wechsler scales, the nature of the tests, and the meaning of their scores. The subtests Wechsler selected for his tests comprises of many different mental abilities such as abstract reasoning, verbal skills, and processing speed. • 10. English Language Barriers Even though some immigrants come into the U.S and go into the field of entrepreneurship by either starting from scratch or having the requirements needed, it s harder for most immigrants to find employment with well paying jobs because not all have a safe place to go home to and not every immigrant comes into the U.S breaking the language barrier. Essentially, not every foreigner that comes to the U.S is prepared to handle the stress that comes with communicating with one another, that can be experienced as a result of not knowing enough of the language to speak English and be understood. This problem is presented, creating multiple obstacles for a newcomer to achieve their goals, either to obtain a good job to support their family or hoping the money in the United States is better than what they earned in their original country. But because many lack the skill to communicate with others, people who speak fluently English may get frustrated with those who can t connect or have difficulty understanding what one is trying to get across to the other, decreasing the chance of the migratory to be granted a job, able to ace a job interview, open opportunities to find a home, make friends or even struggle with great difficulty getting the information they need. Struggling with their fluency will impact dramatically their self esteem, causing one to feel ashamed and afraid due to them knowing they don t have the ease of speaking freely their broken English without being laughed at or criticized. Furthermore, another disadvantage new settlers have is the insufficiency of transportation. When families come in a hurry to the U.S, it s highly likely almost every newcomer doesn t have someone or a way to transit from one location to another. Let s say, a man doesn t have access to a car to drive from his house to the building he works in. Let s not forget his workplace is on the other side of town. He has a couple options now, to mount up earlier in the morning to walk to his workplace and still manage to arrive on time, take a bus to the nearest stop to his work building until he can afford a car or ask a friend to give him a ride until he has saved enough. • 13. The Role Of Christ s Body And The Relics Of Bodies Essay Bodies, living and dead, play an immense role in Christianity. The body and the relics of bodies are actually able to become places where one can have direct contact with God, but only if there are sanctified (Nachaj, Lecture 12). There are many examples of ways to sanctification including but not limited to, celibacy, poverty, martyrdom, preaching and spreading the gospel, leading communities through teachings, and performing miracles (Nachaj, Lecture 12). Many of these important practices and ways of living are discussed in the following paper including the importance of JesusChrist (in his living and dead form), martyrs such an Julian of Norwich, shrines, relics, and monks and nuns. In most cases provided, it is explained how to body is a sin like possession that Christians are constantly trying to strive away from but this is proved wrong through way of looking at God s creations. By far, one of the most prominent bodies to playa role in Christian teaching and practice would be that of Jesus the Christ s body; in physical and spiritual form. Jesus was seen as being both human, in the flesh, and God, in the spirit (Nachaj, Lecture 12). For Christians, Jesus is seen in direct relation of God as either sharing a father son relationship with him, or as actually being the bodied version of God himself. As one of the largest cities in Asia and the core political center, urban development in Beijing has proceeded at an accelerated pace in the last two decades (Robin Visser, 2005). However, it still suffered lots of ethical dilemmas after 28 years successful city construction on urban planning. Although, the reasons of death of city culture are complicated, there is little doubt that demolitions have a negative impact on the cultural conservation especially on heritage preservation. Evaluation of perioperative variations in the levels of inflammatory markers in open reduction and internal fixation of maxillofacial fractures INTRODUCTION Infectious complications are commonly encountered following ORIF (Open reduction and internal fixation) ever since it has been adopted as a treatment modality for maxillofacial fractures. Early detection of infection can be difficult in the postoperative phase as many signs and symptoms may actually mimic a SIRS (Systemic inflammatory response syndrome). There is a wealth of literature supporting the use of various inflammatory markers in diagnosis and monitoring of treatment of infectious complications in post operative patients[1 4]. Various authors have studied markers including (Total leucocyte count) TLC, CRP(C reactive protein), AST (Aspartate Transaminase) and ALT (Alanine Transaminase) in patients with SIRS and sepsis [5]. Behaviour of inflammatory markers and their correlation to infection in the postoperative phase have been evaluated in various disciplines of surgery. However, similar studies in maxillofacial surgery have been found to be very scarce. We therefore designed a study to evaluate perioperative variations in the levels inflammatory markers in Open Reduction and Internal Fixation (ORIF) of maxillofacial fractures. An attempt was made to establish an acceptable range of variations in the values of inflammatory markers in ORIF and co relate these variations to the length of surgery, type of ... It has been revised many times and in 1990 was renamed the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The latest revision was published in August of 2006. Mainstreaming with regards to education is a term that alludes to the act of instructing understudies with exceptional needs in standard classes amid particular eras in light of their aptitudes. COMPARE AND CONTRAST OLIVER TWIST INTRODUCTION Everyone is aware that books have a richer backstory and more intrigues than a film, and that is natural due to the length of the book compared to the film. But why does everyone always say that the book was better than the film, even though, the film is way more focused and fast paced? Is it really that big of a difference between the book and the film? I will use this compare and contrast essay to try and explain in which way the Oliver Twist book is both very similar and very different from the film adaptation of Oliver Twist. I will also try to explain why people generally think that the book is better than the film. This contrast is not very significant because the outcome is the same for both the film and the novel. I would like to end up with saying that I thought the novel was better than the film and I will explain why I think so and why I think others think likewise. It has to do with the fact that the more focused the content becomes, the less room is left for the significant side facts so to speak. Since China s exports mainly focus on the labor intensive and resource intensive industries, this exports pattern causes a serious environmental problem in China. Therefore, many regulations and principles point out that international trade must integrate with the environment and the economic development. To this extent, green barriers have a rational and positive effect on protecting environment as well as the health of human beings, animals and plants. Specifically, the reasons are explained as follows. First, a green barrier has been widely accepted by WTO members in principle as an environmental measure related to trade. The European Union has applied ISO 14000 to request all imported goods meet environment standards. Second, green barriers are not only embodied in environmental and technological effects, but also in aligning world production according to true comparative advantage. I am going to argue that there does not exist a super or godlike being who is all good, all knowing, all powerful. (40 words) In the text titled The problem of Evil, Blackburn infers that god is not fit to be worshipped and should not be the origin principle of right and wrong. God supposedly has perfect morals and is infinite in power allowing him to accomplish anything he desires. God is an all powerful, all knowing, and an all caring god. And if God is all knowing, then God should already know the outcome and destination of every single individual in the world. Lastly, if God is all caring then he is looking for our best interest. God wants us to live comfortably among each other. And if we do in truth live comfortably and everyone lives comfortably among one another then. It would enable a world where wars are extinguished, along with crime and poverty. But that is not the case. God willingly watch us live our lives miserably in an even more miserable world. The constant struggle between Catholicism and Protestantism alone created a country torn between both political and spiritual ideologies. As different kings and queens came into power, many were forced to change ideologies simply based on the beliefs of these monarchs. During this time, literature was used as a way to protest these ideologies. The works of Edmund Spenser, author of The Faerie Queene, Sir Thomas More, author of Utopia, the records of Anne Askew s burning, From the First Examination of Anne Askew and John Foxe s Acts and Monuments, provide insight into the political climate of spiritual reform in the renaissance era. These authors critiqued life during the renaissance and used their writings to protest the old ways, encouraging England to abandon its Catholic roots in favor of Protestantism. Sir Thomas More s radical ideas portrayed in Utopia help lay the foundation for the religious reformation in England. In order to bring about this reform, More creates a fictional utopia where he addresses the problems he has with England s current state of being. • 38. How Russian Culture Has Changed My Life Russian culture has always had a big impact on my life as a mixed, Russian/Black individual. And as most Russians will tell you, food is a huge part of their culture. I grew up with so many diverse food on my plate over the year and simply assumed that that was just what everyone ate until I started going to school and noticing other kids lunches, and they started to notice mine. But at the heart of my semi Russian experience there are four foods that seem to best capture the ideal Russian dishes. Aspic gelatin Cow tongue Hunter bacon Cabbage roll Now of course I could go on with lots a delicious Russian dishes such as pelmeni, and shuba, and blin, and oh my gosh I complete forgot to have lunch. Each of those dishes gives a better ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Picture this, jello, except not at all, because this jello has had the artificial fruity goodness life sucked out of it and some genius had the brilliant idea to replace it with chicken of all things. The concept of it is just so bizarre. Why would anyone want to submerge perfectly good chicken in gelatin? The answer to that question is beyond me but somehow this giggly abomination on a silver platter plate is one of my mom s favorite dishes. So whenever it shows up at these Russian parties I keep my mouth shut, in hopes not to say anything that would insult her tastes, nor allow the chicken gelatin to find its way in. Another Russian dish that not a particular favorite of mine would be cow tongue. It s a very unusually dish to eat outside of the Russian community and if we re going to be honest its rather unusual to me as well. It seems more like something a middle school age boy would attempt to make his friends do on a dare rather than an actually palatable food. From first glance even before it enters your mouth something just seems off. It s such a drained, depressed, eeyore ish gray. And unlike how it is in beauty and the beast, the gray stuff is not delicious. As I begin to bite my tongue I m hit with the a rather unique texture, dead cow s taste buds. The taste itself, incredibly bland, and the meat, very soft and chewy. It s almost too soft really, in that it would be easy for herbivores to eat it, even with their complete lack of canines. • 39. Max Brooks World War Z World War Z Essay In the novel, World War Z by Max Brooks, the protagonist interviews several characters that have confronted the zombie crisis. Throughout the book the experiences and encounters of the characters are related to international relations. The concepts that are most helpful in understanding the International Relations of World WarZ include a security dilemma, zero sum game, and bureaucratic politics model. In this essay I will analyze four different interviews of Bob Archer, Travis D Ambrosia, Whako, and Ernesto Olguin while evaluating the individual, state, and international levels of analysis, and argue the realist and liberalist theoretical approach best explain the International Relations of each event or conflict. First, Whako and the president were very different. They came from diverse parties and had opposite personalities but still worked closely together. Based on his personality and perspective, the reader learns that he is passionate while the President is more logical which made them a good team. However, based on the past experiences and personality of the Whako it creates biases on how he perceived events. In his opening statements, he discusses that he had been a rising political star until he self destructed, according to the media. From this statement it ruins his credibility as it is difficult to know what is true and false. During questions regarding the election process, the interviewer notes that Whako at first did not support the elections, but the President was able to convince him that they were necessary, as they needed to know the public opinion and set a tone for the administration. One of the president s policy was strict punishment laws. These laws kept no one above the law and set order in the nation. • 40. Determining the Effect of Potential Household Repellents... Introduction: The purpose of this project is to determine the effect of household substances, which contain naturally occurring ant repelling chemicals, on ant behavior. While there are many plants that chemically repel ants, this project will test if there are any household products, which contain some of the same naturally occurring repellents, which ants will avoid. This paper will first identify what plants repel ants. The herbs and plants that best repel ants are tansy, catnip, pennyroyal, peppermint, sage, coffee, and spearmint. All of these but catnip have some of medicinal use. Catnip and pennyroyal are both in the mint family. It is already known what makes catnip a repellent nepetalactone, a chemical that simulates pheromones. It is repulsive to insects, but attractive to cats. Tansy is also a repellent, and was used to repel insects as early as the 19th century. However, this is for a different reason tansy contains a volatile oil that becomes toxic when broken down. However, the components of this oil, such as 1,8 cineole, thujone, camphor, and myrtenol all have various chemical and pheromonal properties. The herb sage is more useful than tansy, but still contains many of the same chemicals cineole, camphor, alpha thujone, and beta thujone. It is highly possible that these chemicals have some sort of pheromonal effect on ants. On the other hand, there is pennyroyal repellent to ants because it contains toxic oil, mostly based on a chemical called ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. How Racism Caused By Colonization, Age, And Gender Have A... In 1958 Martin Luther King Jr. was quoted saying Hate begets hate; violence begets violence . Unfortunately for some, the violence and hate they receive begets violence and hate deep into themselves. For the Inuit people of northern Canada, racism presented through colonial violence and acculturation has caused a crippling affliction. The effect of this violence has manifested itself into various other forms of viciousness; domestic violence, substance abuse, neglect and self harm are only a few. The perpetuation of this malicious cycle has created an exponential rise in violence against oneself. Additionally, the process of growing up and creating an identity is extremely difficult. Whereas, developing into an adult when faced with violence is exceptionally harder. Many young Inuitmales succumb to this hardship. In comparison to the general population, adolescent Inuit males have a disproportionately high suiciderate. Through an intersectional analysis, I will examine the how racism caused by colonization, age, and genderhave caused one of the highest suicide rates in the world. The act of committing suicide in Inuit communities has changed drastically. Previously, an ill or elder person would take their lives. This would be considered dying with ancient dignity as a response to the burden they may put on their families (Kral, 2013). There were very few recorded suicides amongst Inuit youth before the 1980 s (Working Group, 2009). The figures began to rise in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Sonnet 18 was written by William s Shakespeare between 1564 and 1616. The poem To his Coy Mistress was written by Andrew Marvell. The Purposes of the two poems are different, the purpose of Sonnet 18 is for Shakespeare to write this poem for a girl or woman he likes, to praise her by comparing her to wonderful things in life, such a Summer, also to grant her immortality through lines of the poem; meaning as long as the poem will exist and be...
