Planning: A budget provides a detailed plan of action for a business over definite period of time.
Detailed plans relating to production, sales, raw material requirements, labour needs, advertising
and sales promotion performance, research and development activities, capital additions etc., are
drawn up. By planning many problems are anticipated long before they arise and solutions can be
sought through careful study. Thus most business emergencies can be avoided by planning. In
brief, budgeting forces the management to think ahead, to anticipate and prepare for the anticipated
conditions.
2. Co ordination: Budgeting aids managers in co ordinating their efforts so that objectives of the
organisation as a whole harmonise with the objectives of its divisions. Effective planning and
organisation contributes a lot in achieving coordination. There should be coordination in the
budgets of various departments. For example, the budget of sales should be in coordination with the
budget of production. Similarly, production budget should be prepared in co ordination with the
purchase budget, and so on.
3. Communication: A budget is a communication device. The approved budget copies are
distributed to all management personnel which provides not only adequate understanding and
knowledge of the programmes and policies to be followed but also gives knowledge about the
restrictions to be adhered to. It is not the budget itself that

The Comparison Between Miss Brill And Evelyn And Miss Austen
The comparison between the protagonist Miss Brill and Evelyn:
In the short story Miss Brill by Mansfield the protagonist is holding onto the past. She has
delusions of what her life once was, and tries to look at the presence. However, in the short story
Eveline, by Joyce, Eveline the protagonist is trying to hold onto the future and deny the past. Both
characters, however, in the end, lose hold of their fantasies and have to face reality. Miss Brill
learns of her delusion when she is out at the park listening to the band play music. She imagines
herself as being young and desired. The writer Mayfield uses her fur as a symbolism of her
beauty and youth. While Miss Brill is sitting at the park, she imagines a life where everyone is
happy and joyous. She dreams that everyone is on stage performing. Unfortunately, a young
couple comes and sits next to her and degrades her fur and disrespects her. This astonished
behavior makes Miss Brill have to face reality. She realizes that she is not the young woman
Miss Brill so wishes to hold onto, but the old lady that she fears to live. Miss Brill is so upset
about this resolution that Miss Brill leaves the park and walks home skipping her routine of
stopping at the bakery and getting her Sunday treat. She walks back to a place that she calls a
cupboard. This symbolism is a dark and isolated room, expressing that a home Miss Brill is alone
and sad. When Miss Brill gets home, she grabs the box for her fur and puts the coat back

Benefits of Virtual Local Area Network
I would recommend a VLAN.
A VLAN stands for virtual local area network, which is a group of host computers/ networks
/ single user PCs or workstations (i.e. clients) that have a common set of requirements and are
attached to the same domain (the server). The server provides clients with a set of shared services
and helps clients to share access to the same database as well as to communicate with oen another.
With their networked computers, Company LTET can communicate between its manufacturing
plants in China and its assembly and distribution plants, as well as HQs and offices in the US.
A VLAN is the answer for LTET in that it provides clustered architecturing of all the computers
interconnected working together as a unified whole by being connected to one server. This
allows for end station to be grouped together even if they are on different network switches. The
cluster can have hundreds of machines linked together; they can add new systems as LTET
expands; the failure of one node does not mean loss of service; and a cluster provides greater
computing power at reduced cost when compared to cost and computing power of one separate
machine.
VLANS, too, are ideal for LTET not only in that they make transcription of information easier for
them (by automating it) but also that they address the issues of information flow between the
various sites whilst addressing security and network management, as well as insuring speedy access
and retrieval of information all that is

Essay on Comparing My Twin Cousins
Comparing My Twin Cousins
For years I have been fascinated by that mysterious quirk of nature called twins. In my family,
there are several sets of identical twins, and I have always concentrated on their similarities. I did
not realize that identical twins also have many differences. My identical twin cousins, Sue and
Heidi, appear to be perfect mirror images. They love to dress alike. They can feel each other s
pain. They sound alike and can complete each other s sentences. But upon taking a closer look, I
have found that they are as different as day and night. Aside from Sue and Heidi s outward
characteristics, they possess several distinguishing traits that allow them to be viewed as two

Her grades positively reflect her efforts.
Sue and Heidi also possess very dissimiliar personalities. Sue is a free spirit; she is wild and
crazy and thrives on adventure. One night at a football game, she was dared by some of her
peers to go onto the field and moon the opposition. Needless to say, she took the dare. She is
very talkative, a real chatterbox. Also, she is very quick tempered and impatient. For example,
the slightest thing, like a grocery store clerk s slowly checking out customers in the line she is
in, will cause her to become irrational. On the other hand, Heidi is extremely conservative. On
the same occasion that Sue was dared to moon the opposition on the football field, Heidi was
given the same dare but would not even consider taking part in such an immature prank. Heidi
does not talk much; she is very shy. She is known as the level headed and laid back twin.
Sue and Heidi s personal interests and goals further reflect their individual styles and tastes. Sue
is very creative. She is a talented, self taught artist. She can draw practically anything she has
seen. Sue is also a very good athlete. She plays tennis in her leisure time, and she is on her school
s basketball and track teams. She has great endurance. She can run miles without easily tiring and
can play several consecutive games of tennis or basketball without breaking a

Definitions: In determining the scope of coverage, the insurance policy depends on a very specific
and very clear meaning of the terms and phrases. Since these terms and phrases are often repeated
many times in an insurance policy, a single definition of a term or phrase is included in the
definition of the policy, rather than when the term is used. When the term is defined in the
insurance terms, the reader is usually reminded, usually placed in quotation marks. Since the

How to Communicate with a Fish
It s 5 A.M. and the darkness surrounds us. The sun and the birds will rise in about one hour. Our
blue baseball caps rest next to us on the front seat of the truck. The boat is ready with equipment,
supplies, and of course, our lunch for the day. Now, let s catch a fish...or two. Determining
where the fish are biting is our first key to success. The water must be calm, clean, lukewarm,
and an average depth of sixteen feet. There is a perfect spot we know about nestled around an
island in a nearby lake. Before placing the boat into the water, the check to see if the oars are
attached and ready for rowing. Go lightly with the Sevylor 12V trolling motor to the perfect spot
using the depth finder. Drop the anchors slowly so that you do not scare the fish away. Before
we begin to fish, we must first take care of a few items. Selecting a pole is next on deck and it is
determined by many factors, including the type of material. Two types that I prefer are graphite
and fiberglass. The combination makes a high quality, resistant, yet flexible, pole that gives just
enough to fool the fish into thinking they are about to eat breakfast. The handle should be made
of cork and should also be of a high quality, light material, allowing a comfortable grip. The right
cork can also transmit the vibrations of the big bass nipping at the worm. You have selected the
perfect pole, now it needs the precise reel to bring those fish in. There are many types of casting
reels. My choice is the bait

Edna s Transformation in The Awakening by Kate Chopin Essay
The Awakening by Kate Chopin, is a story of a woman who breaks free from the restraints put
on her by society. During the first part of the story, Edna was a normal wife and mother; she was
restricted to her stereotype and expected to stay at home, be loyal to her husband, and care for
her children. As the story progresses and Edna redefines herself, we eventually are reading about a
new character entirely. She ignores the internalized concept of being a mother and wife and
becomes a new woman. She cheats on her husband, disregards her children, and defies her societal
expectations. At the end of the story, Edna Pontellier commits suicide to free herself from her
confusing and scandalous life. During the first phase of Edna s... Show more content on

Edna becomes familiar with the idea that she needs to do something about herself so that she
doesn t continue her colorless, stereotypical life; she has to drift away from her regular routine
and disenthrall. As Edna awakens , her objective becomes more defined; she wants to escape
and free herself. Chopin often subtly compares Edna to a bird throughout the story; In the very
beginning of the book, Edna is compared to a caged bird: A green and yellow parrot, which
hung in a cage outside the door, (5). It is obvious now, after reading the book, that Chopin knew
exactly what would become of Edna. A caged bird, when freed, often dies because it is not
familiar with the wild; this is exactly what happens to Edna Pontellier. Later in the story,
Mademoiselle Reisz tells Edna The bird that would soar above the level plain of tradition and
prejudice must have strong wings. It is a sad spectacle to see the weaklings bruised, exhausted,
fluttering back to earth (138). This is a more definitive foreshadowing than the caged bird; when
Edna dies, it s because she is unable to find the strength to swim back, she s weak. She pushed
herself too far and led herself astray mentally and literally; if she had stayed in her cage and had
confined herself to a simple, mundane life, she would never be lost. Kate Chopin told a meaningful
story that a

Examples Of Peer Relationships In Mean Girls
In the film Mean Girls there were many types of peer relationships expressed. Friendships are
described as a reciprocal liking, trust, and loyalty between all participating dyadic parties. An
example in the film is the relationship that Damian and Janis hold because they are loyal to each
other and the liking is mutual. Peer acceptance is to the degree one is liked by their peers. In the
film Aaron Samuels is very much liked by his peers. Perceived popular is a child that is
considered popular based on their peers perceptions. Regina George is a prime example of
teenage girl perceived as popular. When students described Regina George in the film these type
of comments were made, Regina George is flawless , One time she punched me in the faced. It
was awesome. , and she always looks fierce. Cliques are polyadic social groups that are voluntary.
A main clique in the movie is The Plastics which consists of Regina George, Gretchen Wieners,
and Karen Smith. These forms of peer relationships are a lot more complex than just a group of
friends, these relationships of dynamic in early adolescence.
Friendship
Regina George s friend group is comprised of Karen and Gretchen. Their friendship is difficult at
times. They share secrets among each other, for example the burn book is a secret between the
girls. When Cady is included into the friend group she is then entrusted with the group s secrets.

Specific industries were hit by the 9/11 events, in particular the airline industry. It can be said that
no other industry was as immediately affected by the events of 9/11 as the airline industry.
Demand for flights and holidays fell dramatically due to the fear of flying at such a fragile time,
this hit the industry hard, causing sales to fall dramatically. As a result, a vast amount of jobs were
lost at the worlds largest airline companies and only a government bail out prevented others from
falling into bankruptcy. These include Sabena (Belgium), Swissair, Ansett Australia, and Vanguard
Airlines (United States). The situation is however slowly improving, although stably not
spectacularly. Much of the trust in the safety of air travel seems to have been regained a year
after and some of the jobs have also been regained. However since the war on Iraq begun,
consumers are again wary of air travel due to the risk of another attack.
Tourism was another industry hit hard. Some claim it was partly due to the slump in demand for
air travel, which is the most common form of transport from one country to another. Overseas
visits to the United Kingdom for example fell by 9% for 2001. Tourism is a

Reflection Paper On Perseverance
Research Reflection
Before I began researching I was really passionate about the ability to persevere and I knew I
wanted to talk about perseverance and explain why it was such an essential characteristic to
have. I especially wanted to find examples of many others that had to persevere to get through
their own tough times. But when I originally started researching my topic I did not exactly have
anything in mind about what I was exactly looking for. This was mainly due to that I had the
ideas in my head but did not know how to put those in a way that I could deliver it for the whole
class to understand. So as I began researching I focused on just using perseverance in school, like
not giving up after not getting a concept the first time. But after looking through a few articles I
found many examples of when perseverance was used in other ways, such as building things for
society or ways in which one can be successful. This then broadened my perspective on
perseverance and showed me the benefits of it.
The Grit: the Power of Passion and Perseverance. Ted Talk video was extremely helpful for my
research since it gave me numerous amounts of examples of how the main thing that distinguishes
kids for who they are is perseverance. I found out that one s intelligence quality is not determined
by their test scores, but rather it is determined by how they improve on making those test scores
the best they can be. Most of the things in the Ted Talk I had heard about before or

Behavioral Finance By Daniel Kahneman And Amol Tversky
1.8. BEHAVIORAL FINANCE
The whole concept of Behavioural Finance was introduced by Daniel Kahneman and Amol
Tversky in late 1960s. They are called as the father of Behavioural Finance. Their observation
began to kick off a whole range of discoveries, with ramifications that investors cannot afford to
ignore. Later, Tversky and Kahneman began to uncover previously searched series of behavioural
bias that causes investors to act irrationally. In 2002, Daniel Kahneman received the Noble
Memorial Prize for his contribution to the study of rationality in economics. Understanding
Behavioural Finance and how it affects the markets is the key to a successful investment strategy.
Behavioral Finance is the new emerging science that explains the irrational behaviour of investors.

Abstract
The life of a correctional officer is something that is easily over looked. Not understanding or
knowing the intricate details that go into what it actually takes to coexist with incarcerated inmates
is one of the reasons that the general public is able to go about their daily lives, not thinking or
wondering how those inmates are controlled. Correctional officers have one of the hardest jobs on
the planet, having to work with prison inmates on a daily basis and not knowing when something
may happen that could endanger themselves or their fellow correctional officers. Keywords: daily,

Some of the Correctional Officer functions are, to enforce and keep order, they supervise
activities of inmates, aid in rehabilitation and counseling of offenders, routinely search inmates
for contraband items, and often report on inmates conduct on a day to day basis. While the daily
duties of a correctional officer can truly be viewed as the proverbial daily grind , they often have
to perform these prison duties while dealing with stressful and often times very dangerous
situations. While most of us on the outside world try to make a routine day more enjoyable, routine
for the correctional officers within the prison is not a negative thing in the least, as a routine day is
very important to the successful operation of a correctional facility. Routine in a prison
environment is the consistent, scheduled, and expected activities that make up the day within a
prison (Seiter, 2011).
The daily grind for correctional officers include specific assignments that can be anything from
supervising inmates on a work crew or in a housing area to a non inmate contact job in a tower or

And this amazingly helped me understand that there is no getting away from destruction. It really
does represent the reality of war. When a family only has the company of each other, that is the
only good take away they have while in the middle of their country s crisis. Just like what the
photographer stated, there is no right and positive representation of being stuck in battle. I really
found this photo fantastic, especially because this was the first one that caught my eye. As I began
to analyze it, I found more and more ways to connect it to the reality of war. Many families who ve
experienced losing their loved one to war can relate to this photograph and agree there is no way
out of the hardship. The second photo is called Empty Boys. What s different about this photo
from the other two is that it is out in combat, there is no color, and there is a montage of a man s
silhouette with different background inserted inside. There are three rows and four columns of the
man s silhouette. The entire photo and the outlines are displayed vertically with a... Show more

real world there is no getting away from acts of destruction. This image also depicts that war is

The Poet: Emerson Response
By the end of Emersons The Poet , not only has he inspired a new generation of poets he s also
emphasized the important role poetry plays in society and changed all the rules society had
regarding poetry. For poetry was all written before time was, and whenever we are so finely
organized that we can penetrate into that region where the air is music, ... (Emerson pg. 3)
In this excerpt from The Poet, Emerson is attempting to make a profound statement on the
impact poetry plays in every living human being on Earth. He is viewing a poet as the creator of
the universe. In doing this he is saying that poetry is something that already exists all around us,
it s the job of the poet to capture that and present it through their words. Emerson labels the poet
as the man of Beauty, which he believes has a superior calling. The poet is different from the
intellectual as he doesn t see any relation between the material world, and the world of thoughts
and ideas. Emerson establishes his belief that there is a relationship between the ideal , which is
something that we aspire to be, and the real which is one of the central issues in the discussion.
Emerson backs up all his points with very heady, and mystical beliefs which adds to the grandiose
nature of The Poet. Emerson believes that too many of us have distanced ourselves

George Bush as a Machiavellian Leader Essay
George Bush as a Machiavellian Leader
George Bush and Niccolo Machiavelli are two very influential political figures that share some
similar ideals. Machiavelli s work was never intended to be applied to republics, or a democratic
government. The advice written in The Prince would have likely been applied in the time of
absolute government, when countries were ruled by one leader. It is a work which, as Machiavelli
himself says that his philosophy is only applied to principalities, or what we call dictatorships in
modern times.
Elected from the state of Texas, George Bushis a strictly right winged conservative. When he was
governor, Bush showed no clemency for the death row inmates which resulted in a record number of

Presently, the United States, Great Britain, Germany, France, India, and China have or can
develop devastating nuclear bombs. Nuclear bombs can cause unfathomable destruction of land
and people. North Korea and Iran, the two very radical countries appear to be on the verge of
making nuclear bombs. Mr. Bush on his recent trip to Europe tried to rally support from major
leaders to stop selling nuclear material and secrets to these two states. His opposition of nuclear
energy in the hands of dictators is for the common good of America and other countries. It may
not be fair or equitable to keep the nuclear energy away from a certain group or state, but the result
is focused mainly on the security for the rest of the world.
Machiavelli also wrote how to govern dominions that are being occupied by people that live under
their own laws and values. His first edict reflects the Bush Administration s actions and decisions
on how to spread democracy in Iraq:
When those states which have been acquired are accustomed to live at liberty under their own
laws, there are three ways of holding them. The first is to despoil them; the second is to go and

The Importance Of Creationism In Schools
Creationism does not explain how the earth was created, therefore it should not be taught as a
science and should not be taught in schools. My thesis is important, because schools are trying to
stop teaching evolution because they believe it is not the way life on earth started. The teaching
of evolution in schools is important, because it teaches students the correct reason for how life on
earth started. The articles that I collected for my research, where academic journals from the
library data base and had a stand point towards science. My paper will give the reader a broader
view point on why creationismshould not be taught in schools and how evolutionshould remain in
schools.
Creationism has been a controversial topic in our school systems and schools in some states are
fighting to have it taught instead of evolution as a science. Creationism is the belief that all living
organisms originated from a biblical process instead of evolution. We will never really know how
the earth was created, but by the use of science, we can get a better understanding of it. Therefore
creationism should not be taught as a science and should not be taught in school. The teachers are
the people that have to deal with this topic the most because of all the pressure they get from school
administrators, parents and the community. Some science teachers have been told not to teach
about evolution, but they did it nevertheless. One of the most famous cases was the

China never wanted foreigners any more than foreigners wanted China men, and on this
question I am with the Boxers every time. The Boxer is a patriot. He loves his country better

Rediscoveries In Rainbow s Rainbows End And Paperman
The most significant discoveries and rediscoveries provide individuals with challenging
obstacles allowing them to grow and find new perspectives. Not only do discoveries and
rediscoveries give individuals growth and change, they make them realise that an individual s
wellbeing is more important than self values. As life is precious and personal possessions can
be replaced. While many unplanned discoveries can be exciting and joyful, planned discoveries
and rediscoveries can lead to great success. They give individuals a chance to prepare for what it
is they are discovering. Discoveries can also stimulate new ideas that can expand an individual s
values and provide them with greater perspectives. In Jane Harrisons Australian play, Rainbow s...

According to S 9, the person who is appointed to be a director or the person who is appointed to
be an alternate director and is acting in that capacity, is a director of the company. (S9)
As we can see from the case, Peter Pansy, Fred Fuchsia and Marie Gold are directors of the
company, and Alison Astor who is appointed to fill a casual vacancy on the Board is also a
director; therefore, they all owe duties. As the executive directors appointed a skilled person to

meetings. As one of the minimum standards of care, skill, diligence proposed by the NSW court
of Appeal stated, the directors need to contribute a certain time and effort to the company and
attend board meetings regularly. As we can see from this case, Alison Astor did not exercise the
required degree of diligence by failing to attend board meetings, so he had breached his duty of care.
Part 2: Whether the directors are in breach of their duty to avoid insolvent trading.

that incurs a debt and is insolvent or becomes insolvent by the debt should have reasonable grounds

Gambling Addiction In Molly Brodak s Bandit
Gambling addiction, particularly is easy to start; it requires no elaborate or illegal activities, no
troublesome ingestion of substances, and it programs the body using its own chemicals (Brodak

with a father who is addicted to gambling. Molly, her sister, and mother struggle to overcome the
challenges that come along with having a man in their life who loses everything for them. Not only
does this gambling addictionthat Joseph suffers from harm his life financially but also emotionally.
Addiction can alter the mind in many ways and change a person s outlook on the life ahead of
them. In the story, Bandit we meet a father who impacts the life of his family for the worse
because of his gambling addiction, also known as ludomania. This extreme obsession can have a
variation of effects to different people. It could be an influence of a mental health issue like,
anxiety or depression. Not only does this type of addiction change a person mentally, but also the
life and people around them. The word addiction itself can bring along the idea that it has to be a
drug or alcohol. Addiction can be to anything really. It could be drugs, alcohol, eating, stealing, and
in this case, gambling.
While Joseph did have to steal to fulfill his craving for gambling, he lost the trust he had with his
family. While trying to hide this side of his life from his family, his daughter, Molly found

Let s take football players, for instance. During the season many are told to bulk up or gain

are eating many more calories than necessary and are often eating the wrong foods. So after the
season is over the athletes have established bad habits and are carrying excess weight around. Now,
on the opposite side of the spectrum, many athletes are not eating enough. Their caloric intake is
too low for the amount of physical activity being partaken in. Sports that are known for having
problems with this are ballet, distance running, wrestling, cheerleading, and swimming. According

When athletes are not properly fueled they may become fatigued, and they are more prone to illness
and injury. This will most certainly affect their performance. But there is something we can do
about this. Matzkin says that anytime a young female athlete comes to her office with shin splits or
fractures, she now asks about nutrition and menstruation. We may be able to identify the root
cause of bone mineral density problems, she says, and patients can be helped early to chart a
new course in eating. It s not just about eating enough, Matzkin says. It s also about eating the
right things like fruits, vegetables, protein and foods rich in calcium and vitamin D. It s critical
to build bone when you can, she says, because there s literally a countdown to how long women
have to build strong bones. (Patti Neighmond) Neighmond in this radio show says that it is all
about what they eat. By not fueling their bodies properly these athletes are setting themselves up
for failure. Now looking at the opposite end of the spectrum. Listening to all of the football

Government Control In Aldous Huxley s Brave New World
Over the years, we have been enjoying the benefits of technology that it brings with it. But have we
ever thought how the same technology can be threatening if fallen in bad hands. One way this is
possible is by having government control over science. ¬¬The government can use technology
to monitor our activities and personal life. A simple democratic governmentcan become an extreme
and abstract socialist by just using technologyand making laws that we might find helpful, but
indeed control us. В¬The Matrix, Brave New World, and The Village, do a good job of
prophesizing the impacts of government control of technology on the society. The control of
population can be the most impacted by government. Huxley in his book Brave New World
predict this behavior by including the concept of test tube babies produced at the Central London
Hatchery. In chapters 1 and 2, we get to know that every person is decanted from the hatchery by
scientific processes. There is no form of natural birth, and in fact, it s illegal. The number and kind
of humans produced is controlled by the government who gives the hatchery orders based on the
requirements. This is evident when the DHC speaks the predestinators send in figure from the

Trade barriers between Mexico, Canada, and the United States were mean to be broken down by the
American Free Trade Agreement which would create jobs as well as close the wagegap between the
United States and Mexico. Commondreams.org states that after NAFTA was cunstructed between
the two countries, Recession of 2008 worsened the downward trend, especially for Hispanics.
Mexico s U.S corn engulfed the Mexican market and by doing so, millions of jobs were lost

economy. Free trade is helpful because it lowers prices on high quality goods, grows the
economy, improves efficiency and innovation, drives competitiveness, and promotes fairness. I
strongly feel as if free trade does more bad than good considering it causes people to lose jobs,
hurts the middle class, and creates economic chain reactions. Free trade currently has no impact on

The Profit Price Based Organizations
Profit Profit price based organizations are based around two main ideas one is target return and
the other is maximizing profit (From the expert: Price objectives or orientation. (n.d.).
Maximizing profit is a challenging aspect in business because the company needs to find a price
point at which customers are happy, while also maximizing returns and profit. The company that
comes to mind is Reliance Steel and Aluminum Co. Reliance is the largest metal service center in
the world and now is over a 10 billion dollar fortune 500 company. Reliance sells steel B2B on a
daily basis with the intention of maximizing profits. The pricingstrategy of discounting and
allowances for steel really depends on the market and the value of steel in the US and around the
world. Reliance has to have a very fluid pricing strategy in place to make adjustments depending on
the currently volatile steel market. There are certain customers that have loyalty to the Reliance
name and then there are others that shop solely based on priceand the lowest cost available.
Reliance prices their steel based on each individual account and the reason for that is to maximize
profit and return.

The War Of A War
War occurs almost everywhere in the world and can be seen as a means of symbolism and
patriotism. The Revolutionary War was fought in order to gain independence. That was the
meaning behind that war. However, why do societies go to war, other than to fight for
independence? Ever since the beginning of time war has been used as a means to invade
another country and rid them of their resources. Whether it s a war or just invasion, it is still a
means of bombarding a country or society without any rights. Regardless of the invasion and
the reason being, the people of the country being invaded are affected and so are the veterans
invading the country. Most people tend to ignore the internal struggles veterans face post war.
The civilians of a war zoned country are also majorly affected in ways many people fail to see
because of the lack of media coverage. Most veterans returning from a war struggle from post
traumatic stress disorder, individuals in societies are blind to the fact that these people are mentally
unstable because of the experience they go through. Most people will salute a veteranbecause in
America it is proper to respect those who served the country. These people aren t aware that some
of these individuals might not want to be reminded of their actions and some of them might not be
entirely proud of what they did at war. The civilians are also very much ignored because no one

Bioinformatics is the integration of computers and software tools to analyse information associated
with biomolecules on a large scale. Conventionally, biological study examines individual system in
detail and uses the data that is produced to frequently compare similar systems that are related.
However, bioinformaticsfacilitates scientists to study and conduct global analysis of all the
available data. This allows researchers, to uncover common principles that may be applied across
numerous systems, which results in different features to be highlighted (Luscombe , et al., 2001).
Due to the increased amount of research that has been conducted in association with genes and
proteins, computational methods such as bioinformatics has become ... Show more content on

Computational biology became popular during the 1970 s when the price of computers decreased
and they were easier to use and more readily available. Subsequently, this new technology was
introduced primarily to store and manage data that was produced through genomic research. This
then resulted in investigations to be completed in shorter amounts of time, which lead to larger
investigations, leading to more data being produced. Thus, bigger and better computers were
needed to manage the data that was generated. Hence, bioinformatics was used to create tools,
algorithms and databases, which enabled comprehensive management of data. Therefore, as more
and more data is being produced, the need for more powerful computers are needed in order to
manage the data. Furthermore, due to large amount of data being generated, larger databases are
required and more powerful tools are needed to manage and store the data.
The proteins play a key role in the biological function and their studies make possible to understand
the mechanisms that occur in many biological events. The human genome project enabled the
emergence of proteomics. Proteomics is the large scale study of proteins, particularly the functions
and structure of different proteins. The field of bioinformatics has had a significant effect in
proteomics, as it has introduced new algorithms to handle large and heterogeneous data sets.
Moreover, Bioinformatics has offered the

Flat Tax Pros And Cons
A flat tax system in the United States by definition refers to taxing household incomes at the
same rate regardless of income levels. Advocates of a flat tax system argue that it will simplify
U.S. tax codes and eliminate other taxes. Opponents of a flat tax system argue that it only benefits
wealthy individuals and would eliminate the IRS causing wide spread unemployment. Here are
some of the pros and cons of a flat taxsystem.
Flat Tax Pros
Promote Economic Growth Many advocates of flat taxes argue it will promote economic growth
and spur job creation. One argument is that many working Americans would work harder to
increase their incomes without fear of entering higher tax brackets.
Eliminate Additional Taxes The thinking is a flat

Movie Vs Play Analysis
I found the play to be far superior in comparison to the original film version as the movie s
writing glorified modern American consumerism. A post war financial boom brought a great
amount of advertising and promotion, and the movie was overflowing with blatant celebration
of products. The presence of sexism as well of the obvious lack of racially diverse main characters,
was a big problem for me in my terms of likability of the movie. The play was able to strip itself
of the gaudiness/lack of diversity and that left room for a brilliantly crafted sub plot with a well
rounded cast and smartly written script. As A Christmas Story appears to be set in the mid to late
1940 s, during what I must presume is post World War Two due to the lack

The movie had zero racial diversity as, any character of racial diversity was a non speaking
background character. That speaks volumes for films made in the 80 s though, as the film and
television industry s diversity in characters only really started to pick up in the 90 s with films
and shows such as, Clueless and The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. By having an African Nova
Scotian actor play a large speaking role such as, Ralphie s friend, Flick, the directors took notice
to today s queues of having a diverse and well rounded cast! I think it would have been very
awkward not to, as the need to teach this generation about diversity and equality for all is
extremely important. The writers also added a new strong and intelligent female lead, Esther
Jane! After looking at the IMDB page for the film, I noticed Esther Jane was not a character in
the film. Even if she was, I didn t notice her, at all. The women in Neptune production were an
important component to the story as they interacted with other main characters that, just never
happened in the movie version. Esther Jane, especially was a strong female character as only
being in grade 2, she already had a stance on politics and classic literature. She and her friend,
intimidated even the most terrifying school yard bully, Scott, and was respected by everyone in
the community. Ralphie s mother in the production reminded me of a young Jackie Kennedy
Onassis, not only by the way she was dressed, but by the way she carried herself. She was kind
and caring towards her family, well knowledgable and had a very low temper. The mother in the
movie version was also very kind and understanding but, it seemed she was not in control of
herself or her family. She was annoying and almost held down by her over confident husband. She
didn t stand up for herself in any

Analysis Of Henrik Ibsen s A Doll s Hose
A writer like Henrik Ibsen tended to stir up controversy on social issues such as marriage to
demonstrate the real life experiences for two people to stay truly in love. In A Doll s Hose,
Ibsen creates an illusion of the definition of a true marriage through the eyes of Nora and Torvald
Helmer, Kristine Linde and Nils Krogstad. Ultimately, the fate of these characters personalities
will unveil the true definition of a real marriage through Nora s forgery. Nora is introduced as a
housewife who believes the true meaning of marriage revolving around obedience. She
demonstrates the true definition of a respectful daughter, a faithful and obedient wife, and a
dependable mother. It wasn t unusual for Torvald to throw his weight around towards Nora. He
attempts to limit her macaroon intake Hasn t nibbled some pastry, (Ibsen 788) she replies, You
know I could never think of going against you (Ibsen 788). In the eyes of Nora, he is considered
a confident, powerful, and successful businessman since he is receiving a promotion as a bank
manager after the New Year. Torvald s sense of marriage can be summed up that he is the king
of the castle This is the way it should be my darling Nora. What ever comes, you ll see: when it
really counts, I have strength and courage enough as a man to take the whole weight myself
(Ibsen 814). Torvald s view is she is just a doll in his doll house. To him, it was important to stress
there was no such thing as equality in their partnership, he

The Comparison Between Miss Brill And Evelyn And Miss Austen The comparison between the protagonist Miss Brill and Evelyn: In the short story Miss Brill by Mansfield the protagonist is holding onto the past. She has delusions of what her life once was, and tries to look at the presence. However, in the short story Eveline, by Joyce, Eveline the protagonist is trying to hold onto the future and deny the past. Both characters, however, in the end, lose hold of their fantasies and have to face reality. Miss Brill learns of her delusion when she is out at the park listening to the band play music. She imagines herself as being young and desired. The writer Mayfield uses her fur as a symbolism of her beauty and youth. While Miss Brill is sitting at the park, she imagines a life where everyone is happy and joyous. She dreams that everyone is on stage performing. Unfortunately, a young couple comes and sits next to her and degrades her fur and disrespects her. This astonished behavior makes Miss Brill have to face reality. She realizes that she is not the young woman Miss Brill so wishes to hold onto, but the old lady that she fears to live. Miss Brill is so upset about this resolution that Miss Brill leaves the park and walks home skipping her routine of stopping at the bakery and getting her Sunday treat. She walks back to a place that she calls a cupboard. This symbolism is a dark and isolated room, expressing that a home Miss Brill is alone and sad. A VLAN stands for virtual local area network, which is a group of host computers/ networks / single user PCs or workstations (i.e. clients) that have a common set of requirements and are attached to the same domain (the server). The server provides clients with a set of shared services and helps clients to share access to the same database as well as to communicate with oen another. With their networked computers, Company LTET can communicate between its manufacturing plants in China and its assembly and distribution plants, as well as HQs and offices in the US. A VLAN is the answer for LTET in that it provides clustered architecturing of all the computers interconnected working together as a unified whole by being connected to one server. This allows for end station to be grouped together even if they are on different network switches. The cluster can have hundreds of machines linked together; they can add new systems as LTET expands; the failure of one node does not mean loss of service; and a cluster provides greater computing power at reduced cost when compared to cost and computing power of one separate machine. VLANS, too, are ideal for LTET not only in that they make transcription of information easier for them (by automating it) but also that they address the issues of information flow between the various sites whilst addressing security and network management, as well as insuring speedy access and retrieval of information all that is ... Our blue baseball caps rest next to us on the front seat of the truck. The boat is ready with equipment, supplies, and of course, our lunch for the day. Now, let s catch a fish...or two. Determining where the fish are biting is our first key to success. The water must be calm, clean, lukewarm, and an average depth of sixteen feet. There is a perfect spot we know about nestled around an island in a nearby lake. Before placing the boat into the water, the check to see if the oars are attached and ready for rowing. Go lightly with the Sevylor 12V trolling motor to the perfect spot using the depth finder. Drop the anchors slowly so that you do not scare the fish away. Before we begin to fish, we must first take care of a few items. Selecting a pole is next on deck and it is determined by many factors, including the type of material. Two types that I prefer are graphite and fiberglass. The combination makes a high quality, resistant, yet flexible, pole that gives just enough to fool the fish into thinking they are about to eat breakfast. The handle should be made of cork and should also be of a high quality, light material, allowing a comfortable grip. The right cork can also transmit the vibrations of the big bass nipping at the worm. You have selected the perfect pole, now it needs the precise reel to bring those fish in. There are many types of casting reels. My choice is the bait ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Edna s Transformation in The Awakening by Kate Chopin Essay The Awakening by Kate Chopin, is a story of a woman who breaks free from the restraints put on her by society. During the first part of the story, Edna was a normal wife and mother; she was restricted to her stereotype and expected to stay at home, be loyal to her husband, and care for her children. As the story progresses and Edna redefines herself, we eventually are reading about a new character entirely. She ignores the internalized concept of being a mother and wife and becomes a new woman. She cheats on her husband, disregards her children, and defies her societal expectations. At the end of the story, Edna Pontellier commits suicide to free herself from her confusing and scandalous life. During the first phase of Edna s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Edna becomes familiar with the idea that she needs to do something about herself so that she doesn t continue her colorless, stereotypical life; she has to drift away from her regular routine and disenthrall. As Edna awakens , her objective becomes more defined; she wants to escape and free herself. Chopin often subtly compares Edna to a bird throughout the story; In the very beginning of the book, Edna is compared to a caged bird: A green and yellow parrot, which hung in a cage outside the door, (5). It is obvious now, after reading the book, that Chopin knew exactly what would become of Edna. A caged bird, when freed, often dies because it is not familiar with the wild; this is exactly what happens to Edna Pontellier. Later in the story, Mademoiselle Reisz tells Edna The bird that would soar above the level plain of tradition and prejudice must have strong wings. It is a sad spectacle to see the weaklings bruised, exhausted, fluttering back to earth (138). This is a more definitive foreshadowing than the caged bird; when Edna dies, it s because she is unable to find the strength to swim back, she s weak. She pushed herself too far and led herself astray mentally and literally; if she had stayed in her cage and had confined herself to a simple, mundane life, she would never be lost. I especially wanted to find examples of many others that had to persevere to get through their own tough times. But when I originally started researching my topic I did not exactly have anything in mind about what I was exactly looking for. This was mainly due to that I had the ideas in my head but did not know how to put those in a way that I could deliver it for the whole class to understand. So as I began researching I focused on just using perseverance in school, like not giving up after not getting a concept the first time. But after looking through a few articles I found many examples of when perseverance was used in other ways, such as building things for society or ways in which one can be successful. This then broadened my perspective on perseverance and showed me the benefits of it. The Grit: the Power of Passion and Perseverance. Emerson labels the poet as the man of Beauty, which he believes has a superior calling. By bulking up during the season the players are eating many more calories than necessary and are often eating the wrong foods. So after the season is over the athletes have established bad habits and are carrying excess weight around. Now, on the opposite side of the spectrum, many athletes are not eating enough. Their caloric intake is too low for the amount of physical activity being partaken in. Sports that are known for having problems with this are ballet, distance running, wrestling, cheerleading, and swimming. When athletes are not properly fueled they may become fatigued, and they are more prone to illness and injury. This will most certainly affect their performance. But there is something we can do about this. Matzkin says that anytime a young female athlete comes to her office with shin splits or fractures, she now asks about nutrition and menstruation. We may be able to identify the root cause of bone mineral density problems, she says, and patients can be helped early to chart a new course in eating. It s not just about eating enough, Matzkin says. It s also about eating the right things like fruits, vegetables, protein and foods rich in calcium and vitamin D. It s critical to build bone when you can, she says, because there s literally a countdown to how long women have to build strong bones. (Patti Neighmond) Neighmond in this radio show says that it is all about what they eat. By not fueling their bodies properly these athletes are setting themselves up for failure. Now looking at the opposite end of the spectrum. Listening to all of the football players talk about bulking up for the season always makes me wonder: How could that possibly be good for you? • 33. Government Control In Aldous Huxley s Brave New World Over the years, we have been enjoying the benefits of technology that it brings with it. But have we ever thought how the same technology can be threatening if fallen in bad hands. One way this is possible is by having government control over science. ¬¬The government can use technology to monitor our activities and personal life. A simple democratic governmentcan become an extreme and abstract socialist by just using technologyand making laws that we might find helpful, but indeed control us. В¬The Matrix, Brave New World, and The Village, do a good job of prophesizing the impacts of government control of technology on the society. The control of population can be the most impacted by government. Huxley in his book Brave New World predict this behavior by including the concept of test tube babies produced at the Central London Hatchery. In chapters 1 and 2, we get to know that every person is decanted from the hatchery by scientific processes. There is no form of natural birth, and in fact, it s illegal. The number and kind of humans produced is controlled by the government who gives the hatchery orders based on the requirements. The Profit Price Based Organizations Profit Profit price based organizations are based around two main ideas one is target return and the other is maximizing profit (From the expert: Price objectives or orientation. (n.d.). Maximizing profit is a challenging aspect in business because the company needs to find a price point at which customers are happy, while also maximizing returns and profit. The company that comes to mind is Reliance Steel and Aluminum Co. Reliance is the largest metal service center in the world and now is over a 10 billion dollar fortune 500 company. Reliance sells steel B2B on a daily basis with the intention of maximizing profits. The pricingstrategy of discounting and allowances for steel really depends on the market and the value of steel in the US and around the world. Reliance has to have a very fluid pricing strategy in place to make adjustments depending on the currently volatile steel market. There are certain customers that have loyalty to the Reliance name and then there are others that shop solely based on priceand the lowest cost available. Reliance prices their steel based on each individual account and the reason for that is to maximize profit and return. Sales Organizations which utilize a sales orientation to set pricing are trying to increase revenue through an increase in the number sales of their offerings (Grewal, 2014, p. 429). That was the meaning behind that war. However, why do societies go to war, other than to fight for independence? Ever since the beginning of time war has been used as a means to invade another country and rid them of their resources. Whether it s a war or just invasion, it is still a means of bombarding a country or society without any rights. Regardless of the invasion and the reason being, the people of the country being invaded are affected and so are the veterans invading the country. Most people tend to ignore the internal struggles veterans face post war. The civilians of a war zoned country are also majorly affected in ways many people fail to see because of the lack of media coverage. Most veterans returning from a war struggle from post traumatic stress disorder, individuals in societies are blind to the fact that these people are mentally unstable because of the experience they go through. Most people will salute a veteranbecause in America it is proper to respect those who served the country. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Computational biology became popular during the 1970 s when the price of computers decreased and they were easier to use and more readily available. Subsequently, this new technology was introduced primarily to store and manage data that was produced through genomic research. This then resulted in investigations to be completed in shorter amounts of time, which lead to larger investigations, leading to more data being produced. Thus, bigger and better computers were needed to manage the data that was generated. Hence, bioinformatics was used to create tools, algorithms and databases, which enabled comprehensive management of data. Therefore, as more and more data is being produced, the need for more powerful computers are needed in order to manage the data. Furthermore, due to large amount of data being generated, larger databases are required and more powerful tools are needed to manage and store the data.
