LSC SOFTBALL
Angelo State and Texas A&M-Commerce hold the top spots in the Lone Star Conference standings at 11-1 and 10-2,
respectively.
League contests continue this week along with non-conference contests.
LSC teams are playing a single round-robin schedule with a three-game series against each league opponent. The
overall LSC Champion will be the team(s) with the best winning percentage in regular-season conference games, while
the winner of the postseason championship will be recognized as LSC Tournament Champion and receive the league’s
automatic qualification into NCAA postseason. The single-elimination championship featuring the top six teams will be
played May 4-5, at the No. 1 seed.
LSC softball teams are 184-124 overall this season. In the NCAA South Central Region, the group is currently 33-9
combined versus Heartland Conference teams and 24-15 against the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
HITTER
Mariah Jameyson, Texas A&M University-Commerce, SR, Catcher, Seattle, Wash., Hale HS
Jameyson had another outstanding week for the Lions, hitting .650 in seven victories, six of which the Lions won by run-
rule. She had a .692 on base percentage and she slugged 1.450 with 13 hits, four homers and 18 RBIs. She had a home
run and three RBIs in the No. 11 Lions' first win over Missouri Western State. She had an RBI single and an RBI double in
the second game of that series. She then had two hits, including a three-run homer in the first game against St.
Edward's. She then had four hits in the second game, all of which scored runs. She had two home runs in one inning,
including a grand slam and drove in eight runs in that game. She had two hits in the first and second game against UT
Permian Basin and scored two more runs in the final game of the series. Jameyson leads the nation in RBIs, is fourth in
home runs and fifth in slugging percentage.
PITCHER
Megan Rosewell, Tarleton State University, SR, RHP, Fort Worth, Texas, FW Christian HS
Rosewell was fantastic from the pitching circle in two starts against Northeastern State and Texas A&M-Kingsville. The
senior right-hander started her week with a five-inning, complete-game shutout of Northeastern State on Tuesday. She
continued her dominance by overcoming two unearned runs in the first inning of game two at Kingsville to shut out the
Javelinas over the next seven innings en route to an extra inning win. She threw 13.0 innings in two games with a 0.00
ERA and allowed nine hits and two walks while striking out five to improve to 6-0 for the season.

OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Erikka Burke, Eastern New Mexico University, batted an incredible .714 with an .833 on-base percentage in three
games against Texas Woman's. In the series opener, she registered her 31st career homer and matched team records
with three walks and two intentional walks. For the series, Burke was intentionally walked three times, which brought
her career total to six, just one away from the team record.
Carolyn Castillo, Western New Mexico, went 3-for-5 with two home runs, eight RBI and three runs scored in the
doubleheader split against Embry Riddle. In the game two win, Castillo single handedly led the Lady Mustangs to victory
hitting a three-run homer in the first inning and then hitting a walk-off grand slam in the sixth. She posted a .600 batting
average, .750 on-base percentage and a 2.000 slugging percentage, as she also drew two walks, didn't have a strikeout
and posted a double.
Jade Strother, Angelo State University, led the Rambelles to a 3-2 record against South Central Regional rival St.
Mary's and LSC rival No. 15 West Texas A&M. She led the team in average (.533), hits (8), on-base percentage (.563) and
slugging percentage (.600). She scored the game-winning run to clinch the series against West Texas A&M on Saturday.
Tylia Sylestine, Texas Woman's University, guided the Pioneers to their first LSC sweep of the season in a 3-0 series
win at Eastern New Mexico. Against the Greyhounds, the junior totaled four hits that included a home run and a double.
Throughout the week, Sylestine recorded a pair of homers, three doubles, eight runs, five RBI, a 1.000 slugging
percentage and also took six walks.
Ashley Hardin, West Texas A&M University, continued to roll for the No. 15 Lady Buffs as the senior made history
this past week to become the Lone Star Conference all-time career homerun leader. The Flower Mound, Texas product
hit .435 on the week with four doubles and four homeruns to drive in six RBI with 26 total bases from the leadoff spot
for an incredible 1.130 slugging percentage. Hardin became the all-time LSC leader in long balls on Tuesday afternoon as
she homered three times at Colorado Christian to tie a league single-game mark while driving in four RBI to snap CCU's
17-game win streak in a 12-6 decision.
3. Georgia Capell, Tarleton State University, hit .412 to lead the TexAnns to five road wins at Northeastern State and
Texas A&M-Kingsville. The freshman from Midlothian scored a team-high seven runs and drove in a team-high seven
RBI, including a clutch RBI single with two outs in the top of the seventh of game two against Texas A&M-Kingsville to tie
the game and force extra innings. Tarleton would go on to win 3-2 in eight innings. For the week, she had three extra-
base hits and two sacrifice flies.
Amanda Thomas, Midwestern State University, sparked the Mustangs this past weekend to a series win over
Cameron. Offensively, she hit at a .300 clip and drove home the go-ahead run in the top of the sixth in game two to lift
MSU to victory. Defensively, she was stellar behind the plate. In the series opener, the Marble Falls native threw out
three baserunners trying to steal and followed that up with two more caught-stealings in game two of the series.
Riley Adams, Midwestern State University, shined in the circle in the Mustangs' 3-1 game two win on Saturday
against Cameron, tossing a complete game with no earned runs to earn the victory. The right-hander stranded 13
runners on base, scattering eight hits and four walks on 136 pitches. Additionally, Adams held the Aggies to a .214 (3-
for-14) average with runners in scoring position.
Katie Dean, Texas A&M University-Commerce, was the Lions' ace last week, pitching in four games with an ERA of
0.86. She won three games and pitched two complete games with one shutout. She gave up just one extra base hit and
held batters to just a .200 average at the plate. She pitched 1.1 innings against Missouri Western, giving up one run. She
then pitched five innings for the win against St. Edward's on Wednesday, giving up just two hits in the shutout. She then
pitched two complete games against UT Permian Basin, winning both. She had three strikeouts in the first game and
seven in the second with the shutout. She now has 10 wins on the year and is holding hitters to a .218 average.
Morgan Hill, Angelo State University, helped the Rambelles to a series-opening win against No. 15 West Texas A&M.
The senior went 1-1 last week with 18.1 innings pitched. She struck out 12 in three appearances and only allowed nine
total runs.
Lyana Waddell, Western New Mexico, tossed a complete game win in the circle against Embry Riddle as she limited
the Eagles to just three runs in six innings, along with a pair of strikeouts.

Eastern New Mexico
The Greyhounds pounded out four home runs against Texas Woman's last weekend. The team's total of 30 homers for
the season ties for seventh (2010) on the ENMU single-season list. Senior Erikka Burke bashed her 31st homer of her
career, to move within just two of the team record. She also matched team records in the series opener, with three
overall walks and two intentional walks. The first day of the series saw ENMU come within one run of the Pioneers in
both games. In the finale, ENMU used a two-run blast from Kiana Zerr and a grand slam from Ashley Lopez to trim an
eight-run, seventh inning deficit down to two runs. This week, the Hounds host Lubbock Christian before visiting UT
Permian Basin.
Midwestern State
The Midwestern State softball team won its Red River Rivalry series with Cameron this past weekend. The Mustangs
took a 3-2 win in the opener with reliever Abbie Lancaster becoming the single-season save leader. Starting pitcher Riley
4. Adams held the Aggies in check in game two, firing a complete game in the 3-1 win. Cameron won the series-finale 8-0.
MSU returns to the diamond on Tuesday against Northwestern Oklahoma State on the road.
Tarleton State
Tarleton won five straight road games over spring break with sweeps at Northeastern State and Texas A&M-Kingsville.
The TexAnns will return home for six games this week.
Texas A&M-Commerce
The No. 11 Lions went 7-0 last week, bringing their winning streak to nine games in a row. They swept series against
Missouri Western State and UT Permian Basin at home as well as a doubleheader against St. Edward's on the road. The
Lions lead the LSC in both runs and on-base percentage. They host Texas A&M-Kingsville in three games this weekend.

Texas Woman’s
TWU split a pair of two-game series against Missouri Western and St. Mary's last week before earning their first LSC
sweep of the season by going 3-0 at Eastern New Mexico.
UT Permian Basin
UT Permian Basin softball went 0-3 on the road this weekend at #11 Texas A&M-Commerce. Senior Adrianna Berzoza
led the offense with an .875 batting average, going 7-8 at the plate with a home run, four RBI, and a pair of runs scored.
West Texas A&M
The No. 15 Lady Buffs went 4-2 this past week to move to 23-5 overall with a 6-3 mark in Lone Star Conference play. WT
hit .339 as a team with seven doubles, one triple and an incredible 16 homeruns to drive in 42 RBI with 117 total bases
for a team slugging percentage of .661. The Lady Buffs hit the road this weekend for Lone Star Conference action as
they head to Wichita Falls, Texas to take on the rival Mustangs of Midwestern State in a three-game series starting on
Friday night at 7 p.m. at Mustang Park.
Western New Mexico
WNMU nearly pulled off a sweep of Embry Riddle (Ariz.), but the Eagles held on for a 6-5 extra inning win in game one
before the Lady Mustangs gained a split with a run-rule 12-3 victory. WNMU hit .367 as a team, with three home runs,
five doubles and 17 RBI. Carolyn Castillo powered the offense with two home runs, a double and eight RBI while hitting
.600. Mariangela Garcia added a .571 average with three RBI, Grisdey Paredes-Alvarez hit .500 with a home run and
three RBI, including the game-tying two-run homer in the first game to send it into extra innings. Clarissa Moreno also
hit .500 with a double and RBI. Lyana Waddell picked up her second win of the season in the game two complete game
victory. Castillo went 3-for-5 with two home runs, eight RBI and three runs scored in the doubleheader split against
Embry Riddle. In the game two win, Castillo single handedly led the Lady Mustangs to victory hitting a three-run homer
in the first inning and then hitting a walk-off grand slam in the sixth. She posted a .600 batting average, .750 on-base
percentage and a 2.000 slugging percentage, as she also drew two walks, didn't have a strikeout and posted a double.
