PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
HITTER
Roxy Chapa, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, JR, Catcher, McAllen, Texas, Sharyland
During a week that included a doubleheader sweep for the Javelinas over No. 11 West Texas A&M, Roxy Chapa broke
the program record for home runs in a season and posted a slugging percentage of .823. She began the week by drilling
a two-run homer on Tuesday against St. Mary's and followed that on Friday with another long ball against the Lady
Buffs. That homer, her 11th of the season, tied the program record for most home runs in a season. The very next day,
Chapa broke that record with a fourth-inning, go-ahead blast that helped lead the Javelinas to the front end of their
doubleheader sweep.
PITCHER
Brandy Marlett, Angelo State University, SR, P, Henderson, Nevada, Rancho
Marlett had a hand in all three of the No. 6 Rambelles sweep of No. 14 Texas A&M-Commerce in Commerce. The senior
went 2-0 with a save and one complete game shutout. She opened the series with a complete game five hit shutout and
returned in the second game of a doubleheader for a save to clinch the series. She pitched the final game to complete
the sweep for ASU. She only allowed two runs in 12.2 innings and scattered 11 hits. The Henderson native struck out 20
batters and limited the potent Lion offense to a .234 average.

OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Brenna Busby, Cameron University, led the Aggie softball team to a three game sweep of Western New Mexico this
past weekend. She did most of her damage in the first two games, going 3-4 with three runs scored and four RBI, and a
homer in the 13-0 game one win, and going 2-2 with four runs scored, four RBI, and two homers in the 16-0 game two
victory. She finished the weekend batting .625 with eight runs scored, eigth RBI, and three homers. Busby also went 3-3
on the base paths and had a 1.000 fielding percentage with six assists and six out outs. She currently ranks in the top-10
in the LSC in both home runs and stolen bases.
Megan Durante, Tarleton State University, was a catalyst for the TexAnn offense in a road sweep of Midwestern
State last weekend. The senior first baseman hit .600 with two doubles, two home runs, five runs scored, and four RBI.
In the first game, Durante teed off for her second career two-homer game. She got the TexAnns on the board with a
two-run shot in the first inning and followed up with a solo shot in the seventh to help the TexAnns expand their lead. In
the second game, it was Durante who got the offense rolling once again with an RBI single in the first. In the series
finale, Durante doubled and scored the go-ahead run in the top of the fourth inning to lead the TexAnns to a sweep. In
addition to her work at the plate, Durante worked a flawless first base with 22 putouts, an assist, and a 1.000 fielding
percentage.
3. Tylia Sylestine, Texas Woman's University, guided the Pioneers to a 3-0 sweep at UT Permian Basin. The senior
notched a pair of home runs and two doubles with four RBI with an impressive 1.444 slugging percentage against the
Falcons. Sylestine provided a game-high three hits that included a homer, in game one during the 10-2 TWU victory.
Kinsie Hebler, Texas A&M University-Commerce, Hebler had a double in the first game of the series against ASU. She
then had two hits in the second game, including a two-run home run. She also had a single in the final game of the
series.
Bethany Hines, Cameron University, was her usual dominant self in Cameron's three game sweep of Western New
Mexico last weekend. The sophomore started the second game, pitching a five -inning complete game shutout, giving up
just three hits, while walking one and striking out two. She then came in to pitch in relief in the series finale with her
team up one, a runner on base and one out in the inning. Hines then struck out the next two batters on filthy changeups
to secure the win for CU and her second save of the year.
Raegyn Parrish, Texas Woman's University, pitched her first career shutout in a 4-0 win at UT Permian Basin Friday.
In seven innings, the freshman allowed just four hits and held the Falcons to a .163 hitting percentage. Parrish also had a
pair of firsts at the plate as she recorded her first hits at TWU that included a double in the Pioneer win.
Megan Rosewell, Tarleton State University, was fantastic in the circle for Tarleton as she went 2-0 in 11.0 innings of
work, including 4.0 out of the bullpen on Sunday to help lead the TexAnns to a comeback win over the Mustangs to
complete the sweep. She started her week with a game-two start in which she went the distance, allowing two runs -
only one earned - with three strikeouts. She boasted a 0.64 ERA for the week.
