LSC VOLLEYBALL
Angelo State went 3-1 the Colorado Premier Tournament to finish in third place and achieve its highest AVCA ranking in
program history at No. 5. Tarleton State finished fourth at the event with a win over No. 15 Central Missouri.
Lone Star Conference action starts this week, with on game Tuesday and five LSC contests on Friday and Saturday.
LSC volleyball teams are 40-47 overall this season. The squads are currently 15-16 combined versus Rocky Mountain
Athletic Conference teams, and 3-4 against the Heartland Conference, which are the other leagues in the NCAA South
Central Region.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
Sundara Chinn, Angelo State University, SO, Houston, Texas, Bellaire
Chinn was selected to the Colorado Premier Tournament all-tournament team and was a major role player in the Belles
offensive onslaught this week in wins over Adams State, Florida Southern, MSU Denver, and Tarleton State. The
newcomer has been a major asset to ASU not only assisting the team to a third place finish in the tournament, but also
helping it to achieve its highest ranking in program history at No. 5. The right side hitter tallied 55 total kills over the
week averaging her 3.44 kills per set and a .301 clip. She set a pair of career highs firing in 19 kills and digging five balls
against No. 2 ranked Concordia-St. Paul. Defensively, she also recorded a team second 13 total blocks for the week.
DEFENSIVE
Morgan Seaton, Angelo State University, SR, Big Spring, Texas, Big Spring
Seaton, who helped the No. 5 Belles to finish third overall at the Colorado Premier Tournament, anchored the team's
stout defense in victories over Adams State, Florida Southern, MSU Denver, and Tarleton State. The senior headed ASU
with 18 total blocks, which includes three solos. This included a season high eight-block performance against MSU
Denver on day one of the tournament. In addition, she added 15 total digs to her numbers from the middle blocker
position, a season high six of those coming in the match against Tarleton. The Big Spring native also assisted the
offensive attack with three service aces and 26 kills for the week, averaging 1.62 kills per set.
SETTER
Meghan Parker, Angelo State University, SO, San Antonio, Texas, Johnson
Working in a 6-2 offense, Parker served up a Belles offense that hit .268 for the week against some of the nation's top
teams. Totaling 141 assists for the week at a rate of 8.81 assists per set, the sophomore set a season high 43 assists
2. against No.2 Concordia - St. Paul. This performance also included 11 digs, which marked her first double-double of the
season. The setter also turned in four aces for the week in sweeps of Adams State, Florida Southern, MSU Denver, and
Tarleton State.

OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Kalie Lyle, Western New Mexico, went off for 62 kills, averaging 4.43 kills per set in the four matches at the
Westminster Invitational and was named to the All-Tournament team. Lyle's 28 kills versus Malone is the most kills for a
Lone Star Conference player this season and she hit .354 for the match. She posted double-digit kills in two of the other
matches tallying 16 against Westminster and 14 versus Harding. For the week, she also added three assists, 19 digs and
three blocks.
Hailey Roberts, Tarleton State University, landed 68 kills for the TexAnns and had three double-doubles in Tarleton's
four-match display at the Colorado Premier Challenge. The senior from Cedar Park led Tarleton with a 20-kill, 15-dig
performance in Tarleton's win over No. 16 Central Missouri and followed up Saturday with a 21-kill, 11-dig effort against
No. 2 Southwest Minnesota State. She also had four service aces, 54 digs, two blocks, and 73.0 total points while leading
the TexAnns to a fourth-place finish at the Colorado Premier Challenge.
Addison Semer, Midwestern State University, put together a career weekend to lead Midwestern State to a 3-0
record at the Hilltopper Classic. The Bastrop native hit .389 for 43 kills (3.31/set) to lead all players and earn tournament
MVP honors. In the tourney opener, Semer set a career-high 16 kills in a come-from-behind five-set victory over Black
Hills State (S.D.) Friday. She followed up that performance with 13 kills while tying for the fifth-most blocks in program
history with nine against host St. Edward's to conclude Friday's action. Semer closed out the weekend with her third-
straight double-figure kill performance with 14 while committing just one error in 28 swings for a season-high .464
hitting clip.
Layne Little, Texas A&M University-Commerce, led the Lions in kills last week, averaging 11.5 kills per match. She
had double-digit kills in three of the Lions four matches. She had 11 in the Lions' loss to Wayne State. She also had 11 in
their five-set loss to Colorado Mines and a team-high 16 kills in their five set loss to UCCS. Little also had an impact on
the defensive end. She had nine blocks and recorded 30 digs.
Sarah Vasquez, UT Permian Basin, was named the co-outstanding defensive player of the Hilltopper Classic, leading
the Falcons with 6 digs per set. She now ranks second in the conference averaging 5.37 digs per match on the season.
Bailey French, Texas Woman's University, anchored the back row for the Pioneers at the Chap Classic on the way to
the first two TWU victories on the season. The sophomore tallied game-highs in digs in three of the four matches, and
set a career-high with 26 against Southwestern Oklahoma State before upping the number to 29 against Colorado Mesa.
For her efforts, French was named to the Chap Class All-Tournament Team.
3. Ashley Mataele, Western New Mexico, was strong on the back row with 61 digs, averaging 4.07 per set. She had at
least 10 digs in every match, going for a high of 20 versus Westminster. She also had 18 assists and a service ace.
Adrianna Knutson, Tarleton State University, totaled 64 digs and averaged 4.0 digs per set to help Tarleton to a
fourth-place finish at the Colorado Premier Challenge last weekend. The junior libero also boasted a .986 serve-receive
percentage against the nation's top teams.
Addison Semer, Midwestern State University, put together a career weekend to earn Hilltopper Classic MVP honors
and lead Midwestern State to a 3-0 record. The Bastrop native totaled 18 blocks (1.38/set) on the weekend, tying for the
fifth most in program history with nine blocks against host St. Edward's in a 3-1 win Friday. Her presence at the net
limited the opposition to a .162 hitting percentage. Semer was also a force on the offensive end, leading all players at
the tournament with 43 kills (3.31/set) and a .389 hitting percentage. She opened up the weekend with a career-best 16
kills in a come-from-behind five-set win over Black Hills State (S.D.) while adding 13 kills to her nine blocks in the victory
over St. Edward's. She closed out the tournament with 14 kills in a four-set win over Southern Arkansas, committing just
one error in 28 swings to finish with a season-best .464 hitting percentage.
Jaslyn Wacker, Texas A&M University-Commerce, had 20 blocks in her four matches last week for the Lions,
averaging five blocks per match. She led the team, averaging more than 1.1 blocks per set. She also performed well on
the offensive end, recording 39 kills with a hitting percentage of .372.
Katy Ranes, Texas Woman's University, directed the Pioneers to their first two wins on the year. The sophomore
broke the 50-set barrier twice and handed out a game-high 29 assists against Lubbock Christian in a 3-0 TWU sweep.
Ranes posted the first two double-doubles of her career at the Chap Classic while also recording six aces, six kills and five
blocks.
Jordyn Keamo, Tarleton State University, led Tarleton to its third win of the season against a nationally-ranked
opponent and to a fourth-place finish at the Colorado Premier Challenge. The senior setter dished out 147 assists for an
average of 9.19 assists per set and had three double-doubles, including two against nationally-ranked opponents. Keamo
dished out a season-high 51 assists to lead the TexAnns over No. 16 Central Missouri. For the week, she also totaled
seven kills, five aces, 40 digs, five blocks, and 14.5 points.
Cristal Carrizoza, Western New Mexico, led the Lady Mustangs with 79 assists, averaging 5.64 per set. She had at
least 10 assists in every match, going over 20 twice with a high of 29 against Malone. She also had two service aces,
three kills and 29 digs.
Gabriela Rosa, Texas A&M University-Commerce, led the team with 93 assists, including three matches with at least
24 assists. She averaged nearly 5.5 assists per set.

Angelo State
Angelo State, with a current record of 8-1, climbed to a program high in the ACVA polls this week as it checked in at No.
5. This came on the coat tails of a third place finish at the Colorado Premier Tournament and a 4-1 overall record for the
week, in which all four wins were sweeps. The Belles only loss of the week and the season came at the hands of No.2
ranked Concordia-St. Paul. ASU will continue its road tour and open up conference play this coming week at Texas A&M-
Commerce on Friday, September 15 and Texas Woman's on Saturday, September 16.

Tarleton State
Tarleton competed in arguably its toughest stretch of games in program history as the TexAnns finished fourth at the
Colorado Premier Challenge. The TexAnns won their third game of the season over a nationally-ranked opponent by
upending No. 16 Central Missouri and competing against Regis, No. 2 Southwest Minnesota State, and No. 6 Angelo
State. The TexAnns will return to action Thursday at 6 p.m. at Dallas Baptist.
Texas A&M-Commerce
The Lions went 1-3 last week, sweeping Colorado State Pueblo. They fell to No. 12 Wayne State in four sets and lost five-
set matches to both No. 22 Colorado Mines and Colorado Pueblo. The team will have their home opener on Tuesday
against Dallas Baptist and then host Tarleton State and Angelo State in their first week of conference action over the
weekend.
Texas A&M-Kingsville
3-3 last week.
Texas Woman’s
The Pioneers picked up their first wins of the season with a sweep of Lubbock Christian and a four-set victory over
Colorado Christian at the Chap Classic hosted by LCU. TWU dropped a pair of five-set matches to Southwestern
Oklahoma State and Colorado Mesa in the tournament as well.
UT Permian Basin
UT Permian Basin volleyball went 1-2 at the 2017 Hilltopper Classic, winning 3-0 over Southern Arkansas and falling 2-3
against Black Hills State and 1-3 to host St. Edward's. Sarah Vasquez was named co-outstanding defensive player, leading
UTPB with six digs per set. The Falcons come home for the first time this season, hosting Lubbock Christian before a pair
of conference matches against Cameron and Midwestern State.
West Texas A&M
The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M went 1-3 this past weekend during the Lindenwood Last Second Challenge in St.
Charles, Missouri as they fell to Missouri-St. Louis, Illinois-Springfield and Truman State while picking up a four-set win
over Missouri Western. The Lady Buffs return to the WTAMU Fieldhouse ""The Box"" on Friday as they begin Lone Star
Conference action against Midwestern State with first serve set for 12 p.m. followed by a matchup with #5 Nebraska-
Kearney at 6 p.m.
Western New Mexico
WNMU came close at the Westminster Invitational as they went four sets against Westminster and then a tough five-set
matchup versus Malone. Outside of big weekends from Kalie Lyle, Cristal Carrizoza and Ashley Mataele, Hannah
Tishlarich posted 12 blocks, Alanna Watt had 36 kills and Sophia Mitchell dished out 51 assists. Lyle went off for 62 kills,
averaging 4.43 kills per set in the four matches at the Westminster Invitational. Lyle's 28 kills versus Malone is the most
kills for a Lone Star Conference player this season and she hit .354 for the match. She posted double-digit kills in two of
the other matches tallying 16 against Westminster and 14 versus Harding. For the week, she also added three assists, 19
