LSC SOFTBALL
Angelo State, who has won 19 straight games, tops the Lone Star Conference standings at 6-0 in league action after
three weeks of play. Texas A&M-Kingsville also boasts a double-digit winning streak with 10 consecutive victories.
League games continue this week along with non-conference contests.
LSC teams are playing a single round-robin schedule with a three-game series against each league opponent. The
overall LSC Champion will be the team(s) with the best winning percentage in regular-season conference games, while
the winner of the postseason championship will be recognized as LSC Tournament Champion and receive the league’s
automatic qualification into NCAA postseason. The single-elimination championship featuring the top six teams will be
played May 4-5, at the No. 1 seed.
LSC softball teams are 131-79 overall this season. In the NCAA South Central Region, the group is currently 28-4
combined versus Heartland Conference teams and 21-13 against the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
HITTER
Mariah Jameyson, Texas A&M University-Commerce, SR, Catcher, Seattle, Wash., Hale HS
After one of the most historic weeks in Lion Softball history last week, Jameyson managed to improve her numbers this
week against a nationally ranked opponent. She increased her batting average, on-base percentage and hit total against
the No. 18 Cameron Aggies. She hit .875 with a .923 on-base percentage and a 2.125 slugging percentage. She reached
base 12 of 13 times, drawing five walks to go with her seven hits, and had three home runs and nine RBIs. She hit a
three-run homer in the first game of the series and also had a 2 RBI-single in the 10th inning that gave the No. 21 Lions
the extra-inning 8-6 win on Friday. She had another three-run home run, a double and a solo home run in the second
game of the series, driving in four runs in the Lions' 11-3 win. She then reached base in all three plate appearances in the
third game of the series with two singles and a walk. Jameyson leads all of Division II in RBIs (35) and is in the top 20 in
the nation in batting average (.551), on-base percentage (.641), slugging percentage (1.102) and total bases (54). She
leads the LSC in RBIs, batting average and on-base percentage. In her last 25 plate appearances, Jameyson has 11 runs
scored, 13 hits, seven home runs, 21 RBIs, 35 total bases and nine walks. She has reached on 23 of her last 25 plate
appearances with a .920 on-base percentage and a 2.333 slugging percentage.
PITCHER
Katie Dean, Texas A&M University-Commerce, JR, Pitcher, Whitesboro, Texaw, Whitesboro HS
2. Dean was a tough pitcher to handle for opposing batters last week, holding hitters to a .130 average. She went 2-0 last
week for the No. 21 Lions in their series against No. 18 Cameron. She gave up just three hits in 7.0 innings pitched. She
pitched four innings in relief in the Lions' 8-6 10-inning game on Friday, giving up just one hit with two strikeouts while
earning the win. She also pitched three innings in the Lions' 11-3 win on Saturday against Cameron, giving up just two
hits with three strikeouts.

Jordan Kisselburg, Texas Woman's University, in TWU's 4-0 sweep at Western New Mexico, tied a Lone Star
Conference and Pioneer single game record with five hits in the final game of the series. During game two, the junior
tallied four hits along with five RBI that included a two-run homer. Throughout the series, Kisselburg was unbelievably
efficient at the plate by gathering a hit on 12 occasions in 16 at-bats for a .750 average. Throughout the four games, she
also compiled 11 RBI, seven runs, and three home runs.
Elena Garcia, Eastern New Mexico University, registered a huge week for the Greyhounds, as they posted the first
season sweep of Midwestern State in program history. The freshman third baseman paced Eastern in hits (5), average
(.625), on-base percentage (.727) and slugging percentage (1.500). She registered two game-winning hits on the first day
of the series. In the opener, her fifth-inning, three-run homer marked the final time ENMU scored in a 7-6 win. Garcia
also had a seventh-inning walk-off single in the nightcap. Her two-run blast in the series finale staked the Hounds to a 2-
0 lead on the way to an 11-7 win. In 10 opportunities, Garcia posted a .900 fielding percentage for the weekend.
Loren Kelly, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, helped the Javelinas to victories in all five of her team's games over the
last week, pushing TAMUK's win streak to 10. She picked up at least one hit in every contest, stretching her hit streak to
13 straight and scored at least one run in all five wins, totaling seven for the week. Kelly has also stolen a base in four
straight games. In her team's three-game sweep of UT Permian Basin, Kelly totaled eight safeties in 11 trips the plate,
including an inside-the-park home run out of the lead-off spot in the
Georgia Capell, Tarleton State University, was on fire at the plate against No. 9 West Texas A&M in Canyon. The
freshman hit .583 in three games, going 7-12 at the dish with six runs scored and five RBI. Of her seven hits, five went for
extra bases as she blasted two doubles and three home runs for a 1.500 slugging percentage. Capell had two home runs
in the series finale, including a game-tying home run in the top of the seventh.
Amanda Thomas, Midwestern State University, paced the MSU offense, hitting at a .500 clip on the weekend. The
Marble Falls product collected six RBI, including a three-run dinger in the series-opener with the Greyhounds. Thomas
3. went a perfect 4-for-4 at the dish in the series-finale, driving in three and scoring a pair of runs. Defensively, the
backstop was a wall behind the plate, keeping the Greyhounds from recording a stolen base over the entire weekend.
Abby Walker, Texas Woman's University, picked up three wins at Western New Mexico including a shutout to open
up the series. The senior did not allow any earned runs throughout 14.1 innings pitched for an ERA of 0.00. Walker also
tallied 13 strikeouts against the Mustangs and did not offer up a single walk. Offensively, Walker did damage at the plate
with seven hits and eight RBI that included a home run and a double. She tied a career-high with three hits in the first
game and tallied the third homer of her career in the final contest."
Breanna Smith, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, had a pair of shutouts as she helped lead her team to wins over St.
Edwards and UT Permian and the Javelinas stretched their win streak to 10 straight. After a modest performance against
the Hilltoppers in which she allowed two runs in 4.1 innings while picking up her seventh win, Smith put the clamps on
the Falcons offense in consecutive starts. On Friday, the sophomore fired five shutout innings in an 8-0 winning
permitting only two hits and no walks while striking out eight. The next day, Smith secured a doubleheader sweep over
UTPB with seven more scoreless frames. This time, Smith gave up six hits, five of them singles, and walked one to go
with four K's to earn her ninth win of the season.
Jordan Withrow, Tarleton State University, threw 14.1 innings and struck out 19 at West Texas A&M last weekend.
Hanna Gary, Eastern New Mexico University, played a major role in Eastern's series sweep over Midwestern State
with a victory and a save. Over eight innings, she scattered 10 hits and fanned seven batters. Her efforts in the circle all
came in relief appearances. Gary also had a bunt single in the second game of Friday's double-header, which led to a
Greyhound run later in the inning.

Eastern New Mexico
The Eastern New Mexico softball team improved to 8-0 at home with the program's first-ever season sweep of
Midwestern State. Elena Garcia batted .625 over the three games and had crucial late game hits in both Friday contests.
Hanna Gary also turned in a key performance in the circle, to earn both a win and save on Friday. On Saturday, the
Hounds cracked four homeruns on the way to an 11-7 victory. Over 21 games, ENMU now has hit 25 homeruns, just four
away from last season's total. This week, the Hounds hit the road to take on New Mexico Highlands and Angelo State.
Midwestern State
The MSU Texas softball team went 0-3 this past weekend at Eastern New Mexico. The Mustangs return to the friendly
confines of Mustangs Park on Friday for a three-game set with Texas A&M-Commerce.
Tarleton State
Tarleton won one of three at No. 9 West Texas A&M last weekend. The TexAnns will return home to host Cameron this
weekend.
Texas A&M-Commerce
The No. 21 Lions took two games out of three on the road from No. 18 Cameron last week. The Lions won the first game
8-6 in 10 innings, tying the longest game in program history. They then won the second game 11-3 in six innings. The
4. Lions fell in the final game 2-1. A&M-Commerce leads the LSC in scoring average, on-base percentage and stolen bases
and are top 25 in the nation in batting average, fielding percentage, home runs, scoring, slugging, stolen bases and
winning percentage. The Lions travel to Wichita Falls to face Midwestern State in a three-game series this weekend
before hosting Missouri Western State on Monday.
