LSC VOLLEYBALL
Tarleton State tops the Lone Star Conference standings at 7-1 with Texas A&M-Commerce in second place at 6-2 in
league action.
LSC games continue this week with one match Tuesday along with five matches each on Friday and Saturday.
LSC volleyball teams are 96-97 overall this season. The squads are currently 15-17 combined versus Rocky Mountain
Athletic Conference teams, and 11-6 against the Heartland Conference, which are the other leagues in the NCAA South
Central Region.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
Erin Clark, West Texas A&M University, FR, Scottsdale, Arizona, Horizon
Clark had another big weekend for the Lady Buffs this past Friday and Saturday in Canyon as WT improved to 10-8
overall with a 4-4 mark in LSC play with wins over Dallas Baptist and Texas A&M-Kingsville. The freshman outside
registered 35 kill (5.00/set) on 72 swings with nine attack errors to hit .361 on the weekend to go along with five service
aces, 20 digs and four block assists in a pair of victories. Clark registered her fourth double-double of the season on
Friday night in a South Central Regional matchup with Dallas Baptist as the Scottsdale native finished the night with 17
kills and 11 digs.
DEFENSIVE
Amber Strange, Tarleton State University, FR, Granbury, Texas, Granbury HS
Strange continued her dominance of the net as the freshman from Granbury boasted 12 blocks in seven sets to lead the
No. 15 TexAnns past Cameron and Midwestern State last weekend to extend Tarleton's winning streak to eight. She
anchored a Tarleton defense that held the Aggies and Mustangs to a combined .050 hitting percentage. Strange
averaged 1.71 blocks per set, including matching her season-high with seven blocks against MSU, and landed 17 kills on
a .294 hitting percentage. In Tarleton's four-set win over the Mustangs, a late kill from Strange started a match-clinching
12-2 run for the TexAnns - over which she scattered a kill and two blocks. Then Strange served up three straight before a
Mustang error ended the match in Tarleton's favor. Including the points from her serves, Strange had a hand in six of
Tarleton's final 10 points in the final-set victory over the Mustangs. For the week, she totaled three aces, 17 kills, three
digs, 12 blocks, and 27.0 points.
2. SETTER
Rylie Fuentes, Texas A&M University-Commerce, SO, Robinson, Texas, Robinson HS
Fuentes was the leading assister for the Lions as they hit .258 over three matches last week. Fuentes totaled 66 assists
and added 23 digs. She had 23 assists and nine digs in the Lions' sweep of Southeastern Oklahoma. The team hit .337 in
that match. Fuentes then had 16 assists and eight digs against Eastern New Mexico as the team hit .286 in the match.
Fuentes finished the week with a season-high 27 assists in the Lions 3-1 win over Western New Mexico. The Lions hit
.195 in the match. Fuentes has had seven matches of at least 20 assists this season.

OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Miri Shade, Texas Woman's University, collected match-highs in kills for the Pioneers in wins over Dallas Baptist,
Eastern New Mexico and Western New Mexico. The redshirt senior posted a double-double in a three-set sweep over
WNMU with 16 kills and a season-high 15 digs. Against ENMU, Shade tallied 14 kills and added a pair of blocks. She
posted nine kills and nine digs versus DBU.
Adriana Darthuy, Tarleton State University, stepped up for Tarleton in a big way last weekend as the sophomore
from France led the team with 29 kills on a .309 hitting percentage to extend Tarleton's winning streak to eight with
wins over Cameron and Midwestern State. Darthuy landed double-digit kills in both matches, including a 16-kill double-
double performance against Midwestern State Saturday in which she also had a career high four service aces. For the
week, Darthuy totaled 29 kills, four aces, 12 digs, five assisted blocks, and 35.5 total points for Tarleton. She also boasted
a 1.000 serve-receive percentage on 40 attempts.
3. Madison Brabham, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, turned in team-highs of 37 kills (4.11 kills per set) and a .412
attack percentage in the two matches played this weekend. Brabham also recorded nine total blocks to up her point
total to 42. Against UT Permian Basin, the junior led the team with 18 kills and then matched a career match-high of 19
kills against West Texas A&M. Brabham has gathered ten or more kills in the last four matches.
Jaslyn Wacker, Texas A&M University-Commerce, was almost automatic for the Lions last week. She hit .429 with 41
kills and 12 blocks in three matches. She hit .550 with 14 kills against SOSU. She also four blocks in that match. She then
had 11 kills while hitting .400 against ENMU, while also posting three blocks. She ended her week with a career-high 16
kills against WNMU while adding five blocks. Wacker is leading the LSC in hitting percentage at .380. She is 10th in the
conference in kills per set and fifth in blocks per set.
Anna Graham , Angelo State University, was a force on the Angelo State attack this week as she helped the No. 17
Belles to push its win streak to five matches. The Bushland, Texas native dropped in a team second 26 kills for the two
matches for a 3.71 kills per set average and a .408 clip. This included a team leading and career high 18 kills against
Cameron where she also inked a .500 clip for the match. The sophomore added 5 digs and a team second three total
blocks to assist the team's stout defense for the week.
Kalie Lyle, Western New Mexico, again led the offense with a team-high 24 kills, averaging 3.43 per set. She also
added 24 digs and three blocks, with one solo. Lyle went for 15 kills and added a double-double with 14 digs at Texas
Woman's. She just missed another double-double with nine kills and 10 digs in the four-set match at Texas A&M-
Commerce. Lyle is third in the conference in kills per set at 3.63.
Jasmine Gannon, Eastern New Mexico University, was a spark for the Greyhounds offense this past weekend,
recording at least nine kills in all three matches, including a 13 kill outburst against Texas Woman's. The true freshman
hit .311 on the week, including an impressive .471 against Lubbock Christian.
Bailey French, Texas Woman's University, averaged an impressive 5.9 digs per set in wins over Dallas Baptist,
Western New Mexico and Eastern New Mexico. The sophomore collected match-highs in digs during both contests with
22 against WNMU and 25 versus ENMU. French added 12 against DBU.
Savannah Rutledge, Texas A&M University-Commerce, was an impact defender for the Lions in their three wins last
week. The team held their opponents to just a .104 hitting percentage. Rutledge had 55 digs and six aces. She had 13
digs and two aces in the Lions sweep of SOSU, while the team held the Savage Storm to a hitting percentage of just .088.
Rutledge then had 20 digs and three aces in the Lions sweep of ENMU, holding the Greyhounds to a hitting percentage
of just .055. She then had 22 digs against WNMU while the team held the Mustangs to a percentage of .144. Rutledge is
sixth in the LSC in aces and 10th in digs.
Brianna Sotello , Angelo State University, assisted the No. 17 Belles defense in shutting down ASU's two opponents
this week. The senior leader turned in a team second 30 digs for an average of 4.29 digs per set. This helped the squad
limit its opposition to a .100 clip for the week. Sotello also recorded a team second three total blocks and the Belles only
solo block of the week. Offensively, she led ASU with 29 total kills and an outstanding 4.14 kills per set average. This
allowed her to ink her team leading eighth double-double of the season, and fourth consecutive. From the service line
she co-led the squad firing in five total aces and set a season high with four coming against Cameron.
Ashley Mataele, Western New Mexico, following a week in which she had 30 digs, did even better this week
collecting 33 digs, averaging 4.71 per set. She also had eight assists. Mataele had similar numbers both matches with 16
digs in three sets against Texas Woman's and then came back with 17 digs in four sets against the Lions. Her high in
assists with five came against Texas A&M-Commerce. Mataele ranks sixth in the conference in digs per set at 4.36.
Meghan Parker, Angelo State University, continued to set up the Belles attack as No. 17 Angelo State went
undefeated for the week. The setter tallied 90 total assists for the week helping the team to a .248 clip against the pair
of opponents. Chalking a season high 57 assists against Cameron the sophomore fell just short of setting a single match
career high. From the service line Parker co-led the Belles with five total aces. She also aided the defense with 19 digs on
the week and marking a fourth double-double of the year with 10 digs against the Aggies.
4. Katy Ranes, Texas Woman's University, directed the Pioneer offense to wins over Dallas Baptist, Western New
Mexico and Eastern New Mexico. The sophomore delivered match-highs in assists with 31, 42 and 47 for an average of
12.00 per set. Against WNMU, Ranes produced a career-high four blocks and added five digs. Versus ENMU, Ranes
tallied seven digs, three aces, two blocks and two kills.
Selena Batiste, West Texas A&M University, continued to impress for the Lady Buffs this past weekend as the
sophomore led WT to home wins over Dallas Baptist and Texas A&M-Kingsville at The Box in Canyon. The Portland
native dished out 74 assists in seven sets to average 10.57 per frame to go along with 10 kills on 19 swings with just
three attack errors to hit .368 on the weekend. Batiste also registered 14 total digs and three block assists in the
victories. Batiste dished out 33 assists and finished Friday night with six kills as the Lady Buffs swept past Dallas Baptist
followed by a 41 assist performance on Saturday afternoon with four kills, seven digs and three blocks against Texas
A&M-Kingsville.
Casey Klobedans, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, directed the offense with 77 assists, logging 8.56 per set. She led
the team with three service aces with no errors, and snuck in three kills in the nine sets played against UT Permian Basin
and West Texas A&M.
Jordyn Keamo, Tarleton State University, continued her dominant senior season as the setter from Hawaii dished
out 56 assists in seven sets for an average of 8.0 assists per set. She totaled six kills, three aces, 21 digs, a block, and 9.5
points for the week. She boasted a double-double performance in the win over Midwestern State Saturday.
Cristal Carrizoza, Western New Mexico, tallied a team-high 45 assists, averaging 6.43 per set. She also added a kill,
service ace, 12 digs and a block. Carrizoza had nearly the same numbers in both matches tallying a high with 23 assists
against the Pioneers and then came back with 22 against the Lions. She was approaching a double-double against Texas
A&M-Commerce with seven digs.

Angelo State
The No.17 Angelo State Belles extended its winning streak to five games with a pair of home victories this week. ASU
improved to 13-4 overall and 5-3 in the LSC moving them up in the confernce standings to third. The Belles are look to
continue confence play with a road tour that includes stops at Western and Eastern New Mexico.
Cameron
1-2 last week.
Eastern New Mexico
ENMU went 1-2 this past week, knocking off Lubbock Christian at home but falling to Texas A&M-Commerce and Texas
Woman's on the road. The Greyhounds are back in action this week against a pair of league leaders in Tarleton State and
Angelo State.
Midwestern State
Midwestern State suffered a pair of road defeats last week to nationally-ranked opponents in No. 16 Angelo State (3-0)
and No. 15 Tarleton State (3-1). The Mustangs dropped below .500 for the first time since sitting at 1-2 during the
opening week of the season, currently carrying an 8-9 mark and 3-6 record in the LSC. MSU plays host to Lubbock
Christian in a 6 p.m. matchup Tuesday at D.L. Ligon Coliseum before returning to conference play Saturday at Texas
A&M-Kingsville.
Tarleton State
5. Tarleton remained at No. 15 in the AVCA national ranking for the third straight week after defeating Cameron and
Midwestern State. The TexAnns will visit Eastern and Western New Mexico this weekend.
Texas A&M-Commerce
The Lions went 3-0 last week, sweeping both Southeastern Oklahoma State and Eastern New Mexico and getting a 3-1
win over Western New Mexico. The Lions hit .258 while holding opponents to just a .104 percentage. The team has won
five games in a row. The Lions lead the LSC in blocks and are third in kills, assists and aces. A&M-Commerce will now face
two road matches. They face West Texas A&M on Friday and UT Permian Basin on Saturday.
Texas A&M-Kingsville
The Javelinas split the bill this weekend, defeating UT Permian Basin in five sets before falling at West Texas A&M in
four. Madison Brabham paced the Javs with 4.11 kills per set and Haley Hutchinson anchored the defense with a team-
high of ten blocks. TAMUK will return home and host Cameron on October 13 in their annual Dig Pink match, followed
by a Saturday afternoon game with Midwestern State to wrap up the first half of conference play.

West Texas A&M
The Lady Buffs got back on track this past weekend as they picked up big wins over Dallas Baptist and Texas A&M-
Kingsville at The Box in Canyon to move to 10-8 (4-4 LSC). WT continues Lone Star Conference play tonight as they take
on UT Permian Basin in Odessa before hosting Texas A&M-Commerce and Texas Woman's during Homecoming weekend
in Canyon.
Western New Mexico
WNMU came back from a tough 3-0 loss to Texas Woman's and nearly pulled off the win against Texas A&M-Commerce
falling in a four-set battle. The Lady Mustangs lost a marathon 30-28 opening set and later won the third set to extend
the match. Kalie Lyle continued to lead the offense, while Cristal Carrizoza set the table and Ashley Mataele posted
another solid week in digs. Heather Verrill continues to work back into form with 10 blocks and a second-best 15 kills.
Lyle again led the offense with a team-high 24 kills, averaging 3.43 per set. She also added 24 digs and three blocks, with
one solo. Lyle went for 15 kills and added a double-double with 14 digs at Texas Woman's. She just missed another
double-double with nine kills and 10 digs in the four-set match at Texas A&M-Commerce. Lyle is third in the conference
