OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Erikka Burke, Eastern New Mexico University, hit safely in four of last week's five games and homered in three of her
last four. Monday's homerun against Tarleton State snapped a tie for second on ENMU's all-time homerun list and made
her the second player to register 30 in a career. For the week, Burke recorded a perfect fielding percentage in 43
opportunities.
Karina Rocha, Angelo State University, had an amazing weekend in a four-game sweep of Western New Mexico. The
sophomore hit .500 with all four of her hits being home runs. One was a three-run blast, one was a two-run shot and she
added two solo home runs. She finished with a .714 on-base percentage as the Buda native added a team-high six walks.
Of the 10 times she got on base, Rocha scored seven times and also drove in seven RBIs. She also recorded an
unbelievable 2.000 slugging percentage for the weekend.
Megan Durante, Tarleton State University, came up big every time the TexAnns needed her at the plate as Tarleton
swept Eastern New Mexico in Stephenville last weekend. Durante hit .444 with four hits in nine at bats, including three
extra-base hits. The senior from Denton led the team with five RBI for the series with a 1.000 slugging percentage.
Durante struck for the first time in the series on Sunday night when she broke up Eastern New Mexico's fourth-inning no
hitter with an RBI double to get the TexAnns on the board for the first run of the game. After the Greyhounds put up two
in the first inning in the first game of Monday's doubleheader, Durante had an answer. She teed off for a three-run
home run to put the TexAnns on top and spark a 7-3 win. In the final game of the series, Durante sparked the offense
once again with another RBI double to get the TexAnns on the board and lead Tarleton to a 5-2 win. Defensively, the
defending LSC Gold Glover played a flawless first base with a 1.000 fielding percentage with 18 putouts.
Rylee Willmon, Cameron University, had two dominant outings this past week as the Aggies swept the three game
series against UT Permian Basin. The junior threw a two hit shutout in the second game of the series, striking out seven
and walking just one in her seven innings of work. In the final game of the series, Willmon struck out nine while giving up
just one earned run in the win. She limited the opposition to just .208 batting while not allowing an extra base hit during
her 14 innings of work.
Hanna Gary, Eastern New Mexico University, in four relief appearances against New Mexico Highlands and Tarleton
State, posted a 0.51 earned run average and a 1-0 record. Over that span, she allowed just two extra-base hits with no
homers. Gary cracked her first homerun of the season in a win over Highlands.
Gracie Bogle, Midwestern State University, turned in her best pitching performance of the season in the nightcap
Saturday. The right-hander went 7.2 innings, scattering seven hits for one run while striking out a season-high five. Bogle
held the Javelinas to an .083 average with runners on base. The Tulsa product took a no-decision, leaving the game with
two outs in the bottom of the eighth.
3. Jordan Withrow, Tarleton State University, was phenomenal for Tarleton as the sophomore pitcher threw the entire
series and led the TexAnns to a three-game sweep of Eastern New Mexico. Withrow threw complete games in all three
games of the series, earning wins in all of them for a 3-0 weekend and to improve her record to 8-2 for the season. In
her 21.0 innings of work, Withrow allowed just five earned runs for a 1.67 ERA while holding the Greyhounds to a .147
batting average. For the weekend, Withrow struck out 28 batters including back-to-back games with at least 10
strikeouts.
Emily Otto, Texas A&M University-Commerce, was the ace for the Lions again last week, picking up two wins and
saving another game. She continued to retire batters in bunches, punching out 14 batters compared to just two walks.
She held hitters to a .261 average. She pitched a complete six innings in the Lions' 11-3 win over Missouri Southern
State, striking out six. She then came in in the seventh inning of game two and struck out all three batters she faced to
earn the save. She followed that with five innings in the final game of the series, striking out five more with just one run
given up.
