The document reviews the effects of mechanical vibration on the microstructure and mechanical properties of aluminum alloys cast using gravity die casting. It discusses how applying vibration to the mold during casting can refine grain structure and reduce dendrite arm spacing and defects. Several studies cited found that vibration led to higher tensile strength, hardness, and impact strength in cast aluminum alloys by promoting fragmentation of dendrites and a more homogeneous temperature field during solidification. The literature review concluded that vibration casting improves mechanical properties by changing the microstructure through effects on solidification like reducing grain size.
Effect of silicon carbide percentage on fracture toughness of aluminium silio...eSAT Journals
Abstract Metal matrix composites are composites in which one component will be a metal and other metal or non metal. It has wide applications in various fields like automobile, turbines blades etc which needs good mechanical properties. This thesis work studies about Aluminium Silicon Carbide metal matrix composites and their properties. Earlier studies revealed that as the percentage of Silicon Carbide is increased the properties get increased up to a limit and fracture toughness gets reduced beyond that. Here, in this work different percentage of SiC is added and fracture toughness is analyzed in terms of Stress intensity factor since fracture toughness cannot be calculated directly. Both software simulation and experimental methods has been done to find out the best percentage composition. Effects Of 600 Microns Particles of Eggshell on Tensile Strength of Zinc-Alum...IJMREMJournal
The study investigates the effects of eggshell particulate and particulate sizes on tenstile strength of ZA27 MMC
where eggshell served as particulate reinforcement. ZA27 MMC was produced by melting and casting ZA27
alloy and particulate eggshell in a lift-out crucible furnace, to produce rods of ZA27 MMC. Control sample rods
which have no eggshell content were also produced by melting and casting in sand molds. The tensile strength
of the produced rods were tested, and the results show a significant dependence of this property on added
particulate eggshell content.
The main objective of this project is to be produce copper reinforced metal matrix composite (MMC) layers using micron sized AlN particles via friction stir processing (FSP) in order to enhance surface mechanical properties. Micro structural evaluation using Optical Microscopy (OM) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) indicated that an increase in traverse speed and a decrease in rotational speed cause a reduction in the grain size of different groove width (0,0.4,0.8,1.2 mm) of stir zone (SZ) for the specimens friction stir processed (FSPed) without AlN particles. It was found that upon addition of AlN particles, wear properties were improved. This behavior was further supported by SEM images of wear surfaces. Results demonstrated that the micro composite produced by FSP exhibited enhanced wear resistance and higher average friction coefficient in comparison with pure copper. Tensile properties and fracture characteristics of the specimens FSPed with and without AlN particles and pure copper were also evaluated. According to the results, the MMC layer produced by FSP showed higher strength and lower elongation than pure copper while a remarkable elongation was observed for FSPed specimen without AlN particles and been greatly developed by the use of AlN.
Study of some Mechanical Properties of Galvanized 4140 SteelsIJAEMSJORNAL
The effect of three different galvanizing processes on the microstructure and tensile behavior and hardness of galvanized AISI 4140 steels was investigated. The thicknesses of the galvanized layers were measured as 34 μm, 90 μm and 140 μm for the electro galvanized, zinc-rich coated and hot dip galvanized AISI 4140 steels, respectively. No significant increase in tensile strength was observed with the galvanizing process. It was even observed that there was a decrease in tensile strength compared to the samples that were not galvanized. It is concluded that galvanizing processes is not effective in improving the tensile performance of AISI 4140 steels.

The objective of this paper is to study the micro
structural features of ZA27alloy containing nickel in the range
from 1 to 3 wt. %. The microstructure of the alloy was examined
using both optical and SEM. High percentage of nickel helps in
imparting strength to the alloy and also to overcome dimensional
instability as it forms various intermetallic compounds containing
hard particles. Small percentage of magnesium in the alloy helps
in reducing intergranular corrosion. The microstructure consists
of small, flaky and rod like irregularly shaped intermetallic
compound in the interdendritic and eutectic regions.
Metallographic studies showed that addition of nickel resulted in
microstructural modifications of the alloy involving the
formation of complex intermetallic compounds α.
Analysis of mechanical properties of heat treated mild steelSaugata Chowdhury
The aim of this project was to make a comparison between the changes in mechanical properties of mild steel quenched in various quenching mediums namely Vegetable oil, Brine solution, NaOH solution and Super-quenchant. Mild-Steel specimens for hardness test, tensile test and impact test were prepared and heated upto the austenizing range of temperature. After holding at that temperature for the necessary sintering time, they were immediately quenched in the four mediums.
Upon carrying the various tests, it was observed that hardness of all the specimens increased at the expense of toughness. Further the rate of cooling influenced the hardness of the specimens. Specimens quenched in NaOH exhibited maximum increase in hardness and tensile strength of steel. Oil quenched steel showed rise in hardness and tensile strength with least decrease in toughness among the four mediums. Brine also improved the hardness and tensile strength but maximum reduction in toughness was encountered. Finally, superquenchant was found to be the best quenching medium with appreciable rise in the hardness and tensile strength at very less reduction in toughness.
Characterization of Al/WC/Fly ash Metal Matrix Compositesijtsrd
Metal matrix composites are formed by combination of two or more materials (at least one of the materials is metal) having dissimilar characteristics. In this present investigation, aluminium (Al 6061) as base matrix metal and tungsten carbide (WC) particulate, fly ash as reinforcements. Fabrication of MMCs was done by stir-casting process. The Tungsten Carbide particulate was added in proportions of 1%, 2%, and 3% and Fly ash was added in proportions of 2%, 4%, and 6% on mass fraction basis to the molten metal. The different combination sets of composites were prepared. Mechanical properties like tensile strength and hardness were studied for both reinforced and unreinforced Al 6061 samples. Microstructure examination was carried by using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) to obtain the distribution of tungsten carbide particulate and fly ash in base matrix. From the results, it was found that the tensile strength and the hardness of the prepared metal matrix composites increased with increase in tungsten carbide and fly ash content. The Scanning Electron Micrographs of the samples indicated uniform distribution of tungsten carbide and fly ash particles in the base matrix without voids before testing and with voids after testing. Proper heat treatment of steels is one of the most important factors in determining how they will
perform in service. Engineering materials, mostly steel, are heat treated under controlled sequence of
heating and cooling to alter their physical and mechanical properties to meet desired engineering
applications. In this study we have chosen AISI 1020 steel as for our research work and we have tried to
find out the mechanical properties (hardness) and micro structural properties (martensite formation,
carbon self-locking region) by means of appropriate heat treatment process (annealing, normalizing &
hardening). Here the steel specimens were heat treated in a furnace at different temperature levels and
soaking time; and then cooled in various media (air, ash, water). After that the hardness of the specimens
were rechecked for the comparison with previous data and the microstructures of the specimens were
examined using metallurgical microscope equipped with camera. These results showed that the hardness
of AISI 1020 steel can be changed and improved by different heat treatments for a particular application.
From the microstructures we have found that the annealed specimens with mainly ferrite structure give the
lowest hardness value and highest ductility while hardened specimens which comprise martensite give
the highest hardness value and lowest ductility. On the other hand, normalized specimens have given the
moderate hardness and ductility comparing with hardened and annealed specimens

An investigation of Effect of Mould Vibrations on Mechanical and Metallurgica...journal ijrtem
Abstract: Casting is one of the oldest and mostly used production processes in industry. The traditional casting has certain disadvantages like poor strength due to hot tears, shrinkage and poor surface finish. The property of casting process mostly depends on the microstructure after solidification. Providing Mould vibration during casting is one of the latest techniques employed in order to get better structure in the solidified casting. Mould vibration during casting gives reduced amount of shrinkage, better morphology, surface finish, and less chances of hot tear. In this research work, the effect of mould vibration during solidification of Aluminum 356alloys for different values of wavelengths at a fixed pouring temperature investigated to understand the modification in microstructure and mechanical properties of casting. The Al356 casting has been prepared in a graphite mould with and without vibrations. The frequencies are varied from 0 Hz to 20 Hz during the casting process. A casting has been made without vibration as well to compare the results of castings with vibration. The experimental results showed significant grain refinement and remarkably improvement in compression strength and hardness of castings with mechanical mould vibration during solidification. Key words: Mould Vibrations, Stir casting, Vibrating table, Ultimate tensile strength, hardness and microstructure.

Friction stir processing is a technique for improving the characteristics of metals by causing local, severe plastic deformation. This deformation is achieved by forcing a non-consumable tool into the workpiece and rotating it in a stirring action while being pushed laterally through it. The primary goal of this experiment is to investigate Friction Stir processing parameters, surface composite production using friction stirs, and material mechanical characteristics. The various ceramic particles, such as SiC and Al2O3, were used as reinforcement particles. The parameter for this experiment is considered as the traveling speed, tool rotation speed, and tilt angles.
Effect Of Process Parameters On Mechanical Properties Of Friction Stir.Welded...IJERA Editor
Friction Stir Welding (FSW) is an advance joining process for different similar and dissimilar materials. It is
commonly used for joining of Aluminum alloys. However it is necessary to overcome some challenges for its
wide-spread uses. Tool design and the selection of process parameters are critical issues in the usage of this
process. This study focuses on the process parameters that is required for producing effective friction stir
welding of two similar aluminum alloys (AA6101T6 to AA6101T6) and dissimilar Aluminum alloys
(AA6101T6 alloy to AA6351T6) . Three different tool diameters such as 20 mm, 25 mm and 30 mm with three
different tool rotational speeds such as 600 rpm, 800 rpm and 1200 rpm have been used to weld the joints. The
welded samples were tested for mechanical properties as well as microstructure. It was observed that 30 mm
tool gives better weld quality for friction stir welding of similar aluminum alloy but 25 mm tool with 1200 rpm
rotational speed gave satisfactory weld quality for friction stir welding of dissimilar aluminum alloys. It is one
of the important welding process that can adopted for welding of aluminum alloys with excellent mechanical
properties. The results were confirmed by further experiments.
Experimental Investigations on Tribiological Properties of 6061-T6 Al Alloy b...IJAEMSJORNAL
Microstructure and tribological properties of Al-TiB2 nano surface composite fabricated by Friction Stir Processing (FSP) were evaluated. To vary the percentage of TiB2 three different slot thickness viz. 1mm, 1.5 mm and 2mm were considered. Microstructural evaluations showed a nearly uniform distribution of TiB2 in the aluminium matrix after FSP with the addition of composite powder. Microhardness test results shoes FSW of Al6061-T6 alloy with 2mm groove width has more hardness. tribological properties were evaluated at two different sliding velocities 0.314m/s and 0.48m/s and results shows that at lower loads there is no much difference in wear rate of surface composite made with different slot sizes but with increase in load and sliding velocity wear rate was increased , however, larger slot Al6061-TiB2 Surface composites show better wear resistance.

CW RADAR, FMCW RADAR, FMCW ALTIMETER, AND THEIR PARAMETERSveerababupersonal22
It consists of cw radar and fmcw radar ,range measurement,if amplifier and fmcw altimeterThe CW radar operates using continuous wave transmission, while the FMCW radar employs frequency-modulated continuous wave technology. Range measurement is a crucial aspect of radar systems, providing information about the distance to a target. The IF amplifier plays a key role in signal processing, amplifying intermediate frequency signals for further analysis. The FMCW altimeter utilizes frequency-modulated continuous wave technology to accurately measure altitude above a reference point.
Sachpazis:Terzaghi Bearing Capacity Estimation in simple terms with Calculati...Dr.Costas Sachpazis
Terzaghi's soil bearing capacity theory, developed by Karl Terzaghi, is a fundamental principle in geotechnical engineering used to determine the bearing capacity of shallow foundations. This theory provides a method to calculate the ultimate bearing capacity of soil, which is the maximum load per unit area that the soil can support without undergoing shear failure. The Calculation HTML Code included.

Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.
NUMERICAL SIMULATIONS OF HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER IN CONDENSING HEAT EXCHANGERS...ssuser7dcef0
Power plants release a large amount of water vapor into the
atmosphere through the stack. The flue gas can be a potential
source for obtaining much needed cooling water for a power
plant. If a power plant could recover and reuse a portion of this
moisture, it could reduce its total cooling water intake
requirement. One of the most practical way to recover water
from flue gas is to use a condensing heat exchanger. The power
plant could also recover latent heat due to condensation as well
as sensible heat due to lowering the flue gas exit temperature.
Additionally, harmful acids released from the stack can be
reduced in a condensing heat exchanger by acid condensation. reduced in a condensing heat exchanger by acid condensation.
Condensation of vapors in flue gas is a complicated
phenomenon since heat and mass transfer of water vapor and
various acids simultaneously occur in the presence of noncondensable
gases such as nitrogen and oxygen. Design of a
condenser depends on the knowledge and understanding of the
heat and mass transfer processes. A computer program for
numerical simulations of water (H2O) and sulfuric acid (H2SO4)
condensation in a flue gas condensing heat exchanger was
developed using MATLAB. Governing equations based on
mass and energy balances for the system were derived to
predict variables such as flue gas exit temperature, cooling
water outlet temperature, mole fraction and condensation rates
of water and sulfuric acid vapors. The equations were solved
using an iterative solution technique with calculations of heat
and mass transfer coefficients and physical properties.
Cosmetic shop management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Buying new cosmetic products is difficult. It can even be scary for those who have sensitive skin and are prone to skin trouble. The information needed to alleviate this problem is on the back of each product, but it's thought to interpret those ingredient lists unless you have a background in chemistry.
Instead of buying and hoping for the best, we can use data science to help us predict which products may be good fits for us. It includes various function programs to do the above mentioned tasks.
Data file handling has been effectively used in the program.
The automated cosmetic shop management system should deal with the automation of general workflow and administration process of the shop. The main processes of the system focus on customer's request where the system is able to search the most appropriate products and deliver it to the customers. It should help the employees to quickly identify the list of cosmetic product that have reached the minimum quantity and also keep a track of expired date for each cosmetic product. It should help the employees to find the rack number in which the product is placed. It is also Faster and more efficient way.
