1- 5mm discussion about “reading vs listening”
- Persuade the teachers about the importance of
listening.

planning a listening lesson?
5- Type of activities : (communicative & information gap)

Time Interaction Procedure Notes & AFL 9:00 T tr – trainees Trainees – trainees  Opening session  Review about the last training “Teaching Reading”  Check teachers’ ability to plan read lesson.  Share teachers’ experience in dealing with read lesson.  See what difficulties are noticed in class facing read lesson and the suggested solutions. 9:20 10:30 t.tr - trainees trainees – T.tr t.tr - trainees trainees – T.tr t.tr - trainees trainees – T.tr  Power point presentation: 1- 5mm discussion about “reading vs listening” - Persuade the teachers about the importance of listening. 2- 5 mm group work : a) define listening b) problems facing teaching this skill in Algerian schools 3- What makes a successful listening lesson? 4- 5mm discussion about the most important thing in planning a listening lesson? 5- Type of activities : (communicative & information gap)  Raise teachers awareness to be ready and plan extra work if they face problems in presenting one of the receptive skills.  Enable teacher to discriminate between the type of skills.  Discuss the problems facing teacher to plan and deliver such lesson.  Teachers must discriminate between listening in real life and in class and how to make the bridge between the two worlds.*  Tackle the most important point in planning such lesson which is the type of activities .  Make teachers reflect on what kind of activities they plan in class .  Focus on the fact the
