1 November 2015
Children with special needs should spend most time with non disabled children Children with special
needs are slightly different from non disabled kids, but they re should not be a barrier between non
disabled children and children with disabilities. Special needs covers a wide range. Some children
with physical disabilities use wheelchair, or cane while other children with learning disabilities such
as, autism, or emotional disorder. Children with special needs are like all children they want to make
friends. Non disability children want respect, love, good education and job of their dream. Children
with special needs can do the same things non disabled kid do, but it can take them longer. It requires
additional explanation or attention. Parents of children with special needs usually feel isolated and
uncertain about their child s future. Schools can help them find support that children are not alone and
help is available. Teachers should meet with parents in order to get to know the children better, the
specific of their children. Special teachers may come into the class to work one on one with the
student, for individualized attention. Change begins with an honest examination of understandings,
knowledge and belief. Children with special needs should spend more time with non disabled kids.
Children with special needs should study more at public school to learn from

Similarities Between Macbeth And Banquo
A homograph is a word that is spelled the same but can be pronounced differently or have different
meanings. Different pronunciations of the word are used based on the context of the sentence it is in.
This same idea is also true of people. Two people can have the exact same experiences, yet react to it
in completely different ways. Characters in literature often reflect this same phenomenon, foil
characters with identical aspects who react differently to circumstance. In Shakespeare s tragic play
Macbeth, Banquo serves as a foil character to Macbeth emphasizing Macbeth s unchecked ambition, a
fatal flaw, that leads to his ultimate moral decline. At the beginning of the story, Shakespeare
establishes the foil between Macbeth and Banquo to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By encouraging Macbeth not to fear his prophecy, Shakespeare establishes that his foil Banquo also
has a sense of ambition. Unlike Macbeth, however, Banquo has the ability to control his ambition.
These opening scenes establish a foil between Banquo and Macbeth in order to show their shared
positive characteristics prior to Macbeth s moral decline. After Macbeth and Banquo receive
prophecies, the foil characters start to diverge as Banquo s takes the moral path of goodness while
Macbeth takes the immoral path towards his ultimate decline. Banquo and Macbeth have the
opportunity to pursue the same path, but because of his unchecked ambition, Macbeth deviates from
Banquo s path of good morals. Immediately after the witches tell their prophecies, Banquo s mindset
is wary and rational. He warns Macbeth that, oftentimes, to win us to our harm, / the instruments of
darkness tell us truths... (1.3.125 126). Banquo is not obsessed with the prophecies and the idea that
one day his ancestors will be kings. On the other hand, Macbeth speculates, Two truths are told, / as
happy prologues to the swelling act / of the imperial theme. (1.3.130 132) Because two of the three
prophecies have come true, Macbeth is blinded by his ambition and seems to fantasize about the idea
of being king. These contrasting reactions show that Macbeth takes a

Is Animal Euthanasia Ethical
Is Animal Euthanasia Ethical? We ve had her since before I was born.. She was my first dog. I still
remember when my grandpa and I would always take her on walks on the beach, and when we would
play fetch with my favorite frisbee at the park. My dog, Princess, and I had a very strong bond. She
was my best friend. As she grew older, she became very sick and developed some type of cancer. It
was a very painful experience for both her and I. The cancer would cause Princess to suffer daily. She
wasn t able to eat, sleep, or walk. As it got worse, my grandpa decided that it would be best to put her
down so she would no longer suffer. I remember the day perfectly.. It happened in our backyard. It
was depressing to see her leave, but I knew it was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First off, I feel that the correct use of euthanasia is when an animal is in devastating pain, and when
the animal is uncomfortable. It can t eat it s usual meals, and when there is nothing to do to help this
animal live longer, it is kind to euthanize it. For example, when my dog was dying, she was in
excruciating pain, and could not eat. Our choices were either to let her die naturally, suffering for
possibly weeks or months of pain, or to assists her with a kind and painless death. In this case,
euthanasia was being correctly used. In the Newsela article, Washington Post speaks about how one of
the white rhino s from the San Diego Zoo was euthanized because of old age, and another that is in the
decision of being euthanized because of a harmful bacterial infection. (Washington Post, Newsela
Staff, xx) However, euthanasia can be used incorrectly, in a non humane way. For example, when
people have perfectly healthy pets that are euthanized, that is an unethical use of euthanasia. I had a
German Shepherd at my aunt s house that was put down because the neighbors children would irritate
him so much, that he snapped and attacked the kids. Because of this incident, the neighbors parents
would complain about the dog and since they complained so much, they had the dog euthanized. This
is a very incorrect use of

An Investigation into Related Job Stress and Job Satisfaction
This research is based on a study done at Northern Caribbean University to investigate the relation
between job satisfaction and job stress among teachers. According to French Caplan (1972) job stress
is as a result of a misfit between an individual and their environment.
Research topic: An investigation into related job stress and job satisfaction
Job Stress Among Teachers
Related job stress and job satisfaction have been a topic researched by several scholars and now by
me. The issue of stress in the teaching profession as caused a serious concern for both faculty and
administrators (Schuster, 1986). The increasing stress have been creating profound impact on female
teachers (Lease, 1999), and new faculty members (Oslen, 1993). ... Show more content on

Some researchers have also attributed poor behavior of students as a significant contributor to the
daily stress teachers face (Geving, 2007). When one think of teaching one can also think of it as a
stressful occupation that many present teachers are quitting more than ever (Smith, 2006).
Mastery of task management skills have been found as a critically component that new teachers take a
while to grasp which in turn fosters a recipe for stress (Brown, 2005). Researchers like Cox (2007)
have found weak administrations and school violence as a major factor which lead to overwhelming
stress and departure of many teachers. This finding was also supported by Smith (2006). Smith s
findings indicated that teaches are stressed because they don t feel safe in the environment in which
they are expected to spend most of their lives. As job commitment increase the level of potential stress
decreases (Forrest, 2006). Nevertheless, if there is a low level of commitment then the possibility of
being stressed will increase. Researches like Maslach and Jackson (1996) have intended to three major
factors that contributes to teachers being burnout. These factors are subjective accomplishments,
emotional exhaustion and depersonalization.

There have been several investigations to create an understanding between job satisfaction and the
teaching profession. In various studies related to job satisfaction for teachers

The DataBakery is a homemade goods bakery with a diverse assortment of succulent, delectable
baked goods which can be readily viewed on www.databakery.com. We exist to deliver our baked
goodies anywhere in the New England geographical region. As project sales forecasts have been
shattered repeatedly and growth ensues, our firm feels the need to develop a comprehensive database
to better collect, organize, and display important data necessary to optimize business operations. The
DataBakery would like to track our sales by each individual product. Tracking product sales would
allow our firm to: determine what our most popular product lines are, what is being consumed the
most, and how to alter our business strategy going forward based off of discovered trends in our well
organized data. Customer purchases, in terms of quantity of transactions, customer name, address,
phone number, email, the number of loyalty points they have accumulated, and overall customer
expenditures per purchase are important pieces of data we wish to collect as part of our customer
purchasing information. The customer loyalty points are an important field in our customers table. We
wish to increment a particular customer s loyalty points based on number of transactions and based on
overall dollars and cents expended at DataBakery. These loyalty points would have implications of the
customers receiving promotional offers, coupons, deals, discounts, and dollars off their purchases

Providing For Inclusion Essay
Providing for inclusion Introduction This report will aim to discuss the inclusion for special
educational needs (SEN) students as well as those students with autistic spectrum condition (ASC).
This report will discuss inclusive education and its history, as well as the social, political and
philosophical arguments that impact upon it. The report will look at how educational practice is
shaped by legislative and regulatory frameworks; it will also show how our own practice provides
support for all children to achieve within mainstream education. Autism Spectrum Condition Autism

The rights based model has at its very core the principal that all children should attend a mainstream
school within their community (Kenworthy, Whittaker, 2000). This model of inclusion for all seeks to
directly challenge the societal belief regarding the legitimacy of segregated education, and the
assumption that it is simply impossible to include all children in mainstream education (CSIE, 2008).
The Centre for Studies in Inclusive Education regards full inclusion as a human rights issue, it
advocates the abolition of segregated (special) schooling, while others believe that a special education
school system has no place in a right based framework (Cigman, 2006). Quoting Kenworthy and
Whittaker (2000, P.222): Ending the segregation of children is above all, a human rights objective [...]
The conviction must be that segregated education is a damaging and archaic practice, incompatible
with a civilised society. Towards this end, it crucial that the philosophical tenants of inclusion should
be differentiated from persistent orthodoxies of the past, which so far have disguised and masked
assumptions inimical to inclusion (Liasidou, 2012). Shaping educational practice The focus on
inclusion has risen up the political and statutory agenda, to such an extent that there is widespread
evidence of

The Importance Of Gender Equality For Men And Women
Is it fair to pay a woman less that performs the same duties as a man in the workplace? No. Does
equality in the workplace have better results for our overall country s economic performance? Yes.
Reaching gender equality is essential for work relations and work performance due to fairness. We all
perform more efficiently at work when we feel we are being treated fairly. Equality is attained when
we all are put in a position to have access to the same opportunities and receive the same recognition
within our work environment. The objective of this equality is to reach equal pay for the same jobs
performed by men and women. It is a fact that more women register and graduate from college than
men, but still, men with the same education level and experience as women are paid more and receive
better opportunities. According to the Congressional Digest, Gains have been made in some areas,
research by GAO and others has shown that women s average pay has been, and remains, lower than
that of men (2014, p.1). Considering education levels, women with graduate degrees earn just 69.1%
of what men with graduate degrees earn, and those with bachelor degrees earn 71.4 % of men s
salaries. These facts inform us that women have to reach for more educational qualifications just to
attain the same job pay as men. Workplace equality for men and women is an unresolved and a hot
topic that impacts the workforce. Men and women should receive the same fairness in the workplace,
such as equal pay

A Research On Biometrics And Wireless Technique
Abstract The main purpose of the paper is assembling and developing an iris recognition system in
order to verify uniqueness of the human eye of faculty in a college for attendance management
system. This system based on biometrics and wireless technique solves the problem of spurious
attendance and the trouble of laying the corresponding network. Here biometric recognition is
performed with respect to iris because of its unique biological properties. The iris is unaffected by
external environmental factors and remains stable over time. It can make the college staff attendance
management more easy and effective. This paper includes image acquisition, the preprocessing
system, segmentation, feature extraction and recognition.
Keywords Iris recognition; preprocessing system; segmentation; feature extraction.
I. INTRODUCTION
Traditionally college staff attendance management methods were based on physical key, ID card,
password, etc. In all the above mentioned methods there are high chances of keys getting lost, forgery
or passwords may be forgotten. Due to these shortcomings and requirement for high level of security
have led to development of personal identification on next level using biometrics. Biometrics refers to
metrics related to human characteristics. It is used to identify individuals in a group that ae under
surveillance. Within few seconds biometric recognition is able to compare thousands of records.
Biometrics are of various kinds. Iris, facial, fingerprint

Denny s Analysis
Denny s Diner is an unlikely company to market to Millennials. The twenty four hour diner that
specialized in cheap, simple food is not exactly what comes to mind when one thinks of the
restaurants that the environmentally and health conscious millennials will choose (Jang et al). But not
only are millennials green and healthy, they are increasingly tach savvy. Recently, social media and
meme popularity have skyrocketed, and Denny s hopes to capitalize on that. A quick scroll through
Denny s Tumblr account reveals eclectic, yet perfectly planned, content that is intended to raise
questions, make the viewer laugh, and, most importantly, gain the loyalty of young consumers. Denny

While Celiac s Disease is undoubtedly a real condition, the gluten free diet is a current fad.
Particularly in large, urban areas, the gluten free has sparked an outpouring of social media posts. By
picking up on the popularity of the gluten free diet, Denny s implies that even if someone is on the
diet, he or she can still eat there. As a cheap, quick diner, the average consumer would not assume that
Denny s has many gluten free options. However, by portraying this information through a humorous
response, Denny s proves that it is a restaurant where trendy, health conscious people can eat. But
beyond that, by responding to such an obscure question from a blogger and using a question about a
girlfriend to advertise their gluten free options, Denny s subtly hints at how ridiculous they think the
gluten free fad is. With millennials obsessed with the free from movement, such as food free from
gluten, soy, and dairy, Denny s has to point out that while gf typically means girlfriend in short hand,
it now means gluten free to trendy millennials (Carr, Stop the Free From Fad ). Through this post,
Denny s demonstrates how ridiculous it is that gf refers to gluten free instead of girlfriend. Ultimately,
this post allows Denny s to relate

Pricing Of A Variable For Health System
Pricing Regression CABG Like the case for colectomy, Table 6 shows the results of two pricing
regressions. An indicator variable for health system was included in model 1, while different types of

significantly associated with the risk adjusted CABG price. Having one comorbidity condition
increased the risk adjusted CABG price by 3.2 percent (model 1) and 3 percent (model 2). In addition,
three or more comorbidity conditions were associated with a 14 percent (model 2) increase in the risk

affiliated hospitals showed the lowest risk adjusted CABG price, which was 15.6 percent (model 2)
lower than non system hospitals. The CABG prices in MCHS and DHS affiliated hospitals were
significantly lower than the CABG price in non system hospitals by 7.8 percent and 8.5 percent
respectively. The CABG price for HMO enrollees was significantly lower than the CABG price that

Cousin Kate by Christina Rossetti The poem cousin Kate by Christina Rossetti is about a young girl

The Values Of Sense And Sensibility By Jane Austen
Sense and Sensibility by: Jane Austen
Intoduction:
Sense and Sensibility was first published in 1811, by Jane Austen, Sense and Sensibility represents the
neoclassical, dualistic moral world where values and exclusion values will ultimately be successful in
a painful, romantic feeling. Not only that, he was making serious cynicisms of society s eighteenth
centuries in which the aristocrats were praised and indirectly influencing young people s minds, not
the love of love but to betray it just for Wealth. In the novel, Lucy and Willoughby symbolize this kind

many movies, music videos, ads, etc. we see sexism between males and females. According to Gender

Guns And Crime And Violence Essay
Guns and crime. These two words sound interesting, right? Now think about it deeply, do they really
link to each other? Do guns surely lead to crime and violent issues? If so, should governments set
restrictive rules for people who own and use the guns, such as provide the mental health reports, and
test the shooting skills before purchasing the guns? These questions have been mentioned and
discussed over and over again in today s world. We can often hear the news about gun violence, such
as a tragic mass shooting somewhere around the world and tons of victims who died from the
accident, or husband that shot his wife by accident. Thus, many people, especially people in America,
are asking, and even doubting whether or not it is beneficial to own guns at home without a license. In
my opinion, I think that owning a gun can be helpful sometimes in some ways, as it can always be the
extremely powerful and helpful weapon for self defense, especially when help from the law
enforcement officers are not available.
Being a student in the United States, I have often heard many stories about gun violence. I always
thought it was something that would never happen to me and people around me until that Friday night.
I clearly remember that it was a chill and windy night. A dark sky was full of the blazing stars, and a

Jose Garcia Villa s Footnote To Youth
The short story Footnotes to Youth , written by Filipino writer Jose Garcia Villa, talks about a young
boy at the age of seventeen Dodong, who was initially very enthusiastic about life, but then the
obstacles and tribulations of life got the best of him and made him became grim about life. This goes
for same for his wife Teang, who carried the burden of taking care of six children and doing household
chores, and as a result she became shapeless and thin. Both of their lives became miserable after
having children despite their young age.
By reading the literary text Footnotes to Youth , it is found that the theory of psychoanalysis is applied
in the story. Through the dreams and the thoughts of the character, it is shown that the characters of
the story had inner feelings within them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He thought that life had been made ugly for him after his marriage to Teang. Teang felt the same, as
she wished that she was not married, or at least that she had no children. There is also denial when

doing the same thing as he did eighteen years ago. However, he could not do anything but to give his
blessings to his son reluctantly and hoped that he would able to go through th tribulation of life.
There is also evidence of archetypes, an easily recognizable role in literature and drama. It is found
that one character can have more than one archetype, as long they meet the requirements. In the short
story Footnotes to Youth , it is discovered that Teang was the anima, or the ideazed female in Dodong
s mind, as he constantly dreamt of her day and night. He desired her, and wanted to marry her. Tona

The Impact Of Social Media On The Workplace
Building Relationships This experience is the first time I have been introduced to professional
relationships. I took the time to set up a LinkedIn account. It always brings a smile to my face when a
subcontractor requests to connect with me. I believe that social media outlets such as LinkedIn give
professionals an opportunity to keep up with each other s successes. The lowest level relationship I
have built is with the field workers from our concrete subcontractors. I have enjoyed getting to know
them and hearing how they got to Texas. One of the workers was born and raised in California. He
recently heard about how strong the economy was in Houston, so he packed everything up and moved
here. Another worker was born in Mexico and just recently became an American citizen. He is
enrolled night classes to strengthen his speaking skills. I have a tremendous amount of respect for the
men who work in the field. The highest level relationship I have built is with the chief executive
officer of Linbeck. I believe it says a lot about a company when even the highest levels of leadership
are able to recognize your face and call you by name. I am proud to be a part of a company who
values the idea of being a family. I believe the most important relationship I have established outside
of Linbeck is with project managers from the various trades. These men and women have taught me so

Free Speech on College Campuses Essay

Importance of Free Speech
College is a time when most individuals are experiencing major changes and begin to explore new
perspectives. The transition in becoming more independent, creating new insights and peer influence
are key factors in changing the perspective of an individual. Students are faced with new ideas from
their professors, family and fellow peers. Through that acquired knowledge many students decide that
they either agree or disagree with the perspectives that they are taught. Allowing the right of Free

Despite their opinions, free speech was a great way in this situation for students to rally together and
publically inform the rest of campus of their beliefs. In the school newspaper, The Daily Emerald, CJ
Ciaramelle wrote About 300 students from across the campus community student unions, Greek Life,
the ASUO, the Survival Center, the Women s Center showed up at the meeting to protest the Forum
(1). Although the majority of people protested against the forum the right to free speech, it is
important because it allows students to make decisions on their own and invite students to do the
same.
Free speech often has negative connotations because the negative outcomes are publicized more than
the positive outcomes. Free Speech is a time for individuals to express their beliefs and topic on an
important issue. People chose to present themselves in a vast majority of ways such as, holding signs,
making t shirts, shouting, etc. People who chose to present themselves in disrupting ways such as, foul
language, inappropriate attire are more likely to be noticed than another student that is holding a
simple and respectful sign. Schmidt states, Universities cannot censor or suppress speech, no matter
how obnoxious in content, without violating their justification of existence (2). There is no definition
of what type of free speech should be censored and not allowed. With that said, there should not be a
limit on free speech

Apesian Mimicry

MĆ¼llerian mimicry is when two or more distasteful species may benefit from a shared warning

poisonous species, such as coral snake and a scarlet king snake. Many prey can also deter predators by

In parasitism, the parasite benefits, but the host is harmed. Symbiosis is the close interaction between
organisms of different species for an extended time. Symbiotic relationships differ on the effects of the
other species while one benefits. The three major symbiotic relationships are commensalism,
mutualism, and parasitism. In commensalism, the species benefits and the other remains unaffected.
One example are barnacles hitching a ride on the skin of a whale. In parasitism, the parasite benefits
and the host is harmed. The parasite lives on or in the host and benefits by feeding on it. An example
of this are tapeworms that live inside the intestines of organisms. The organism is harmed, since they
are not getting the nutrients from the food that they are eating, but the tapeworm benefits, as it is
getting the food and nutrients it needs to survive. Tapeworm larvae can also migrate throughout the
body, therefore harming other organs and tissues as well. In mutualism, both species benefit. One
example are lichens, which are formed by fungi and algae living together. The algae undergo

the readers aware of the personal issues she went through. Sweetness elaborates on her view regarding
race because of the personal stories about a mother and the issues she had with her daughter. Morrison
s parents moved to Ohio from the South, hoping to raise their children in an environment friendlier to
blacks. This wasn t the case when she grew up, married her white husband and got a child. In his eyes
seeing his daughter was like seeing a lie that was cursed upon him which made it impossible to except
her. As a result, Morrison undoubtedly touches on how whites back then didn t learn empathy or
compassion towards the blacks. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Morrison wrote, Oh, yeah, I feel bad sometimes about how I treated Lula Ann when she was little. She
uses an anecdote to articulate her view on oppression by introducing the effect she had on her child.
While it might be true that Morrison uses deep and sensitive languages my overall position does not
change because her writing resonates with how profound the topic of oppression is when she uses a
metaphor. Morrison stated, She was so black she scared me. Morrison used metaphor to further
emphasize the fear she had for her daughter.Lula Ann(the daughter) was born to a high yellow mother
that rejected the infant just as she changes right in front of her eyes from a pale skin tone to midnight

The Secret Intelligence Branch Of The Shin Bet
If there is one thing true about this documentary is the depressing, and pessimistic nature of it. The
Shin Bet, Israel s equivalent of the FBI act as the secret intelligence branch that serves to protect Israel
from behind the scenes, and Unseen Shield, if you will. The six ex leaders of the Shin Bet all portray
the recent decades of Israel s undercover militaristic organisation by retelling some of their past
actions and experiences. All six tell of their actions, that would shock us uninitiated civilians, with
surprising bluntness. One man seems like the typical gentle grandpa wearing suspenders, who is
subsequently called a bully and a monster, another younger man is very collected yet obviously
troubled by the job. And then there is also Ami the bald gaunt man who likes to quote intellectuals. All
speak about the political history of Israel and how they re work has fundamentally changed them. One
of the most important change they face is their entire strategy involving the Palestinian issue. Their
tactics need to change from simply removing extremists to diplomatic solutions. At the very beginning
of the film the man Yuval Diskin introduces the most thought provoking theme of the documentary, it
s unnatural to have the power to give the word and end a man s life in an instant. In these moments
when a person has to decide between taking the shot and killing a known terrorist and potentially
innocent lives around him, or decline and let the man go on to do some

Sports Leads
For me, the best sports leads are ones that either raise a question or evoke an emotion. Most people are
easily distracted in this era filled with constant distractions and people with the attention spans like
squirrels. I can even attest to having one of these squirrel attention spans, and as such, if I am reading
a story that does not entice me quickly enough, I usually just move on. I have found that the best way
to maintain the attention span of a reader is by posing an irresistible question or by making them so
emotional, that they cannot resist reading. I found three good examples of a sports lead that are able to
raise questions to peak a reader s interest, and one example of a sports lead that is able to move the

There always needs to be a reason for me to care about anything that I read, if I do not care about it,
then why should I spend my time reading it? A prime example I found of invoking emotion in a lead
was in a story about the Marlins game earlier this week. On Sunday, one of the Marlins prized players
tragically passed away after a boating accident. The lead read The Miami Marlins had to take the field
Monday night. They had to in a rather crass view not for themselves, and not to honor their beloved
teammate, Jose Fernandez, who died early Sunday morning in a boating accident in Miami Beach. I
have no connection to the Marlins baseball team at all, but this lead made me want to care, it made me
want to sympathize with the family, team, and fans of Jose Fernandez. The lead demonstrated the pain
that the team was suffering through by the statement had to take the field . They did not have to take
the field because they owed it to Fernandez or to the fans, they had to because it was their job and they
had no other option about it. They were clearly suffering and wanted nothing to do with the game and
had to force themselves through their own pain just to play, that is a powerful

Perfectionism Among Athletes
The significance of including perfectionism in this proposed study is due to it being a precursor of
burnout as well as having an association with burnout (Buyukbayraktar Temiz, 2015; Hill, Hall,

Why China Is The Biggest Internet Market Globally Essay
Many market opportunities have helped the Alibaba Group thrive in the recent years. The location is
the first advantage because China has over 560 million users of internet spending over 20 hours online
a week. China is the biggest internet market globally (Bhasin, 2016). This is twice the size of internet
users in United States of America. China is gradually shifting the traditional retailing in favor of latest
trend of e tailing. The good relationship with the government of China has enabled it to carry its
operations so well in the market. For example, Alibaba Group was among the companies selected by
the government of China to join the Internet banking. This is a huge opportunity especially where
banks are state owned (Shiying Avery, 2009). The cost cutting associated with the huge volume of
sales. For example, Tmall and Taobao accounted for over 50 percent of all the Chinese delivered
parcels. Tmall s and Taobao s combined transaction volume in 2012 was about one trillion yuan. This
figure was more than eBay and Amazon transaction volumes combined.
Marketing strategies are so essential for the success of any business. To understand this better, I can
briefly discuss the Alibaba s marketing mix. The Alibaba s main product is Alibaba.com, their E
commerce portal. It is the leading business to business portal in the entire world (Bhasin, 2016).
Alibaba focuses on B2B market where it is the leader while most of other E commerce portals such as

The Golden Age Of The Golden Age
As comic books continue to develop, their popularity is normally underestimated in terms of
relevance, but they are more prominent than one might assume in popular culture. Comic books are no
longer seen as a primary source of entertainment in popular culture as they were during the Golden
Age (1939 1955), the period of exponential growth and prosperity of the comic book industry. During
that era, comics served to stimulate patriotism and gave an opportunity for expression that appealed to
the youth. In contemporary time, they provide influence and inspiration for shows and movies alike.
Two very well known comic book creators, Mr. Joe Kavalier and Mr. Sam Clay, author and illustrator
of The Escapist, brought the public insight into how the Golden Age was a sign of right timing for
their appearance in the comic book industry. As modest as they are, they are more notably the pioneers
of the Golden Age. The age of the comic book will continue to reveal itself in more than one way and
the conception of these new ideas will give birth to a new era of content. The Golden Age of comic
books is seen as the age of prosperity for the comic industry. The Golden Age faced not just profound
change and innovation in the comic book industry, it encompassed the change of the world with World
War II and rapid innovations in technology. While superheroes fought crime, the world was fighting a
war and so was the comic book industry. With new technologies, the comic book was able to

Fighting Inequality and Oppression with Non-Violence Is...
An unjust law is itself a species of violence. Arrest for its breach is more so. Now the law of
nonviolence says that violence should be resisted not by counter violence but by nonviolence. This I
do by breaking the law and by peacefully submitting to arrest and imprisonment. (Mahatma Gandhi)
Since Americas independence until today people try to find different approaches to defeat the
inequality and the oppression. An old traditional thought is that violence can only be treated with
violence, there is no room left for an analysis of the situation and try to approach it differently. Yet,
there are ways like Gandhi quote states if we have to break the law and accept the consequences to
counter violence by non violence might as well accept this method; either way people suffer the
consequences for breaking the law . On the onther hand, a nonviolence movement will shift people
view on the positive side rather than the negative side; demonstrating that nonviolence method will
achieve justice in a peaceful way without the consequences of violence. The best method to advocate
justice is by fostering a Non violent character to people and to stand up against the enemy with
intelligence.

The Challenges Of Poverty In Education
Poverty is an increasing problem in the world that greatly impacts our most vulnerable population.
Children who are born into poverty are automatically placed at a disadvantage going into school.
Before they are even in the school system they are achieving less than their richer counterparts
(Morrissey, Hutchison, Winsler, 2014). The academic achievement gap between students of low
income and higher income is staggering, by implementing solutions that address the needs of
transportation and meals as well as offering therapy programs and investing time into building strong
relationships with students, educators can attempt to bridge the gap. Children coming from low
income families are greatly affected by the financial strain within their household. Their parents are
often working odd hours, shift work and or multiple jobs leaving these children to take care of
themselves. This not only affects the cognitive development, but also may cause tardiness and
absences if the children are responsible to get themselves ready and to school. Parents may also find it
difficult to manage the pick up and drop off times in combination of their work schedules. When
students do not attend school or arrive late they miss out on crucial instructional time from their
teachers, as well as social interactions with peers (Morrissey, Hutchison, Winsler, 2014). In order to
minimize tardiness and absences, and their effects, there a few things administrators and teachers can

The Theological Ideas Of Pope Francis
As the world modernizes at unprecedented rates and becomes increasingly secular, there is increasing
scrutiny on the Church and her actions. The Church, plagued by sex scandals and slandered for its
rejection of many new ideas, is often dismissed as obsolete and unable to keep pace. Therefore, it has
to adapt its teachings to fit the current global situation while keeping true its core values. At the
forefront of this mission is Pope Francis who must also guide the Church through an age where
empiricism and relativism is ubiquitous. Furthermore, he is tasked to provide guidance and insight
regarding contemporary global problems, namely, the deteriorating state of the environment and the
adaptation of the Church s teachings. To address the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This idea in turn renders the question of universal truth no longer relevant since religion seems to lie
at the root of fanaticism . The Church attributes the fear of a common truth as the causality of
relativism since humans identify it with the intransigent demands of totalitarian systems. However, if
the truth is a truth of love , then it can be set free from its enclosure in individuals and become part of
the common good argues the Church. In other words, there is only one truth, a truth of love, which
remains true in every case, improves and sustains its adherents, and precedes all human life. The
Church argues in Lumen fidei that rather from us possessing truth, it is truth which embraces and
possesses us. It is a truth to which all life is subservient whether one acknowledges it or not thus
making relativism invalid. With this concept in mind, the encyclical tackles skepticism caused by
empiricism. It argues that although it is impossible to verify if Christianity has encountered the real
Jesus it is not a reason to discredit the Church because it is not the only way people can attain
knowledge . The other way of attaining knowledge is through others, the encyclical says: Our own
knowledge and self awareness are relational; they are linked to others who have gone before us.
Language is perhaps the best example of the

Summary Of The Osage Firebird
The story The Osage Firebird is a narrative written story. The story tells about Betty Marie Tallchief
and the challenges she faced in to becoming the prima ballerina of the New York City Ballet. The
structure of the story includes cause and effect and chronological order.
The structure of The Osage Firebird is a narrative passage. In addition to this this text also uses
chronological order an example of this is Born in 1925 the author uses this to show how much time
passes in the story. It also uses some cause and effect an example of this is As a child, Betty Marie
Tallchief listened for hours to her grandmother s stories of fire spirits and animals that could talk. This
is the cause and the effect. She never forgot the tales, or the pride, that she learned at her grandmother
s feet. She took pride in her heritage.
Going on to the second paragraph you can see the narrative writing an example. Betty Marie soon
became a local star, performing at rodeos and county fairs. Looking at this it seems as if the author
knew Betty herself telling what he/she knew about her. Another cause and effect can be found here.
One instructor said that despite her talent, she hadn t properly learned the basics. The effect of him

Communism In America Post World War Analysis
For much of the twentieth century following World War II, communism controlled Europe.
Communist influence spread from Russia to many Eastern European countries. Hungary, Poland and
Czechoslovakia were taken over by communist leaders while trying to recover from the war. During
this time, each country suffered greatly. Social and economic consequences ensued. It was not until
the 1980s and 1990s that each of these countries would find the strength to overthrow their communist
leaders and begin to grow into the countries they are today. The economies of Hungary, Poland and
Czechoslovakia were weak after the war. The USSR s control over these countries promised
communism as a solution. At first, people saw the appeal of the working person s government. This,
however, was not what communism really was. The USSR did not support the rights to private
property. The government ran all major businesses. They also decided what goods would be imported
and exported. This caused many difficulties for the people of these countries. ... Show more content on

Standardized Databases And Benchmarks For Experiment
In order to evaluate which approach is better in this field, some standardized databases and
benchmarks for experiment are designed. Many databases are designed for different kinds of methods,
owing that different methods may have different assumptions on shapes. A commonly used database is
99shapes, by Kimia et al. It contains ninety nine planar shapes which classified into nine classes, with
eleven shapes in each. Shapes in the same class are in different variant form, including occluded,
noised, rotated, etc. Other databases including MPEG 7 Shape Dataset [5], Articulated Dataset,
Swedish Leaf Dataset and Brown Dataset are used to have further experiments. Similar to [13],
Precision and Recall is used for benchmark for the reason of fair comparisons. C. Results and

The As A New Way Of Telling Stories
The use of disguises in the arts has been around since the introduction of the theater. When eighteenth
century Britain latched onto the concept in literature, it took on whole different meanings. Disguises
no longer had to be masks or wardrobe changes, they could be taking on different personas or creating
different characters. Disguises had become a staple in literature, and authors were creating their own
worlds with them. In The Imperfect Enjoyment by John Wilmot, Earl of Rochester, disguises allowed
him to create a persona for his work that allows readers to separate the author from the persona. In
Moll Flanders by Daniel Defoe, Defoe acts as both the fake character of Moll Flanders and fake editor

However, once readers delve into the poem, the persona becomes even more apparent. The persona in
this piece exudes confidence, even in light of not being able to perform. While the persona continues
to get angry and frustrated over the situation, which Rochester writes in ( And rage at last confirms me
impotent, ), there is still the sense that the persona is disguising a confidence that Rochester himself
possesses (Rochester, 2206). For Rochester to take on this piece and create such an elaborate persona,
it shows his level of understanding of the poem, as well as his education, both of which would give
him reason to be confident. By employing this in the piece, it allows the writers personality to come
through, while still proving to readers that this is in fact just a persona. The most confident aspect of
the piece is Rochester s approach to the female companion. He unconventionally gives her lines in the
poem, such as All this to love and rapture s due; / Must we not pay a debt to pleasure too? , which not
only creates the idea that the persona did not give up in the poem, but that Rochester is confident in
his ability to create something more powerful from the Avid piece for his persona (Rochester, 2206).
The persona created by Rochester in his work allows him to explore subjects without readers linking
them to him. Defoe is able to use disguises

The Nineteen Five Theses On The Power And Efficacy Of...
When Martin Luther wrote the Ninety Five Theses on the Power and Efficacy of Indulgences in 1517,
he was making a bold and unprecedented move: challenging the Catholic Church. As a German
Catholic priest himself, Luther was not afraid to condemn the Catholic Church, even publicly, which
is how he displayed the original copy of the theses. Luther s issue with the church wasn t personal but
was instead based on what he saw as violation of the religious morals and teachings of God. For
example, he highly disapproved the church s several claims of salvation and forgiveness on earth. The
ninety five theses acted as Luther s tool of protest against the church and also acted as enlightenment
to the masses. Publication of the theses is also often noted as the spark that initiated the Protestant
Reformation after centuries of religious tension buildup. Luther s overall disapproval was against the
corruption and dishonesty of the church (Bishop, p.1). In the theses, Luther outlined what and how he
believed the Catholic Church was doing wrong and how it should be corrected. He argues against the
church s abuse of power and the way it took advantage of its members. What the ninety five theses did
was outline two major points: the selling and buying of indulgences as well as the issue of purgatory
regarding to God, the Catholic Church and the Pope.
The forefront issue in the ninety five theses deals with indulgences. Luther delves deeply into how and
why indulgences were sold by the

A Modern State And Public Water Systems
A modern state is a set of organisations and institutions related to the function of the government; its
role is to provide order, policy, revenue, internal and external representation, and services.1 When the
state fails to govern the commons, that is, the land or resources affecting the whole community,
private companies take over. Within the past several decades privatization of the freshwater sources
and public water systems is widespread worldwide. Yet, private companies provide water guided by
the principle of the financial gain and not based on the equal distribution paradigm, and such approach
makes poverty stricken suffer the most, while the wealthy remain intact. In California, the region of
the world having the seventh largest world s economy,2 billionaires hoard water in the water banks
that have been quietly gifted to them by the government. 3 These water bank systems allow to
accumulate water in the underground reservoirs for water bank holders needs or for purpose of
leasing.4 One such system, Kern Water Bank, a thirty square miles of marshland filled with flocks of
birds,5, is used to water pomegranate trees, a key ingredient in production of the fruit drink by POM
Wonderful, a company owned by the billionaires Stewart and Lynda Resnick.6 Ironically, Kern Water
Bank Authority, technically a public agency, is subsidized by the Paramount Farming Company, a
company with world s largest pistachio and almond production, which is also owned by the Resnicks.

Essay about Global Health and Diabetes
Global health is defined as health problems, issues, or concerns that transcend national borders
(Institute of Medicine, 1997, p. 2). Koplan (2009) proposed a new definition for global health which
he described as an area for study, research and practice that places a priority on improving health and
achieving equity in health for all people worldwide (para, 7). Global health emphasizes transnational
health issues, determinants, and solutions from an interdisciplinary perspective and blends population
health and clinical care.
Global health means many things to many people. In the world view of this writer, global health
describes the study of the health needs of the global community and its effect on the world as a
collective. From ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Forty years later, it is unbelievable that this writer and her siblings would do the same, becoming part
of the brain drain from the West Indies. For this reason, there is an awesome sense of obligation to
give back to the global community. Once I complete my doctoral degree, this writer hopes to obtain an
overseas appointment to work in Africa in chronic diseases. This writer hopes to do work in Africa or
other developing country until retirement, after which she hopes to work as a medical missionary,
teach at the university level, and write novels, devotionals, and short stories. Presently, the global
community struggles under a multitude of epidemics; however, an area of concern for this writer is
globalization and its effect on the prevention of Type 2 diabetes. Globalization is as a process of
interaction and integration among the people, companies, and governments of different nations which
is driven by international trade and investment and aided by information technology (The Lewin
Institute, n.d.). Siegler and Vengat Narayan (2008) propose that globalization facilitates the spread of
risk factors of poor diet, physical inactivity, and tobacco use which lead to four diseases
(cardiovascular disease, some cancers, chronic respiratory disease, and diabetes) which cause more
than 50% of deaths worldwide ( p.2). (WHO, 2011). Diabetes and it complications causes major
morbidity and mortality around the globe and is

Old Spice Commercials
Old Spice vs. New Spice
Commercials and ads are a pesky part of everyday media in the world. They re main objective is to
catch a certain group of peoples attention while interesting them in buying a product. That s what the
ever classic Old Spice commercials do; grab the attention of viewers immediately and efficiently sell
their products. Oddly enough, Old Spice uses women as their primary marketing group by claiming
that using the products will make their man smell like the perfect man . These claims are backed by
two actors, Isaiah Mustafa and Terry Crews, appealing to the different wants of women. Isaiah
Mustafa commercials use more sexual appeal and desires to attract the female audience. They are
calmer and give the viewer a flavor ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The goal of these commercials are to show that the body wash can make the viewers man more
powerful and dominant. Terry Crews has a body builder type physique, which is completely different
from the smaller, more sensual look of Isaiah Mustafa. The perfect man is defined in these set of
commercials by someone who is not afraid to take charge. It attracts women who want the man to play
a real man s role in the relationship instead of a wimp. It also implies that women want a humorous
side to their men. The commercials go over the top to try and gain viewer attention. Not only is Terry
Crews yelling at the audience, but the special effects of explosions and clothes being blown off from
someone else yelling at you is too outrageous for most people to ignore. The commercials always grab
the attention of whoever is in the room while mostly targeting women who want a dominant

Nailya Rinatovna Akhmadullina Mathew Chacko MLS500: Graduate Research and Writing 1 November 2015 Children with special needs should spend most time with non disabled children Children with special needs are slightly different from non disabled kids, but they re should not be a barrier between non disabled children and children with disabilities. Special needs covers a wide range. Some children with physical disabilities use wheelchair, or cane while other children with learning disabilities such as, autism, or emotional disorder. Children with special needs are like all children they want to make friends. Non disability children want respect, love, good education and job of their dream. Children with special needs can do the same things non disabled kid do, but it can take them longer. It requires additional explanation or attention. Parents of children with special needs usually feel isolated and uncertain about their child s future. Schools can help them find support that children are not alone and help is available. Teachers should meet with parents in order to get to know the children better, the specific of their children. Special teachers may come into the class to work one on one with the student, for individualized attention. Change begins with an honest examination of understandings, knowledge and belief. • 3. Similarities Between Macbeth And Banquo A homograph is a word that is spelled the same but can be pronounced differently or have different meanings. Different pronunciations of the word are used based on the context of the sentence it is in. This same idea is also true of people. Two people can have the exact same experiences, yet react to it in completely different ways. Characters in literature often reflect this same phenomenon, foil characters with identical aspects who react differently to circumstance. In Shakespeare s tragic play Macbeth, Banquo serves as a foil character to Macbeth emphasizing Macbeth s unchecked ambition, a fatal flaw, that leads to his ultimate moral decline. At the beginning of the story, Shakespeare establishes the foil between Macbeth and Banquo to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By encouraging Macbeth not to fear his prophecy, Shakespeare establishes that his foil Banquo also has a sense of ambition. Unlike Macbeth, however, Banquo has the ability to control his ambition. These opening scenes establish a foil between Banquo and Macbeth in order to show their shared positive characteristics prior to Macbeth s moral decline. After Macbeth and Banquo receive prophecies, the foil characters start to diverge as Banquo s takes the moral path of goodness while Macbeth takes the immoral path towards his ultimate decline. Banquo and Macbeth have the opportunity to pursue the same path, but because of his unchecked ambition, Macbeth deviates from Banquo s path of good morals. Immediately after the witches tell their prophecies, Banquo s mindset is wary and rational. He warns Macbeth that, oftentimes, to win us to our harm, / the instruments of darkness tell us truths... (1.3.125 126). Banquo is not obsessed with the prophecies and the idea that one day his ancestors will be kings. On the other hand, Macbeth speculates, Two truths are told, / as happy prologues to the swelling act / of the imperial theme. (1.3.130 132) Because two of the three prophecies have come true, Macbeth is blinded by his ambition and seems to fantasize about the idea of being king. I still remember when my grandpa and I would always take her on walks on the beach, and when we would play fetch with my favorite frisbee at the park. My dog, Princess, and I had a very strong bond. She was my best friend. As she grew older, she became very sick and developed some type of cancer. It was a very painful experience for both her and I. The cancer would cause Princess to suffer daily. She wasn t able to eat, sleep, or walk. As it got worse, my grandpa decided that it would be best to put her down so she would no longer suffer. First off, I feel that the correct use of euthanasia is when an animal is in devastating pain, and when the animal is uncomfortable. It can t eat it s usual meals, and when there is nothing to do to help this animal live longer, it is kind to euthanize it. For example, when my dog was dying, she was in excruciating pain, and could not eat. Our choices were either to let her die naturally, suffering for possibly weeks or months of pain, or to assists her with a kind and painless death. In this case, euthanasia was being correctly used. In the Newsela article, Washington Post speaks about how one of the white rhino s from the San Diego Zoo was euthanized because of old age, and another that is in the decision of being euthanized because of a harmful bacterial infection. (Washington Post, Newsela Staff, xx) However, euthanasia can be used incorrectly, in a non humane way. For example, when people have perfectly healthy pets that are euthanized, that is an unethical use of euthanasia. I had a German Shepherd at my aunt s house that was put down because the neighbors children would irritate him so much, that he snapped and attacked the kids. Because of this incident, the neighbors parents would complain about the dog and since they complained so much, they had the dog euthanized. This is a very incorrect use of ... An Investigation into Related Job Stress and Job Satisfaction This research is based on a study done at Northern Caribbean University to investigate the relation between job satisfaction and job stress among teachers. According to French Caplan (1972) job stress is as a result of a misfit between an individual and their environment. Research topic: An investigation into related job stress and job satisfaction Job Stress Among Teachers Related job stress and job satisfaction have been a topic researched by several scholars and now by me. The issue of stress in the teaching profession as caused a serious concern for both faculty and administrators (Schuster, 1986). The increasing stress have been creating profound impact on female teachers (Lease, 1999), and new faculty members (Oslen, 1993). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some researchers have also attributed poor behavior of students as a significant contributor to the daily stress teachers face (Geving, 2007). When one think of teaching one can also think of it as a stressful occupation that many present teachers are quitting more than ever (Smith, 2006). Mastery of task management skills have been found as a critically component that new teachers take a while to grasp which in turn fosters a recipe for stress (Brown, 2005). Researchers like Cox (2007) have found weak administrations and school violence as a major factor which lead to overwhelming stress and departure of many teachers. This finding was also supported by Smith (2006). Smith s findings indicated that teaches are stressed because they don t feel safe in the environment in which they are expected to spend most of their lives. As job commitment increase the level of potential stress decreases (Forrest, 2006). Nevertheless, if there is a low level of commitment then the possibility of being stressed will increase. Researches like Maslach and Jackson (1996) have intended to three major factors that contributes to teachers being burnout. These factors are subjective accomplishments, emotional exhaustion and depersonalization. The Centre for Studies in Inclusive Education regards full inclusion as a human rights issue, it advocates the abolition of segregated (special) schooling, while others believe that a special education school system has no place in a right based framework (Cigman, 2006). Quoting Kenworthy and Whittaker (2000, P.222): Ending the segregation of children is above all, a human rights objective [...] The conviction must be that segregated education is a damaging and archaic practice, incompatible with a civilised society. Towards this end, it crucial that the philosophical tenants of inclusion should be differentiated from persistent orthodoxies of the past, which so far have disguised and masked assumptions inimical to inclusion (Liasidou, 2012). Shaping educational practice The focus on inclusion has risen up the political and statutory agenda, to such an extent that there is widespread evidence of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Importance Of Gender Equality For Men And Women Is it fair to pay a woman less that performs the same duties as a man in the workplace? No. Does equality in the workplace have better results for our overall country s economic performance? Yes. Reaching gender equality is essential for work relations and work performance due to fairness. We all perform more efficiently at work when we feel we are being treated fairly. Equality is attained when we all are put in a position to have access to the same opportunities and receive the same recognition within our work environment. The objective of this equality is to reach equal pay for the same jobs performed by men and women. It is a fact that more women register and graduate from college than men, but still, men with the same education level and experience as women are paid more and receive better opportunities. According to the Congressional Digest, Gains have been made in some areas, research by GAO and others has shown that women s average pay has been, and remains, lower than that of men (2014, p.1). Considering education levels, women with graduate degrees earn just 69.1% of what men with graduate degrees earn, and those with bachelor degrees earn 71.4 % of men s salaries. These facts inform us that women have to reach for more educational qualifications just to attain the same job pay as men. Workplace equality for men and women is an unresolved and a hot topic that impacts the workforce. Men and women should receive the same fairness in the workplace, such as equal pay ... • 9. A Research On Biometrics And Wireless Technique Abstract The main purpose of the paper is assembling and developing an iris recognition system in order to verify uniqueness of the human eye of faculty in a college for attendance management system. This system based on biometrics and wireless technique solves the problem of spurious attendance and the trouble of laying the corresponding network. Here biometric recognition is performed with respect to iris because of its unique biological properties. The iris is unaffected by external environmental factors and remains stable over time. It can make the college staff attendance management more easy and effective. This paper includes image acquisition, the preprocessing system, segmentation, feature extraction and recognition. Keywords Iris recognition; preprocessing system; segmentation; feature extraction. I. INTRODUCTION Traditionally college staff attendance management methods were based on physical key, ID card, password, etc. In all the above mentioned methods there are high chances of keys getting lost, forgery or passwords may be forgotten. Due to these shortcomings and requirement for high level of security have led to development of personal identification on next level using biometrics. Biometrics refers to metrics related to human characteristics. It is used to identify individuals in a group that ae under surveillance. As a cheap, quick diner, the average consumer would not assume that Denny s has many gluten free options. However, by portraying this information through a humorous response, Denny s proves that it is a restaurant where trendy, health conscious people can eat. But beyond that, by responding to such an obscure question from a blogger and using a question about a girlfriend to advertise their gluten free options, Denny s subtly hints at how ridiculous they think the gluten free fad is. With millennials obsessed with the free from movement, such as food free from gluten, soy, and dairy, Denny s has to point out that while gf typically means girlfriend in short hand, it now means gluten free to trendy millennials (Carr, Stop the Free From Fad ). Through this post, Denny s demonstrates how ridiculous it is that gf refers to gluten free instead of girlfriend. Ultimately, this post allows Denny s to relate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Do guns surely lead to crime and violent issues? If so, should governments set restrictive rules for people who own and use the guns, such as provide the mental health reports, and test the shooting skills before purchasing the guns? These questions have been mentioned and discussed over and over again in today s world. We can often hear the news about gun violence, such as a tragic mass shooting somewhere around the world and tons of victims who died from the accident, or husband that shot his wife by accident. Thus, many people, especially people in America, are asking, and even doubting whether or not it is beneficial to own guns at home without a license. Comic books are no longer seen as a primary source of entertainment in popular culture as they were during the Golden Age (1939 1955), the period of exponential growth and prosperity of the comic book industry. During that era, comics served to stimulate patriotism and gave an opportunity for expression that appealed to the youth. Now the law of nonviolence says that violence should be resisted not by counter violence but by nonviolence. This I do by breaking the law and by peacefully submitting to arrest and imprisonment. (Mahatma Gandhi) Since Americas independence until today people try to find different approaches to defeat the inequality and the oppression. An old traditional thought is that violence can only be treated with violence, there is no room left for an analysis of the situation and try to approach it differently. Yet, there are ways like Gandhi quote states if we have to break the law and accept the consequences to counter violence by non violence might as well accept this method; either way people suffer the consequences for breaking the law . On the onther hand, a nonviolence movement will shift people view on the positive side rather than the negative side; demonstrating that nonviolence method will achieve justice in a peaceful way without the consequences of violence. • 29. The Challenges Of Poverty In Education Poverty is an increasing problem in the world that greatly impacts our most vulnerable population. Children who are born into poverty are automatically placed at a disadvantage going into school. Before they are even in the school system they are achieving less than their richer counterparts (Morrissey, Hutchison, Winsler, 2014). The academic achievement gap between students of low income and higher income is staggering, by implementing solutions that address the needs of transportation and meals as well as offering therapy programs and investing time into building strong relationships with students, educators can attempt to bridge the gap. Children coming from low income families are greatly affected by the financial strain within their household. Their parents are often working odd hours, shift work and or multiple jobs leaving these children to take care of themselves. This not only affects the cognitive development, but also may cause tardiness and absences if the children are responsible to get themselves ready and to school. Parents may also find it difficult to manage the pick up and drop off times in combination of their work schedules. When students do not attend school or arrive late they miss out on crucial instructional time from their teachers, as well as social interactions with peers (Morrissey, Hutchison, Winsler, 2014). The Church, plagued by sex scandals and slandered for its rejection of many new ideas, is often dismissed as obsolete and unable to keep pace. Therefore, it has to adapt its teachings to fit the current global situation while keeping true its core values. At the forefront of this mission is Pope Francis who must also guide the Church through an age where empiricism and relativism is ubiquitous. The Church attributes the fear of a common truth as the causality of relativism since humans identify it with the intransigent demands of totalitarian systems. However, if the truth is a truth of love , then it can be set free from its enclosure in individuals and become part of the common good argues the Church. In other words, there is only one truth, a truth of love, which remains true in every case, improves and sustains its adherents, and precedes all human life. The Church argues in Lumen fidei that rather from us possessing truth, it is truth which embraces and possesses us. It is a truth to which all life is subservient whether one acknowledges it or not thus making relativism invalid. With this concept in mind, the encyclical tackles skepticism caused by empiricism. It argues that although it is impossible to verify if Christianity has encountered the real Jesus it is not a reason to discredit the Church because it is not the only way people can attain knowledge . The other way of attaining knowledge is through others, the encyclical says: Our own knowledge and self awareness are relational; they are linked to others who have gone before us. Communist influence spread from Russia to many Eastern European countries. Hungary, Poland and Czechoslovakia were taken over by communist leaders while trying to recover from the war. During this time, each country suffered greatly. Social and economic consequences ensued. It was not until the 1980s and 1990s that each of these countries would find the strength to overthrow their communist leaders and begin to grow into the countries they are today. The economies of Hungary, Poland and Czechoslovakia were weak after the war. The USSR s control over these countries promised communism as a solution. At first, people saw the appeal of the working person s government. This, however, was not what communism really was. The USSR did not support the rights to private property. It contains ninety nine planar shapes which classified into nine classes, with eleven shapes in each. Shapes in the same class are in different variant form, including occluded, noised, rotated, etc. Other databases including MPEG 7 Shape Dataset [5], Articulated Dataset, Swedish Leaf Dataset and Brown Dataset are used to have further experiments. When eighteenth century Britain latched onto the concept in literature, it took on whole different meanings. Disguises no longer had to be masks or wardrobe changes, they could be taking on different personas or creating different characters. Disguises had become a staple in literature, and authors were creating their own worlds with them. In The Imperfect Enjoyment by John Wilmot, Earl of Rochester, disguises allowed him to create a persona for his work that allows readers to separate the author from the persona. However, once readers delve into the poem, the persona becomes even more apparent. The persona in this piece exudes confidence, even in light of not being able to perform. While the persona continues to get angry and frustrated over the situation, which Rochester writes in ( And rage at last confirms me impotent, ), there is still the sense that the persona is disguising a confidence that Rochester himself possesses (Rochester, 2206). For Rochester to take on this piece and create such an elaborate persona, it shows his level of understanding of the poem, as well as his education, both of which would give him reason to be confident. By employing this in the piece, it allows the writers personality to come through, while still proving to readers that this is in fact just a persona. The most confident aspect of the piece is Rochester s approach to the female companion. He unconventionally gives her lines in the poem, such as All this to love and rapture s due; / Must we not pay a debt to pleasure too? , which not only creates the idea that the persona did not give up in the poem, but that Rochester is confident in his ability to create something more powerful from the Avid piece for his persona (Rochester, 2206). • 41. The Nineteen Five Theses On The Power And Efficacy Of... When Martin Luther wrote the Ninety Five Theses on the Power and Efficacy of Indulgences in 1517, he was making a bold and unprecedented move: challenging the Catholic Church. As a German Catholic priest himself, Luther was not afraid to condemn the Catholic Church, even publicly, which is how he displayed the original copy of the theses. Luther s issue with the church wasn t personal but was instead based on what he saw as violation of the religious morals and teachings of God. For example, he highly disapproved the church s several claims of salvation and forgiveness on earth. The ninety five theses acted as Luther s tool of protest against the church and also acted as enlightenment to the masses. Publication of the theses is also often noted as the spark that initiated the Protestant Reformation after centuries of religious tension buildup. Luther s overall disapproval was against the corruption and dishonesty of the church (Bishop, p.1). In the theses, Luther outlined what and how he believed the Catholic Church was doing wrong and how it should be corrected. He argues against the church s abuse of power and the way it took advantage of its members. What the ninety five theses did was outline two major points: the selling and buying of indulgences as well as the issue of purgatory regarding to God, the Catholic Church and the Pope. Within the past several decades privatization of the freshwater sources and public water systems is widespread worldwide. Yet, private companies provide water guided by the principle of the financial gain and not based on the equal distribution paradigm, and such approach makes poverty stricken suffer the most, while the wealthy remain intact. In California, the region of the world having the seventh largest world s economy,2 billionaires hoard water in the water banks that have been quietly gifted to them by the government. 3 These water bank systems allow to accumulate water in the underground reservoirs for water bank holders needs or for purpose of leasing.4 One such system, Kern Water Bank, a thirty square miles of marshland filled with flocks of birds,5, is used to water pomegranate trees, a key ingredient in production of the fruit drink by POM Wonderful, a company owned by the billionaires Stewart and Lynda Resnick.6 Ironically, Kern Water Bank Authority, technically a public agency, is subsidized by the Paramount Farming Company, a company with world s largest pistachio and almond production, which is also owned by the Resnicks. ...
