Wild boars were originally brought over by the Spanish in 1539 as food aboard their ships and in the
new lands, but now they re taking over much of the US. There are an estimated five to six million wild
boars in the United States with an estimated one million in Florida alone. Spreading rapidly with no
intention of slowing down, these wild boars are causing devastation to the native environment
throughout the United States with their destructive habits. The US government has precautions put
into place to try and control aspects of the boar population, but they re negating it with regulations that
are benefiting the boars rather than the general population and native species. There are measures that
need to be put into place in order to control the wild boar population and the destruction that comes
with them.
The native Flora and Fauna of the United States is being threatened by numerous invasive species, one
of which is considered to be the most destructive. The wild boar is known to dwell in 35 states and is
costing the US an estimated $1.5 billion each year in damages. Eating almost everything it sets its
eyes on, boars dig up anything it desires to eat in a process called rooting. When a wild boar does a
rooting behavior to dig up food it destabilizes the soil surface which leads to surface erosion. The
surface erosion removes the top layer of soil that is responsible for having the richest organic matter
leading to the soil losing nutrients needed to support plant life. Wild board also feed on a large
quantity of native vegetation leaving the native plants not enough time to fully recover before being
trampled over again by the damaging heathens. Males also tusks small trees removing the bark layer
on an area of the tree in order to mark their territory and display their dominance. This tusking

Furthermore, Tim Burton is well known for his use of close ups throughout his films. Not only does
this technique bring attention to the characters emotions, but it helps these emotions flow throughout
the audience. In the film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory we watch as the families row down the
river, suddenly Charlie asks Willy Wonka if he remembers his childhood. At first Willy Wonka s face
fills with excitement as he says, Oh boy, do I! Then after a second of hesitation he asks himself,

North Tower Of The World Trade Center
On September 11, 2001, at 8:45 AM, Eastern Time, American Airlines flight 111, headed from Boston
smashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center in New York. An hour later, a second plane
crashed into the south tower at 550 miles an hour. The south tower only lasted 56 minutes, collapsing
straight down, killing thousands of people, and creating a dust cloud that sent people scurrying for
cover in the streets below. The north tower didn t last much longer, also collapsing straight down,
setting surrounding buildings ablaze with it. A third plane hit the pentagon, and a fourth plane,
destined for the white house, was retaken by passengers and crashed in a field in northern
Pennsylvania. Over 3,000 people lost their lives in a single day, making the 9/11 attacks the most
deadly terrorist action in history. America, needless to say, was hurt, and enraged. On September 20,
2001, President George W. Bush declared war on terrorism in a speech to congress, saying, after
listing demands to the Taliban, If you do not hand over the terrorists, you will share in their fate. This
began a decades long fight against terrorism in the Middle East. Since 2001, Al Qaeda, the terrorist
group who carried out the 9/11 attacks has been all but vanquished. However, Al Qaeda was by no
means alone in its extremist views of Islam. Since then, other groups have risen. The most notable of
these has risen quite recently, coming to America s attention in the past 2 years. While the demands
