My Three Most Important Goals In My Life
Goals are something that people set themselves and work hard to complete. These goals can be
something you want to complete in your life. Everyone has many goals they are fighting to get
to. I have many goals that I wanted to do throughout my life. In this essay, I will write about three
most important goals in my life. The first goal is education, and the second goal is family and the
third goal are to build my own house.
I think the most important goal in the life for everyone is education. Education is very important
because if you do not have a good education it will be hard to get a job. In many countries, it is
very hard to get a good education, and I feel very proud to live in a country where it is easy to get
an education. Many people think education is only reading and writing, but it is more than that.
Education gives us knowledge of the world around us and changes it into something better. The
main reason education is important for me is that I want to get a job I like to work with. I hope that I

I think parents to the children want the best for their child. It can be difficult to marry someone
because you have to find the right person you will share your life with. I like to take care of
child, so I hope I will become a mother for a child. After I have found a family, I want to build
my house. I like the interior, and it is a very big part of my life because I like to watch programs
which are about interior and I like to watch programs which are about the house and how the
interior is in the house. I often buy things I can have in my room, and I am the person how often,
choose which furniture and things we have in the house. I have already decided how the room in
the house will look like and which furniture I will have in the house. I think it is important to have
hobbies which you like to work

Dangers Of West Nile Virus
The distribution of exotic animals has influenced the infection among humans concerning West
Nile Virus. West Nile Virus is an infection that can cause serious disease in humans. West Nile
Virus is a seasonal epidemic that is in North America. It flares up in the summer and continues into
the fall. Many people are interested in having exotic birds as pets, but because of this they can
contract West Nile Virus. The infected mosquito can spread West Nile Virus to humans after they
are infected with the virus after feeding on infected birds. The excitement of having an exotic pet
can sometimes outweigh the possible risks of infections from the animal or mosquitoes that have
been exposed to them. West Nile Virus can be prevented by using

In this project, I will describe a scenario in which I am developing within my own ministry to
engage people in helping them think theologically. The Church today is suffering greatly because
many people are not engaged in Scripture, practicing spiritual disciplines, or thinking theologically.
I hope to create a pattern to correct that and give them the ability to not just learn a little each week
from a sermon, but take everything that comes at them and learn from it, while giving them the
ability to teach others as well.
Examining three models found in this week s reading, Aware Engage Apply (Grenz and Olson 129
130), Attending Asserting Acting (Christian Thinking) and Analysis Reflection Application
(Umbel), each three fold model had the same basic principle: intake of knowledge, processing that
knowledge, and using that knowledge. In order for this to be effective, I will need to address each
of the three legs so that everything remains balanced. First, the intake of knowledge (other models
use awareness, analysis, or attending), must be biblical sound. If people are to think theologically,
they must be taught theologically first, which means we must teach them to Word of Godin its
entirety, not just select Scriptures to back up our thought of the day.
The second leg of thinking is the processing of that knowledge; once a believer receives
knowledge, he or she must know how to process that information in light of God and the Scriptures.
While everyone thinks

Gender Equality In Iron Jawed Angels
Tuesday, November 8 2016 was the first time I was old enough to vote for the presidential
election. After watching Iron Jawed Angels, I realized how much I have taken for granted in my
life and how incredibly grateful I am for all of the women that have fought for women equality
including; Alice Paul and Lucy Burns. There are still on going debates in todays society about
genderequality, but it s crazy to see how 100 plus years ago some of the rights women have now,
going to school and voting, didn t exist. In 1912, Alice Paul and Lucy Burns fought together
among other women for the right to vote. They fought for not only white women, but women of
all races. Throughout Iron Jawed Angels the women fought hard, even during the time of war
and while they were in jail, for their rights and equality. It wasn t until August 26, 1920 that
women could vote. Before that women could not attend college or pursue training for most
professions (Woods, 57). During the movie, Alice Paul was creating a friendship with a male
who taught her how to drive which is interesting because in todays society almost every women
knows how to drive or has the privilege to drive but back then only men drove or could even afford
a car because they had the right to work. In the movie Iron Jawed Angels, Senetor Leighton and
his family are described as a stereotypical family during their time period. He provides for his wife
and two kids while, his wife stays at home and doesn t work.

The Communication Model Of Interpersonal Communication
Passing another student on the way to class and gesturing with a friendly wave, interacting with a
server in a local restaurant, or discussing ideas and pop culture with a roommate all seem like
entirely unrelated, daily interactions that happen in a typical college student s day. However, each
daily interaction, whether in the life of a college student or other person, follows a specific pattern
of order that helps people to perceive and interact with the environment and other individual around
them. This process, known as the communicationmodel, is an important facet of human interaction
that helps to explain the processes involved in communicating with people and that helps to reveal
important details about effective interpersonal communication.
The communication model consists of eight different parts, which as they apply to every
interpersonal reaction, are often referred to as universals. Perhaps, the first and most important
universal of communication is the message, or the idea one tries to communicate to another in a
conversation or interaction. As every interaction hinges around a central message, all the other
elements of the communication model revolve around the sending and/or receiving of the
message itself. Therefore, the individual who sends a message to another is known as the sender,
while the individual who receives the message is referred to as the receiver. For example, when
alarm clock pierces the early morning silence, it becomes the sender, communicating a message to
the person who hears its shrill tones, the receiver, that he or she should wake up.
However, the communication process does not end with the reception of the message. Oftentimes,
the receiver responds to the sender of the message, which is called feedback, and prompts the
continuation of the communication process. Continuing with the previous example, after a
sleeping person hears an alarm clock, he or she responds to its message most often by letting out
an audible gasp of dread or by forcefully pressing the snooze button, which prompts the alarm to
issue a second message, either of momentary silence or of continued noise. In this way, both the
sender and receiver transmit messages to one another, playing both roles in

Fan Pathology Research Paper
According Jenson, there are two representing types of fan pathologies: obsessed loners and
frenzied or hysterical crowd. At first, I would like define each type of fan pathology. First type
of fan pathology is the obsessed loners type of fan. Jenson wrote the obsessed loners are
individuals achieve public notoriety by stalking or threatening or killing the celebrity (Lewis,
1992, p11). There was a remarkable obsessed loner type fan became notorious for shooting the
former Beatle in 1980. December 8, 1980, John Lennon, the former Beatle, was gunned down
outside the Dakota Building in New York. TV networks in the United States interrupted their
Monday Night Football broadcast to announce news of Lennon s death (MailOnline, 2015). The

Jenson wrote, these individuals are weeping teen at the airport glimpsing a rock star, or the
roaring, maniacal sports fan rioting at a soccer game (Lewis, p.12). I think this is the type of
fans that people often imagine by hearing the word fan . Within frenzied or hysterical crowd,
there is two big categories; entertainment fans and sports fans. The point of being frenzied or
hysterical crowd is to feel solidarity and to form a community outside of their everyday life.
According to the ethnography of Bruce Springsteen fans, the author quoted a meaning of being the
Springsteen fan; Ruth Finnegan (1989) has pointed out the importance of people s devotion to
certain musical worlds , in which they play in or follow a local musical group or listen to certain
musical genre, as a way to shape personal and communal identity (Cavicchi, 1998, p.4). In addition
to this general explanation of music fans, Cavicchi explained, among Springsteen fans, the idea of
connection means more than just having an affinity for Springsteen s music; it means making the
music a deeply felt part of one s life, of having an ongoing, shared relationship with Springsteen the
artist (Cavicchi, p.41). Thus among of all Springsteen fans, being a Springsteen fan means not only
they like his music, but Springsteen and his music is significant factors to shape their personal and
communal

Mesozoic Vertebrates
Mesozoic vertebrates of Texas have received less attention than Paleozoic. In the early 1900s E.
C. Case collected and reported amphibians and reptiles found in Triassic sediments along the
eastern edge of the High Plains, and Sankar Chatterjee of Texas Tech University has also made
important discoveries there. Notable are skeletons of phytosaurs. These aquatic reptiles, up to thirty
feet in length, had elongated snouts armed with thick, sharply pointed teeth. Their habits were
probably much like those of modern crocodiles. Some lightly armored forms were not unlike
crocodiles in appearance, except for their long, hook nosed snouts, but some armored types of
phytosaurs may have looked almost like arthropods. Through work centered at the University of
Texas at Austin, parts of the Trans Pecos region have yielded important fossils of Cretaceous
reptiles, among them enormous crocodiles and the largest known pterosaur. Much of Central Texas
probably contains bones of Cretaceous vertebrates, but the land is so heavily vegetated that
discoveries are few. However, remains of dinosaurs, plesiosaurs, and even primitive mammals have
been found and are preserved at the University of Texas and Southern Methodist University. Fossil
vertebrates, especially mammals, of the middle to late Tertiary and Pleistocene ages abound in
Texas. Much of the fossil history of horses, camels, rhinoceroses, and other kinds of both living and

The Principle Of Affinity Chromatography
The objective of this lab was to learn the principle of affinity chromatography by isolating a
carbohydrate binding protein from an extract of jack bean meal.
The protein that was used for this lab came from jack bean meal, and it is identified as
Concanavalin A, or Con A. This is a lectin proteinthat has the ability to bind with glucose, but it is
not a glycoprotein. Furthermore, the monomeric molecular weight of this protein is 25,5001.
Concanavalin A also exists as a dimer and a tetramer, and this depends upon the pH of this
substance. Finally, Con A requires a transition metal ion such as manganese as well as calcium ions
for binding purposes.
1.Begin by inserting a cheesecloth into a syringe and pressing the cheesecloth to the very bottom of
the column.
2.Pour 10 ml of the affinity gel into the column. Allow a few minutes for the solution to harden and
transform into a gel like consistency.
3.Fill the rest of the column with NaCl, and do so by pouring the solution along the interior side of
the column. This allows the gel to become moist.
4.Next, gather 0.5 ml of the protein extract and save this portion in a separate container. This will
be used for the preparation of the membrane.
5.Load the remaining protein mix into the column, and this will begin to bind within the column.
Once the solution has settled, fill the column with NaCl a total of four times; as the wash is
flowing through, collect and label the protein solution in fractions, and save for the

Omega 3 Fatty Acid Analysis
Omega 3 fatty acids Omega 3 fatty acids help to reduce inflammation, reduces the risk of heart
disease and cardiovascular disease and improve brain function. Omega 3 fatty acids naturally occur
in cold water oily fish, flax seeds, canola oil and pumpkin seeds. Salmon has the highest levels of
omega 3 s. Add 2 3 servings of fish per week to increase your omega 3 fatty acids. If your not a fan
of fish, fish oil supplements can be added to your diet.
Citrus fruits Citrus fruits contain vitamin C, which helps with the formation of collagen. Collagen
helps to build and repair blood vessels, tendons, ligaments, and bone. Vitamin C is also an
antioxidant, which fights against free radicals and inflammation. Citrus fruits include oranges,

Ginger is very versatile so it can be added to foods as a spice or drank in a tea. If you prefer
ginger supplements are also available to help reduce inflammation. Always make sure consuming
ginger doesn t counteract with any medications that you are already taking.
Olive oil Olive oil, especially extra virgin olive oil contains anti inflammatory compounds to help
reduce inflammation by inhibiting its ability to flourish. Replace margarine and butter with a
tablespoon of olive oil. However, don t overdo it because olive oil is very calorie dense.
Pineapple Pineapple is rich in vitamin C and bromelain. Both are vital in decreasing pain and
swelling caused by inflammation. Pineapple is versatile in the way you can eat it and can be
added to many dishes. Bromelain is also available in supplement form.
Kelp Kelp has anti inflammatory properties due to a complex carbohydrate called fucoidan. It also
is high in fiber causing a slow digestion and promotes weight loss.
Spinach Spinach is full of vitamins and minerals and antioxidants such as carotenoids and vitamin
E. This reduces inflammation by destroying free radicals.
Broccoli Broccoli and its close relative cauliflower contain vitamin C and calcium. Its antioxidant
powers act as an

Preventing Musculoskeletal Disorders In The Workplace
The Seriousness of MSD Occupational health hazards are conditions in a workplace environment
that pose a threat to the physical or mental health of an employee working there. Unfortunately,
occupational health hazards are very common, however, providentially; many organizations have
been established in order to prevent these tragedies from occurring. One of these great organizations
is the Worker s Health and Safety Centre; Ontario s designated health and safety training center. In
recent times, WHSC has taken specific initiative on taking action to prevent the occupation
ergonomic hazard, causing musculoskeletal disorder. Due to the fact that Musculoskeletal Disorders
may cause employees to suffer from uncomfortable pains to developing critical disabilities, it is
extremely important for employers to ensure that they eliminate any hazards in the working
environments, and train their employees. An ergonomic hazard in the workplace can occur when a
worker repeats the same movement, or engages in stationary/ uncomfortable positions over an
extended period of time. The reason why employers must take such an initiative to prevent their
employees from developing a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Preventing Musculoskeletal Disorders can often be as simple as physically removing the hazard
from the environment in which the employee is exposed to, or making a simple change! For
example, in an office setting, correcting an employee s posture when sitting at a computer can
prevent them from developing muscular exhaustion in their lower back, shoulders and neck.
Employers must ensure that their employees are able to recognize the signs/symptoms in order to
seek treatment before developing a worse condition. The employees must also be able to identify
any MSD hazards in their environment, and above all, be knowledgeable about the information on
the equipment they are working with, so that they may request for adjustments to protect their

Why Don t We Complain Essay
Argumentative Essay: Why Don t We Complain? Throughout once in your life, you may have been
confronted with a situation where you accept inconveniences instead of taking action. According to
William F. Buckley, American people everywhere have refrained from trying to rectify irrational
vexations . In Buckley s essay, Why Don t We Complain? he explains some situations that he was
involved in where no one would complain to repair an uncomfortable situation. Throughout the
essay, Buckley uses his experiences and strong reasoning to show why he believes that the
American people do not complain. Buckley attempts to support that the apathy that Americans
would accept inconveniences instead of taking action is the cause of many Americans ... Show more

Should people be afraid to complain or should they always be free minded about an unjust cause?
The second reason why I agree with Buckley s ideas about assertiveness and helplessness is
because throughout time many inventions are that replace simple jobs that cause a sense of
laziness. The people will often portray themselves as lazy in society as new technological
inventions are created to do their tasks. Many people will then develop a habit due to them
relying on other things to do their task for them. For example, back then when machines weren t
created, people did manual labor and relied on themselves, but now as we rely on newly made
machines; we rely on the equipment to do our work. This forms a habit for Americans as we
begin to rely on other things than ourselves. The third reason why I agree with Buckley s ideas
about assertiveness and helplessness is shown through as Buckley states that the government is
taking rights away from the people. He states, Every year, whether the Republican or the
Democratic Party is in office, more and more power drains away from the individual to feed vast
reservoirs in far off places; and we have less and less say about the shape of events which shape our
future . He also says that we accept the government s power to hold upon us . The government is
responsible for the great number of American deaths in Korea and is now responsible for billions
of tax dollars spent every year. However,

Desdemona As An Outsider In Shakespeare s Othello
In William Shakespeare s Othello, Othello himself is seen as the obvious outsider because of his
race. However, his own wife Desdemona can be reasoned to be just as much of an outcast, even
though she s described as the perfect woman. She affected the actions and feelings of other
characters by being young, innocent and easily manipulated, and by being so visually striking.
Desdemona s mindset is easily swayed and by the other characters, showing how young and
inexperienced she is with living as someone s wife. Her being so innocent and good hearted to the
other characters seemed good at first but it was ultimately her downfall, as her being the way

Roderigo is completely in love with her just based on her looks. Iago mentions this mentions
this himself when he tells Roderigo: It is merely a lust of the blood and a permission of the will.
Come, be a man (1.3.377 378) Even the other characters can see that Roderigo s infatuation with
Desdemona is all in his head, as he does not speak to her at all throughout the play, nor does he
ever mention her personality as what attracts him to her. Even though Desdemona denied that
there was anything between her and Cassio in the play, Cassio was much more gentlemanly to
her than he was to anything female character. One can see how highly he thinks of her when he
states: She s a most exquisite lady... Indeed she s a most fresh and delicate creature ( 2.3.20 22).
Then he goes on to say: An inviting eye, and yet methinks right modest... She is indeed
perfection. (2.3.26 29). Here it is seen that after greeting Desdemona when she arrives at Cyprus,
he describes her as the perfect woman, when he didn t extend to Emilia the same courtesy. Iago
himself is written to seem as if he hates women, but even he admits to himself how beautiful
Desdemona is, as seen: Now, I do love her too, Not out of absolute lust though peradventure I
stand accountant for as great a sin But partly led to diet my revenge, For that I do suspect the lusty
Moor Hath leaped into my seat. The thought whereof Doth, like a poisonous mineral, gnaw my
inwards, And nothing can or shall content my soul Till I am evened with him, wife for wife
(2.1.313 321). As he felt this way about Desdemona, she heightened his jealousy since Iago thought
Othello had both Desdemona and Emilia. Desdemona influenced others just because she was
visually so strikingly different than the other

Manga
Comics didn t interest me much until a few years ago: long Indian summers spent reading Archie
digests out of utter boredom had convinced me that there wasn t much to the form. It was only
when a friend introduced me to Japanese comics (or manga) three years ago that I began to realize
that the synthesis of image and text could produce complex layers of meaning, which shifted from
reading to reading. In Japan, mangahas spread and diversified as a dominant (almost the dominant)
medium in mass culture The huge audience for manga in Japan has allowed artists to diversify into
many different types, the two primary classifications being shonen boys manga and shoujo girls

Initially, I concentrated on buying a wide range of manga to sample rather than focusing on
specific series. In this way, I acquired random volumes of series such as Gensomaden Saiyuki,
Neon Genesis Evangelion and Revolutionary Girl Utena. Once I got an idea of which types of
manga I found most appealing, I began to focus on acquiring several volumes of a particular
series. For example, I now own all of the Banana Fish volumes that have so far been translated into
English.
Currently, I am eager to acquire volumes of series such as Banana Fish, Paradise Kiss and Mars,
which are all similar to apprentice novels or novels of awakening, in which the characters find
their place in society through various experiences. I am also researching other boys love artists,
such as Motoni Modoru. She borrows from several genres, including horror and Taisho period
historical novels, to produce atmospheric thrillers. More generally, I would like to focus on titles
that are more creative and unusual than the run of the mill boys love story. One example is the
mafia thriller cum horror story Face, which I acquired last October.
Lastly, the popularity of manga and Japanese animation (or anime) in America has inspired a large
number of aspiring American artists to produce work that is written in English, but incorporates
shoujo manga techniques of drawing and story telling. This movement has resulted in several
interesting collaborations and

Functions Of A Operating System
Operating Systems, in the most simplest of terms, it is the chief program that manages all the
hardwares and softwares. It takes control for every process, file, section of memory and device.
They are like the middle man who arranges business deals between other people but in this case,

There are four essential managers of the operating system and they all work together, as a team, to

in 1987, is the market leader in selling gourmet coffee (Starbucks, 2008). Starbuck s main objective
is to establish itself as the most respected and recognized coffee brand in the world (Fact Sheet,

Fair trade coffee also bypasses the coffee trader, therefore giving the producer higher profits. Fair
trade coffee growers are guaranteed a minimum price of $1.26 per pound for their coffee. If the
world coffee prices rise above this floor price, farmers will be paid a small premium $0.05 per
pound above market price (Coffee Research Institute, 2006). This contributes to helping coffee
farmers stay out of debt and provides some stability for both producers and sellers of coffee to an
unstable market (Coffee Research Institute, 2006). Environmentally, the main negative impacts
from coffee production include habitat conversion, soil degradation, pesticide use, and declines in
water quality (WWF, 2005). The most serious impact of coffee cultivation continues to be the
conversion of natural forest areas into flatlands in order to plant coffee. Unfortunately, a driving
force of habitat conversion is the increasing market for high grade specialty coffees (WWF, 2005).
Many companies, however, like Starbucks, work with local farmers to ensure the best economic
return and least detrimental environmental impacts as possible. It is true that recent trends in the
coffee industry point to a decline in demand and sales revenues; in general, coffee

Recommendation
The mission of the hotel is to cater to a professional clientele who is likely to increase the
revenues of Amber Inn. These kinds of patrons do not worry about price since most of the times
they are covered by the Company they work for and they tend to have a prolonged stay. The
necessities of those customers are more regular than the individuals that are on a vacation trip; thus,
there is no difficulty to find out what do to. For instance, internet services would suffice those on a
business trip whereas those on a leisure trip would worry about entertainment such as live music.
Some researchers suggested that, the publicity is unnecessary in determining which hotel to choose.

How Did James Madison Contribute To The Constitution
James Madison is often considered the Father of the Constitution because many of his ideas
influenced the Constitution of the United States. Though the entirety of the Constitution was a
result of months of deliberation among the delegates, James Madison created important
contributions. Many of Madison s contributions intended for the constitution to protect the citizens
of the U.S. from tyranny of the government. James Madisonbelieved there was many forms of
tyranny and wanted to protect the citizens against all types. Madison believed the most popular
and well known form of tyranny was tyranny of the government. In The Federalist Papers: No. 10,
James Madison expresses himself by stating There are again two methods of removing the causes
of faction: the one, by destroying the liberty which is essential to its existence... By this, James is

The Death Penalty Is An Amazing Waste Of Taxpaying Money...
Final Judgment Death Row

Mr. Frank Hall
March 24, 2016
Abstract
There is no way to tell of the thousands of people that have been executed, which were innocent.
Since 1973 more than 150 people have been released from prison with evidence of innocence.
Studies have shown that the death penalty has zero to no effect on violent crimes, and it is an
amazing waste of taxpaying money. They were wrongfully imprisoned due to mistaken
eyewitness testimony, faulty forensic science, and false confession as a result of wrongdoing by
the police and finally racial biased. That was just a minimal list of reasons a case could go
wrong. There are many reasons why someone would be against the death penalty. For example,
there are strong religious beliefs that one might have, the death penalty is and expression of the
absolute power of the state. As of October 2015 there have been over 1,414 individuals in this
country alone lethally executed. In the issue of the death penalty it all goes back to whether the
death penalty deters future crime. I feel that one solution to this issue would be to get rid of the
death penalty altogether.
Keywords: death penalty, execution, prison, innocent.
Jailhouse Statistics
A 2009 poll commissioned by the DPIC found police chiefs ranked the death penalty last among
ways to reduce violent crime. It also shows that the death penalty is the least efficient way to spend

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Co-Marketing

are more successful than co marketing agreement.
A successful joint venture must increase the value of its individual partners. Additionally, if the
joint venture is highly reliant on one of the partners and mostly building value in that partner, there
is going to be an opportunity for the others to connect their equity in the joint venture that is the key
partner of the venture. This kind of events cannot take place in co marketing so it makes joint

Evil Stereotypes Of Gay Marriage And Gay Rights
It wasn t until my best friend and I sat on the empty curb of a recently closed Baskin Robbins that
I realized all of my preconceptions of homosexual marriage and gay rights were miserably wrong
and that from then on, my beliefs on the topic were going to change drastically.
That night, my best friend confessed he was gay and his revelation was something my Catholic
morals could not digest. I was born into a homophobic family and raised into believing that
homosexuals were associated with evil. But how could this be? One of the nicest people I knew
was gay? His words were so alien I felt like I was somewhere else and later, I pitied him for being
gay. I pitied him so much I would pray for him, treating homosexuality like it was an illness because
that was what I was raised to believe. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Is Religion Good Or Harm Essay
Religion is and always has been a central pillar of society, However this does not mean it is a
force for good in the world. Richard Dawkins identifies religion as being viral and harmful, much
like a disease. He is correct as Religion has infected more people than any other thought or disease
and has killed millions of people, oppressed a variety of groups for centuries, and stunted societal
growth on multiple occasions. Some people may disagree and claim that religionbrings about many
great qualities in people, which is not incorrect. However it has brought about far more harm than
good over the course of history.
As of 2010, Pew Research estimates there to be 2.2 billion Christians[1] and 1.6 billion
Muslims[2]. These 2 groups comprise almost half of the world s population and that is not even
considering the hundreds of other faiths that are still practiced today. Pew also estimates that there
are only about 1.1 billion people who are not affiliated with any faith[3], but some of these people
still hold basic religious beliefs and are just not associated with a specific religion. In other words,

During 1607 1753, Colonial America was founded. Starting on 1492, when Christopher
Columbus discovered land beyond the England, people were launched into a new life. A group
of puritans departed from England to escape the growing stress of the English government.
Searching for freedom, in both religion and government, they sailed towards America. Their main
goal was not only to start e new life, but also to convert the savages; Indians. With this move they
experienced many difficulties. Upon starting a new life, they had to learn a new way of political

grammar lessons. The eighty page book taught the alphabet as well as moral and spiritual
principles. After graduating from high school, you could go to college. However, in order to be
accepted, there were strict requirements that one had to follow. Every student should be able to
read, construe, and parse Tully, Virgil, and the Greek NT; and to write true Latin in prose and to
understand common arithmetic. Nevertheless, not only will they have to accomplish all these,
but they also have to live a religious, blameless life in God. Every student was forced to
constantly pray in the school hallways every morning and evening; as well as read a passage of
scripture. The professors were to take turns preaching from God s Word in the halls.
Additionally, if any student were to act rudely or profane the Sabbath, they would be harshly
disciplined. Unfortunately, the government governed even their schools strictly. Colonial
America s social life was probably the most interesting aspect of their new lives. They had two
main laws by which to live by; The Moral Law and the Law of Grace. According to the Moral Law,
every man was to love his neighbor, and help in times of want or distress. However the Law of

Summary Of Leslie Mormon Silko s Ceremony Ceremony
Ceremony by Leslie Mormon Silko is a work of Native American literature. The novel itself is a
ceremony of healing for Tayo, a World War II veteran, who returns to the Laguna Pueblo
Reservation. Tayo turns to the tribe s powerful ceremonies and stories for the healing process. Silko
believes, to Native Americans, a story is part of a web that entangles all the ceremonies, beliefs, and
traditions of their culture. By containing these ceremonies and rituals, stories have the power to
heal. I agree with the author. Native American culture is unique in its stories. Stories are used to
pass down customs, beliefs, and history to future generations. Furthermore, healing stories allow the
people to connect and enable a mending of both individuals and culture. The positive themes of
healing stories hold the power to mend to spirit, strengthen, and empower. Throughout Ceremony,

culture. Moreover, the idea that stories contain the ceremonies that can heal individuals and
communities is reiterated, proving it s significance. Additionally, Silko uses anecdote to prove
the message of the power of stories. Not only do stories preserve tradition and culture when
shared, but stories also give strength. For example, a story was told to build strength during a
difficult time when Tayo was fighting in the jungle during the war. As Silko states, He made a
story for all of them, a story to give them strength. The words of the story poured out of his
mouth as if they had substance, pebbles, and stone extending to hold the corporal up, to keep his
knees from buckling, to keep his hands from letting go of the blanket (Silko 10 11). This shows
how words and stories are frequently used to help people overcome difficulties. Moreover, the
healing aspects of ceremony are strengthened by the sharing of old

The Threat Of The Terror Group Isis
In December of 2011, the United States withdrew all remaining combat troops from Iraq. After
eight years of war, the United States turned the responsibility for the defense of Iraq over to the
Iraqi security forces. Iraq immediately saw the rise of sectarian violence among Sunnis and Shia.
This nation also saw the reemergence of the insurgency known as Al Qaeda in Iraqin the northwest
portion of the country. The problems in Iraq grew with the igniting of a civil war in the
neighboring nation of Syria. This civil war allowed for members of Al Qaeda in Iraq to spread to
and develop in an unstable area and emerging as the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, ISIS. Within
twelve months, ISIS grew by creating of an organizational structure, engaging in violent military
campaigns, developing an economy and establishing successful recruitment techniques. ISIS now
controls large swaths of territory in both northwest Iraq and Eastern Syria. Political leadership in
the United Statesis now debating what action should be taken to combat the terror group ISIS. To
prevent ISIS from harming our national security, to stop the threat of international terrorism and to
stop the destruction of Iraq and its people The United States should send ground troops to Iraq to
combat ISIS.

Sitis Inversus Essay
First seen and recognized in 1643 by Marco Severino, dextrocardia with situs inversus is a rare
condition that affects 1 in 10,000 people, or 0.1% of the population. The word, sitis inversus is a
shortened latin version of sitis inversus viscerum, which means inverted position of the internal
organs. The heartand organs are completely flipped (or mirrored ) opposite of what they normally
should be. Even though it s a rare condition, those who do have it can have some health issues that
can be serious, and others may not have issues at all.
It is a congenital condition and believed to be transmitted by autosomal recessive genes from the

Essay on The Importance of Learning to Write Proficiently
You have been writing ever since you learned your first letters. From writing a sentence in first
grade to five page essays your senior year. It feels like your pen has never left the paper, and the
reality of it is, is that it will not be leaving anytime soon. Most occupations will require you to
write whether it be an expense report or an e mail, ergo, it would be in your best interest to be
knowledgable of how to write well and all the rules that come along with that. Writingis and always
will be important because you will always be writing, regardless of if you enjoy to or not. With that

Without punctuation a sentence may say, Do you want to eat Dad? What you actually meant was,
Do you want to eat, Dad? Without the comma the subject was eating the father, but with the comma
the subject was asking the father a question. Both sentences had the same words, yet that small
mark of punctuation made all the difference. Along with punctuation comes run on sentences.
Without punctuation the reader would not know when to pause and would just keep reading.
Punctuation is key when avoiding that deep, dark path of run on sentences. Run on sentences are
extremely unprofessional and confuse the reader. If you feel that your sentence may be too long,
just add a comma where appropriate, or just turn the sentence into two sentences. Furthermore,
another significant writing rule is spelling. If you turn in a resume with something misspelled,
you might as well forget any chance you ever had getting that job. Spelling is such an easy rule
to check for, yet it s one of the most common mistakes one will make. Spelling only takes a few
minutes to check, especially with programs such as spell check on Microsoft Word. Another way
to check for spelling would be to just actually read over what you just wrote. It may seem tedious,
but that extra five minutes could save you from such a preventable mistake. To continue, tense is
another valuable rule to keep in mind when writing. It is preferred that you use present tense
whenever possible and you must not change your

Trial of Temple Anneke Essay
Predetermined Justice
Witchcraft in early modern Europe was understood to be the combination of maleficium and
diabolism. The term maleficium refers to the actual act of witchcraft, which was believed to be
harmful magic or sorcery. Allegations of maleficium were simply the foundation for the crimeof
witchcraft. Diabolism is what made witchcraft a crime because it involved trading oneself for
magical abilities from the Devil (xxv).
With regard to religion during early modern Europe, it was highly regarded. There was no direct
separation between church and state. Witchcraft was acknowledged as an act against God, as well
as a capital offense. The Carolina, which was the imperial criminal code....of Emperor Charles V ,

Tempel Anneke was accused of crimes that were, for the most part, uncontrollable events.
Unfortunately for Tempel Anneke, during this time people were quick to assume witchcraft as the
source of their problems or any negative unexplainable event. There was very little knowledge
about healthcare at this time so it was a common practice to just blame it on the witch.
The initial questions Tempel Anneke was asked pointed out the similarities between her and what
were thought to be the characteristics of a witch. When the interrogator questioned her age and
means of personal finance, she did not state her age but did say that she was a widow and lived
with her son on his farm but did perform healings when needed. She was then questioned about her
education and religious practices. She responded by saying she had learned how to heal people

proactive in improving its energy efficiency and environmental performance (Hahn, 2010, p. 1). It
has also made a substantial effort to live up to its corporate social responsibility (Hahn, 2010, p. 1).

Host Europe should make an effort to educate its customers of the realities and benefits of
virtualization. If it is able to convince customers to switch to virtual servers, it will enhance its
profits by reduced energy costs. Host Europe may even consider pricing virtual servers lower than
dedicated servers, which are servers that do not share hardware. The loss of profit may be made up
through the previously mentioned reduced energy costs.
Highly Specialized and Gender Shift Employees
While Host Europe provides a wide range of benefits for employees (memberships for a local

such as a day care for kids, etc.) there remains a low proportion of women currently working for the
company.
Host Europe can potentially increase the proportion of women by continuing to offer a family

World Is Too Much With USarknotes
What Becomes of Our Elegies?
William Wordsworth s poem The World is too Much with Us begins with a pessimistic, yet
chillingly accurate insight: The world is too much with us; late and soon, Getting and Spending, we
lay waste our powers (1 2). Wordsworth asks whether progress was just a convenient excuse for the
sacrifices mankind made during the Industrial Revolution. Alexander Pope, however, in his poem
An Essay on Man, claims that although humans inevitably err, they still redeem themselves through
trial and error, as indicated by contemporary examples. Therefore, under Pope s philosophy, The
World is too Much with Us symbolizes the lesson learned through human reasoning on human

Initially, the myopic drive for technology and material wealth had left humanity deprived of its
soul. The industrial empire extorted what it could from nature. According to World Resources

Congresses. There also are signs of moral redemption. In Korea, approximately ten thousand jobs
for the elderly are being produced every year to forestall their social exclusion. Such precedents are
enough to prove that the inherent nature of humanity is to err and

Gender Dynamics Within Iran — Offside Film
The Gender Dynamics Within Iran Throughout the various texts and films we observed this
semester, there were a multitude of underlying themes associated with each. These themes do not
live in a textual or film related vacuum, but rather offer major implications on given Middle
Eastern cultures. In the fictional film Offside, directed by Jafar Panahi, he decides to zero in on the
complex culture within Iran. He illustrates the culture within Iran by employing the 2006 World
Cup qualifying soccer match between Iran and Bahrain as a metaphor of the various social
dynamics attached to this sporting event and the country as a whole. That said, there are numerous
underlying themes associated with this film. In this paper, however, I will... Show more content on

For instance, the man on the minibus vehemently warns the girl about getting caught at the
stadium and tries to help her as he seems to be legitimately worried for her wellbeing. Also, the
ticker scalper fretfully asks the if she know[s] what they ll do if they catch [her]? (Panahi). This
implies the public perception of the military s enforcement of this law is extremely strict and
violating it is very much unsafe. However, the actions of the soldiers in their treatment of the
girls suggests otherwise. At the end of the movie, the girls and soldiers are celebrating with all
the Iranian people in the streets after the huge win, which provides the notion that these young
women got off scot free. Perhaps Panahi is symbolizing fear tactics practiced by the government
in order to promote law abiding citizens. The soldier who appears to be in the leadership position
is greatly concerned with going on military leave as he tells a girl, [he] should be on leave...it s
[her] fault [he s] on duty here (Panahi). More than detaining these girls, he is concerned with
moving back to his village and taking care of his family. The only reason he is detaining the girls
is because [he] [has] responsibilities and [he ll] be punished if he releases them (Panahi). There
seems to be an evident discrepancy within the Iranian hierarchy as it pertains to the legal policy
prohibiting women from

Rhetorical Analysis Of Miss Representation
Rhetorical Analysis of Miss Representation
Jennifer Siebel Newsom s documentary, Miss Representation, shows that the media s impact on the
American discourse of women s bodies, women in power, and the same standards of what women
should be. Newsom effectively convinces the audience of Miss Representation that how mainstream
media contributes to the misrepresentation of women in influential positions by having limited
portrayals of women through the use of interviews from influential people, several statistics, and
appealing to emotional sense. Newsom clearly explains how the media portrays gender bias and
stereotypes in TV, films, and advertisements through the use of interviews from influential people.

Use Of Allusions In Pleasantville To Kill A Mockingbird
Pleasantville and To Kill a Mockingbird
Intertextual Study
Intertextuality is an important element in American director, Gary Ross , 1998 comedy drama
postmodernist film, Pleasantville . Through the use of allusion, parody, pastiche, cinematography
and character referencing or alluding to other works of fiction, intertextuality shapes the meaning of
a text. Ross ideas about change and how to cope with it are conveyed using intertextuality, often in
the form of textual and/or historical allusions.
The classic 1960 novel, To Kill a Mockingbird , written by well known American novelist Harper
Lee is an allusion used by Ross to convey changes that were taking place in the relative time frame
that the book and film were set. Many social changes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The knowledge that Bud and his sister Mary Sue Parker, the other main character in the film,
impart on the people of Pleasantville (especially the young people) seems to connect to the story
of the forbidden fruit in the Bible. The first instance of their knowledge from their world making
changes in Pleasantville is when Mary Sue takes Skip Martin, her love interest, to a place called
Lover s Lane . No one in Pleasantville had ever experienced anything sexual, even the parents of
children, before this moment and it has a drastic impact on Skip, and later his basketball
teammates when he tells them what happened. This is also the first time something comes into
colour in Pleasantville, and Skip is the first person to witness this event due to the revelation
that he has gone through. Soon as the news spreads around, other young people start
experimenting sexually and sex becomes a common practice at Lover s Lane. Lover s Lane is
an allusion to the tree of knowledge in the Bible as it is where the first changes in views of the
townspeople take place. The town of Pleasantville is therefore representative of the Garden of
Eden where everything is perfect in the eyes of the monochrome townspeople. Later Mary Sue s
mother, Betty Parker, is curious as to what actually goes on at Lover s Lane, to which Mary Sue
explains. Betty does not seem shocked or disgusted as she has never experienced or known about
anything Mary Sue is talking about. She responds by saying, your father would never do anything
like that indicating that she has a curiosity to try what Mary Sue describes but she believes there is
no way. Mary Sue then tells her, Well, you know, Mum, there are other ways to enjoy yourself...
without Dad . Later that evening when Betty tries what Mary Sue suggested the tree outside the

Printing Organs And The Human Body
Printing organs has been talked about and attempted to be used for close to 40 years. Printing
organs can help with advancements in many ways because it could help many of the people that
are on the Organ Transplanting List, not to mention it could save countless lives as well. If organs
are able to be printed and executed for procedures and transplants, then we could reduce hospital
bills that increase during the time that you are waiting for an organ. Therefore, making a large
advancement in the healthcare field. Organ printingcan be very difficult and must be executed very
carefully considering that the body may reject the new organ. Three dimensional (3D) printing
is a manufacturing method in which objects are made by fusing or depositing materials such as
plastic, metal, ceramics, powders, liquids, or even living cells in layers to produce a 3D object
(Ventola, October 2014). It is incredible to see how such materials can be used to be put together
to make a living organism that can be used in a human s body. As a person ages this could be
very useful because organs tend to fail and become weak when a person gets older they could
potentially be used to replace the failing organs. There are many different types of 3D printing
and they do all come with some positives but at the same time they come with some negatives as
well. There is selective laser printing, an SLS printer uses powdered material as the substrate for
printing new objects. A laser draws the shape of

Inez Beverly Prosser, Psychologist
Inez Beverly Posser (1895 1934) was America s first Black female psychologist. http:/
/www.apa.org/monitor/2008/11/prosser.aspx . Not only is this significant in itself, it is also the
adversity she overcame growing up to get there. And later, in the profound research in her
dissertation that caused controversy as well as groundbreaking discoveries regarding education and
integration vs. segregation as it relates to psychology. Inez was born into a family with 10 other
siblings where she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Why did Inez s research and conclusion cause such controversy? There are many 3 different views
that can be drawn on the research and conclusions. First, since Inez was African
American herself, this may have conflicted within her African Americancommunity. Why?
Since African Americans have been struggling for equal rights and equality in education, this
would seem to go against what her own race has been struggling to achieve. On the surface it
would appear that way. However, her research was from a psychological perspective that had not
yet been considered or researched. Ironically, her conclusions in her study in her dissertation could
also be useful as the topic of desegregation that did not come along until decades after her study.
The question that was answered even before its time, is how desegregation would effect the
students themselves. Would this have a positive or negative effect on their education? If equality
was to be reached in the public school system wouldn t this have to also mean that the
African American students would also fare better than in integrated schools? What s the use in
achieving desegregation if it is going to have such a negative impact on the African American
students? If you will notice, the word integrated is used in place of desegregation in her study since
desegregation had not yet even been addressed! As you can imagine, many different views,
arguments, and psychological

Short Essay On Hades
I m finally venturing out of the Egyptian pantheon and moving north to explore the Greek Gods.
Specifically, Hades.
Why Hades? I think that a lot of people have a way of classifying Hades as Satan, the Devil, etc. I
wanted to do more in depth research to learn about the god himself, away from all the preconceived
notions.
Hades was the eldest son of Cronus and Rhea (king and queen of the Titans) and brother to Zeus,
Poseidon, Hera, Demeter, and Hestia. Cronus was told that one day his rule would be usurped by
one of his children and felt the best way to avoid said coup was to swallow any and all children
he sired. Which he did . . . until Rhea bore his youngest child Zeus. She hid him away, and once he
reached maturity he confronted ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

somber, serious deity . . . I wouldn t imagine living in the Underworld for eternity makes a merry

of his kingdom to be his property, and VERY VERY rarely ever let a soul leave. One story tells of
PirithoГјs, a man who fell in love with Persephone and was determined to rescue her. Along with
Theseus, he entered the Underworld, managing to bypass all the traps to arrive at Hades palace.
Hades, however, found out about the young man s plans; when the two arrived at Hades palace,
Hades met them graciously. He invited them to have a seat after their long travels . . . and
motioned to the Chair of Forgetfulness. They both forgot why they were there . . . but remembered
they couldn t leave without Hades permission. Theseus was eventually rescued by Hercules, but
PirithoГјs was never allowed to leave . . . punishment for trying to steal with belonged to Hades.

put into capturing her does make him come across as finicky). But compared to his brothers and

Union about expanding communist. They wanted to show each other that they are serious and both
formed their own security agreement. On April 4, 1949 The North Atlantic Treaty Organization
(NATO) was signed. This treaty was an alliance between the North Americans and the Western
European countries. They worked together to defend each other. So the Soviet Unioncannot take

mad and they wanted to leave the pact. Without them The Warsaw Pact will start to fall apart which
it did. In 1990, East Germany withdrew from the pact because it is getting reunification with West

Later renamed as British Petroleum, the company s name was shortened to BP to reflect a
continuing global expansion. Over the years, BP made many important discoveries, including fields
in the North Sea near Scotland and at Prudhoe Bayin Alaska.
BP LogoAmoco
Amoco began its life as a part of John D. Rockefeller s powerful Standard Oil Trust. Incorporated
in 1889 as the Standard Oil Company (Indiana), the company s first challenge was to build a
refinery in Whiting, Indiana, specially designed to handle high sulphur crude oil from a field near
Lima, Ohio.
In 1912, a year after dissolution of the Rockefeller Trust, company scientist William Burton and
his colleague, Robert Humphreys, received a patent for the thermal cracking process that doubled
the yield of gasoline from a barrel of crude oil, while also boosting its octane rating. Headquartered
in Chicago, Illinois, Standard Oil of Indiana remained the company s name until April of 1985 when
it became Amoco, reflecting a growing international presence.
Arco
The oldest of the four companies, ARCO was founded in Philadelphia in 1866 as the Atlantic
Petroleum Storage Company. At the time, Atlantic s business was simply to store and ship crude
and refined oils. In 1870 the company built a refinery that could process 3,000 barrels a day, a
record for that time. Only four

How Scientists Can Most Efficiently Complete Organ...
Abstract: The purpose of this experiment is to test how scientists can most efficiently complete
organ printing. In this lab, the cells will be suspended in a substrate called sodium alginate
collagen, hydrogel, and other reactants. These materials will react to then embed the cells to their
goal location. Then, the cells will be able to be fixated into layers. These layers will then come
together and form tissues, which according to biological organization will form organs. The inkjet
bioprinter allows for this to occur. Tiny inkdroplets form a digital design for the organ printing, and
in horizontal sheets, the organ is created tissue by tissue. This lab will test to see which percent
concentration of the sodium alginate collagen composite will prove to be most effective when
organ printing. The dependent factor that will determine the conclusion will be the percent of
efficiency of cell survival rate. Four trials will be completed in which the same organ is printed and
all factors are kept constant, except for the percent concentration of the substrate.
Introduction:
In the past, the only way to replace diminished cells, tissues, and organs was from organ
transplantation. An organ donor was needed, and the tissues would be surgically removed from the
donated body and placed into the recipient. Due to the current research being conducted, it is
believed that tissue engineering and organ printing can contribute to the process of improving and
saving lives.

Natural Killer T Cells ( Nkt )
Introduction Natural killer T cells (NKT), not to be confused with Natural Killer cells or killer T
cells (CTL), are a heterogeneous subset of T cells recognized by their unique innate and adaptive
molecular characteristics and markers. Perhaps the most defining characteristic of natural killer T
cell is the ability to recognize lipid antigens in the context of CD1d molecules, associated to ОІ2
microglobulin (Laurent, Renault, Farce, Chavatte, HГ©non, 2014). CD1d molecules are
predominantly expressed by Antigen Presenting cells, particularly Marginal Zone B cells (MZB).
NKT cells have been divided into two main subsets: type I NKT cells that use a canonical
invariant TCR О± chain and recognize О± galactosylceramide (О± GalCer), a powerful antitumor
stimulant, and type II NKT cells that use a more diverse О±ОІ TCR repertoire and do not
recognize О± GalCer (Macho Fernandez Brigl, 2015. Notably, О± GalCer activated Type I NKT
cells are capable of substantial crosstalk with other cell types of the innate and adaptive immune
systems (Matsuda et al. 2008; Parekh et al. 2007). However, Type II NKT cells display more of a
heterogeneous TCR and lack VО±14 JО±18 rearrangement, thus the reason for their inability to
recognize О± GalCer. Conversely, type II NKT cells recognize a naturally occurring self glycolipid
and sulfatide, which is enriched in several membranes, including myelin in the central nervous
system (CNS), ОІ cells in the pancreas, kidney, and liver (Marrero, Ware, Kumar,

The Effects Of Binge Drinking On Teens
For my research project I decided to look at binge drinking in teens. Binge drinking interested me
because so many teenagers drink alcohol when they go out and don t know what consequences it
has on the body. Binge drinking is the consumption of an unreasonable amount of alcohol in a short
period of time. I have chosen to research What are the psychological and physiological effects of
binge drinkingin teens? . I chose this question because I wanted to inform myself and other teens on
the effects of binge drinking. The research methods used throughout my research were internet
articles and a survey.
After researching what is binge drinking I found that it is the consumption of a large amount of
alcohol on a single occasion or drinking at a constant rate over a number of days or even weeks.
Binge drinking is risky business. The powerful liquid known as alcohol has major effects on a
person. Alcohol has the ability to wreck a person s life and change it permanently. Alcohol impairs
judgement making it easy for someone to do or say something that he or she will regret. For a
male to binge drink he has to drink 5 or more standard drinks in a 2 hour period. For a female it is
only 4 or more standard drinks in a 2 hour period. This could vary of the weight and age of the
person. When conducting my survey I asked the participants how many drinks they believe
classified as binge drinking.

  • 2. My Three Most Important Goals In My Life Goals are something that people set themselves and work hard to complete. These goals can be something you want to complete in your life. Everyone has many goals they are fighting to get to. I have many goals that I wanted to do throughout my life. In this essay, I will write about three most important goals in my life. The first goal is education, and the second goal is family and the third goal are to build my own house. I think the most important goal in the life for everyone is education. Education is very important because if you do not have a good education it will be hard to get a job. In many countries, it is very hard to get a good education, and I feel very proud to live in a country where it is easy to get an education. Many people think education is only reading and writing, but it is more than that. Education gives us knowledge of the world around us and changes it into something better. The main reason education is important for me is that I want to get a job I like to work with. I hope that I can work I think a job is not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... West Nile Virus is an infection that can cause serious disease in humans. West Nile Virus is a seasonal epidemic that is in North America. It flares up in the summer and continues into the fall. Many people are interested in having exotic birds as pets, but because of this they can contract West Nile Virus. The infected mosquito can spread West Nile Virus to humans after they are infected with the virus after feeding on infected birds. The excitement of having an exotic pet can sometimes outweigh the possible risks of infections from the animal or mosquitoes that have been exposed to them. • 4. Parker In this project, I will describe a scenario in which I am developing within my own ministry to engage people in helping them think theologically. The Church today is suffering greatly because many people are not engaged in Scripture, practicing spiritual disciplines, or thinking theologically. I hope to create a pattern to correct that and give them the ability to not just learn a little each week from a sermon, but take everything that comes at them and learn from it, while giving them the ability to teach others as well. Examining three models found in this week s reading, Aware Engage Apply (Grenz and Olson 129 130), Attending Asserting Acting (Christian Thinking) and Analysis Reflection Application (Umbel), each three fold model had the same basic principle: intake of knowledge, processing that knowledge, and using that knowledge. In order for this to be effective, I will need to address each of the three legs so that everything remains balanced. First, the intake of knowledge (other models use awareness, analysis, or attending), must be biblical sound. If people are to think theologically, they must be taught theologically first, which means we must teach them to Word of Godin its entirety, not just select Scriptures to back up our thought of the day. The second leg of thinking is the processing of that knowledge; once a believer receives knowledge, he or she must know how to process that information in light of God and the Scriptures. While everyone thinks ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Gender Equality In Iron Jawed Angels Tuesday, November 8 2016 was the first time I was old enough to vote for the presidential election. After watching Iron Jawed Angels, I realized how much I have taken for granted in my life and how incredibly grateful I am for all of the women that have fought for women equality including; Alice Paul and Lucy Burns. There are still on going debates in todays society about genderequality, but it s crazy to see how 100 plus years ago some of the rights women have now, going to school and voting, didn t exist. In 1912, Alice Paul and Lucy Burns fought together among other women for the right to vote. They fought for not only white women, but women of all races. Throughout Iron Jawed Angels the women fought hard, even during the time of war and while they were in jail, for their rights and equality. It wasn t until August 26, 1920 that women could vote. Before that women could not attend college or pursue training for most professions (Woods, 57). During the movie, Alice Paul was creating a friendship with a male who taught her how to drive which is interesting because in todays society almost every women knows how to drive or has the privilege to drive but back then only men drove or could even afford a car because they had the right to work. In the movie Iron Jawed Angels, Senetor Leighton and his family are described as a stereotypical family during their time period. He provides for his wife and two kids while, his wife stays at home and doesn t work. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Communication Model Of Interpersonal Communication Passing another student on the way to class and gesturing with a friendly wave, interacting with a server in a local restaurant, or discussing ideas and pop culture with a roommate all seem like entirely unrelated, daily interactions that happen in a typical college student s day. However, each daily interaction, whether in the life of a college student or other person, follows a specific pattern of order that helps people to perceive and interact with the environment and other individual around them. This process, known as the communicationmodel, is an important facet of human interaction that helps to explain the processes involved in communicating with people and that helps to reveal important details about effective interpersonal communication. The communication model consists of eight different parts, which as they apply to every interpersonal reaction, are often referred to as universals. Perhaps, the first and most important universal of communication is the message, or the idea one tries to communicate to another in a conversation or interaction. As every interaction hinges around a central message, all the other elements of the communication model revolve around the sending and/or receiving of the message itself. Therefore, the individual who sends a message to another is known as the sender, while the individual who receives the message is referred to as the receiver. For example, when alarm clock pierces the early morning silence, it becomes the sender, communicating a message to the person who hears its shrill tones, the receiver, that he or she should wake up. However, the communication process does not end with the reception of the message. Oftentimes, the receiver responds to the sender of the message, which is called feedback, and prompts the continuation of the communication process. Continuing with the previous example, after a sleeping person hears an alarm clock, he or she responds to its message most often by letting out an audible gasp of dread or by forcefully pressing the snooze button, which prompts the alarm to issue a second message, either of momentary silence or of continued noise. In this way, both the sender and receiver transmit messages to one another, playing both roles in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Fan Pathology Research Paper According Jenson, there are two representing types of fan pathologies: obsessed loners and frenzied or hysterical crowd. At first, I would like define each type of fan pathology. First type of fan pathology is the obsessed loners type of fan. Jenson wrote the obsessed loners are individuals achieve public notoriety by stalking or threatening or killing the celebrity (Lewis, 1992, p11). There was a remarkable obsessed loner type fan became notorious for shooting the former Beatle in 1980. December 8, 1980, John Lennon, the former Beatle, was gunned down outside the Dakota Building in New York. Jenson wrote, these individuals are weeping teen at the airport glimpsing a rock star, or the roaring, maniacal sports fan rioting at a soccer game (Lewis, p.12). I think this is the type of fans that people often imagine by hearing the word fan . Within frenzied or hysterical crowd, there is two big categories; entertainment fans and sports fans. The point of being frenzied or hysterical crowd is to feel solidarity and to form a community outside of their everyday life. According to the ethnography of Bruce Springsteen fans, the author quoted a meaning of being the Springsteen fan; Ruth Finnegan (1989) has pointed out the importance of people s devotion to certain musical worlds , in which they play in or follow a local musical group or listen to certain musical genre, as a way to shape personal and communal identity (Cavicchi, 1998, p.4). In addition to this general explanation of music fans, Cavicchi explained, among Springsteen fans, the idea of connection means more than just having an affinity for Springsteen s music; it means making the music a deeply felt part of one s life, of having an ongoing, shared relationship with Springsteen the artist (Cavicchi, p.41). Thus among of all Springsteen fans, being a Springsteen fan means not only they like his music, but Springsteen and his music is significant factors to shape their personal and communal ... • 8. Mesozoic Vertebrates Mesozoic vertebrates of Texas have received less attention than Paleozoic. In the early 1900s E. C. Case collected and reported amphibians and reptiles found in Triassic sediments along the eastern edge of the High Plains, and Sankar Chatterjee of Texas Tech University has also made important discoveries there. Notable are skeletons of phytosaurs. These aquatic reptiles, up to thirty feet in length, had elongated snouts armed with thick, sharply pointed teeth. Their habits were probably much like those of modern crocodiles. Some lightly armored forms were not unlike crocodiles in appearance, except for their long, hook nosed snouts, but some armored types of phytosaurs may have looked almost like arthropods. Through work centered at the University of Texas at Austin, parts of the Trans Pecos region have yielded important fossils of Cretaceous reptiles, among them enormous crocodiles and the largest known pterosaur. Much of Central Texas probably contains bones of Cretaceous vertebrates, but the land is so heavily vegetated that discoveries are few. However, remains of dinosaurs, plesiosaurs, and even primitive mammals have been found and are preserved at the University of Texas and Southern Methodist University. Fossil vertebrates, especially mammals, of the middle to late Tertiary and Pleistocene ages abound in Texas. • 9. The Principle Of Affinity Chromatography The objective of this lab was to learn the principle of affinity chromatography by isolating a carbohydrate binding protein from an extract of jack bean meal. The protein that was used for this lab came from jack bean meal, and it is identified as Concanavalin A, or Con A. This is a lectin proteinthat has the ability to bind with glucose, but it is not a glycoprotein. Furthermore, the monomeric molecular weight of this protein is 25,5001. Concanavalin A also exists as a dimer and a tetramer, and this depends upon the pH of this substance. Finally, Con A requires a transition metal ion such as manganese as well as calcium ions for binding purposes. 1.Begin by inserting a cheesecloth into a syringe and pressing the cheesecloth to the very bottom of the column. 2.Pour 10 ml of the affinity gel into the column. Allow a few minutes for the solution to harden and transform into a gel like consistency. 3.Fill the rest of the column with NaCl, and do so by pouring the solution along the interior side of the column. This allows the gel to become moist. 4.Next, gather 0.5 ml of the protein extract and save this portion in a separate container. This will be used for the preparation of the membrane. 5.Load the remaining protein mix into the column, and this will begin to bind within the column. Once the solution has settled, fill the column with NaCl a total of four times; as the wash is flowing through, collect and label the protein solution in fractions, and save for the ... Preventing Musculoskeletal Disorders In The Workplace The Seriousness of MSD Occupational health hazards are conditions in a workplace environment that pose a threat to the physical or mental health of an employee working there. Unfortunately, occupational health hazards are very common, however, providentially; many organizations have been established in order to prevent these tragedies from occurring. One of these great organizations is the Worker s Health and Safety Centre; Ontario s designated health and safety training center. In recent times, WHSC has taken specific initiative on taking action to prevent the occupation ergonomic hazard, causing musculoskeletal disorder. Due to the fact that Musculoskeletal Disorders may cause employees to suffer from uncomfortable pains to developing critical disabilities, it is extremely important for employers to ensure that they eliminate any hazards in the working environments, and train their employees. An ergonomic hazard in the workplace can occur when a worker repeats the same movement, or engages in stationary/ uncomfortable positions over an extended period of time. Employers must ensure that their employees are able to recognize the signs/symptoms in order to seek treatment before developing a worse condition. • 12. Why Don t We Complain Essay Argumentative Essay: Why Don t We Complain? Throughout once in your life, you may have been confronted with a situation where you accept inconveniences instead of taking action. According to William F. Buckley, American people everywhere have refrained from trying to rectify irrational vexations . In Buckley s essay, Why Don t We Complain? he explains some situations that he was involved in where no one would complain to repair an uncomfortable situation. Throughout the essay, Buckley uses his experiences and strong reasoning to show why he believes that the American people do not complain. Buckley attempts to support that the apathy that Americans would accept inconveniences instead of taking action is the cause of many Americans ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Should people be afraid to complain or should they always be free minded about an unjust cause? The second reason why I agree with Buckley s ideas about assertiveness and helplessness is because throughout time many inventions are that replace simple jobs that cause a sense of laziness. The people will often portray themselves as lazy in society as new technological inventions are created to do their tasks. Many people will then develop a habit due to them relying on other things to do their task for them. For example, back then when machines weren t created, people did manual labor and relied on themselves, but now as we rely on newly made machines; we rely on the equipment to do our work. This forms a habit for Americans as we begin to rely on other things than ourselves. The third reason why I agree with Buckley s ideas about assertiveness and helplessness is shown through as Buckley states that the government is taking rights away from the people. He states, Every year, whether the Republican or the Democratic Party is in office, more and more power drains away from the individual to feed vast reservoirs in far off places; and we have less and less say about the shape of events which shape our future . He also says that we accept the government s power to hold upon us . The government is responsible for the great number of American deaths in Korea and is now responsible for billions of tax dollars spent every year. However, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, his own wife Desdemona can be reasoned to be just as much of an outcast, even though she s described as the perfect woman. She affected the actions and feelings of other characters by being young, innocent and easily manipulated, and by being so visually striking. Desdemona s mindset is easily swayed and by the other characters, showing how young and inexperienced she is with living as someone s wife. Even though Desdemona denied that there was anything between her and Cassio in the play, Cassio was much more gentlemanly to her than he was to anything female character. One can see how highly he thinks of her when he states: She s a most exquisite lady... Indeed she s a most fresh and delicate creature ( 2.3.20 22). Then he goes on to say: An inviting eye, and yet methinks right modest... She is indeed perfection. (2.3.26 29). Here it is seen that after greeting Desdemona when she arrives at Cyprus, he describes her as the perfect woman, when he didn t extend to Emilia the same courtesy. Iago himself is written to seem as if he hates women, but even he admits to himself how beautiful Desdemona is, as seen: Now, I do love her too, Not out of absolute lust though peradventure I stand accountant for as great a sin But partly led to diet my revenge, For that I do suspect the lusty Moor Hath leaped into my seat. The thought whereof Doth, like a poisonous mineral, gnaw my inwards, And nothing can or shall content my soul Till I am evened with him, wife for wife (2.1.313 321). It was only when a friend introduced me to Japanese comics (or manga) three years ago that I began to realize that the synthesis of image and text could produce complex layers of meaning, which shifted from reading to reading. In Japan, mangahas spread and diversified as a dominant (almost the dominant) medium in mass culture The huge audience for manga in Japan has allowed artists to diversify into many different types, the two primary classifications being shonen boys manga and shoujo girls manga. In this way, I acquired random volumes of series such as Gensomaden Saiyuki, Neon Genesis Evangelion and Revolutionary Girl Utena. Once I got an idea of which types of manga I found most appealing, I began to focus on acquiring several volumes of a particular series. For example, I now own all of the Banana Fish volumes that have so far been translated into English. Currently, I am eager to acquire volumes of series such as Banana Fish, Paradise Kiss and Mars, which are all similar to apprentice novels or novels of awakening, in which the characters find their place in society through various experiences. I am also researching other boys love artists, such as Motoni Modoru. She borrows from several genres, including horror and Taisho period historical novels, to produce atmospheric thrillers. More generally, I would like to focus on titles that are more creative and unusual than the run of the mill boys love story. One example is the mafia thriller cum horror story Face, which I acquired last October. • 15. Functions Of A Operating System Operating Systems, in the most simplest of terms, it is the chief program that manages all the hardwares and softwares. It takes control for every process, file, section of memory and device. They are like the middle man who arranges business deals between other people but in this case, they it is between every hardware and software that he makes sure interact with each other correctly. Starbuck s main objective is to establish itself as the most respected and recognized coffee brand in the world (Fact Sheet, 2008). Starbucks has accomplished this objective and experienced much success through their competitive strategy of clustering several stores within the same community and through their distinctive competencies of roasting and selling the quality coffee while providing high quality customer service. Fair trade coffee also bypasses the coffee trader, therefore giving the producer higher profits. Fair trade coffee growers are guaranteed a minimum price of $1.26 per pound for their coffee. If the world coffee prices rise above this floor price, farmers will be paid a small premium $0.05 per pound above market price (Coffee Research Institute, 2006). This contributes to helping coffee farmers stay out of debt and provides some stability for both producers and sellers of coffee to an unstable market (Coffee Research Institute, 2006). Environmentally, the main negative impacts from coffee production include habitat conversion, soil degradation, pesticide use, and declines in water quality (WWF, 2005). The most serious impact of coffee cultivation continues to be the conversion of natural forest areas into flatlands in order to plant coffee. Unfortunately, a driving force of habitat conversion is the increasing market for high grade specialty coffees (WWF, 2005). Many companies, however, like Starbucks, work with local farmers to ensure the best economic return and least detrimental environmental impacts as possible. Final Judgment Death Row Keyaunta Stewart Northwestern State University CJ 2400 American Courts Mr. Frank Hall March 24, 2016 Abstract There is no way to tell of the thousands of people that have been executed, which were innocent. Since 1973 more than 150 people have been released from prison with evidence of innocence. Studies have shown that the death penalty has zero to no effect on violent crimes, and it is an amazing waste of taxpaying money. They were wrongfully imprisoned due to mistaken eyewitness testimony, faulty forensic science, and false confession as a result of wrongdoing by the police and finally racial biased. That was just a minimal list of reasons a case could go wrong. There are many reasons why someone would be against the death penalty. For example, there are strong religious beliefs that one might have, the death penalty is and expression of the absolute power of the state. As of October 2015 there have been over 1,414 individuals in this country alone lethally executed. In the issue of the death penalty it all goes back to whether the death penalty deters future crime. Without punctuation the reader would not know when to pause and would just keep reading. Punctuation is key when avoiding that deep, dark path of run on sentences. Run on sentences are extremely unprofessional and confuse the reader. If you feel that your sentence may be too long, just add a comma where appropriate, or just turn the sentence into two sentences. The ward meetings in Chapter Five demonstrate the domination techniques that Ratched uses to exert her control. She starts the meeting by bringing up Harding s problems and humiliating him by describing his personal and psychological problems, then asking the other patients to comment on the problems she has described. She attempts to reveal Harding s weakness and then let all of the patients follow her lead. This indicates that she sets them all against each other and keeps them all feeling weak, so she can easier dominate them all when they end up hurting each other and making it worse. The term maleficium refers to the actual act of witchcraft, which was believed to be harmful magic or sorcery. Allegations of maleficium were simply the foundation for the crimeof witchcraft. Diabolism is what made witchcraft a crime because it involved trading oneself for magical abilities from the Devil (xxv). With regard to religion during early modern Europe, it was highly regarded. Tempel Anneke was accused of crimes that were, for the most part, uncontrollable events. Unfortunately for Tempel Anneke, during this time people were quick to assume witchcraft as the source of their problems or any negative unexplainable event. There was very little knowledge about healthcare at this time so it was a common practice to just blame it on the witch. The initial questions Tempel Anneke was asked pointed out the similarities between her and what were thought to be the characteristics of a witch. When the interrogator questioned her age and means of personal finance, she did not state her age but did say that she was a widow and lived with her son on his farm but did perform healings when needed. She was then questioned about her education and religious practices. She responded by saying she had learned how to heal people from observing her mother. Also, she testified that she knew the commandments but had not been to the table of the Lord or the Holy Communion in two years (15). It did not help that she was not looked up to in the community but was part of the lower class. Since then it has been proactive in improving its energy efficiency and environmental performance (Hahn, 2010, p. 1). It has also made a substantial effort to live up to its corporate social responsibility (Hahn, 2010, p. 1). • 40. World Is Too Much With USarknotes What Becomes of Our Elegies? William Wordsworth s poem The World is too Much with Us begins with a pessimistic, yet chillingly accurate insight: The world is too much with us; late and soon, Getting and Spending, we lay waste our powers (1 2). Wordsworth asks whether progress was just a convenient excuse for the sacrifices mankind made during the Industrial Revolution. Alexander Pope, however, in his poem An Essay on Man, claims that although humans inevitably err, they still redeem themselves through trial and error, as indicated by contemporary examples. Therefore, under Pope s philosophy, The World is too Much with Us symbolizes the lesson learned through human reasoning on human errors that characterized the Industrial Revolution. ... The industrial empire extorted what it could from nature. According to World Resources Institute, the planet has lost 80 percent of its forest cover to deforestation, and the number continues to increase. With the accumulation of wealth, Mammonism and attendant moral problems ensued. In Korea, as individuals were price tagged based on their economic productivity, the society stigmatized the elderly for their apparent uselessness. As some chose suicide over social isolation, suicide rate of the elderly increased twofold over the period of ten year, indicating the loss of morality. Still, like Wordsworth, those critical of the status quo advocate social reform. For instance, to counter deforestation, the UN Forum on Forests, is actively promoting reforestation by hosting European Forestry Commissions and World Forestry Congresses. There also are signs of moral redemption. In Korea, approximately ten thousand jobs for the elderly are being produced every year to forestall their social exclusion. Gender Dynamics Within Iran — Offside Film The Gender Dynamics Within Iran Throughout the various texts and films we observed this semester, there were a multitude of underlying themes associated with each. These themes do not live in a textual or film related vacuum, but rather offer major implications on given Middle Eastern cultures. In the fictional film Offside, directed by Jafar Panahi, he decides to zero in on the complex culture within Iran. He illustrates the culture within Iran by employing the 2006 World Cup qualifying soccer match between Iran and Bahrain as a metaphor of the various social dynamics attached to this sporting event and the country as a whole. This implies the public perception of the military s enforcement of this law is extremely strict and violating it is very much unsafe. However, the actions of the soldiers in their treatment of the girls suggests otherwise. At the end of the movie, the girls and soldiers are celebrating with all the Iranian people in the streets after the huge win, which provides the notion that these young women got off scot free. No one in Pleasantville had ever experienced anything sexual, even the parents of children, before this moment and it has a drastic impact on Skip, and later his basketball teammates when he tells them what happened. If organs are able to be printed and executed for procedures and transplants, then we could reduce hospital bills that increase during the time that you are waiting for an organ. Therefore, making a large advancement in the healthcare field. Organ printingcan be very difficult and must be executed very carefully considering that the body may reject the new organ. Three dimensional (3D) printing is a manufacturing method in which objects are made by fusing or depositing materials such as plastic, metal, ceramics, powders, liquids, or even living cells in layers to produce a 3D object (Ventola, October 2014). • 50. How Scientists Can Most Efficiently Complete Organ... Abstract: The purpose of this experiment is to test how scientists can most efficiently complete organ printing. In this lab, the cells will be suspended in a substrate called sodium alginate collagen, hydrogel, and other reactants. These materials will react to then embed the cells to their goal location. Then, the cells will be able to be fixated into layers. These layers will then come together and form tissues, which according to biological organization will form organs. The inkjet bioprinter allows for this to occur. Tiny inkdroplets form a digital design for the organ printing, and in horizontal sheets, the organ is created tissue by tissue. This lab will test to see which percent concentration of the sodium alginate collagen composite will prove to be most effective when organ printing. The dependent factor that will determine the conclusion will be the percent of efficiency of cell survival rate. Four trials will be completed in which the same organ is printed and all factors are kept constant, except for the percent concentration of the substrate. Introduction: In the past, the only way to replace diminished cells, tissues, and organs was from organ transplantation. An organ donor was needed, and the tissues would be surgically removed from the donated body and placed into the recipient. Due to the current research being conducted, it is believed that tissue engineering and organ printing can contribute to the process of improving and saving lives. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Natural Killer T Cells ( Nkt ) Introduction Natural killer T cells (NKT), not to be confused with Natural Killer cells or killer T cells (CTL), are a heterogeneous subset of T cells recognized by their unique innate and adaptive molecular characteristics and markers. Perhaps the most defining characteristic of natural killer T cell is the ability to recognize lipid antigens in the context of CD1d molecules, associated to ОІ2 microglobulin (Laurent, Renault, Farce, Chavatte, HГ©non, 2014). CD1d molecules are predominantly expressed by Antigen Presenting cells, particularly Marginal Zone B cells (MZB). NKT cells have been divided into two main subsets: type I NKT cells that use a canonical invariant TCR О± chain and recognize О± galactosylceramide (О± GalCer), a powerful antitumor stimulant, and type II NKT cells that use a more diverse О±ОІ TCR repertoire and do not recognize О± GalCer (Macho Fernandez Brigl, 2015. Notably, О± GalCer activated Type I NKT cells are capable of substantial crosstalk with other cell types of the innate and adaptive immune systems (Matsuda et al. 2008; Parekh et al. 2007). However, Type II NKT cells display more of a heterogeneous TCR and lack VО±14 JО±18 rearrangement, thus the reason for their inability to recognize О± GalCer. Conversely, type II NKT cells recognize a naturally occurring self glycolipid and sulfatide, which is enriched in several membranes, including myelin in the central nervous system (CNS), ОІ cells in the pancreas, kidney, and liver (Marrero, Ware, Kumar, ... I have chosen to research What are the psychological and physiological effects of binge drinkingin teens? . I chose this question because I wanted to inform myself and other teens on the effects of binge drinking. The research methods used throughout my research were internet articles and a survey. After researching what is binge drinking I found that it is the consumption of a large amount of alcohol on a single occasion or drinking at a constant rate over a number of days or even weeks. Binge drinking is risky business. The powerful liquid known as alcohol has major effects on a person. Alcohol has the ability to wreck a person s life and change it permanently. Alcohol impairs judgement making it easy for someone to do or say something that he or she will regret. For a male to binge drink he has to drink 5 or more standard drinks in a 2 hour period. For a female it is only 4 or more standard drinks in a 2 hour period. This could vary of the weight and age of the person.
