Mexican American And Mexican Americans Essay
Introduction
One of the largest Hispanic origin population in the United states are Mexicans (Gonzales Barrera
Lopez, 2013). Mexican American s are considered minorities in the United States. There are many
reason why I am choosing to explore Mexican Americans for this paper. As a minority myself, I can
relate to some of the struggles that Mexican American s may face. However, there are some things that
I will never relate to or know the personal aspect of the Mexican culture. Just like any other
population, Mexican Americans have their own culture, values, and challenges.
Strengths
Mexican Americans find their strength through their culture, family, relationships and networks.
Mexican Americans have strengths with their extended family. Mexican American families frequently
function within extended family networks that include godparents and members of other families
(Miley, M., L., 2013). There is more advantage when you have more network with extended family
and other families. It essentially means a larger support system. One of the major strengths of
Mexican American families is a quantitative rather than a qualitative difference from other ethnic
groups (Miley, M., L., 2013). Some people may not realize that Mexican Americans tend to stick
together and support each other because it is a part of their cultural background. Just like religion is a
part of Mexican American s cultural background as well. Most of the time Mexican American s share
similar spiritual

The Psychological And Mental Effects Of Fertility
Introduction
According to the Department of Health and Human Services (2005), approximately 10% to 15% of
couples would experience infertility in some form. Infertility occurs when a couple tries to have
children without any success (Chandra, 2005). Though most cases of infertility can be attributed to
physiological factors in one or both partners, it still has a psychological impact on the relationship.
The psychological and mental effects of fertility are present in both men and women, but there are
options to help a couple get through it. Infertility describes the reproductive disease that causes a
reduced potential for a man or woman to conceive or the failure of a woman to carry a child to term.
Clinically, infertility is defined as the inability of women and men to achieve pregnancy after 12
months of unprotected sexual intercourse. This time frame is reduced to 6 months for women over 35,
as women become less fertile as they get older. Infertility in couples is categorized into two broad
categories. Primary infertility describes a case without any previous pregnancy, while secondary
infertility occurs in a couple who have carried at least one pregnancy to term, but is having fertility
problems on further tries. Another reproductive issue closely related to infertility is sterility, which
leaves no chance for impregnation.
Genetic Factors Like most subjects under life span development, infertility is a result of both genetic
and environmental factors.

Human Growth and Development Study Guide Ch 1,2,3
Human Growth Development Chapters 1, 2, 3 Study Guide Chapter 1 1. What is meant by
discontinuous and continuous development? Continuous development is a process of gradually
augmenting the same types of skills that were there to begin with. Discontinuous development is a
process in which new ways of understanding and responding to the world emerge at specific times.
Broken down, Continuous means infants/preschoolers respond much like adults do and Discontinuous
means they have their own unique way of thinking. 2. Explain nature versus nurture. Nature means the

Structured interviews (including tests and questionnaires), in which each participant is asked the same
set of questions in the same way. The clinical or case study method brings together a wide range of
information on one person, including interviews, observations, and sometimes tests scores. 12. Be able
to identify independent and dependent variables in scenarios (very important). The independent
variable is the one the investigator expects to cause changes in another variable. The dependent
variable is the one the investigator expects to be influenced by the independent variable. 13. What
types of experiments can be done in research? (Case study, field experiment, natural). Same as #11 14.
Research is strongly monitored by ethics committees. What are the key components of research
ethics? Key components of research ethics are: Protection from harm, informed consent, privacy,
knowledge of results, and beneficial treatments. 15. Know the different designs for studying

Same Face Syndrome
Back when Disney s Frozen hit theatres in 2013 the character designs sparked up arguments in the
animation buff community. Mainly focused on the faces of the two main characters, Elsa and Anna,
and how uncannily similar they are compared to Rapunzel from Tangled (2010). People argued back
and forth over how it was just Disney s style against They re carbon copies of each other! A tumblr
user under the alias of turbomun, real name Gianna, took the chance to post about the difference
between Same Face Syndrome and stylization. In Gianna s post, titled Sameface [sic] Syndrome and
Other Stories, the very first thing she does is let you know how easy it is for someone to fall into Same
Face Syndrome. In the very first sentence she introduces herself as a student of the arts, just as many
of her fellow bloggers are or aspire to be. By flat out saying she has experienced this phenomenon
herself the reader automatically believes that she understands what it is like to draw characters with
the same face. She understands how easy it is to not realize that each female character is essentially ...

She uses a well known (to animators and animation enthusiasts at least) test, the silhouette test which
shows how not changing the shape of the face could make characters impossible to distinguish from
one another. For this reason, differentiating your characters only through surface details, like hair
style/color, eye color, freckles, clothing (to an extent), and yes, even faces especially faces is frowned
upon, at least in western style animation. She even goes and pulls up original character designs for
Elsa and Anna, the two characters that lit the match in the first place, and show how much they
changed from their original design into the Rapunzel

The Deception of Predestination
Fate, being always truly unknown and seemingly static, is not something that one should tamper with.
It leads all decisions and outcomes, if one so chooses to believe in the concept of predestination. In
Macbeth, by William Shakespeare, three witches decisively go against their orders and toy with the
lives of thousands of people by telling riddles of the future and it s biddings. Evidently, all those who
were given a glance into their future by the meddling trio soon let sanity slip through their fingers and
fell into their eventual demise. Banquo, who being told of his kins fortune and fames soon to come,
grows weary of his friend and is soon killed out of fear. Although his timidity was wise, it did not help
him in living to see such ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Macbeth was, at first, a wise and well adjusted Thane of Glamis but after his encounter with the Weïrd
Sisters his nobility began to quickly falter. His wits last him until the insight that he will become the
Thane of Cawdor proved the witches true. He follows his wife s footsteps and joins in on the apparent
necessity of assassinating all those who may stand in his way. Unlike his wife, Macbeth s mind takes
an early toll as he begins to hallucinate images that guide him in these tasks and wrought his mind
with maliciousness and emotional pain. It is clear to see that his faith in the fortunes is what is
wrenching his mind into such dark places. If not for being told of his greater becomings, Macbeth
would have been satisfied with the life he led, as he was honored by his granted title to Thane of
Cawdor. Only after meeting Macduff, who by word of the witches is the one who will kill him, does
he realize that he may very well have been tricked:
MACBETH. Accursèd be that tongue that tells me so,
For it hath cowed my better part of man!
And be these juggling fiends no more believed
That palter us in a double sense,
That keep the word of promise to our ear
And break it to our hope. (5.8.21 26)

no avail. Because he relied so heavily on the words that foretold his fate he was blinded to any

Comparison of Character and Voice
Discuss the ways in which the poets present character and voice in; Medusa and Les Grands Seigneurs
The two poems; Medusa and Les Grands Seigneurs (LGS) have their similarities and differences. The
most obvious being both speakers are women and how they subdue men. However, the most apparent
difference is the way both poets present character, with Medusa and her jealousy and mistrust towards
her partner; ...a doubt, a jealously . The standards of a woman are lowered; she is bitter, vicious and
twisted. Having snakes for hair and revealing the monster she has become, whereas in LGS the
dominance and prowess of the woman is expressed, men desperate for her attention; my hurdy gurdy
monkey men . Almost as if she has the men on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The use of this here is to symbolise the sexual meaning in butt which carries a double meaning, men
were her support, allowing the voice of the poem to have a joke. Remaining with my buttresses the
use of my is a possessive pronoun, once again reinforcing her superiority. In verse two the bowers is a
reference to a shady or leafy recess where lovers might go, however the courtesan could not marry as
she was out of reach , once again augmenting the semantic field. Continuing with the first stanza LGS
much like Medusa uses pleasant images, albeit they are sexual puns; peacocks and cockatoos . Here
the voice is suggesting men are birds, that they show off their colours (peacocks) or their feathers
stand up (cockatoos). Both poems present voice in the form of a 1st person narrative, allowing the
reader to see the point of view (opinions and thoughts) of the narrator. The poem Medusa calls out
directly to the you , the lover; and here you come . LGS on the other hand speaks out to the men and
their desperation, how they are shallow creatures; men were my dolphins . One thing the poems have
in common is found in the first word of the first verse, LGS uses; men and Medusa uses a suspicion .
The effect of this is that the poems straight into the subject, with Duffy s use of suspicion inferring
that the speaker is paranoid. Looking at the final stanza in LGS the voice has changed from active to
passive, the

The Guest By Daru, Balducci, And The Arab
Throughout the story of the guest, there are interactions made between the three characters, Daru,
Balducci, and the Arab. These interactions can be analyzed and interpreted in many different ways,
especially by conflicting emotions that can be seen in Daru pertaining to the situation created by the
presence of the other two characters. An example of the presence of conflicting emotions is that
although he shows much hospitality to both of his guests in the time that they are in his residence, he
has obvious negative feelings toward the Arab s situation. The many times that Daru is hospitable but
also feeling ambivalence towards the situation generates many possible interpretations of what Camus
intent for The Guest may actually be. As the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He also gives the Arab all the hospitality that one could offer a guest; Daru cooks a meal and allows
the Arab to eat first even though this could just be more hospitality there could also be a much deeper
level to this act (Camus 2258). He could also be showing his sympathy and disagreement as to how
the Arab has been treated and believes that maybe he should have just been left alone to live his life
according to the law of his people. Later Daru even makes the Arab a bed to sleep in for the night and
does not change his nightly routine or keep a gun by his bed (Camus 2259). This shows that Daru sees
him as a person thus making him deserving of respect. In this act he also gives the Arab a few more
things besides respect including trust and if he so chooses to take it, the chance to escape. With all of
the chances that Daru gives him to escape it can be concluded that he either hopes that the Arab will
run away so that he does not have to take him to prison or it could also be a test of the Arab s
character. The fact that he does not take any of the chances to escape is proof that the Arab is a
respectable man in terms of Daru s standards and maybe that is one of the reasons that he did kill his
cousin, as the Arabs whole goal in life may be to be respectable and not a coward by running away, as
his cousin did. All of these acts of hospitality greatly affect how Daru could be interpreted to be
feeling about the situation of the Arab and his

Introduction to Tourism and Travel
By definition Travel is an activity taken by individual(s) which involves the movement of people from
one point to another for the purpose of personal work, business, and enjoyment.
Tourism can be defined as the set of activities of persons traveling to and staying in places outside
their usual environment for not more than one consecutive year and whose main purpose of travel is
other than the exercise of an activity renumerated from within the place visited.
While on the surface travel and tourism mean approximately the same things, they
Represent two completely different ways of approaching a journey. Here are the differences between
travel and tourism, broken down by issues every person must consider when going to a new place.

The Period Of Ancient Greece
The Hellenistic Age was a period of ancient Greece lasting between 323 B.C after the death of
Alexander the Great and 30 B.C the beginning of the Roman Empire. Alexander was determined to
conquer unknown lands and his expedition provided a bridge between city states and the Greek
Hellenistic World. The Hellenistic World is what resulted from the disintegrated empire that came
short after Alexanders death. Four major Hellenistic kingdoms emerged from the successors of
Alexander. The Greeks and easterners made notable accomplishments during this period of
experiments, novelties and individualism which influenced the Roman culture. The Hellenistic
kingdoms shared much in common with their Greek past. Although they had a democratic form of
government it forced Greeks of the Hellenistic Age to accept monarchy, which they hated. For large
cities such as Seleucid, monarchism suited well. This establishment by Seleucus covered much of
Asia. The city of Pregamum later emerged by freeing itself from Seleucid and was under the Attalid
dynasty. Antigonus established the Antigonid dynasty as ruler of Macedonia, and Ptolemy established
himself as king of Egypt, founding the Ptolemaic dynasty of pharaohs. Not long after the four major
kingdoms were established challenges appeared from internal conflicts and external enemies.
Although they inherited the most lethal military system in the world from Alexander and Philip, these
wars required murderous weapons and machinery. Massive siege

considered mentally retarded if he or she has a significantly sub average general intellectual

As Americans we should take pride in our country and our citizens, by punishing these special people
not killing them. They did not choose their own mental impairments; therefore, they should not have
these horrible acts of injustice inflected on them.
In many cases, there have been numerous times that mentally ill convicts have been sentenced based
soley on the words that flow from their mouths. It is proven that a retarded person is simply not the
same as other adults. According to Felner, they are child like in may of their limitations: their ability to
reason and develop skills needed to navigate in the world are permanently stunted. In the case of Tony
Chambers, a black man with an IQ in the 50s and a mental age of 6. According to

confessed to the crime and will probably be executed, although no DNA evidence proved that he was
the perpetrator. The confession of a 6 year old would never stand alone in court, but because he was in
the body of an adult, his words were taken seriously and he was put to death.

Essay Nuclear Power
Nuclear Power In a world of ever increasing population there is a need to find a way to provide
electricity for the world. There many different ways that electricity can be produced but some of the
options are better suited for the Central Valley than others. The debate over Nuclear power has been
growing for years and it is now time to create a more reliable power source for the Central Valley.
Nuclear power should be considered to be a reliable source of power for the central valleys growing
population. Nuclear power has been around for many decades and has provided reliable power to the
American people. The first reactor that was used to provide electricity was on December 20 1951(US).

This is an easy and effective way to create electricity and can be used reliably without much cause for
concern. As seen in the diagram above the reactor in a nuclear facility is located inside of a building.
That building is created from reinforced cement and is made to hold the fuel in case of an emergency.
The opponents of nuclear power claim that nuclear power is not safe and it puts the general population
at risk of radiation. They point towards the Chernobyl accident as reason that nuclear power should
not be allowed. The Chernobyl accident happened in 1986 in the Ukraine and was devastating
(Chernobyl). The accident occurred during a test and By the time that the operator moved to shut
down the reactor, the reactor was in an extremely unstable condition (Chernobyl). The result was the
explosion of the reactor and the release of radioactive material into the environment. Yet another
example opponents point to would be the Three Mile Island nuclear power plant failure. At the plant
equipment malfunctions, design related problems and worker errors led to a partial meltdown of the
TMI 2 reactor core (backgrounder). This accident was the worst in the United States and caused a
review of nuclear power plants safety.
Opponents argue that another accident will happen and they do not want to go through another
accident like Three Mile Island or Chernobyl. Greenpeace has said that the use of nuclear power
would result in a

The Process and Factors of Wound Healing
Introduction
The skin, the biggest organ in the human body, has several vital functions, including sensation,
thermoregulation, protection and synthesis of vitamin D. Nurses would like to be knowledgeable
concerning what is thought of to be healthy skin (Pringle and Penzer2002). This is very important, as
the condition of the skin might typically be a sign of underlying disease (Casey 2002). Changes within
the skin may be one among the first indicators of an underlying health downside. Injury of either the
epidermis or the dermis can cause systemic infection, increased morbidity, increased value of care,
and negative psychosocial consequences (Schindler, Kuhn, Christopher, Conway, Ridling Simpson;
201one).
Wound healing is a dynamic, interactive method involving soluble mediators, blood cells, extracellular
matrix, and parenchymal cells. Wound healing has three phases: the inflammatory section, the
proliferative part, and the maturational or transforming phase. These phases could overlap in time
(Porth, 2011).
Inflammatory Phase
The inflammatory part starts at the time of injury with the formation of a blood clot and therefore the
migration of phagocytic white blood cells into the wound web site. The primary cells to arrive, the
neutrophils, ingest and take away bacteria and cellular debris. When twenty four hours, the neutrophils
are joined by macrophages, that still ingest cellular debris and play a necessary role in the production
of growth factors for the

Somewhere in the middle is Lalaina, a strange mixture of the two. She is the

unemployment leads her to look for jobs where she is inexperienced (working as a news

then becomes a slacker herself by eating chips and chain smoking in her pajamas for hours a day.
The social issues facing the characters in the film are what differentiates Reality Bites
from other so called generational flicks such as Rebel Without a Cause, The Graduate, and The

President Barack Obama s 2008 Campaign. In 2007, when the campaigning began, social networks
were still fresh and the government had not yet used it to their advantage. President Obama was able
to connect social networking applications to raise money, organize locally, fight smear campaigns and
get out the vote to help them topple the other candidates. It all was pretty simple, posting updates on
Facebook and tweeting reminders to vote. Through that strategy he was able to create an enormous
database of supporters and followers that Presidents before had never experienced or had even thought
to develop. With sites such as Change.Org, MyBO and being active on Twitter President Obama has
been able to utilize the social media work to his advantage, to create a more personal association with
his supports and creating more of a connection with the people. Social networks have become the
prime source of connectivity across the world. If Facebook were a country, it would be the 3rd largest.
Social networks have brought together one in eight married couples in the United States. Facebook on
its own was able to reach 200 million users in under a year trumping, television users, radio users and
internet users by years. Yet still social media develops every day. On social media, you are able to

Xbox One Vs Ps4 Research Paper
For the last couple of years all I have been using is the Xbox as the main console I use for gaming. I
have been very happy with my results, but I think that might change. Ps2 had a great run, but in my
opinion once the Xbox 360 came around I think it beat the Ps3. Now, that the Ps4 has come around it
has changed everything. This essay is about the Xbox one and the Ps4. At the end of this I will choose
which Is better and why. First we will talk the Ps4 which Is a gaming console made by Sony, a
Japanese company. Other than being a new console, it has also brought new features that It has never
had in the past. With the xbox 360 s controller being called the best controller ever made, Ps4 knew
they had to step it up. In this model Playstation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Speaking of online play, some games on the Ps4 do not need to go online to play, which good for the
times my wifi goes down or if I dont have wifi. I have a habit of burning through controller batteries
quick and i don t feel going out and buying a $30 rechargeable stands, but this is where Ps4 comes
into place. This console is more convenient because it is smaller that the Xbox one. The Ps4 already
come with a rechargeable cable which means that instead of waiting for my controller to get done
charging, i can play and charge it at the same time.
In conclusion the Ps4 comes out on top overpowering the Xbox one, although that could change.
Microsoft has unveiled that they are coming up with a new console called Project Scorpio that is
planning to beat the Ps4 by adding some of the Ps4 s features like vr(virtual reality) combined with
their own. I still have hope for, since i have been using the Xbox all my life, but we will have to wait
and see later this year to see what it has and for now, the Ps4 reigns

Essay about The Research on Bipolar Disorder
The human brain is a very complex system, much like a city it strives for order and efficiency.
However a patient with Bipolar Disorder has a very chaotic type of brain function; causing changes in
mood and sometimes suicidal thoughts Bipolar Disorder is a common psychiatric mood disorder that
is defined by recurrent episodes of abnormally elevated mood and depression, changes in energy and,
the ability to carry out day to day tasks. (Joel, Jakosson and colleges) Bipolar Disorder (BD) is a
chronic disease with high risk of relapse. This disease also results in a high rate of suicidal mortality.

They also check through the patient s medical history, and finally have them take a physiological test.
Psychiatrists require the person to answer multiple choice questions or explain the meanings of
drawings and pictures. Responses to test items may reveal a lot about the person s behavior and
moods. (Peacock, Judith) When diagnosing BD a psychiatrist also has to go off of experience and
training, which is why many patients can go several years before being properly diagnosed. (Peacock,
Judith) Doctors don t completely understand what causes BD, but experts believe that it is caused by
unbalanced Neurotransmitters. Neurotransmitters are chemicals produced by the brain and they work
in conjunction with hormones to carry out all of the body s essential functions. Noradrenaline,
serotonin and dopamine are the three main chemicals that are thought to be responsible for BD.
(WebMD) Noradrenaline, also known as norepinephrine, is a neurotransmitter and a hormone.
Noradrenaline is used in the brain to regulate attention, sleep, learning, and emotions. It also plays an
important role in regulating the body s stress response, regulating normal functions such as heart rate
and regulating the bodies fight or flight response. It is secreted by the adrenal medualla glands, and is

purchasing fixed assets like land and building, machinery so on. In order to survive in this competitive
world every organisation need to have a good strength of finance available to their business or else

This is a common method of financing a start up. The founder provides all the share capital of the
company, retaining 100% control over the business. The advantages of investing in share capital are
covered in the section on business structure. The key point to note here is that the entrepreneur may be
using a variety of personal sources to invest in the shares. Once the investment has been made, it is the
company that owns the money provided. The shareholder obtains a return on this investment through
dividends (payments out of profits) and/or the value of the business when it is eventually sold. A start
up company can also raise finance by selling shares to external investors this is covered further below.
1.2 External sources * Loan capital This can take several forms, but the most common are a bank loan
or bank overdraft. A bank loan provides a longer term kind of finance for a start up, with the bank
stating the fixed period over which the loan is provided (e.g. 5 years), the rate of interest and the
timing and amount of repayments. The bank will usually require that the start up provide some
security for the loan, although this security normally comes in the form of personal guarantees
provided by the entrepreneur. Bank loans are good for financing investment in

Ursula In The Sirens From Homer s Odyssey
What would the world be without villains? What would become of all of the people who are very
heroic, but have no way to prove it? That is where villains come in. A villain is a malicious person
who is involved in or devoted to wickedness Ursula from Disney s The Little Mermaid is a villain, but
the Sirens from Homer s Odyssey exhibit more evilness by tricking people, killing people, and being
clever. Some people believe Ursula is a good villain because she is tricky, she figuratively kill people,
and she is clever, but she only did most of the evil things to keep Ariel as her prisoner. To start it off,
Ursula is evil because she is tricky, she tricks Ariel into giving up her voice. The movie highlights,

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Living Abroad
It is without doubt that for some people, going to a foreign country can be quite the shock. Before I
experienced living abroad, I was adamant that I too would experience a culture shock. What happened
was totally the opposite.
I spend my last year of my bachelor studies living in Belgium, Ghent. I received a scholarship, so I did
not have to work to support myself. Instedad I focused on my studies and of course on the adventure.
You see, culture shock is not something you catch, like the flu or the common cold; it s not something
you get when you set foot on the airport, it s a feeling and it is not always there. If I was in a more
exotic place than Europe, I believe I would have had a minor culture shock, but having to write about
a culture shock I experienced during my stay in a European country is simply impossible.

One of the teachers that had a huge impact on my studies, and inspired me to continue studing amerian

Analysis Of Handedness And Brain Asymmetry
Handedness and brain asymmetry are both very important aspects of humans and many other species.
They are innate, complicated features that are distinct to everyone. Unfortunately, many people have
made assumptions that exaggerate the importance and dominance of one side of the brain from the
other. It is understood that the left brain controls the right hand and specializes in language and logic.
Alternatively, the right brain controls the left hand and specializes in creativity, intuition, and emotion.
In the essay written on January 21st, 2014 in the School of Psychology in the University of Auckland,
Left Brain, Right Brain: Facts and Fantasies, Michael C. Corballis clears misconceptions and myths

He explains that the brain is asymmetrical, not only to humans, but to many other species as well,
which indicate an evolutionary development. He then explains that handedness and brain asymmetries
are determined through gene and are developed during the fetus stage. Corballis states the idea that
handedness is of little importance when determining a person s worth, as many left handers (which are
less dominant) succeed in life. He concludes that the appeal of having dominance in one brain side or
handedness is due to the power of myths and not true evidence. (1 4) Corballis focuses on two main
topics in his essay: handedness and cerebral asymmetry. These are two key terms to recognize in order
to understand this paper. The author is aware of this and repetitively explains these phrases and how
they relate to his claim. Corballis states that the two are inborn and under partial genetic control,
although the gene or genes responsible are not well established (1). It is significant that Corballis
portrays these terms in this way because the readers may have their own interpretation of them
beforehand. But to clear any misunderstandings, Corballis explains that handedness and cerebral
asymmetry start as an innate feature rather than a specialization. This shows Corballis s exceptional
ability as a writer because he defines the terms in a way that suits his claims and dismisses any
misconceptions. Corballis also states that the two are

Categorizing Personality Types Essay
Outgoing and spontaneous, or level headed and reserved: these are ways in which people identify the
others surrounding them every day. These personality indicators may seem easy to distinguish;
however, at times, finding one s own personality type can be difficult. In the early 1900s, a Swedish
psychologist named Carl Jung introduced the idea of categorizing personalities into identifiable types
(Boeree). By investigating the subconscious, Jung was able to classify personality types that have
certain characteristics in common. This became known as typology (Boeree; TheFreeDictionary.com).
Several years later, Katherine Briggs and her daughter, Isabel Briggs Myers, took Jung s typology to
the next level. Together they separated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, extroverted people tend to act impulsively without thinking of consequences. An introverted
person will think about his or her actions before committing to them (Extroversion). After taking the
Myers Briggs test, I discovered that I had an extroverted personality (Flynn). This is very prevalent in
my job, as well as school. While I benefit from some time to myself, I enjoy working with groups of
people. If I must choose between conducting a project on my own or with a group, I will usually pick
the group. I also have a job that requires working with large groups of children. While some
individuals may find such a large group overwhelming, I find it easy and comfortable. Another
indicator of my extroverted personality is my tendency to act on impulse. Many times, I will enroll in
classes before I take the time to see if I need them or will do well in them. I also make choices without
considering consequences. Last semester, I chose to skip class to attend other events. While friends
thought it made me a fun, flexible person, I ended up failing my class due to absences. Being
introverted and extroverted both have their positive and negative qualities, but I typically benefit from
my outgoing personality. The next set of traits is sensing and intuitive. These types refer to the way a

America s Inadvertent Empire By Robert Dujarric And...
The current overwhelming dominance of the unprecedented modern American empire in the realm of
world politics generally agreed upon by experts and scholars around the world. There is little to refute
the argument that there is any state that comes close to the strength of the Americans in a vast number
of areas, most notably economically and militarily. Present debate among experts in the field of
international relations revolves around whether the Americans can maintain their primacy for
upcoming generations. Robert Dujarric and William Odom, both experienced and respected scholars
of international relations, declare in their 2004 work, America s Inadvertent Empire, that America is in
a solid position to keep a tight hold on its place at the top. Vividly explaining America s path to
dominance while emphasizing the current state of domination, the authors effectively present the
abilities of the empire while also illustrating the potential threats that could bring it down.
No one was stopping the force of America s dominance that has characterized global affairs since
America s entrance into the world stage of great powers following its victories in the Spanish
American war of 1898 (Farrenkopf). Their incidental rise, partly due to country s many natural
advantages at its disposal, including large population and landmass, oceanic protection from Europe
and East Asia, natural resources and favorable climate, is largely credited by the authors to its liberal
institutions,

Mussolini consolidation of fascist power in Italy in the years 1922 1929 could have been mainly due
to the use of force and intimidation. However this was not a straightforward process, since fascism
was a new thing. In the years 1922 to January 1925 marked the transition from the liberal
parliamentary system to the fascist state. Like many political transitions, it was an untidy and
complicated process. Although from the start Mussolini s intentions were quite difficult to establish,

Congenital Cataracts Cause Blindness Around The World
Congenital Cataract is one of the leading preventable diseases that causes blindness around the world,
being one of the easiest diseases to treat, the major complication being that some countries do not
have the sufficient resources to treat it. The disease is formed in the eye and forms a sort of cloud in
the natural lens of the eye that could eventually lead to blindness if not treated properly. This type of
cataract is different from most cataracts, since congenital cataracts is present in an individual since
birth, meaning that it was most likely inherited from the parents. The way that it is inherited is by
some sort of abnormality, which would transpire during the making of the proteins that make the lens

The study done by these researchers proved that timely surgery can be beneficial to the vision of
individuals who suffer from congenital cataracts. They analyzed results from the aftermath of eye
surgery there was a small improvement to most of the individuals vision. There were various
individuals whose vision was not corrected and in fact was worsened. The children at the time were
around 11 years old, so it was concluded that some of the children had had the disease for too long for
it to be corrected. This underlines the significance of discovering and treating congenital cataracts at a
young age, preferably as an infant. Most developing countries are still aiming to improve their health
care and avoiding the consequences of congenital cataracts, yet they are in trouble with nearly 30% of
health professions in Africa and Asia plan to migrate to a different country (Lenhart, 2016). In Lenhart

struggles. These financial struggles lead to poor resources within the countries. These developing
countries do not even have the machinery to detect eye diseases in children, such as the red reflex
screening. Without these tests, infants are left with a preventable disease

The Roots Of Six Sigma Measurement
The roots of Six Sigma as a tool of standard measurement can be traced back to the time of Carl
Friedrich, who lived between 1777 to 1855. Friedrich introduced the concept that is today called the
normal curve. The origination of the Six Sigma measurement standard came way during the time of
Friedrich, but it took the Six Sigma format in the 1920s as a genesis of Walter Shewhart who
demonstrated that Sigma as from the mean is the location where a particular process is in need of
correction. There were other standards of measurement during this time like Cpk and Zero Defects but
the coining of the term Six Sigma is advocated to a Motorola engineer called Bill Smith (Goldsby
Martichenko, 2005). Way the mid 1980s, when the chair of Motorola was Bob Galvin, the Motorola
engineers made a decision that the initial quality levels, which involved measurement of defects
within a thousand opportunities, had not provided enough granularities. Therefore, these engineers
wanted to make measurements of the defects for every million opportunities. It was during this helm
that Motorola decided to develop this new standard, creating its methodology together with other
cultural changes associated with it. With the use of this new tool of measurement, now called Six
Sigma, Motorola was able to achieve powerful threshold results within the organization. For instance,
the company was able to document more than $16 billion in savings simply because of the use of Six
Sigma. It was at this

Disadvantages Of Romantic Relationships
Teens become interested and involved in dating because of the desire to belong to others during
adolescence. As a consequence, it is clear that over the time, romantic relationships gain in
importance. Adolescents crave to hold an intimate romantic relationship to which love is made and
received without restriction. It is according to the need to belong theory by which souls possess the
determination to join with others in enduring, faithful relationships. Furthermore, the hypothesis states
that humans share the same need to be a part or connected with other mortals, and claims that all souls
may live life better if they are linked. Myers (2010) confirmed the demand to belong theory by
insisting that people who see a person complimenting their needs to whom they can share their
problems with, makes those people more acknowledge able. Belongings are supported by close, cozy
relationship which tends to be healthier and happier. Because of this need to belong, we can see now
that most university students are synchronizing their time in both academic and romantic views.
Engaging themselves in this romantic relationship enables them to feel that someone cares for them,
shows affection to them, loves them, etc. Furthermore, research led by Campbell Oliver ... Show more

Kurger, Michael. Canon Revisited: establishing the Origins and Authority of the New Testament
Books. Wheaton, IL: Crossway 2012.
Summary As a professor of New Testament at the Reformed Theological Seminary in North Carolina,

book is written in an attempt to answer, the fundamental question of how we, as Christians, ... Show

It is refreshing and obvious in his book the history of his study of the topic. He includes many direct
references, making it clear that his views are synthesized from research and not strictly from opinion.
The information in presented in a way that it is not overbearing, but theologically sound and able to be
proven. Kruger demonstrates his knowledge and expertise in this book to seamlessly lead the reader
into his objective. Aiding to the author s credibility is his current professorship on the subject and the
book expounding from the class itself within a seminary. Another strength in Canon Revisited:
Establishing the Origins and Authority of the New Testament Books, comes from his acknowledgment
that there are other contributing factors than the finite opinion of the book. He presents three different
models and then discredits two of them, in favor of the third, self authentication, as the most accurate
model. However, he does mention that the community and historical models do have some role to play
in the determination of the canon. He mentions that often these background factors often are brought
to the forefront when determining the proper model for the New

The goal for using this model is to increase student learning growth by improving the quality of
instructional, administrative, and supervisory practices. Assessing is a major priority in the school
system because this is the only way principals are aware of the progress their students and teachers are
producing. It is recommended that principals meet monthly with other administrators to stay up to date
on the current changes in the curriculum, instruction, and assessments. The school leadership teams
must ensure that they are choosing instructional works that have high success rates for enhancing
student achievement. If the data results from the assessment show that the majority of students are not
producing learning gains, the school s principal should sit down with the teacher to discuss and
reevaluate the lessons that are being taught. Accordingly, the state of Florida requires students in
grades 3 12 to take the FCAT 2.0. This test is used to measure the competency level of students by
grade level and is an indication of effectiveness of lessons taught. Furthermore, teachers are not only
gauged by the students grades and administrator evaluation, but also by standardized test like the
FCAT.

instead of browsing through a furniture catalogue. Simply sand the wood down till it s a smooth finish,
and add a wood stain of your choosing to make the wood pop!
Everyone Needs a Desk Yes, everyone. If a desk seems unaffordable or you simply enjoy the idea of
upcycling, give this pallet desk a try. Easy to build and super customizable depending on your needs,

is simple to create and you won t feel weird for having it in your backyard. While everyone else is
wondering where you got it, you can smile to yourself knowing that you created it yourself.
Wine or Beverage Holders A decoration that is easy to do. You can keep the wood dull to keep up that
rustic antique feel, or you can sand the wood down and apply a wood stain for an ultra modern look.

  • 2. Mexican American And Mexican Americans Essay Introduction One of the largest Hispanic origin population in the United states are Mexicans (Gonzales Barrera Lopez, 2013). Mexican American s are considered minorities in the United States. There are many reason why I am choosing to explore Mexican Americans for this paper. As a minority myself, I can relate to some of the struggles that Mexican American s may face. However, there are some things that I will never relate to or know the personal aspect of the Mexican culture. Just like any other population, Mexican Americans have their own culture, values, and challenges. Strengths Mexican Americans find their strength through their culture, family, relationships and networks. Mexican Americans have strengths with their extended family. Mexican American families frequently function within extended family networks that include godparents and members of other families (Miley, M., L., 2013). There is more advantage when you have more network with extended family and other families. It essentially means a larger support system. One of the major strengths of Mexican American families is a quantitative rather than a qualitative difference from other ethnic groups (Miley, M., L., 2013). Some people may not realize that Mexican Americans tend to stick together and support each other because it is a part of their cultural background. Just like religion is a part of Mexican American s cultural background as well. Most of the time Mexican American s share similar spiritual ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Psychological And Mental Effects Of Fertility Introduction According to the Department of Health and Human Services (2005), approximately 10% to 15% of couples would experience infertility in some form. Infertility occurs when a couple tries to have children without any success (Chandra, 2005). Though most cases of infertility can be attributed to physiological factors in one or both partners, it still has a psychological impact on the relationship. The psychological and mental effects of fertility are present in both men and women, but there are options to help a couple get through it. Infertility describes the reproductive disease that causes a reduced potential for a man or woman to conceive or the failure of a woman to carry a child to term. Clinically, infertility is defined as the inability of women and men to achieve pregnancy after 12 months of unprotected sexual intercourse. This time frame is reduced to 6 months for women over 35, as women become less fertile as they get older. Infertility in couples is categorized into two broad categories. Primary infertility describes a case without any previous pregnancy, while secondary infertility occurs in a couple who have carried at least one pregnancy to term, but is having fertility problems on further tries. Another reproductive issue closely related to infertility is sterility, which leaves no chance for impregnation. Genetic Factors Like most subjects under life span development, infertility is a result of both genetic and environmental factors. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

People argued back and forth over how it was just Disney s style against They re carbon copies of each other! A tumblr user under the alias of turbomun, real name Gianna, took the chance to post about the difference between Same Face Syndrome and stylization. In Gianna s post, titled Sameface [sic] Syndrome and Other Stories, the very first thing she does is let you know how easy it is for someone to fall into Same Face Syndrome. In the very first sentence she introduces herself as a student of the arts, just as many of her fellow bloggers are or aspire to be. It leads all decisions and outcomes, if one so chooses to believe in the concept of predestination. In Macbeth, by William Shakespeare, three witches decisively go against their orders and toy with the lives of thousands of people by telling riddles of the future and it s biddings. Evidently, all those who were given a glance into their future by the meddling trio soon let sanity slip through their fingers and fell into their eventual demise. His wits last him until the insight that he will become the Thane of Cawdor proved the witches true. He follows his wife s footsteps and joins in on the apparent necessity of assassinating all those who may stand in his way. Unlike his wife, Macbeth s mind takes an early toll as he begins to hallucinate images that guide him in these tasks and wrought his mind with maliciousness and emotional pain. It is clear to see that his faith in the fortunes is what is wrenching his mind into such dark places. If not for being told of his greater becomings, Macbeth would have been satisfied with the life he led, as he was honored by his granted title to Thane of Cawdor. Only after meeting Macduff, who by word of the witches is the one who will kill him, does he realize that he may very well have been tricked: MACBETH. Comparison of Character and Voice Discuss the ways in which the poets present character and voice in; Medusa and Les Grands Seigneurs The two poems; Medusa and Les Grands Seigneurs (LGS) have their similarities and differences. The most obvious being both speakers are women and how they subdue men. However, the most apparent difference is the way both poets present character, with Medusa and her jealousy and mistrust towards her partner; ...a doubt, a jealously . The standards of a woman are lowered; she is bitter, vicious and twisted. In verse two the bowers is a reference to a shady or leafy recess where lovers might go, however the courtesan could not marry as she was out of reach , once again augmenting the semantic field. Continuing with the first stanza LGS much like Medusa uses pleasant images, albeit they are sexual puns; peacocks and cockatoos . Here the voice is suggesting men are birds, that they show off their colours (peacocks) or their feathers stand up (cockatoos). Both poems present voice in the form of a 1st person narrative, allowing the reader to see the point of view (opinions and thoughts) of the narrator. The poem Medusa calls out directly to the you , the lover; and here you come . LGS on the other hand speaks out to the men and their desperation, how they are shallow creatures; men were my dolphins . One thing the poems have in common is found in the first word of the first verse, LGS uses; men and Medusa uses a suspicion . • 8. The Guest By Daru, Balducci, And The Arab Throughout the story of the guest, there are interactions made between the three characters, Daru, Balducci, and the Arab. These interactions can be analyzed and interpreted in many different ways, especially by conflicting emotions that can be seen in Daru pertaining to the situation created by the presence of the other two characters. An example of the presence of conflicting emotions is that although he shows much hospitality to both of his guests in the time that they are in his residence, he has obvious negative feelings toward the Arab s situation. The many times that Daru is hospitable but also feeling ambivalence towards the situation generates many possible interpretations of what Camus intent for The Guest may actually be. As the ... He also gives the Arab all the hospitality that one could offer a guest; Daru cooks a meal and allows the Arab to eat first even though this could just be more hospitality there could also be a much deeper level to this act (Camus 2258). He could also be showing his sympathy and disagreement as to how the Arab has been treated and believes that maybe he should have just been left alone to live his life according to the law of his people. Later Daru even makes the Arab a bed to sleep in for the night and does not change his nightly routine or keep a gun by his bed (Camus 2259). This shows that Daru sees him as a person thus making him deserving of respect. In this act he also gives the Arab a few more things besides respect including trust and if he so chooses to take it, the chance to escape. With all of the chances that Daru gives him to escape it can be concluded that he either hopes that the Arab will run away so that he does not have to take him to prison or it could also be a test of the Arab s character. The fact that he does not take any of the chances to escape is proof that the Arab is a respectable man in terms of Daru s standards and maybe that is one of the reasons that he did kill his cousin, as the Arabs whole goal in life may be to be respectable and not a coward by running away, as his cousin did. The Hellenistic World is what resulted from the disintegrated empire that came short after Alexanders death. Four major Hellenistic kingdoms emerged from the successors of Alexander. The Greeks and easterners made notable accomplishments during this period of experiments, novelties and individualism which influenced the Roman culture. The Hellenistic kingdoms shared much in common with their Greek past. Although they had a democratic form of government it forced Greeks of the Hellenistic Age to accept monarchy, which they hated. For large cities such as Seleucid, monarchism suited well. This establishment by Seleucus covered much of Asia. The city of Pregamum later emerged by freeing itself from Seleucid and was under the Attalid dynasty. Antigonus established the Antigonid dynasty as ruler of Macedonia, and Ptolemy established himself as king of Egypt, founding the Ptolemaic dynasty of pharaohs. In 2007, when the campaigning began, social networks were still fresh and the government had not yet used it to their advantage. President Obama was able to connect social networking applications to raise money, organize locally, fight smear campaigns and get out the vote to help them topple the other candidates. It all was pretty simple, posting updates on Facebook and tweeting reminders to vote. Through that strategy he was able to create an enormous database of supporters and followers that Presidents before had never experienced or had even thought to develop. With sites such as Change.Org, MyBO and being active on Twitter President Obama has been able to utilize the social media work to his advantage, to create a more personal association with his supports and creating more of a connection with the people. Instedad I focused on my studies and of course on the adventure. You see, culture shock is not something you catch, like the flu or the common cold; it s not something you get when you set foot on the airport, it s a feeling and it is not always there. They are innate, complicated features that are distinct to everyone. Unfortunately, many people have made assumptions that exaggerate the importance and dominance of one side of the brain from the other. It is understood that the left brain controls the right hand and specializes in language and logic. Alternatively, the right brain controls the left hand and specializes in creativity, intuition, and emotion. He explains that the brain is asymmetrical, not only to humans, but to many other species as well, which indicate an evolutionary development. He then explains that handedness and brain asymmetries are determined through gene and are developed during the fetus stage. Corballis states the idea that handedness is of little importance when determining a person s worth, as many left handers (which are less dominant) succeed in life. He concludes that the appeal of having dominance in one brain side or handedness is due to the power of myths and not true evidence. (1 4) Corballis focuses on two main topics in his essay: handedness and cerebral asymmetry. These are two key terms to recognize in order to understand this paper. The author is aware of this and repetitively explains these phrases and how they relate to his claim. Corballis states that the two are inborn and under partial genetic control, although the gene or genes responsible are not well established (1). It is significant that Corballis portrays these terms in this way because the readers may have their own interpretation of them beforehand. But to clear any misunderstandings, Corballis explains that handedness and cerebral asymmetry start as an innate feature rather than a specialization. This shows Corballis s exceptional ability as a writer because he defines the terms in a way that suits his claims and dismisses any misconceptions. Corballis also states that the two are ... These personality indicators may seem easy to distinguish; however, at times, finding one s own personality type can be difficult. In the early 1900s, a Swedish psychologist named Carl Jung introduced the idea of categorizing personalities into identifiable types (Boeree). By investigating the subconscious, Jung was able to classify personality types that have certain characteristics in common. This became known as typology (Boeree; TheFreeDictionary.com). While I benefit from some time to myself, I enjoy working with groups of people. If I must choose between conducting a project on my own or with a group, I will usually pick the group. I also have a job that requires working with large groups of children. While some individuals may find such a large group overwhelming, I find it easy and comfortable. Present debate among experts in the field of international relations revolves around whether the Americans can maintain their primacy for upcoming generations. Friedrich introduced the concept that is today called the normal curve. The origination of the Six Sigma measurement standard came way during the time of Friedrich, but it took the Six Sigma format in the 1920s as a genesis of Walter Shewhart who demonstrated that Sigma as from the mean is the location where a particular process is in need of correction. There were other standards of measurement during this time like Cpk and Zero Defects but the coining of the term Six Sigma is advocated to a Motorola engineer called Bill Smith (Goldsby Martichenko, 2005). Way the mid 1980s, when the chair of Motorola was Bob Galvin, the Motorola engineers made a decision that the initial quality levels, which involved measurement of defects within a thousand opportunities, had not provided enough granularities. Therefore, these engineers wanted to make measurements of the defects for every million opportunities. It was during this helm that Motorola decided to develop this new standard, creating its methodology together with other cultural changes associated with it. As a consequence, it is clear that over the time, romantic relationships gain in importance. Adolescents crave to hold an intimate romantic relationship to which love is made and received without restriction. It is according to the need to belong theory by which souls possess the determination to join with others in enduring, faithful relationships. Furthermore, the hypothesis states that humans share the same need to be a part or connected with other mortals, and claims that all souls may live life better if they are linked. Myers (2010) confirmed the demand to belong theory by insisting that people who see a person complimenting their needs to whom they can share their problems with, makes those people more acknowledge able. Belongings are supported by close, cozy relationship which tends to be healthier and happier.
