Firewalls are set up on computers to help protect computers and other devices from attacks from
potentially harmful websites and other resources. Proxies are servers that act as a middle man for
computers. They allow users to make indirect connections to other servers. The LAN to WAN domain
is where the infrastructure connects to the Internet. Updates, firewalls and proxies will help to keep
things running and help to keep it protected. The fifth domain is the WAN domain. In this domain, the
network security application that is apart of it is the intrusion detection system/intrusion prevention
system (IDS/IPS). This device monitors the system for malicious activities and reports it back (Kim
Solomon, 2012). The WAN Domain connects to remote locations and using the IDS/IPS is crucial
because it will help to remote if any outside activity is trying to access the system that should not be.
The sixth domain is the Remote Access Domain. In this domain, the network security applications that
is apart of it is Proxies. Similar to LAN to WAN domain, proxies help to allow users to connect to
server through another server. Remote access allows users to connect to the server remotely and
Proxies give a user the opportunity to use a proxy server to do this. The seventh domain is the

Critical Analysis Of Their Eyes Were Watching God
Brian Sandoval 11/11/17
Mr. Amoroso AP Literature Their Eyes Were Watching God LAP Topic 4 To find the elusive and
coveted treasure of love, a dauntless expedition is untaken into life s catacombs, scouring through the
tunnels and evading the traps that lurk in the shadowy corners. This journey can t be completed
without sorrow and suffering yet the marring of the soul from the journey can break a person s
resolve, ultimately believing that the treasure they once sought was merely a fable. Due to being
caught in the trap of despair and hopelessness, survivors mold a chitin from the pain endured in order
to shield themselves from additional pain, often reluctant to peer their head out of their protective
ward. At the same time, by hiding in the confines of a cocoon, they are unable to view the opportunity
and take the plunge once more that may finally reward their sacrifice. Janie May Crawford, the
protagonist of Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston, in her youth and inexperience
goes through many trials and tribulations in the search of love and what it truly is. Janie paints a
beautiful and naïve image of love as her dreams and hopes blind her from reality. The experience
garnered from her relationships with her three spouses, the illusion of her youth is swept, remolding
her painting into its true form. Janie, a young woman, began to dwell on thoughts of love and marriage
as these new curiosities blossomed within her and spent her free

Technological Method
The Technological Forecasting method is used to analyze the market for the life span of an existing
technology to determine if its close to end of like and to see if a new product or technology is ready to
enter an existing market. It is also used to identify competing new technology and to forecast sales.
Before a new innovative product enters into the market Technology Forecasting is one of several
methods used to determine if customers will buy it. The Technology method should always be used in
conjunction with other tools to identify prospective customers, prototypes, focus groups, interviews,
market testing, internet polls and other tools to get a better understanding of the market. The major
techniques for technological forecasting is numeric data and judgmental. Numeric data based
forecasting extrapolates history by generating statistical fits to historical data. Judgmental forecasting
can also be based on past projection but like the Delphi method it relies on the subjective judgment of
experts. Keep in mind that technological forecasting is most appropriately applied to capabilities, not
to the specific characteristics of specific devices. Other Numeric data techniques are Trend
Extrapolation, Qualitative Approaches, Growth Curves, Envelop Curves and Substitution models.
Techniques used by Judgment Base method are Monitoring, Network Analysis,

Components Of A Sociological Perspective
In a sociological perspective, there are main components the average human being uses as a guide to
maneuver their lives and their decision making. For some, culture is the main factor due to religion
and other cultural beliefs and upbringings. With these beliefs, we tend to not explore and experience
things in our life because we want to remain close to our culture and live the safe and secure life to
reach Heaven or the higher place afterlife. This is a form of social institution . A social institution is
defined as a collection of individuals banded together in pursuit of a common purpose. A social
institution s common purposes include granting its members certain rights and privileges. We all are
involve in a social institution that helped shaped who we are and where we are planning on going.
Family is one debt you will never escape while breathing air on this planet! Everyone has them
whether you are communicating with them or not. Family plays the biggest factor in your daily life
from the moment you take your first breath. As you grow older, you begin to realize that you are going
to have to make your own decision on building your own family by getting married. The issue with
that, Marriage isn t put on a pedestal and a matter of fact, it s kind of frown upon until you reach 30
years of age. Marriage was more of a personal, emotional, and more of a sacrifice to spend the rest of
your life with this other individual no matter the circumstances. Now, it s a

Advantages Of Pair Trading
Pair trading can be carried out in many methods of which distance trading and co integration models
are the most important methods.
Gatev et al. (2006) test a pairs trading strategy over 1962 to 2002 and provide valuable insights into
the development of the risk and return characteristics over time. It is perhaps the most cited paper on
pairs trading and uses distance method. They form pairs over a twelve month period based on
minimizing the squared deviations between normalized price series of the two securities. They back
test a simple trading algorithm with daily data in the period 1962 2002 using S P 500 constituents and
find average annualised returns of up to 11% for portfolios of pairs. Although the proposed strategy is
profitable the authors note that returns have declined in recent years, possible due to increased
competition among hedge funds and/or a reduction in the importance of an underlying common factor
that drives the returns in a pairs trading strategy. A thorough analysis of the risk characteristics shows
that returns have a high risk adjusted alpha and an insignificant exposure to sources of systematic risk.

(2010) back test a pairs trading algorithm using intraday data over a twelve month period in 2007, and
conclude that returns are highly sensitive to the speed of execution. Moreover, accounting for
transaction costs and enforcing a wait one period restriction, excess returns are complete eliminated.
Engelberg et al. (2009) seek to explain the nature behind pairs trading profits, and find that
possibilities for profit are greatest soon after equilibrium divergence, and that the divergence is
strongly related to how information disperses through the stocks that form the pair. Idiosyncratic
liquidity shocks result in higher profitability than idiosyncratic news and when there is information
common to both legs of the pair, profit possibilities may arise when the information is more quickly
incorporated into one stock than the

the angels and committing to him dominion over the earth. But he approached the forbidden fruit, led
by selfish desires and ambitions...He freed us by his redeeming passion and on this same Friday
offered himself on the cross to save the guilty Adam. On Friday, Adam was created, and on Friday

In the Shimo (divine office) of the Malankara Catholic Church there is typological presentation of
Mary almost every day. In Malankara Catholic Liturgy we find three important typologies of Mary
namely Mary as Mother of God, Mary as the Holy Virgin and Mary as our intercessor. The Mother of
God typology are Chariot of Ezekiel , the ark of the covenant , the pot containing Manna , the rod of
Aaron , the new jar of Elisha and the rock that produced water . An example from Shimo illustrates
this below.
In the law and in prophecy Moses, the head of the prophets: represented the figure of the blessed
mother, by ark of the law and the pot of manna, and by the staff of Aaron which budded within the
holy of holies, and by the dew and the flee of Gideon and by the new jar of Eliseus and by the light
cloud of the glorious Isaiah. (Shimo; Subaho; Ramsho on Wednesday; 3rd qolo; 2nd Para)
The Virginity typology of Mary are the burning bush that Moses saw , closed door of the chariot of
Ezekiel , flee of Gideon , the closed garden and the sealed fountain of Solomon . The following extract
from Shimo illustrates Virginity typology of Mary.

Relationship Between Architecture And The Human Body
The Relationship between Architecture and the Human Body
Introduction
The human body is the ultimate tool for discovering the environment. Human anatomy is considered
to be nature s peak of perfection and certain features serve as inspiration for many architects. To study
the relationship between the human body and architecture, one must not be limited to human body
parts resemblance to architectural works but to a larger extent consider human emotions, sensory
nerves, the mind and general human psychology. In essence everything that makes us human. In its
simplest definition Architecture can be described as an art or practice of designing buildings. It is
practiced in a way that accomplishes both practical and communicative or expressive requirements. To
relate it to human body then Architecture can widely define the place, the site, the energy, the systems,
the building, the flora and fauna. These components that bring aesthetic property to humanity apart
from the utilitarian purpose it serves. The perfect balance of a normal human body and the proportions
are incorporated into architecture from a point of view of imitation, idealized allusion and the actual
human use. Evidence of such human incorporation into architecture is seen from the Ancient Greek
Architectures where it was common for tower columns to take shape of a human being like in the
colossus of the Ancient ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Architecture should be nurturing, responsive and alive, dynamically shifting spatial balances,
organically expressive forms, subtly luminous colors and biologically healthy. To achieve such life
enhancing architecture, it has to address all the body senses simultaneously and fuse our image of self
with experience of the world. By strengthening our sense of self and reality, architecture serves its all
important function of accommodation and

Literary Analysis Of The Turn Of The Screw
Gothic horror has been an interest to many people for centuries. It first peaked around the 1790 s. It is
a stylistic genre of horror that uses a set of characteristics to cause a sense of fear in the audience or
readers. The Turn of the Screw, by Henry James, who also wrote his story in 1898 during the Victorian
area, uses gothic horror conventions to reflect the complexity of the human psyche which, leaves the
audience with a sense of ambiguity, or fear of the unknown. The Turn of the Screw is a great short
story that uses rhetorical and literary devices to express a ghost story. The story involves a governess
who becomes obsessed with the idea of trying to prove that there are ghosts in the household, while
also trying to do her job of protecting the children. She often encounters two ghosts that she believes
are trying to corrupt her pupils, and are also communicating with them without her knowing. Henry
James uses his story to invoke the fears of the Victorian era; fears of which include the corruption of
children, potential evil, and the reliability of a governess in a household. In our world, people are often
asking themselves if they can ever trust having someone entering their home. In The Turn of the
Screw, Henry James uses the fear of reliability to trigger the audience s fear of trusting someone into
their home. For example, in his short story, the governess questions what happened to the previous
governess. Mrs. Grose then proceeds to state, The last governess? She was also young and pretty
almost as young and almost as pretty, Miss, even as you, (James 130). Mrs. Grose implies that there
was an affair and because of it, the previous governess is no longer there. It can later be seen that Mrs.
Grose is suggesting that the current governess may cause trouble and end up being in the same
position as the previous governess; especially when Mrs. Grose says, ...almost as young and almost as
pretty, Miss, even as you, (James 130). The audience then becomes fearful and more cautious of their
choices because they wouldn t want this situation to occur to them. In There is a strong prejudice
against governess by Mary Maurice, the author states that in the Victorian era, governesses often have

Explain Why The Period Of Home Rule Is Significant In The...
1. Explain why the period of Home Rule is significant in the context of both colonial identity and self
governance:
Home rule is defined as the government of a colony, dependent country, or region by its own citizens.
This definition explains that the colonists felt like they were left to rule their own government while
trying to separate from British ruling. Home Rule was significant in colonial identity because the
colonists were able to develop their own identity away from the British which made them a stronger
force to be reckoned with. The colonists used their newfound identity when they finally declared
independence from the British to establish the basis of the United States of America.
While the colonists were establishing their own identities, they were also gaining useful experience in
self governance, which proved to be useful with their declaration of independence from the British.
The colonists learned how to handle local issues through self governance and were able to
successfully remove themselves from Parliament and run their own democracy. I believe with their
experience in self governance, the colonists learned what worked best for their needs and what didn t
help them at all, eventually putting that knowledge into effect in their ... Show more content on

Constitution established the three branches of government; the legislative, executive, and judicial

narrow enough to address the concerns of the colonists. The Constitution is a written set of rules for

Disadvantages Of Low Quality
Everyone has had experiences of low quality when overseeing business affiliations. These experiences
may incorporate a bearer that has lost an explorer s stuff, clothing that has left articles of clothing
wrinkled or recolor, poor course offerings and arranging at your school, a got thing that is hurt or
broken, or a pizza movement advantage that is much of the time late or passes on the wrong demand.
The experience of low quality is exacerbated when specialists of the association either are not
empowered to right quality lacks or don t give off an impression of being willing to do in that
capacity. We have all accomplished organization specialists who don t seem to give a qualm. The
aftereffects of such an air are lost customers and open entryways for contenders to misuse the business

on business. In this manner various centered firms unendingly grow their quality benchmarks. Taking
the illustration, both the Ford Motor Company and the Honda Motor Company have starting late

Essay about Rollercoasters
Introduction:
You wait in line for what seems like forever and finally you take your seat. You pull the paddle bars so
they fit snug against your shoulders. You reach the top and then comes the big drop. You start
screaming or if you re daring you put your hands up and enjoy the ride. I m of course speaking of
roller coasters. Today I m going to go over the history, the different types of roller coasters, the
mechanics, and the most important part, safety of roller coasters.
History
The oldest roller coaster is believed to have originated from the so called Russian Mountains , which
were specially constructed hills of ice, located around Saint Petersburg. Built in the 15th century, the
slides were built to a height between 70 and 80 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Perhaps the best known historical roller coaster, The Cyclone, was opened at Coney Island in 1927.
The Great Depression marked the end of the first golden age of roller coasters, and amusement parks
in general went into deterioration.
In 1959 the Disneyland theme park introduced a new design breakthrough with the Matterhorn
Bobsleds. This was the first roller coaster to use a tubular steel track. Unlike conventional rails set on
wooden railroad ties, tubular steel can be bent in any direction, which allows designers to incorporate
loops, corkscrews, and many other maneuvers into their designs. Most modern roller coasters are
made of steel, although wooden coasters are still being built. New designs and technologies are
pushing the limits of what can be experienced on the newest coasters.
Mechanics:
The cars on a typical roller coaster are not self powered. A standard full circuit coaster is pulled up
with a chain or cable along the lift hill to the first peak of the coaster track. The potential energy
accumulated by the rise in height is transferred to kinetic energy as the cars race down the first
downward slope. Kinetic energy is then converted back into potential energy as the train moves up
again to the second peak. This hill is necessarily lower, as some mechanical energy is lost to friction.
Not all rides feature a lift hill, however. The train may be set into motion by

Richard, Wood And Hulme Llp
1. Introduction: The case study provides an incisive look at problems facing Richard, Wood and
Hulme LLP. The main problem addressed is the lack of cohesion in the team working for Spector
Industries. This is a major problem for the company for two reasons. First of all, Spector is an
important client. Secondly, team work has been a strategy for RWH since it began operation. Thus, a
lack of cohesion among team members affects the tight deadlines that the company has and team
morale is lowered due to the firing of two favourite senior employees. The report advises alternative
actions based on decision criteria s and alternative analysis matrix and provides key recommendations
to avoid such problems in future. It does not make any changes to the current process and proposes the
best alternative solutions which could resolve the current situation and avoid the same in future audits.
2. Problem Identification and Analysis This analysis outlines some of the reasons why the Spector
audit is unlikely to be completed by the due deadline. As in the prior year, the RWH team was given
two and a half weeks to complete the Spector audit in 2008. However, with only five days until the
deadline, less than 50% of the audit has been completed, and the team is unlikely to complete the audit
in the remaining time if they maintain their current slow pace, as they have done over the past week. It
was obvious that the 2008 Spector audit would require a greater degree of commitment and

primary performed surgeries and services in hernia repair. Shouldice s main objective is to take the
inconvenience of being diagnosed with a hernia and turn it into a quick and even enjoyable experience
for their patients. This is all possible through Shouldice s service delivery system, consisting of
selecting patients that do not hold an overly complicated hernia in order to perform a superior surgical
technique established by Dr. Shouldice. The patients endure an active stay to ensure a proper, speedy
recovery, and a quaint estate resembling a country club accompanied with a pleasant staff and

The Causation Of The Modern Slave Trade
There are endless reasons that human trafficking exists in modern times. These reasons are not black
and white, and have a multitude of contributing factors, cause and effect, and influences. The
causation of the modern slave trade is outlined in chapters three, four, and five of the text: Human
Trafficking: Interdisciplinary Perspectives, written by Mary C. Burke. Chapter three, titled,
Sociological Perspective: Underlying Causes relates sociology to the concept of human trafficking to
better understand the culture behind the slave trade, including political and economic characteristics. A
factor contributing to the existence of human trafficking is globalization and the development of
national economies. While globalization can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Globalization influences human trafficking as traffickers take advantage of new transparent borders,
broadband communication, and economic upheaval to prey on those most vulnerable ... people are
largely defined by their economic worth, and since the most vulnerable have only their bodies to sell

four defines population and migration as an explanation for human trafficking. As the world s
population increases dramatically, there are many poor and vulnerable individuals who are forced to

traffickers can exploit and from whom they can profit (Burke 2013). Victims are driven into human

Social Media And Its Impact On Society
For many of us, social media has become an important way to keep up with what is going on with our
families as well as what is happening in the world around us. In the past ten years, social media has
also become a major staple in marketing for businesses because there has been a whirlwind of
development. In 2006, Facebook was opened to the public and Twitter was launched. Not long after,
Facebook surpassed MySpace s user count and Barack Obama became out first Social Media
President. In 2010, Twitter launched the ability to post sponsored tweets, with Instagram following in
2013.
We often view social media as just a place to do social networking, but for businesses it is a much
different animal. Facebook became an avenue for new user engagement tactics by companies looking
to expand their customer base. (What We Learned About Marketing in the Last Decade of Social
Media Evolution , n.d) Marketing is key to any business s success. With the greater use of mobile
technology (cell phones and tablets), businesses had to be able to adapt their advertising to display on
mobile devices.
While anyone can use social media in relation to their business, there is a certain protocol that should
be followed. Businesses should not limit themselves to posting promotional content only. This can
lead to the downfall of their social media presence. Consumers want engagement that goes beyond
promotional information. Another important aspect of successful social media engagement is posting

United Airlines And Merger With Continental Airlines Essay
ABSTRACT
UAL Corp. s United Airlines announced merger with Continental Airlines Inc. on May 3, 2010 and
became the world s largest airline. This $3 billion merger between the two airline companies lifted the
beigest regulatory hurdle ever in the international aviation sector. In this paper, I will review through
the timeline that covers from the announcement of the merger to the completion with major milestones
noted and what role the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) was playing in this merger.
TIMELINE
June 2008: CEOs of both United Airlines and Continental Airlines signed and alliance pact. The
alliance is an agreement to link international networks and share technology and passenger perks. This
agreement is basically a virtual merger that includes many of the benefits of a merger without the
actual costs and restructuring involved. The alliance took effect about a year after Delta Air Lines and
Northwest Airlines completed their merger, as that released Continental from the SkyTeam contract
and allowed for the required nine month notice. Additionally, Continental joined the Star Alliance, as
Delta and Northwest merged.
April 2010: United Airlines was reported to be in serious merger discussion with US Airways.
May 2, 2010: The board of Directors at Continental and United Airlines approved a stock swap deal
that would combine them into the world s largest airline. Both airlines have taken losses in the
recession and expect the merger to generate savings of more than $1

lives from both an injury as well as a financial perspective. Given that vehicles are designed to
provide a smooth means of transportation, manufacturers have long been in the process of designing
the vehicles that are based on principles of efficiency, reliability and safety. However, due to reasons
such as human error, circumstantial error, poor vision and negligence, accidents occur. Today, special
attention is focused on the technologies that can reduce traffic collisions. Hence, Vehicle to Vehicle

Blue Man Group: Creativity, Life and Surviving an

Sometimes when we look at where Blue Man Group has gone; we just sort of scratch our heads. And
we think about how we started, basically just the three of us saying, Why don t we get bald and blue
and do stuff? Chris Wink, co founder with friends Matt Goldman and Phil Stanton
Monday evening on July 7, 2008, Chris, Matt and Phil were slumped around a conference table

They had begun a journey they never could have foretold, opening shows in Boston, Chicago,
Las Vegas, and Orlando; taking their theatrical show to audiences internationally; making albums and
staging rock concerts. An estimated 17 million people had enjoyed their shows by mid 2008, paying
$43 to $131 for the experience.4 Along the way, CMP became husbands and fathers, and launched an
educational venture called the Blue School that embodied their spirit of creativity and collaboration.5
And they loved it all.
Before They Were Blue
In 1987, Chris, Phil and Matt found themselves in their mid 20s, sharing an apartment in New
York City, each quite different but all in search of a creative outlet. Matt had once read that life was a
succession of hitting plateaus right when you needed to meet a person or form a relationship to move
to the next level. That was our experience, he said. Phil was the relative newcomer to the group;
Matt and Chris had a history that extended back to high school.
Matt was born into a fourth generation New York City family, his mother a writer and teacher, and his
father a documentary film maker. He attended public elementary school, which he described as a big
institution with no soul, 6 and then the Fieldston High School, a private institution. He recalled his
high school years:
I was lucky to get into Fieldston at all. My test scores were so so; I later found out I was borderline

Ronda Rousey Research Paper
Women s bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey, will defend her belt against Holly Holm in the
main event of UFC 195. Rousey made the announcement during her appearance on Good Morning
America on Friday. She also noted the date for the fight as January 2nd. In addition, it has been
confirmed that the showdown is going to take place in Las Vegas, Nevada at the MGM Grand Garden
Center. The fight is also the only one on the UFC 195 card thus far. The announcement shocked many
in the MMA community who thought the third installment of Ronda Rousey v. Meisha Tate was a
foregone conclusion. Rousey did say however that she considers Holm her best competition yet.
Beating Bethe Corriea improved Rousey s record as a professional record to 12 0 and 6 0, in her

Rousey is, however, taking a a different kind of opponent in Holm and it will be interesting to see how
she tackles this new challenge. Ronda will no doubt be the favorite, but this fight has a different
dynamic. Meanwhile, Holly Holm, a relative newcomer to the sport, began taking MMA fights in
2011 and wasn t even in the UFC until 2014. Holm posted an impressive boxing career before moving
her focus to MMA, with a record of 33 2 3 in the ring. She has an undefeated 9 0 record in MMA and
is just 2 0 in the UFC. Holm will hope to use her punches from her experience in boxing to keep
Rousey at bay long enough for her endurance to make an impact. At one point, Holm was seen as the
potential biggest threat to Ronda Rousey, because of her excellent striking abilities. However, after
failing to live up to that potential in her first two fights in the UFC, expectations have seen a steady

Against Reinstating the Military Draft Essay
Against Reinstating the Military Draft On July 1, 1973, Congress chose to end the draft in favor of an
All Volunteer Army. According to The Professional Bulletin of Army History, No. 27, the last man
was drafted in December 1972 and reported for training in June 1973. Now, not only might the
renewed military draft come back but also the age of compulsory service in the meat grinder might be
extended from its former limit of 26 years up to 42 years of age. As Ken Adachi, the editor of ?
Educate Yourself,? reports, a new draft will include BOTH men and women. While at various points

Post 9 11 military enlistment numbers spiked because individuals wanted to serve and protect our
recently attacked country and our way of life. If individuals are forced to participate in a military
campaign, the government will be relieved of one of the checks that help prevent them from engaging
in unpopular or unwarranted campaigns. Sure, the government makes us do all sorts of things: serve
on juries, pay taxes, have a driver?s license. When the government requires possession of a driver?s
license it is for our own security, to make sure that only those who are capable to drive are on the road.
When we are being asked to serve on jury, it is for our interest as well. As a society, we get to take a
part in a legal decision and make sure that justice is done in our country. Even the requirement to pay
taxes eventually is for our interest. The tax money helps the government to do things for us as a
society, such as financing culture events, helping elders and people in need. However, asking us to risk
our lives for something that not all citizens believe worth fighting for is not in our interest. People
should not be forced to enlist in the army, which is one reason why we should not reinstate the
military draft. In other words, since we live in a country based on freedom, the government should not
take away our right to decide if we want to fight or not. We should not be forced to fight a war. We
should not be forced into the meat grinder and possibly killed

Birth Order And Personality Essay
Researchers in science and psychology alike have pondered whether birth order has an impact on
personality traits. There has been evidence discovered in favor and against this theory. Francis Galton
and Alton Adler were two key men who spearheaded promotion of this theory. Through time, the idea
resonated within the science realm, and it was viewed as factual. Modern researchers however, wanted
more proof to substantiate these claims. What specific factors determine how birth order and
personality mix? With no solid answer readily available, the question remained, is there a link between
birth order and personality? And if so, what is that link? The truth is, there is no link between these
two factors. Birth order has a small impact on our ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He was a notable psychologist and was invited to events only those of an elevated social status could
attend. At one of these events he took note of the audience and how accomplished the people in
attendance were. He had knowledge that many of these elite people were first born children. He
decided then that there must be some type of correlation to success and being a first born child, which
he was as well. Psychologists who agreed with and supported Alder s views made their own
observations of middle and last born children and added on to his research. While there is likely truth
to their findings, they did not consider alternate reasons why these traits might be present, Older
children had the advantage of having their parents undivided attention until second child came along,
which could lead to higher intelligence. There also may have been limited funds for one child to attend

The Importance Of Early Childhood Special Education
In the last several centuries there have been many scholars and researchers who took it upon
themselves to discover child development and childhood education. These intellectuals formulated
ideas and theories based on their discoveries, and they each contributed to different elements in the
realm of early childhood special education; such as early childhood education, special education, or
compensatory education programs.
One such scholar, Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi is well known for initiating early childhood education as
a specific discipline. He believed that there was great value in education found through nature and
children s natural development and therefore he advocated in establishing activities in the classroom
that focused on what the students were interested in. Pestalozzi continued to enhance early childhood
education by contributing several different values. Pestalozzi thought that it was vital that education
should be in terms of the whole child. Additionally, he firmly believed that each parent should be
involved in his or her child s early education. One final opinion that he had was that there are
beneficial aspects to have a system of multiage groups where students can help younger children in
their academic studies.
When considering early childhood special education, childhood education and special education go
hand in hand . Just as in the establishment of early education, there are many contributors to special
education. Itard, Sequin, and Howe are

The Music Of The Digital Age
In today s digital age, the record industry is booming and in 2014 alone recorded music generated
almost 15 billion dollars, ( Global Recorded Music Sales Totalled US $15 billion in 2014. ) and now,
more than ever is the best time to capitalize on it. Due to the increased value of music and money that
is being brought in from such artists as Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, and Kanye West music is
becoming a money making game. There are many start up indie labels that are capitalizing on local
music scenes all around the world. By doing this they earn money, as well as promoting originality
and exposing music that should be heard by the masses. Because the DIY music scene is booming,
with places such as Brooklyn, LA, Philly and Austin all on the rise, now is a great time to promote,
record and expose tomorrow s future stars. For me and my label, Basement Tapes Records, I am going
to create a record label that is different than the rest. I will only sign and promote unknown artists who
have the potential to be great. I plan keeping everything in house that includes, production, promotion,
revenue, and having producers that only work for my label. By doing all of these things I feel as
though I can build Basement Tapes Records, to be a successful, money making, label. Originality and
the ability to be different are crucial in today s music world. By being different I am more likely to
attract more attention from people, other labels and most importantly, potential acts. Music

is 29.99%. I took my total balance of $1,786.00 x 29.99%= $463.00 is my total interest. So in about 7
total years 2322.00 x 463.00= 2785.00 total balance should be paid off. 5. The advice I can give
concerning the use of credit cards and the fees they charge would you provide to a young adult
planning on getting a credit card I would tell them that credit cards is good to have for emergencies
(ask ville2013). Most teens manage to get through those years without permanent damage. If they don
t, it is generally because of three things: addiction to tobacco, substance abuse or alcoholism and
misuse of credit cards (ask ville2013). In my conclusion many credit card companies are targeting the
consumers with not so good credit and offering their rates so high that it will take those years to pay
the balance off. Consumers should only use credit cards for emergency purposes only. Also consumers
should also think about paying off the interest off early as possible. For routine purchases you can use
a debit card, which draws money directly out of your checking account. When there is no more
money, the card stops working.

Student Misconduct
Why is it necessary for a university to establish a code of conduct? The University of Florida s answer
is in the following quote, The University of Florida is an institution which encourages the intellectual
and personal growth of its students as scholars and citizens. As an educational institution, the
University recognizes that the transmission of knowledge, the pursuit of truth, and the development of
individuals require the free exchange of ideas, self expression, and the challenging of beliefs and

That also means it has become even easier to discover when others are using someone else s work in
their documents and to verify whether they are properly citing where the source material came from. It
is a far less risky option to make the extra effort of giving credit where it is due. This activity is a
direct violation of the University Of Phoenix Code Of Conduct/Code of Academic Integrity. B. Martin
sums it up nicely in the Journal of Information Ethics: plagiarism is much more common among both
students and scholars than usually recognized and it is a serious offense against scholarships and
should be condemned and penalized.
How do you catch a cheating student participating in an online environment? As defined in the
University of Phoenix 2007 2008 Online Master Catalog, cheating is using or attempting to use
unauthorized materials, information, or study aids in any academic exercise (University). However,
without physically interfacing with the student, how does a teacher ensure a student is turning in
assignments that are homegrown within the mind of the writer? With the advent of the internet,
information is rampant and often unchecked for credibility. In the same instance, it is a Mecca of
information potentially influencing the personal education of billions. Coupling the internet with an
online academic environment, there is a potential for cheating. Students are less likely to cheat if they

current asset and how changes would inter act to affect profits and EVA. Base on the data, does SKI
seem to be following a relaxed, moderate, or restricted working capital policy? A company with a
relaxed working capital policy would carry relatively large amounts of current assets in relation to
their sales. It would be guarding against running out of stock or of running short of cash, or losing
sales because of a restrictive credit policy. Working capital policy is reflected in a firm s current ratio,

The only thing on cash budgets should be cash payments and receipts. However, depreciation does
affect taxes, which do appear in the cash budget. In his preliminary cash budget, Barnes has assumed
that all sales are collected and, thus, that SKI has no bad debts. Is this realistic? If not, how would bad
debts be dealt with in a cash budgeting sense? (Hint: Bad debts will affect collections but not
purchases.) No, it is not realistic to assume zero bad debts. In almost all situations there are bad debts.
When credit is granted, bad debts should be expected. Collections in each month would be lowered by
the percentage of bad debts. Payments would be unchanged, so the result would be that loan balances
would be larger and cash surplus balances would be smaller by the difference in the collection
amounts. Barnes cash budget for the entire year, although not given here, is based heavily on his
forecast for monthly sales. Sales are expected to be extremely low between May and September but
then increase dramatically in the fall and winter. November is typically the firm s best month, when
SKI ships equipment to retailers for the holiday season. Interestingly, Barnes forecasted cash budget
indicates that the company s cash holdings will exceed the targeted cash balance every month except
for October and November, when shipments will be high but collections will not be coming in until
later. Based on the ratios in Table IC 15 1,

homeland. My father has explained to me the reasons we deserve independence from God, the King,

It was the Tea Act. This act stated that only the British East India Company could sell or transport tea.
Members of parliament passed this act because many of them had stakes in the company. At the time
the British India Company was going bankrupt. This act threatened all colonial businesses by creating
a monopoly. In Boston, the colonists devised a plan to resist this act. Several colonists dressed as
Indians to deceive the British. These colonists seized the imported tea and dumped it into the harbor.
The colonists dubbed this the tea party. The British responded to these actions by creating four acts
jointly called the Coercive Acts. These acts closed the Boston ports to all trade, increased power of
Massachusetts governor, granted trials of royal officials in Massachusetts be tried elsewhere, and
allowed the new governor rights to quarter his troops anywhere. These Coercive Acts only angered the
colonists more. They have strengthened their non importation of British goods. They have also begun
the forming of local militia companies.
There have been many battles lately. The battle at Lexigon and Concord is one of first significance.
British General Gage was ordered to arrest the leaders of resistance. Through reconnaissance General
Gage was informed the city of Concord was storing arms and ammunition in a barn in preparations of

`` All Sex, All The Time `` By Theodore Dalrymple
Theodore Dalrymple, in the essay All Sex, All the Time reflects on the change of view of the people
about sex and how it has lead people into more confusion and conflict than before. Dalrymple s real
name being Anthony Daniels, he picked up the pseudonym of Theodore Dalrymple for the purpose of
his essays. There were times when virginity was a pride to men and women. However, it still prevails
in some countries, this custom and the people have been changing. He states that the world is now free
to enjoy sexual pleasures without any fear of the myths and taboos that existed in history. Although
people feel that they are satisfied and are free to choose this path of life, sex has lead people into
confusion, contradiction, and conflict states Dalrymple (Dalrymple 1). Dalrymple takes the chance of
stating how the world will be, in about a hundred years. He thinks that twelve year girls would be in
the streets at night, as prostitutes, where police would be guarding them and health authorities would
come by to distribute condoms to prevent any infections. Then, the common people would be given
instruments to get rid of the condoms in their backyard and gardens. The reason behind this is that
morals are dying; over the years, people have become non judgmental. People feel that being non
judgmental is staying away from people s wishes and letting them do what they like, in their own
ways. Being non judgmental, in this case affects those young girls, the public, the environment

Better Online Ticket Sale Act Case Analysis
The Better Online Ticket Sale Act will prohibit the usage of computer softwares to purchase large
amounts of tickets and reselling them at a higher price, claiming the ticket scalping is unfair. If I was a
member of congress, I would have supported this act because using softwares to buy and resell tickets
drives up the price for the buyers, who had less chance of purchasing it competing with the software at
the original price. Aristotle would have also been supportive of this act, who believe retail trade and
money making are unnatural ways of attaining wealth. Moreover, John Ruskin would make similar
decision, due to his concern with the way we obtain wealth, and inequality in the economy. However,
Andrew Carnegie would have thought ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, in this case, the consumers are getting poorer in response to the ticket scalpers earning a profit.
In his article, he wrote about two examples about events that happens in life, and ways of pursuing
money that can leads to inequality. Also arguing that inequality of wealth distribution will leads to less
accumulative production, because those who are wealthier will choose not to work not because they
are incapable, but they have the ability to fulfill their needs by paying the others. In this case, the
consumers who purchase the tickets are working hard to be able to pay for them at a much higher
price, while the ticket scalpers are earning a huge profit, which will lead them to work less, therefore,
the community will have a lower total output.
Some will also argue against Better Online Ticket Sales Act, claiming that its benefits to the economy
outweighs the negative effects. Andrew Carnegie, one of the most wealthy man in U.S. history, takes a
different standpoint than Aristotle and Ruskin. Carnegie believe the distribution of wealth is important
in an economy, and the wealthier are more capable of handling money. The way of obtaining wealth is
not so important as compared to the way of spending it, Carnegie believe the rich have the
responsibility of improving the society, and they should allow their wealth to flow back into the
society. He then would argue the ticket scalpers are

The Middle East And West Perceive Each Other
How the Middle East and West Perceive each other
Followed by a year of continuous terror attacks by ISIS, riots over cartoon portrayals of the Prophet
PBUH, and the ongoing war in Iraq and Afghanistan, many Muslims and Westerners know that they
have developed bad relations these days. The media continuously portrays the Middle East as nation
filled with terrorist whilst the West are portrayed as the nation that is trying to make peace. There have
been so many misconceptions that have made both cultures create a barrier between them because of
how both cultures are portrayed through the media.
Many in the West, view Muslims as fanatical, violent and as lacking tolerance. Muslims in the Middle
East and Asia have the same feelings towards the west as they view them as violent and extremist but
also selfish, immoral and greedy.
How America Perceives Muslims and the Middle East
Islamophobia existed in America before the terrorist attacks of September 11 2001, but it was not as
harsh as it was back then, but it did increase after the terror attacks and with the media adding more
misconceptions (Sinlak, n.d.). Some of the perceptions that most Americans had of the Middle East
was that they were rich with oil, lived a lavish life and consisted of deserts. They did not have the idea
of the Middle East being a terrorist region where there was always war. However, after 9/11 the
negative views started to increase, and Muslims and the Middle East were viewed very negatively.

Changing The Face By Mark Pfeifle
In Mark Pfeifle s article Changing the Face(book) of Social Activism, the definition of the term
slacktivism is introduced with the words of the Urban Dictionary which defines it as an idea that
belong to people who want to look like they are taking action to support a cause when they mostly do
nothing. Despite the dictionary s meaning of the term, Pfeifle concludes that slacktivism has
completely changed social activism because people all over the world now have the ability to create
impacting and beneficial reforms on society. He argues that social media is more powerful than ever,
and the way people play a role in politics has changed because of it. Pfeifle gives an example of the
power that social media has when he points out that the Democrats regained power through the use of
social media during Obama s run for presidency. He states that social media can form political groups
with greater masses of people while reducing the expenses as well as the difficulty of organizing one
anywhere in the world from Cairo to Zuccotti Park. He also supported his conclusion with the
example of Kony, a cruel guerilla leader whose brutality was exposed to the world with the help of
slacktivists. Keeping all these events in mind with the contribution of social media, Pfeifle sees the
totality in the positive change of social activism from slacktivism. Pfeifle is right about slacktivism

Eliyahu M. Goldratt s The Goal
Alex Rogo in the novel The Goal, by Eliyahu M. Goldratt faces many issues when trying to save his
failing plant. He has three months to turn the failing plant around. Rogo is on the verge of losing his
job for having an unproductive plant. He is constantly dealing with emergencies at the plant because
has a large backlog of customer orders, long lead times, angry customers and significant amounts of
work in process inventory sitting around the plant. He has very expensive, up to date, supposedly
extremely productive robots on his factory floor but something is not working correctly or the plant
would not be failing like it is. Rogo wants and needs to improve his plant productivity. Rogo
consultants with an old friend Jonah and ultimately ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Rogo sells an item from inventory, he is selling an asset, which was valued at full cost. The
plant increased the production of the bottlenecks and shipped 3 million dollars in orders during the
second month. Labor costs were then unchanged, so labor, depreciation, and utility costs should
remain constant. Bill Peach then told Rogo to increase these profits by 15%, which means to keep the
plant open, he would need additional money. Rogo figured out the correct pricing so if material costs
were 344 dollars per unit, and a 1,000 dollar sales price, an additional 208 units would be sufficient to
reach the target and the factory would ultimately stay open and he would not lose his job and hundreds
of workers would not be out of work

The Meaning of Friendship
Student Name Instructor Name Course Name Date Meaning of Friendship The term friendship is
perhaps the most common term in the conversation of every individual, but there would be hardly few
individuals who have ever tried to think how and under what circumstances this term was originated.
Similarly, people seldom think about the meaning of this commonly used term. It is really difficult to
find somebody who can define what a real friend is. These facts make friendship an excessively
vibrant relationship and perhaps it is its most valuable beauty. Sometimes it happens that even a small
thing tends to destroy friendship and at times even a small thing can help friends get closer to each
other. Ginigrey reports that many times it happens that friends, like angels, enter the lives of
individuals at a time when they are needed the most. They come in at a time of great difficulty to help,
provide moral support, but as soon as the difficult situation comes to an end they tend to fade leaving
space for some new friend to come in (1). It doesn t matter for how long the friend stays in the lives of
an individual, rather what matters the most is the coziness, pleasure, sustenance and camaraderie that
friend has provided. Even though the term friend is spoken differently in many languages, every
language connotes this priceless liaison in a similar manner and that also in a positive way. For
instance, in French it is termed as amigo, in Danish it is called as ven. However,

Higher Skill For The Next Level
Higher Skill for The Next Level
Looking at my background as a student from Indonesia writing and knowing that English is not my
first language makes me unconfident about myself, and I had a problem mainly in structuring my
sentence and grammar. When I first came to De Anza I did not have any confidence about my writing,
and after I took the placement test I was placed in EWRT 211 and I took it this summer. The first day I
came to the class, I felt so frightened that I could not do well in the essays and could not catch up with
other students because of the fast pace in summer session. However, after I took EWRT 211 with Prof.
Mary Diehl and as I wrote couple of essays I become more confident about myself as a writer. After
working in each essay I got assigned on, and learning about how to be a better writer, and I am feeling
positive and very confident going to EWRT 1A.
In my first out of class essay What is So Important About Appearance? , I learned many new skills
that I ve never learned before. The most helpful thing that I learned from this essay is about comma
splices. Before knowing what a comma splice is I made silly mistakes such as forgetting to use the
FANBOYS (for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so). For example most people do not really care about what we
are wearing, maybe some people do care . In this sentence I should use one of the FANBOYS and
after the comma. However, after doing some reading and rewrites now I have the ability to avoid
comma splices. For

The Importance Of Religious Holiday Observances In Schools
A religious holiday observance can be defined as: a worship service or ceremony of any kind,
religious holiday exhibits/displays, the enactment of a religious drama, wearing religious items, and
even the presentation of religious music and singing religious holiday hymns. Despite these guidelines
and intentions of administration, sectarian holiday observances during Christmas and Easter still tend
to take place in schools across the country. There can be multiple causes for this though. First of all,
many teachers may not know or understand the court decisions and how to apply them within their
classrooms. Clearly by these laws, you should not display religious symbols like the cross, however,
few people are aware of the fact that courts are also concerned with the timing, context, and grade
levels that are involved in these classroom programs. For example, if there is a grade wide holiday
music production that has a Christmas hymn, they might get questions like What song will be sung?
Where will it take place? What is the purpose of this within the curriculum? And what effect will
singing them have on the students as well as the audience? As an educator I have not really thought
about Christmas music as a whole in the classroom. I m sure that a music teacher is more aware of it,
but as a general teacher I wouldn t have even thought about playing Christmas music in the classroom
as being a controversial thing until now. That leads me into my next point that teachers may

The Ethics Of Discourse Communities
Discourse communities are groups of people who share similar values, goals, and ways of
communication. Although it is more of a broad definition, to me discourse communities can be more
simplified. My definition: sharing the same experiences, individual passion, and journey as your
destined group. Even though high school is bygone, the Langston Hughes Volleyball Team is still
considered my discourse community. Not to be biased but we are the best. Performing rigorous
activities such as sports requirements, voting for captains, and being in the volleyball section of the
yearbook considers me as one with the team. Every sports team required members to have yearly
physicals, and either fundraise or pay for the team gear. With volleyball you are also required to
participate in summer conditioning. Failure to attend? Chances are you are not playing the fall season.
Summertime was considered two months of work and labor versus fun and games others experience.
Conditioning consist of brutal Abs work, leg tightening, and running multiple miles to whip us into
shape. After workouts, if you failed to burn from the inside out or collapse from exhaustion something
is wrong with you. Around school our rep was traveling up a steep hill composed of one hundred
eighty pounds of concrete and the length of more than half a football field. It was called The Bank . It
was our punishment, our enemy, and our worst nightmare. No matter if it was pouring, hailing, or
scorching hot, it always

Strategic Analysis of Bank Industry
Banking Industry
Strategic Management
2012
3/27/2012
Executive Summary
Banking Industry is the chief indicator of the growth of any country s economy. India with its huge
populations presents a huge scope for banking industry. State Bank of India is a public sector unit and
enjoys the market leader position. HDFC is catching up on the back of its exquisite growth in last
decade. And with the relaxation of government control, private players are in a much better position to
compete. But both the banks have their own problems
SBI has to undertake several government duties which lead to huge labour and high number of non
performing assets. HDFC

Now coming down to specifics, why do we say that the Indian Banking Industry is probably in one of
those interesting times that probably it has never or will never see again? We say so because
competition inadvertently brings out the best in all possible aspects and circumstances. And the
competition that is being unleashed today has never been seen in the past, at least in the Indian
Banking Industry. Now that the Indian Public Sector Banks don t feel the need to hold on to
government s crutches, the sector is slowly but steadily attracting competition. As if the entry of new
and energetic private sector banks was not enough, even the multinational banks are leaving no stone
unturned to ride the Indian growth bandwagon.
In this context, we present the in depth analysis of two banks that best represent the multitude of banks
operating in the Indian banking landscape. The first one is a market leader and it has raised many
eyebrows by slowly transforming itself from a license raj public sector bank to a competitive
behemoth with a social footprint. Yes, there can be adjectives galore for the State Bank of India, for
the sheer grit it has shown in its transformation.
The other bank in our spotlight is the Housing Development Finance Corporation Bank. Under the
tutelage of a true visionary and a banking sector veteran, the HDFC Bank has raised the bar for one

Critical Analysis Of Their Eyes Were Watching God Brian Sandoval 11/11/17 Mr. Amoroso AP Literature Their Eyes Were Watching God LAP Topic 4 To find the elusive and coveted treasure of love, a dauntless expedition is untaken into life s catacombs, scouring through the tunnels and evading the traps that lurk in the shadowy corners. This journey can t be completed without sorrow and suffering yet the marring of the soul from the journey can break a person s resolve, ultimately believing that the treasure they once sought was merely a fable. Due to being caught in the trap of despair and hopelessness, survivors mold a chitin from the pain endured in order to shield themselves from additional pain, often reluctant to peer their head out of their protective ward. At the same time, by hiding in the confines of a cocoon, they are unable to view the opportunity and take the plunge once more that may finally reward their sacrifice. Janie May Crawford, the protagonist of Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston, in her youth and inexperience goes through many trials and tribulations in the search of love and what it truly is. Janie paints a beautiful and naïve image of love as her dreams and hopes blind her from reality. The experience garnered from her relationships with her three spouses, the illusion of her youth is swept, remolding her painting into its true form. Janie, a young woman, began to dwell on thoughts of love and marriage as these new curiosities blossomed within her and spent her free ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For some, culture is the main factor due to religion and other cultural beliefs and upbringings. With these beliefs, we tend to not explore and experience things in our life because we want to remain close to our culture and live the safe and secure life to reach Heaven or the higher place afterlife. This is a form of social institution . A social institution is defined as a collection of individuals banded together in pursuit of a common purpose. A social institution s common purposes include granting its members certain rights and privileges. (2006) test a pairs trading strategy over 1962 to 2002 and provide valuable insights into the development of the risk and return characteristics over time. It is perhaps the most cited paper on pairs trading and uses distance method. They form pairs over a twelve month period based on minimizing the squared deviations between normalized price series of the two securities. They back test a simple trading algorithm with daily data in the period 1962 2002 using S P 500 constituents and find average annualised returns of up to 11% for portfolios of pairs. Although the proposed strategy is profitable the authors note that returns have declined in recent years, possible due to increased competition among hedge funds and/or a reduction in the importance of an underlying common factor that drives the returns in a pairs trading strategy. A thorough analysis of the risk characteristics shows that returns have a high risk adjusted alpha and an insignificant exposure to sources of systematic risk. ... • 9. Relationship Between Architecture And The Human Body The Relationship between Architecture and the Human Body Introduction The human body is the ultimate tool for discovering the environment. Human anatomy is considered to be nature s peak of perfection and certain features serve as inspiration for many architects. To study the relationship between the human body and architecture, one must not be limited to human body parts resemblance to architectural works but to a larger extent consider human emotions, sensory nerves, the mind and general human psychology. In essence everything that makes us human. In its simplest definition Architecture can be described as an art or practice of designing buildings. It is practiced in a way that accomplishes both practical and communicative or expressive requirements. To relate it to human body then Architecture can widely define the place, the site, the energy, the systems, the building, the flora and fauna. These components that bring aesthetic property to humanity apart from the utilitarian purpose it serves. The perfect balance of a normal human body and the proportions are incorporated into architecture from a point of view of imitation, idealized allusion and the actual human use. • 10. Literary Analysis Of The Turn Of The Screw Gothic horror has been an interest to many people for centuries. It first peaked around the 1790 s. It is a stylistic genre of horror that uses a set of characteristics to cause a sense of fear in the audience or readers. The Turn of the Screw, by Henry James, who also wrote his story in 1898 during the Victorian area, uses gothic horror conventions to reflect the complexity of the human psyche which, leaves the audience with a sense of ambiguity, or fear of the unknown. The Turn of the Screw is a great short story that uses rhetorical and literary devices to express a ghost story. The story involves a governess who becomes obsessed with the idea of trying to prove that there are ghosts in the household, while also trying to do her job of protecting the children. She often encounters two ghosts that she believes are trying to corrupt her pupils, and are also communicating with them without her knowing. Henry James uses his story to invoke the fears of the Victorian era; fears of which include the corruption of children, potential evil, and the reliability of a governess in a household. In our world, people are often asking themselves if they can ever trust having someone entering their home. In The Turn of the Screw, Henry James uses the fear of reliability to trigger the audience s fear of trusting someone into their home. For example, in his short story, the governess questions what happened to the previous governess. Mrs. Grose then proceeds to state, The last governess? She was also young and pretty almost as young and almost as pretty, Miss, even as you, (James 130). Mrs. Grose implies that there was an affair and because of it, the previous governess is no longer there. It can later be seen that Mrs. Grose is suggesting that the current governess may cause trouble and end up being in the same position as the previous governess; especially when Mrs. Grose says, ...almost as young and almost as pretty, Miss, even as you, (James 130). The audience then becomes fearful and more cautious of their choices because they wouldn t want this situation to occur to them. • 11. Explain Why The Period Of Home Rule Is Significant In The... 1. Explain why the period of Home Rule is significant in the context of both colonial identity and self governance: Home rule is defined as the government of a colony, dependent country, or region by its own citizens. This definition explains that the colonists felt like they were left to rule their own government while trying to separate from British ruling. Home Rule was significant in colonial identity because the colonists were able to develop their own identity away from the British which made them a stronger force to be reckoned with. The colonists used their newfound identity when they finally declared independence from the British to establish the basis of the United States of America. While the colonists were establishing their own identities, they were also gaining useful experience in self governance, which proved to be useful with their declaration of independence from the British. The colonists learned how to handle local issues through self governance and were able to successfully remove themselves from Parliament and run their own democracy. I believe with their experience in self governance, the colonists learned what worked best for their needs and what didn t help them at all, eventually putting that knowledge into effect in their ... The Great Depression marked the end of the first golden age of roller coasters, and amusement parks in general went into deterioration. In 1959 the Disneyland theme park introduced a new design breakthrough with the Matterhorn Bobsleds. This was the first roller coaster to use a tubular steel track. Unlike conventional rails set on wooden railroad ties, tubular steel can be bent in any direction, which allows designers to incorporate loops, corkscrews, and many other maneuvers into their designs. Most modern roller coasters are made of steel, although wooden coasters are still being built. New designs and technologies are pushing the limits of what can be experienced on the newest coasters. Mechanics: The cars on a typical roller coaster are not self powered. A standard full circuit coaster is pulled up with a chain or cable along the lift hill to the first peak of the coaster track. The potential energy accumulated by the rise in height is transferred to kinetic energy as the cars race down the first downward slope. Kinetic energy is then converted back into potential energy as the train moves up again to the second peak. This hill is necessarily lower, as some mechanical energy is lost to friction. The main problem addressed is the lack of cohesion in the team working for Spector Industries. This is a major problem for the company for two reasons. First of all, Spector is an important client. Secondly, team work has been a strategy for RWH since it began operation. Thus, a lack of cohesion among team members affects the tight deadlines that the company has and team morale is lowered due to the firing of two favourite senior employees. The report advises alternative actions based on decision criteria s and alternative analysis matrix and provides key recommendations to avoid such problems in future. It does not make any changes to the current process and proposes the best alternative solutions which could resolve the current situation and avoid the same in future audits. 2. Problem Identification and Analysis This analysis outlines some of the reasons why the Spector audit is unlikely to be completed by the due deadline. As in the prior year, the RWH team was given two and a half weeks to complete the Spector audit in 2008. However, with only five days until the deadline, less than 50% of the audit has been completed, and the team is unlikely to complete the audit in the remaining time if they maintain their current slow pace, as they have done over the past week. He believed that there was great value in education found through nature and children s natural development and therefore he advocated in establishing activities in the classroom that focused on what the students were interested in. Pestalozzi continued to enhance early childhood education by contributing several different values. Pestalozzi thought that it was vital that education should be in terms of the whole child. Additionally, he firmly believed that each parent should be involved in his or her child s early education. One final opinion that he had was that there are beneficial aspects to have a system of multiage groups where students can help younger children in their academic studies. When considering early childhood special education, childhood education and special education go hand in hand . The advice I can give concerning the use of credit cards and the fees they charge would you provide to a young adult planning on getting a credit card I would tell them that credit cards is good to have for emergencies (ask ville2013). Most teens manage to get through those years without permanent damage. If they don t, it is generally because of three things: addiction to tobacco, substance abuse or alcoholism and misuse of credit cards (ask ville2013). In my conclusion many credit card companies are targeting the consumers with not so good credit and offering their rates so high that it will take those years to pay the balance off. Consumers should only use credit cards for emergency purposes only. Also consumers should also think about paying off the interest off early as possible. For routine purchases you can use a debit card, which draws money directly out of your checking account. When there is no more money, the card stops working. References: ... In his preliminary cash budget, Barnes has assumed that all sales are collected and, thus, that SKI has no bad debts. Is this realistic? If not, how would bad debts be dealt with in a cash budgeting sense? (Hint: Bad debts will affect collections but not purchases.) No, it is not realistic to assume zero bad debts. In almost all situations there are bad debts. When credit is granted, bad debts should be expected. Collections in each month would be lowered by the percentage of bad debts. Payments would be unchanged, so the result would be that loan balances would be larger and cash surplus balances would be smaller by the difference in the collection amounts. This act stated that only the British East India Company could sell or transport tea. Members of parliament passed this act because many of them had stakes in the company. Several colonists dressed as Indians to deceive the British. These colonists seized the imported tea and dumped it into the harbor. The colonists dubbed this the tea party. The British responded to these actions by creating four acts jointly called the Coercive Acts. These acts closed the Boston ports to all trade, increased power of Massachusetts governor, granted trials of royal officials in Massachusetts be tried elsewhere, and allowed the new governor rights to quarter his troops anywhere. These Coercive Acts only angered the colonists more. They have strengthened their non importation of British goods. They have also begun the forming of local militia companies. • 36. `` All Sex, All The Time `` By Theodore Dalrymple Theodore Dalrymple, in the essay All Sex, All the Time reflects on the change of view of the people about sex and how it has lead people into more confusion and conflict than before. Dalrymple s real name being Anthony Daniels, he picked up the pseudonym of Theodore Dalrymple for the purpose of his essays. There were times when virginity was a pride to men and women. However, it still prevails in some countries, this custom and the people have been changing. He states that the world is now free to enjoy sexual pleasures without any fear of the myths and taboos that existed in history. Although people feel that they are satisfied and are free to choose this path of life, sex has lead people into confusion, contradiction, and conflict states Dalrymple (Dalrymple 1). Dalrymple takes the chance of stating how the world will be, in about a hundred years. He thinks that twelve year girls would be in the streets at night, as prostitutes, where police would be guarding them and health authorities would come by to distribute condoms to prevent any infections. Then, the common people would be given instruments to get rid of the condoms in their backyard and gardens. The reason behind this is that morals are dying; over the years, people have become non judgmental. People feel that being non judgmental is staying away from people s wishes and letting them do what they like, in their own ways. Being non judgmental, in this case affects those young girls, the public, the environment ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Despite the dictionary s meaning of the term, Pfeifle concludes that slacktivism has completely changed social activism because people all over the world now have the ability to create impacting and beneficial reforms on society. He argues that social media is more powerful than ever, and the way people play a role in politics has changed because of it. Pfeifle gives an example of the power that social media has when he points out that the Democrats regained power through the use of social media during Obama s run for presidency. He states that social media can form political groups with greater masses of people while reducing the expenses as well as the difficulty of organizing one anywhere in the world from Cairo to Zuccotti Park. He also supported his conclusion with the example of Kony, a cruel guerilla leader whose brutality was exposed to the world with the help of slacktivists. The Meaning of Friendship Student Name Instructor Name Course Name Date Meaning of Friendship The term friendship is perhaps the most common term in the conversation of every individual, but there would be hardly few individuals who have ever tried to think how and under what circumstances this term was originated. Similarly, people seldom think about the meaning of this commonly used term. It is really difficult to find somebody who can define what a real friend is. These facts make friendship an excessively vibrant relationship and perhaps it is its most valuable beauty. Sometimes it happens that even a small thing tends to destroy friendship and at times even a small thing can help friends get closer to each other. Ginigrey reports that many times it happens that friends, like angels, enter the lives of individuals at a time when they are needed the most. They come in at a time of great difficulty to help, provide moral support, but as soon as the difficult situation comes to an end they tend to fade leaving space for some new friend to come in (1). It doesn t matter for how long the friend stays in the lives of an individual, rather what matters the most is the coziness, pleasure, sustenance and camaraderie that friend has provided. Even though the term friend is spoken differently in many languages, every language connotes this priceless liaison in a similar manner and that also in a positive way. The Importance Of Religious Holiday Observances In Schools A religious holiday observance can be defined as: a worship service or ceremony of any kind, religious holiday exhibits/displays, the enactment of a religious drama, wearing religious items, and even the presentation of religious music and singing religious holiday hymns. Despite these guidelines and intentions of administration, sectarian holiday observances during Christmas and Easter still tend to take place in schools across the country. There can be multiple causes for this though. First of all, many teachers may not know or understand the court decisions and how to apply them within their classrooms. Clearly by these laws, you should not display religious symbols like the cross, however, few people are aware of the fact that courts are also concerned with the timing, context, and grade levels that are involved in these classroom programs. For example, if there is a grade wide holiday music production that has a Christmas hymn, they might get questions like What song will be sung? Where will it take place? What is the purpose of this within the curriculum? And what effect will singing them have on the students as well as the audience? As an educator I have not really thought about Christmas music as a whole in the classroom.
