Behaviorism And The Operant Conditioning Theory Essay
It is a fact that people learn differently. Some people learn by seeing, some by hearing, some by doing,
and then others learn from a combination of these. For many decades psychologists, theorists, and
scientists have all sought to prove to their peers, society and the world that not only do people learn
differently but children and adult learning differ also. Learning theories are conceptualized
frameworks which describe how individuals absorb, process and retain information. Behaviorists such
as John B. Watson, B.F. Skinner, Edward L. Thorndike, Ivan Pavlov and Edwin R. Guthrie believed
that all learners were passive in nature and only responded to external stimuli. Behaviorism, as
explored by the before mentioned, is a biological basis of learning and focuses exclusively on
observable behaviors. This includes Thorndike s theory of connectionism, Pavlov s classical
conditioning and the well known conditioning theory from Skinner the operant conditioning model.
However, many researchers did not like the one size fits all explanation of behaviorism. Cognitivism
grew in response to behaviorism in an effort to better understand the mental processes behind learning.
This challenged behaviorism with the idea that learning is the process of connecting symbols in a
meaningful way; thus all knowledge is stored cognitively as symbols. Still, cognitivism didn t account
for individuality and the input output model was seen as very mechanic. The social cognitive theory
was developed

The Theory Of An Organization
Organizations are groups of people working together to achieve a common goal. The organizations
theories correlate together in order for organizations to sustain functionality. In all organizations there
is a common unit of power that directs the organization toward a common goal. Within the
Department of Health and Human Resources, the source of power is the commissioner, and the
direction of the department is to have zero child fatalities and maintain safety of children.
The classical model focuses on the structure of the organization. The decision making starts at the top,
with the person in power and trickles down to the employees in the organizations. Hence, the person
in power has the authority and decision making capability. This is also known as bureaucracy, which
occurs within a government institution such as; when meetings occur, the commissioner will make the
final decisions about goals and how to implement those goals. All organizations recognize that
decisions have to be made. The decision theory is similar to the classical model in how decisions are
made and who makes the decisions. The person in power makes the decision, and the ultimate
outcome is to achieve a common goal. Decisions are made on rationale when possible, but achieving a
perfect goal is not the ultimate goal. When conflict occurs it is embraced, and organization work to
accommodate or even coerce members to achieve common goals. Human relations theory is derived

Essay about Intersect Investments
Gap Analysis: Intersect Investments
Situation Analysis
Issue and Opportunity Identification
Intersect Investment has been in the financial services industry since September 11, 2001. A year ago,
Intersect CEO Frank Jeffers identified a new vision. The problem with this is that implementing this
vision will require revolutionary organizational change, particularly in sales. Frank has already replace
the EVP because he did not support the new philosophy Frank was leading his organization in and
expects that his new EVP will get associates on board with his new vision. The issue is there is a lot of
push back not only from employees but several of the important players. If some of the main
stakeholders don t jump on board quickly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Intersect must create an environment where their associates feel comfortable giving feedback on ideas
and initiatives that are potentially in the works or being implemented. Your associates are going to be
carrying out the vision so Intersect must create an environment that they feel safe delivering their
opinions.
Secondly, Intersect needs to develop a reward and recognition program that will pay for performance.
This will give the employees an additional reason to excel in the job they are to complete. The
employees will begin to associate excellence with reward and although they are already getting paid
for a job well done, employees tend to go the extra mile when they know there is a prize attached to
the task. There is also a vision for Intersect to create an extensive line of communication amongst the
employees that will provide feedback to them in a timely fashion on their sales initiatives as well as
the interactions they have with customers whether good or bad. Associates deserve to receive feedback
from their managers, this will assist each associates as they begin the journey to becoming close,
trusted advisors with each of the customers.
Moreover, what is clear within this scenario is the relationship that the Senior Leadership team has
with one another. One thing is clear is the Leadership team is divided. All Leadership team members

Essay on Origins of Popular Sayings
English is an amazing language that reflects many different cultures. Americans have many popular
sayings and figures of speech that, if taken literally, make no logical sense. If you mention the phrases
white elephant, spill the beans, or to pull someone s leg, they make no sense unless you are familiar
with the culture.
The word idiom is used to describe these forms of speech. Idioms are considered to be part of a nation
s culture, and idioms can make learning a foreign language quite challenging. Scholars have estimated
American English to contain at least 25,000 idiomatic expressions. People learning a new language
must memorize the meanings of these phrases like vocabulary, because the interpretations of idioms
can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The origin of this popular saying will make you smile.
In the early 1700 s an English dramatist named John Dennis created an invention that would simulate
the sound of thunder in one of his theatrical productions. His play failed dismally. However, later he
found that his invention was used to create the sound of thunder in another performance. Dennis was
quoted as saying, They will not let my play run, but they steal my thunder! The phrase was overheard,
passed along and became a popular saying used in the English language.
To Spill the Beans
When someone spills the beans, they reveal a secret unintentionally. This popular saying has its origin
back in the days of ancient Greece.
When people were voted into many organizations, the membership voted secretly using colored beans
as counters. If one voted for the inclusion of the applicant, one would discretely drop a white bean into
an opaque container. If one voted against the applicant, one would secretly drop a black or brown bean
in the container. Only the officials knew the results of the voting.
Occasionally, an awkward person might accidentally knock over the container, spilling the beans and
revealing the results of the vote before the appointed time. This is how the phrase spilling the beans
has come to describe someone telling a secret.

Setting Clear Boundaries in the Social Work Field
Setting Clear Boundaries In Social Work Many individuals opt for the field of social work so that
others may grow and improve their way of life and have a stable living style. However, while
providing this sort of help to the clients, it is important that social workers are aware of their ethical
boundaries and have communicated this to their clients as well. Setting and maintain clear boundaries
is a very important part of every profession. As far as social work is concerned where the worker
directly influences the lives of his clients, this practice becomes more important as it has a direct
impact on ones professional integrity. Where we see number of complaints filed against the social
workers for breach of ethical boundaries, it is important to understand what these limitations are and
how to adhere to them. In order to understand the concept of setting clear boundaries, let s have a look
at what Dietz and Thompson said about it. As per them, The concern about appropriate boundaries is,
at least in part, a concern about the effects of the power differential between client and professional. It
is primarily a concern about boundary violations (Dietz and Thompson, 2004, p. 2). In addition to it, it
is important to realize that boundaries provide us safer connections based on the needs of clients we
are dealing with (Peterson, 1992, p. 74). Now that we are aware of what boundaries really are, it is
also vitally significant about what constitutes a breach and how

China s Contributions To America
China, the second leading exporter in the world, is known for their immense role in the United States
economy. Without China s contribution to the U.S. economy, the United States would suffers
tremendously. This is the same case for China, the contributions from foreign companies is a big
reasons for China s success. The relationship between these two superpowers were not always very
strong. For years the United States trade system was not a very compelling situation for other
countries to do trade. As the United States evolved into the superpower country they faced a lot of
complications. For the United States of America to remain one of the world s most powerful countries

The united states has numerous amounts of factories in china for the production of goods at the
cheapest price possible. With Americans relying on the basic price of an item, say the price of an
iPhone, without manufacturing this in china at the lowest wage several americans would simply not be
able to buy these luxury items. This is the case for not just luxury items but for all items like plastic
silverware, furniture, backpacks and many other items. If the United States were limit the amount of
imports from china the entire economy would change. Not just because of the increase in prices but
small businesses would be affected as well. For example say a small self owned restaurant budgets
themselves on how much the plates, silverware, and napkins cost. Without imports from China these
prices would jump immensely resulting in the owner to either increase the price of the product or they

Police Brutality And Its Effects
Police brutality is a phenomena that is documented throughout a myriad of societies from Russia,
China, Indonesia, Palestine, Egypt to the United States. Police brutality is the use of force which
exceeds what is needed in order to accomplish a legal police purpose.Throughout America s history,
minorities, specifically Black people, have been the disproportionate target of police brutality.
Amnesty International has documented several examples of police brutality, including instances of
beatings, unjustified shootings, and excessively forceful detention methods which merit concern
(Amnesty 1999).The pervasiveness of police shootings of citizens has been widely publicized in the
media and stresses the fact that this is a national problem. While these occurrences are relatively
infrequent the lack of any solution or way to minimize brutality has been an ongoing criticism by
citizens and others of the United States police force. The term excessive force is utilized frequently,
although there is no concrete definition of this term as it is subjective (Police Use of Excessive Force
in Minority Communities). The use of force is either appropriate or excessive depending on if the use
of force is necessary and justified for the officer to complete his job (Police Use of Excessive Force in
Minority Communities). The use of deadly force is justified by law if the officer feels he or others are
under imminent threat. There are many high profile cases of the use of excessive and

Interior Plains Geography
The Interior Plains stretches from the Arctic Ocean almost to the Gulf of Mexico, the Plains are often
covered by shallow seas within the land. Sediments from the Canadian Shield and also the rocky
mountains were collected in the seas in the Plains over millions of years, eventually the sediments
were compressed by weight of layers above to become sedimentary rock. Parts of the rock deposited
in the area consists of coral reefs that formed close to the surface of the seas in the Palaeozoic era.
Today, the reefs are thousand of metres below the surface of the land, they contain much of the oil and
gas found in Alberta and Saskatchewan. The Interior Plains is covered by various types of grasses

Radar Intrusion Detection System ( Ids )
 INTRUSION DETECTION SYSTEM (IDS): The IDS is a type of security management system for
computers and networks. It gathers and analyzes the information from different areas within the
computer or a network in order to identify possible security threats, which may include both intrusions
and misuse[[98] , [99]]. It is installed between the firewall and personal computer or server as shown
in figure 7. The moment the IDS detects the attacks, an alarm is produced that informs the user of the
undergoing attacks. It has three core parts packet sniffing, detection and reporting.
Figure 7: Intrusion Detection System
According to the method of detection , IDS can be divided into: Anomaly and Misuse based detection.
After the construction of the normal pattern the data is classified into attacked data if it doesn t belong
to normal data. Misused detection is used to detect the attacks in different ways. Anomaly based
detection often has high false alarm rate due to the changeful attack patterns. Its accuracy rate is low
as compared to the Misuse based detection .The accuracy rate of misuse based detection is high

One study showed that garlic was able to reverse the buildup of fat and begin to clear the arteries.
However, for these results a large amount of garlic was needed to be consumed and over a lengthy
period of time (Fulder, 1997).
While studying animals, a scientist by the name of David Kritchevsky at the Wistar Institute in
Philadelphia, concluded that garlic reduced the cholesterols levels in the body by slowing down the
catalyst in the liver, which ultimately decreases the amount of cholesterol that is actually being
produced. One study which supports this conclusion was done by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
In this study, pigs were fed their normal diet with the addition of garlic extract. The LDL cholesterol
fell by half, the HDL cholesterol increased by 20 percent, and the production of fats in the liver also
was reduced by half (Fulder, 1997). These studies performed on animals proved garlic to be effective,
but the real tests are the ones done on humans; those are the ones which are more convincing.
In fact, multiple studies have been conducted on humans and have come to similar conclusions about
the effectiveness of garlic on cardiovascular disease prevention. In the late 1970s, several studies were
done testing the use of raw garlic consumption. Healthy subjects along with individuals with ischemic
heart disease consumed raw garlic for two to three months. The results showed a reduction in blood
cholesterol and triglyceride

Risk Mitigation Plan Based On Inputs Provided
DLIS risk manager and team will now be responsible with developing a risk mitigation plan based on
inputs provided by said team. Funds have been allocated for the plan due to the importance of risk
mitigation to the organization. Thus, senior management is committed to and supportive of the project
(ITT Technical Institute, 2015). Documentation, training, policies and procedures are helpful when
creating, testing and implementing a new risk mitigation plan. Documentation is extremely helpful as
it gives information on where the company was before the new plan was created, where the company
will be once the plan has been implemented and where the company will be in the future if the plan is
followed. Documentation also provides details for management and allows for easier troubleshooting
methods. Training of all staff is crucial if a plan is to succeed as the least trained individual is the
company s worst enemy. Training provides up to date information on new security measures as well as
what to do lists that all employees can follow in the instance of any issues. Policies and procedures
within a risk mitigation plan are set in place to achieve the most current security methods that any
company must follow in any market of today s society. These are created not only to help a company
remain secure within the network, but also make sure that the company is compliant with all

staff, clients and the organizations overall brand image. This will also decrease any impact from
regulators, nongovernmental organizations, and increasing the organizations effectiveness
operationally and financially (Jick Peiperl, 2011). The team also felt their recommendations would
improve global market stability with successful implementation (Jick Peiperl, 2011). PwC s senior
leadership continued to only focus on their financial results. This was another challenge the team
faced. The proposed changes were well received by leadership however; there was no action taken.
The team continued to drive their proposal to leadership emphasizing that the implementation of their
plan was essential as the organization moved forward (Jick Peiperl 2011). Leadership could not see
the forest through the trees due to the unwillingness to listen to new ideas from others. There was little
leverage the team had within the organization that did not provide much leverage as the executive

When the Columbian Exchange didn t happen yet many of the Native Americans had to do all of the
labor by themselves without any use of animals. After the Columbian Exchange, Columbus brought
over horses, dogs, cattle, goats, and chicken and it provided the Natives with a new source of labor
and also with a new source of food. Many of these animals carried diseases and humans were dying.
Those diseases that the animals carried with them came to the New World. Cattle were very profitable
because you could eat their meat and also use their hides as a blanket. The cattle hides were then

Rhetorical Analysis On Dumpster Diving
On Dumpster Diving Lars Eighner was an average successful man in the 1960s until one day, his life
took a turn for the worst. Eighner became homeless after losing his job and he stayed homeless for the
next three years of his life. On Dumpster Diving is his account of being homeless and how in order to
survive, he had to partake in dumpster diving. When hearing the word, dumpster, any person s first
thought is most likely to be of the pungent smell and revolting things that may be lurking inside the
big metal beast. Eighner uses many different rhetorical strategies when introducing his viewpoint, on
dumpsters, to the audience. He gives us the insider s view in the life of a homeless, dumpster diver,
through his own experience. The life of a scavenger and their ability to survive, along with the wasted
resources in American economies, are the main subjects within this piece. Eighner uses ethos, logos,
and pathos to introduce this to the audience. Ethos is a rhetorical appeal that Eighner establishes
automatically and through the text as well. Eighner is a well known writer, his work has appeared in
the Washington Post, The New York Times Review, and many others. He was a graduate of the
University of Texas at Austin, his educated mind is displayed through his diction. He uses the word
like corrupted, obscure, frankness, and niche. Obviously these are words your average street rat would
not use. This deems Eighner credibility because he is an educated personnel. Eighner s

Food Stamps Argumentative Essay
Argumentative Essay In 2014, almost seventy billion dollars was spent on the food stamp program.
Some may say that s a significant amount of money compared to how much the United States owes in
debt. Therefore, there should be more restrictions on who qualifies to get food stamps, and also on
how long people can receive them. If people are unemployed, then they should have applied to at least
three different jobs before being able to apply for food stamps. If people do have a job, then of course
they must be making below poverty level to qualify. The only exceptions should be made to full time

The only reason for why a person receiving food stamps cannot pass a drug test, is because the drug
being used is for medical reasons only. If one must take the drug test and not pass, then a warning
shall be given, along with two extra drug tests given monthly. If the same person does not pass the
second time, food stamps should be cut by twenty percent; if they cannot pass the third test given,
stamps should be cut by an additional thirty percent. Finally, if the same person has failed four
consecutive drug test, or four within three months, food stamps should be cut out completely with a
four month penalty before reapplying. The last restriction that should be applied to food stamps is how
long you are able to continue receiving them. A student would be to receive stamps as long as they are
enrolled in school. A parent, or household with children, can receive food stamps for the child until
he/she has graduated, or turned eighteen if the child has dropped out of school. This prevents someone
from dropping out of high school, still living with a parent, and the parent receiving food stamps for a

A Company Is A Separate Legal Entity
The concept of a company being a separate legal entity is the most striking illustration in separating
the company from its owners. A paramount principle of corporate law is that no shareholder or
member of a company is made liable for the obligations incurred by such incorporations A company is
different from its members in the eyes of law. In continuations to this the opposite also holds true in
the sense that neither can the company be held liable for the acts of its members. It is a fundamental
distinction that a company is distinct from its members. The words, corporate entity is not imaginary
or fictitious but quite real, whereas corporate personality is a fiction whose origin is to be found in the
psychological tendency towards personification gives an idea that the legal doctrine of corporate
personality was built around the idea of a sovereign grant of certain attributes of personality to a
definable group, which was engaged in an enterprise. When a company is incorporated it is treated as
a separate legal entity distinct from its promoters, directors, members, and employees, which confers
the benefit of not being responsible for the companies debt on the members on the company. However

Habitat Mitigation Case Study
4. In what ways do stakeholders involved in habitat mitigation interact? The major stakeholders
involved in habitat mitigation include non governmental organization and specifically, non profit
environmental organizations, the government and governmental organizations, and the public. Non
profit organizations often rely on the public as a workforce source. For Friends of the Alameda
Wildlife Reserve, the public plays a key role in monitoring. Monitoring is an essential aspect of
habitat mitigation. During the breeding season, it is important to know what risks California least terns

Because government organizations are the stakeholders with the majority of power, they play a pivotal
role in conservation efforts. The site at Alameda Point has been greatly influenced by the government
and government organizations. The United States Navy, which owned the property at Alameda Point
until 1992, had participated in tern conservation. However, the Navy hindered the efforts to make the
site into a wildlife refuge, by refusing to transfer the site to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The
transfer refusal was mainly about site contaminants, which the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service did not
want to accept responsibility for due to the fact that the Navy has a much larger budget than the Fish
and Wildlife Service. The Navy later solicited the Department of Veterans Affairs, who needed
modernized services for veterans in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the transfer occurred in June of
2014. This resulted in 512 acres being set aside as a wildlife reserve, but without the protection that a
national wildlife refuge entails (Feeney, pers comm, 2015). Although government organizations may
serve to hinder conservation efforts, they can also play a major role in collaborating with non profit
organizations. In the South Bay seventy five percent of the land that Snowy Plovers inhabit are owned

Color Purple Symbolism
Symbolism in The Color Purple
Alice Walker s Pulitzer Prize winning novel, The Color Purple, tells the story of a young black woman
in rural Georgia over thirty years in the first half of the twentieth century. Through her letters to God
and her sister Nettie, the protagonist, Celie, shares her struggles against physical, sexual, emotional
and verbal abuse. Through Celie s story and the stories of the other people in her life, the novel
explores the themes of racism, sexuality, spirituality, and gender roles. Walker enriches the story and
advances these themes through the use of symbols such as the sewing of quilts and pants; music; and
the use of colors. First, sewing is an important symbol in the novel that advances the theme of the

Postpartum Hemorrhage
Postpartum Hemorrhage
Introduction
Postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) is a significantly life threatening complication that can occur after both
vaginal and caesarean births (Ricci Kyle, 2009). Simpson and Creehan (2008) define PPH as the
amount of blood loss after vaginal birth, usually more than 500mL, or after a caesarean birth, normally
more than 1000mL. However, the definition is arbitrary, attributed to the fact that loss of blood during
birth is intuitive and widely inaccurate (Ricci Kyle, 2009). In line with this, studies have suggested
that health care providers consistently underestimate actual blood loss, thus, an objective definition of
PPH would be any amount of bleeding that exposes a mother in hemodynamic jeopardy (Ricci ...

The sign and symptoms of PPH include; the apparent excessive bleeding, hematocrit reduction of the
number of red blood cells, reduced blood pressure, development of symptoms of shock and anaemia,
and severe pain and swelling of tissues and muscles of the vagina, vulva, pelvic and perineum
(Simpson Creehan, 2008). Besides, Ricci Kyle (2009) avow that there are different factors that place a
mother at risk for PPH, and they comprise; prolonged first, second or third stage of labour, previous
history of PPH, foetal macrosomia, uterine infection, arrest of descent and multiple gestation. Other
risk factors may include; mediolateral episiotomy, coagulation abnormalities, maternal hypertension,
maternal exhaustion, malnutrition or anaemia, preeclampsia, precipitous birth, polyhydramnios and
previous placenta previa (Ricci Kyle, 2009).
Diagnosis and Assessment
The principal mode of diagnosis is a differential diagnosis, and it includes a plethora of facets;
bleeding from implantation site, which may be due to uterine atony, with predisposing factors such as
infections, and retained placenta or abnormal placentation (Sheiner, 2011). Coagulation disorders and
trauma are also essential facets considered during diagnosis (Sheiner, 2011). Conventionally, there are
different methods used for the estimation of blood loss during diagnosis, and they are majorly
classified as clinical and quantitative methods (Ricci Kyle, 2009). Clinical method remains the
primary means to

Flat Earth Research Paper
Yesterday I got a new neighbor. He says he is a member of the flat earth society. But he is very wrong.
The earth is not flat at all, it is round. I m going to figure out a way to make him believe that the earth
is not flat. Then he will not be a member of the flat earth society anymore and he can go prove to his
friends that it is not flat. Well to start off, Earth is round and everyone knows that. The earth was
formed from clouds and dust which created stars and other things. The earth s core was made first
because it was like winds were swirling around with all this dust. The gravity started to pull
everything together and then the earth was made. Then the earth s crust was made. Gravity is the
reason why the earth is a sphere. The earth is round because all the sides have to be equal if you were
to measure from the center. And if you were to measure it from the center then it would be the same
length all the way around in anyway that you measured it. Flat Earth Society members believe the
earth is flat because they walk on it and because it looks and feels flat. But did they ever look at the

Why Is Okonkwo So Cruel
Okonkwo was well known throughout his village and beyond for his fame which rested on personal
achievements. He was a tempered man and couldn t get his words out quick enough, and so, he would
use his fists. His wives, especially the youngest, lived in fear of his fiery temper, and sometimes he
would beat them. Why was Okonkwo so violent and cruel? This was because of his lazy, craven
father, who wasted his life away, and died a failure. Okonkwo however, was clearly cut out for great
things. He had fame for being the greatest wrestler in the nine villages, was a wealthy farmer, and had
already married his third wife. However, Okonkwo s life was dominated by the fear of failure and
weakness, and it caused him to make drastic and heartbreaking decisions.

ground. This made Okonkwo almost happy again, even though he had suggested to kill them.
Two days went by and nothing else had happened. Okonkwo and some men went to the commissioner
to discuss the situation, and instead, they were handcuffed and put into prison. This puts even more
fury and hate into Okonkwo and he thirsts for blood. He wanted to kill every white man in his village,

Once they paid the fine and were released from the prison, Okonkwo s fury leads him to behead an

Relationship Between ASLAnd FSL
American Sign Language is the primary language of communication amongst the Deaf community in
the United States. American Sign Language, more commonly referred to as ASL, is intriguing to many
with the ability to hear. Any form of sign language can draw attention from most bystanders. The use
of bodily language as a singular form of communication is vastly different for those who use body
language as an aid for understanding a spoken conversation. Many hearing people use body language
absent mindedly, from opening a one s stance to display dominance, to crossing arms to display
uncertainty or insecurity. However, those who use sign language purposely adjust their body language
in coherence with what they are saying. For example, in ASL, one ... Show more content on

Derived from French Sign Language, ASL has grammar that differs greatly from American English or
even British English. The close relationship between ASL and FSL is because of the first school for
the deaf opened in the United States. The school was founded by a Frenchman whose native language
was French Sign Language. (Tabak) Now many schools for the deaf have been opened throughout the
United States, yet the connections between ASL and FSL remain strong. Undoubtedly, ASL is a
singular language and like any two separate languages, a language barrier can result between hearing
English speaking parents and their deaf children. John Tabak, the author of Significant Gestures a
book on the education system for deaf children, discussed the language barrier generally between
hearing parents and deaf or hard of hearing children. The deaf students would head to school every
morning and spend most of their day conversing in sign, a language that is all their own, but when the
students were sent home the would be subjected to broken communication through signs, oral speech,
lip reading, and writing. Often the written communication of deaf children is different from hearing
students. As ASL is a separate language from English, it follows an entirely secular grammatical
system. Tabak eloquently summed up the difficulties facing the deaf education system, and the
relatively innovative approaches being implemented to adjust them. He mentions that there was a time
when deaf students at Austine School in Vermont were forced to communicate orally with all peers
and teachers. Now students at Austines can use ASL, which is a language belonging entirely to the
Deaf community here in the United States. Hence the importance of ASL being recognized as its own
language and not a subsection of English as many hearing people

Seasons In The Great Gatsby
According to author and keynote speaker Dennis Jones, The lesson for all of us is that we too have
seasons in our lives and each has its purpose... There are times of light and warmth... there are times of
growth and expansion... (2013). Based on his words, it is evident that each of the four seasons brings
about both positive and negative changes that everyone must endure; whether or not these changes are
openly welcomed by their recipients, they cannot be avoided. Instead of ignoring these new events and
changes, it is pivotal that humans and fictional characters alike take advantage of the opportunities
proposed by each of the four seasons. The principles stated in Jones words are directly applicable to

Just as leaves fall off of trees, characters take may experience times in their lives when their health or
relationships fall or slowly decay, which according to Foster s How to Read Literature Like a
Professor, is essentially what fall and winter symbolize decay and death respectively. For instance, in
Nicholas Sparks A Walk to Remember, the life of protagonist Jamie Sullivan, as narrated by antagonist
Landon Carter, comes to an end during the fall and winter seasons. Landon narrates an important
dialogue between Jamie when he says, You can t be in love with me, Landon, she [Jamie] said through
red and swollen eyes. ... Why not? I [Landon] shouted... Because, she finally said softly,... I m dying,
Landon (Sparks 1999). Landon is careful to mention that it is a grayish... cold winter day (Sparks
1999) before he retells the event of Jamie announcing her upcoming death. Jamie s preconceived,
ongoing death relates to idea that fall represents decline, whereas her actual death is symbolized by
winter. Because of her passing, Jamie and Landon s romance comes to an unfortunate conclusion,
again showcasing how the autumn season metaphorically symbolizes decline. Relating to Fitzgerald s
work, Nick narrates Gatsby s death by commenting, Gatsby shouldered the mattress and started for the
pool... and in a moment disappeared among the yellowing trees....

Mr. Smith And His Burglary Charges
I still mostly agree with my initial post on Mr. Smith and his burglary charges, but I challenge my idea
that justice is not served because he only pleaded guilty to two counts. Since the evidence is
circumstantial and the defendant has no prior record, the plea deal does serve justice. Just because you
believe a person to be guilty of X amount of crimes does not mean he is guilty. If the evidence is
shaky and the defendant is clean, justice is determined through what is presented. I also noted in the
initial post that the defendant could have burglarized more homes, but not caught. This is a stretch and
should never come into the decision process, unless evidence can be provided. With regards to Mr.
Smith, he might seem to be getting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

might have information to give, but make it earn it. Murdering someone should not give you a free

that the prosecution should try the case in court or offer him a better plea for the victims. Yes,
resources are better used if the case is pleaded out, but I still believe you cannot over look how many
homes he burglarized. I believe a pattern has evolved and he could be more dangerous than perceived.
I would agree that if Mr. Smith had something to offer, the plea deal for guilty on two counts could be
fine. It all comes down to how many homes he burglarized. Twenty is a lot and shows more than I
believe is being taken into account. To Jimmy and the mob bosses, I agree with the statement that the
government is at fault for not finding evidence to convict higher up mob bosses and giving Jimmy

Maumee Ohio Traffic Selection Process
Receiving a citation for breaking an Ohio traffic law can be disturbing, but receiving a guilty charge

guilty of breaking traffic laws. The monetary fine is only part of the penalty. The driver may receive
points on his or her license for the violation, and the points may affect that person s life in an adverse

Long Run Growth Of Pakistan
Long run Growth in Pakistan Ashoni Kumar April 26, 2015 Abstract: Growth rate of Pakistan over the

is recognized being impressive is because of the rapid growth rate that had its quadrupling impact over
per capita income as well as reduction in the poverty. During the same span of time the country fairly

Research Paper On IMS Design
IMS Design Approach The suggested frame of IMS design uses the basic rule of object methods in
which modeling of information and processes is concurrent. It is also assumed that the design process
is based on a single conceptual category of an object . The frame works on some assutions made in the
methodology of design and implementation of open systems for computer integrated enterprises
CIMOSA (Open Systems Architecture for CIM). CIMOSA was developed by AMICE (European

introduced an integrated enterprise modeling methodology based on processes. In CIMOSA

realizing elementary objectives of the enterprise activity. In the approach presented an assumption was
made that the domain may be defined for one or several spheres of the enterprise activity,

Fascism in the Twentieth Century
Fascism in the Twentieth Century; Hitler and Nazism
Fascism is one of the most controversial political terms in modern history. The lack of a universally
accepted definition for the term has meant that it can and has been applied to a wide variety of
political contexts. Fascism developed from the destruction caused by the First World War. Its origins
can be traced, however, to the intellectual revolt against liberalism in Europe at the end of the
nineteenth century. While there was a revolutionary reaction against the ideals of the French
Revolution before 1914, it was the First World War which acted as a real catalyst for the emergence of
fascism. The war swept away the Hohenzellern, Halsburg and Romanov dynasties in Germany, ...

Although it was a complex procedure, Hitler proved himself to be both a skilled political manipulator
and an original military strategist. But above all, Hitler was a rabid ideologist. As a result of his
actions, the Hitler state destroyed the legacy of imperial and Weinmar Germany and undermined the
humane values of German culture.
Unlike in Italy, the rise of fascism in Germany occurred in one of the world s most advanced
economies, for the German modernisation and industrialisation process during the nineteenth century
had helped to create a powerful state. Political extremism in Germany developed further from the
failure of the state and society to manage the complex problems arising from the country s sudden
defeat at the end of the First World War in 1918.
Although the First World War created the necessary conditions to enable the rise of Nazism,
Nazi ideology was derived from the intellectual and political underworld of pre 1914 Germany. Before
1914, this far right ideology which was heavily focused on anti Semitism, remained on the political
fringe and had little influence on domestic policies. Hitler himself, for example, although later greatly
influenced by the Austrian anti Semitism of Karl Leuger (1844 1910), was a failed art student and

he craved. He, like other failures in the German and Austro Hungarian empires, found in anti

As stated in the InsideJapan website (2017), many younger generations face the challenge that a job is

For many decades psychologists, theorists, and scientists have all sought to prove to their peers, society and the world that not only do people learn differently but children and adult learning differ also. Learning theories are conceptualized frameworks which describe how individuals absorb, process and retain information. Behaviorists such as John B. Watson, B.F. Skinner, Edward L. Thorndike, Ivan Pavlov and Edwin R. Guthrie believed that all learners were passive in nature and only responded to external stimuli. Behaviorism, as explored by the before mentioned, is a biological basis of learning and focuses exclusively on observable behaviors. • 4. The Theory Of An Organization Organizations are groups of people working together to achieve a common goal. The organizations theories correlate together in order for organizations to sustain functionality. In all organizations there is a common unit of power that directs the organization toward a common goal. Within the Department of Health and Human Resources, the source of power is the commissioner, and the direction of the department is to have zero child fatalities and maintain safety of children. The classical model focuses on the structure of the organization. The decision making starts at the top, with the person in power and trickles down to the employees in the organizations. Hence, the person in power has the authority and decision making capability. This is also known as bureaucracy, which occurs within a government institution such as; when meetings occur, the commissioner will make the final decisions about goals and how to implement those goals. All organizations recognize that decisions have to be made. The decision theory is similar to the classical model in how decisions are made and who makes the decisions. The person in power makes the decision, and the ultimate outcome is to achieve a common goal. Decisions are made on rationale when possible, but achieving a perfect goal is not the ultimate goal. When conflict occurs it is embraced, and organization work to accommodate or even coerce members to achieve common goals. Human relations theory is derived from the machine ... If one voted for the inclusion of the applicant, one would discretely drop a white bean into an opaque container. If one voted against the applicant, one would secretly drop a black or brown bean in the container. Only the officials knew the results of the voting. Setting Clear Boundaries in the Social Work Field Setting Clear Boundaries In Social Work Many individuals opt for the field of social work so that others may grow and improve their way of life and have a stable living style. However, while providing this sort of help to the clients, it is important that social workers are aware of their ethical boundaries and have communicated this to their clients as well. Setting and maintain clear boundaries is a very important part of every profession. As far as social work is concerned where the worker directly influences the lives of his clients, this practice becomes more important as it has a direct impact on ones professional integrity. Where we see number of complaints filed against the social workers for breach of ethical boundaries, it is important to understand what these limitations are and how to adhere to them. In order to understand the concept of setting clear boundaries, let s have a look at what Dietz and Thompson said about it. As per them, The concern about appropriate boundaries is, at least in part, a concern about the effects of the power differential between client and professional. It is primarily a concern about boundary violations (Dietz and Thompson, 2004, p. 2). In addition to it, it is important to realize that boundaries provide us safer connections based on the needs of clients we are dealing with (Peterson, 1992, p. 74). I m going to figure out a way to make him believe that the earth is not flat. Then he will not be a member of the flat earth society anymore and he can go prove to his friends that it is not flat. Well to start off, Earth is round and everyone knows that. The earth was formed from clouds and dust which created stars and other things. The earth s core was made first because it was like winds were swirling around with all this dust. The gravity started to pull everything together and then the earth was made. Then the earth s crust was made. Gravity is the reason why the earth is a sphere. The earth is round because all the sides have to be equal if you were to measure from the center. And if you were to measure it from the center then it would be the same length all the way around in anyway that you measured it. Flat Earth Society members believe the earth is flat because they walk on it and because it looks and feels flat. But did they ever look at the pictures and wonder why the earth is a ... He was a tempered man and couldn t get his words out quick enough, and so, he would use his fists. His wives, especially the youngest, lived in fear of his fiery temper, and sometimes he would beat them. Why was Okonkwo so violent and cruel? This was because of his lazy, craven father, who wasted his life away, and died a failure. Okonkwo however, was clearly cut out for great things. He had fame for being the greatest wrestler in the nine villages, was a wealthy farmer, and had already married his third wife. American Sign Language, more commonly referred to as ASL, is intriguing to many with the ability to hear. Any form of sign language can draw attention from most bystanders. The use of bodily language as a singular form of communication is vastly different for those who use body language as an aid for understanding a spoken conversation. Many hearing people use body language absent mindedly, from opening a one s stance to display dominance, to crossing arms to display uncertainty or insecurity. However, those who use sign language purposely adjust their body language in coherence with what they are saying. For example, in ASL, one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Derived from French Sign Language, ASL has grammar that differs greatly from American English or even British English. The close relationship between ASL and FSL is because of the first school for the deaf opened in the United States. The school was founded by a Frenchman whose native language was French Sign Language. (Tabak) Now many schools for the deaf have been opened throughout the United States, yet the connections between ASL and FSL remain strong. Undoubtedly, ASL is a singular language and like any two separate languages, a language barrier can result between hearing English speaking parents and their deaf children. John Tabak, the author of Significant Gestures a book on the education system for deaf children, discussed the language barrier generally between hearing parents and deaf or hard of hearing children. The deaf students would head to school every morning and spend most of their day conversing in sign, a language that is all their own, but when the students were sent home the would be subjected to broken communication through signs, oral speech, lip reading, and writing. Often the written communication of deaf children is different from hearing students. As ASL is a separate language from English, it follows an entirely secular grammatical system. Tabak eloquently summed up the difficulties facing the deaf education system, and the relatively innovative approaches being implemented to adjust them. He mentions that there was a time when deaf students at Austine School in Vermont were forced to communicate orally with all peers and teachers. Now students at Austines can use ASL, which is a language belonging entirely to the Deaf community here in the United States. Hence the importance of ASL being recognized as its own language and not a subsection of English as many hearing people ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mr. Smith And His Burglary Charges I still mostly agree with my initial post on Mr. Smith and his burglary charges, but I challenge my idea that justice is not served because he only pleaded guilty to two counts. Since the evidence is circumstantial and the defendant has no prior record, the plea deal does serve justice. Just because you believe a person to be guilty of X amount of crimes does not mean he is guilty. If the evidence is shaky and the defendant is clean, justice is determined through what is presented. I also noted in the initial post that the defendant could have burglarized more homes, but not caught. He might have information to give, but make it earn it. Murdering someone should not give you a free pass. Feedback to the Mr. Smith case: I still come back to the idea of the circumstantial evince and that the prosecution should try the case in court or offer him a better plea for the victims. Yes, resources are better used if the case is pleaded out, but I still believe you cannot over look how many homes he burglarized. It is also assumed that the design process is based on a single conceptual category of an object . The lack of a universally accepted definition for the term has meant that it can and has been applied to a wide variety of political contexts. Fascism developed from the destruction caused by the First World War. Its origins can be traced, however, to the intellectual revolt against liberalism in Europe at the end of the nineteenth century. Although it was a complex procedure, Hitler proved himself to be both a skilled political manipulator and an original military strategist. But above all, Hitler was a rabid ideologist. As a result of his actions, the Hitler state destroyed the legacy of imperial and Weinmar Germany and undermined the humane values of German culture. Unlike in Italy, the rise of fascism in Germany occurred in one of the world s most advanced economies, for the German modernisation and industrialisation process during the nineteenth century had helped to create a powerful state. Political extremism in Germany developed further from the failure of the state and society to manage the complex problems arising from the country s sudden defeat at the end of the First World War in 1918. Although the First World War created the necessary conditions to enable the rise of Nazism, Nazi ideology was derived from the intellectual and political underworld of pre 1914 Germany. Before 1914, this far right ideology which was heavily focused on anti Semitism, remained on the political fringe and had little influence on domestic policies. Hitler himself, for example, although later greatly influenced by the Austrian anti Semitism of Karl Leuger (1844 1910), was a failed art student and architect whose personal apathy prevented him from enjoying the bourgeois (upper class) lifestyle that he craved.
