Membranes Case Study
GO has also been mixed with the polymeric matrix to fabricate different nanocomposite membranes,
such as polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) MF/UF [141,224,225], polyether sulfone (PES) NF
membranes [226] and PSf [162]. One of the main drawbacks of the blending technique is the absence
of GO direct exposure to foulants, which restricts the interaction between foulants and GO.
Accordingly, the superior GO features, in terms of antifouling, will not be entirely exploited. The
direct deposition of GO nanosheets on the membrane surface is a more effective technique for fouling
control, hence the GO/foulants interaction can be maximized. The exceptional structure of GO confers
a considerably greater contact area for the convenient interaction ... Show more content on

The employment of GO leads to the production of small, uniform, stable and distributed AgNPs in
addition to improved silver loading and ion release control. Several applicable and effective
techniques for the fabrication of freestanding ultrathin rGO membranes were reported. One of these
techniques was exemplified by Liu et al [220], in which a reinforced GO membrane was shaped on a
mixed cellulose ester (MCE) filter through the filteration of diluted GO dispersion. The formed
GO/MCE membrane was then positioned over a hydriodic acid solution, where the GO membrane
rapidly changed to a black colour, confirming the reduction of GO to rGO by the acid vapour.
Furthermore, a new water filtration membrane was fabricated by LbL SA as it is an effective method
to generate dense layers on a membrane support [229]. This method was successfully used to integrate
the negatively charged GO nanosheets with a porous poly(acrylonitrile) (PAN) support through the
positively charged poly (allylamine hydrochloride) (PAH) by electrostatic interaction [211].
Additionally, GO based FO membranes were fabricated in several studies. The first trial was
conducted by Park et al [222], in which GO nanosheets were combined with the PSf to produce a
novel membrane with a PSf/GO composite support layer. The PA active layer was then shaped on the
PSf/GO via IP to obtain the

Examples Of The Kidnapping Of Charles Lindbergh Jr.
The Kidnapping of Charles Lindbergh Jr.
What man is so cold hearted to murder a baby just to try to acquire some money? Charles Lindbergh
Jr. was kidnapped in attempts to get some ransom money from his wealthy father, the famous pilot
Charles Lindbergh. The murder of the child almost seemed to be an accident and that it was a slip up
in the plan to kidnap the child. The man that all evidence points to and that was convicted was Bruno
Richard Hauptmann, but a man named John Knoll might have been the mastermind behind the
kidnapping and murder Charles Lindbergh Jr. The 20 month old baby, Charles Lindbergh Jr., was
murdered on the day of March 1, 1932. He had just been put to sleep by his nurse, who was the last
person to see the youngest child alive, when he was taken from his crib in the nursery on the second
floor ( Lindbergh Kidnapping ). His body was accidentally found on May 12, 1932, half buried in the
woods, 45 feet from a highway. The body s location was only four and a half miles away from the
Lindbergh estate. When Lindbergh Jr. s body was found, his head was smashed, his skull had a hole in
it, and was missing body members. The coroner s examination placed the time of death about two
months prior, placing the time of death in March, the same time he was kidnapped ( Lindbergh
Kidnapping ). After completing the report, it is obvious that a deeper look into the unsolved murder is
the next step. Nothing will be overlooked; no information let slip between the cracks.

Essay The Biography of Bob Marley
I love the development of our music, that s what I really dig about the whole thing. How we ve tried to
develop, y know? It grows. That s why every day people come forward with new songs. Music goes
on forever.
Bob Marley, August 1979
We remember the brilliant and evocative music Bob Marley gave the world; music that stretches back
over nearly two decades and still remains timeless and universal. Marley has been called the first
Third World superstar, Rasta Prophet, visionary, and revolutionary artist. These accolades were not
mere hyperbole. Marley was one of the most charismatic and challenging performers of our time.
Bob Marley s career stretched back over twenty years. During that time Marley s growing style ...

By the end of the Sixties, with the legendary reggae producer Lee Scratch Perry at the mixing desk,
The Wailers were again back at the top in Jamaica. The combination of the Wailers and Perry resulted
in some of the finest music the band ever made. Tracks like Soul Rebel, Duppy Conquerer, 400 Years,
and Small Axe were not only classics, but they defined the future direction of reggae. It s difficult to
properly understand Bob music without considering Rastafari. His spiritual beliefs are too well known
to necessitate further explanation. It must be stated, however, that Rastafari is at the very core of the
Wailers music.
In 1970 Aston Familyman Barrett and his brother Carlton (bass and drums, respectively) joined the
Wailers. They came to the band unchallenged as Jamaica s HARDEST rhythm section; a reputation
that was to remain undiminished during the following decade. Meanwhile, the band s own reputation
was, at the start of the Seventies, an extraordinary one throughout the Caribbean. However, the band
was still unknown internationally. That was to change in 1972 when the Wailers signed to Island
Records. It was a revolutionary move for an international record company and a reggae band. For the
first time a reggae band had access to the best recording facilities and were treated in the same way as
a rock group. Before the Wailers signed to Island, it was considered that reggae sold only on singles

Essay On The Executive Branch Of Canada
In Canada, for example, there are two branches in there Parliament. The first branch is the executive
branch. The executive branch contains the Prime Minister, the Monarch, and the Cabinet. This is the
branch that puts the laws into effect and makes the decisions of Canada s Parliament. The second
branch of Parliament is the legislative branch. The legislative branch contains more people than the
executive branch, it contains the Senate, the Monarch, the Governor General and the Prime Minister

Innocence In Toni Morrison s The Bluest Eye
In Toni Morrison s, The Bluest Eye Pecola Breedlove s life is told through the perspectives of her
peers and acquaintances which portray her as a poor, unfortunate, and ugly black child. She goes
about her life being beaten down at every opportunity, almost literally, and her singular wish for blue
eyes signifies her silent plea for a life better than the one she s currently living. Pecola exists in her life
like a doormat, to be stepped on, soiled and lost in the demented world that criticizes and dehumanizes
her. Pecola Breedlove s search for justice begins and ends with her singular wish for eyes she believed
would make the world view her differently, a wish that represents her innocence as well as her

Toni Morrison does this to convey that people often only try to understand someone and their
problems once they re too far gone to help. Pecola s conversation with her own imagination gives the
unfortunate circumstance that Pecola finally has a friend she talks to, but it s one she s had to create
herself. Not only does this reveal that she s been abandoned by even characters who caused her harm,
but also that her imaginary friend isn t formed from a child s imagination but is an escape from the
darkness that she s witnessed. Finally having access to the inner working s of Pecola s mind it s clear
that her way of thinking has been altered, for example she thinks that all the stares she s been getting
from people in the town are because they ve noticed her blue eyes . In reality her eyes haven t changed
color, and people are staring at her because they know she s pregnant with her father s child. As the
novel progresses it s not clear that the lives of other people are really affecting Pecola because she s
seen by everyone to take what she s given and move on. However there s a piece of the novel that s
confusing up until Pecola s breaking point. That being the titles of the chapters, which starts out as a
chapter on its own. Here is the house. It is green and white... , this simple paragraph is repeated, each

Roger Chillingworth Monologue
On page 17 the custom officer began to conclude his own thoughts about Roger Chillingworth and in
his own words said He was in truth, a rare phenomenon; so perfect in one point of view; so shallow, so
delusive, so impalpable, such an absolute nonentity, in every other. My conclusion was that he had no
soul, no heart, no mind; nothing, as I already said but instincts; From that tiny bit the officer
concluded that Roger wasn t a man but a monster that would hurt someone or something without
thinking it would just be second nature to Roger.
When I think of Roger Chillingworth and the officers thought it makes me start to think of a virus.

Analysis Of The Movie Hot Seat
A former hacker is trapped in his office with his chair wired to explode if he stands up and in order to
survive he must hack his way into a computer mainframe to open a vault for an unseen assailant.
STORY COMMENTS
HOT SEAT is a well written thriller that fully engages the audience. It s the type of script in which one
feels as if they are watching the film. The plot is similar to the concepts used in SPEED and in the
film PHONE BOOTH.
In this story, the protagonist finds himself trapped in his office and forced to remain seated in a chair
wired by a bomb. If he stands up, the bomb goes off. The hero is forced to hack his way into a
complicated mainframe to open a vault for a mysterious assailant. To raise the stakes, his family is ...

He s proactive with trying and failing. There s a nice twist with the reveal of the perpetrator and a nice
climax at the end except for the perpetrator strapping a bomb vest on an 8 year old. This could be
highly disturbing to the audience. Even though the idea of the other right is skillfully set up, there s a
taboo about exploiting children and seeing an explosive vest on a child could dissuade a producer.
With that said there are other areas worth discussing for possible revisions. However, even without
these possible revisions, the script feels marketable.
The first area worth discussing is the opening scene in central park and the hot dog cart. It s creative
and interesting choice, but highly unrealistic. When first read, one was not sure of the tone, especially
with the description of processed guts and yumminess. A more realistic scene doesn t involve a hot
dog cart, but simply people strolling in the park, and perhaps some teens or a homeless person find
something like a box and it s a bomb. The idea of the bomber going to the trouble of getting a hot dog
cart is more for dramatic purposes than realistic.
The scene between Jackson and Wally on page 2 isn t the most engaging i.e. their dialogue. What
works is the subtext about Life is chess. You better have a plan A, B, and C, or game over. On page 28,
again, their dialogue doesn t fully engage.
On page 3, a frantic officer tells them that there s an explosion in central park, and then on page 28,

Essay on Battle of Gen X and Gen Y
The Battle of Gen X and Gen Y
There¡¦s no doubt about it, the newest diversity issue in the workplace is age diversity. Many
organizations have finally figured out how to recruit young talent only to watch them drive down a
collision course with seasoned employees over issues like work ethic, respect for authority, dress code
and every work arrangement imaginable. And they re not sure what to do about it.
With this paper, I decided to take this concept because of the people that I have to work with on a
continual basis. They are usually people from the Generation X trying to communicate with
Generation Y. Just the other day I heard from someone I am working with, ¡§Those god d* amp;#

It is this realism and ability to deal with issues rather than ignore them. Most are decent, pragmatic,
creative, strongly independent, self reliant, and hard working. They have a surprisingly good work
ethic including a strong sense of company loyalty, as long as it s reciprocal and we want to get ahead,
even though we aren t as concerned with the trappings of quot;success quot; as earlier generations
were. However, they are very concerned with financial and emotional security, and hopeful that the
future will be good to us, but shockingly realistic and honest about the struggles that they are going to
face in a rapidly changing world of diminishing resources.
On the downside of the two generations, a lot of the Generation X¡¦ers will butt heads with their
younger counterparts. The old fashioned way of communicating via personal phone is being replaced
with an e mail or cell phone. Technology is ok but Gen Y is proficient and not afraid to use it, and this
kind of attitude demands change where as the Gen X just accepts it. Also, when it comes to employer
loyalty, if the Gen Y doesn¡¦t get their Saturday off they will quit; whereas the Gen X thinks if I do this
it could give me a promotion. The battle lines are clearly drawn in the line of attitude and influences of
the age diversity of this group.
So after drawing the battle lines between the two generations, I sat back and

Repercussions In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
When people do not take the time to think things through, and instead rush into them, the
repercussions can outweigh the benefits. In Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet, Friar Lawrence warns
Romeo they stumble that run fast (II.3). The Friar knows that Romeo s quick actions may lead to large
consequences, although he still agrees to marry the two lovers that same day. Both Romeo and Juliet
show haste in their feelings. In addition, Capulet rushes into creating a marriage for Juliet without
considering her reaction. The characters of Romeo and Juliet behaved without thinking about the
future problems of their actions, thus contributing to the deaths of two star crossed lovers. Romeo and
Juliet fall in love without having any knowledge of the other s family, and instead base their love on
physical attraction. Romeo s first reaction to Juliet is to describe her ... Show more content on

Juliet did not understand the permanence of a marriage at the time of her wedding, and is now forced

also gone through the Cuban Missile Crisis. Many thought an all out war was imminent, but Kennedy

Evacuation In Montecito Summary
In the article Rescue crews scramble to find missing in California mudslides as 10K evacuated in
Montecito the authors, Matt Gutman and Bill Hutchinson, explain the events that happened on
Thursday when Montecito experienced torrential rain and mudslides. They continue by describing the
effects that it has had on those living there as well as local businesses that have been affected.
Between all of the writings they have posted pictures allowing those who read it the opportunity to see
the extent of the damage themselves and see the rescue teams hard at work. The rescue teams, as they
mentioned, have been using rescue dogs to help them sniff out any human remains that could be
buried underneath the mud and those who have survived within buildings or trapped between rocks.
The message was clear and gave all of the information necessary to fully understand the situation

logic is like a three level pyramid with a few holes punctured at each status. The point of the pyramid

the base would represent the third class or poor. Taxes would be cut from the first class in order for
them to obtain more money. This is important because it was believed if the rich had more money they
would use it to benefit their businesses. Then they would have enough money to hire employees.
which would give employees money and that money that employees received could go to them and
their families to purchase goods they were in need of. This money would help other businesses as

Computer Access and Information Storage
Executive Summary
Computer access and information storage has drastically evolved with the increase of computer usage
and internet access across a wide range of areas including homes, businesses, schools and government
departments. These changes make requirements for more specific laws to regulate the use of
computers and storage of data as well as new forensic techniques and tools to investigate such
offences.
Following this, computer forensic investigators are becoming a necessity for lawyers and barristers as
support in both criminal and civil proceedings. What legislation exists in Ireland to handle computer
crime?
Ireland does not have exclusive law that would deal with computer crime as such, but has two laws
that can handle computer crimes. Criminal Damage Act 1991 (the 1991 Act ) deals with principal
offences in section 2 and section 5 while Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Offences) Act, 2001 (the
2001 Act ) covers computer related offences in section 9 and section 48.
Criminal Damage Act 1991
Section 2 (1) A person who without lawful excuse damages any property belonging to another
intending to damage any such property or being reckless as to whether any such property would be
damaged shall be guilty of an offence.
While section 2 above does not call out specific reference to computer related crime, the definition in
the statute regarding property does include offences relating to data.

Applying Criminological Theory to Solve the Murder of...
Applying criminological theory to a suspect s anecdotal evidence can help to distinguish which
suspect could be the possible offender. In this certain case, poor Tigger has been murdered and there
are 3 possible suspects. Merton s Anomie Theory will be applied to suspect number 1: Winnie The
Pooh. Eysenck s Theory will be applied to suspect number 2: Piglet and Social Bond Theory will be
applied to suspect number 3: Eeyore. Merton s Anomie theory works around the theory that a society
or culture inadvertently bring out offending behavior through pressure between the social norms and
the compulsion to achieve them (Thio, 1975). There are 5 aspects of social structure that associate
with this theory (Merton, 1938). Conformity, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Psychoticism relates to certain personality traits such as being impulsive, hostile and aggressive
(Eysenck, 1992). This theory is relatively consistent with the anecdotal evidence about Piglet, but has
more evidence that suggests that Piglet was not the murderer. The anecdotal evidence states that Piglet
has a Generalized Anxiety disorder which ties in with Neuroticism (Cattell and Scheier 1961).
Eysenck and Gudjonsson (1989) had found offenders tend to score high on both Psychoticism and
Neuroticism, (Lykken, 1990) which Piglet does not. He is often described as a generous animal, which
does not tie in with the aggressive, non empathetic, and anti social nature of Psychoticism (Woody and
Claridge 1977). Hirschi s Social Bond Theory is a theory that instead of being based on why people in
society commit offences, it is based on why people in society do not commit offences (Hirschi, 2002).
Hirschi (2002) identifies 4 main social bonds that can be used to determine the individual s likelihood
to become involved in deviant crimes. These 4 social bonds are attachment, commitment, involvement
and belief (Roland 1971). Altogether these social bonds are what make up the average mindset and
behavior of a non criminal (Gundy Yoder, 2007). So if a person was not to have a strong presence of
these bonds, it would then indicate deviant or offending behavior, and this is the case of Eeyore. The
first of these 4 social

The Ten Commandments For The Hebrew People
The Ten Commandments, a collection of regulations set out for the Hebrew people, were said to have
been delivered to Moses around the thirteenth century BCE, while he was on Mount Sinai, by the
Hebrew God, Yahweh. The foundation of Hebrew morals and laws were constructed solely on the Ten
Commandments, from which they then formed additional specific laws under each category of the Ten
Commandments. The Hebrew people undertook these commandments with the utmost seriousness.
The Hebrews firmly believed that if they were to follow this collection of regulations laid out for
them, the Lord would free them from slavery in Egypt. As a result of the Hebrew people following the
laws in which their God had laid out for them, they did indeed become free ... Show more content on

The man must then remain married to the woman, of which he slandered, for the rest of his life.
During the biblical era, it was quite common for a man to be engaged to a much younger, virgin

committed no sin and was not at fault. The eighth commandment given by the Lord was You shall not

explains that anyone who steals must certainly make restitution. This commandment focuses on
paying back the wrongful act in which they committed. The ninth commandment given by the Lord
was You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. This commandments main purpose was
to ensure that civilians did not go around accusing people of senseless crimes of which they had no

The History And Political Causes Of The Cold War
The Cold War refers to an era of U.S. history from roughly 1945 to 1990. Although the U.S.S.R. and
the U.S. fought ideological proxy wars in Vietnam, Korea, and Afghanistan, this era is referred to as
the Cold War because the United States and Soviet Union never actually engaged in war themselves.
The origins of the Cold War can be traced back to the finale of World War II. Beginning with the Yalta
Conference, the Allied powers of the Soviet Union, United States, and Great Britain started a
discussion concerning post war foreign policies. Specifically, the political system of Poland became an
important question for the Big Three . Should Poland be allowed to form a democratically elected
government, or should Russia be allowed to occupy Poland and further expand their communist
influence? Essentially, this question and many like it characterized the motivation for the Cold War.
The United States sought to contain communism while the Soviet Union pushed for both land
expansion and political influence across the globe. (CITE) Harry Truman took the office of President
just a few months before the end of World War II. Truman inherited a plethora of dilemmas heading
into the post War World II era, and he decided to take his stance on international affairs in 1947 with
the Truman Doctrine. Essentially, the Truman Doctrine promised that America would personally
intervene in order to insure that democracy would remain secure in foreign governments. This was a
stark contrast from the popular isolationist paradigm of the 20s and 30s. Furthermore, the Truman
Doctrine prompted an unusual act of international involvement when Congress agreed to aid Greek
and Turkish militaries in an effort to counter communist influence in these regions. Additionally,
Truman s handling of the Korean War is another example of his firm stance of containment. Truman
made no qualms about aiding the indigenous troops of South Korea with weapons and troops, but he
did openly reject the notion of meeting either China or the Soviet Union in an open land battle.
Furthermore, Truman fired General Douglas MacArthur based on the general s strong notion to invade
China and reluctance to respect the President s authority. Truman s decisions

How is performance management linked to organizational strategy execution and performance? A case
study of two organizations of different scale in Asia
By Raveenderen Ramamoothie Strategy execution is a topic of practical importance and its success
depends on how an organization integrates and aligns the business units and the employee

strategic goals realization is not optimized. One of the key issues is that the strategy and the
performance goals of an organization are often disconnected with the performance management

Rebecca Sedwick, a 12 year old girl, committed suicide after being repeatedly cyberbullied by 15 girls

Phillips, Suzanne ) Social media allows hundreds of ways to communicate with others with electronic
devices. Sometimes communicating with strangers, and sometimes unanimous. This idea of constant
messages, notifications, and texts can be very dangerous when it comes to cyberbullying because the
victim feels like they have no way out, or nowhere to hide. Social media for kids and teens ultimately
has only negative effects because it leads to cyberbullying, a decrease in education, and suicide.

Suicide is not an uncommon result of tormenting through social media. The psychological impact [of

either. Jennifer Holladay states, Our study of upwards of 2,000 middle school students revealed that

The Theme Of Friendship In John Steinbeck s Of Mice And Men
Friends are siblings God never gave us (Mencius). In the novella Of Mice and Men written by author
John Steinbeck, the world of migrant workers during the Great Depression is explored. The story
follows George and Lennie, friends who became migrant workers that get in trouble a lot and are
forced to move regularly. In the novella Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck the theme of friendship
is displayed through the characters of Lennie, George, Candy and his dog.
George is Lennie s foremost friend and his caretaker, taking him under his wing when he desperately
needed it. The life of a migrant worker is very harsh, especially when you consider how lonely they
must be. During the exposition we learn about our characters George and Lennie, and while the

Negative Effects Of Social Media And Its Effects On...
Effects of Social Media on the Mental Health of University Students
Social media is unquestionably, everywhere. In spite of its recent beginnings, it has quickly become an
indispensable part of everyday lives. Social media and various websites are the most commonly used
among today s society, specifically of young adults. Social media sites include learning resources, like
blogs; image and networking pages such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter; streaming
sites such as YouTube; and interactive peer to peer gaming sites. With these platforms, the world
continues to grow smaller and smaller as social media connects every aspect of human life, benefitting
young adolescents by improving connections, communication and even practical skills needed for
adulthood. However, despite its ability to bring people together, several recent researchers share the
belief that social media has affected society negatively, most especially those who are still in school.
The problem that this essay tackles is how young adults mental health is affected by too much social
media influence. Are online actions an expression of offline behaviors? Is social media harming young
adults mental health? These topics have been argued by several researches and make for interesting
debates. Statistics from a research done by Doctors Gwenn Schurgin O Keeffe and Kathleen Clarke
Pearson show many mental health issues, about 50 70%, are diagnosed before the age of 18. Making

In essay two of Nietzsche s On the Genealogy of Morality , Guilt , bad conscience and related matters,
Nietzsche seeks to explore the origins and constructs of guilt and in doing so, presents us with an
account where the concept of guilt has been misconstrued by the evolution of society. This very shift
in our understanding of guilt has subsequently led to, what Nietzsche claims to be, bad conscience . To
understand this evolution of guilt and the entity of bad conscience it is necessary to closely analyze
Nietzsche s account and in doing so, delve deeper into the mechanics of Nietzsche s understanding of
our morality.

Nietzsche believes that this value system of suffering, which was at the heart of ancient civilization,
did not go against life but celebrated the vitality of it, Nietzsche claims that guilt today has been
misconstrued as a result of the slave morality. The internalization process that man underwent through
the slave revolt in morality created depth and inner reflection that led to what Nietzsche calls bad
conscience . This notion of bad conscience was ultimately caused by the forced turning of our violent
instincts to punish others inward. This turning resulted in frustration as man lacked the capability to
express himself, in result of this, we created an inner life and conscience that sought to remove these
instincts. Bad conscience is therefore something that goes against life, that sickens humanity, it does
not allow for an expression of man s vitality for life. Instead, bad conscience defines a new set of
values for humanity that insist suffering to be something that destroys life. The concept of guilt now
takes on a different meaning; it represents an internal punishment.
Nietzsche s account of the original meaning of guilt seems to reflect a Hobbesian approach to the way
humanity works. Hobbes believes that society works under the terms of a social contract just as
Nietzsche does, however whilst these accounts may share the same views on

Delegation vs. Empowerment To delegate means to choose or elect a person to act as a representative
for another. To empower someone means to give power or authority to someone else (Runn, 2010).
Delegating a task is essentially having someone do a task on your behalf; although someone else is
doing the work, you have all the responsibility. Empowering someone means to give them enough
power and authority to act on their own behalf. To truly empower someone you must grant them
authority, proper resources, and hold them accountable to organizational values and principles (Runn,
2010). Describe and analyze the potential dangers of delegation. A manager who neither delegates or
empowers, or does them poorly will seem disorganized and will spend a lot of time catching up on
work. This could cause dissention in the ranks that could affect the subordinate s view of authority in
the manager, and could cause problems in productivity, which would result in negative outcomes,
whatever the product. Delegation and empowerment work best when it is done in small increments.
Delegating too much could overburden others, and leads to perceptions that you are uninterested,
unavailable, detached, disinterested or that you d rather have someone else do the job while you sit
back and take the credit and the pay (Eikenberry, n.d.). Not delegating

Julius Caesar Julius Caesar was a roman politician and general, who led a big role in the events that
demised the Roman Republic that led to the beginning of the Roman Empire. Julius Caesar was born
on the 12th of July, 100 BCE, into a noble family. His father was a Praetor who governed the province

had complications with the government and personal life, because he had married a woman named
Cornelia, whose father was the general and statesman s, Sulla s political rival, who had threatened to

Art And The Machine
The book, The Art and Craft of the Machine, is written by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1901. It summarises
the methodology behind Wright s approach towards architecture. The following aspects are the key
element in which Frank talks about throughout the book; the rising power of the machine, in contrast
to the abrasive effect it has in the industry and the positive effects of the machine in the fields of Art
and Crafts. Frank talks about the destruction of art with the use of the machine, as he states, that the
machine has dealt Art in the grand old sense a death blow, none will deny. This suggestion implies to
the mass production of furniture and art being produced on a large scale, only to lose their original
value. William Morris himself and his disciples created a movement called the arts and craft
movement , as they envisioned the rising power of the machine and the enslavement of mass
production. However, before Wright can talk about the negative impacts that the machine has brought
upon Art, he first describes what he means by the term Art and the Machine. Wright defines Art as

The Oklahoma State Liquor Laws
I am going to address the Oklahoma State Liquor Laws. The law specifically in question is section
534, chapter 3 of Title 37 in the Oklahoma Statues. The issue being that, in the state of Oklahoma, the
sale of any alcoholic beverage that is over 3.2 percent alcohol volume by weight has to be sold at
room temperature and cannot be sold in grocery stores or convenient stores. By law it can only be sold
by state licensed liquor stores. This means that the general public has to pay a higher mark up for the
alcohol purchased in these privately owned liquor stores and businesses. The law says that such drinks
are to be sold only at room temperature. It is also illegal for the sale of higher alcohol content drinks
on Sunday s, on election days, and on holidays. Texas, on the other hand, makes the sales of all
alcoholic drinks legal in grocery stores, convenient stores, and liquor stores. In September of 1907
Oklahoma accepted prohibition as part of the new state s constitution. In January of 1919, Oklahoma
became the eighteenth state to ratify, or make valid, the Eighteenth Amendment. The Eighteenth
Amendment prohibited the making, selling and transportation of alcohol. In February of 1933 the
Twenty First Amendment to the United States Constitution was passed. The Twenty First Amendment
repealed the Eighteenth Amendment and gave the individual states the rights to determine the alcohol
laws for their own state. Like a lot of other states, Oklahoma never ratified the

  • 2. Membranes Case Study GO has also been mixed with the polymeric matrix to fabricate different nanocomposite membranes, such as polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) MF/UF [141,224,225], polyether sulfone (PES) NF membranes [226] and PSf [162]. One of the main drawbacks of the blending technique is the absence of GO direct exposure to foulants, which restricts the interaction between foulants and GO. Accordingly, the superior GO features, in terms of antifouling, will not be entirely exploited. The direct deposition of GO nanosheets on the membrane surface is a more effective technique for fouling control, hence the GO/foulants interaction can be maximized. The exceptional structure of GO confers a considerably greater contact area for the convenient interaction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The employment of GO leads to the production of small, uniform, stable and distributed AgNPs in addition to improved silver loading and ion release control. Several applicable and effective techniques for the fabrication of freestanding ultrathin rGO membranes were reported. One of these techniques was exemplified by Liu et al [220], in which a reinforced GO membrane was shaped on a mixed cellulose ester (MCE) filter through the filteration of diluted GO dispersion. The formed GO/MCE membrane was then positioned over a hydriodic acid solution, where the GO membrane rapidly changed to a black colour, confirming the reduction of GO to rGO by the acid vapour. Furthermore, a new water filtration membrane was fabricated by LbL SA as it is an effective method to generate dense layers on a membrane support [229]. This method was successfully used to integrate the negatively charged GO nanosheets with a porous poly(acrylonitrile) (PAN) support through the positively charged poly (allylamine hydrochloride) (PAH) by electrostatic interaction [211]. Additionally, GO based FO membranes were fabricated in several studies. The first trial was conducted by Park et al [222], in which GO nanosheets were combined with the PSf to produce a novel membrane with a PSf/GO composite support layer. The PA active layer was then shaped on the PSf/GO via IP to obtain the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Examples Of The Kidnapping Of Charles Lindbergh Jr. The Kidnapping of Charles Lindbergh Jr. What man is so cold hearted to murder a baby just to try to acquire some money? Charles Lindbergh Jr. was kidnapped in attempts to get some ransom money from his wealthy father, the famous pilot Charles Lindbergh. The murder of the child almost seemed to be an accident and that it was a slip up in the plan to kidnap the child. The man that all evidence points to and that was convicted was Bruno Richard Hauptmann, but a man named John Knoll might have been the mastermind behind the kidnapping and murder Charles Lindbergh Jr. The 20 month old baby, Charles Lindbergh Jr., was murdered on the day of March 1, 1932. He had just been put to sleep by his nurse, who was the last person to see the youngest child alive, when he was taken from his crib in the nursery on the second floor ( Lindbergh Kidnapping ). His body was accidentally found on May 12, 1932, half buried in the woods, 45 feet from a highway. The body s location was only four and a half miles away from the Lindbergh estate. When Lindbergh Jr. s body was found, his head was smashed, his skull had a hole in it, and was missing body members. The coroner s examination placed the time of death about two months prior, placing the time of death in March, the same time he was kidnapped ( Lindbergh Kidnapping ). After completing the report, it is obvious that a deeper look into the unsolved murder is the next step. Nothing will be overlooked; no information let slip between the cracks. ... • 4. Essay The Biography of Bob Marley I love the development of our music, that s what I really dig about the whole thing. How we ve tried to develop, y know? It grows. That s why every day people come forward with new songs. Music goes on forever. Bob Marley, August 1979 We remember the brilliant and evocative music Bob Marley gave the world; music that stretches back over nearly two decades and still remains timeless and universal. Marley has been called the first Third World superstar, Rasta Prophet, visionary, and revolutionary artist. These accolades were not mere hyperbole. Marley was one of the most charismatic and challenging performers of our time. Bob Marley s career stretched back over twenty years. During that time Marley s growing style ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By the end of the Sixties, with the legendary reggae producer Lee Scratch Perry at the mixing desk, The Wailers were again back at the top in Jamaica. The combination of the Wailers and Perry resulted in some of the finest music the band ever made. Tracks like Soul Rebel, Duppy Conquerer, 400 Years, and Small Axe were not only classics, but they defined the future direction of reggae. It s difficult to properly understand Bob music without considering Rastafari. His spiritual beliefs are too well known to necessitate further explanation. It must be stated, however, that Rastafari is at the very core of the Wailers music. In 1970 Aston Familyman Barrett and his brother Carlton (bass and drums, respectively) joined the Wailers. They came to the band unchallenged as Jamaica s HARDEST rhythm section; a reputation that was to remain undiminished during the following decade. Meanwhile, the band s own reputation was, at the start of the Seventies, an extraordinary one throughout the Caribbean. However, the band was still unknown internationally. That was to change in 1972 when the Wailers signed to Island Records. It was a revolutionary move for an international record company and a reggae band. For the first time a reggae band had access to the best recording facilities and were treated in the same way as a rock group. Before the Wailers signed to Island, it was considered that reggae sold only on singles ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Essay On The Executive Branch Of Canada In Canada, for example, there are two branches in there Parliament. The first branch is the executive branch. The executive branch contains the Prime Minister, the Monarch, and the Cabinet. This is the branch that puts the laws into effect and makes the decisions of Canada s Parliament. The second branch of Parliament is the legislative branch. The legislative branch contains more people than the executive branch, it contains the Senate, the Monarch, the Governor General and the Prime Minister appoint members, and the House of Commons are members that are elected by voters. There are not just a few Senators there are over 100 Senators and they are all chosen by the Governor General along with the Prime Minister. Members of Parliament, also known as the heart of Canadian democracy, introduce, debate and pass legislation for all Canadians. The Cabinet and the Prime Minister are the people that are responsible for governing the country. A small group of Canada s parliamentarians, also known as Ministers, makes up Canada s Cabinet. Even though the Prime Minister and the Cabinet Ministers share the responsibility of governing the country, the Prime Minister is the person that chooses the Cabinet Ministers. Along with governing the country the Cabinet Ministers and the Prime Minister are also liable for maintain the House of Commons, and the House of Commons members are usually just the Cabinet Members. • 6. Innocence In Toni Morrison s The Bluest Eye In Toni Morrison s, The Bluest Eye Pecola Breedlove s life is told through the perspectives of her peers and acquaintances which portray her as a poor, unfortunate, and ugly black child. She goes about her life being beaten down at every opportunity, almost literally, and her singular wish for blue eyes signifies her silent plea for a life better than the one she s currently living. Pecola exists in her life like a doormat, to be stepped on, soiled and lost in the demented world that criticizes and dehumanizes her. Pecola Breedlove s search for justice begins and ends with her singular wish for eyes she believed would make the world view her differently, a wish that represents her innocence as well as her knowledge of the cold reality of social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Toni Morrison does this to convey that people often only try to understand someone and their problems once they re too far gone to help. Pecola s conversation with her own imagination gives the unfortunate circumstance that Pecola finally has a friend she talks to, but it s one she s had to create herself. Not only does this reveal that she s been abandoned by even characters who caused her harm, but also that her imaginary friend isn t formed from a child s imagination but is an escape from the darkness that she s witnessed. Finally having access to the inner working s of Pecola s mind it s clear that her way of thinking has been altered, for example she thinks that all the stares she s been getting from people in the town are because they ve noticed her blue eyes . He s proactive with trying and failing. There s a nice twist with the reveal of the perpetrator and a nice climax at the end except for the perpetrator strapping a bomb vest on an 8 year old. This could be highly disturbing to the audience. Even though the idea of the other right is skillfully set up, there s a taboo about exploiting children and seeing an explosive vest on a child could dissuade a producer. With that said there are other areas worth discussing for possible revisions. However, even without these possible revisions, the script feels marketable. The first area worth discussing is the opening scene in central park and the hot dog cart. It s creative and interesting choice, but highly unrealistic. When first read, one was not sure of the tone, especially with the description of processed guts and yumminess. A more realistic scene doesn t involve a hot dog cart, but simply people strolling in the park, and perhaps some teens or a homeless person find something like a box and it s a bomb. The idea of the bomber going to the trouble of getting a hot dog cart is more for dramatic purposes than realistic. The scene between Jackson and Wally on page 2 isn t the most engaging i.e. their dialogue. What works is the subtext about Life is chess. You better have a plan A, B, and C, or game over. Psychoticism relates to certain personality traits such as being impulsive, hostile and aggressive (Eysenck, 1992). This theory is relatively consistent with the anecdotal evidence about Piglet, but has more evidence that suggests that Piglet was not the murderer. The anecdotal evidence states that Piglet has a Generalized Anxiety disorder which ties in with Neuroticism (Cattell and Scheier 1961). Eysenck and Gudjonsson (1989) had found offenders tend to score high on both Psychoticism and Neuroticism, (Lykken, 1990) which Piglet does not. He is often described as a generous animal, which does not tie in with the aggressive, non empathetic, and anti social nature of Psychoticism (Woody and Claridge 1977). Hirschi s Social Bond Theory is a theory that instead of being based on why people in society commit offences, it is based on why people in society do not commit offences (Hirschi, 2002). Hirschi (2002) identifies 4 main social bonds that can be used to determine the individual s likelihood to become involved in deviant crimes. These 4 social bonds are attachment, commitment, involvement and belief (Roland 1971). Altogether these social bonds are what make up the average mindset and behavior of a non criminal (Gundy Yoder, 2007). Although the U.S.S.R. and the U.S. fought ideological proxy wars in Vietnam, Korea, and Afghanistan, this era is referred to as the Cold War because the United States and Soviet Union never actually engaged in war themselves. The origins of the Cold War can be traced back to the finale of World War II. Beginning with the Yalta Conference, the Allied powers of the Soviet Union, United States, and Great Britain started a discussion concerning post war foreign policies. Specifically, the political system of Poland became an important question for the Big Three . Should Poland be allowed to form a democratically elected government, or should Russia be allowed to occupy Poland and further expand their communist influence? Essentially, this question and many like it characterized the motivation for the Cold War. The United States sought to contain communism while the Soviet Union pushed for both land expansion and political influence across the globe. (CITE) Harry Truman took the office of President just a few months before the end of World War II. Truman inherited a plethora of dilemmas heading into the post War World II era, and he decided to take his stance on international affairs in 1947 with the Truman Doctrine. Essentially, the Truman Doctrine promised that America would personally intervene in order to insure that democracy would remain secure in foreign governments. This was a stark contrast from the popular isolationist paradigm of the 20s and 30s. Furthermore, the Truman Doctrine prompted an unusual act of international involvement when Congress agreed to aid Greek and Turkish militaries in an effort to counter communist influence in these regions. Additionally, Truman s handling of the Korean War is another example of his firm stance of containment. Truman made no qualms about aiding the indigenous troops of South Korea with weapons and troops, but he did openly reject the notion of meeting either China or the Soviet Union in an open land battle. Furthermore, Truman fired General Douglas MacArthur based on the general s strong notion to invade China and reluctance to respect the President s authority. Truman s decisions ... In spite of its recent beginnings, it has quickly become an indispensable part of everyday lives. Social media and various websites are the most commonly used among today s society, specifically of young adults. Social media sites include learning resources, like blogs; image and networking pages such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter; streaming sites such as YouTube; and interactive peer to peer gaming sites. With these platforms, the world continues to grow smaller and smaller as social media connects every aspect of human life, benefitting young adolescents by improving connections, communication and even practical skills needed for adulthood. However, despite its ability to bring people together, several recent researchers share the belief that social media has affected society negatively, most especially those who are still in school. The problem that this essay tackles is how young adults mental health is affected by too much social media influence. Are online actions an expression of offline behaviors? Is social media harming young adults mental health? These topics have been argued by several researches and make for interesting debates. This very shift in our understanding of guilt has subsequently led to, what Nietzsche claims to be, bad conscience . To understand this evolution of guilt and the entity of bad conscience it is necessary to closely analyze Nietzsche s account and in doing so, delve deeper into the mechanics of Nietzsche s understanding of our morality. Nietzsche believes that this value system of suffering, which was at the heart of ancient civilization, did not go against life but celebrated the vitality of it, Nietzsche claims that guilt today has been misconstrued as a result of the slave morality. The internalization process that man underwent through the slave revolt in morality created depth and inner reflection that led to what Nietzsche calls bad conscience . This notion of bad conscience was ultimately caused by the forced turning of our violent instincts to punish others inward. This turning resulted in frustration as man lacked the capability to express himself, in result of this, we created an inner life and conscience that sought to remove these instincts. Bad conscience is therefore something that goes against life, that sickens humanity, it does not allow for an expression of man s vitality for life. Instead, bad conscience defines a new set of values for humanity that insist suffering to be something that destroys life. The concept of guilt now takes on a different meaning; it represents an internal punishment. Nietzsche s account of the original meaning of guilt seems to reflect a Hobbesian approach to the way humanity works. Hobbes believes that society works under the terms of a social contract just as Nietzsche does, however whilst these accounts may share the same views on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Delegation vs. Empowerment To delegate means to choose or elect a person to act as a representative for another. To empower someone means to give power or authority to someone else (Runn, 2010). Delegating a task is essentially having someone do a task on your behalf; although someone else is doing the work, you have all the responsibility. Empowering someone means to give them enough power and authority to act on their own behalf. To truly empower someone you must grant them authority, proper resources, and hold them accountable to organizational values and principles (Runn, 2010). Describe and analyze the potential dangers of delegation. A manager who neither delegates or empowers, or does them poorly will seem disorganized and will spend a lot of time catching up on work. This could cause dissention in the ranks that could affect the subordinate s view of authority in the manager, and could cause problems in productivity, which would result in negative outcomes, whatever the product. Delegation and empowerment work best when it is done in small increments. Delegating too much could overburden others, and leads to perceptions that you are uninterested, unavailable, detached, disinterested or that you d rather have someone else do the job while you sit back and take the credit and the pay (Eikenberry, n.d.). • 34. Art And The Machine The book, The Art and Craft of the Machine, is written by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1901. It summarises the methodology behind Wright s approach towards architecture. The following aspects are the key element in which Frank talks about throughout the book; the rising power of the machine, in contrast to the abrasive effect it has in the industry and the positive effects of the machine in the fields of Art and Crafts. Frank talks about the destruction of art with the use of the machine, as he states, that the machine has dealt Art in the grand old sense a death blow, none will deny. This suggestion implies to the mass production of furniture and art being produced on a large scale, only to lose their original value. William Morris himself and his disciples created a movement called the arts and craft movement , as they envisioned the rising power of the machine and the enslavement of mass production. However, before Wright can talk about the negative impacts that the machine has brought upon Art, he first describes what he means by the term Art and the Machine. • 35. The Oklahoma State Liquor Laws I am going to address the Oklahoma State Liquor Laws. The law specifically in question is section 534, chapter 3 of Title 37 in the Oklahoma Statues. The issue being that, in the state of Oklahoma, the sale of any alcoholic beverage that is over 3.2 percent alcohol volume by weight has to be sold at room temperature and cannot be sold in grocery stores or convenient stores. By law it can only be sold by state licensed liquor stores. This means that the general public has to pay a higher mark up for the alcohol purchased in these privately owned liquor stores and businesses. The law says that such drinks are to be sold only at room temperature. It is also illegal for the sale of higher alcohol content drinks on Sunday s, on election days, and on holidays. Texas, on the other hand, makes the sales of all alcoholic drinks legal in grocery stores, convenient stores, and liquor stores. In September of 1907 Oklahoma accepted prohibition as part of the new state s constitution. In January of 1919, Oklahoma became the eighteenth state to ratify, or make valid, the Eighteenth Amendment. The Eighteenth Amendment prohibited the making, selling and transportation of alcohol. In February of 1933 the Twenty First Amendment to the United States Constitution was passed. The Twenty First Amendment repealed the Eighteenth Amendment and gave the individual states the rights to determine the alcohol laws for their own state. Like a lot of other states, Oklahoma never ratified the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
