Fiduciary Relationships In Texas
There are some business relationships in Texas, and elsewhere, which may impose legal
requirements of care and loyalty. These requirements may be referred to as a fiduciary duty.
According to the Cornell University Law School s Legal Information Institute, a fiduciary duty is
a legal responsibility to act solely in the interests of another person, group or business. Failing to
uphold these duties may be considered a breach of your fiduciary duties, which may lead to a
business dispute. There are numerous examples of fiduciary relationships. For example, an
investment manager might owe a fiduciary duty to the participants in a pension plan. As a
fiduciary, or someone who owes such a duty, you make take legal title to certain assets. However,

House Of Mirth Study Questions
House of Mirth Study Guide Questions 1.Lily, growing up had her mother who taught her the
manners and correct etiquette. That stuck with lily and it s all she s ever known how to act. Lily
had her future set put for a wealthy man, she takes on the rules of a man taking care of and
looking after a woman. 2.Seldon is portrayed as not stuck up and not into the finer things in life,
but loves to see those who do like the finer things in life and speculate and judge what and how
they spend their money on and how they live. Wharton presents this as how men are the
breadwinners and work for their women, as if they are in control of the women s future steps. If
women do not find a wealthy guy, they will have nothing to depend on but themselves. Seldon was
mostly a people watching and knew everything that would be going on, he experiences and got to

The language reflects and is comparable on business because like business, it s very sketchy and
mysterious, no one ever tells the truth. Lies are always told and you will always be tricked into
something for other people to be above you. An example of this comparison happening would be
when Lily slips into trying to drop hints of marrying her to Percy by giving seductive and
lingering eyes, gestures, and movements. 4.When the rejections of Seldon and Rosedale came
by it wasn t upholding Lily s high expectations for herself. It s more a reflection on her mother
and how Lily was raised. Lily s only view of a husband has only been high expectations, so it wasn
t surprising when they were rejected. 5.There was a lot of foreshadowing in Lily s future and
was she was meant to do in life. When she was separated from Seldon by being placed next to
Gryce instead of being her one and only love Percy, the trenors and Dorsets were settled with a bad
feeling, therefore giving better chances for Bertha to become closer to

Development of Control and Confidentiality for Database...
Early research efforts in the area of access control and confidentiality for DBMSs focused on the
development of two different classes of models, based on the unrestricted access control policy and
on the mandatory access control policy. This early research was transmitting in the framework of
relational databasesystems. The relational data model, being a declarative and high level model for
specifying the logical structure of data, made the development of simple declarative languages for
specifying access controlpolicies. These earlier models and the unrestricted models in particular,
introduced some important principles that set apart access control models for database systems
from access control models adopted by operating systems... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Also, the initial format of familiar commands for grant and revoke of authorizations that are today
part of the SQL standard. Next research proposals have extended this basic model with a variety of
features, such as negative authorization, role based and task based authorization temporal
authorization, and context aware authorization. This weakness makes unrestricted access controls
vulnerable to malicious attacks, such as Trojan horses embedded in application programs. A Trojan
horse is a program with an apparent or actually very useful function, which contains some hidden
functions exploiting the genuine authorizations of the invoking process. Sophisticated Trojan
horses may leak information by means of covert channels, enabling unauthorized access to data. A
covert channel is a component or feature of the system that is misused to encode or represent
information for illegal transmission, without breaching the stated access control policy. A large
variety of components or features can be misused to create covert channels, including the system
clock, operating system inter process communication primitives, error messages, the existence of
specific file names, the concurrency control mechanism, and so on. The area of compulsory access
control and multilevel database systems tried to address such problems through the development of
access control models based on information classification, some of which were also incorporated in
commercial products. Early compulsory

Examples Of Imperialism
Imperialism is a policy of extending a country s power and influence through diplomacy or
militaristic force. Often times, it involves the complete usurpation of a country s power and
involuntary renouncement of people s rights. This idea is expressed in works such as Shooting an
Elephant by George Orwell, The Wretched of the Earth by Fanon, An Open Letter to His Serene
Majesty, A Tempest by Cesaire, and The Strangehold of English Lit by Mnthali. These writers all
portray imperialismas a discriminatory act in which the well being of imperialists are given
significance over the imperialized. In the ideal case of imperialism, the imperialized and
imperialists are accommodated equally. However, all these cases of imperialism, as depicted... Show

In William s An Open Letter to His Serene Majesty Leopold II, he depicts the inhumane conditions
that Africans are subject to by stating that there are only three sick sheds for Africans, not fit for
horse. (pg 120) Williams creates a clear illustration of the Africans who are living in animal
accommodating environments. Ideal imperialism has uniform distribution of wealth between the
natives and imperialists, but in William s account, human interaction is being restrained by the
deliberate creation of rifts and boundaries in economy. The natives are relegated to servant like
positions in society. William s structuring of his opinions as a letter rather than an article suggests
that he assuredly believes in economic equality by structuring it as a personal work rather than an
informational one. Fanon supports William s conclusions when he states that the zone where the
natives live is not complimentary to the zone inhabited by settlers. (pg 131) He advocates that the
economic value of the settlers habitat doesn t equal that of the natives. Fanon also provides a
comparative depiction of the imperialist wealth when he states that the settler s town is a strongly
build asphalt. (pg 131) He delineates their town as notably wealthier than that of the natives, whose
town was described as impoverished by Williams. Both authors show that the natives are being
neglected economically. This economic inferiority of the natives develops a discrimination and
restrains the human interaction between the two races.
Psychological changes affects human
interaction by the degradation of native s self depiction. In imperialism, the imperialists disparage
and mistreat the natives and ultimately create psychological changes. We can see this shift in
Cesaire s A Tempest when a native slave, Caliban, says In your

Students At The University Of Alabama
The number of students attending the University of Alabama has reached a new high of 37,100.
That number is a 2.4% increase from 2014 (uanews.ua.edu). As the number of students is predicted
only to increase in the years to come, the University must reflect on the housing options for these
37,100 students. Freshman students required to live on campus face a difficult situation lack of
housing. With that being said, the best and most efficient way to cope with the ever growing
population is to allow freshmen to live off campus, and build more apartments around campus to
allow thousands of more students to have places to live in the future. Providing housing on campus
for nearly 8,000 freshman students is nearly impossible. The Presidential Villages house 1,840
students. Blout, Bryant, Bryce Lawn, Burke, Friedman, The Highlands, Lakeside, Parham, Paty,
Ridgecrest, Riverside, Somerville, and Tutwiler house roughly 5,000 more students. These
freshman options barely fit the ever growing number of new students coming to Alabama. The
University of Alabamaboard of trustees recently approved a $124 million dollar project to tear

Essay On The South African War
The war that occurred in South Africa from 1899 to 1902 has had several names throughout
history. Often, the title depends on who is discussing the war and on what side of the war they
were fighting for during the conflict. Several of these names include the Boer War, the Second
War of Liberation, the Anglo Boer War, and the South African War. Many historians today believe
that it should be referred to as the South African War, so as to include everyone who resided in
the South African region at that time. The conflict should be called the South African war as it
was not simply a war between white British and white Boers because there were many different
people and races involved and affected, including African workers, and foreigners who came to
work in the mines in the Transvaal.
The War in South Africa resulted from many different issues between the British Empireand the

If one tries to search the background on the conflict, you may note there must have been a reason
for the conflicting accounts. For example, there might have been a communication disorder

misinformation in the company. The supervisor might not have given sufficient information to the
employees regarding the table saw before the accident. Another factor that may result in such a

his wife. Shortly after Mrs. Johnson gets ready to head out the doors of her home deciding she will

While walking around the big city of New York, Mrs. Johnson saw a small candy store next to a
barber shop and a large cinema. In the store with many jars and shelves with candy, Mrs. Johnson
finally chose to buy Tootsie Rolls. One. Full. Bag. After purchasing her full bag of Tootsie Rolls,
she left the store extremely content with her purchase. Before Mrs. Johnson went into the store to
buy the Tootsie Rolls she recalled seeing a small hot dogstand. She went over to where she
remembered seeing it and fortunately it was still there. She bought one hot dog until she noticed a
little homeless girl. Mrs. Johnson then decided that she wanted to buy the poor girl a hot dog.
Calling the girl over Mrs. Johnson bought another hot dog for the little girl then handing her some
of the brand new Tootsie Rolls that she bought. The little girl, with great joy, skipped along with
her hot dog and Tootsie Rolls in her hand while Mrs. Johnson, with great happiness, watched the

What Is The Moral Of 12 Angry Men In The 1950 s
Twelve Angry Men is a movie that took place in the mid 1950s because of the 2nd world war
which had resulted in a depression of economies in the 1920s 1930s. Around this time the
American society was negotiating the political rights with the challenges facing the Soviet Union
which occurred over a decade. It was a political and economic struggle between the two nations. At
the same time, the nation was entering into an internal struggle; also the Civil Rights Movement
was concerned with hindering racism and promote freedom, respect and equality. This play
however expresses domestic conflict which reflects on the social and political conflict in the

The Negative Impact Of The Rehabilitation Act Of 1973
On September 26, 1973, the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 was put into place to replace the Vocational
Rehabilitation Act. The population that benefitted the most from this act were the people who lived
with disabilities. The Rehabilitation Act of 1973 developed, revised and implemented many plans
for the disabled population. A few of the plans that were carried out with this act were the assistance
of constructing and improve rehabilitation facilities, gauging the rehabilitation potential of
individuals with a disability, promoting and expanding employment opportunities for individual
with disabilities and more (U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, n.d.). In 2001, a bill
was introduced to the Senate by Senator Thurmond Strom (R SC) that proposed to exclude
prisoners from receiving the benefits of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (S.33 107th Congress, 2001).
A survey conducted in 2011 through 2012 showed that 32 percent of people who were in prison
had at least one disability. Of that 32 percent, 2 out 10 prisoners reported having some form of a
cognitive disability (Bureau of Justice Statistics, n.d.). If the bill that Senator Thurmond Strom
introduced to the Senate were to be passed, these prisoners with cognitive disabilities will be even
further oppressed and receive even fewer resources upon their release. This proposed bill will have
a negative impact on the overall outcome of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

Discuss The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Removable...
Adverse effects of removable partial denture on the periodontium
Prosthesis as a term is defined as the artificial appliance which intends to replace a lost part of the
human body. Moreover, prosthodontics is a branch in dentistry that deals with the replacement of
missing teeth and associated structures to restore both function and esthetics. Given that,
prosthodontics if branched as fixed prosthodontic, removable prosthodontics which includes:
complete denture and partial denture, and finally maxillofacial prosthodontics.
Removable partial denture is one of the crucial prosthetics used for partially edentulous patients. It
s used for patients who desire to replace one or more missing teeth in his/her oral cavity for
functional and esthetic demands. However, its indications varies for a case to a case.
As the population of our constantly changing world is increasing, the demands of removal partial

One of the main disadvantages of removal of partial denture is that it has a higher tendency to
accumulate plaque which affects the periodontal health of the abutment teeth. There are factors that

plaque is tremendous and is capable of producing severe oral inflammations in the oral tissues as

Beasts Of The Southern Wild Character Analysis
The film Beasts of the Southern Wild, directed by Behn Zeitlin, is set in Montegut, Louisiana,
known by the residents as the bathtub, and follows a young girl named Hushpuppy as her home is
flooded. She lives with her father, Wink, and her many, many animals. The bathtub is separated
from the rest of the world by a levee built to restrain water from entering the mainland. Both Wink
and Hushpuppy are incredibly happy with their lives, though Wink is slowly deteriorating from an
unknown illness. However, when a storm falls upon their home, its destruction changes everything.
Many of the residents of the bathtub evacuated before the storm; only Wink, Hushpuppy, and a few
other families decided to stay and tough out the storm. Soon after it ends, Wink s health begins to
decline rapidly. Even though Hushpuppy is scared for her father, she continues working hard,
striving to save her home from destruction. In her head, Hushpuppy animates aurochs, mythical
creatures, as a way to deal with her father s upcoming death, suggesting that people s natural
instinct is to resist change through illusion. Throughout the movie Hushpuppy s emotions are
represented through the aurochs journey toward her home. As the aurochs travel closer and closer,
she becomes closer to accepting her father s death. The images shown of where the aurochs are,
how they move, and where they are traveling to, all help to show Hushpuppy s different methods of
coping with Wink s death.

Persuasive Essay About Cheating
Everyone Does It For most, it is their worst nightmare to be caught in situations of misconduct.
Starting with a simple problem an unfinished test or loneliness ,these situations entice an act of
terrible character. In most instances, the immoral choice stem from a yearning of something
positive: a passing grade, attention, a win by attaining what they want. Although it can make a
heart race, this act does not risk bodily injury (nothing similar to skydiving or roller coasters). The
act is not not revealing a crush or stumbling over words during a public speech; it is sinister,
scandalous, and selfish. Most do it, yet all fear it cheating. The last five minutes of class flew by,
and with seven unanswered questions there are only a few options: leave them blank, copy the
answers of the closest person, or guess. These choices are black and white; two choices are good
while the latter is unethical. Since cheating is trivial to most students, they go with that choice.
Cheating requires less work and is a considerably easy task to accomplish, and teachers take it
seriously. In the directions before a test these words are always mentioned, No phones, no talking,
keep your eyes to yourselves. Cheating will result in a zero. The only person you hurt is yourself.
Although the last statement leaves the listener with a feeling of unease and disdain for the cheating
they have committed at any point in their life, the statement is not always true.
The instance of cheating at school

Ninety Five Theses
In this essay i m going to be writing about the ninety five theses. The Ninety Five Theses question
the Catholic Church s practice of selling indulgences and view skeptically the notion that a papal
pardon rather than penance or genuine contrition can achieve forgiveness of sins. Luther argued
that Christians were being falsely told that they could obtain absolution for souls in purgatory by
buying indulgences.
All Saints Church in Wittenberg, Saxony in the Holy Roman Empire, locally known as the Castle

though Luther s prince, Frederick III, and the prince of the neighboring territory, George, Duke
of Saxony, forbade the sale thereof in their respective lands, people in Wittenberg traveled to
purchase them. When these people came to confession, they presented their plenary indulgences
for which they paid, claiming they no longer had to repent of their sins, since the document
promised to forgive all their sins. Luther was outraged that they had paid money for what was
theirs by right as a free gift from God. He felt compelled to expose the fraud that was being sold
to the people. This exposure was to take place in the form of a public scholarly debate at the
University of Wittenberg. The Ninety Five Theses outlined the items to be discussed and issued the

Social polarisation is the widening gap within a given society that emerges from income disparities
within individuals causing various social groups, from high income to low income. It entails the
expansion of jobs that require low skills while at the same time, jobs that require higher
professionals and expertise still experience growth. There is a rising concern on issues of social

Rents have also gone up, and those residents who cannot keep up with the high rates move out of
the favelas. The current socioeconomic disparities in Brazil, that of wide income levels between the
rich and the poor, encourages the rapid growth of favelas. For instance, in Rio de Janeiro, political
prisoners who have a good educational background remain in prison with drug dealers permitting
them to create a criminal network that has excellent organizational structures. The syndicate that

the proceeds of cocaine sales. By helping many of the poor favela residents, they gain a lot of
support, which makes it challenging for the police subject the culprits to legal prosecution. Due to
a rise in arrests by the police, the Commando Vermehlo came to a standstill and the favelas

What Was Life Like In The Tale Of Sinhue
The life of an Egyptian consist of numerous special qualities that makes them unique as a person. In
The Tale of Sinhue, Sinhue entails us of his return to Egypt and how he now feels civilized. During
the duration that Sinhue lived as an Asiatic, he was deprived of his Egyptian qualities such as
appearance, house, and burial. Sinhue states I became clean shaven, and my hair was combed. A
load was given back to the foreign country. This statement indicates that the life of an Asiatic
consists of looking unclean and not paying attention to material things. The Egyptianswere anointed
with fine oil and clean linen. Furthermore, Sinhue argues that living as Asiatic was a load that was
placed upon him and now he feels liberated from that load. The load metaphorically can be

My Argumentative Essay On Lobbying
Every essay assignment changed my perspective on something or strengthened the knowledge I
already had but, with the Argumentative Essay I felt more engaged than ever with my
assignment. The ability to choose my topic already made me feel more in control, but i still had
to critically think. When I was determining what topic I felt more inclined to write about I was
confused on which to choose not because of lack of options but because my dilemma was that I
had too much. In order to truly pick I not only decided on what I was very passionate about, but
also on a topic that I knew was uncommon and could educate more than reiterate .I thought of
Lobbying which I once wrote a speech about and had a clear interest in. I had a lot of
conversations with friends and family about lobbying and came to the realization that it was not
only important to me, but to everyone I knew whether they knew about it or not it had a
significant importance in their life. The process was interesting because I didn t lack
information, but I had a lot since it was something that I had read upon for a long time so my
struggle became the organization. I also had to make it clear and concise because I found it was
easy to become stray from your main thesis when you have a lot of information on the general
topic. My views didn t necessarily change yet the ideas and notions I had on Lobbying were
strengthened by the research I got and how I tried to deliver my argument. I felt that my essay
did justice to the thesis and my message was conveyed clearly. It was satisfying to have the
counter arguments refuted because I felt as though my message gained more value and
credibility. The best way to explain the process is by using a metaphor , I felt like a lawyer who
was prepared to win for their client, except in my case the client was my thesis and I was my own
lawyer. My point was supported, but I also wanted those which had counter ideas to feel that my
argumentative essay did them justice by trying to analyze their point of view thoroughly. When
mentioning the counter argument on how lobbying should be regulated I found validity in some of
their arguments, seen by. There is no doubt that free speech should be protected and lobbying can

LAUNDROMAT NEAR ME.
A Laundromat is simply a place that offers laundry services that involves an individual being
actively involved in the whole process as it entails self service criteria and the clothes are washed
then dried with installed machines and they are usually operated by paying using coin. The name
may vary depending on where you are be it the United States, the United Kingdom, New Zealand or
Canada. It can either be called launderettes, launderettes or Laundromats. It all depends on your
location.

meaning, if the laundry was to take three hours at home because of single load per time, at the
Laundromat, it will take one hour because you will make three loads at the same time and
therefore they will be done at the same time and you will be ready to go home.
LOCATING A LAUNDROMAT NEAR YOU.
In every Country, State, City, and even town, there is always a Laundromat place somewhere that
can visit and get that piece of clothing clean or those clothes. Regardless of your location, there is
always a Laundromat store somewhere and there are different ways and methods that you can
employ to ensure you get the directions or address to the place. In the United States alone, there is a
rough estimate of over thirty five thousand Laundromat location. With this is mind, you can be
confident of the fact that you can never be stranded on where to get your laundry done, not when
there are so many of them. practically enough to take care of the whole population without straining
the resources.
One of the easiest ways is the traditional ask around method. Here, you will simply have to ask for
directions from your friends, neighbors or even relatives because there is a chance they have better

Factory Farming And Its Effects On Our Health
I had started a journey for a better and healthier lifestyle, but it took a turn and taught me about the
Factory Farming and how our food is affecting our health , the environment and the cruelty toward
the animals. Factory Farms are not the farms you see in a storybook or the picture you see on dairy
products and meatproducts, they are quite the opposite. Factory Farm is a modern farm where they
keep a large sum of livestocksuch as cattles , poultry, and fish in one area. According to ASPCA
over 99% of farm animals in the U.S. are raised in factory farms for food. I had never realized how

coli, obesity and many more. What constantly strikes me is the way they throw the animals waste in
the lagoon which causes air and water pollution and then pay fines for the violation because their
profit seems more important than other lives.
The problem is that today, everything we eat has meat in it. Many Americans love a juicy beef
burger with a side of fries or a hot dog at a summer bbq. In the article A Nation Of Meat Eaters:
See How It All Adds Up which was heard on Morning Edition reports that U.S has slightly
dropped the meat consumption per person to 270.7 pounds in the recent years, but we still
consume more meat per person than the rest of the country except for the Luxumbourgers and
chicken is the number one meat of choice after the beef consumption was declining in the 1970s
(Aubrey, Charles, Wertheimer). The demand for meat and dairy product is so high from the
consumers that the company is coming with new ideas to add meat and dairy product in their
products, for example, Burger King came up with Chicken fries then Mac and Cheetos ; today
donut shops offer bacon donuts, the hot dog stands now sells bacon wrapped hot dogs and the list
goes on. You will hardly see any company coming up with new healthier or plant based items on
their menu beacuse

Open Carry Should Be Allowed In Schools
Watching the news every afternoon to see another victim assaulted, killed or abused with the use
of a gun makes my fear grow immensely. Many things can occur with someone that has a gun in
hand. In colleges and universities individuals have used their gun power to brutally kill students.
Recently the State of Texas approved open carry in school grounds. Open carry should not be
permitted in Texas colleges and universities.
The dangers of having possession of a gun on campus can lead to a larger percentile of death

With students not personally knowing their classmates they are not familiarized with what they are
capable of doing with a gun in hand. Suicide is highly seen in college students, and allowing guns

James Bond Personality Traits
James Bond has been around since 1962, and 26 movies later, his image is still going strong of the
extremely handsome and covert agent that saves the day, and always gets a pretty lady/Bond Girl,

Bond traits in this movie, but at the start, he needs to brush off the dust and get back into the hunt.

that was always a step ahead, knows what to say and when to say it, and was always calm cool

at the court house, Bond and M are going to go to the one place Bond knows better than his

showing that she truly leave the situation in Bond s hands because she would never say
something like this if she could find her own way out. This speaks to the masculinity and power
Bond has in these situations. At Skyfall, even then you see a male dominated fighting plan, as

Athleticism And Athleticism
In American culture, athleticism and strength play a pivotal role in the way that people view one
another. Athleticism is viewed as more desirable and important, while artistic abilities tend to be
frowned upon by the public. Some people experience both sides of the stigma around being
athletic, such as playing tennis while being a member of the marching band. Likewise, a school
could give more funding to a popular sport over another, regardless of either team s actual skill.
Those on the wrong side are treated worse than those star athletes in more popular sports, such as
football or basketball. In JockCulture, author Robert Lipsyteexplores the effect of preferential
treatment of athletes, its effect on society, and the multitude of ways he has observed as a sports
writer. Likewise, author Brad Manning exposes his relationship with athleticism and the arts in,
Arm Wrestling With my Father , and explains the effect of competition on his relationship with his
father. This culture can be seen in every level of education, within professional athletics and home
lives, but is toxic no matter the setting. The expectations and concepts of athleticism in today s
society can divide or unite people, while stereotypes shape the way we live and communicate with
one another. Children quickly learn to fit in one should be athletic or at the very least interested in
sports. The lack of interest may divide and has the potential to create conflict. Two girls may join a

The Existence Of Homelessness
Purpose (#3) I believe certain individuals such as the homeless exist in this world and have a place
just as they do for a very valuable reason, the same reason Barack Obama is president, the same
reason Odysseus was the leader, and the same reason any CEO is the CEO. Each piece or person is
apart of life s bigger puzzle and has an important role in society whether we realize it or not. If
the homeless didn t exist, would our random acts of kindness even occur? If there wasn t such a
thing as pity, then would our random acts of kindness occur? We all rely on one another to fill

The Dimensions Of Mental Health
Life In life there is many things that could happen. Things that catch your attention, going to
wonderful places, and to be playing in a professional. It all goes forever but there is one thing that
you have to be aware of. The things we do to ourselves as to other people, and it all starts with our
own health, to living longer, and all the way to making decisions. These are the things to have a
great life and to be successful, and if you keep on reading, you will find out the things that will get
you there.
Dimensions of Health In life, there is something called psychosocial health. There are many
dimensions to this health, but I am going to explain four of them. The first dimension is Mental
Health, and this is the thinking part of psychosocial health. This part is where you have the ability
to do many things as to solve problems, interpret, to sense, perceive, and to also evaluate what is
happening. The next dimension is Emotional Health, this is the part where you feel love, hate, joy,
anxiety, and sustains borderline emotions such as hope and care. Also, it carries emotions that
result from harm, loss, but also from benefits. There is another dimension called Spiritual Health,
which is the part that describes the mean and purpose of life. It is the part that contains your music,
nature, and the belief of your religion. The last type of dimensional health is Social Health, this
type of health is when you have social skills and you use them whenever you interact

CTI: The play Betrayal written by Harold Pinter attempts to portray how through betrayal
relationships become complex. He did this in two ways, by introducing the problem at the

The Issue of Ethical Treatment of Animals
Animal Rights Introduction The issue of ethical treatment of animals has been a subject of
discussion for many years and among many scholars. It has raised legal issues especially among
the animal care specialists and bodies trying to ensure that there is a standard way of treating
animals. Whether the animals are pets or are for food later on, there has been a growing need for
the ethical treatment of them all. This is an issue that disturbs many Americans, me included since
it is unethical to mistreat animals yet they have senses just like man does. Although we always talk
of the human rights, rarely will one hear people discuss the animal rights, yet these are things that
we coexist with and depend upon for our daily survival. The animal rights are actually easier to
provide than even the human rights yet they are the most ignored of them all. Animals don t
demand as much as he human rights, it is the essential things that we al are acquainted with like the
ability to treat the animal well, avail sufficient sleeping space, proper feeding and protecting them
from harm from both things that can be found within the environment and ourselves. The animal
tortures or mistreatment is widely varied, ranging from confinement in small pens and houses,
excessive loading in the case of donkeys and horses, use of whips and other sharp objects on the
animals, ruthless killings like suffocation, unethical use in testing elements like shampoos, cleaning

Indiana State s process of policy grievance is a three step system in which the employee has to

the facts presented to him and returns a response to the employee and the human resources

resolution. This step goes with putting the focus on interests and keeping it

Brown V. Board Of Education Case Analysis
Brown v. Board of Education was a landscape changing court case that altered the public school
system forever. The ruling that separate educational facilities are inherently unequal, therefore, a
violation of the equal protection clause of the Fourteenth Amendment of the Constitution, ended
racial segregation in public schools (archives.gov). May 2014 was the 60th anniversary of this
court decision, and it is an important time to reflect on the effects that this ruling has had on our
country. According to research, black student achievement has greatly improved since the
desegregation of schools (Strauss, 2014). With the help of proper school supplies and conducive
learning environments, students of all races have been able to achieve higher academic goals. The
results of this court case extend beyond black students; Brown v. Board of Education opened the

Board of Education created the foundation for other court cases to desegregate schools on
grounds other than race. The Brown decision inspired advocates for children identified with
disabilities to pursue desegregation and other equality strategies (Minow, 2004). Thanks to
Brown, students with disabilities are able to attend schools with children their own age. While
this case is over 60 years old, America can still see and feel the influence of its verdict. Today, we
have a diverse student population within our public schools. However, more can still be achieved
for equality in our society. The struggle with racism and segregation are still very present in
America; we see proof of their existence in the news almost every day. The shootings in
Charleston, SC and Ferguson, MO are evidence that heinous crimes, which extend beyond
education, are still committed in America based on race. However, the removal of the Confederate

Tennessee Williams explores the theme of entrapment and flight through symbolism and motifs that
depict a want for escape, relationships that portray entrapment of each other and conventions of a
play, such as scenery, stage directions, narrative and dialogue that heighten these ideas as a whole.
The opening scene sketches out the scenery and initial symbol of entrapment for all the characters

describes, the flat is a symbol of depression, formulated by the era the play was set in, the 1930s

The Giver Book Comparison
Watching And Reading Is Different The life where nothing was ever unexpected. Or

the movie, The Giver by Lois Lowry, the protagonist, Jonas, was selected, for the biggest job in
the society being the Receiver Of Memory. First, when he was going to the assembly to be
assigned his number was not announced because the chief elder made a mistake, and then told the
audience that he is selected not assigned. He received painful memories from the Giver. The past
receiver was the daughter of the Giver, and her name was Rosemary. The Giver gave her pleasant

His main target in the book was just to save Gabe from the morning release. Now as he was
going, Giver told Jonas that he can return all the memories to the community which was only a
little part of him going to elsewhere, and that is also because of Gabe. For example, In the
movie, his target was to achieve four goals, saving Fiona, and Asher to be released, saving Gabe
from being released, and returning all the memories back to the community. Also, they won t
release Fiona, Asher, and Gabe because they will realize that release, in other words, is killing
which is very bad and also it is a crime in our world. Another example, And he had taken Gabriel,

Frankenstein And The Subversion Of The Masculine Voice
The Importance of Women
Mary Shelley was a strong advocate for women s rights so it is surprising that her first novel
consists of 3 male narrators. James P. Davis tries to answer this question as he hypothesised
different theories surrounding the lack of strong females or females at all for that matter in his
essay Frankenstein and the Subversion of the Masculine Voice.
The masculine point of view from which this story is told makes the women mentioned in this story
static characters. Furthermore it is suggested by Davis that both Frankenstein and his monster have
harsh feelings regarding women. Though it seems that both Frankenstein and the monster long for
a woman or love a women our view of that woman and the men s view on those women ... Show

Frankenstein fears woman by explaining how he refuses to create his monster a female friend
because he assumes females capacity of evil is greater than males. Davis also concludes that
Frankenstein fears the female s ability create new life saying, The possibility that his female
monster might reproduce moves Victor to destroy her (Davis 311). Not only Frankenstein has
harsh assumptions about women but the monster does as well. After the monster kills William he
frames Justine for the murder saying, Should she Justine awake, and see me, and curse me, and
denounce the murderer? Thus she would assuredly act, if her darkened eyes opened, and she
beheld me. The thought was madness; it stirred the fiend within me not I, but shh shall suffer: the
murder I have committed because I am for ever robbed of all that she could give me, she shall
atone. The crime bad its source in her: be hers the punishment! (Shelley 143 44)
Davis interprets this quote as saying that the monster assumes that Justine is a bad person and
deserves this punishment for what he has done. The monster assumes that women are there to
provide for him and he assumes that she is unwilling to do so even though she has not yet been
tested in that position. (James P.

This essay will show the characteristics of virtue by examining characters from the film Gravity.
The virtue of ethics gives guidance as to what behaviors or traits a person would need in order to
gain Endaimona. This was the ancient Greek philosophers term for a good human life or
happiness which is not meant by mood or feeling, but by a rich and fulfilling life for the individual
living it, explained by Russell (2013). This essay will focus on defining moments throughout the
film where a character has shown virtuein the decisions they have made. Virtue ethics is based on
the moral character of the person, it is what a character feels is the right thing to do; it is not

Sadly, the photograph floats in the empty space above earth. Kant wrote: A good will is not
good because of what it effects or accomplishes it is good through its willing alone, Even were it
to bring about bad consequences, that would not lesson our moral esteem for a good will in
itself (Paton as cited in Darwell, 1998, p.148). His decision to become an engineer and wanting
a career in outer space came with dangerous consequences, as the film states from the beginning,
Life in space is impossible . This film highlights the bravery which is a characteristic of virtue. He
will be called brave who is fearless in face of a noble death and of all emergencies that involve
death (Ross, 2001, pp. 975). Even though it seems unfair to loose one s life for job and duty to
country we are reminded of the virtuous act he was prepared to do in the first place.

Meaning Of Bread Givers By Anzia Vezierska
From start to finish, English this year had been unlike any other I had. From start to finish, each
and every book had a deeper meaning than I, before, could possibly resolve from the text. The
exposure I had to this deeper level of thinking forever changed the way I see literature. Less
about what than why , Literature distinguishes a meaningful story from another. While what
makes a book good is different for everyone, what makes a story meaningful is what it teaches.
Each book I read this year had a story and logic behind it. Every story was real enough to have
actually happened because the plot points are supported with real speculation backed up by the
nature of humanity. I, personally, have never gone as deep into literature as I have this year, giving
me a new appreciation for the genius behind the speculation these books present.... Show more

Though up to this time I had never gotten deeply engaged in a book, the jerkiness of the father
actually sparked anger in me. I did not go too much deeper into the book, and any meaning was
hidden behind the words that I thought little of. However after spending a week in English
talking about the book, I started to see meaning behind it, but only once the meaning was
directly stated. At the time, the book did not speak to me in any way, but now looking back,
what speaks to me the most is Sarah s new perception on identity. She asks herself, can a tree hate
the roots from which it sprang? Who gave me the fire, the passion, to push myself up from the
dirt? (286). She states that even though he resented living with her family, she can t hate them
because they made her who she is. I reflected on this, and I realised that the reason I am myself is
that I grew up under the family that raised me, and that I was raised the way I

How Is Language Used In Her First Ball
Katherine Mansfield s short story Her First Ball introduces us to Leila, a country girl on her way
to her first ball with her cousins, the Sheridan sisters. A range of language features convey Leila s
attitude of naive and excitement as the ball begins, and her transition to a young woman who is
more socially experienced and mature by the end of the story. The story conveys the message that
loss of innocence and youthful fantasy is an inevitable and vital part of the transition from
adolescence to adulthood. At the beginning of the story, Leila s attitude towards the ball is one of
exuberance as she has ever experienced anything like it before. Mansfield uses expressive language
features such as similes, personification and metaphors to emphasize... Show more content on

Mansfield uses lighter, brighter colours to portray Leila s adolescent fantasies surrounding the
ball and darker, more muted colours to portray the fat man s realist views. Before her encounter
with the fat man Leila notices more of her surroundings and the bright colours of the hall such as
gazing at the gleaming, golden floor, the azaleas, the lanterns, the stage at one end with its red
carpet and gilt chairs and the band in a corner, she thought breathlessly, How heavenly; how
simply heavenly! this shows us how excited Leila is for the ball through how carefully she
observes her surroundings as she enters the hall. Mansfield also uses white and pink symbols of
youth such as Darling little pink and silver programmes, with pink pencils and fluffy tassels. ,
smoothing marble white gloves and Laura s pink velvet cloak which show us how light colours
symbolise Leila s youthful innocence while the quotes long before that you ll be sitting up there
on the stage, looking on, in your nice black velvet , and the chaperones in dark dresses and and
you ll beat time with such a different kind of fan a black bony one which show us how darker
colours symbolise the fat man s pessimistic maturity. The use of colour in the text relates to the real
life psychological connections with humans, for example, we relate white and pink with young
girls and black with pessimism similarly to the way Katherine Mansfield uses colour in the

Salt River Labs Case Study Essay
Salt River Labs
Q What is the major problem at SRL? Who are the people involved and how do they contribute to
the problem?
1. There are many problems that are apparent at Salt River Labs. The first major problem is the
purchasing process. There are way too many people involved in this process. The current process
involves series of five different people, or groups of people. This starts with the Chemists who send
requisitions to supervisors, who send the requisition to Suzie Martinez, who sends the same
requisition to Barbara, who finally sends the requisition to Arthur who makes the final decision
about the requisition. Once a decision to approve or disapprove the requisition has been made, the

All of these trust/hostility issues are caused by a lack of communication among the entire
organization. Communication is the root of many of the problems at this company. Equipment
breakage is a very pertinent problem as well. Equipment continuously breaks and SRL does not
have the money or the resources necessary to fix the broken machines. The machine that has been
fixed already has not been picked up from Hewlett Packard because of the fact that SRL does not
have the money to do so. So, SRL has a fixed machine that they cannot use because of the debt the
company is undergoing. Another problem that is apparent at Salt River Labs is the inventory
situation. Ever since SRL moved from their old building to the new building, the inventory has
been left in the boxes they were transferred in. Nothing has been unloaded which is leading to the
problem of not knowing exactly what is in house. This inventory issue affects Arthur s opinion
on the chemists because he doesn t think that the chemists thoroughly search for the materials
they need before ordering more. All of the problems listed above are causing late orders, and if
orders are late or even non existent, then the company will eventually go out of business. Lastly,
Arthur needs to provide a financial analysis that explains where money has been coming from and
going to for the past 5 years. He has to have some type of budget plan, and if he is unable to
provide an accurate one for the company then

Inner City Schools Vs Boarding Schools Essay
Based on the video, it is clear that the SEED school is a great institute that offers an amazing
opportunity to inner city children. Most inner city students do not graduate from high school or
even have a chance to pursue a higher education due to the detrimental public school systems
located in cities. Children who are more privileged have the option of attending boarding schools
that provide an exceptional educationfor students. However, these private or boarding schools have
an astronomical price tag associated with them. Unfortunately, a majority of inner city students who
have the potential to do great things cannot afford to attend these institutions. As a result, they are
unfairly subjected to the caustic education of inner city public schools. With the SEED school,
however, these students are given the chance to attend a boarding school that provides an effective
education and meets a higher standard for learning. What makes the SEED school so great is that
the cost of tuition is free, allowing students from poor households to attend. Moreover, the
affordability of this school does not interfere with the quality of education. Even though students are
paying nothing to attend, they still receive a very rigorous curriculum and have access to numerous
resources.

level and ultimately become better rounded individuals. With more inner city students receiving
the opportunity to attend more rigorous schools, it is likely that our society will produce more
educated individuals. Ultimately, our society would benefit as a whole if more schools were to

The Negative Consequences Of Plagiarism In The Modern Age
Recent memory has been filled with technological advances following one after another; the twenty
first century has been an era in which change occurs at a nearly exponential rate. Each of these
advances has brought new opportunities for students and educators to further the learning
experiences. Few students can imagine a time before beneficial technologies like interactive white
boards or the near infinite resources held within the internet. However, these same resources which
can be positively used by students to supplements their educationcan also be used to unethically
benefit from the hard work of others. In the modern age, plagiarismis a tempting, easy, and
accessible ploy utilized by students across the world. In spite of the shifts in technology and
increased ease with which plagiarizers can operate, academia remains staunch in its stance against
the theft of other s intellectual property. At all educational levels, teachers still stress the
importance of using proper citations and the administrations of various high schools and colleges
have strict anti plagiarism policies. However, the methodologies of teachers and administrators have
changed to fit the times. In high school, many English teachers spend entire weeks teaching their
students the proper methods of citation on paper and using online resources. Likewise, school
officials explain to their students on a yearly basis the negative consequences of plagiarizing works

That stuck with lily and it s all she s ever known how to act. Lily had her future set put for a wealthy man, she takes on the rules of a man taking care of and looking after a woman. 2.Seldon is portrayed as not stuck up and not into the finer things in life, but loves to see those who do like the finer things in life and speculate and judge what and how they spend their money on and how they live. Wharton presents this as how men are the breadwinners and work for their women, as if they are in control of the women s future steps. If women do not find a wealthy guy, they will have nothing to depend on but themselves. Early research efforts in the area of access control and confidentiality for DBMSs focused on the development of two different classes of models, based on the unrestricted access control policy and on the mandatory access control policy. This early research was transmitting in the framework of relational databasesystems. The relational data model, being a declarative and high level model for specifying the logical structure of data, made the development of simple declarative languages for specifying access controlpolicies. Next research proposals have extended this basic model with a variety of features, such as negative authorization, role based and task based authorization temporal authorization, and context aware authorization. This weakness makes unrestricted access controls vulnerable to malicious attacks, such as Trojan horses embedded in application programs. A Trojan horse is a program with an apparent or actually very useful function, which contains some hidden functions exploiting the genuine authorizations of the invoking process. Sophisticated Trojan horses may leak information by means of covert channels, enabling unauthorized access to data. A covert channel is a component or feature of the system that is misused to encode or represent information for illegal transmission, without breaching the stated access control policy. A large variety of components or features can be misused to create covert channels, including the system clock, operating system inter process communication primitives, error messages, the existence of specific file names, the concurrency control mechanism, and so on. The area of compulsory access control and multilevel database systems tried to address such problems through the development of access control models based on information classification, some of which were also incorporated in commercial products. • 6. Examples Of Imperialism Imperialism is a policy of extending a country s power and influence through diplomacy or militaristic force. Often times, it involves the complete usurpation of a country s power and involuntary renouncement of people s rights. This idea is expressed in works such as Shooting an Elephant by George Orwell, The Wretched of the Earth by Fanon, An Open Letter to His Serene Majesty, A Tempest by Cesaire, and The Strangehold of English Lit by Mnthali. These writers all portray imperialismas a discriminatory act in which the well being of imperialists are given significance over the imperialized. In William s An Open Letter to His Serene Majesty Leopold II, he depicts the inhumane conditions that Africans are subject to by stating that there are only three sick sheds for Africans, not fit for horse. (pg 120) Williams creates a clear illustration of the Africans who are living in animal accommodating environments. Ideal imperialism has uniform distribution of wealth between the natives and imperialists, but in William s account, human interaction is being restrained by the deliberate creation of rifts and boundaries in economy. The natives are relegated to servant like positions in society. William s structuring of his opinions as a letter rather than an article suggests that he assuredly believes in economic equality by structuring it as a personal work rather than an informational one. Fanon supports William s conclusions when he states that the zone where the natives live is not complimentary to the zone inhabited by settlers. (pg 131) He advocates that the economic value of the settlers habitat doesn t equal that of the natives. Fanon also provides a comparative depiction of the imperialist wealth when he states that the settler s town is a strongly build asphalt. (pg 131) He delineates their town as notably wealthier than that of the natives, whose town was described as impoverished by Williams. Both authors show that the natives are being neglected economically. This economic inferiority of the natives develops a discrimination and restrains the human interaction between the two races.
Psychological changes affects human interaction by the degradation of native s self depiction. In imperialism, the imperialists disparage and mistreat the natives and ultimately create psychological changes. We can see this shift in Cesaire s A Tempest when a native slave, Caliban, says In your ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As the number of students is predicted only to increase in the years to come, the University must reflect on the housing options for these 37,100 students. Freshman students required to live on campus face a difficult situation lack of housing. With that being said, the best and most efficient way to cope with the ever growing population is to allow freshmen to live off campus, and build more apartments around campus to allow thousands of more students to have places to live in the future. Many historians today believe that it should be referred to as the South African War, so as to include everyone who resided in the South African region at that time. The population that benefitted the most from this act were the people who lived with disabilities. The Rehabilitation Act of 1973 developed, revised and implemented many plans for the disabled population. A few of the plans that were carried out with this act were the assistance of constructing and improve rehabilitation facilities, gauging the rehabilitation potential of individuals with a disability, promoting and expanding employment opportunities for individual with disabilities and more (U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, n.d.). Starting with a simple problem an unfinished test or loneliness ,these situations entice an act of terrible character. In most instances, the immoral choice stem from a yearning of something positive: a passing grade, attention, a win by attaining what they want. Although it can make a heart race, this act does not risk bodily injury (nothing similar to skydiving or roller coasters). The act is not not revealing a crush or stumbling over words during a public speech; it is sinister, scandalous, and selfish. Most do it, yet all fear it cheating. The last five minutes of class flew by, and with seven unanswered questions there are only a few options: leave them blank, copy the answers of the closest person, or guess. These choices are black and white; two choices are good while the latter is unethical. Since cheating is trivial to most students, they go with that choice. Cheating requires less work and is a considerably easy task to accomplish, and teachers take it seriously. In the directions before a test these words are always mentioned, No phones, no talking, keep your eyes to yourselves. Cheating will result in a zero. The only person you hurt is yourself. Fine dining in Bullhead was limited to Chile s and IHOP; in fact, I had never seen an Olive Garden or Chipotle until college. Activities for children were bowling and going to the movies, but it was a luxury since both the movie theater and bowling alley resided in Laughlin, which was twenty minutes away from my residence. Ninety Five Theses In this essay i m going to be writing about the ninety five theses. The Ninety Five Theses question the Catholic Church s practice of selling indulgences and view skeptically the notion that a papal pardon rather than penance or genuine contrition can achieve forgiveness of sins. Luther argued that Christians were being falsely told that they could obtain absolution for souls in purgatory by buying indulgences. All Saints Church in Wittenberg, Saxony in the Holy Roman Empire, locally known as the Castle Church Schlosskirche, where the Ninety Five Theses famously appeared, held one of Europe s largest collections of holy relics. Albert of Mainz, the Archbishop of Mainz in Germany, had borrowed heavily to pay for his high church rank and was deeply in debt. He agreed to allow the sale of the indulgences in his territory in exchange for a cut of the proceeds. Luther was apparently not aware of this. Even though Luther s prince, Frederick III, and the prince of the neighboring territory, George, Duke of Saxony, forbade the sale thereof in their respective lands, people in Wittenberg traveled to purchase them. When these people came to confession, they presented their plenary indulgences for which they paid, claiming they no longer had to repent of their sins, since the document promised to forgive all their sins. Luther was outraged that they had paid money for what was theirs by right as a free gift from God. He felt compelled to expose the fraud that was being sold to the people. This exposure was to take place in the form of a public scholarly debate at the University of Wittenberg. The syndicate that results, Commando Vermehlo, cunningly plans to expand social programs in the favelas using the proceeds of cocaine sales. My Argumentative Essay On Lobbying Every essay assignment changed my perspective on something or strengthened the knowledge I already had but, with the Argumentative Essay I felt more engaged than ever with my assignment. The ability to choose my topic already made me feel more in control, but i still had to critically think. When I was determining what topic I felt more inclined to write about I was confused on which to choose not because of lack of options but because my dilemma was that I had too much. In order to truly pick I not only decided on what I was very passionate about, but also on a topic that I knew was uncommon and could educate more than reiterate .I thought of Lobbying which I once wrote a speech about and had a clear interest in. I had a lot of conversations with friends and family about lobbying and came to the realization that it was not only important to me, but to everyone I knew whether they knew about it or not it had a significant importance in their life. The process was interesting because I didn t lack information, but I had a lot since it was something that I had read upon for a long time so my struggle became the organization. I also had to make it clear and concise because I found it was easy to become stray from your main thesis when you have a lot of information on the general topic. My views didn t necessarily change yet the ideas and notions I had on Lobbying were strengthened by the research I got and how I tried to deliver my argument. I felt that my essay did justice to the thesis and my message was conveyed clearly. It was satisfying to have the counter arguments refuted because I felt as though my message gained more value and credibility. The best way to explain the process is by using a metaphor , I felt like a lawyer who was prepared to win for their client, except in my case the client was my thesis and I was my own lawyer. My point was supported, but I also wanted those which had counter ideas to feel that my argumentative essay did them justice by trying to analyze their point of view thoroughly. When mentioning the counter argument on how lobbying should be regulated I found validity in some of their arguments, seen by. From start to finish, each and every book had a deeper meaning than I, before, could possibly resolve from the text. The exposure I had to this deeper level of thinking forever changed the way I see literature. Less about what than why , Literature distinguishes a meaningful story from another. While what makes a book good is different for everyone, what makes a story meaningful is what it teaches. Each book I read this year had a story and logic behind it. Every story was real enough to have actually happened because the plot points are supported with real speculation backed up by the nature of humanity. Most inner city students do not graduate from high school or even have a chance to pursue a higher education due to the detrimental public school systems located in cities. Children who are more privileged have the option of attending boarding schools that provide an exceptional educationfor students. However, these private or boarding schools have an astronomical price tag associated with them.
