High Stakes High School Case Study
Introduction
According to the case study (Appendix A), High Stakes High School (HSHS) is a low income,
underperforming urban high school in Bronx, New York. School enrollment consists of 79% Black
and 21% Latino students. Of the student body, 91% qualify for a free or reduced fee lunch, and 13%
qualify as English Language Learners (ELLs). Over the last decade, school performance has waned.
The performance has coincided with troubling school level trends, such as increased absenteeism and
suspensions, as well as gang activity and violence. Trying to align with the instability at the district
level, the school has had six different principals.
Action Plan
During the months of July and August, I established a task force team, involving all stakeholders, in
our school reform and prepared a 3 year action plan to turn around our school. As the principal of
High Stakes High School, my team and I shared the action plan report, based on the school data and
our research in education reforms, with the superintendent. Subsequently, the team shared the findings
at the first faculty conference, at the Parent Teacher Association meeting in September, and with our
students during the Welcome Back to School orientation session. The report identifies the three most
important steps to promoting a positive school culture and planning change. In alignment with

Similarities And Differences Between Harry Potter And King...
Throughout the Harry Potter novels, there have been many similarities between King Arthur and
Harry Potter. Harry and Arthur have shared similarities since the beginning of their lives, they were
both orphaned and raised by relative, and they both grew up unaware of their great destiny. Arthur was
the only one who could pull the sword Excalibur out of the stone, or from a hand coming out of the
lake which proves he is the true king. Just like only a true Gryffindor could pull the sword of Godric
Gryffindor out of the sorting hat and find it in the lake. Harry s mentor throughout the entire series is
Dumbledore who taught transfiguration and King Arthur s mentor was Merlin, an old man with a long
white beard who was also a shapeshifter. Harry was given an invisibility cloak by Dumbledore and
Arthur had a cloak that made whoever wore it invisible. Ron had a chess set that Harry and him
played with where the pieces moved by themselves and at the end of Sorcerer s Stone they
encountered a life size version. Arthur also had a chess board where the pieces could move all by
themselves. The Mirror of King Rhyence was Merlin s mirror where the person looking at the mirror
will see whatever they wish. Harry stumbled upon the mirror of erised which showed you what you
want most in the world. Harry and King Arthur both have enemies named Lucius as well. Throughout
all the similarities between the two characters makes both stories very interesting. There aren t just

Essay On Implantative Chemotherapy
Scientists are still working continuously to develop better treatment options including more advanced
forms of chemotherapy to control cancer, with the ultimate goal of a cure. According to the American
Cancer Society, recent research includes new classes of chemotherapy, novel combinations of
chemotherapy medications, and new routes of administering treatment. Some of the most exciting and
promising approaches involve implantable chemotherapy, topical chemotherapy and targeted therapy.
Gliadel wafers are an example of implantable chemotherapy used for brain tumors. Gliadel wafers are
soaked with a chemotherapy drug. After a surgeon operates to remove the cancerous tissue in the
brain, the surgeon implants several dime sized wafers in the space where the tumor once was. The
wafers destroy the remaining tumor cells. Over the following two to three weeks, the wafers slowly
dissolve, bathing the surrounding cells with the chemo medication. ... Show more content on

This is a local drug delivery technique that eliminates the side effects of systemic chemotherapy.
Another great example of advancement is the treatment for certain forms of skin cancer. Generally,
patients with non melanoma cancers confined to the top layer of skin, could be prescribed topical
chemotherapy. Topical chemotherapy is a cream or lotion applied directly to the skin cancer. The
cream uses anti cancer drugs to destroy cancer cells. Overall, for properly selected skin cancers, the
cure rate can be 80 90%. Finally, targeted therapy is currently the focus of much anticancer drug
development. Targeted therapy drugs don t work the same way as standard chemo drugs. Per the
American Cancer Society, many targeted drugs go after the cancer cells inner workings the
programming that makes them different from normal, healthy cells, while leaving most healthy cells
alone. These drugs tend to have different side effects from standard chemo

Lean Six Sigma And Benchmarking
Quality is a measure of excellence that conforms to requirements and free from defects in a service or
product and which meets the standards for a customer. Benchmarking is a method to compare the key
metrics of their day to day operation with other companies in the same industry (Marksberry, 2011).
This helps the companies to identify how they are performing, how they can improve their processes
and systems and in turn become more competitive. Benching marking is a method to understand how
to get the best performance in an organization, by the competitor or a different business and
information obtained in this process, is used identify the gaps in the operations of the business. Six
Sigma and Benchmarking currently is the practical and cost effective way to bring in the industry best
practices to the company (Ray Das, 2010).

It is important to have a thorough understanding of the processes, systems and operations of an
organisation before we start using the benchmarking tool. The organisations have strict policies
around the information to be procured and whom the practitioners can get in touch with, to get the
information. Benchmarking is not about making inquiries to other organisations or documenting their
processes and systems. A business should not limit its range in its own industry. It focuses on the
industry best practices and works on continuous improvements, sharing the knowledge and
information, strive to sustain a competitive edge and keeps on adapting to new changes based on the
customer preferences. It focuses on irrelevant actions, inefficient actions and Gap Activities to

Standards And Licensing Regulations For Developing,...
Standard Setting Organizations ( SSOs ) are organizations that are responsible for developing,
coordinating, and commercializing technical standards. These SSOs usually have rules on the usage
and licensing of patented technology within the standard to help guarantee that firms wanting to
implement these standards have access to the technologies required to comply with the standard.
Therefore, usually when a patent holder declares its patents as essential to a SSO and wants to include
it in the standard, the licensing rules of the SSO require the patented technology included in the
standard to be licensed on fair, reasonable, and non discriminatory ( FRAND ) terms. These patents
are commonly known as Standard Essential Patents ( SEPs ).
While a patent holder promises to license the SEPs under FRAND terms, a patent holder might own
some other patents that are important for a given technology but not really essential , these patents are
called non Standard Essential Patents ( Non SEPs ). And, one problem with this is that while the SSO
licensing rules require patent holders to license the essential patents on FRAND terms, in practice,
most patent holders tend to license all of their patents on a given technology without really
distinguishing between what patents are essential and what patents are non essential.
Therefore, the question being explored here is 1) whether the terms of a FRAND commitment are
violated when a patent holder bundles FRAND committed patents along

Teen Abuse Prescription Drug Abuse
Prescribed medication has become one of the top three leading drugs used and abused by teenagers in
America. According to Elizabeth Larsen, The Centers for Disease Control classifies prescription drug
abuse as the worst drug epidemic in United States history (Larsen p.4). This is the worst drug
epidemic in history because of the percentage of teenage usage. Based on different studies, pills are
the most commonly abused drug among twelve and thirteen year olds because of how easy they are to
access. In fact, many teens that abuse prescription medication has admitted that they, even with a
substance addiction, still receive prescriptions from their doctor. The teenage usage of prescription

Medical professionals should further their understanding of addiction; therefore, the medical

There should be parental control over prescription medications for any child under eighteen years of
age. A teenager that is undergoing surgery or might have slight ADHD should not be prescribed
addictive medication without a parent. There are young people across Mississippi that have
accidentally overdosed on prescription drugs and died. According to Autumn Grooms, Some teen get
togethers, known as pharming parties , have a cover charge of pills that are placed in a large bowl
creating trail mix (Grooms). This means teenagers are taking multiple pills at the same time, possibly
causing a sever chemical reaction or worse, death. Autumn also says, If teenagers are abusing
pharmaceuticals or over the counter medications, parents should be able to identify it before it is too
late (Grooms). Parents should be the first people to spot if their child is acting strange in any way. The
parents might notice changes in the teen s behavior, mood, or friends.

Analysis Of The Book Clotel Or The President s Daughter
In the novel Clotel or The President s Daughter, Williams Wells Brown s use of irony as Europe,
particularly France, as a pivotal setting for the liberation of African Americans from the bondage of
slavery, by virtue of its political and social demeanor, contrasted from the United States of America. In
the Letter Exchange between Benjamin Banneker and Thomas Jefferson, Banneker s letter reinforces
the situational irony when he argues, Sir, suffer me to recall to your mind that time in which the arms
and tyranny of the British crown were exerted with every powerful effort in order to reduce you to a
state of servitude (253). Thus, this citation reminds Jefferson of his and his country s origin. The
Letters of Exchange and scenes from the novel dramatize the oppression of enslaved African
Americans while acknowledging the irony by assessing the persisting gap between America s
founding principles and the ruthless existence of slavery.
The publication of Clotel in London in 1853 is the first indication of irony, by assessing the persisting
gap between freedom in Europe and the ruthless existence of slavery in America. Furthermore, it
indicates to the reader African American status in U.S. culture. To begin, allow us discuss Thomas
Jefferson, father of American Independence and a father of slave children. A free African American,
Benjamin Banneker, contested the racialist views offered in Notes on the State of Virginia and

Transactional Distillation Lab Report
Discussion: Extraction is a process in which one or more compounds is selectively dissolved with an
appropriate solvent. The compounds can then be isolated from their impurities through extracting the
original solvent into a second solvent. This requires that the compound be more soluble in the second
solvent than it is in the first. Also, the impurities are to be insoluble in the second solvent.
Furthermore, these two solvents must be immiscible, unable to dissolve into each other. These two
solvents are then mixed together then allowed to separate. This separation also allows the specific
compounds to also operate into the two different layers, removing the impurities from the desired
compounds. Chromatography is a term that refers to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They each have their own advantages and disadvantages. For example, extraction is a relatively
simple process with controlled recovery and a large range of selectivity and flexibility. However,
emulsion can hamper the results, making it less accurate and efficient due to compound loss. The three
types of chromatography that were cover in lab each have their own pros and cons as well. Thin layer
chromatography (TLC) is beneficial in that it is also requires a simple set up. It is also a a relatively
quick and sensitive process. Furthermore, the components that are separated in the process can be
recovered by scratching the coating on the top of the plate. Some of the disadvantages of TLC come
from the fact that the plate length works as a limiter, only being able to separate to the maximum
length of the plate. This separation also happens in an open system which brings room for error do to
conditions such as humidity and temperature effecting the process of separation. Gas chromatography
(GC) shares in the fact that it is relatively quick and it is also highly sensitive. It is also useful in that it
gives fully quantitative results. One of the main disadvantages of GC is that it only works with volatile
substances that will vaporize within the inlet. For this reason, things such as sugars cannot be used.
Also, it can

Ferdinand Porsche was one of the first people to create a successful car that was able to operate.
Ferdinand Porsche was born on September 3, 1875 in Maffersdorf, Austria. Ferdinand became
fascinated with electricity at a young age. At 18 years old Ferdinand Porsche got a job at Bela Egger

I also predict that schools receiving federal funds will use those funds accordingly and help educate
their teachers so they can educate their students with the same level of expectations, and because
students with special needs require more attention the special education class are outlined to meet
those needs by aiming to provide more assistance and attention.
As for my personal encounter of individual with a disability; the grew up around a cousin who was
with brain damage, as a kid I would go over to aunt s home and sit with him and read books; I would
massage his hands and feet because he would have seizures and I would see my aunt doing it so I just
picked up on what the adults were doing and try to help out. Even though he could not talk I felt he
could hear what I was saying because one time I was reading a book called Henrietta Hippo and I
would act the scenes and whenever I made the sound of the hippo he would look at me and make a
funny sound like he was trying to repeat what I was doing.
Another encounter I had just recently was while subbing at the local school district I got a chance to
work with a group of Pre K students and one of them was a cute little girl that has dwarfism; she is
five years old and she is very independent she picks up her toys when she is finished playing and we

Advantages And Benefits Of Partnership
Question_1 A. The advantages of partnership: 1. Relatively easy and cheap to establish and dissolve
the business. Different with company, the forming of partnership is very easy, without any approval
and registration. People may decide to create a business together and probably have formed a
partnership. They even probably created partnerships without realising if they are partners. The most
important thing is the true relationship between the parties who agreed to start a business. However, a
good agreement may be needed to set up a good partnership, however, it will not cost so much. Some
of the important things need to be included in a good agreement are: names and addresses of the
partners, name and address of the business, start ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
4. Partners are having fiduciary duties to each other. According to s 28 (1), the partners have access to
the firm s book or report so they know how the business is going, s 29 (1) deal with the accountability
of the partners who act for their own profits, and s 30 (1) restricts the partners from competing the
firm s business. The Birtchnell case shows that a fiduciary relationship will exist only if the parties act
for joint advantages only. 5. Attracting employees to become a partner. One of the incentives that
given to the employees of the firm is the fact that they may be invited to become a partner if they
perform well, because it is easy to change the structure of the partnership. 6. Easy to make up and
change the agreement. Agreement in partnership is not compulsory, however, even if the agreement
has been set very well, it is still possible to make up or change the agreement. For example, changing
the proportion of the contribution made by the partners or there is changes in the composition of the
partners (in or out). 7. The ability to split income at the level of ownership and shared responsibility.
The income of the partnership will be split to each partner. This means that the partnership as well as
the partners can lodge the tax return, so they may be getting tax return twice.

The movie Sunset Boulevard written by Billy Wilder highlights the screenwriter s potential of making
a reflexive film more than focusing on the style and aesthetics. The movie revolves around the life of a
fallen silent movie star, Norma Desmond, and her fame delusions. With the introduction of the sound
in the film industry, she is brushed off and forgotten not only by her associates but also by her dear
fans. This lifestyle change caused her to be drawn into the world of superstardom and luxury that she
developed for herself in mind. Her universe involved her mansion full of photos framed of her

The Wilder s Sunset Boulevard wasn t only scaring due to the controversial subject matter alone, but
also due to the realistic casting the leading roles. Swanson Gloria was astounding in the part of
Desmond Norma because of her real life skill with her faded career. Similarly, Stroheim s career also
diminished after the twenties, as it prepared him for his role that undertook as the silent film director
that turned the butler in the film. The most interesting idea of this life like cast was the chemistry

Athletes Professional Athletes
There are many arguments on pay gaps and wage differences between genders different races.
However, salaries of professional athletes and every day, essential careers, such as teachers, nurse, and
police officers, can become an even bigger controversy because we don t understand why athletes
deserve to be paid that much, or we think us, as everyday workers, deserve to get paid more for what
we do. There are some valid reasons that contribute to professional athlete s high pay, and our average
pay. This has always been an interesting line of inquiry for me because I never understood why
playing a sport could make you so famous and rich, but the salary for saving lives didn t even
compare. I remember multiple occasions where my dad and I were watching sports, and we landed on
the topic of why professional athletes get paid so much. To no surprise, these conversations always
ended in frustration for both of us and each of asking, what makes professional athletes so much more
important that the rest of us? It is no secret professional athletes have a higher pay than most these
days, but how much more? According to Chris Mueller, a sports columnist, the average Chicago Bear
s football player made two million dollars in 2011, and the highest paid doctor was paid close to
$500,000 (Mueller). This can cause much controversy due to the difference in preparation for the
careers. To become a doctor, it takes many more years of education and much more debt. The average

Relationship Measures Of Attachment Security And Parental...
The current study investigated the relationship measures of attachment security, parental sensitivity,
emotional availability, and child attachment classifications in high risk parent child dyads. The first
hypothesis was only partially supported, all home and lab based measures were positively related but
were not all significant. Consistent with past research, home based measures of attachment security
and parental sensitivity were strongly positively related, which adds to the literature supporting the
validity of the AQS and MBQS mini (Tarabulsy, et al., 2009). Moreover, these findings were
anticipated as the two measures are complementary and can be assessed using the same parent child
observations. Parental sensitivity was related to all EA dimensions. In contrast, attachment security
was not related to any dimensions of EA, except the dimension of adult structuring. The latter findings
failed to replicate results in past research which linked measures of attachment security to dimensions
of EA (Biringen et al., 2014). Childhood attachment classifications obtained through the Strange
Situation Procedure (SSP) were also examined in this study. Disorganized attachment has shown to be
the most detrimental on children. Given the high risk sample, the current study had an even split of
secure and disorganized children. These results have been replicated in the past by Easterbrooks,

Rabbit Proof Fence (2002) a film based on a true story by Australian director Philip Noyce set in
Western Australia in 1931 is a very mean and angry attack on the Australian government s in order for
the science of creating better races of people policy toward mixed race people. Continuing policies
begun by the British, the white government in Australia for sixty years forcibly removed all mixed

them . They were sent to government camps to be raised as servants, converted to Christianity, and
eventually blended in into white (community of people/all good people in the world).

Brian s Three Survival Strategies
Have you ever crashed in the wilderness and had to survive all alone? Well a boy named Brian did.
That 13 year old boy survived because of these three survival strategies. The three strategies are being
observant, planning ahead, and using his hatchet. Those strategies and the way Brian used them are
what you will read about.
The first strategy Brian used was being observant. One way Brian was observant was when he noticed
something bad was going to happen, and it did. Brian was in the water looking for fish for food then
all of the sudden he feels something weird is about to happen. Brian stands there for a few seconds,
and out of the sudden this moose comes and attacks him. After being attacked by a moose a tornado
hit destroying everything he made. Another way Brian was observant was when he was catching the

Brian used planning ahead as a survival strategy when he knew he would need food to survive, so the
night before he planned ahead to do so. The next day Brian got up and saw birds so he went to see if

wood. Brian woke up one day and the fire was very low, and he knew he would need more fire would
to keep the fire going. He went out and got enough wood not only to keep up the fire but to have wood
for the next day. And from that day on he got extra wood every morning. Brian also planned ahead
when he thought about the survival pack. Brian remembered he saw the survival pack in the plane. He
knew it would help him a lot so he went to the plane a few days after he thought about it. Those are all
ways Brian used planning ahead or being proactive as a survival strategy. The last strategy that helped

The Controversy Of Kurt Cobain s Death
For over 20 years we have been told by media, investigators, and even those closest to Kurt Cobain
himself that his death was a suicide, but as more details are revealed and more people come forward,
there is one question that hangs in the air: Was Kurt Cobain murdered? On April 8, 1994, Nirvana
frontman, Kurt Cobain was found dead in the greenhouse of his home in Seattle, Washington.
According to the coroner that examined Cobain, he had been dead about three days before he was
found (Grove). Only just four days before his death, he escaped from Exodus Recovery Center, where
he was staying to get help for his drug addiction. The same day that he escaped was the last day that
he ever spoke to his wife, Courtney Love. Although it is widely believed that Kurt Cobain killed
himself, with all the facts and evidence provided, it is apparent and obvious that Courtney Love killed
Kurt Cobain. To begin, Kurt and Courtney s marriage was failing. This was something that everyone
around them could see. Kurt had been planning to divorce Courtney and then move out of the country.
This exasperated Courtney, causing her to want to get back at Kurt for wanting to leave her and their

Jorge should also immediately call a meeting with the department heads, so that they can see all the
problems from different point of views and so that they are all on the same level of knowledge. After
that they have to search for the reason of the problems and where the problems are coming from. They
have to work together to find solutions. It should be easier if they hold the meetings from here on
between only two departments. This gives more space for specific discussions. So the meeting
regarding low equipment utilization should be held together with the finance and accounting
department because it applies to both departments at the same time. Like I mentioned earlier they have
different goals. So the accounting department wants high equipment utilization, the financial
department on the other hand wants low inventory stock. Jorge should be present during these
meetings as an objective person. Because in the end he has to make sure the decisions have the
ambition of an efficient workflow for the whole company and

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease ( Copd )
COPD Case Study Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is an interchangeable phrase used
to describe respiratory diseases characterized by airway obstruction. COPD is now a well known and
serious chronic disease, killing many and affecting a mass number of people per year. COPD is a
result in restricted (obstructed) airflow in the lungs. Obstructive diseases include bronchitis, in which
inflammation causes chronic bronchial secretions and narrowing of the bronchi and emphysema a
permanent destructive enlargement of the airspaces within the lung. 1) What clinical findings are
likely in R.S. as a consequence of his COPD? There are a number of clinical findings that can be
consequences due to R.S. COPD. R.S. has developed chronic bronchitis also coined as typed B COPD
or the blue bloater. A productive cough or an acute chest illness is common. The cough mostly is
worse in the mornings and creates a small amount of colorless sputum. Wheezing may occur in some
patients, predominantly during exertion and exacerbations (Mosenifar, 2014). Alterations in the airway
involve chronic inflammation and swelling of the bronchial mucosa causing scarring with increased
fibrosis of the mucous membrane. There is hypertrophy of the bronchial glands and goblets cell with
an increase in bronchial wall thickness, which leads to an obstruction of airflow. Goblet cells and
mucosal glands that experience hypertrophy cause a product of increased mucus that then combines
with purulent exudate

Internal And External Conflict Among Dinosaurs
Their is many internal and external conflict between the characters in the text. The main external
conflict is the dinosaurs against the characters. This is because the characters have to face the
dinosaurs and they fight against each other. It is survival of the fittest because they fight to the death.
They solve this problem by fighting back against the dinosaurs and by using their resources to defeat
them. Also they solve this problem by getting off the island at the end of the story and blowing up the
island. This is so the dinosaurs can not cause harm to others and because they were getting out of
control. Another external conflict is characters against other characters. This is because each character
has their own views about the dinosaurs

Learning Style Inventory ( Lsi )
Learning Style is a Term that has been of interest in the past few decades in the field of Organizational
Behavior. It refers to the way individuals perceive to acquire new skills, knowledge, or education.
Scholars of organizational behavior owe David Kolb who is the leading pioneer for the introduction of
such term due to his work since 1970`s.
David Kolb, a Professor of Organizational Behavior at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland
in the US, established an Experimental theory based on a 17 years search study to develop and
enhance the abilities of educators using the Learning Style Inventory (LSI). Coffieldand et al

has an overwhelming advantage over any other. Each has strengths and weaknesses but the strengths
may be especially important in one situation, but not in another.
Several scholars disagreed with the idea; that each individual has a unique learning style. They
critiqued the work of Kolb, Honey and Mumford, and others who followed on the road of searching
for improving and classifying educators in to learning categories. They insisted that naming individual
according to learning style prevent them from adapting to new ways of learning.
In this paper I used Honey and Mumford questionnaire to determine a suitable development program

consideration in the development program.

Life Without Fate In Macbeth
Things that one may have been or done before, are irrelevant to what is being done today. It doesn t
matter who one was before, only who they are right now. Yesterday, someone may have been
awesome, but they re a fool if they think that they can base their merit off of yesterday. Some people
will do great things but no one is going to remember what they said and if they were popular or not. In
Macbeth, written by William Shakespeare, Macbeth struggled with an inner conflict, choosing to kill
the king or not, and he chose to kill him. When Macbeth became king, he gained glory and pride, and
in the end, Macbeth realized that everything that he has done is pointless regarding his fate. In the last
soliloquy, Macbeth said,
a poor player,
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And is heard no more.
(Macbeth, scene 5, act 5)
When Macbeth killed the king, he decided his fate. Later his insecurities of losing power got to him
and that resulted in him killing Macduff s family. Macbeth, later realized that he could no longer
choose his fate. After Lady Macbeth dies, Macbeth lost hope and understood that he couldn t change
his fate anymore.. He finally understood that he had gone to the point of no return and now he must
understand that his honor from before wasn t going to matter now. Macbeth had his time in the
spotlight and now it s time for someone else. This part of the soliloquy shows that in one s life they
will have their hour of fame and glory, and after that hour,

Compare And Contrast The Sniper And The Man He Killed
Mankind must put an end to war, or war will put an end to mankind. John Fitzgerald Kennedy wrote
this quote to the UN General Assembly on September 25, 1961. In other words Kennedy is saying that
people should stop war because war tears people apart. In the writings The Sniper by Liam O Flaherty
and The Man he Killed by Thomas Hardy they also talk about how war tears people apart. These two
writings are both very similar although they have some differences in literary devices plot, irony, and
theme.
In these two works there are similarities and differences in plot. A similar plot from both stories is that
the protagonist, a soldier, had to kill someone. He must kill the enemy that enemy and he could not

If it wasn t for war, in both stories, they would have been friends. When the sniper reached the
laneway on the street level, he felt a sudden curiosity as to the identity of the enemy sniper whom he

person he killed, because he might like him and wanted to be friends with him. In the two stories the
main characters were both good people and felt remorse. You d treat if met where any bar is (Hardy

The Sniper has situational irony. Suddenly from the opposite roof a shot rang out and the sniper
dropped his rifle with a curse. (O Flaherty 207) The shooter wasn t expecting this outcome, because he
got shot instead of the other guy. In the poem The Man He Killed there is verbal irony. I shot him dead
because because he was my foe (Hardy 9 10) The man he killed was only his enemy on the battlefield,
but he felt like the could have been friends. Irony plays a big part in both writings because both the

Chinese Language
In this part of my paper I want to draw your attention to some surprising facts that pertain to the
Chinese language. The research shows that the Chinese language has a relatively uncomplicated
grammar. Contrary to French, German or English, Chinese has no verb conjugation (in other words
tense inflection). Also, this language has no noun declension, including gender and number
distinctions. While learning Chinese you do not have to memorize different verb forms of
tell/told/told. Under such circumstances, all you have to remember is just one word: kan. Also, while
learning English a person has to distinguish between hat and hats . In Chinese we have a totally
different situation. The only form that is present in this language is the word mao.
The basic word order of Chinese is subject is the verb object. The object exists just in the same form
as it exists in English. The research proves that there is quite a number of the key terms. These are
concerned with Mandarin

Fredrick Douglass Essay
The purpose behind Fredrick Douglass s Narrative was to appeal to the other abolitionists who he
wanted to convince that slave owners were wrong for their treatment of other human beings. His goal
was to appeal to the middle class people of that time and persuade them to get on board with the
abolitionist movement. Douglass had a great writing style that was descriptive as well as convincing.
He stayed away from the horrific details of the time, which helped him grasp the attention of the
women who in turn would convince their husbands to help by donating money and eventually ending
slavery. He used his words effectively in convincing the readers that the slave owners were inhuman

This meant that these bastard children were slaves despite their paternal heritage because their mother
was a slave. The effect of this revelation was to shock and offend the morals of the conservative
Northern whites. Northern society scorned people in adulterous and interracial relationships. By
portraying these Southerners as immoral and adulterous, Douglass wanted to cultivate in his audience
a damaging opinion of southern slaveholders (Quarles ix).
Continuing with the theme of family values, Douglass shifts to the basic family unit. Their master
separated Douglass and his mother when he was an infant, for what reason he does not know
(Douglass 2). No one gave Douglass an explanation because this situation was customary on
plantations. Douglass wanted to horrify his Northern white readers by informing them that
slaveholders regularly split slave families for no apparent reason. This obviously would upset
Northerners because the family unit was the foundation for their close knit communities. Multiple
generations and extended families lived together or near each other. It was unimaginable to the readers
that a society existed that took children away from their mothers without reason. Northerners would
think of anyone who was part of such a society as a heartless monster (Quarles ix).
Another example of how Douglass used family values against southern slaveholders was in the
treatment of his grandmother. When Douglass s master decided

Variations of the Game of Cricket
Trobriand cricket, engaged by Trobriand Islanders, has been referred to as a distinct variation of
standard cricket. Christian missionaries originally introduced cricket to the islands as a sport to
discourage war among the populace. The sport has been extensively modified by the Trobriand society
through increasing the amount of players, dancing, chanting, and adjusted bats and balls. As the game
of cricket substituted war among the people of the island when war was forbidden, it has incorporated
most of the older traditions linked with war for the Trobriand nation. The sport also reflects the
objective of pride instead of ceremonial tradition, which was introduced to islands by their British
conqueror and the American soldier during World War II.
The Trobrianders of Papua New Guinea were usually horticulturists who demonstrated and achieved
prestige and manhood throughout contest. These rivalries included the ability to plant yams, the skill
of making good trades and acquiring valuables, and maintaining the strength of a fighter. Conversely,
when Europeans missionaries occupied the island, the Trobrianders were required to give up their
tradition of warfare. When this happened, they lost a cultural outlet necessary to preserve the political
society and equilibrium of power between the Australasian islands. In order to complement this loss,
the missionaries initiated the game of cricket to the islanders, soothing their competitive character.

Management Accounting And Practices Of Small And Medium...
2.1 Introduction
This chapter begins by looking at the literature that will give considerable information about
Management Accounting and the practices of Small and medium Enterprises, bringing out the
interdependence and interrelation of one to the other.
2.2 Overview of Management Accounting
Management accounting was first known as cost accounting. This origin was reflected in the earlier
title for practitioners of cost or works accountants (Wilson and Chua, 1988). Accounting historians
have long endorsed the view that cost accounting is a product of the industrial revolution (Johnson,
1981). For example (Wilson and Chua, 1993) claimed that cost accounting was practiced by the
mechanized, multi process, cotton textile factories that appeared in England and United States around
1800. This point of view was consistent with Garner (1947) who pointed out that cost accounting had
emerged only after eighteenth century as a result of the rise of the factory system in the industrial
revolution. The traditional view contends that cost accounting arose due to the increased use of fixed
capital prompted accountants during the industrial revolution to graft cost accounting onto the double
entry system (Johnson, 1981). Garner (1947) argued that the practices and theories of cost accounting
origins can be traced to the fourteenth century. (Garner, 1947) explained that the English, Flemish and
German commerce have encountered significant growth during this period. and various

Evaluation Of A Nurse For My Clinical Essay
This week, I had the opportunity to be in the OR department for my clinical. I spent a whole day
observing the operation processes and the procedure itself, at the same time, I was able to get the
patient to the post operative care before they are discharged or sent to another floor for further
observation. I had an opportunity to observe four procedures. When I first arrived I was fortunate
enough to meet with a nurse who let me in the OR, who happened to be the preoperative nurse that I
will work with. After changing, we got a list of 2 patients. The first thing the nurse did was to explain
to me that we had to look for basic information such as allergies, lab results, present history and
physical for the patient. If there is no previous history within the last month or weeks, then we need to
remind the doctor to write a new one. Once we met with the patients, we started by taking vital signs,
asking their identity, and ask them to explain why they are there and what procedure they are there for.
I remember my nurse asking the patients about whether or not they are in the menopausal stages or if
there is a chance of them being pregnant. At the same time, my nurse gave antibacterial wipes for the
patients to wipe themselves in specific areas and change into the hospital gowns. My nurse then
started the IV with fluid and antibiotics while we discuss the medical history of the patient from the
previous procedure to active diagnosis, to medication that they are taking and

The Causes Of Urbanization And Poverty
Urbanization causes financial problems to the overwhelming majority of the people. This is because
problems with money are widespread in urban areas. First of all, urbanization leads to the extreme
growth of unemployment. For instance, as reported by the International Labour Organization,
International unemployment rose to 210 million people in 2010 (David Vicente 2012, p.154).
According to David Vicente (2012, p.156) vast amounts of unemployment results in human resources
not being used efficiently across cities which cause social inequality. This evidence shows that
urbanization causes unemployment. Urbanization leads to significant overpopulation in the central
cities, which causes high competition and as a result lower job opportunities for most people in the
labor market. As businesses and governments cannot produce enough jobs to meet the demand of a
fast growing population, a lot of individuals are faced with a shortage of employment and deprived of
a vital source of income. As a result, lack of revenue leads to inequality in society. Secondly,
urbanization leads to a lack of affordable housing for the overwhelming majority of urban people.
According to Gan (et al., 2017, p.427) in the forthcoming future, the global urban population will
reach around 6.3 billion people in 2050, and about 94% of them will be in developing countries.
Furthermore, approximately 828 million people from developing countries currently live in inadequate
housing and this number will rise

meaning that death and it s partner, Life in Death, have come for the Mariner and his crew since the
Mariner shot the Albatross, which had previously led them to safety. The arrival of a ship with tattered

  • 2. High Stakes High School Case Study Introduction According to the case study (Appendix A), High Stakes High School (HSHS) is a low income, underperforming urban high school in Bronx, New York. School enrollment consists of 79% Black and 21% Latino students. Of the student body, 91% qualify for a free or reduced fee lunch, and 13% qualify as English Language Learners (ELLs). Over the last decade, school performance has waned. The performance has coincided with troubling school level trends, such as increased absenteeism and suspensions, as well as gang activity and violence. Trying to align with the instability at the district level, the school has had six different principals. Action Plan During the months of July and August, I established a task force team, involving all stakeholders, in our school reform and prepared a 3 year action plan to turn around our school. As the principal of High Stakes High School, my team and I shared the action plan report, based on the school data and our research in education reforms, with the superintendent. Subsequently, the team shared the findings at the first faculty conference, at the Parent Teacher Association meeting in September, and with our students during the Welcome Back to School orientation session. The report identifies the three most important steps to promoting a positive school culture and planning change. • 3. Similarities And Differences Between Harry Potter And King... Throughout the Harry Potter novels, there have been many similarities between King Arthur and Harry Potter. Harry and Arthur have shared similarities since the beginning of their lives, they were both orphaned and raised by relative, and they both grew up unaware of their great destiny. Arthur was the only one who could pull the sword Excalibur out of the stone, or from a hand coming out of the lake which proves he is the true king. Just like only a true Gryffindor could pull the sword of Godric Gryffindor out of the sorting hat and find it in the lake. Harry s mentor throughout the entire series is Dumbledore who taught transfiguration and King Arthur s mentor was Merlin, an old man with a long white beard who was also a shapeshifter. Harry was given an invisibility cloak by Dumbledore and Arthur had a cloak that made whoever wore it invisible. Ron had a chess set that Harry and him played with where the pieces moved by themselves and at the end of Sorcerer s Stone they encountered a life size version. Arthur also had a chess board where the pieces could move all by themselves. The Mirror of King Rhyence was Merlin s mirror where the person looking at the mirror will see whatever they wish. Harry stumbled upon the mirror of erised which showed you what you want most in the world. Harry and King Arthur both have enemies named Lucius as well. Essay On Implantative Chemotherapy Scientists are still working continuously to develop better treatment options including more advanced forms of chemotherapy to control cancer, with the ultimate goal of a cure. According to the American Cancer Society, recent research includes new classes of chemotherapy, novel combinations of chemotherapy medications, and new routes of administering treatment. Some of the most exciting and promising approaches involve implantable chemotherapy, topical chemotherapy and targeted therapy. Gliadel wafers are an example of implantable chemotherapy used for brain tumors. Gliadel wafers are soaked with a chemotherapy drug. After a surgeon operates to remove the cancerous tissue in the brain, the surgeon implants several dime sized wafers in the space where the tumor once was. • 6. Standards And Licensing Regulations For Developing,... Standard Setting Organizations ( SSOs ) are organizations that are responsible for developing, coordinating, and commercializing technical standards. These SSOs usually have rules on the usage and licensing of patented technology within the standard to help guarantee that firms wanting to implement these standards have access to the technologies required to comply with the standard. Therefore, usually when a patent holder declares its patents as essential to a SSO and wants to include it in the standard, the licensing rules of the SSO require the patented technology included in the standard to be licensed on fair, reasonable, and non discriminatory ( FRAND ) terms. These patents are commonly known as Standard Essential Patents ( SEPs ). While a patent holder promises to license the SEPs under FRAND terms, a patent holder might own some other patents that are important for a given technology but not really essential , these patents are called non Standard Essential Patents ( Non SEPs ). And, one problem with this is that while the SSO licensing rules require patent holders to license the essential patents on FRAND terms, in practice, most patent holders tend to license all of their patents on a given technology without really distinguishing between what patents are essential and what patents are non essential. Therefore, the question being explored here is 1) whether the terms of a FRAND commitment are violated when a patent holder bundles FRAND committed patents along ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There should be parental control over prescription medications for any child under eighteen years of age. A teenager that is undergoing surgery or might have slight ADHD should not be prescribed addictive medication without a parent. There are young people across Mississippi that have accidentally overdosed on prescription drugs and died. According to Autumn Grooms, Some teen get togethers, known as pharming parties , have a cover charge of pills that are placed in a large bowl creating trail mix (Grooms). This means teenagers are taking multiple pills at the same time, possibly causing a sever chemical reaction or worse, death. Autumn also says, If teenagers are abusing pharmaceuticals or over the counter medications, parents should be able to identify it before it is too late (Grooms). Analysis Of The Book Clotel Or The President s Daughter In the novel Clotel or The President s Daughter, Williams Wells Brown s use of irony as Europe, particularly France, as a pivotal setting for the liberation of African Americans from the bondage of slavery, by virtue of its political and social demeanor, contrasted from the United States of America. In the Letter Exchange between Benjamin Banneker and Thomas Jefferson, Banneker s letter reinforces the situational irony when he argues, Sir, suffer me to recall to your mind that time in which the arms and tyranny of the British crown were exerted with every powerful effort in order to reduce you to a state of servitude (253). Thus, this citation reminds Jefferson of his and his country s origin. The Letters of Exchange and scenes from the novel dramatize the oppression of enslaved African Americans while acknowledging the irony by assessing the persisting gap between America s founding principles and the ruthless existence of slavery. The publication of Clotel in London in 1853 is the first indication of irony, by assessing the persisting gap between freedom in Europe and the ruthless existence of slavery in America. Furthermore, it indicates to the reader African American status in U.S. culture. To begin, allow us discuss Thomas Jefferson, father of American Independence and a father of slave children. A free African American, Benjamin Banneker, contested the racialist views offered in Notes on the State of Virginia and challenged the Declaration of Independence as a ... The compounds can then be isolated from their impurities through extracting the original solvent into a second solvent. This requires that the compound be more soluble in the second solvent than it is in the first. Also, the impurities are to be insoluble in the second solvent. Furthermore, these two solvents must be immiscible, unable to dissolve into each other. These two solvents are then mixed together then allowed to separate. This separation also allows the specific compounds to also operate into the two different layers, removing the impurities from the desired compounds. Chromatography is a term that refers to ... For example, extraction is a relatively simple process with controlled recovery and a large range of selectivity and flexibility. However, emulsion can hamper the results, making it less accurate and efficient due to compound loss. The three types of chromatography that were cover in lab each have their own pros and cons as well. Thin layer chromatography (TLC) is beneficial in that it is also requires a simple set up. It is also a a relatively quick and sensitive process. Furthermore, the components that are separated in the process can be recovered by scratching the coating on the top of the plate. Some of the disadvantages of TLC come from the fact that the plate length works as a limiter, only being able to separate to the maximum length of the plate. This separation also happens in an open system which brings room for error do to conditions such as humidity and temperature effecting the process of separation. Gas chromatography (GC) shares in the fact that it is relatively quick and it is also highly sensitive. It is also useful in that it gives fully quantitative results. One of the main disadvantages of GC is that it only works with volatile substances that will vaporize within the inlet. For this reason, things such as sugars cannot be used. Also, it can ... The current study investigated the relationship measures of attachment security, parental sensitivity, emotional availability, and child attachment classifications in high risk parent child dyads. The first hypothesis was only partially supported, all home and lab based measures were positively related but were not all significant. Consistent with past research, home based measures of attachment security and parental sensitivity were strongly positively related, which adds to the literature supporting the validity of the AQS and MBQS mini (Tarabulsy, et al., 2009). Moreover, these findings were anticipated as the two measures are complementary and can be assessed using the same parent child observations. Parental sensitivity was related to all EA dimensions. In contrast, attachment security was not related to any dimensions of EA, except the dimension of adult structuring. The latter findings failed to replicate results in past research which linked measures of attachment security to dimensions of EA (Biringen et al., 2014). Childhood attachment classifications obtained through the Strange Situation Procedure (SSP) were also examined in this study. Disorganized attachment has shown to be the most detrimental on children. On April 8, 1994, Nirvana frontman, Kurt Cobain was found dead in the greenhouse of his home in Seattle, Washington. • 32. Comparing Hospital Volunteering And Job Shadowing Most people avoid hospitals at all costs, but I enjoy hospitals and find inspiration in what they accomplish on a daily basis. People commonly associate hospitals with negative experiences and disregard the number of miracles that occur there. Every day, doctors and nurses work hard to save lives, improve lives, and bring new lives into the world. Volunteering and job shadowing at two hospitals has given me a glimpse at just how hard these professionals work to improve the lives of complete strangers. Everywhere you turn, there is a patient with a unique medical story, and they are all connected through a common purpose. Looking at the many rooms lining the hospital hallways strikes up my curiosity of every patient who ever laid in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Life Without Fate In Macbeth Things that one may have been or done before, are irrelevant to what is being done today. It doesn t matter who one was before, only who they are right now. Yesterday, someone may have been awesome, but they re a fool if they think that they can base their merit off of yesterday. Some people will do great things but no one is going to remember what they said and if they were popular or not. In Macbeth, written by William Shakespeare, Macbeth struggled with an inner conflict, choosing to kill the king or not, and he chose to kill him. When Macbeth became king, he gained glory and pride, and in the end, Macbeth realized that everything that he has done is pointless regarding his fate. In the last soliloquy, Macbeth said, a poor player, That struts and frets his hour upon the stage And is heard no more. (Macbeth, scene 5, act 5) When Macbeth killed the king, he decided his fate. Later his insecurities of losing power got to him and that resulted in him killing Macduff s family. Macbeth, later realized that he could no longer choose his fate. After Lady Macbeth dies, Macbeth lost hope and understood that he couldn t change his fate anymore.. He finally understood that he had gone to the point of no return and now he must understand that his honor from before wasn t going to matter now. Macbeth had his time in the spotlight and now it s time for someone else. This part of the soliloquy shows that in one s life they will have their hour of fame and glory, and after that hour, ... • 34. Compare And Contrast The Sniper And The Man He Killed Mankind must put an end to war, or war will put an end to mankind. John Fitzgerald Kennedy wrote this quote to the UN General Assembly on September 25, 1961. In other words Kennedy is saying that people should stop war because war tears people apart. In the writings The Sniper by Liam O Flaherty and The Man he Killed by Thomas Hardy they also talk about how war tears people apart. These two writings are both very similar although they have some differences in literary devices plot, irony, and theme. In these two works there are similarities and differences in plot. A similar plot from both stories is that the protagonist, a soldier, had to kill someone. He must kill the enemy that enemy and he could not use his rifle. (O Flaherty ... When the sniper reached the laneway on the street level, he felt a sudden curiosity as to the identity of the enemy sniper whom he had killed. (O Flaherty 208) In this quote from the The Sniper the main character wants to know the person he killed, because he might like him and wanted to be friends with him. In the two stories the main characters were both good people and felt remorse. You d treat if met where any bar is (Hardy 19) If both the men weren t soldiers, they would have met at a bar and had a drink together. The story The Sniper has situational irony. Suddenly from the opposite roof a shot rang out and the sniper dropped his rifle with a curse. (O Flaherty 207) The shooter wasn t expecting this outcome, because he got shot instead of the other guy. In the poem The Man He Killed there is verbal irony. I shot him dead because because he was my foe (Hardy 9 10) The man he killed was only his enemy on the battlefield, but he felt like the could have been friends. • 35. Study Of A Statcom Application For Voltage Stability... Study of a STATCOM Application for Voltage Stability Evaluated S.Rajasekqar, Assoc Professor HOD, NIST, Nagole, Hyderabad Abstract: In this paper voltage stability is evaluated b v both dynamic P V curves and time domain simulations, considering the combined dynamic control effects of a static compensator (SZ4TCOh!) and transformer on load taps (OLT). The studied system is heavily loaded at hvo locations and an 80 Mvar STA TCOM is connected to improve the voltage stability of entire s~stem for a contingency of a three terminal line outage. The resu[ts presented in this paper: (a) show that a STA TCOM can greatly improve the voltage stability of a heavily loaded system, (b) quantl~ the combined impacts of SZ4TCOM and OLT control: (c) illustrate that the margin of stability can be easily and effectively evaluated by P V curves; (d) correlate tirnedomain simulations and P V curves for a system with a STATCOM and OLT dynamic control. Keywords: FACTS, STATCOM, Voltage Stability, PV Curve, Stability Margin, Voltage/Var Control 1. The research shows that the Chinese language has a relatively uncomplicated grammar. Contrary to French, German or English, Chinese has no verb conjugation (in other words tense inflection). Also, this language has no noun declension, including gender and number distinctions. While learning Chinese you do not have to memorize different verb forms of tell/told/told. Under such circumstances, all you have to remember is just one word: kan. Also, while learning English a person has to distinguish between hat and hats . In Chinese we have a totally different situation. The only form that is present in this language is the word mao. The basic word order of Chinese is subject is the verb object. Fredrick Douglass Essay The purpose behind Fredrick Douglass s Narrative was to appeal to the other abolitionists who he wanted to convince that slave owners were wrong for their treatment of other human beings. His goal was to appeal to the middle class people of that time and persuade them to get on board with the abolitionist movement. Douglass had a great writing style that was descriptive as well as convincing. He stayed away from the horrific details of the time, which helped him grasp the attention of the women who in turn would convince their husbands to help by donating money and eventually ending slavery. He used his words effectively in convincing the readers that the slave owners were inhuman and showed how they had no feelings for other human ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This meant that these bastard children were slaves despite their paternal heritage because their mother was a slave. The effect of this revelation was to shock and offend the morals of the conservative Northern whites. Northern society scorned people in adulterous and interracial relationships. By portraying these Southerners as immoral and adulterous, Douglass wanted to cultivate in his audience a damaging opinion of southern slaveholders (Quarles ix). Continuing with the theme of family values, Douglass shifts to the basic family unit. Their master separated Douglass and his mother when he was an infant, for what reason he does not know (Douglass 2). No one gave Douglass an explanation because this situation was customary on plantations. Douglass wanted to horrify his Northern white readers by informing them that slaveholders regularly split slave families for no apparent reason. This obviously would upset Northerners because the family unit was the foundation for their close knit communities. Multiple generations and extended families lived together or near each other. It was unimaginable to the readers that a society existed that took children away from their mothers without reason. Northerners would think of anyone who was part of such a society as a heartless monster (Quarles ix). Another example of how Douglass used family values against southern slaveholders was in the treatment of his grandmother. When Douglass s master decided ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 39. Variations of the Game of Cricket Trobriand cricket, engaged by Trobriand Islanders, has been referred to as a distinct variation of standard cricket. Christian missionaries originally introduced cricket to the islands as a sport to discourage war among the populace. The sport has been extensively modified by the Trobriand society through increasing the amount of players, dancing, chanting, and adjusted bats and balls. As the game of cricket substituted war among the people of the island when war was forbidden, it has incorporated most of the older traditions linked with war for the Trobriand nation. The sport also reflects the objective of pride instead of ceremonial tradition, which was introduced to islands by their British conqueror and the American soldier during World War II. The Trobrianders of Papua New Guinea were usually horticulturists who demonstrated and achieved prestige and manhood throughout contest. These rivalries included the ability to plant yams, the skill of making good trades and acquiring valuables, and maintaining the strength of a fighter. Conversely, when Europeans missionaries occupied the island, the Trobrianders were required to give up their tradition of warfare. When this happened, they lost a cultural outlet necessary to preserve the political society and equilibrium of power between the Australasian islands. In order to complement this loss, the missionaries initiated the game of cricket to the islanders, soothing their competitive character. Even though this game was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 41. Management Accounting And Practices Of Small And Medium... 2.1 Introduction This chapter begins by looking at the literature that will give considerable information about Management Accounting and the practices of Small and medium Enterprises, bringing out the interdependence and interrelation of one to the other. 2.2 Overview of Management Accounting Management accounting was first known as cost accounting. This origin was reflected in the earlier title for practitioners of cost or works accountants (Wilson and Chua, 1988). Accounting historians have long endorsed the view that cost accounting is a product of the industrial revolution (Johnson, 1981). For example (Wilson and Chua, 1993) claimed that cost accounting was practiced by the mechanized, multi process, cotton textile factories that appeared in England and United States around 1800. This point of view was consistent with Garner (1947) who pointed out that cost accounting had emerged only after eighteenth century as a result of the rise of the factory system in the industrial revolution. The traditional view contends that cost accounting arose due to the increased use of fixed capital prompted accountants during the industrial revolution to graft cost accounting onto the double entry system (Johnson, 1981). Garner (1947) argued that the practices and theories of cost accounting origins can be traced to the fourteenth century. (Garner, 1947) explained that the English, Flemish and German commerce have encountered significant growth during this period. and various ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Evaluation Of A Nurse For My Clinical Essay This week, I had the opportunity to be in the OR department for my clinical. I spent a whole day observing the operation processes and the procedure itself, at the same time, I was able to get the patient to the post operative care before they are discharged or sent to another floor for further observation. I had an opportunity to observe four procedures. When I first arrived I was fortunate enough to meet with a nurse who let me in the OR, who happened to be the preoperative nurse that I will work with. After changing, we got a list of 2 patients. The first thing the nurse did was to explain to me that we had to look for basic information such as allergies, lab results, present history and physical for the patient. If there is no previous history within the last month or weeks, then we need to remind the doctor to write a new one. Once we met with the patients, we started by taking vital signs, asking their identity, and ask them to explain why they are there and what procedure they are there for. I remember my nurse asking the patients about whether or not they are in the menopausal stages or if there is a chance of them being pregnant. At the same time, my nurse gave antibacterial wipes for the patients to wipe themselves in specific areas and change into the hospital gowns. My nurse then started the IV with fluid and antibiotics while we discuss the medical history of the patient from the previous procedure to active diagnosis, to medication that they are taking and ... • 43. The Causes Of Urbanization And Poverty Urbanization causes financial problems to the overwhelming majority of the people. This is because problems with money are widespread in urban areas. First of all, urbanization leads to the extreme growth of unemployment. For instance, as reported by the International Labour Organization, International unemployment rose to 210 million people in 2010 (David Vicente 2012, p.154). According to David Vicente (2012, p.156) vast amounts of unemployment results in human resources not being used efficiently across cities which cause social inequality. This evidence shows that urbanization causes unemployment. Urbanization leads to significant overpopulation in the central cities, which causes high competition and as a result lower job opportunities for most people in the labor market. As businesses and governments cannot produce enough jobs to meet the demand of a fast growing population, a lot of individuals are faced with a shortage of employment and deprived of a vital source of income. As a result, lack of revenue leads to inequality in society. Secondly, urbanization leads to a lack of affordable housing for the overwhelming majority of urban people. According to Gan (et al., 2017, p.427) in the forthcoming future, the global urban population will reach around 6.3 billion people in 2050, and about 94% of them will be in developing countries. Furthermore, approximately 828 million people from developing countries currently live in inadequate housing and this number will rise ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In Part 3, Coleridge writes, Is that a Death? and are there two? (188), meaning that death and it s partner, Life in Death, have come for the Mariner and his crew since the Mariner shot the Albatross, which had previously led them to safety.
